Only one date is ever mentioned in-game, that being 2021. Considering that the Virtual Singer Fan Festa seems to be a stand-in for Magical Mirai 2021, we can assume that the Scramble Fan FESTA! event takes place in September 2021 (the real-life MM2021 was delayed to November due to covid-19, but the pandemic doesn't exist in-universe and MM Tokyo usually takes place at the beginning of September). There are Leo/need Daily Life social media posts that show them attending Magical Mirai, and do state the year of the event, but these can be considered promotional material for the event itself rather than canon material, especially since the characters address in-game that only one year has passed since the start of the story (despite the fact they have celebrated new year's day 4 times now. Timeloop things).

Based on this date, we can actually place exactly when every main character was born. The cutoff date for Japanese schools is April 1st, making Ena the oldest main character, being a 3rd year with a birthday of April 30th, followed by Tsukasa on May 17th, so on so forth all the way down to Kohane, a 2nd year with a birthday of March 2nd.

Considering when Scramble Fan FESTA is set, Ena, who was a 2nd year at the time, would be 17 years old. That would place her date of birth as April 30th, 2004. Additionally, while Kohane, a first year at the time, should be 15 during the event, the game considers her to be 16 due to using a set age for every grade bracket. Regardless, the event setting places her date of birth as March 2nd, 2006.

Based on this, we can conclude that:

Ena, Tsukasa, Rui, and Shizuku were born in 2004

Mafuyu, Kanade, Airi, Minori, Saki, Toya, Nene, An, Ichika, Mizuki, Emu, Haruka, Honami, and Akito were born in 2005

Shiho and Kohane were born in 2006

This also means that Ena, Tsukasa and Rui are all older than the MEIKO software (released November 5th 2004), and everyone except Kohane is older than the KAITO software (released February 17th 2006). Every main character is older than Miku, the Kagamines, and Luka based on this information.

Using the information around set ages*, we can also work out rough estimates for when the side characters were born. For example, Arata, who was 19 during the first 3 years of the game, is 3 years older than the members of VBS who were all considered to be 16. Since the members of VBS were born in the April 2005 - April 2006 school year range, Arata was likely born in the 2002-2003 school year range.

* based on how characters like Youta and Miu, who are said to be the same age as Leo/need, were both confirmed to be 16 years old before the 3rd anniversary age-up. Also Haruka's age is confirmed as 16 at a point in time when she shouldn't be 16. Timeloop things.

Based on this, the oldest living side character, Kounosuke, who was 55 pre-3rd anniversary and 39 years older than Emu, was probably born between April 1966 and April 1st 1967. On the younger side of things, Hanano, who was 14 pre-3rd anni, was likely born between April of 2007 and 2008. I've put the rest of the estimated side character DOBs under the cut.

Additional notes (mod is rambling atp):

Rakunosuke died when he was 98 years old. In the WxS main story, Emu says that he died a year ago. Assuming Emu was 15 at the time, they have an age gap of around 83 years. The year of birth listed here was based on that assumption.

We know that Kanade's mother died aged 30, but we do not know when she died. She is still alive in flashbacks set roughly 10 years prior to the events of game.

In the third fanbook, ages were given for Mrs Asahina, Shindou, Yuuki, Asahi, and Arisa as one year less than they are given in this post. The reason for me adding a year on is because of the confirmation in a livestream of Daigo's age being 27. Daigo is meant to be the same age as Shousuke, whose age was given as 27 prior to the 3rd anniversary. When his age was provided on stream, he was grouped with the 5 I mentioned earlier. Based on this we can assume that all their ages are taken from the same time frame, i.e, pre-3rd anni (and this also confirms that NPCs inexplicably don't age but we'll ignore that for continuity reasons).

We do not have confirmed ages for Nagi, Reki, Sakaki, Ohara, MMJ's landlady, Mafuyu's father, Hiiragi, or the members of ReLight yet

Rui suggests that Reki is the same age as him in A Story Where You Are The Star while talking about both him and Asahi in the same sentence. Asahi was since confirmed as 18/19, so it is likely that Reki is also around that age.

Nagi's age is left blank in the fanbook due to it not being revealed that she was dead at the time of publication. She is younger than Taiga, but we don't know by how much, but nonetheless she was likely born in the early 1980s. It is unlikely we will ever know her exact age.

Ohara is stated to be in his mid-30s, placing his birth year as somewhere in the 1980s, likely around 1986-1989. Sakaki is an old college friend of Ohara's, so he is likely a similar age.

When was the last time George saw John?

There is not an exact date. What I know is:

George mentioned in an interview that he went to the Dakota in autumn 1978.

One of George's brothers said that George was so protective of his newborn son that he didn't let him out of sight for three months and even his brother wasn't allowed to hold him during that time. Dhani Harrison was born in August 1st 1978.

With that information, I'm guessing that the last time John and George saw each other face to face was probably in November 1978. But nothing is certain.

The Hardest Part Is Over;

Summary: We've seen multiple timelines throughout the Halloween series, involving Laurie Strode. But what if there was one out there she got a real happy ending with Jamie, John, and Karen?

One where Michael’s rain of terror ended at the Haddonfield Memorial Hospital on November 1st, 1978. 

Timeline notes:

Karen is four years older than John and was born in 1980. 

She and John have the same shitty dad that Laurie left shortly after John was born. 

A couple of years later she met Jimmy Lloyd again and the two became friends, and eventually got married. Having Jamie when John was nine.

