It’d be so much more complicated than just starting over in a new town, just from the amount of phone calls to say “surprise I’m not really dead” & dealing with all those emotions from other people & having to explain over & over… how much would she even be allowed to tell anyone?

Her will would have been executed so her assets distributed ect

Her house possibly sold too IDK & all her stuff & random shit thrown out or distributed or donated or just not around anymore

& she’d have to get licences & all sorts of other documents reissued & open another bank account & stuff

Hell there would probably be a memorial set up by her family, there’s be a grave to undo, some kind of plague or maybe even a wing of the courtroom named for her to take down/rename lol

Given how much of a pain in the ass changing address on regular shit is just from moving let alone the level of returning from the dead would be I feel like it’d be easier to start over with a new name, like… oh I don’t know… Alexandra Novak for example lol

Or at least that’s the reasoning I have for a sort of marriage of convenience/I want to date my wife situation idea for Calex

“If Batman asks, this is your fault.” Dick holds up his cup, which is glowing. 

Danny giggles, clutching the bottle of liquor to his chest. “Batman can’t catch me. I’m in-in–” he stops, sounding out the word silently. “Uncatchable.” 

Wheezing with laughter, Dick gestures with his cup, sloshing the liquor. “That’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard.”

The two are relaxing on one of Gotham’s roofs. Danny brought back the liquor from one of his frequent visits to the Ghost Zone for his Ghost King duties. At 19, he’s of legal drinking age in Gotham and taking advantage of the fact. 

Dick takes another drink. “It tingles when I swallow.”

“Ectoplasm. Tastes like citrus”

It’s more like anise to him, but Danny is half-ghost. They probably have different taste buds than regular people. Or maybe half his taste buds are dead so only citrus is left? He takes another sip. 

“Woah.” Danny leans forward to peer at him, nearly tipping off the roof. Not that he can’t float. “Your eyes are glowing.”

“What?” Dick fumbles for his phone, finally bringing up the reverse camera to squint at his own face. “They are. Like J’son.”

“It’ll probably fade.” Considering this comes from someone who glows when transformed all the time, it’s not as reassuring as it could be.

“D’ya think the Lazarus Pits are just…giant liquor vats?”

Danny holds up his bottle to consider the glowing contents. “I could be rich. Bottle and sell it. Free liquor, Dick.”

“Made Jason go nuts, though. Probably not a good business model.”

“It’s like…fight club juice. We can have a betting pool and sell shots.”

Dick blinks at his empty cup. “I know a crime lord that could host it. But Batman might shut it down.”

“No, no!” Danny flops against Dick’s side, waving the bottle. “The first rule about fight club is…there is no fight club. It’s a secret.”

Mouth open, Dick stares back. “THat’s genius. We should do it.” He considers the swirling state of the skyline. “Tomorrow. What proof is that ghost stuff anyway?”

“Uh…” Another frown at the bottle. “I’m half dead. I don’t think it matters.”

Dick is, unfortunately, 100% alive and 1000% going to have a hangover tomorrow. At least he’s got a business idea out of the impending headache.

Melon, Mint, and Cucumber Iced Tea Recipe

Ingredients:

4 cups of water

2-3 bags of your preferred tea (green tea pairs nicely)

2 cups cubed melon (cantaloupe or honeydew work well)

1 small cucumber, thinly sliced

Fresh mint leaves

Ice cubes

Honey or another sweetener to taste (optional)

Melon balls, cucumber slices, and mint sprigs for garnish

Instructions:

Boil the water in a large pot or kettle. Once boiling, remove it from the heat and add the tea bags. Let them steep for about 3-5 minutes, then remove the tea bags.

In the meantime, blend the melon cubes until smooth. Pass the puree through a fine mesh sieve to remove any solids, collecting the juice in a bowl.

Add the sweetener to the warm tea if desired, stirring until it dissolves.

Allow the tea to cool at room temperature, then refrigerate it until it's thoroughly chilled.

In a large pitcher, combine the chilled tea, melon juice, and cucumber slices. Add mint leaves to taste. Let it infuse for about 30 minutes in the fridge.

To serve, fill glasses with ice cubes. Pour the infused tea over the ice, making sure each glass gets some cucumber slices and mint leaves.

Garnish with a skewer of melon balls, a slice of cucumber, and a sprig of mint on the rim of each glass.

Enjoy immediately and savor this delightful Melon, Mint, and Cucumber Iced Tea on a warm day!

Curly had two days to act and Swansea had two months.

I think it’s just interesting that every defense of Swansea not immediately acting are the same ones that are argued against for Curly. “He didn’t want to alert Daisuke or makes things worse for Anya either Jimmy!” I mean people also assume that about Curly and the crew. “He has to think about his plan of action and a right moment!” Again so did Curly, power and authority aside, he still would have to think of what he had to do. “He makes sure he doesn’t have to be around Jimmy!” So did Curly and they only do this to an extent, both give Jimmy more than a few opening to keep harassing Anya.

This isn’t defense of Curly nor a damnation of Swansea. Their actions are very parallel to each others in tragic and sour ways when it comes to how they approached helping Anya. In the grand scheme of it all they both did the same thing: Nothing. No action either took stopped the inevitable outcome of her death nor Jimmy’s continued damage to themself.

The only real difference is Swansea didn’t like Jimmy which is pretty substantial, but also just as damning as Curly knowing how bad Jimmy could get to an extent. He had even less of a reason to wait, even more of a reason to act seeing as he was now worried for Anya AND Daisuke. He is not bound by the possible procedure as Captain and actively does not care about what happens next. So what does it matter if he acted in the moment? Why did he wait? I think he’s just as morally complex and grey as Curly and we hold him on a pedestal that still perpetuates things in rape culture the game critiques.

It’s not just enough to dislike and be abrasive to predators/abusers like Jimmy. It’s not enough to just put yourself between them and the other person. It’s not enough to hold tensions when you know someone is vulnerable. He and Curly do the exact same things but on different sides of the coin. I ask how is it better to not turn a blind eye but still not really do anything about what you are seeing? Not until it affects you atleast…

The game makes a big point to not put men doing the bare minimum or who wait to do more on pedestals and I’m actually surprised so many are missing that point.
