I can respect the hater mentality
#kirby#kots#kirby of the stars#hoshi no kirby#kirby meme#it's honestly hilarious that half the cast of star allies are just people that tried to kill us and most of them aren't even sorry#Taranza at the time was the only redeemed villain in the cast#like yeah magolor went through redemption but we didn't know that he just built a theme park and hoped everything was fine#marx is just not hungry and his text just hints at him still being up to no good#susie is still racist and im not even sure she learn something from her experience#apart from trauma#daroach is here to steal stuff#im still not sure what dark meta knight wanted but nothing good I'm sure#i may be giving Taranza too much credit because he's my favorite he did have ulterior motives#but at most he just wanted to pray for Sectonia's revival he wasn't gonna do anything bad#he is going through stuff of course he's vulnerable to be converted by a cult#he's even like 'probably won't work and it working would honestly be a bad thing but im going to try anyway'#do you think Taranza gets lonely up there#Galacta dying the second we receive the first bit of solid lore about them was straight up evil#and then kumazaki confirmed they killed them because it was funny i was enraged /pos#i know people were tired of Galacta Knight at that point#i mean i wasn't bur i kind of understand why some people may have been#even they were tired they kiled themselves before having to fight us again#do you ever think about how none of the Galacta Knight encounters are canon to the kirby cast but are canon to Galacta#and then their death isn't canon so oops here they come in Kirby clash#retire that is old guy#but actually don't i like them and i want them to appear until they drop dead (again)#the post was meant to be about Galacta never forgiving the ancients but honestly they're probably angry just in general

What if dream friends had dialogue in Star Allies?
Tumblr media
I suppose it could've been a lot of unnecessary work for HAL to do, but I still think it could be highly fun and imaginative to think about.
How cool would it be if the game's plot actually acknowledged the existence of the dream friends? The things they'd say in-game, etc...
I think it would be especially fun to think about what all the different dream friends might saying during the mage sister fights. Like, y'know, the points of the game where there's dialogue. What they all might say to the mage sisters in response to their words....
... I'm not going to go over what I think every dream friend would say in these moments, but I think I'd like to focus on ones such as Susie, Magolor, Marx, Taranza and Daroach. Why these ones in particular? Because I think they'd probably be the more entertaining ones in what they'd have to say in their dialogue during the mage battles.
How funny would it be that Marx and Magolor just troll the shit out of the mages? How funny would it be that Susie acts condescending when talking to them? How funny would it be that Taranza joke-flirts with them, he doesn't actually mean it as he's just doing it to get them riled up? How funny would it be that Daroach tells them to watch out before he steals from them? This stuff is fanfiction-worthy! Heck, this might be the biggest reason why I might attempt my adaptation of Star Allies into a fanfiction in the future, although I've got many other fics planned beforehand so it'd be a long while.
But still! There could be endless potential when thinking about this.
Let me demonstrate an example. First, let's look at the part where the game first introduces Flamberge, and she's really angry.
"HEY, YOU! Stubby little...pink thing! Yes, YOU! I have a buuuurning question for you! You're the one who was so rude to sweet Francisca, aren't you?! Don't you dare try to deny it!"
"Ohohohohohohoho! We sure put that crazy blue lady in her place! What are you gonna do about it? Throw a temper tantrum? Go so berserk that you lose control and we can easily beat you?"
Wanna guess who said that? Hahahaha... the purple text probably made it obvious. In this interpretation, it's Marx who said that. There's no way he wouldn't just totally mock them and rub it in their faces. At the very least in my interpretation of Marx, it'd be like him to do that.
And by the way, I'm one that actually headcanons Marx becoming friends with the mage sisters post-HiAD because he loves how chaotic they are, and loves that they're willing to join him in doing insane shit (especially Francisca). But during Star Allies when the mages were the enemy? I bet he totally mocked the shit out of them!
Magolor, too. Here's a good example of Magolor having dialogue against one of the mages:
"Bonjam. I am Zan Partizanne, the eldest of the three generals of magic."
"Woah... Zan what? I didn't hear that thoroughly! I think I'll call you Zan Parmesan Cheese, though!"
".... I absolutely HATE that you ended up getting my name more right than a lot of other fools have."
It'd be hilarious to see a lot of dream friends trying to say her name. All the different ways they could say it wrong.
Here's a Taranza example:
"This must be the fiery flames of fate at work! Ooooh yeaaaah! My flames and I are fully stoked now!"
"Golly, you're really hot, good ma'am!" with a trollish look on his face.
"... Excuse me? EXCUSE ME?"
"Hahahahahaha! Am I making you overheat too much, fool?"
I think Taranza deserves to be depicted as silly sometimes.
A Daroach example:
"We wish to assemble the dark Jamba Heart pieces that were scattered across the universe."
"Woah... you want them all? That's a big bummer! What if I want to steal some of them? Maybe I'll still do it out of spite, teehee!"
I hate the limited amount of colors allowed for tumblr posts. To make it clear, for this example, the blue text is Francisca while the red text is Daroach. While, of course, Flamberge was the red text in the examples with Marx and Taranza, while Magolor was the blue text in the example with Zan.
And now, let me demonstrate a couple examples with Susie. I think she'd delightfully fire off on them like the feisty cheeky woman she is.
"I shall now turn this pink ball of nice into a frozen block of ice!"
"No you won't. This 'pink ball of nice' is a force of pure destruction, and you're going to defrost by daring to harm the universe with all of this insolent nonsense. You must be destroyed!"
"... Very well. But I won't go down without a fight, so you best watch out that you all might become ice sculptures this time. I can more than make sure of it!"
"We will more than make sure to obliterate you, just like the rest of your barbaric cult! Let's put her in her place, Pinky!"
Susie example with Zan:
"I did not expect you to survive your visit to Jambastion."
"You thought that would've gotten us? Pfft! We've all been through worse than that. You're going to have to try harder than that if you really want to eliminate us for good."
"Really, you survived worse? Well, that doesn't matter, because your luck has run out."
"No. Your luck has run out. We're going to exterminate all of you like the savages you are!"
This works out well with my interpretation that Susie's Japanese SA pause description containing the words "exterminate the savages!" is referring to the Jambastion cult when they were still the enemy. I headcanon that she's slowly in the process of unpacking baggage, and "savages" is just a thing she calls people she views as enemies.
And uh... to be honest, the cult kind of deserved to be called words like that during Star Allies when they were threatening everything.