“Okay, so, you press ‘X’ to jump—” John gently led Jamie's hand to the X-button on the controller, not taking his eyes off of the screen as he explained the controls to her. “Good, that's good. Now, for a bigger jump—or a double jump, as some call it—you have to press the x-button twice.”

Jamie nodded to show that she was listening, allowing her older brother to lead her. Trying not to let the family dog, Sundae—a puppy that their neighbors the Carruthers had gifted her on her last birthday—, distract her (which was hard considering he kept trying to steal her baby doll so that he could chew on it). 

Both unaware of the fact that their mom, a now forty year old Laurie Lloyd (née Strode) who was now the headmistress of John’s school—Hillcrest Academy—was watching them with a smile from the kitchen. 

“What’re they playing?” Her husband and Jamie's father, Jimmy—fresh in the door from his shift at the hospital, asked pouring himself a cup of coffee. 

“Some game John bought. I think it was called Scooby Doo and the… Cipher Place?” The blonde scrunched up her nose, scratching her brain for an answer. 

Even then she wasn't quite sure that she had remembered the title right. 

But that was alright, because just then Karen swooped in with her car keys and bookbag in hand. Running late for her psychology class at the local university. “It's Cyber Chase, not Cipher Place.”

Jimmy tilted his head to the side, a slightly amused smile making its way onto his face. “I thought John said he was ‘too old’ to like Scooby doo.”

Karen rolled her eyes. “He did, but he didn't get it for him. He got it for Jamie because she asked to play with him and he didn't want his other games to scare her. Gotta go, my alarm didn't go off and I lost track of the time.”

“Alright. Have a good evening, Kare-bear. Don't stay out too late.”

“No promises, mom.” The younger blonde called back, rushing out the door. Jimmy sighing as they watched her go. “They grow up so fast.”

Laurie groaned. “Don't remind me. I can't believe John is going to be joining Karen at college soon. It feels like it was just yesterday that I was helping Karen support his little head as she held him for the first time and now my little girl is going to be a child psychologist. And John is dating.” 

“I don't think I'm gonna survive it when Jamie starts complaining that she's too old to be seen with us in public.” Jimmy was joking but his tone was a bit too serious for his wife's liking. 

“Don't jinx it. I'm still holding out hope that she skips that particular phase.”

“2 out of 3—”

“Twice is a coincidence and three times is a pattern. There's still every chance she won't take after her siblings in that aspect.”

Just then, Jamie and John both cheered and high fived about something that happened in their game. Doing their little secret handshake as they celebrated. 

“You were saying?”

Laurie just sighed. 

Hopefully Jamie's ‘I hate my parents, they're embarrassing’ phase lasted shorter than Karen and John’s did and hopefully it was much, much, much shorter than Jimmy and Laurie's own phases (after that Halloween night neither of them liked to think of) did.

Minions are actually very intelligent creatures but the male tribe has a tendency to hide it with their language  and with playful, childish and frolic behavior;

The female tribe doesn't hide intelligence, most of the minion girls is still playful and frolic, though - sometimes even more than the boys;

Some minions (in both tribes) are serious and less frolic, of course;

Balthazar has a daughter he never met - despite his megalomaniac personality, he had a girlfriend who he eventually left behind on his villainous way;

Her name was Roselle Moreau and she didn't tell Balthazar she's pregnant when he was leaving because she felt he wouldn't stay anyway;

Balthazar's daughter is named Colette Moreau, she's 21 years old (b. 5th October 2002; Libra = the Scales) and she's a shy and reserved yet very talented hobby dancer and a university student of Philosophy (Toronto university);

Colette doesn't know exactly who her father is/was because Roselle doesn't want to talk about him - she only told her daughter her father was a jerk and a criminal, so Collete isn't looking for him;

Fact: Balthazar is Canadian, was born there and was living there until the age of 11 - I made this headcanon because of how he spoke French in Despicable Me 3 without any problems. My first thoughts of why his French is so good were that he's either somebody who's good at learning languages or somebody whose native language is French (which appealed to me more) - however, I would expect him to have at least a slight French accent if he was meant to be from France (which is characteristic for one of my OCs of this AU). That's why I decided to put Balthazar in a country that has two official languages and one of them is French (so the accent doesn't have to be there) - I eventually chose Canada;

After 'Despicable Me 3", the male minion tribe divided - a bigger part of them ran away with Dru while the rest of the tribe, those who weren't willing to become villains again, stayed with Gru;

Mel (full name "Melvin" in my AU) is the actual alpha of the male minion tribe and the one who's in charge of Dru's group of minions;

Kevin, the second in charge, stayed with Gru and became an alpha of the smaller group of the minions at Gru's house - his reasons for it were simple: he developed slight PTSD after being in prison, he didn't feel any anger towards Gru anymore and was able to renew his loyalty and the most important, he himself wasn't interested in crime anymore and just wanted to have a nice and calm life;

A small chicken minion from "Minions: The Rise of Gru" is still alive - he lost almost all his feathers (except some feathers on his head and arms), his beak reformed into normal minion mouth, his teeth grew and even his arms and legs became more minion-like;

He also talks normally;

My headcanon: Stuart named his "child" Chico - it means "kid/boy" in Spanish and it also sounds like "chicken", a little. Chico is a complete opposite of his father: silent, shy, gentle, polite yet filled with energy. He stayed with Dave after Despicable Me 3 while Stuart ran away with Dru - Chico misses his dad but doesn't feel any anger towards him.

