It hadn't been too long since Darkflow got that multiversal chatroom on her phone, but the opportunities brought about by the people in it were exactly what she'd had in mind. She'd always wanted to get out of the party life and into something more substantial, but circumstances made anything else rather hard since that was what all her friends did.

So, as she was on Artice's train, looking out the window, one of the stops had rather familiar-looking people there. She decided that this was the best place to start her new adventures, and got off, making her way off the train quickly.

If there were train stations in this world, this train would have rode the tracks. If not, it would have come about in a secluded area so that nobody would see a flying train.

Dawnfoot: Not much, really. Nothing even close to your rebellion. I really only had kits with Cinderpelt-

Copperleaf, alarmed: What?!

Dawnfoot: Wait not like that! She asked me to sire a litter for her is all! I swear, I don't even like mollies like that, and I definitely don't do romance. Actually, it's pretty common for young warriors to ask someone to sire kits for them, for a number of reasons.

Copperleaf: So... she approached you? You swear you didn't take advantage of her?

Dawnfoot: Yeah. This was all her choice, and I was someone she trusted. I also wasn't her only option, just the one who agreed. And this was before she became a seer, too. She got to stay a warrior for longer.

Copperleaf, relieved: Oh, thank StarClan. For a moment I was afraid you were like him. (Referring to Finchflight mostly)

Dawnfoot: Stars, no! My half-siblings had it a lot worse, but all of us got compared to him, and we were all determined not to be like that. (Referring to Thistleclaw) To the point where my half-sister chose to become a seer like my mother. She loved healing at least.

Copperleaf: Do you know anything about your Dawncloud?

Dawnfoot: Not really... she was one of Brokentail's "mates" I think? He had a lot of them... I think his last one was barely apprentice-aged.

while researching for this, i came across darkflower, and some timeline... not inconsistencies ig? but more troubling implications created by, of course, yellowfang’s secret

cw: discussion of brokenstar’s shadowclan, and The Dawncloud Thing

darkflower is pretty much a nothing character. she’s rowanclaw and cedarheart’s mother and scorchwind’s mate. her first appearance is as an allegiance-only queen in fire and ice, and then she’s mentioned once in tigerclaw’s fury, the ultimate guide, and the last hope each.

where she isn’t mentioned, at all, is yellowfang’s secret (or exile from shadowclan), which takes place in shadowclan pretty much right up until the start of into the wild. she’s just no where to be found, but she needs to be a queen by fire and ice in order to have rowanclaw and cedarheart, who are apprentices by a dangerous path. 

there’s about 6 moons between yellowfang being driven out and the start of fire and ice, so it is possible for darkflower to have been born, apprenticed at 3 moons, completed training, and then moved into the nursery at 6 moons within that time, similar to dawncloud.

there’s also the possibility that she’s a rogue who joined shadowclan after yellowfang was driven out, but unlike cedarstar and nightstar, brokenstar isn’t known to have taken in rogues. he’d rather kidnap another clan’s kits then bolster shadowclan’s ranks with rogues. also, her son is rowanclaw. the guy who brags about the blood purity of his kits in po3? its unlikely that shes a rogue.

we do know, thanks to the mess that is yellowfang’s secret, that dawncloud was apprenticed at ~3 moons, completed training, and had kits at around 9-ish moons of age. then brokenstar sent her kits into battle.

maybe between dawncloud and darkflower, this could just something that brokenstar... did? forced recently graduated female warriors to have kits for him to throw into battle?

Description: A small, fluffy pure black molly with dark orange eyes. She has long fur and a fluffy, plumy tail. Smaller than average, but very beautiful by ShadowClan standards.

Personality: Darkflower grew up in Brokenstar's ShadowClan with skewed morality. Apprenticed at 3 moons old and made a warrior at 6, when Brokenstar deemed her fertile enough to bear his kits, she was forced to grow up very quickly. Though deeply uncomfortable, Darkflower had to bow to the whims of her leader, and no one said anything about how wrong it was as they didn't want to end up exiled like Yellowfang. Even Brokenstar's closest followers thought this was messed up, forcing a barely apprentice-aged molly to be his mate. It's only when Darkflower becomes pregnant with Brokenstar's kits that she realizes how messed up her kithood was. The stress of Brokenstar being chased out in addition to her young age caused a difficult pregnancy; one kit, who she named Hemlockkit, was stillborn, and Quietkit, despite her size, never grew strong. Turtlepaw and Rubblepaw made it to apprenticeship, but became ill with Carrionplace disease. Disease claimed Turtlepaw's life and weakened Rubblepaw to the point of probably early retirement after he became Rubblestrike. Darkflower herself, traumatized and desperate to be loved, latched onto the rogue Mowgli almost immediately, and though their relationship moved way faster than it probably should have, both were happy, and soon Darkflower was raising another litter of kits, who all wound up thriving. However, her time in the nursery triggered flashbacks to when she had Brokenstar's kits, and after a long talk with Nightwhisper, it was agreed they wouldn't try for any further litters. She wouldn't give up her kits for the world, but she wishes she had been allowed to grow up before her first litter was born.

Derek is back at Beacon Hills, a place he never wanted to set foot again, in search of his sister Laura. He finds the burnt husk of his childhood home falling into complete ruins and is haunted by a young human girl, who is trying to escape from her own demons. Derek is not here to make allies or to get involved with the lives of the local teenagers who get bitten by his crazy uncle, but the human girl won't let him be. Then there is her chatterbox of a brother who either have a thing for Derek or is just messing with his head. And maybe, just maybe, Derek is kind of lonely and pathetic and the fact that somebody falling for him truly and deeply is such a foreign concept nowadays that he allows himself to be drawn into the vortex of the craziness that is called Stiles Stilinski who leaves him dazzled and baffled in equal measure.