I've done a lot of examples of a few dream friends having dialogue during the mage battles. But what about when confronting Hyness?
I think all the dream friends would be horrified at the moments that Hyness knocks Zan out of the way, weaponize all three mage sisters' bodies in his second phase of the fight, and then sacrificing them and himself to Void Termina. It would make them just flabbergasted.
Although I bet Marx would probably laugh at how unhinged he is.
"It seems... we do not have enough energy... to revive our Dark Lord... Must we... allow ourselves... to fall... into oblivion?"
"Yes, you should do that!"
"No."
"Yes."
"NO!"
"YES!"
"No no no no no!"
"Yes yes yes yes yes!"
"*goes on his giant unhinged rant*"
"*laughs hysterically* Look at you go off! It's hilarious!"
Marx is just... lmao.
Sorry that I don't have examples with every dream friend having dialogue in this post. But you get the general idea! Perhaps if you have ideas as to what the other dream friends could say in these moments, feel free to mention them in the notes!
Although I'll leave you here with a King Dedede example, just cuz:
"For what you've done, I'll scorch you to such a degree that... that... even tasty, toasty marshmallows will seem like ice cubes compared to you!"
"You ain't gonna be scorchin' any of us, ya hot fiery slimeball! We'll put you in your place like we did to the blue look-a-like of ya!"
Hahaha... ha... I interpret southern accent Dedede. Sue me.
Thanks for reading the post if you did! Let me know about more ideas of dream friend dialogue you have in the notes. I'd be curious what else you think in this broad, interesting concept.

Do you think that Daroach has killed someone off-screen? He is referred as a ruthless thief in star allies even after his friendly meetings with Kirby and him stopping the villians has more so to do with pragmatism than him feeling actually helping.
...!! A Daroach ask! I'm so happy!
Anyway, warning for brief talk of killing, stealing, and other immoral + gray morality stuff! And remember that regardless of what your favorite video game characters would do, everyone has someone who cares about them the same way you care about your most important people! (If you don't think YOU have that person in YOUR life yet, you will, someday! I promise!) </Dess positivity>
Now, Daroach gives me strong "phantom thief" vibes (The hat, the cape. Red is not exactly a stealthy color. It's clear Daroach cares more about style than being undetected. Plus, his JP description constantly throws around the word “calling card” - another staple of the phantom thief) and phantom thieves traditionally outsmart those they encounter rather than kill them but...
...If we're talking about a Kirby universe where everyone comes back to life in a week or so, then perhaps...?!? That is to say, at least as many as Kirby has "killed." (Aka, has "killed" no one that's gone forever :cough: ignoring Sectonia :cough:) But being ruthless (I did a quick wiki browse and couldn’t find a direct quote, but I trust that it’s mentioned somewhere) I'm SURE he and the Squeaks have gotten into violent confrontations before.
The question here is, who would a thief "need" to kill? Even in real life, a thief's focus is on stealing. Anything that gets in the way of that/complicates that process is something they DON'T want. That includes violence/violent confrontations. Killing someone and THEN taking their stuff is more liable to be associated with feelings of power/domination/control. Stealing CAN be about those things, but is usually more concerned with profit or survival. Or rebellion, if you're stealing from an institution.
(Btw, as for writing all that, I actually have zero experience with thievery - and I've never taken a psychology class, so treat the stuff up above with a grain of salt - but when you have ambitions of being a writer, you look a LOT of stuff up/think a lot about motivations.)
There's the possibility of Daroach having harmed or killed someone in self-defense, such as some yet unseen law-person or bounty hunter, but unless his reciprocation was particularly cruel or brutal, it doesn't exactly follow that such an act would lead him to be described as ruthless. And that level of violence doesn't line up with anything we know about the Squeaks anyway. They made Kirby apology cake!!
"Ruthless" does mean having no compassion or pity, but I imagine that is more in reference to the degrees they will go to get their treasure. Recall that Doc built at least two giant killer robots to stop Kirby!
...Oh....
...I just said "killer" robots, didn't I?
O-Okay. Let's just make a division here between cartoon violence and real world violence. I don't think the Squeaks have committed anything that could be comparable to the horror of real world violence. I DO think they have gotten up to their non-existent elbows in cartoon violence though!
But as much as I could imagine a growly Daroach threatening someone "to the pain" style in a dimly lit room, the tip of his cane pressed right up against their throat, I don't see him going through with it. He's got so many better methods of getting what he wants than serious violence! Plus, his dialogue in Mass Attack is a perfect mix of “Robin Hood” and “Noblesse Oblige.”
In fact, I went and checked the Japanese Star Allies description and while he mentions “taking” those “Dark Heart Gems” there’s no indication he plans on using them to do anything bad. Daroach speaks as if the thrill of the (treasure) hunt is what he’s in for more than anything. (And being able to lay back on a pile of gold and jewels like some kind of tiny, furry dragon.)
...He'd definitely make someone who hurt his crew regret it though!
Slightly related, I happen to love any HC in which the Squeaks are treated like space pirates, considering they have an airship AND are capable of inter-planetary travel! I feel like someone once mentioned that since Samus is (sort of) canon to the Kirby universe, she's probably seen Daroach's bounty on her radar, at least.
...Though I cannot say for certain what a Metroid-canon Daroach may or may not have done to earn that bounty!

For the ask meme: 🍒🪞🎶💫? For any oc(s) you want!
Ask link:
Hey! Ty for the ask! 🪞💫 were answered, so:
(Long post incoming)
🍒 -
Dazor - Well, the easiest friend for him to get along with would probably be Kirby, once Dazor realizes Kirby’s not going to backstab him at first opportunity. Gooey and Elfilin he'd be close with too, Dazor appreciates that despite their dark origins, they got good hearts (even if Gooey is quite scatter-brained). I can’t see him getting along with Zan though - her refusal to respect anyone beyond her circle (and eventually Kirby) would absolutely rub him the wrong way. DMK he’d try to avoid. Daroach he just wants to sTOP TRYING TO STEAL HIS STUFF, thank you very much. He and Magolor don’t like each other too much either - Dazor dislikes Magolor’s mischief and over-the-top, un-genuine nature (not to mention his infamous betrayal), and Magolor would think Dazor’s too boring and that it’s a shame he won’t share any Ancient related knowledge. In a similar vein, Dazor would… not get along with Marx, to say the least. For the other friends, Dazor would be on positive or at least neutral terms.
