The Yule Ball. Quite possibly the most hotly anticipated date in the school calendar. And you had nobody to go with.

All your friends had been asked, as they told you excitedly in late-night dorm room gossip sessions. You couldn't help but sigh with jealousy, even though you smiled and said you were happy for them. You never got any attention from anybody, and you kind of liked it that way, until this whole Yule Ball business got started. The announcement at the start of the year had got everybody excited, yourself included, but as time went on you grew rather fed up of hearing about it every five minutes. After half-term it got unbearable. Everybody talked about what dresses they were wearing, what shoes they had bought, accessories… it went on and on and on.

If you had to pick somebody to go with, it would be Cedric Diggory. But he’d already be going with someone, there was no way someone like him didn't have a date already.

You’d liked him ever since first year, since that time that your hands accidentally touched in potions, over some sliced Dragon skin. You’d never forgotten it, but you assumed that he had. But… recently, you’ve been catching him looking at you as you pass him in the corridor, more than what would be normal for such an interaction. It was like he was looking for you, actively seeking you out. It was so bizarre that you just couldn't fathom it. Hogwarts’ golden boy was looking at you? (not that it wasn’t warranted, you’re absolutely gorgeous) You shared a DADA class, and it was so weird… you could’ve sworn he spent more time trying to stare at you discreetly than listening to the professor. He was distracting you by doing absolutely nothing at all, and it finally came to a head when the professor asked you a question you couldn’t answer. He just blushed and said you didn’t know, earning you a, frankly, withering look.

You tripped through the rest of the day, confused, until you felt a hand on your shoulder after the end of school, when you were just about to head to your common room. You looked around, and it was Cedric.

‘Y/N… I have something to ask you.’ he said softly, looking into your eyes. He was displaying a rare moment of vulnerability! You stared back at him, too shocked to say anything. He took it as a sign to continue.

‘Listen… I know this is probably a long shot, but would you like to… come to the ball with me?’

Your heart started beating at an alarming pace. You felt sure that he could hear it. Did he really just ask you that? To go to the ball with him? You almost fainted. Before you could do anything silly, you nodded emphatically, a huge grin plastered on your face. He reciprocated it, making your already-madly-beating heart melt.

So that was it. You did have someone to go with after all! Now all of your friend’s boasting made total sense. You wanted to go and scream it out from the Astronomy tower:

I’M GOING TO THE BALL WITH CEDRIC DIGGORY!

But you didn’t. Obviously.

TIMESKIP: THE EVENING OF THE YULE BALL

Tonight’s the night! You had bought your outfit, your shoes, and all the various detritus that comes with an evening out. The weeks following Cedric’s asking you out were nothing like you had ever experienced before. You found him asking you every day how you were, how school was, what your workload was like, etcetera. But he was asking you to actually spend time with him, something you’d never been asked to do before. It was like a dream. Being with Cedric was just so easy - you found out who he really was, outside of his golden-boy persona. He was so lovely, and charming too, and it wasn’t hard to start catching feelings for him. Not that that was any bad thing, of course.

Nobody did much work at school that day, all were too busy dreaming about the night ahead of them. You would not be ashamed to admit that you were among them. The teachers gave you all knowing looks and didn’t set any homework, knowing what you’d all be up to the instant school was finished for the day. It turned out that they were correct: straight after potions, you shot to the common room at lightning speed, opening the door of your dorm to all your giggling friends, already drunk on the party atmosphere of the party that wouldn’t start for hours.

It continued as the hours passed and you all got ready, laughing and smiling. You were genuinely really looking forward to it, more than you thought you would. Most of all, you were excited to see Cedric and spend the night with him. Hair done, outfit on, shoes on, you looked an absolute picture. Staring at yourself in the mirror, you couldn’t really believe it was you. All your friends looked similarly stunning, and marvelled at your ethereal beauty. After that, well, it was time. Descending your dorm room stairs like a host of heavenly angels, everyone in the common room turned their gaze to you. Some of the girls paired off with their dates in the same house, and some of them walked off to meet theirs elsewhere.

Cedric was nowhere to be found, and you grew anxious. Your friends reassured you and told you that he was probably waiting for you at the ball. You nodded, took a deep breath, and headed towards the Great Hall. it wasn’t an easy task in your shoes, but you managed well enough, until you saw the stairs. You decided to stand regally at the top of the staircase for a moment, like royalty surveying their kingdom, to delay your descent. You glanced around worriedly, looking for your date. The hall was decorated immaculately; stars twinkling where the ceiling would be, snow on the white floor, glittering silver tinsel and baubles everywhere the eye could see.