Fact: Minions can breed in my AU;

Mel is the oldest male minion and has seven younger brothers, (including Steve and Stuart, who's actually the youngest brother), as well as a big number of cousins;

This also means Chico is Mel's nephew;

Lucy left her relatives (those who are alive) because she wanted to take revenge on that villain who murdered her parents, grandparents and great-grandmother;

Her relatives didn't agree and one of them (Lucy's aunt, specifically) even got in an argument with Lucy, which ended up by Lucy leaving;

Lucy still feels guilty for leaving them behind and would be happy to meet them again, she doesn't have enough courage to return and fix the relationship with them, however;

Fact: Gru knows only a part of Lucy's past because she doesn't like to talk about it - he respects her and doesn't ask about it but he also told her if she ever needs to tell him, he will listen and help her;

Minions are almost immortal - they can't be injured by a lot of common things, they can't die of old age, however, there are some ways they can injure themselves and even ways they can die (for example beasts created by PX-41 serum can make them injuries they can't heal completely and they can even kill the minions);

Bonus fact!: Minions Mike and Ken (from "Panic in the Mailroom") survived the attack of three mutated kittens and currently lives with the female minion tribe;

They're covered with scars, one of Ken's eyes is missing, Mike is limping on his leg and they both also have PTSD, but otherwise they're doing pretty well;

Both Mike and Ken got married to two beautiful minion girls named Coco and Caroline "Carrie" - there are also some rumors among the female tribe saying Carrie might be pregnant;

Cover of the day: Day 8: Mint airmail envelope from the Soviet Union

I have another Soviet Stationery envelope to show you (Sorry, but it is one of my main interests), I'll try to post some variaty later, but not today! MUAHAHAHAH JK

Today I have something special for the 2^3rd anniversary! TWO COVERS, yes you heard me 2 whole covers!

The first one was sent... never, well because this is a mint cover (Mint means unused, but you probably already knew that) This is the first mint cover in the COTD series, so I can't talk about postmarks or when it was sent... because it was never sent!

This envelope has an indicium of a 1966 16 kopeck stamp, and it was made in 1977, to be specific the 11th of april, 'how do I know that' you may ask, (Almost) every paper item made in the USSR has the date of issue/manufacture printed and price on the back (This includes Envelopes, Postcards, Records, some books, ETC)

So thanks to Soviet standards, I and now you(!) can tell this envelope was issued on the 11th of April 1977.

Lets now talk about the cachet on this cover. The cachet features the Tupolev-154, a jet airliner produced by Tupolev in The Soviet Union and then The Russian Federation. It shouldn't be confused with the Tupolev-144, the (mostly) forgotten first supersonic jet airliner. It's first flight was about 2 months before the Concorde, and entered service less than 1 month before the Concorde, in December 1975. And the first passenger service (Between Moscow and Alma-Ata) in November 1977, but due to it being horribly designed, it wasn't very popular; reportedly you had to yell to the person for them to hear you, because the engines were so loud, even if they were sitting right next to you, and if they were sitting 2 seats away from you, you couldn't hear them even if they were screaming and the only way to communicate was by passing handwritten notes (Source), and it wasn't very nice to ride on them. That led to passenger services being cancelled only 7 months later on 1st of June 1978. But they remained in production until 1983, and were used by The Soviet Millitary , Soviet Space Program(Late 80s), and NASA (Until 1999!).

Oops I went on a bit of a tangent there. The TU-154 was produced from 1968 up until 2013(!), over a thousand were produced and are still in use by for passenger services in North Korea (They are predictably the only passenger user left), For millitary service in Russia, China and Kazakhstan, and Goverment service in Kyrgystan.

Of course being one of the most produced jet airliners ever, quite a lot of accidents and incidents have happened with TU-154's (110 accidents) for a total of 2911 fatalities. Moje Sožalje/My condolences.

Oh yeah, we have another cover to talk about. You may have asked yourselves 'How did you chose which two covers to add?'. Well its pretty self explanatory, it's a postally used version of the same envelope sent on the 23rd of March 1981 from Vilnius, Soviet Lithuania to Marbella, Spain. It was also uprated to 32 Kopecks with a 1961 16 kopeck stamp.

A Comprehensive Timeline of The Bloodlines Unite Verse

I felt that I might as well give a Timeline for this AU, as a means to clear up any confusion. I hope this helps!

● 1946: Henry and William are born.

● 1947-1962: Nothing of note.

● 1963: Henry gains an interest in robotics after watching a performance at The Rat and Cat Theater.

● 1964-1965: Nothing of note.

● 1966: Henry attends college with William who had just immigrated to America. Henry and William start a relationship.

● 1967-1968: Henry breaks off his relationship with William.

● 1969: Michael Afton is born. William Afton marries Clara Hendrickson shortly after.

● 1970: Samuel and Charlotte Emily are born. 

● 1971-1973: Nothing of note.

● 1974-1975: Plans are laid.

● 1976: Fredbear’s opens its doors in New Harmony, with Spring Bonnie, Fredbear, and The Puppet as performers. William’s jealousy begins to take root.

The Funtimes and Twisteds are complete, William intends to use them as harvesters of children and Remnan respectively. Circus Baby’s Pizza World is open for a single day, a result of Circus Baby killing Elizabeth. Circus Baby becomes possessed.

● 1985: Freddy’s and Circus Baby’s Entertainment and Rentals opens their doors. William begins performing experiments on the Funtimes’ captures using the Twisteds. William’s anger at Michael following Evan’s death comes to its boiling point, resulting in the Missing Children Incident as he attempted to use them as substitutes for killing Michael. The Puppet gives gifts and gives life. Freddy’s closes.

