This was the au I was planning on making art for then revealing but at this points it’s gonna take like a month and I can’t wait that long.

Sophist - Doug Houser (DOUG HAS NO RELEVANCE IN THIS AU, SOPHIST REPLACES HIM ENTIRELY AND IN NO WAY WILL HE SHARE THE SAME BACKSTORY)

Brent - E (B)

Nick - Dark Star/Lucky (?) (he’s still in development but I’d like him to be one of Malak’s generals. Lucky fits him the most but I really don’t want to just destroy the Joy Joy Gang so his placement would make sense, idk I’ll probably just switch between the 2 cause we haven’t properly seen Dark Star yet)

Vernias - Mama Bear (originally he was gonna be Bierce’s assistant but that didn’t make sense to me, later thought about replacing him with Bierce entirely but then there goes a large portion of the story. Then thought about switching him with the orb spirit but I didn’t really want him to be theoretically tied with Sophist’s past. Would he be a genuine loving parental figure in this au? yes, Does he care about his work more in this au? Well within the realms of MB’s character, probably. I would’ve given this placement to Nick because she’s the lead executioner but her personality heavily contradicts his).

Now what is this game exactly?

Dark Deception is about a mortal named Doug Houser who must help a woman named Bierce if he wants to fulfill his deepest desires. However he’s going to have to suffer a lot to get it. In Bierce’s ballroom, there a portals that lead to different areas across the nightmare realm, each filled with monsters to protect a ring piece. The ring pieces when together form the Riddle of Heaven which contain a demon’s power that can be used to do whatever the user wants. However these pieces are scattered in 10 different portals. Of course, Doug isn’t the first one to have attempted to do this before, as thousands of other mortals have met their ends here trying.

Now for a brief explanation of each character that the PC’ers are swapped with to give u a general idea

Doug is not a good person however he does regret a lot of his actions. (Yes I’m purposefully leaving out a bunch of details because he is a HEAVILY controversial character and I really do not want that to be associated with Sophist in this au like at all)

E was the mortal here before Doug, however she planned to escape on her own rather then doing whatever Bierce wanted. It was a suicide mission to even attempt something as horrifying as this. She left behind her tablet to make it seem like she died, but really she found a relic that would help her teleport across the portals, she just has to be careful with who she encounters.

Not much is known about Dark Star other then the fact she’s the warden of Prison Panic, one of Malak’s generals, and a pop star (kinda?) because the chapter she is in (5) has not released yet. She is one of the main enemies in Chapter 5

Lucky is the leader of the animatronic group called the Joy Joy Gang and one of Malak’s generals (if I remember correctly). He’s a bit childish but his insanity makes up for it. Often getting all happy like trying to kill you. He doesn’t take your attacks seriously at all, because he has his name for a reason. He never loses.

Mama Bear is another one of Malak’s generals and is the lead executioner for him, any beings who step out of line would be brought to her portal to be finished off. In a way, she has an addictive motherly presence that leads to many mortals being driven to her. She uses that to her advantage to pull off a motherly figure persona that makes herself seem innocent. Despite it being a persona, she does take care of her children (I think at least).

The OCs are a little self-indulgent so they're a sampling of what I like personally, plus whatever I was able to make with the options available on Picrew. 😂

I have some of the "old" versions of their designs on my PC still, so I'll include some of those here too.

When I first wrote Azra’s character, I was deep in my Sukuna (S01 JJK) brain rot and he was the original influence physically. That was when he was just a character I talked to one of my friends about and wrote out a rough version of his story.

I changed his appearance when I decided to post about him here (it was mostly his hair that needed changing). I wanted him to have wavy-ish hair because it would be fun to play with. I thought it would also make him look deceptively soft for a demon too (it was more fitting when he was still an angel). He has a lot of tattoos on his neck/arms/chest but he got those in the Devildom and they’re meant to help cover his scarring from previous injuries.

