Dream Team Making it all  Happen at Pebble Beach Food & Wine AND Coachella Festival Acme House Company

I can’t believe this weekend, y’all - in the best possible of ways. Mostly that we’re actually able to make multiple dreams happen at one time🌟⚡️✨🍷 While I am here all weekend at Pebble Beach Food & Wine, hosting The Dawn McCoy VIP Experience and taping an episode of @dineanddishwithdawn, my skilled and creative #DawnMcCoyMedia team is in the thick of Coachella, kicking off our first Dawn McCoy Media House today for a month in Palm Springs at the West Elm House 2019 - @theseveneightybywe with @acmehouseco - with a celebrity gifting suite with Luxury Experience & Co. At first I thought it wasn’t possible to be two places at once but then I remembered how I have worked so hard and thoughtfully to build this dynamo team - this family - of brilliant, talented women (and, a few men ☺️) who can think not only like I do - but better than me, at times. Who give me the space, time and freedom I need to be the chief creator and ideator while they keep me organized and see those ideas through to fruition. And, who cheer me on even when the plate looks a little too full, and who not only help me clear the plate but bring me dessert, in the creative sense. Success and Setbacks, As the One Year of Dawn McCoy Media arrives

Truth talk time, y’all - because when I share the successes, I also want to share the struggles. Last week, I shared a huge milestone in my life - 1 year of #DawnMcCoyMedia- & so many of y’all sent congratulations & gifts & messages of joy. THANK YOU FOR THAT. WOW!!💗 As I try to “truth talk” here on this land of squares as much as possible, I want you to know how last week also looked from the lens of my eyes: UTTERLY BAFFLING & BEWILDERING. There were huge work opportunities, new campaigns & hosting wins...followed by a miscommunication & a missed opportunity out of my control. There was some of the happiest, most exciting news of my life...and, also fear & doubt that crept in just as I was starting to celebrate it. There were moments of patting myself on the back with the big wins...& there were moments of tearing myself down when something didn’t meet my expectation - leading it to feel like a loss. There were champions cheering me on & a critic I wasn’t anticipating, and it felt like they all came to the party in the same week. So, back home to LA I went last night, with more exciting news to follow today, and thankfully, I had time to take a breath, take a bath, take it all in with gratitude & feel like myself again - forgiving others for their missteps and forgiving myself for my imperfection and perfectionism that are always constantly battling.

A few of you noticed my absence here on stories and asked “Are you ok?” I appreciate it more than you know. I just needed a break to live in the moment and not in a story feed. When I worked with philosophy on the #HopeAndGraceInitiative & when I hosted their #HopeAndGrace luncheon in 2017, we talked about how by simply asking “How are you REALLY?,” we can open up an entire, authentic dialogue that “How are you?” never quite elicits. So, right now, I want to say this: Last week was weird. It was a challenge. And, I’m ready for Mercury Retrograde to go AWAY. (And, it does on the 28th, thank GOD!!) And, I also wanna ask YOU: How are YOU really, today? This isn’t one of those questions at the end of a post to increase engagement - I just really, sincerely want to know. We’re all in this together, y’all.💗

So Much to Tell, So Much to See- Hard Working while Having Fun

A year ago yesterday while attending Fashion Week El Paseo in Palm Desert, I launched DMM - Dawn McCoy Media - to appease a client - an international company who couldn’t make a payment to an individual proprietor and needed a company name for validity. 😂 A year later, I’m a CEO, whose company - intended to be in name only - has worked with the likes of the city of Palm Desert, Twitter, Pebble Beach Food & Wine, LA Food & Wine, Four Seasons, Bluegreen Vacations, Louis Vuitton, Givenchy Beauty, Palm Springs CVB, Acme House Company, JW Marriott, Smithfield Pork, El Paseo, La Croix, SoulMats, Landmark Wine, Modernism Week and many more. It reminds me of that scene from “Father Of The Bride” when Kimberly Williams’ character delivers the news that she’s “met a boy in Paris and we’re gonna get married” and her father sees her as the little girl she was...rather than the woman she has become. I mean, am I the only one who feels like I’m “playing grown-up” at times? It feels strange, doesn’t it? But at the same time it doesn’t. After all, I feel like I get to “play” every day. I get to play with my friends. And, play with brands. And, play with pr pros and marketing mavens, and cities and corporations, all while just being me: an influencer-connector-actor-host-writer-producer, who consciously decided to turn my connecting into a media outlet and, content creation, social media management and production company. I turned my play into production. And, turned production into power. I’m pretty sure that this is exactly what they told us as little girls we couldn’t do. “Stop playing, Dawn. Get to work. To be successful, you have to work HARD. And, work is not always fun.” Ohhhhh, but it is, Mom. It IS. And, inspiring. And, intoxicating. And, fulfilling. Instead of working “hard?” I chose at some point along the way to “work fun” - to use my voice as a woman and my power as a woman - to work with my friends and to work with those who have supported me along the way- in ways that my mother never even knew to dream of. Good golly, that is COOL. So, SO COOL. And, that’s coming from someone who has always considered herself anything but cool. On Monday, I’ll be making an exciting announcement. And, then the next day, I’ll be making another one, and - well - that’s crazy, y’all. And, all I can think - and, all whom I can THANK are the women who inspire me daily & who work with me daily - both on my 6-person team and my own agents and managers - and, who all motivate me every day to make all of our lives not only better - but, oh my darlings, to make them more joy-filled. More creative. More productive. And, more FUN!!! More fun that our parents ever dared to dream. Let’s go have more of that fun this year, shall we? The Sommeliers (and a Girl) of the Four Seasons Maui Classic

