Apparently a newer White Dwarf issue did another series of pages dedicated to hyping up the Darkmech and Vashtorr.

Apparently there has been a rise in Tech Heresy and sightings of Warp Mechanicum forces, some directly under Vashtorr's authoirty. The completion of Wyrmwood is attributed to this.

Iron Warriors and Black Legion particularly among the Chaos Marines, for obvious reasons.

How would one access smutcrons on the Noosphere? Would you need something like a VPN and a Torrent? You know, for science.

You have to purchase a VPN from either the Dark Mechanicum or The Drukhari (Darkmech VPN subscriptions are cheaper but Drukhari VPNs contain less daemons). After that, you need to access CorsairBay, a combination of torrenting website and black market shopping service hosted by Duke Sliscus. The authorities have been trying to shut the site down for years, but the servers are within the Duke's flagship, and basically impossible to get to.

Maybe Chaos Guard with mutant steeds as a counterpart to Loyalist Rough Riders, too.

I realy hope that this is the start of a trend for more "Cavalry" units in Chaos Space Marine design. Riding into battle on other living creatures is something so absolutely out of place in a science-fiction setting that it circles around to being cool again. But unlike the gimmic of the guard units, or the Squigs that are just orkish destruction grown in a different form, there is some actual relevant symbolism going on with Chaos.

Riding a beast into battle is essentially fighting with borrowed strenght. You might have managed to subdue the beast or even negotiated for its cooperation, but in the end its the beast doing and and not you. Isn't that a fascinating mirror to their deals with the Dark Gods and the borrowed powers they all wield? And who is truly in control? The one hoding the reigns or the beast who has the last say in where the trip goes?

Nurgle obviously won't get any as cavalry want to go fast and he sure does not. But Khorne can easily get more of these, and an more sleek and elgeant version of this for the Emperor's Children and Slaanesh doesn't sound too out of place either. Tzeench can get a flying equivalent of it, definetly would give Thousand Sons a proper Fast Attack option.

I say Darkmech could be combined with "Chaos Guard", and just have it be one book that can lean into certain specialized lists.

With Dark Admech being a real possibility in the near future with the leaks being shown pretty accurate, what would you expect and/or want them to be like?

I think it’ll probably just be 1 or 2 units added to the CSM codex honestly, a full codex kinda seems like overkill considering all the demon engines and vehicles that would overlap. I’d want possessed Skitarii as an elite option with a bunch of warp weapons and fleshmetal mutations. I’d want a corrupted Tech Priest, and mutant Servitors. Maybe some robots like Kastelans with horns growing on their armor or flesh growing from parts within.

naturally, the best way for one to do that is pop back to the Ruinstorm, grab some Alpha Legionaries and Night Lords, fuse both groups’ leaders with one of your hellspawn and a bunch of prime DarkMech swag into a cybernetic arachnid fetish nightmare, and hope you remember to take her out of the oven in ten millennia