● 1986: Rebranding yet again. Michael starts to learn about his father’s true nature.

● 1987: FNaF 2 location opens. Five more kids are killed, though not by William. The Puppet gives gifts and gives life to the Toys. Michael goes behind his father’s back under the pseudonym Fritz Smith to try and find answers. The Bite of ‘87 occurs and Freddy’s closes again.

● 1988-1991: Charlie and Michael attend college. Jessica and Charlie start dating in secret.

● 1991: William learns that Michael is growing suspicious of him, so he pushes Michael to work at CBEaR with the intention of it killing him. Michael is scooped by Ennard and is worn as a skin suit for about a week before his body started to decay. Michael “survives” due to the Remnant being injected by the scooper. Michael cuts ties with William and becomes a recluse. CBEaR is shut down.

● 1992: FNaF 1 location opens, William buries the Twisteds in the forest behind the Emily household.

● 1993: Michael begins work at Freddy’s and learns about the possessions via The Puppet and the IT’S ME hallucinations caused by Shadow Freddy. Michael is fired after a few weeks. Freddy’s closes at the end of the year due to lack of funding.

● 1994: Henry learns about what William did and prepares to confront him. In an attempt to cover his tracks, William breaks into the abandoned 1992 location and dismantles the animatronics who unbeknownst to him, were lured to him by Shadow Freddy. The spirits of the children corner William, who enters the Spring Bonnie suit in an effort to escape, only for the springlocks to trip.

● 1995-1998: Nothing of note.

● 1999: Sammy tracks down his father and begins work as a police officer as a means to find William, encountering Michael along the way. Charlie learns that she’s a robot.

● 2000-2005: Michael starts living with Sammy as they hunt for William. Vanny is born in 2004.

● 2006-2014: Michael and Sammy begin dating, Baby is ejected from Ennard in 2010. Henry finds some of William’s notes on Remnant.

● 2015: Jessica marries Charlie and Sammy marries Michael. Gregory is born and subsequently adopted by Michael and Sammy. Fazbear’s Fright prepares to open and Michael begins work there. William and The Puppet are found by the Management of Fazbear’s Fright while searching for relics, William now taking the moniker of Springtrap. Michael attempts to free the children’s souls but all of them (sans Charlotte and the Shadows) become bound to the residual Remnant inside of Molten Freddy, which had entered the building to find parts for itself. Michael tries to burn the Fright as a means to put an end to his father, but Springtrap is able to escape. The Puppet also manages to survive the fire.

● 2016-2022: Springtrap kills a handful of more people. Henry begins work on his trap.

● 2023: Henry creates Lefty to capture The Puppet. Henry and Michael open Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza Place to lure all of the possessed animatronics in to put an end to all of them. Henry dies, and The Puppet, Molten Freddy, Baby, and Michael are freed. Cassidy prevents William’s soul from being dragged down to hell, leaving it dormant inside his charred skeleton and the remains of the Spring Bonnie suit so she can torment him.

● 2024: Game series based on the events of Freddy’s is made, Fazbear Entertainment™️ gets a massive amount of money from it. Work on The Pizzaplex begins.

● January 1st-October 30th, 2025: VR game is being produced, with Vanny as one of the beta testers. Malhare is created when an A.I. chip found in the remains of Springtrap is downloaded into the game.

● October 31st, 2025: Vanny willingly frees Malhare from the game upon learning that he was created by William Afton and has some of his memories.

● 2026: Vanny unearths the Twisteds and uploads Malhare into them.

● January 2027: Construction of the Pizzaplex is complete. Vanny begins performing a few murders and discovers the remains of Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza Place underneath it. Vanny seals The Box at Malhare’s behest.

● March 28th, 2027: Vanny uses the Hurricane Hole-In-One to decommission Glamrock Bonnie. Only his glasses were found.

● March 30th, 2027: Malhare infects the Pizzaplex’s main animatronic operation server via an unknown backdoor.

● April 3rd, 2027: Monty has been fully modified to be Bonnie’s replacement.

Emma Walsh

Joe Walsh’s Daughter

Joseph Findler Walsh was born on November 20th, 1947. He is most notably known for having played with the Eagles, Ringo Starr & His All-Starr Band, and James Gang. Joe has also released solo albums since 1974, with his debut ‘So What’.

Joe has been married multiple times, briefly to Margie Walsh in the 60’s, and from 1971 to 1978 to Stefany Rhodes. Joe had met Stefany when she was a student at Boston University, to which they married shortly after her graduation, at the age of 21. They had a daughter named Emma Kristen, who was born on April 29th, 1971.

As a baby, Emma often slept on the floor of the Caribou Ranch studio, while Joe would be making an album. The family moved to Boulder, Colorado, and Stefany worked hard at ensuring that their daughter had a safe place to grow up at. Eventually, when yet another musician asked to stay at their home (who happened to be Dan Fogelberg), she put her foot down.

Emma would often play at the North Boulder Park’s playground with her mother. Her mother described her as having been warm and funny.

On April 1st, 1974, Stefany drove down 9thstreet, to take Emma to her morning playgroup. Joe had been out of town, touring extensively, and was to return later that day. A driver ran the stop sign on 9thstreet and Spruce, and crashed into the passenger side of Walsh’s car. The impact caused the car to spin around and hit a fence across the street.

Emma sustained massive head injuries, and was taken off of life support later that night.

One of the doctors asked Stefany if she would give permission to harvest Emma’s corneas and kidney for donation. Though taken back, she gave consent.

