i forgot that it was already the tenth anniversary!!😭😭 sorry this is a bit late-

a bit of a ramble below the cut if you wanna listen to me yammer on about my history with fnaf:3

i originally heard about fnaf around the time it came out. not by anyone online no no no, no gameplay footage, but one of my very close friends at the time gave me the WHOLE RUNDOWN and lore of the foxy x mangle/chica series. i was a bit scared (as i was a child) of the thought of killer animatronics, so i wanted to keep my distance. i would always go to chuck e cheese with them, and they’d always talk about how chuck is gonna’ come alive and stuff. it was funny. i still really like chuck e. cheese :)

but then around 2019-2020, i found those comic dubs on youtube of both the ‘ask goldie anything’ and ‘springtrap and delilah’ series i fell in love with both of them immediately! (little disclaimer i’ve heard of the stuff that the springtrap and delilah creator did- i do not support them!! but anyways, back to it-) my autistic ass 11-12 year old self was going wild!!! i would watch them over and over again. the springtrap and delilah comic dub was actually how i found out springtrap killed kids and stuff, i didn’t know the whole purple guy bit till later, but to say i was scared was an understatement- i remember hiding under my covers at night thinking ‘AH!! springtrap’s gonna’ get me!’ … good times. :)

when security breach was announced i was ecstatic!!:D i found out about 8bitryan and dawko a bit after that, then looking into the lore, all of the games, the rabbit hole, if you will.

i remember that christmas, getting my grubby hands on all of the games on mobile i could buy, playing them all as much as i could even if i was scared. it was great.

before security breach came out, i really loved fnaf vr. getting my hands on a vr headset and all just to play it for myself!! i was (and still am) a very big glitchtrap enjoyer! used to watch that one cosplayer who played as glitchtrap and would do those ‘glitchtrap looks himself up on google’ and ‘glitchtrap reads your comments’. can’t remember their name- it i find it i’ll put it here! but i loved it. still do!

i would go on vrchat for hours and roleplay!! i really liked (still do) funtime freddy, used to think i could do an impression of him and i would rp and stuff as him… simple times- it was so amazing. that’s how i’ve met some of my best friends, and both of my boyfriends! i would die without them<33

then when security breach came out- oh i was waiting down to the SECOND it released! i stayed up for hours playing it- so exited!! even though it has its quirks, it’s still one of my favorites from the franchise, its what got me into it- like, really into it.

then the pipeline of making my ocs— i had a whole world planned out in my head for a fangame. might revisit it one day. who knows?

but then we have the present. the fnaf movie (in my opinion) was absolutely wonderful!!! so exited for the second- have hardly looked into fnaf vr 2 and the ruin dlc, (i know it’s been a year-) but i’ll get to it. all fandoms have it’s quirks, but i still love it. thank you Scott Cawthon, and the fnaf community for being such a big part of my life. i would really be lost today without it.

Thoughts on rewind? I... Kinda see where YT tried to go with it, as in acknowledging the mess of last year, but at the same time they put zero effort into it, they literally just took all videos from other people and slammed them together... Also really didn't like the whole attitude of highlighting just numeric values of views :/

First and foremost, it’s…. so lazy. It’s mocking viewers who want something good. It’s so contrived that they literally prefaced their video with “so you didn’t like what we did in 2018 rewind [shows the large dislike ratio] so here’s something you did like this year”. The whole tone was like, “so our product was sh!t? Well here’s something you ‘might like’.” Accompanied with rolling eyes and looking at their metric views.

The whole tone was such a joke.

And the whole “top 10″ or “top 5″ thing. I cannot believe they made it one big WatchMojo formula! At least WatchMojo has their brand set on the Top X formula!

I’m just– did Youtube let their algorithm reign? Is that their “product” now? I can’t blame them, they seem to let their algorithm win too many times. I guess it was just time for them to accept it.

It annoys me so, so much. “Here’s the top music videos” excuse? Me? Like, thank god Lil Nas X was there but seriously? “Top dance videos” okay, my favorite creators weren’t there (Skeezy) so really, it’s just view counts. The guys who were known this year? I’m glad they achieved those. God, at least Kurzgesagt was acknowledged.

And at least Seth was there, a short highlight, and Mr. Beast, Eugene Lee Yang– but really, their “presence in the YT Rewind” is virtually nothing because it was just their videos!

It’s like that Facebook thing. They just compile your stuff and say “this is your year”. But that’s not true. We just didn’t “like” everything. We followed those creators because we believed in their content.

It lacked so much heart, and that’s what Youtube Creators put in their content. It was the effort that we love.

It’s so, so absolutely disgusting that those who were put in charge for this Youtube Rewind lacked those! No heart, no effort, nothing!

And what hurts me the most that my favorite creators– who at least had a passing glance, a passing presence, or maybe 10 seconds even in the outro– was not there! Don’t get me for the lack of gamers, for the lack of animators!

