Digimon Frontier AU in which the Spirits of Steel, Wood, and Earth were bequeathed to Ophanimon, the Spirits of Darkness and Water were bequeathed to Seraphimon, the Spirits of Flame, Light, Ice, Wind, and Thunder were bequeathed to Cherubimon, and the protagonists are Katsuharu, Teppei, Chiaki, Teruo, and Koichi (with Koji joining later).

sorry this took a bit; I got sick halloween night and it got worse over the following days so I didn't feel up to addressing this with the focus it deserves. up for it now, though, and gonna put my thoughts under the cut:

MAN, ok, so, the dynamic here would be so, so different. The biggest point for me is that Koji didn't know about Koichi; Dawnmon (as a hypothetical, opposed to Duskmon) would be so much more dangerous as a result.

Koichi's attachment to Koji saved the original destined children a few times; Koji would have no such attachment, and would instead have to match those story beats by resisting the corruption with his own gentleness--which he has a lot of difficulty expressing, so I imagine he get a reputation for "playing" with them (maybe saying stuff like "Become worthy opponents to me and I'll bother going all-out.")

I think Koji's innate compassion could make him easy to manipulate, too; Cherubimon's resentment at perceived oppression of beast-type by human-type digimon would galvanize Koji, and seeing him act in the capacity of defending the marginalized makes sense, easily aligning him with the Royal Knights

Besides that, when I think about the bully squad actually becoming digidestined, they'd need some pretty significant character growth to be worthy of the spirits that allow them to change...which honestly might be interesting, in the context of their initial crummy behavior being seen as validation for human-type oppression, putting them into conflict with Koji right away

The Mamemon village arc is interesting with the original destined kids too; assuming they linger because Takuya is stubborn and wants to find + confront Tommy's bullies, Tommy is too scared to leave alone, Zoe is clinging to them because she doesn't wanna confront being friendless back home, and JP both wants to bond with these people and also explore the Digital World

It really wouldn't take a ton of shifting and recontextualization to work. Good AU idea, tyvm!

Yes, I am alive! Happy Pride month everyone! I hope for everyone who is part of the community is celebrating with their loved ones or people that they are all close with!

For Pride month I've decided to draw my OC's celebrating the occasion as well, for context I'll explain what each character identify as from right to left:

Floarry (pink haired boy) is Pansexual

Seithal (blue boy carrying Floarry) is Gay

Arty (blond woman) is Asexual

Charcoal (black, curly hair with trans flag) identifies as a woman

Firna (fiery gal) is Bisexual

Luna (blue and black hair) is Lesbian

Skylighla (in white and pink dress) identifies as also Pan

Digimon Frontier (Swap) Episode 32: My Brother in Spirit (change title as you see fit)

The title works for this bit, as it's still Kouji/Kouichi being talked about in this section, just that the two are reversed. So, the title stays.

Kouichi/Kouchi takes shelter in a windstorm, thinking about Dawnmon/Serpopardmon, how it was Kouji/Koji underneath, and suddenly his mind spirals into the madness that he'd been on since coming to the Digital World - what would Kouji/Koji think of him? Would Kouji/Koji understand what they were? would Kouji/Koji lash out like Dawnmon/Serpopardmon? Would his birth father blame him for it?

His spiraling has an unintended side effect, however - Katsuharu ends up missing him as he continues to search for Kouichi/Kouchi, neither noticing the other passing by.

Teruo, Teppei, and Chiaki return to the spot where they dumbly left Bokomon, Nee/Neamon and Patamon, only to find that the Digimon went in search for either them or Katsuharu/Kouichi/Kouchi. Feeling upset that they left them behind, Group B decides to wait for them on Locomon.

Dawnmon, having deDigivolved from Serpopardmon, starts asking himself questons about Kouichi/Kouchi - mainly on the lines of 'who is that? My clone?' before realizing that it can't be right. But the pain of seein a similar face torments him, Cherubimon/Kerpymon comes in to 'help' his wayward Corrupted Digimon of Light. Here, he decides to tell Kouji/Koji that the pain he's feeling? It's caused by having Kouichi/Kouchi around, and to get rid of it, he just has to destroy the Digimon of Darkness.

Dawnmon, resolved with this twisted logic, turns back into Serpopardmon to find and destroy Kouichi/Kouchi.

Jump to Bokomon and Neemon/Neamon, the two are running around trying to find Patamon - as Patamon wandered off. The two bump into Katsuharu, whom is still looking for Kouichi/Kouchi. They decide to band together, as Patamon the flying guinea pig returns, gives a 'I know where Kouichi/Kouchi is!' and flies off.

Serpopardmon finds Kouichi/Kouchi again, forcing him to evolve into Raihimon/Rhihimon to do battle. Realizing that he has a chance to get through to Seropardmon, he tries convincing to the human trapped in Serpopardmon that they're related. He explains that they're parents are divorced, and that they're twin siblings. This causes Serpopardmon to slide evolve into Dawnmon, and starts relentlessly attacking again. Kouichi/Kouchi starts pushing further, about how their mom is still alive, and she's not dead like their father made Kouji/Koji believe.

Dawnmon stops his relentless assault, perplexed at this relevation, with Kouji/Koji almost coming out of Cherubimon/Kerpymon's influence. However, Cherubimon/Kerpymon pushes Kouji/Koji further, making Dawnmon use it's Penetrating Eyes attack to a blindsided Raihimon/Rhihimon, returning Kouichi/Kouchi back to his human form. Dawnmon then transforms into Serpopardmon, charging out it's Grand Seal attack to finish Kouichi/Kouchi off. Katsuharu manages to come in just before it launches the shot, pushing Kouichi/Kouchi aside from the blast. Katsuharu starts telling Kouichi/Kouchi to get up and fight back, but at this point, Kouichi/Kouchi has run out of options, not sure what else would get through to Serpopardmon at this point - he's told everything that he knows to Kouji/Koji, yet that still hasn't been able to get through to him. Katsuharu growls at that, remembering his relationship with Teppei and how he feels they've become closer lately thanks to their adventures in the Digital World, and decides that if words won't cut it, then freeing Kouji/Koji by fighting would be the better option.

Seeing the logic in his statement, Kouichi/Kouchi Spirit Evolves back into Raihimon/Rhihimon, but not without some hesitation over it. The two combine their powers, reflecting Serpopardmon's attack back at him, purifying the Spirits of Light and releasing Kouji/Koji from Cherubimon/Kerpymon's control. Kouji/Koji collapses, and Katsuharu and Kouichi/Kouchi approach carefully. Katsuharu finds that Kouji/Koji is the same Kouji/Koji that he 'met' as Mirrormon, and wonders what this means for them.