Like a charm, Cedric was standing at the bottom of the large staircase, just staring at you, open-mouthed. He himself looked striking in a black tuxedo and dress robes, his white bow tie tied perfectly. His stunned face gave you the encouragement you needed to start descending the stairs, almost gliding, in fact. You reached him, and he finally recovered.

‘Y/N… I can’t believe this. You look absolutely stunning.’ he said, taking your hand and placing a kiss upon it.

‘Well, Cecric, it has to be said, you do clean up pretty well.’ you quipped back. ‘But seriously, you look fantastic. Really handsome.’ you added quietly, blushing a little. It was true! He really did look amazing, like your very own Prince Charming.

He offered you his arm, smiling, and led you into the hall. He chatted to you whilst you got drinks, and you stood together at the side of the room, sipping on wonderfully fruity mocktails. After a while, he threw you a smirk and held out his hand. You knew what came next. Dancing with Cedric Diggory! You never thought you’d see the day.

Just as you made your way to the dance floor, the up-tempo tune changed to a slow waltz. You’d been dreading a situation like this; luckily, Cedric knew what to do. He held you close, arms around you, and gently pulled you along with him. Eventually, you found the beat and your feet just moved themselves. Once you didn’t have to put all your focus on not tripping over, this dancing business was actually rather enjoyable! You looked up at him for the first time, your eyes locking instantly. He was a much better view than your shoes. You held his gaze throughout the whole rest of the song, and even when it finished, you just stood there, looking at each other.

You finally broke your trance, noticing that the waltz had been replaced with a fast-paced number. The change was almost painful. Once again, Cedric knew exactly what to do; it was like he’d been practising (he probably had been, just to impress you). He held your hands and you jumped around together, attracting the most scathing looks, but for once in your life not caring in the slightest.

And so it carried on that way, hour after precious hour, changing how you danced with each new song. From crazy jigging to Viennese waltzing, you did it all.

Finally, at the end of the evening, he tucked your arm in his and walked you back to your common room, leaving you with a soft kiss on the cheek to remember the night by. You couldn’t sleep that night; your head was filled with the technicolour whirlwind of an evening. Of course, you’d see him tomorrow, and probably every day after that until the end of time, but you would remember that night for the rest of your life.

You couldn’t wait.

Cedric is a true definition of a gentleman, he undoubtedly has that chivalry touch about him, he's polite, honest, and kind. He would put your jacket around you as soon as he noticed you shivering even just a little, offer you his arm when you're about to walk somewhere, hold a door open for you, kisses you on the forehead, kisses your hand when the both of you have to part ways and never lets you pay a cent during a date that requires paying, because he enjoys paying for you and never wants anything in return. The affection of kisses, hugs and more means the world to him.

He calls you cute nicknames like Angel, Heaven, My World, or Sweetheart.

He would take you out every Sunday morning to madame Puddifoot's tea shop for some tea, with sugar and milk just how you like it, while Cedric makes it a habit to make paper rings out of the tissues provided on each table for customers, then he'd take your left-hand kisses it and put the ring on you ring finger before saying "One day It'll be a real ring that shines and glimmer the way your eyes do when it hits the sun", that line never fails to make you smile and blush, so you smile at him kindly while he returns it sipping your tea away.

You have to get on your tippy toes to kiss him because he's built like a tree which never fails to make him laugh and smile at how adorable you are, but you'd pout every time he laughs at you so in return he lowers himself to your level and says "go on" then you would smile and ruffle his hair as messy as you can which leave the both of you to laugh and blush.

He uses his prefect power to go out after hours, his excuse is that he's patrolling around the castle before bed and sneak you up to the astronomy tower when there's no class available and stargaze there, then he'd ramble about all the stars that he knows about which you find really interesting and amusing.

He's the best at giving advice about anything and you've always taken it without hesitation because his advice has worked in your favor every time, he just seems to know what's best for you always.

Him chasing you all over the place to give him a hug after Hufflepuff's quidditch practice when he's all sweaty, smelly, and sticky.

When it comes to sex he's very gentle with you making sure to put you first before himself and a praiser too, despite how much you drive him crazy with lust because of how attractive you are to him, so it's mostly slow, passionate sex but when he's in the mood to just please you, he gets you to sit on his lap while he fingers you, touch your breast and kiss your neck and shoulder as you moan in pleasure. He lets you dress him up in your clothes for fun, put makeup on him, and even tie his hair into a short ponytail. He puts up with it all just to see you laugh your nose off, as long as you're happy he's happy too.

Whenever you achieve something big and you'd tell him excitedly he picks you up in the air and spins you around laughing with you and saying "I'm so proud of you my sweetheart" with a huge smile on his face before putting you down and giving you a passionate kiss.

