I finally saw the Dark Crystal (1982) last night. What a wonderful story of bravery and shadow integration, simple yet powerful. Brian Froud's beings always amaze me. December is going to be full of magic.

Lukewarm take but like, if Undertale gets a movie in the wake of the inevitable rush of game adaptations thanks to Mario movie's blockbuster success, we can all agree they need to do it Dark Crystal-style, right?
As in like, if it's live-action, everyone needs to be a goddamn Jim Henson's Creature Shop-type puppet except Frisk.
We all agree that anything else would be unacceptable, right?

Me and my roommate took our new TV's virginity with The Dark Crystal (1982) and holy fuck, BANGER film. I thought it was just some weird nostalgia vaguely-Narnia-shaped movie for some reason, but it actually has incredible world building, practical effects, characters, and storytelling. And the amount of character and personality that they get out of the puppetry is so much more flavorful and fun than the art style of 90% of animated films, like holy shit can we bring back puppets in movies please.