Ao-Yong - Their laidback nature would allow them to get along with just (or at least avoid conflict with) about all of the dream friends. They probably wouldn’t be too fond of Susie though, while they can sympathize with her struggles caused by the Ancients' legacy, they find it much harder to sympathize with the part of colonizing and destroying others' lives for her and her company benefit, having seen that story play out time and time again.
Ky: *Struggling to think here* I can see them enjoying sparring with Meta Knight and the Mage Sisters! I'd also see them being interested in Elfilin given their connection to Elfilis.
🎶- Oh god, this is probably one of the harder questions for me bc my brain just... doesn't really connect music with my ocs? But I do got a few things:
Dazor - The first song is the Aviary Village shop theme from Sky: Children of the Light. It's a relaxing, peaceful song associated with rebuilding and renewal, which is great for Dazor's story. And the second song - whiplash incoming - is Hell’s comin’ with me - Poor Man’s Poison. Pro tip: Dazor is a people-pleaser, he's conflict-avoidant and would rather not fight, much less kill. But if you choose to hurt him or his loved ones, he WILL remember, and he will NOT forget (This will be plot relevant down the line).
Ao-Yong - Their battle theme would probably be heavily based off of Landia's theme and, I don't know, Sekiro's Divine Dragon and/or Elden Ring's Elden Beast. A regal, alien, powerful theme that tells you that you should not be fighting them.
Ky - they can have a leifmotif/theme based off Landia's theme and/or Two Planets Approach the Roche Limit due to the connections with their owners, maybe more the latter since Ao has the stronger connection to Landia here.

If The Squeak Squad were in the anime, what would Vezzpa relationship with them be like?
Tumblr media
A'ight, let's kill two birds with one stone. And lemme just say something here, I REALLY wanted to have more doodles explaining this, but then I remembered how lazy I am and just thought screw it I'll just type it out, it's faster-
Tumblr media
Well, first of all; how I'd introduce them is as a band of misfit thieves that go around the galaxy stealing things from meager pick-pocketing, to elaborate heists. Ocean's seven-eleven type stuff. And their next target happens to be the king of Dreamland's vault of ridiculous amounts of wealth. Unfortunately, their first attempt was a failure and nearly got them caught by Meta Knight, putting the safe on supreme lockdown. And DDD, feeling like wanting to keep his trove extra secure, wants to hire EXTRA muscle to keep things secure. Unfortunately, he went about and hired the very group that tried to steal from him after they saw the all the fliers and took it as an opening. All because DDD thought Daroach was cool-looking. And the rat took advantage of the king's naivety and tried and sweet-talk the rest of the group into being none the wiser. Unfortunately, the person Daroach needed to REALLY charm was the person who had ALL of the safe codes and details; The ever unimpressible Vezzpa who actually found him more repulsive than charming. Because... Well, she wasn't a fan of pests.
This of course, caught him completely off-guard because NOBODY has ever not fallen for his chronic-flirt tactics, or has called him "a malformed, misogynistic mouse with jaundice". I mean, it's not the first time somebody had insulted him... But it was certainly the first time they were so alliterate and upfront about it... And it hit him where is pride was, but he still needs to try and find a way to get her to sweeten up to him so she might share SOMETHING OF A HINT to at least ONE of the safe codes... Plus his track record of seducing ladies was at stake of being broken ALONG with his successful heists and he wasn't about to have THAT!
AAAAAaaand that's all I got- So, yeah... Ol’ Vezzy wouldn’t think to highly of him and already be WAY too suspicious of him to even give him the time of day, let alone a scrap of code. And Daroach would at most try and find a way to get on her good side as a means to an end and only come out furious that she has more than two brain-cells to rub together.

Daroach for the ask 🐀
Anon I bring you cheese
First impression: When I saw the KSA Dream Friend trailers back when they came out I remember thinking "wow that's a Kirby character if I ever saw one". Man imagine if I actually played the Dream Friends when they released I could of found god sooner.
Impression now: Whoops new favorite. He's got a fantastic design and sassy dialogue making for one of the strongest characters. Nothing mind blowing, he's a fairly standard gentleman thief type, but still very well executed and confident.
Favorite moment: Stretching it here, but I really like how he plays in KSA. He has a wide variety of moves that need charging so every fight you have to think about what works best for the situation. I feel like he could of had more personality in KSA, especially in the animation department, but playing him feels like you're the crazy prepared leader of a team having to plan a heist on the spot.
Idea for a story: Oh god I have too many. One idea is a heist at Haltmann works where he runs into Susie and they get into a fight. He brings Doc along with him because Doc's more familiar with the tech-y stuff.
Unpopular opinion: How can there be unpopular opinions if a character isn't that popular to begin with
Favorite relationship: This is outside of the games but Meta Knight. I'm not a huge fan of the novels, but holy shit those two are chummy to a near comical degree. A problem I have with the novels is that they are really mean spirited, but they can't help but compliment each other whenever they're near. They'll also just stop and ask how they are doing and have each other's best interests in mind and wow that's really refreshing. Thinking outside the novels they have enough similarities for getting along but also some differences in personality to challenge each other with. I'd like to think Daroach would hesitate to trust people, what with being an infamous thief he probably has made a lot of enemies. He'd take an interest in MK because Cool and Mysterious dude but hesitate to reach out. MK's excuse is he's shit at communication so he just does Daroach a lot of favors which throws Daroach off. Daroach eventually realizes that MK is just being massive dork and they become fast friends then. More obvious is just Daroach is much open and flamboyant than MK is; Daroach would push him to have fun but wouldn't overstep any boundaries. I see hc's that they'd chat about their adventures over tea or go on heists together, but I'd like to see Daroach asking for help with hand-to-hand combat with some sparring.
Favorite headcanon: Less headcanon and more maybe canon/theory is this beef he and DDD have. DDD is (rightfully) pissed that Daroach has stolen from him and Daroach just thinks he's ugly lol
In the DDD Directory tweets he's said: And "Dark Daroach" is a form he took on when he got taken over by some strange black smoke at the end of the story. That HAD to be his punishment for daring to steal my treasure!
And Daroach spits hard facts in Mass Attack: I used to steal the hearts of young ladies by the seaside here. But that was long ago, before King Dedede came to spoil its shores.