I absolutely despise people who refuse to see both sides in an argument/are bad at communicating when we are close. i hate super hot days. i hate a lot of different foods. my favorite books include powerless, the inheritance games and six of crows. my favorite movies are really any rom com or fantasy movies! my ideal winter date would be ice skating or going to the part and playing in the snow. i feel like all winter dates need hot cocoa though. like that is a must!!!

BACKSTORY

Hannah was born in Great Britain or Ireland on September 5, 1979. She was a member of the pure-blood wizarding Abbott family that was one of the so-called Sacred Twenty-Eight, though she herself was a half-blood because her mother was a muggle.

Hannah began attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry on 1 September 1991, along with Harry Potter.

Since Hannah's surname, Abbott, was the first alphabetically, she was the first new student in her year to be sorted into her house during the Start-of-Term Feast. She was Sorted into Hufflepuff House, along with other new students Ernie Macmillan, Susan Bones, and Justin Finch-Fletchley. She shared a dormitory with her fellow Hufflepuff classmates; Megan Jones, Susan Bones, and others.

In 1992, Hannah's second year, when the Chamber of Secrets had been reopened, Hannah was one of the many students who believed that Harry Potter was the Heir of Slytherin after it became known that he was a Parselmouth. She was initially sceptical, saying that Harry 'always seemed so nice', but was eventually convinced by her friend Ernie Macmillan that Harry was the one that had attacked Muggle-born students around Hogwarts, including her housemate and friend Justin Finch-Fletchley, which didn't go down well with Hannah, unsettling her.

When Hermione was attacked by the Basilisk, Ernie and Hannah apologised, knowing Harry would never harm her. Ernie asked Harry if he believed that Draco Malfoy was the Heir of Slytherin, to which Harry replied with a quick no, causing both Ernie and Hannah to stare.[14] It was later revealed that Malfoy was not the culprit after Harry defeated Tom Riddle, destroying his diary horcrux and Slytherin's basilisk in the Chamber of Secrets. Hannah was present at the End-of-Term Feast, after all the students who were petrified were returned to their normal state.

In 1993, her third year, when news got out that Sirius Black had escaped from Azkaban, Hannah held the belief that Black could transform himself into a flowering shrub to avoid detection, and would tell this theory to anyone who would listen.

Even though her theory of transforming into a shrub was incorrect, Sirius Black did in fact use a transformation to avoid detection and escape Azkaban; however, his transformation was into the form of a dog. Hannah's belief that Sirius could transform into a flowering shrub was likely to have originated from her liking of Herbology and the Professor of Herbology, Pomona Sprout, who was her Head of House.

During 1994, Hannah's fourth year, Hannah helped collect Bubotuber pus in Herbology, which Madam Pomfrey used for treating acne to prevent students from taking more desperate measures. Hannah noted that Eloise Midgen had tried to curse her pimples off.

This year, Hogwarts hosted the Triwizard Tournament and Hannah's fellow Hufflepuff Cedric Diggory was one of the Triwizard finalists. Hannah fully supported him during the tournament's tasks, as he was also in Hufflepuff. Hannah was among the many Hufflepuffs who were displeased when Harry appeared to be usurping Cedric's rightful place, by becoming the second Hogwarts champion during the Triwizard Tournament, and she showed support only for her fellow Hufflepuff. This was because Hufflepuff never received much attention, and she, along with many others, felt Harry was taking the glory away from Diggory. To show her support, she wore a Support CEDRIC DIGGORY — the REAL Hogwarts Champion! badge that was able to change to read POTTER STINKS.

Again, as in her second year, Hannah spent a lot of her free time revising in the Great Hall with Ernie Macmillan, presumably studying for her O.W.L.s which were coming up the following year. The two of them also attended at least one Hogsmeade weekend and were swapping Chocolate Frog Cards at a table at The Three Broomsticks.

Later in this same year, Cedric Diggory was murdered by Lord Voldemort, and Harry won the Triwizard Tournament, but this did not matter to Hannah, as Cedric's death made the winner rather irrelevant. Hannah was then presumably amongst the students that believed Harry Potter's claims that Lord Voldemort had indeed returned, and that the Second Wizarding War had really broken out.

In 1995, her fifth year, Hannah was made a prefect for Hufflepuff House, along with Ernie Macmillan. Shortly after the beginning of term, it became apparent that Dolores Umbridge was not going to be teaching practical means of Defence Against the Dark Arts, and Hannah decided to join Dumbledore's Army, a secret Defence Against the Dark Arts group started by Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley.

