My heart is so full, from our gorgeous full-company opening night portrait on the stairs of the Pantages, to having my good and crazy people, my married Starkid friends in the house, to Maker’s Mark making our 300th show incredibly memorable.

300 SHOWS.

300 shows! My God. We’ve passed the length of the Broadway run at this point and it’s humbling to realize how much life this particular production has had since our time at the Jacobs. We’re starting to feel the countdown until we close in October, so LA has been the perfect place to really enjoy our last few moments with this material.

So I saw Darren Criss perform live last night in Hobart. It was such an amazing experience, especially since we got second row seats and we didn't have to travel to see him! He performed the songs from Masquerade, Foolish Thing, and I Still Think (which he seemed surprised that people had recordings of because he doesn't think he has any) of his original songs; Somewhere Only We Know, Cough Syrup, and Teenage Dream from Glee; Granger Danger and Goin' Back to Hogwarts with Joey and Lauren; a mashup of a song from How to Succeed and Midnight Radio from Hedwig; a couple of other covers, and finished with an encore of Beauty from Starship and The Day That The Dance Is Over.

I think the highlight for me (of a night of highlights) was The Day That The Dance Is Over. He mentioned that he wrote it with his brother, and it definitely felt like a tribute to him. The first half of the song he sang without microphones or speakers, just his voice and guitar, letting the natural acoustics of the theatre carry the music. At the line 'but I believe there is music in the silence', he motioned to the audience to stay quiet and there was a beautiful time of complete silence as he moved to the piano to finish the song. I'd be willing to bet that everyone was at least teary by the end of the song. I'm so glad that I had a chance to see him perform.

hey so i did end up buying tickets to darren criss’ tour, but since ticketmaster is a joke, i accidentally bought four instead of two. the purchase went through right as it timed out, so i assumed it didn’t work. it did. and there’s no resale. so if anybody wants two of my four, i’ll give them to you (via transfer) at a lower price than i bought them (through venmo). it’s the washington d.c. concert (the anthem) on the 14th. seats are orch 3; row m; seats 150-151

i don’t want to have 2-3 tickets stashed if somebody wants to go but there’s not many seats left because i unfortunately have them but can’t fill them! so if you or someone else you know wants to go, message me! tbh, i’ll live without getting the money back, i just don’t want to take an experience away from someone else!