Dedede Resort has a castle that King Dedede had built. It’s supposed to be beyond tacky. This is the most petty and pointless conflict in the series and I love it. Throwing out some more, I like stuff in the Dreamy Gear novel like how Vul hates his guts or how he's apparently a really good chef/baker and I just apply that to the normal canon.

Okay, DoC here, hi, when you get to reading chapter 7, could you tell me what I did right and wrong? I'm only saying this because so far, you're feedback has been only positive, and I'm super happy you like my writing, but I don't know what I need to improve on, that's all I ask, not trying to sound mean or ungrateful, I just want to get better, that's all, thanks for all the kind comments!
Okay!
GRAMMAR.
THAT IS LITERALLY IT THAT IS MY ONLY GRIPE IS THE GRAMMAR.
You don’t need to beat yourself up over your jokes or your dialogue or your pacing if you could just fix your grammar. You need an editor or time to reread what you’ve written and fix it, not hours of self hate.
Here, lemme show you (spoilers for The Time that Time Fell):
This is the Daroach paragraph where he goes through the squeak squad hall:
Walking through the hall, Daroach saw some familiar images, firstly was when he stole Kirby’s cake, Daroach chuckled at the memory, they always joked about how “Kirby has killed gods over cake”. Second was an image of Kirby beating up Dedede, poor guy, always gets blamed the second something goes wrong. Third was an image of Doc piloting Yadogaine, he always bragged about how that was his “greatest invention”, always conveniently forgot to mention Kirby tore through it like paper. Fourth was his fight with Kirby, Daroach giggled, Kirby always complained about Daroach “teleport spamming” but if you saw a hammer going towards your face and you had the option to dodge instantly, wouldn’t you take it, Daroach thought back and remembered Meta stealing the chest so it couldn’t possess him, I mean, he could’ve at least told him! Fifth was the image of the aforementioned possession, when Daroach opened the chest, that’s essentially been one of the four times Daroach felt real fear, the others being Doc’s spaceship blowing up during an excursion, Spinni getting caught in a bear trap, and… hearing Magolor, Taranza, and Susie had been kidnapped, so he cared about them, he wasn’t made of stone! Lastly was an image of Dark Daroach, with Dark Nebula looming in the distance, he wished he could’ve killed that thing himself for possessing him. Daroach made it to the end of the hall and jumped down, seeing a hologram of what was supposedly his enemy.
Now I’m going to edit it slightly. Watch this.
Walking through the hall, Daroach saw some familiar sights displayed along the walls.
The first was when he had stolen Kirby’s cake. Daroach chuckled at the memory. They always joked about how Kirby would kill gods over a slice of cake after that whole mess.
Second was an image of Kirby beating up Dedede, the poor guy. He always gets blamed the second something goes wrong, even if he’d been nothing but kind to Kirby for the past decade.
Third was a depiction of Doc piloting his ship Yadogaine - he always bragged about how that was his “greatest invention”, always conveniently forgetting to mention that Kirby tore through it like paper in only a few minutes time.
Fourth was his own fight with Kirby. Daroach giggled. Kirby had always complained about Daroach’s erratic and constant teleporting, but if you saw a hammer going towards your face and you had the option to dodge instantly, wouldn’t you take it? He frowned as he thought back and remembered Meta Knight trying to steal the chest so it couldn’t possess him. Well, he could’ve at least told him!
The fifth was of the aforementioned possession, when Daroach opened the chest. He shuddered at the memory. It was essentially one of the four times Daroach felt real fear, the others being Doc’s spaceship blowing up during an excursion, Spinni getting caught in a bear trap, and… hearing Magolor, Taranza, and Susie had been kidnapped. Yeah, so, he cared about them, he wasn’t made of stone!
The last picture had him glaring angrily, quietly seething. It was of Dark Daroach, with Dark Nebula looming in the distance. He wished he could’ve killed that thing himself for possessing him. He sighed and moved on.
Daroach made it to the end of the hall and jumped down, greeted by the sight of a hologram of what was supposedly his enemy.
So here’s the patch notes:
Added proper paragraph spacing in between the descriptions of each image! This makes it easier to read if you have ADHD or some kind of visual processing disorder as well, so it’s not just prettier, it’s also more accessible!
Removed repeated phrasings and added synonyms. The original paragraph says “image” 5 times, which can feel repetitive and therefore boring - the edited version only says “image” once. I did this by changing a couple words - “picture” and “depiction” - and/or just removing it all together. I don’t need to say it’s the fourth image, you’ll know what I mean if I say it’s “the fourth one”.
Removed slightly clunky phrasing, so everything flows together a little better. Pick a perspective and verb tense and stick with it! /lh
Added a little more showing instead of telling. Instead of just saying it was one of the only times he was truly afraid, make him shudder at the memory and THEN say that. Same for the last one - he wishes he could’ve killed Dark Nebula personally? Make him glare at the reminder that he even existed.
Speaking of which, added italics on “himself” in that sentence because I almost missed it when I first read through it and went “...but he is dead, kirby killed him? oh wait himself okay”. Also makes it clear where the emphasis in that sentence is supposed to be.
REMOVED RUN-ON SENTENCES /lh
Found a way to convey “teleport spamming” without using a video game word. Just prevents breaking immersion, that’s all
These all aren’t pacing issues, poor jokes, bad dialogue, or bad description. These are all basic grammatical issues. Your jokes are fine, your dialogue is fine, but I got taught almost all this stuff in second grade. I had a similar conversation with another friend of mine - I love her writing, and now that it’s easier to read, so do a lot of other people!
I hope you find this helpful - uhh for the record, I’ve only just finished Chapter 7 so don’t start sending spoilers in my inbox - and have a good day!!

Today is the day! Time to set sail and get in some well earned, long awaited summer time! Now what could everyone be up to? Here’s a little masterpost of everyone during the summer trip, who all went and who all didn’t!
Who went:
Rayman
Tumblr media
Nearly missed the boat. Slept in a tad bit and ran out in a panic. He probably lost half or all his luggage getting to the boat but hey. That’s okay. He’s going to fall back to sleep for the next few hours on the boat here. Expect to stop by every buffet and play some killer volleyball games by the time he wakes up.
Mumbo
Tumblr media
Made it on the boat in a good time! Has a...surprisingly large amount of luggage for just a summer vacation. A lot of security checks were done on the guy before he could board. Might want to have a close eye on him. Magical shenanigans may ensue shortly...Right after he gets a good sun tan, of course. May take a swing at making fresh summer drinks and grilling up some food if the staff needs those kind of volunteers.