Emma is buried at Highland Cemetery in Ipswich, Massachusetts (chosen as that was Stefany’s hometown). She was 2 years old.

Shortly after the accident, the marriage between Joe and Stefany fell through, and they divorced. Stefany is quoted as having said, “The accident kind of did us in, we divorced shortly after.”.

Joe arranged for a memorial to be made at the park that Emma liked to play at, and on May 25th, 1976, the fountain was dedicated at North Boulder Park.

Later, when Joe was dating Stevie Nicks, he took her to the fountain and this inspired her to create the song, “Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You”.

The fountain has since been moved from the original structure, when it became unstable and started to rot. Vandalism at the base causing further damage. The plaque in dedication to Emma has been secured in the ground, though there aren’t any plans to restore the drinking fountain.

On December 14th, 1974, Joe released his first solo album ‘So What’. The album title was representative of his attitude after his daughter’s passing. He wrote the song, ‘Song For Emma’ in dedication to her. In an interview with Rolling Stone in 2016 Joe said,

“To help with closure, I wrote this song for her, and over the process of the next year, my wife and I, we just weren't strong enough to get through the grief and so we separated and eventually got divorced. But I met a girl in Los Angeles, and my song 'Help Me Through the Night' was to her about being there for me. Because I was a wreck. But she was there so that I could grieve Emma.".

My new revised Fruits Basket character ages post

First: I am a massive nerd. I’ve been studying how old the Fruits Basket characters are for over a decade now. I’ve gotten things wrong and people have passed me additional information, so I’m always refining it.

Second: the characters don’t really have birthdays because it’s not important to the story. If it mattered, then we’d know the birthdays.

So, what I’ve put together is a mixture of canon ages, calculations based on relative ages, knowledge of Japanese culture, and a source that may or may not actually be canon, the 2001 Fruits Basket character book. As a source of character data, it has not been outright disowned by Natsuki Takaya, which is good, because the western zodiac signs given in that book are a crucial point in calculating these ages.

So, let’s just run through the birth years of the major characters, oldest to youngest and then go on to explanations:

1971 (Year of the Pig) - Hatori, Shigure, Ayame

1972 or 1973 (Rat or Ox) - Kureno

1976, 1977, or 1978 (Dragon, Snake, Horse) - Ritsu

1978 or 1979 (Horse or Sheep) - Akito

1980 (Monkey) - Kagura

1981 or 1982 (Rooster or Dog) - Rin

1982 (Dog) - Arisa, Tohru, Yuki

1982 or 1983 (Dog or Pig) - Saki

1983 (Pig) - Kyo, Haru

1984 (Rat) - Momiji

1987 (Rabbit) - Kisa, Hiro

I go into tiresome detail below the fold:

First of all, some base principles. Chinese zodiac years in Japan do not follow the lunar new year (typically in late January or February), but instead the calendar year. In Japan, December 31, 2019 was the last day of the year of the pig, January 1, 2020 was the first day of the year of the rat, whereas the year of the rat was not recognized in China until January 25, 2020.

Second, the Japanese school system: the school year starts in the beginning of April. Young children start first grade the year that they are six on April 1st. Thus, the first grade students that started in April 2020 will have been born from April 2013 through March 2014. Elementary school lasts six years. The kids start middle school when they turn twelve, then high school when they turn 15. By the time they graduate from high school, they will have all turned 18 (there can be exceptions, and one of those is applicable to this discussion, so stay tuned).

So: the Mabudachi trio. They were in the same school year together, and they were all born in the year 1971. We know this because Tohru mentions that Hatori is 27 years old in spring 1999, while Shigure is 28 in fall of 1999. According to the 2001 character book, Hatori is a Cancer, Shigure a Scorpio, and Ayame a Sagittarius. So, Hatori was born June/July 1971, Shigure October/November, and Ayame November/December. They are all year of the pig, they started elementary school in April 1978 and graduated high school in March 1990.

Kureno: tells Uo he’s 26 years old in the summer of 1999: he’s either born in the early part of 1973 or the later part of 1972. I prefer to assume the former. Kureno had not been introduced by the time the character book had been published, so we don’t know his western zodiac sign.

Ritsu: The character we know the least about, and that includes age. All we know is that they’re several years younger than their four older cousins, and they’re older that Akito, who is the series character they are most similar in age to. Unhelpfully, their western zodiac sign is Capricorn, meaning they could be born in December or January. Based on relative ages, I think the likeliest birth years for Ritsu are December 1976/January 1977, but they might be year younger than that.

Akito: While Akito’s exact age is not given, we know that they’re between Ritsu and Kagura in age. Being born in 1978 would make them 20 at the start of the series, and I think it is implied that Akito is legally an adult, which was 20 years ol at the time the series was published (legal adulthood is now 18 in Japan). Akito is a Cancer, so approximately June/July 1978.

Kagura is said by Yuki to be two years older than them. She’s a Cancer as well, so she was born June/July 1980.

Rin is the other zodiac member who had not been introduced at the time of the character book, so we don’t have a western sign for her, either. We do have a school year, however: she’s one year ahead of Tohru & co. (Kagura mentions accepting Rin’s graduation certificate on her behalf). Rin was thus born sometime from April 1981 through March 1982.

