Okay so I love Valentines Day even though I'm cupioromantic asexual, it's a day full of love, colours, sweets and red 40. This year for the first time ever, all of my friends are dating someone, so kind of alone for the day. I'm still bring V-Day cheer through my tradition of baking cookies for my classmates and friends.

But... I have been thinking about what my Valentines Day would be if I did have a partner to spend it with

I'd have a picnic in the forest assorted with all sorts of red and pink treats, make a full red gingham and plain red cotton outfit with skirts and tops to match the blanket. It'd be an outing just for us. With a specialty playlist blend of our top romantic songs.

I don't exactly like having to date to get this but it's nice to imagine what I would do given the chance.

It's not the same with friends. This gives another kind of mood and tone.

PSA!!!

If anyone has been looking for some good quality, well made, and fairly priced ACNH icons available for both Android and iPhone, I've found the perfect option for you!

May I present:

DayBlue on Etsy!

The icon packs come in different themes with 500+ icons (separated into App Icons, Character Icons, and Other Icons), anywhere from 15+ to 50+ wallpapers, as well as many different widgets of both small and medium sizes! Also included, at least in the pack I bought (the Gelato Pack for Android), were blank icons of the different colors available in the pack that can be used to make your own custom icons that fit the theme!

For example, I was able to make my own custom Play Store and Bluesky icons, and my home screen now currently looks like this:

They're fairly priced at around $6 each, are easy to install (Android users will either need a custom launcher or, if you're a Samsung user, the Theme Park application, which is what I used) and include a whole lot of options!

ALSO: I am not affiliated with this store, I just think they've got some good stuff and wanted to share with anyone who might be looking for some good icons!

here's one of the short stories i wrote last month:

At 5 in the morning in the early summer, the sky is a deep, rich blue. Like a whale, or an old song. Over the eastern riverbank the horizon shades indecisively lighter - reds, yellows, deep purples and oranges on smoky days. But you're heading west, where the blue still holds sway.

This early in the morning, sound is strange. In the early spring when the birds start singing around that time again, the noise nearly overwhelms you - not its volume, but its very existence. The world alive again when you are. The world waking up again as you do.

Heading west into the blue and the blackberry thickets, the birdsong grows denser. This is the time for singing and the strange lives of crepuscular animals. You've seen three generations of rabbits eat, play, and watch you from the riverbank. Startled by a human presence so early, every time. The older ones are scared less easily; you catch the eye of one this morning and remember last summer when you interrupted a game of chase between it and two siblings. They had scattered explosively, two disappearing in the treeline and one fleeing across the road into the blackberry bushes where, you suspect, they all burrow down. If there are any games of chase today, you do not see them - but you don't see everything. There are many mornings when you are too busy thinking about lies and truths to see anything at all.

As you go south, the buildings grow tall and distinct, made up of windows that reflect the coming dawn. It never comes out in a photograph, but there's something beautiful to it, seeing the light turn glass and steel into an extension of the sky. If you had more time - if you took the time - you could go past those buildings to the park along the river and watch the dawn resolve into brighter, bolder colors before it washes away into morning. But you don't, you haven't yet, so you can't say how it would look, really. It's just a guess, desire.

Soon the deep blue will retreat entirely, and dayblue will overtake everything. Beauty will go back into corners and angles, glimpsed from particularly good views. The traffic on the freeway will pick up. The birds will stop singing and go to work like the rest of the world. The rabbits will hide away to sleep. You will go down two flights of stairs to sit under two tons of concrete, in a place where the sky is entirely hypothetical. But you haven't opened the door yet. Stay here a minute and you'll get one last glimpse of it as it is now - deep, clear blue. Like a whale turning silently in vast ocean waters. Like an old, old song.