She was also one of the minority who believed that Lord Voldemort was back, likely due to the fact that Cedric Diggory, a student of her house, was claimed by Harry Potter to have been murdered by the Dark Lord in the previous year.

The pressure of studying for her O.W.L.s had definitely got to Hannah, and she broke down in tears during a Herbology class, after claiming to be too stupid to take her exams. She was then taken to the Hospital Wing, where Madam Pomfrey treated her with a Calming Draught. Despite being treated, Hannah still managed to let pressure get the better of her and during her Transfiguration practical exam, she accidentally multiplied a ferret into a flock of flamingos.

Hannah made it through the rest of her exams, and, approaching the end of the year, Hannah was one of the D.A. members who aided Harry when he was attacked by Draco Malfoy, Gregory Goyle, and Vincent Crabbe at the end of their fifth year, proving her loyalty and friendship still to Dumbledore's Army, even after its initial purpose had been rendered redundant.

At some point within the school year, she was a Charms Tutor, providing a service to fellow classmates to teach them charms.

In 1996, Hannah returned to her sixth year at Hogwarts. Early on during her sixth year, Hannah was told during a Herbology lesson that her mother, Mrs Abbott, had been murdered earlier in the day, presumably by Death Eaters. As a result of this, Hannah was subsequently pulled out of Hogwarts and did not return for the rest of the year. She was not in school at the time of Headmaster Albus Dumbledore's demise at the hands of Severus Snape. It is possible, as a result of missing most of her sixth year, Hannah would be required to retake the year's courses.

Hannah was compelled to return to Hogwarts in 1997, as Lord Voldemort had taken over the Ministry of Magic and attendance at Hogwarts had become mandatory for all pure or half-blood students; Muggle-borns had to go before a Muggle-Born Registration Commission prior to being admitted to Hogwarts. It is possible, as Hannah had missed her previous year of education, she would be made to resit the year, making her technically a sixth year student once again.

Hannah was present on the train when it was stormed by Death Eaters in search of Harry Potter. She also witnessed fellow classmate Neville stand up to them and inform them that Harry was not aboard the train.

Whilst back at Hogwarts, Hannah became a member of the revived Dumbledore's Army, now operating under the leadership of Neville Longbottom, Luna Lovegood, and Ginny Weasley in the absence of Harry, Ron and Hermione. United once again, Dumbledore's Army continued to train students in battle and defence, and the group ran riot around Hogwarts, making the life for new Headmaster Severus Snape and Death Eaters Amycus Carrow and Alecto Carrow difficult.

When Harry Potter returned to Hogwarts on 1 May 1998, Hannah stayed at the school and fought in the Battle of Hogwarts. She battled against Death Eaters and Lord Voldemort. Initially, she was part of the group of students led by Fred and George Weasley. Hannah's group was charged with defending the secret passages into Hogwarts from invading Death Eaters.

Hannah witnesses Harry Potter's final defeat of Lord Voldemort, thus ending the Second Wizarding War.

During the second stage of the battle, she witnessed Voldemort and his Death Eaters gloating over Harry's 'dead body'. She was then forced into the Great Hall, along with the other defenders of Hogwarts. Harry saved her and Seamus Finnigan with a Shield Charm when Lord Voldemort sent a curse their way. Hannah stood witness to Harry's final defeat of Voldemort, thus surviving the Second Wizarding War

Having missed a year in education, it is likely that, like Hermione Granger, Hannah would resit the same year and they would graduate together in 1999.

After that, however, Hannah decided she needed a refuge and an escape from everything. She bought a house out in the countryside as her own little retreat where she could paint and garden in peace. Eventually she turned her home in to a bed and breakfast.

After all she went through, the quiet, simpler life is something she desperately was in need of.

I suppose there is no better way to christen my new blog than to talk about new movie releases. Well, relatively new, considering this movie is almost a year old now, but it's recent enough and I am annoyed beyond words, so I suppose this topic will have to do.

Please bear in mind, this is not my best work by far. Like stated in my blog description, these ramblings are asinine in nature, and I am very bored.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is, in my opinion, the weakest film in the cycle to date. The plot is incredibly simplistic in nature, and the abrupt tone shift compared to the previous films felt incredibly forced. If I were to describe this movie in a word, I would call it "filler". Compared to the previous installments, there was no mystery to be solved. It has the atmosphere of a drama rather than a fantasy like how the previous movies and books are marketed. I'm going to be writing about spoilers, so if you have not already seen the film or read the book, you should scroll away now.

