Okayso. I've been thinking a lot about Dark Dan, and Vlad, and the relationship between the two, and one thing that gets to me is that really, everyone seems to neglect the *Vlad* portion of Dark Dan. Like, yes. He's Danny's ghost half. But he's also Vlad's. And I feel like no one ever really explores Dan fully. Like, yeah, we get it, he's dark Danny. But he's also light Vlad. Not in the sense that he's a good guy or anything, but in the sense that… Plasmius' Obsession is Family, or at least that's how I've always seen it. When the Fentons died, he lost his family. Sure, Danny was there, but Danny was a sad, depressed fourteen year old. Sad, depressed fourteen year olds aren't pillars that you should be leaning on for support when your two best friends, people who've been closer to you than your own parents, die.

Plasmius' Obsession is Family.

Phantom's is Protection.

People, me included, talk about Dan's Obsession like it's just Danny's, but broken, but that's not entirely it. Plasmius' Obsession is there, too, and it ends up neglected a lot.

I want a story where Dan sees Danny as a human and he just freezes for a split second. The Vlad part of Dan feeling kinship and mourning with the poor boy and the Phantom part of Dan suddenly feeling remorse and fear. The memories of Dan walking away from Danny, human half of Vlad scrambling to scoop him into his arms, flashing in front of his eyes as he stared at Danny. Ten years of anger, fear, and compartmentalizing one's own feelings freeing themselves as he stares at what he used to be before he turned himself into a monster

Dan may of killed the human half of Danny Fenton; but that doesn't mean he can't feel human emotions.

Dark Danny canonically has fusion powers

He fused himself with Vlad's ghost. He fused kid Danny with the time medallion so that he couldn't take it off and go back to his normal time. He can just grab things and make them apart of people, or he can take sentient beings and make them apart of himself, with him still coming out as the dominant personality...

... Why have I not come across anything on this site that takes advantage of this?

Summary:

After having to go to the Far Frozen to check why his ghost sense is acting up, Danny finds himself the primary target during a fight with Dan and Pariah Dark. Things get more complicated when the Ancient Seals of the Barren Realms become involved. Now, Danny has to learn about the Ancients and the new powers these Seals provide the wearer before once again fighting the two hardest foes he's ever faced.
