Comments: Hah... the only reason I can remember what day this clutch went on a nest was because I'd taken them out of hibernal specifically to do a clutch of snowy tree dragons for Christmas, and then completely forgot to put them on a nest until it was already a day too late (when I hatched out the previous clutch I had brooding).

And as you can see from the dates, they ended up being a New Year's Eve clutch rather than even Boxing Day anyway, since I kept forgetting to incubate them.

ive been wondering how you decide where to add the line texture, like in places like this:

i love the feel they bring to your work and just wanted to know the thought process behind their placement :)

A!!! it's very vibes-based but now that i think abt it i usually use it fr one if not both of the following reasons:

highlight/shadow

fill "empty" space

fr highlight/shadow i like using it as an add-on to or in tandem with more blended areas to kind of. break things up a bit? i like it because it's not a hard cut to another colour but it's also not blended (idk how obvious it is in actual pieces but on their own the lines have this sort of chalky texture with little holes in them and they also aren't fully opaque) so it acts as a nice stagger between shades. n because of that i tend to use it in areas that aren't Fully lit or enveloped in shadow. keep in mind this is Not a hard and fast rule tho ghfhjfgg sometimes i disregard all of that and just throw it in2 the mix if an area is not cooperating with me or just looks like it's missing something :)