Someone in this picture of sommeliers at the #FSmauiClassic does not belong.☺️ That would be me. When Ted Glennon asked me to be a part of this photo the night before at Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea, I thought it was just a casual thing, but to actually be in this moment - in this photograph - flanked by some of the world’s greatest sommeliers? Well, it was almost too much for this heart of mine to handle.🍷 I’ve had A LOT of moments like this lately - ESPECIALLY in the food and wine space - and, I want you to know that all of it is not lost on me. I am feeling so much gratitude and so much awe in this place that I am. No, not in Maui - in spite of all the photos on here, I’ve actually been home for 2 weeks as of tonight - but, gratitude for being in this “PLACE,” where my daily career life involves travel, the best cuisine in the country and the best wines and spirits I could dream of. Thank YOU, @tedglennon @christianeduardonavarro @fsmaui, Wally’s Beverly Hills, all of the somms in this photo, all of the chefs and wine and spirit brands and sponsors, media outlets and #DawnsDestinations influencers who were an integral part of the first-ever #FSmauiClassic.  The first time may never be able to be duplicated but the years ahead will indubitably birth a similar kind of magic and uniqueness as the first. Serenity and Break Time at the Glorious Four Seasons Wailea for Maui Classic Food and Wine

Well, now, y’all. This is what I NEEDED. Thank you, Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea, for bringing me and #DawnsDestinations into this #FSMauiClassic so early on that I knew this was coming up on the horizon - and, had something relaxing and indulgent to look forward to - past all the hard work...and, all the sleepless nights...and, all the hosting...and, producing...and, wrangling of personalities...and, pleasing of people...and, going to galas...and, primping pretty for parties. I know. It sounds fun - and, it is. It really, really is. But as “fun” as I am, I am also notorious for not having an off-switch. Work is fun is life - which means no off-days and no true vacations. When you love what you do - and, have crafted your life around what you do - sometimes, you’re the worst boss to yourself. As much as I preach self-cafe to my team and others, in the past 6 months, I have not been practicing self-care myself - aside from a nightly 15-minute bubble bath. I have not meditated or prayed. My workouts have been either all or nothing (nothing these last 3 weeks on location). I have comforted myself in the rare down minute with sugar and wine (no judgement there). And, I have been so busy that being still has not even been an option. And, yet I worked. And, worked. Making things that are actually hard appear very, very easy and effortless and elegant - thanks to the eye of our @DawnMcCoyMedia Associate Creative Director, @ElizabethObaker. And, got an average of 4 hours of sleep every night just so I could be HERE at the Four Seasons Maui Wine & Food Classic. In this cabana. In this beach chair. With @mauibabeinc browning lotion slathered on my body. A mai tai in my hand. A serentity pool and ocean in front of me. The man I love on my left. And, a month full of successes and challenges behind me. And, while I know I should check my email, I will not. Because this is the life I’ve crafted for myself and I deserve a break. As hard workers, dreaming the dream and having the courage to go after it, we all deserve a break. Whether it’s an afternoon spent at the pool. A book read in our favorite nook. A bubble bath or shower that lasts a *little* too long. A cup of tea while the baby is sleeping. The Acme House Company shows off with the Aqualillies Swimmers, Design, Delight and More

Modernism Week in Palm Springs this year for #DawnMcCoyMedia meant hosting and producing 19 events and 2 influencer trips in 11 days. No easy feat perhaps but definitely a fun one when 15 of those events were the Aqualillies shows at The Pool House by West Elm with Acme House Company Vacation Rentals.

While the glamour of the Aqualillies is always certainly more than enough to excite and delight me, I was even more proud to be a part of a series that brought in such bold and beautiful brands, friends and partners from our DMM family.

Bringing together Palm Springs Modernism Week and Beverly Hills Rodeo Drive at Louis Vuitton

Two weeks ago tomorrow, I had the honor of co-hosting a little event in Beverly Hills with Louis Vuitton and William Kopelk, Chairman & Co-Founder of Modernism Week, celebrating the upcoming @Modernism_Week here in Palm Springs.

