It’s Day 162 of the Windy Wessagusset Wimple of 2024. The wind was out of the west southwest at 9mph with gusts at 20mph at 7am. The temperature was 60° and it felt like 53°. I used the Turqua color of Red Heart Super Saver yarn to show the wind was out of the west southwest. I worked my knitting in garter stitch since the wind was blowing at 9mph. It was a pretty day in Wessagusset. It was sunny, but once again it was very windy. Today I cleaned out my closet and finished putting all my winter clothes away in a barrel for storage. They can be moved until the fall, when I will put my summer clothes away, and reclaim my fall and winter clothes. Today Michael helped me when I was doing it, so it moved much more quickly than if I had to do it alone. It feels great having that done. Be safe out there.

Galveston sea wall! I imagine when they first built this part of the sea wall there was actual beach out in front and over time disappeared. This happens because a sea wall can disrupt the natural pattern of beach replenishment causing passive erosion to happen. Also, even a properly maintained sea wall isn’t made to last more than 50 years making it a weak sustainable option. We need to be looking to implement strong sustainable options to help extend our coastal communities. Work with the Ocean, not against it!

This was a frustrating day. It was busy at the park and I was working in a satellite booth. By the time I heard about the turtle and then was given permission to go see it it had JUST entered the water. I get tired of people saying I have the dream job. Yes it is on the beach and I do love that part but at the same time I still feel apart from it especially with all the pain I'm in physically now.