Misango
Tumblr media
Made it on the boat...really early, actually. Has little to no luggage to take with him. Might or might not be looking forward to finding some souvenirs to take back with him when the boat hits land! Either found by himself somewhere on the boat, admiring the view...or in a panic trying to find his spirit that keeps floating off and getting lost on the boat.
Riki
Tumblr media
Very eagerly made it on the boat! Has promised his wifepon and all his littlepon to bring something back for every single one of them from his trip! Now could everyone please stop mistaking him as a volleyball? He’s been bumped, set and spiked more times than he can count and he’s only been on the ship for a couple of hours.
Who didn’t go:
Cappy
Tumblr media
Volunteered to stayed behind. He wants to be at the mansion to see and formally greet the new fighter when she joins the battle after all! But he’d be lying if he said he wasn’t a little bummed that he didn’t go with everyone else...
Fiora
Tumblr media
Staying behind in case anyone happens to need to go to the clinic. She’s also helping keep the place a little tidy. She wants it to look nice when everyone comes back! Might help make their welcome back meal as well.
Master Mummy
Tumblr media
...Just missed the boat. Actually had to be fished out because he just missed it. Currently taking some time to dry all his bandages off. Was heavily conflicted whether he should come along or not. That much water can be a little uncomfy to be around, but vacation time is pretty nice... Oh well. Rooms are mostly empty right? Time to raid the kitchen or something.
Daroach
Tumblr media
Chose to stay behind. Yeah, summer trip is nice and all, but too many people around to getting any decent stealing done. He prefers the colder weather anyways... Hey! Maybe the mansion is unguarded! Maybe he can find some stuff to steal for there!
Helix
Tumblr media
Missed the boat. Wait...there was a summer vacation? Why did no one tell the guy?

WIP Challenge
Fair warning, this is a LONG post. Maybe now, you will all understand why I don’t get anything done. @sociallyunacceptableorb @chingkittycat I cannot wait to learn how you name your documents.
I was tagged by @siverwrites
Oh, dear God. Youre all about to see the embarrassing amount of stuff I work on all at once across my multiple WIP folders
Challenge: post the names of all the files in your WIP folder, regardless of how non-descriptive or ridiculous.
Document4: A novel that I’m co-writing. It has a girl with mysterious powers and a scheming aristocrat. It’s kind of getting all my attention right now because deadlines for the publisher. It also has a character named Dorian, who I can’t take seriously after that ‘Funko Pop of Dorian Gray’ post.
STD Ch 2: STD is an unfortunate shortening of the title Silver-Tongued Devil, my Kirby fanfic where Nightmare keeps harassing Customer Service, a poor door-to-door salesman, into joining his monster selling company.
All Applicants Must Love Cats: The lesbian roommate serial killer novel.
Lord and Knight: Kirby fanfic that follows Sonata. Basically, Meta and Dedede become besties. It’s kind of like Once Upon a Dream but more...detailed?
MetaJecra: Heh. Jecra is a young and super enthusiastic knight who is on a knightly mission to find a monster terrorizing a nearby village and stealing their children, so he goes into the woods, finds Meta (who is not stealing people’s children), and they end up in this huge mess that Garlude has to bail them out of. This is The Adventures of Sir Jecra the Magnificent and Blueberry that I’ve referred to a couple of times.
Modern DLU: This has every scene I’ve ever written and not yet used for DLU.
Overcoming Child Abuse: Someone...long ago, posted this AU about Meta leaving Nightmare and going through therapy, while raising Kirby. And Dedede is Meta’s neighbor and thinks Meta is very attractive, but Meta doesn’t get it. It’s like a...critique of how mental health is treated/finding a good psychiatrist. It’s okay to go to therapy and get medicine and help kind of thing.
Prince Fluff: Chapter Two for Spinning a Yarn, my Kirby fanfic.
Sonatina: The ending chapter for Sonata, one of my other Kirby fanfics.
Sugar-Spun: Kirby gets abducted by an evil wizard who wants to eat him, but it does not all go according to plan.
Superhero AU Galaxia: The Kirby superhero AU focusing on post-Haltmann experimentation Meta, his relationship with Galaxia, and Dark and Daroach having a buddy cop thing going on.
The Golden AU: The Golden Lady AU where Garlude and Galaxia are in love, and no one dies.
Barbazul: Bluebeard with lesbians.
Dame Ragnelle: Basically, The Wedding of Sir Gawain, but different. After refusing a man’s advances, Lunette is cursed to be a hideous monster by night unless she can find a man willing to marry her and give her equal footing in their relationship; this, of course, will only work if she doesn’t tell the guy to do this. Lunette’s sister disguises herself as a knight, goes to Arthur’s court, and tells Arthur to solve that riddle or die. So Arthur sets off on this journey to give Gawaine (who hates him) some Family Bonding Treatment(TM). And they run into Lunette, who starts to really have the hots for Gawaine.
Knight Slayer: It’s basically Gareth and Lynette with emphasis on Lynette and her role in basically leading a bunch of knights to their deaths in trying to save her sister.
Legacy: Mysterious Pengu lady arrives and slips Dedede a love potion. She wants to marry him and save her country. Meta is not happy.
Romcom: A romantic comedy involving a couple of Zelda cosplayers.
Sectoniadedede: AU where Sectonia and Dedede have an arranged marriage, while secretly pining for Taranza and Meta.
Seraphina: One of my attempts to work out my childhood abuse and my incredibly dark and complicated family history.
The Lady Hero’s Journey: This strange hero’s journey involving Appalachia and folk tales, set during the Year without Summer.
The Once and Future Queen: Artura Pendragon pulls the sword from the stone, and basically...it’s kind of King Arthur exploring rape culture.
Astriferous: Woman destined to end the world per the wishes of the cult she lives in decides to run away with a powerful mage. In space.
Clarissa: A retelling of Samuel Richardon’s Clarissa, basically. But more modern.
Fire Emblem WIP: It’s about Corrin and Jakob.
Gerudo Fanfic: Remember that Zelda fic I wrote about a Gerudo transgender man becoming king? All the work for that is here.
GSA Fanfic: A Kirby anime fanfic.
IDEK plus drabbles: If you’ve given me an anon request that remained unanswered, it’s probably in progress here.
