IF YOU REALLY WANT ME DEAD
OC x CANON
Warnings: Wounds, blood, and knives featured
Author’s Notes: Michael is nonverbal, and anything he says is said through ASL. I also want to mention that this chapter features headcanons in the worldbuilding and character relationships.
Additional: Been a while, eh? I finished this chapter a few weeks after the first one, but for some reason… just never posted it? Really proud of it though! Very fluffy and sweet.
~CHAPTER TWO~
Michael stared at his knife as his... friend, Susie, patched him up near the lake. “How long did you keep her down?” Asked Joey, who was sitting beside him (For “moral support”, Michael could only assume).
“Until the shed,” Michael signed. “She stabbed me. Lots.”
Susie’s finger touched one of his wounds, causing him to stiffen and hiss in pain. “Woah, hey, it’s okay! Did I hurt you?” Despite the mask on her face, Michael could tell that her features would betray worry if they were visible.
Did she really expect Michael to answer that? I’ll just grit my teeth and bear this. He sighed softly, eyes returning to his bloody knife. At least I got her blood on it, he mused, not that anyone else hasn’t gotten in a stab.
The stars above the three glimmered as Susie finished wrapping gauze around Michael’s torso. He looked back at her. “You finished?” he signed.
Susie nodded. “All done. Just don’t do anything that could open up those wounds, and you’ll be fine.”
“Mmhm.” Michael hummed in acknowledgement as he put his arms in the sleeves of his jumper and buttoned up the top half. He pulled off his mask and took a deep breath of crisp, lakeside air.
Nights like this were nice. Michael wished they would happen more often– but of course, that was wishful thinking. He actually did like these two– as much as he hated to say it. He gestured for Susie to sit beside him, which she did.
“Pretty night,” he signed, his hands moving loosely. “I wish there were more like this.”
Joey took off his own mask to show Michael a smile. “There could be, if you just asked to spend more time with us.”
There wasn’t a damn chance Michael would go out of his way to ask someone to hang out. But I suppose it’s nice that they like me enough to want me to, he reckoned.
Crickets chirpped in the woods and under the leaves as the three stared out onto the lake, watching as it rippled with movement that occurred just under the surface.
“Have you ever gone fishing?” Michael asked, his hands this time signing his words more firmly.
Susie noticed this and smiled under her mask. “You sure seem excited. You wanna fish?”
Michael nodded, trying (and failing) not to smile. “My Dad used to take me fishing every summer. We went to the mountains sometimes.” He paused. I miss him. He missed home, and despite what a horrible brother he was to them– trying to kill them both– he missed his sisters.
Dearly.
Joey stood up. “Well? I’m sure Frank has a rod. Somewhere.” He grabbed his mask. “If you don’t wanna go fish, that’s fine–”
“I am going to fish with you.” Michael looked sternly at Joey, despite his excitement, seeming very blank-faced.
Joey rolled his eyes, putting his mask back on his face. “Alright big guy. Be right back!” He hurried off into the trees.
And Michael was left alone.
Well, not totally alone. Susie was beside him, poking at the soft ground with a stick. He gently waved his hand, getting her attention. “What’s up?” she asked.
“Do you miss your family?” Michael paused. “Your family from before this.”
Susie mulled over the question a bit. “I don’t remember them well,” she whispered. “I’ve been here for a very long time.”
Michael smiled. “Not as long as me. Do you just not want to talk about it?”
A silent nod from Susie answered his question. He hummed. “What about your life outside of your family? Do you miss it?”
“I do,” came Susie’s quick answer. She took off her mask. “I miss playing in the snow, and writing dumb things on sticky notes, and stuff like that.” She leaned against him. “I miss everything about how this used to be. But I’m glad I’m here.”
Michael gave her a confused look. “Why?”
A giggle came from Susie, and she put a hand up to her mouth to hide her teeth. “Because I met you here!” She lowered her hand, revealing a smile. “And I like you.”
Michael blinked, then finally smiled. “I like you too.”
Joey emerged from the trees, holding a single fishing pole. “Sorry, he wouldn’t let me take three.” He took off his mask and dropped it. “So, Michael, what shall we learn on this fine night?”
Grabbing the pole, Michael walked to the water’s edge. There was no dock, so He just had to cast his line and hope it was far enough away from the shallows. “You really just throw your rod without letting go. Sort of.” He cast his line, the baited hook flying through the air and landing quite a ways away from the edge.
Susie walked up to stand beside him. “And now, do we just wait?”
Michael nodded. “Fishing is just a waiting game. You cast your line and hope something bites. Eventually.” He backed up and sat down.
Taking a seat beside him was Joey, smiling. “What do you think we’ll catch?” He seemed excited to be doing this with his friend.
“It’s been so long, and who knows what fish live in this lake.” Michael paused. “But probably a crayfish or something.”
Joey laughed. “Eh, that’s fine. We’re havin’ fun though! Who cares if all we get is a measly crayfish?” He gave Michael a wide grin, and Michael smiled back.
Something tugged on the line, and Susie pointed. “We got something!” she exclaimed excitedly. Michael quickly started to reel it in.
“Just do it all at once!” exclaimed Joey, noticing Michael’s intermittent reeling.
Michael shook his head, almost letting go of the rod to sign an answer before remembering that he needed to keep his grip on it.
Joey pointed at the water. “Holy shit, there it is!”
Right under the surface writhed a fish– one that didn’t really look like anything Michael remembered, but such a catch was very exciting. Michael grinned, doing his best to reel it in quickly.
Soon enough, the fish was above water. It wasn’t the biggest creature, but it was decent for Michael’s first fishing trip in 30 years. He grabbed the line and held it up, pointing proudly at his catch, with a big smile on his face.
Susie poked it. “What kinda fish is it? Do you think we can eat it?”
“We can eat any fish,” Michael responded. “We should get this back to the campfire.”
Joey nodded. “Yeah, Frank can help us gut it and we’ll have some fish!” He smiled, then grabbed his mask and rushed into the trees excitedly. Susie giggled.
“He sure is excited, ain’t he? Come on.” She followed Joey into the woods.
Michael soon followed.

OK ok this is self indulgent BUT I didn't know what other character to use for my demonstration. ANYWAY the little claws in void Danny's face would grab onto ones face during kisses... leading to being clawed. It's probably worth it!!!

doodle comic semi related to a mini rant i went on bc i think we as a society need to leave the whole "our shy innocent helpless baby boy dweet who can do no harm" bit in 2017 n touch upon the fact we see prime examples of him being a vengeful, scheming little shit coupled by his impulsiveness and recklessness; craving to be seen as the underdog or hero, The Leader, to his peers, so much so hes willing to ignore the possible consequences that follow afterwards- consequences that may or may not affect himself and or others
