i read all of serious weakness in a single nail-biting night after finally deciding to just go for it and came out the other end totally loving it ^_^)/ !!! i just ordered a copy of torture works, & i'm super excited ! i also just wanted to say, wow, i've never seen my condition of not being able to visualise memories or thoughts depicted so fantastically as you did with insul. it's such an intrisic part of how i experience the world and how it informs my anxieties and relationships and i've literally hardly ever seen it talked about anywhere, let alone woven so truthfully into such a complex character. thank you for your amazing work !!!

time for me to talk about analog horror, inspiration, and time

okay so, i see a lot of people shitting on analog horror at this time, especially including like.. series inspired by tmc (such as basswood county, etc etc) but also including other "big ones" in the genre, such as petscop, ghe, or local58. and like, i get it- youre trying to see new stuff. that's understandable. however...

is the "need" for new content enough to excuse being an ass to new creators? is it really? because hoenstly, i'm just happy to see people finding happiness in this genre and learning about how they want to make their own art. basswood county, especially- it's similar to tmc on the surface. it surrounds the creepy-crawly happenings in/around a county, uncanny humanoids, and more. however, the creator of basswood county (who i believe is called DarkMind on youtube, correct me if i'm wrong) incorporates his own drawings into the series, which, honestly, is super cool! i'm absolutely ecstatic that someone is finding a medium to make their art that makes them happy.

however, this also relates to like... creepypasta stories (especially the regular game creepypasta stories, like ben drowned, sonic.exe, and even petscop) and how people think theyre cringy. because like.. chances are, there was a creepypasta author out there seeing these people shit on their writing and going "oh... i worked hard on that" and hiding away their writings because of it. and this shouldnt happen! people should be proud of their writing even if it was ass! creepypastas quite literally influenced a good part of the internet, and chances are, the internet wouldnt be the same today without them.

overall, i do think that like... we should really stop being asses about an analog horror series being based on something before it, then that being based on something before it, then on and on. i, personally, really love seeing the influences in an analog horror series that i'm watching! i love going "oh!! thats where you got that from!!" and its awesome because i remember this happens all the time, in art, in movies, in shows, etc etc. so yeah ❤️