Lor: It’s about Magolor.
MetaxSectonia: It’s this...really creepy fic about Sectonia wanting to “remake” Dark in Meta Knight.
Paging Anna: A reference to Anna Freud. After trying to take over Dreamland, Dedede makes Meta Knight go through this fifteen-step program to overcoming his traumatic childhood.
Sleeping Beauty: It’s Link and Midna post-Twilight Princess. Link falls into some sort of eternal sleep, so Midna and Zelda have to reunite to find a way to wake him up. And there are some really annoying fairies.
Tangled AU: Nightmare is a doting, but lonely wizard who makes himself a son...who is promptly stolen by Yin-Yarn and replaced with a bunch of lettuce, leading to Nightmare’s sort of comedic attack on the Queen of Expy medieval Germany.
The Witch in the Woods: A sort of prequel for Sonata that I never finished.
WIP: It’s literally a bunch of Kirby odds and ends. I have a chapter of Prayers and Miracles here. There’s some of Sonata, a little bit of Spinning a Yarn. Some of The Corpse Bride is here.
Zelda Fanfic: Link and Ganondorf are best friends until Destiny comes calling.

Headcanon: Magolor hosts late-night slumber parties inside the Lor Starcutter
Tumblr media
Magolor's sleep schedule is... not very consistent, to say the least. There are several nights where he struggles to sleep, and so during those nights he'll reach out to someone to hang out with inside Lor.
... The people that accept the invitations are other villain-turned-dream-friends. They don't mind staying up late for such a thing!
Marx, Daroach, Taranza, Susie, Francisca, Flamberge and Zan Partizanne have all participated in Magolor's Lor slumber parties.
Of course, never all at the same time. But one of them may show up! Combinations of them may show up! Magolor appreciates it either way. He likes the company regardless, no matter if it's only one other person. He just considers the slumber parties to be incredibly fun!
The things that happen in these slumber parties include: pillow fights, drinking, playing extremely unhinged games of "truth or dare", having the Lor blast music, and having the Lor troll whatever group is inside for the night. There's more things, but these are the biggest ones, and I think you might get the general idea here at this point!
Typical slumber party stuff! They get very competitive with the pillow fighting, by the way. It's enriching for them to be competitive about it.
It's typical unhinged college-age young adults in their 20s having stupid unhinged fun here. That's more or less what this is.
Well... actually, I headcanon that Daroach and Zan are in their 30s in human years, but they still join in on the fun anyways, and everyone else that's mentioned here I interpret are in their 20s in human years.
These parties can range in time. They've done it as early as midnight, but they most commonly happen between 2 to 3 AM, and can even happen as late as 4 AM. The vast majority of people in Dream Land are well asleep at those times, which is of course where Magolor and the Lor claim as their home. And... uh, the slumber parties in the Lor can get pretty damn loud, especially if music is being played.
Don't be surprised if there's incidents where someone gets woken up by this shit and tells the group to quiet down, LOL.
The Lor herself enjoys these parties. She has a sense of humor similar to Magolor's, and so she loves doing these things at like 3 AM, not really caring if it disturbs the sleep of Dream Landers nearby.
Unfortunately, it's not very common for the groups in the slumber parties to be big in size. Susie and the mage sisters don't live in Popstar, and so they're only capable of participating in this thing whenever they come to vacation on the star-shaped planet.
Marx is the one that participates the most often by far, and there's many nights where it's just the twosome of Magolor and Marx. That's perfectly fun enough! They're best buds and enjoy these late nights.
Taranza can come by relatively often for these parties, since Floralia is still within Popstar and thus not a very far distance, but he doesn't get along with Marx and so those two will not show up for the slumber party at the same time. It's one or the other in that case.
Daroach also enjoys coming by quite a bit. While Magolor and Daroach enjoy stealing from each other during the day, they'll be more chill during the night and have a drink or something.
It becomes exciting when Susie or the mage sisters take a vacation on Popstar to be able to participate, and it becomes ESPECIALLY exciting in the occasion that Susie and the mage sisters vacation at the same time. That's indeed happened before, and oh boy do the slumber parties in the Lor get pretty big and fulfilling at that point.
I'll mention though that there are 100% nights where it's the threesome of Magolor, Susie and Taranza inside the Lor, because wave 3 trio sleepovers deserve to happen. And there's nights where it's a threesome of Magolor, Marx and Francisca, because Marx and Fran are close buds alongside Magolor. And there's other combinations existent for the parties. Lots of combinations like I said!
The spiciest slumber parties included Taranza, Susie and all three mage sisters. When the party got that big, it was nuts! It was incredible. So much unhinged fun was being had there. Six childish adults having ridiculous pillow fight competitions and some of them 100% got drunk in the end. They were all a damn mess when they woke up in the morning, LOL. But it's not like they care, they had fun!
Now you may be wondering how Magolor pulls this off nowadays when he runs an amusement park? It's alright, there may be occasions where he closes Merry Magoland for the day to chill out. He can use those opportunities for slumber parties. He can also take advantage of days where the park needs to close because of bad weather or something. The slumber parties did become less of an occurrence when Magoland first opened up, but they still happen sometimes! It happened a whole lot before Magoland first opened, though. A lot of these guys have fond memories of these parties.
Thanks for reading! Magolor is a fun-minded bro that's had a pretty ridiculous sleep schedule for many years, and so he used his messed up sleep schedule as a chance to host these silly parties in the Lor.

So I had an idea, Kirby characters and desserts themed on said character! Here is the first one I finished, it's everyone's favorite space egg Magolor!!! There two versions one with regular Magolor and then his alt form after getting the crown.
I was thinking of making this into a charm to sell, I wanted to hear opinion from y'all on whether this is something you'd be interested in buying. This would be my first time doing this but I'm working on setting up a store. Just let me know what you think in the comments

Mr. Gentleman Mouse Thief is in my mind at the moment, so allow me to talk about him for a little bit.
Tumblr media
Daroach isn't my most talked about Kirby character or anything, but I sincerely think that he's really cool beans.
Squeak Squad is... on the lower end of Kirby games for me, but at least it did introduce a very cool character in Daroach.
He's definitely my favorite out of the wave 2 dream friends.
I love that this guy just has an aura of coolness around him not commonly seen in most others in the cast. And I also love that even after redeeming himself, he's legit canonically still a thief LMAO.