Before I begin sharing all of the creativity and inspiration here during Modernism Week this week, I feel compelled to share with you all this beautiful evening of which I was so so proud to be a part.

It really included so many of my favorite things: The glamour of Palm Springs. The luxury and warmth of Louis Vuitton.

Design. Architecture. Rodeo Drive - my home away from home.

Beverly Hills.

Friends. 

Food.  And, champagne!

I think everyone would agree that it was truly the perfect way to kickoff the magic that is @Modernism_Week.

Thank you, Louis Vuitton, @tlylebarnes, Jennifer Barich and Marcelo for hosting such a fabulous affair, and thank you to William, Lisa and the @modernism_week board for making the trek from @visitgreaterps to toast with us in Beverly Hills.

The most Darling House with Acme House Company Vacation Rentals

While I loved recapping our La Jolla Trip with you guys, Nick and I actually have spent the past 5 days and 4 nights “playing house” at The 4500-square foot “Spero Estate” with my beloved client, Acme House Company Vacation Rentals. Givenchy Beauty, Carry the Good With You

So, what is @GivenchyBeauty to me? Audrey Hepburn. Ease. Grace. Femininity. Sophistication... And, as I often share, I haven’t always felt like that. I have often felt like too much and not enough all at the same time. And, I also know that I’m not alone in that. But, having a good soul can help. Hosting a Glam Beauty Event Givenchy Tea @ The London

Co-hosting and co-producing (as Dawn McCoy Media) the first-ever GivenchyTea for 70 of the top influencers on Tuesday with these ladies - the communications team of Givenchy Fragrances & Beauty and the event production prowess of Gina Wade Creative- at The London West Hollywood at Beverly Hills was truly a dream.

A DREAM, I tell you. Celebrating the launch of the new velvety smooth #LeRougeLiquide lipsticks, the day was filled with scones and champagne and decorated cookies and playing with makeup and cheering on other women, connecting women (and, one beautiful guy!) to one another, and hugging some of my favorite gals - a few of my FAVORITE things.

Gina Wade and her team brought to life the true Givenchy aesthetic with classic black decor with blooming pops of color in the form of red centerpieces, reminding us that lipstick and Paris were the reason for the celebration.

Usually at events like these, I don’t have a minute to spare, but yesterday I took a step back and really looked around the room of 70, taking in the beauty and power of some of the top beauty, fashion and lifestyle influencers of the world all in one room together.

I saw new friends and old friends, and people I’ve respected and admired from afar for years. But perhaps, best of all, I saw so many faces of the women in this industry whom I love to support and who love to support me. And, let me tell you, my friends - that is a picture I will always hold onto in my heart.

Thank you to EVERYONE who came. And, while we would have loved to have had more (we had a waiting list!!), I’m already excited for the next @GivenchyBeauty event in LA.

Staying Afloat by Surrounding Yourself with Support of Others

Sometimes we feel like we’re drowning. Like we’re surrounded by a body of water we can’t control and floating aimlessly in this abyss known as life. And, then, we wake up. And, we realize that it’s really just all water and, realize that underneath us is a float - a floatation device - created to hold us up and support us when we are too tired to swim and must choose to just float. And, we look to our right and we see a friend...or, in my case, I look right in front of me and see a fluffy little Lorax of a friend who’s been there for me for 14 years and will even jump into pools with me just so I know that I’m never, ever truly alone. And, it all reminds me of a quote from one of my all-time favorite ‘80s movies in my living Nostalgiaville - St. Elmo’s Fire - which all of you kids really need to go watch today. But I digress. It’s a quote when the lost-but-not-lost boy himself, Billy (@robloweofficial in one of my forever-favorite role of his), is attempting to save the day for lost-but-not-lost girl, Jules (played beautifully flawed by Demi Moore @moore2d): “Jules, y'know, honey... this isn't real. You know what it is? It's St. Elmo's Fire. Electric flashes of light that appear in dark skies out of nowhere. Sailors would guide entire journeys by it, but the joke was on them... there was no fire. There wasn't even a St. Elmo. They made it up. They made it up because they thought they needed it to keep them going when times got tough, just like you're making up all of this. We're all going through this. It's our time at the edge.” At one time or a few times in our lives, we all feel on the edge. And, all we can do is cuddle the fluffy little Loraxes next to us who refuse to leave our side, try to find our footing as best as we can, reach out for the landing and know that we will float through this wave in life just like we’ve floated through all the others. It really did take getting into 2019 to realize how challenging 2018 was, but thus far, 2019 has me floating...and, smiling...and, feeling awfully grateful for all the comforting Loraxes and supporting floats in my life. Making a Splash at the Invitingly Fun Eilan Hotel and Spa, San Antonio