The "secret society" that the aforementioned Order of the Phoenix is supposed to be is hardly a secret at all. It's meant to be the leading force against the return of Voldemort, which the Ministry of Magic has been keeping under wraps and vehemently denying is happening at all despite the incident at the Quiddich World Cup, Barty Crouch Jr taking the place of Alastor Moody for an entire school year at Hogwarts, and the death of Cedric Diggory during the Goblet of Fire. Everyone and their mother knows that the Order of the Phoenix exists due to how many "powerful" individuals are members of it, including Professor Dumbledore himself.

Do not get me started on what was done to Dolores Umbridge. In the book she believed she had been doing the right thing, that the Ministry of Magic was the only source of reliable information. But in the movie, she had been watered down to a shallow and spiteful bully. Her motives turned from believing what she is doing to be right to just being cruel, and it sucked everything interesting the already very plain plot had to offer.

I have much more to say about this, but the post is already getting long, and I was not fully prepared to write a dissertation about why I hated some silly children's movie my mother forced me to watch with her on opening night.

i know for a fact he loves to plant small kisses on your head, cheek, or temple, whenever he has the chance to. he would also love to hold your hand no reassure him that you’re just right there beside him. 

b  ━ baby. would he want one in the future?

cedric was unsure of the thought of being a father due to the pressure amos gave him growing up. but over the past few years the two of you have been dating, you had constantly reminded him how he would be a great father one day. 

c  ━ cuddling. how would the two of you cuddle?

he definitely loves being the big spoon. he embodies big spoon. he is the human form of the word “big spoon” in a relationship. and because of this, he had always held you close to his chest. your chest against his chest, or your back against his back. although, when there are days he just feels down and sad, he would want to be held by his lover. 

d  ━ dates. what kinds of dates would he bring you to?

cedric is such a thoughtful and caring man. i think he would plan one of your guys’ dates for almost a week, he wants every date the two of you have to be romantic and perfect. although, he knows that every moment with you is perfect as it is already. the dates he would bring you to are definitely those dates in a flower field, the astronomy tower, study dates, dates near the black lake, or just anywhere in hogsmeade. 

e  ━ emotions. how does he show his emotions around you?

everyone knows that cedric had standards and expectations to exceed. this caused him not enough time to learn how to express his emotions, due to the fact he had always have pressure on him. but when it was the first time he had thought he failed his father ( let’s say...a test maybe ) he had found so much comfort in you that he hasn’t found in anyone in his past years. you had taught him how it was more than okay to let his emotions out. 

f  ━ family. would he want one in the future?

just like in letter b, he would want a baby although he had been unsure in the past. but during your guys’ relationship you had taught him how that he would be a great father. also, can i say how i know for a fact he would be the best girl dad in the world. 

g  ━ gentle. how gentle is he in the relationship? 

he is so gentle with you in the relationship to the point there aren’t even the words to describe it. he treats you like you’re a glass that is so close to its breaking point. he would NEVER, be harsh with you. ( unless yk, its yk. )

h  ━ hands. how would he want to hold hands with you? 

literally any form of hand holding, he loves. but he would prefer both of your hands intertwined with one another. he finds it much more comforting that the other forms of hand holding. 

i  ━ injury. how would he act if you were injured?

the way cedric worries for you is on a whole other level. if it was just a paper scratch or just any type of small scratch he would not worry so much compared to how he would worry if you had a broken bone, a really big scratch with a bruise. if you only had a small scratch, he would press a light kiss on your skin where the scratch is located and put a band-aid. but, if it was a sport injury or a broken bone, he would worry so freaking much. if you ended up in the hospital wing, he would beg madam promfrey to let him stay in the chair beside you all night. 

j  ━ jealousy. does he get jealous easily? 

the moment you and cedric started dating, he was so conscious of his actions as he knew he would get jealous way too easily as he also already knew that every boy/girl/preferred, would hit on you due to the fact that you are one good ass looking human being. but back to the subject, cedric would definitely get jealous easily but he was ready to fight off anyone who would hit on you. 

k  ━ kiss. what kinds of kisses would he give/who initiated the first kiss?

i think it would depend on the mood he was having in that certain moment. 

he initiated the first kiss for sure. you were just talking about something you were so passionate about to him in the astronomy tower one night to the point he couldn’t help himself.

he did. although, i don’t think it was “i love you”, i think it would have been “i’m in love with you” or “i have been in love with you since...” 

m  ━ memory. what is his favorite memory with you? 

honestly, i think every moment he has spent with you is his favorite memory. although i think his favorite memory with you is the moment when the both of you first met each other.

like if you did so much as got out of bed and went about your morning routine, he’s proud of you

especially if the past few days have been pretty rough on you