That brings us to Tohru, Yuki, Kyo, Arisa and Saki. Tohru mentions in the very first chapter that she’s year of the dog. She’s also a Taurus, so she was born in Late April or early May 1982.Yuki is a Virgo, so his birthday is late August or early September 1982. Yuki is said to be 10 years younger than Ayame--given that Yuki’s birthday is earlier in the year, that means Ayame would indeed have been 10 when Yuki was born, turning 11 a couple of months later.. Kyo (as mentioned in a 4koma comic published near the start of the series) is year of the pig. As he’s Capricorn, that means his birthday is early January 1983, thus making him the only character whose birthday we can narrow down to one month in one year.

Now Saki and Arisa represent a puzzle for us. First of all, Arisa is an Aquarius, which means a January/February birthdate. Given that she’s in the same school year as her friends, that would imply being born in January/February 1983. However, that contradicts one piece of information. When she finds out, in the summer of 1999, that Kureno is 26, she thinks “nine years age difference,” implying she is seventeen at the time, rather than the sixteen she would be if she were born in 1983. But let’s not forget that Arisa was a delinquent. It’s a very plausible assumption that Arisa could have been held back a year at some point because of her spotty school performance. So, I choose to go with the assumption that Arisa was born in January/February 1982, making her the oldest of her friends instead of the youngest. Finally, there’s Saki, who is an Aries, meaning that her birthdate in in March or April. And that’s when the school cutoff date is. So, she’s either March 1983 or April 1982. I choose to believe the latter simply for the sake of probability: Aries has more April days than March days. So, by my reckoning, the birth order of the 1-D kids are: Arisa first, then Saki, Tohru, Yuki, with Kyo being the baby of the group.

Haru and Momiji are one year behind Tohru and company in school. Haru is yet another Cancer, meaning he was born in June/July 1983. Momiji is a Pisces, so that puts him at February/March 1984.

Finally, the youngest two. Kisa is three years behind Momij and Haru in school. Like Momiji, she’s also a Pisces, meaning she was born in February/March 1987. Hiro, a Leo, is only five months younger being born in July/August 1987, but since that’s after the April cutoff date, he’s one year behind her in school.

Is some of this information incorrect? Almost definitely--I’ve been refining my character age list for a long time, revising it as find new data. And if the western zodiac signs are invalid, then most of this information is even more worthless than appears at first glance.

But it’s been fun putting it together. I welcome other researchers to make discoveries that others have so far missed.

Crown Princess Victoria’s life (1977-1987)

In January 1977 it was announced that King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia were expecting their first child, eight months after their marriage. By the time the Queen went into labour, the press were in a frenzy and had taken to camping outside Karolinska Hospital to get a glimpse of the family. It was even reported the Queen had to avoid the press by sneaking in to the hospital in a wig! On 14th July at 21:45 - a day before her due date - Queen Silvia gave birth to a baby girl, the first child born to a Swedish reigning couple in over 150 years. The little girl weighed 3250 grams and was 50 cm long. There were a number of witnesses, as per tradition, including the Prime Minister. Within four hours of the birth the new family of three were back home. Shortly afterwards the little baby was named Victoria Ingrid Alice Désirée in honour of several key figures in the history of her family: her great-great grandmother Victoria of Baden; her great-aunt Queen Ingrid; her maternal grandmother Alice de Toledo; and her paternal aunt Princess Désirée. 

As is tradition in the Swedish royal family, the King and Queen soon decamped to their summer home Solliden in Öland. This was the beginning of a special, life long relationship between the Crown Princess and the island province. Just a few days after the birth, the family’s holiday home in the area became the setting for the first official images of the adorable new baby.

Her baptism was held on 27th September at the Palace Church. Her godparents were her aunt Princess Désirée, her uncle Ralf Sommerlath, Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands (then Princess), and King Harald V of Norway (then Crown Prince). 700 guests congregated for the event. The little princess was dressed in a lace christening dress previously worn by her father and aunts and embroidered with the names of the royal children. In a service conducted by Archbishop Olof Sundby she was baptised in spring water from Öland. 

“I remember the first time I saw the Crown Princess. She was baptised and the Queen walked with her on her shoulder through the Eastern Vault at The Royal Palace. Then I came a few yards behind and followed the same way, and I still remember these deep dark eyes just looking at me.” Elisabeth Tarras-Wahlberg, then Press Secretary to the Royal Court of Sweden, about seeing Victoria at her christening in 1977

Victoria lived a relatively quiet life as a child, initially splitting her time between Stockholm Palace and Solliden. Her parents were often abroad and as a result, the Princess was cared for by nannies and communicated with her parents by phone. She was rarely photographed out and about but her parents ensured the public got to see her with low key photo calls and public appearances at major events. In 1978 her first birthday was marked with the release of photographs taken by her father and in 1979 she greeted the press and keen onlookers at Solliden, starting what would become the Victoriadagen celebrations which are carried on to this day. 

In 1979, two months before her second birthday, Victoria was joined by a little brother who was named Carl Philip. She joined her family at Carl Philip’s baptism in August. 

“Suddenly Carl Philip started to cry. He was in the King’s arms. No one understood why. There was only one person who did and it was Victoria. She was still little at the time, but she jumped up from her little chair, rushed forward and lifted a small pillow that had fallen down.” Queen Silvia recalls Prince Carl Philip’s baptism

At the time of her brother’s birth, women could not legally inherit the throne and Carl Philip became heir. However, the government had been in discussion about changing the law for many years and in November 1979, the Parliament voted through an amendment to the Constitution which made the first born child the heir regardless of sex. Overnight Victoria became the heir to the throne and Crown Princess instead of her little brother. The law came in to effect on 1st January 1980 and on 9th she was awarded the title Duchess of Västergötland. There was substantial interest in this event; Sweden was the first country in the world to introduce equal succession rights and the King sparked headlines when he spoke of his concerns about his daughter having to balance the throne with motherhood.  