Daroach's thievery antics make a lot of room for potential as to how he could interact with others in the cast, in my opinion.
I don't necessarily take Star Allies intro gags as either canon or gospel, but I'm well aware of the gag where Daroach steals Magolor's ship away from him. And I think that was utterly hilarious.
My interpretation of Daroach is that he's laidback, good-humored, and is capable of notable kindness as he has a soft spot for some people (most notably his squad, Kirby, and the rest of wave 2). But he also very much enjoys causing mischief via committing robberies.
He steals from most of the other dream friends, quite frankly. Although it's not particularly personal as he doesn't really have disdain for any of them. He just does it because it's fun and enriching for him. He's relatively indiscriminate in terms of who he robs, as there are only a few people that he truly won't steal from.
Those few people include Kirby (because he ain't gonna mess with Kirby), Adeleine, Ribbon (because he'd feel terrible to steal from them), and Meta Knight (he'd want you to believe the reason he doesn't steal from Meta Knight is because of how cool Meta is, but in reality it's because Meta Knight WOULD MAKE HIM REGRET IT).
Daroach is a trollish guy in my headcanons. He's good-humored, like I said. He cracks bad jokes and he might talk your ear off when he's hanging out with you. Part of the motivation of him stealing from certain people such as King Dedede is by virtue of liking to get a rise out of them.
My interp of Daroach being this good-humored is what allows him and Marx to be friends, as they both have that "enjoyment from getting reactions out of people" thing in common. They've definitely teamed up together in mischief before.
I've also blessed Dark Meta Knight by having him be buddies with Daroach.
I like to imagine Daroach's (and by extension, the entire squeak squad's) home being secretive. Like a hideout. It'd make sense because if people found out, their place would totally get raided in revenge for all the robbery attempts. My headcanon is that the squeak squad has their hideout located in a secret place in the Popstar country of Sand Canyon (an area introduced in Dreamland 3).
But yeah, that kinda sums it up here. I've got a lot more for Daroach that I could talk about but I'm gonna keep it brief (at least in comparison to a lot of my other posts LOL).
The guy is super cool and sly, and the stuff we have to work with for him can be very fun use in terms of how he could interact with other characters. Mischievous gentleman thief that's laidback and likes to have fun!

I very much like my headcanons of all the villain-turned-dream-friends still being very flawed people one way or another.
I'd say that they could all be considered morally grey to various degrees. Some may be nicer than others, but overall I wouldn't really call any of them saints. None of them are irredeemably evil, and Kirby is friends with every single one of them, but they're all still flawed. And Kirby is basically their 'parole officer' as he keeps them all in check.
This post got quite long as I wrote everything I wanted, so I'm gonna post a 'Keep reading tag' down below.
Feel free to click on it if you'd like to see my interpretations on the flaws of some Kirby characters! I'll be covering Marx, Dark Meta Knight, Daroach, Magolor, Taranza, Susie and the mage sisters here.
Marx may be on Kirby's good side now as he's not looking to attempt conquest on Popstar again, but he's still essentially an agent of chaos. He's loud, he's obnoxious, he's widely known to be a prankster, and he loves getting a rise out of people. He enjoys causing scenes purely for the sake of it. And his sense of humor isn't exactly good at having tact, as he'll make jokes out of things that most others wouldn't dare do. He can be considered the most insufferable one out of the bunch.
But there are good qualities to him, too. Some people legitimately think he's the funniest guy alive, so there's that. Marx loves attention in general, regardless if it's bad or good attention, and so he gets delighted if someone likes him and enjoys his antics. He loves it when people decide to join him on mischief. If you're his friend, he'll often give you stuff to laugh about and you're likely to find yourself having fun with him. If he likes you enough, he'll even stand up for you if someone else antagonizes you. His friends are literally his homies.
He's still quite the wild creature, though. It requires a lot of patience and a lax/chill attitude to be able to put up with Marx. It's not uncommon for him to find ways to instigate chaos in Star Allies gatherings. But he CAN be forced to behave, albeit not always easily. Kirby and Magolor are the ones that can most easily get him to listen.
Dark Meta Knight is still a standoffish jerk with a temperament. He's rude, brutal, and isn't at all afraid to say things that might run shivers down people's spines. He's prone to violence if he feels even the least bit agitated. He's also a rather detached person that does not care to make friends with most of the other star allies, and is quite a big hater for the ones that get on his nerves. He has a bad habit of being too blunt about wishing death or general ill-will for people he hates.
Not just that, but I headcanon that Dark Mind is technically still alive as a neutralized little fragment that desperately needs assistance. DMK hasn't given up trying to bring DM back to its former glory, and is still devoted enough to do what DM asks of him to do. It's not actually as frightening as it sounds, though. Trying to bring DM back to its former glory may be impossible due to how much it'd take, so that threat may not warrant much concern, but DMK still strives for it.
But DMK can be kept in check at times by a few others in the cast. I headcanon that DMK is friends with Daroach, Adeleine, Ribbon and Kirby, and he does care about what they think of him. But I hc those are the only friends he has in the cast, as he's the dream friend with the least amount of friends. He doesn't care about anyone else. He's also willing to do art stuff with Adeleine, and will protect his friends from danger. But overall, DMK is still a ruthless son-of-a-gun.
Daroach has a notably kind-hearted side to him, but he's also absolutely still a thief. Some people are ticked off by his persistent thievery. He likes the challenge of breaking into certain areas and to see what's he capable of successfully stealing. This can get especially irritating for some if he's brought the entire squeak squad with him for these instances. Daroach also has a trollish/smug side to him, as he thinks it's funny to get reactions out of people as he steals from them.
He does have standards, though. There are people that Daroach will NOT steal from. This includes Kirby, Adeleine, the entirety of Ripple Star (he'd feel bad to rob from that planet) and he also respects Meta Knight enough to never steal anything from the Halberd. He's also a softy around Kirby. And there's times in the day where Daroach decides to be chill and not steal anything. He can be quite a laidback bro if he's your friend. He has a big sense of humor and if you don't mind him pulling lighthearted fast ones on you, he'll gladly do that.
But he's still our resident thief! Hahaha. And he often has a rather shady demeanor that might make some people put their guards up.