Zekhan is supposed to be a bit of a contrast to Azra since they spend so much time together and I didn't want them to look alike or be mistaken as brothers. He's generally a bit more serious/severe looking and not very approachable. He wears glasses because his vision isn't the greatest and, well, I like glasses. I figured that non-human characters in the Devildom/Celestial Realm would have more variety in their hair colours (going off what we've seen with Barbatos/Mephisto/Thirteen) so he has dark blue hair. His demon form is inspired by the Gargoyles' character designs a little bit and I thought dark blue would work for a bat demon whose specialty is blending into the darkness while still being a bit colourful and other-worldly.

I pictured Karasu as a more literal representation of a crow demon: dark hair, dark skin, dark eyes. For his story, the bright and colourful design/aesthetic of KARASU OS was something he was not involved with designing, which I thought would be amusing. (I could see the designers purposefully doing that since they know it'd be the last colour scheme he'd ever use.) Also, I wanted him to have something a bit demonic/menacing about his appearance that would contrast with the quiet but kind demon MC would meet, which I represent with his red irises and dark sclera.

The different versions of him let me play around with how I think he'd change his hair and fashion over time. He doesn't need glasses but I think he would wear them anyway while working.

They're all "average" in terms of demon height/body type. Based on my personal height headcanons, Azra would be the tallest at 6'1 or 6'2. Karasu is the shortest around 5'9. Zee is somewhere between the two.

Azra is a bit more muscular, but not as buff as someone like Beel. Zee is broad-shouldered and slightly muscular (especially his arms) but lean overall. Karasu is slender but not very muscular.

If they had to admit what makes them insecure about their appearance, Azra and Zee would both be most self-conscious about their scars. Azra's the confident and out-going type so he's very good at hiding that. Zee's demon form is the most animalic of the three so he might be nervous showing it to a human MC for the first time. Karasu's short height and slender build make him feel smaller and weaker compared to other demons, but he compensates by investing in tailored clothes and looking put-together in public.

I am the creator of the Shards of Destruction (SOD) AU (majority of it can be seen through Crashingstar), Infinity Train AU, Dark Deception AU, Mario + Rabbids AU, and possibly many more!

Okay so Vernias’s placement in the unnamed au is kind of controversial because within the characters of the existing game, NONE OF THEM fit Vernias. I was already iffy with his original placement because it didn’t make sense with the canonical lore so my next best bet was have him be one of the character’s that work alongside Nick. There is one character I could switch him with instead but we barely know them yet and like I said before, the last chapter of the game will determine A LOT of things for this au, placing him as that character is a massive risk because I’m pretty sure they’re heavily tied to the MC’s backstory.

I know that sounds like incredibly confusing because I’m trying to keep this au as secret as possible before I actually post about it but I’ll explain after I do reveal it.

I just realized something

U know when Vernias wanted Sophist to atone for his sins after casting thunder spell on an innocent child?

Well his anger will no where compare to his absolute fury when Sophist kills multiple of his children after fleeing from his execution

I randomly thought of Vernias being interested in Lady Gaga’s music after having been told about her from a victim of his. (he has a tactic of manipulating his victims into thinking they’re “special” and how he’s going to “free” them because he secretly hates everything about his job. His aura makes this tactic flawless, until Sophist but we’re not there yet) However he’s sad he’s never going to experience her music. Then Nick comes over to his realm for a small visit and then Vernias mentions her.

Vernias: and apparently she’s been on “tour?” Whatever that means but she sounds so cool!

Nick: Yeah her performance for Poker Face was so cool. I wish I could relive that experience

Turns out Nick has access to the mortal realm for music inspiration to maintain his status as pop star. He ended up promising Vernias to take him with him whenever he goes out again. Vernias’s interest later became an obsession.

Also I imagine they died somewhere around the 1700’s or were created from Malak.

Brent may not know who Sophist is (for now) but Sophist would go through hell and back to find him after truly realizing the reality of the situation at hand. He can’t do this alone, it’s a miracle someone other then him has survived for this long, it’s even more impressive when Brent doesn’t even have the power of the ring pieces like Sophist does.

I just have to keep my fingers crossed about the final chapter of the game I’m making an au out of with the Party Crashers (still keeping it unknown btw) because how it ends can and will determine A LOT of the plot and characters

Regardless of the au, I’ll enjoy the final chapter either way

Though from what I hear of the chapter, Nick may be able to serve the most cunt out of the Party Crashers because of who I swapped him with.