“Certainly when it happened, dad wondered why you would want to change the law. Everything had worked well so far. Today neither I nor anyone in our family sees it as a problem. On the contrary.” Victoria discusses her family’s views on the change to the line of succession

In 1981, in order to protect the privacy of the children and give them a more normal childhood, the family moved their primary residence to the more secluded Drottningholm Palace. According to those who knew her during this time the little princess was a funny, curious and warm child but could often post a challenge for her nannies with her boundless energy! In June 1982, a month before Victoria’s 5th birthday, the Queen gave birth to her third and final child Princess Madeleine. Once again, the Crown Princess joined the family at her sibling’s baptism which was held in August. 

“Dad called on us and asked if we wanted to see our new sibling. Carl Philip got so excited he ran on his tiptoes! There were a lot of people dressed in white and then the little baby” Crown Princess Victoria recalls the birth of her sister Madeleine

The Crown Princess was largely unaware of the role that she would have to take on some day. As a child she hoped to look after animals when she grew up - no doubt encouraged by her bond with her childhood pet, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Sissi. She preferred to spend time with the palace staff than the social elite who often surround monarchies. As the King and Queen were often away, the Crown Princess became close to her siblings and acted as a mother figure. Despite being just a child herself, she was often the one who would comfort her brother and sister when their parents departed for long trips. Seeing the impact of this separation and being forced into taking on a mother role at such a young age no doubt shaping her commitment to being a hands on, present parent to her own children. Although they had disagreements like any siblings, Madeleine and Carl Philip have often spoken of the gratitude they feel towards their big sister for her role in their upbringing:

“Victoria took a lot of responsibility for us and looked after us. She’s also very creative and that makes her such a wonderful sister. She invented fun games, we built the most beautiful tree houses. She always did everything for us.” Princess Madeleine

When her parents were present, the family relished many of the same activities ordinary Swedish families enjoyed. They spent hours together skiing, fishing, and swimming. Victoria particularly enjoyed being out in nature and her personal and professional life as an adult has been profoundly influenced by this idyllic childhood: 

“I learned from (my father) to appreciate nature but also to recognise my own responsibility for taking care of it.” Crown Princess Victoria

In August 1984, she started pre-school at Smedslättskolan in Bromma. Photographs of her first day were shared in the media and she was dropped off by the King and Queen, but to her classmates Victoria was just another child. Her peers affectionately called her Oja, a nickname believed to stem from her siblings being unable to pronounce the name Victoria. She then moved on to Ålstensskolan, also in Bromma. Although the Crown Princess was a popular student problems soon manifested in her learning and she would go on to be diagnosed with dyslexia. 

“The hard time for me came later, as I started school…That’s when my reading and writing difficulties, my dyslexia, were discovered. That everyone else, who until then seemed like me, was suddenly learning to read and write and not me was extremely frustrating” Crown Princess Victoria

petunia evans is a character that I think had a lot of potential. I cannot at all commend the person she became as petunia dursley, and I wish so much that she had looked just a little harder in her heart to find space for harry. the evans family is a difficult thing to find canon information on. the best we’ve dug up so far is a statement from an interview rowling made when answering if harry’s grandparents were killed. her exact words about the evans were, “...because I do like my backstory: Petunia and Lily’s parents, normal Muggle death.” now, kindly prepare for some english-major bullshit.

death. not deaths, plural. (yes, obviously this is a minute detail, but there’s really not much else to go on.) if the parents had suffered separate deaths, it should’ve been plural. keeping this noun singular suggests that one event took both parents out at once, leaving them both to experience one collective death.*

so, what collective death might they have suffered? well, considering that petunia wasn’t the most imaginative person, let’s remember that the explanation that she gave harry for his parents’ death was a car crash. that certainly fits our requirements for one event taking two people out at the same time, and it qualifies as a “normal Muggle death”. it’s not a far stretch to assume petunia took her answer for harry straight from the way her own parents died.

we know they were dead by the time lily and james died, due to petunia being lily’s only living relative for harry to go to. the conclusion we’ve drawn for petunia’s birth year (which we’ll explain in a later addition to this post) is 1957, three years before lily’s birth. going by british law, if lily’s parents had died before she was eighteen, she would’ve required a legal guardian until she was of age. (remember, 17 is only considered “of age” for wizards, something the muggle government wouldn’t be taking into consideration). since I cannot imagine rowling made the question of legal guardianship a part of lily’s narrative, we’ll set the parameters of her parents’ death for sometime after she had come of age in the eyes of muggle britain but before lily’s death.

lily would turn eighteen on january 30th, 1978, during her final year at hogwarts. her death occurred on october 31st, 1981. that leaves roughly three years for the accident to take place in.

this understanding is important to petunia’s story mainly because these parameters mean she would not be pulled into any sort of court situation regarding lily’s legal guardianship status. her story, according to pottermore, is that she left cokeworth behind forever, which suggests to us that she never once returned. obviously in the real world, this could’ve meant that she moved out permanently but still returned for visits. considering this is coming from rowling, a woman who tends to write in absolutes, it’s more likely to be the “never returning” option. this means that dealing with funeral arrangements, identifying bodies, and putting her parents’ affairs in order were not responsibilities she handled, since that would’ve entailed a return to the town she detested. instead, by the time lily turned eighteen, petunia was already married to vernon dursley and had decidedly left her life there behind. for all intents and purposes, she would’ve considered herself a dursley first and an evans not at all.