Magolor did make a well known apology and created an amusement park to back it up, but I headcanon he's still very much a flawed person. Much like his buddy Marx, Magolor is a mischievous prankster that likes getting a rise out of people at times, although he's much more tactful than the jester in this regard. There's other problems with Magolor, like how he often says awkward things that make it evident he doesn't have the best understanding of social cues. He also has a tendency to insert himself into things, due to still having a bit of an ego, and he can sometimes be a blatantly obvious suck-up.
It's also arguably somewhat flawed morality-wise on Magolor's behalf to have made all the masks he did for Merry Magoland. He had great intentions with that, as he wanted to honor many people with that, but he made a lot of them without permission. And it ended up being pretty awkward for some people to see the masks. Thankfully, it didn't elicit any reactions bad enough for Magolor to lose any friends, but he arguably should've gotten many people's permission first.
Magolor is still buds with Kirby despite his current flaws, though. And he actually cares about being liked and cares about making people have fun, and so he makes sure that he has standards accordingly for that. He also just has very weird ways of going on about trying to be a better person than what he was before. But regardless, he's trying!
Taranza may be mourning the death of his beloved queen, but as a matter of fact I do not headcanon him to be a complete softboy! Once enough time passed for him to start properly recovering from his loss, he's eventually started coming back to being a snobby rich-theater kid type of guy like he was before. He can be very bizarrely smug and confident at times. He has an iconic devious smile. He makes webs at people's homes with often trollish messages. Don't be surprised if he sneakily rearranges the stuff in your home without you looking.
And believe it or not, he also has a secretly vengeful and vindictive side to him. He'd love to torment and beat up everyone that picks on him. And because it was a dimensional mirror that corrupted his queen, he heavily resents the mirror world and talks smack about its inhabitants. Honestly if he saw a dimensional mirror again he'd love to break it and smash it to pieces. He also legit wants DMK to die.
But overall, Taranza is no serious bad guy anymore. He does have a definite nice and caring side to him. He's really grateful to all of his friends that have helped him out with his grief (especially Susie, who understands him better than anyone else does) and he'd panic like frick when one of his friends gets hurt. He doesn't want to lose any of his current friends, the last thing he needs is MORE things to grieve over. He's also glad to show people about flora. He's also still just a silly-ass rich theater guy that can be quite a big, dramatic handful.
Susie, while no longer the terrifying colonizer she once was, is still very much a corporate-minded woman with a lot of unhinged stuff going on with her. The HWC's practices are substantially improved in her rule compared to what it was in her dad's rule, but she still makes corny business decisions at times. She has a notable stubborn streak, and is often a bit too blunt and formal to people she isn't close enough to be friends with. She's also feisty and a bit too ruthless when it comes to combat, as it may require others to calm her down. And like Magolor, she gets awkward at times with her low understanding of social cues.
She's also still a mad-scientist at heart, although she's mostly stopped mechanizing people (except for those that explicitly WANT it) and has largely shifted to applying her mad-scientist desires on inanimate objects such as toys and accessories. I headcanon that Susie has an entire hobby of making super-detailed custom furbies as I wrote a post about it. But despite the improved shift, she often gets way ahead of herself when experimenting on inanimate objects to the point that the final result of her creations are pretty darn freaky and unnerving to some people. She really loves doing it, though! And the unhinged level of detail to her creations can be hilarious to some.
Susie does have friends that she cares about, and she lets them reign her in as she doesn't want to disappoint them. And despite usually being rather cold, she's not entirely without her kind moments. Susie is at her nicest when interacting with Taranza and Kirby, and she has other friends like Magolor and the mage sisters that she can be great with. Her friends are the one thing that help motivate her to get better. But despite that, Susie is still absolutely a big handful in terms of flaws. She's still a vindictive, standoffish, corporate mad-scientist that's ballsy enough to constantly snap back during confrontations!
The Mage Sisters are still chaotic menaces. They're exceptionally grateful to Kirby and co. for saving them and Hyness in HiAD, and so they definitely ain't doing that Void Termina crap again, but these women still engage in absurdly violent and bombastic activities. They love to destroy random buildings for no real reason other than just for kicks and giggles. They cackle like hyenas when they cause mischief.
Francisca is perhaps the most obviously flawed mage sister, as she literally keeps her frozen trophy collection and even tries to expand it! That's a bruh moment. It doesn't exactly help that she's close buddies with Marx as those two will just make some absolutely absurd hijinks together. Her relatively quiet nature can also be rather unnerving. It's not all bad, though, as she can be genuinely sweet to people that she cares about. And she's kind enough to give you free water with her soda gun if you'd like that, but overall she's an extraordinary freak.
Flamberge is the nicest of the three mage sisters, but she still has her fair share of chaos as she loves causing big booms with her fire abilities. She can be considered a daredevil with that sort of thing. Another notable flaw with her is that she lets Francisca get away with anything. She will NEVER hold her psychotic blue sister accountable. And there's of course her temperament, but she's surprisingly chill a lot of the time and is really only angry if given an actual reason to be.
Zan Partizanne can be quite rude with excessive name-calling, as she has a mentality of "it goes both ways" when her name can't be said right. If you can't say her name right, then she'll make it even by giving you some unhinged nickname. She also has a guilty pleasure of starting playful bickering matches with people purely for fun. That being said, she's something of a leader alongside Hyness at the Jambandran base and is always glad to help guide people around the place, but she can overall be quite a standoffish and feisty person.
The mage sisters do care about trying to be better, though. They want to make Kirby proud as he's essentially their little hero. They're still incredibly unhinged people by virtue of being raised in a literal cult, though, and they still love to start ruckuses and cause chaos. With the amount of mischief they cause with their weapons, it may be wise to keep some distance as to not get caught in their weapons' range.
-----
That's basically everything I got. All these characters are still very flawed people to me. They're all redeemable to various extents, but yeah. I like to think that they all need occasional slaps on the wrists by Kirby. He's their 'parole officer' like I said at the beginning of the post. He keeps them in check. And it works as they all respect him!
But despite sometimes slapping them on the wrists, Kirby does care about all these people. He's friends with all of them. He cheers them on as they progress in life. When they do good things, he's proud of them! He also can't help but feel sorry for the more traumatized ones.
Kirby has remarkable tolerance. He can basically be friends with bad people, lol. He always has faith and sees the good in people. He's the perfect little guy to motivate people to get better. He can keep someone in check from doing bad things, and is merciful enough to always give them a second chance. Man, thank this universe for Kirby!
Thanks for reading if you did. See you for the next one.
