Steve stares at him astonished, while another of these flying creatures gets to him and tight his tail against Steve’s neck.

He falls to the ground, while he tries to free himself from the creature.

He somehow manages to bite the creature’s tail and finally breathes some air, he turns to catch it from the wounded tail but Billy is quicker than him and grabs it with his hands and chops its head off.

“You ok?” He asks, nuzzling at him like a dog.

“I’m fine. Thanks. But what the fuck is going on? I thought you were dead. I saw your body on the floor and…”

“Shh…” Billy shushes him “We have to go.”

“Where?”

“Where is safer!” Billy replies, taking Steve’s arm and dragging him away from the portal.

“Wait! I have to go back! Nancy! And Max! Good Max will be so happy when I’ll tell her… are you listening? I have to go back!” Steve repeats, but Billy is not listening.

He keeps dragging him toward a familiar road called… “Cherry Lane”?

It’s Max's old house but it’s different from the one Steve remembers.

“Is this your home?”

“Yes and… no.”

“What does it mean? Bily? Billy?” He calls but the boy is running toward his room.

Steve follows him and when he opens the door he is surprised to see ceramic dolls and stuffed animals everywhere.

“Are you a doll collector?”

“No. Before.”

Steve doesn’t understand what’s going on, but what he can see is that Billy is suffering.

“Hey, what’s going on? Talk to me!”

When Billy turns Steve sees a tentacle moving from under Billy's tank top. Another Upside Down bat is hiding under his tank top?

He lifts Billy's tank top, ready to free him but there are no bats under his tank top, only many tentacles coming from the hole in Billy's chest.

“What the fuck?!” He yells jolting away from him.

“Not… bad.” Billy tries to explain to him.

“Fuck Billy! You literally have vines in your stomach!”

“Not… bad!” He growls again.

Steve has seen monsters and he knows that having tentacles in your stomach can’t possibly be a good thing, and he is proven right when two of these tentacles grab him and drag him toward the bed.

“Billy!” he calls, trying to free himself, but more tentacles emerge from Billy’s inside to immobilize him.

“You smell so good, Harrington.” Billy whispers getting closer to him, nuzzling at his neck, and growling like a beast.

Is he going to eat him? Is he a sort of demogorgon? 

Steve shivers under Billy’s touch looking around the room to find a way to free himself. There are only stupid dolls on every fucking surface.

He pulls one of the tentacles and one of the dolls falls to the ground breaking down into sharp pieces.

If only Steve could get one of them… But the tentacles are holding him even tighter.

“Don't be afraid it will be over soon.”

Fuck this. He is not going to die like a fucking moron, tied to a bed.

One of the tentacles gets into Steve’s mouth and Steve can’t breathe.

“Breathe from your nose.” Billy orders him, and Steve tries to, fighting the panic that is increasing. His heart beats so hard that he takes a moment to notice that Billy’s tentacles are actually gentle and that the movement of the tentacle inside his mouth is almost soothing.

“Open for me. Are you going to take all of me, pretty boy?”

Steve is already drooling around the tentacles and feels so empty when the tentacle leaves his mouth that he gladly accepts Billy’s dick in his mouth.

It makes no sense.

He is not gay.

Is he?

But the weight of Billy’s dick is something he has thought of more than once when they showered together at school and now it feels almost familiar. Billy’s dick is stretching Steve’s mouth just right, and the taste is bitter and salty but the scent of Billy’s sweat is so familiar.

“What about you?”

“I’m Upside Down material. Can’t you see?” he replies, and he seems more lucid than he was.

Steve stares at him while he puts on a tank top.

“I missed you.” Steve admits in a whisper.

“I know.” Billy replies, but he leaves the room to find clothes and shoes.

“Billy…” he whispers, already missing him. He looks out of the window and sees a demoniac version of Hawkins and promises himself that they will find a way to bring Billy back.

He will find a way to bring Billy back.

Summary:

He has to learn what it means to love, and cherish, without possessing and he does. Their relationship is beautiful, strong, unbreakable . . . but he carries a dark secret through their marriage for decades until eventually he has to face the consequences of that secret and leave her, without warning, for seven years. He returns, finding her at the Hazbin Hotel, and has to convince her to forgive him, while being literally bound to secrecy, unable to tell her any of things he now is desperate to explain to her.