we’ll discuss this chapter of the sisters’ lives later; for now, it’s enough to have a rough idea for when petunia’s parents died. not much other information was ever provided about the parental evans, but here’s what we know:

initially, when the girls were younger, mrs. evans told lily she wasn’t allowed to use her magic. after the revelation that lily’s magic made her special, entitling her to attend a wizarding school and study to become a competent witch, both parents were thrilled. the magical world enchanted them both, and lily receives nothing but support from her parents after her acceptance to hogwarts.

young petunia could already identify class, drawing contrasts and divides between her family and the snapes. one of the first insults she punished severus with was a comment on his poor-quality clothing. she knew he came from an impoverished neighborhood and that hers was better, even if not by much. she used that information to immediately cast him in a negative light. she also had the social awareness to ensure no one was around to see lily’s magic, and to detect the insult in the word “muggle” without understanding what it meant. lily being nine years old, petunia would’ve been around twelve, so this social awareness and prideful classist view likely came from her home environment.

while the evans are hardly likely to have been as bad as the malfoys, this is evidence that petunia’s parents placed a great deal of importance on social status. lily only ever mentions her friends questioning her friendship with snape, not her family, so her parents weren’t so extreme to the point of outright forbidding her association with people of a lower status. it’s possible petunia’s younger years saw an economical shift downwards for her parents, leaving her with great pride and a snobbish attitude even once her circumstances turned less fortunate, while lily only ever remembers those circumstances.

moving forward to the next canon information we have concerning petunia, she left cokeworth for london, where she took a typing course. our assumption here is that she left after graduating secondary school, around the age of eighteen or so. once she had her diploma and was a legal adult, she would’ve moved out as soon as possible, to escape the life she hated and the family that favored lily and her magical gifts. assuming she and lily are three years apart, she would’ve left most likely the summer before lily’s fifth or sixth year at hogwarts.

from there, she found an office job, likely at grunnings, the drilling company where vernon was a junior executive, since they met at work. he proposed while lily was in her seventh year at hogwarts, so the engagement took place after lily left for school on september 1st, 1977. they were married by the end of the year and settled into a house together (as petunia tells harry in the first deathly hallows movie that she’s lived in that house for twenty years, during the summer of 1997). this is another part of her story that makes knowing the date of her parents’ death important; because we’ve determined they didn’t die until after january the following year, we know mr. and mrs. evans would have attended petunia’s wedding.

at some point before the wedding but after the proposal, petunia told vernon about lily’s magic. the couple met lily and james for dinner at a muggle restaurant, though the meeting didn’t end well. still, both were invited to the wedding, despite lily pointedly not being made a bridesmaid. afterwards, petunia appears to have sent a present for christmases, and likely birthdays as well, considering that she and vernon generally gave harry at least some type of horrible present for his birthdays. it’s probable lily returned the favor, sending christmas and birthday presents to petunia.

despite being invited, petunia and vernon didn’t attend lily’s wedding. around the autumn of 1979, both evans sisters became pregnant. petunia’s son dudley was born on june 23rd, 1980, just a month before harry’s birth on july 31st. harry’s birth announcement was the last communication petunia ever received from lily (besides the christmas presents they exchanged) before lily’s death the following year on october 31st, 1981. petunia wasn’t aware of her passing until november 2nd, when she discovered her sister’s son on her doorstep along with a letter from albus dumbledore explaining the circumstances of lily’s death and harry’s need for her as his guardian.

this is where the story picks up ten years later in the original series. this is also where our understanding of petunia’s life turns entirely from evidenced speculation and canon to headcanon and theory, unfortunately. in later additions to this post, we’ll explore our theories on petunia’s parents, as well as how her dynamic with lily changed through the years and how her character serves as a mirror to severus’s. already, we’ve made a lot of speculations based on british law, rowling’s writing, and petunia’s character, as well as lily’s, but this first part of her timeline will serve as the canon upon which we’ll be building the rest of her character. any ideas and suggestions for the evans family are more than welcome!

*obviously, this interpretation leans heavily on two large assumptions. firstly, we’re relying on the transcription of the interview having correctly recorded her words, as the link to the original video source is broken. secondly, this conclusion also requires trusting that rowling implements this basic rule of grammar into her everyday speech. any native speaker of english could probably tell you that in day-to-day language, we don’t tend to follow every single rule 100% of the time, as long as our basic meaning can be understood. considering our other deliberate deviations from her canon, however, I think it’s enough to acknowledge the reasoning behind our interpretation of her words and move on.

Shokugeki no Soma Birthday Calendar

This is a schedule of the birthdays of some of the most important Shokugeki no Soma characters. The dates are based on the information of the manga and the fanbook.

In regards of birth years we actually have to options here (thanks to @polar-stars​, who pointed this out). Either the manga starts in 2012 or in 2017.

The first two images show the research data, Azami had stolen. It is dated 2012 (I’m sorry, the English manga seems to have not shown the year. But the official german tranlation does - chapter 184 or Season 3 Episode 17). Then there is a magazine which was shown during the Blue Arc. It states 2018, when Yukihira and Erina are in their second year. Though I don’t know the exact chapter...

So either we have a time paradox between the first and the second year or both options work. :)

Since the manga was published in 2012 for the first time I use this option. However, both years are completely valid. That’s why I updated the birth years below. I will not update the charts in the near future though. I updated them.