But good god! I was mad because Sean/Jacksepticeye who helped raise charity so many times this year, or Matpat/GameTheory and the whole gang of #CancelCancer (TheOdds1Out, Rosanna Pansino, Try Guys, Dawko, gd Scott Cawthon’s FNAF series) was not even mentioned! Heck, I know they made so much more impressive stuff this year, I just couldn’t enumerate because I’m not a big fan.

But if there’s anything I am “qualified” to evaluate is Mark… not being there.

I was so, so disappointed at the lack of Mark most especially– because this guy and the whole AHWM crew worked their asses off to make something that Youtube Originals could see was amazing and yet nothing! That was five months of filming and editing and sorts! The guy was juggling so many workloads just so he could get out videos and make AHWM be amazing and what happened?

Nothing of the sorts! The 500k charity he raised in 24 hours? No mention!

Because why? Because it all depended on the like ratio!

I’m sure if MrBeast didn’t have such a huge fanbase who was dedicated into liking the video his efforts for the TeamTrees would be not even mentioned!

It’s so, so contrived. I’m sorry for the rant but what the hell, Youtube.

They didn’t even try living up to their first Rewind, or even the last Rewind. Did they forget that Rewind was a homage to the creators who made Youtube for what it is that year? Did they forget that it was a conglomeration of what made it unique from a different year and an avenue for people to come together and celebrate?

Did they just give up? What a joke this year was. I thought Youtube Rewind 2018 was bad and surely it was, but at least it had people go together. Here?

Nothing at all. Nothing.

What would be Youtube’s next move for 2020? “Apparently you didn’t like the Top 10 Format. We’re going to give it to the creators whom you seem to think could handle it better”. I’d love that because guess what, I’m sure they could do  better jobs.

alright, fine I’ll tell ya’ll (TL;DR is at the bottom lol)

I came up with the crackship back in like 2019 after rewatching the Scott and Dawko interview, and listening to “Make Your Move” by CG5 and Dawko, which is what inspired the Yandere!Scott concept. I drew smth that was like FNaF Show!Dawko x Scott Cawthon or Animdude, and posted it to the FNaF subreddit for a reaction, apparentally forgetting that Lewis is a huge member of that subreddit and that Scott’s the literal owner of the damn thing (neither of them saw it, to my knowledge-)

It didn’t take long for the comments to start rolling in, some of which were playing along, while most of them were people wondering what tf they were looking at, which was understandable. Then out of nowhere, I get a comment from someone saying how they shipped it, and they were taking it a little too seriously. I saw their user flair which said they were part of the mod team, so I decided to check the front page of the subreddit to confirm it, and lo and behold there was their name neatly lined up underneath the moderators. 

At first I just thought “weird, but ‘aight-” and then went to bed thinking that everyone would forget about this by tomorrow.

Boy was my dumbass wrong

I come back the next day to multiple comment notifications in my inbox, and when I read them I see that they’re all from the same comment thread which was a convo between the one moderator that took the ship a little too seriously, and another mod who was like “bitch tf-”

I read the entire thread, and oh boy it was not pretty. These two were just going back and forth, with the first moderator revealing some stuff about themselves that probably should’ve remained private. It was around there that I stopped reading cause it didn’t seem to get any better. The entire thread had the same energy as when you’re over at a friend’s house, and the family starts fighting about something you don’t know about, all the while you’re just standing there like 🧍‍♀️

Since I didn’t learn my lesson the first time, I just thought that everyone would forget about this by the next day or so, and went to post my Dawko x Scott stuff somewhere where people would understand that it wasn’t meant to be taken seriously, and that it was all for shits and giggles. 

And then magically, people did seem to forget about it.

For at least a few weeks.

I came back a few weeks after the whole debacle, and the first thing I see is a pinned post from another moderator with the title “’moderator name’ has been removed from the mod team”

When I tell you that my stomach fucking DROPPED when I read that title, I mean it. It didn’t get any better for me at least, as I read the actual post which was just your typical “moderator has been removed from the mod team for x and y reason” y’know the usual. But then I saw that another moderator provided a whole ass LIST of reasons for why they came to this decision.

Despite my better judgement, I decided to go down the list and wouldn’t you know it, there it was.

The second to last item on the list:

“Supported a ship between Scott and Dawko”

Now you can say this was just a coincidence, or whatever, but the timing is just too perfect for me. It was only literal WEEKS between when I posted the joke crackship art and got that comment, and the announcement that the same moderator was kicked off the team. The fact that they came to this decision only after my posts and were already thinking of removing this moderator for a while, only convinces me that my stupid crackship was the straw that broke the camel’s back.

TL;DR: I might’ve accidentally gotten a moderator kicked off of the mod team on the FNaF subreddit, with my stupid crackship and obvious joke fanart
