I have watched many episodes of Scooby Doo

And here is the info I have gathered since the last update:

Velma Dinkley:

-Velma’s glasses correct her lazy eye (I don’t think glasses can do that though, can they??) and astigmatism

-Velma went to Space Camp and claimed her last name was DeGrasse Tyson

-She wanted to be an astronaut, but she wouldn’t have been able to pass the eye test

Fred Jones:

-He always has a spare catapult in his traps

-Daphne calls him Freddy

-Velma calls him Freddy

-At one point, Scooby calls him Freddy

-He is always honest

-He called the Mystery Machine “my love”

-The mystery Machine has a foot-shaped gas pedal

-He is in a band that uses all power tools and he plays the radial saw?????

-He has a trapping YouTube channel and the only subscriber is his mom (shame on the gang, honestly, how dare they not subscribe to his channel)

Daphne Blake:

-Not entirely that important, but he head is bigger than her waist

Shaggy Rogers:

-He plays the accordion

-He writes poetry (about food)

-He does yoga

-He’ll eat Vegan food, because “food is food”

-He is susceptible to food poisoning (he and Scooby eat dumpster donuts and throw up)

Scooby Doo:

-susceptible to food poisoning

-Scooby Doo collects expensive shoes (and then chews on them)

-Scooby Doo has an income???? (Maybe an allowance from Shaggy?)

I bring up the “Freddy” things because of how stupid it was for them to make Fred say that people he’s dating call him Freddy. It doesn’t even make sense I’m the context of Mystery Inc. But I’m not there yet, maybe I’ll watch that one next.

To do this film justice, the Grue-Crew invited two guest hosts, Ralph Miller III and Bill Mulligan, both lifelong Ray Harryhausen and stop-motion-animation fanatics and special effects artists. As a result, Daphne, Jeff, and their guests record a record-length Classic Era episode. There is so much to talk about and… well, only a few sidetrack discussions. Let’s face it. Who doesn’t love the Ymir? If you make it to the end of the episode, you can say hello to our little friend. It’s a Ralph Miller creation, and it is so much fun!

Bloom = Bloomix Flora = Butterflix Stella = Cosmix Aisha = Sirenix Roxy, Daphne and Miele are kind of minor characters we don't have any for Tecna and Musa so i can't blame them for remaining their Enchantix form untill they have their own unique names based on their elements someone should definitely make a fanfic with each their own form (i hate when the winx clothes are all the same except for their colour clothes, Sirenix based on under water, Cosmix for space, Butterflix for plants and animals, and Bloomix because Bloom have that tittle and it had dragon flame in them she shared it with others when the other 5 girls lost their powers) Tecna and Musa are the only one left who don't have their own tittle, maybe internix or technix for Tecna and Musix for Musa (someone on YouTube mentioned something about Onyrix for Musa because of emotions and dreams that match with music and as for Tecna, that same person mention something about a tittle name that don't exist called "virtualix" based on her element and the enviroment but we'll see i guess) i think someone who maked this video made it so perfectly and it match with the Enchantix song, maybe it's just me?

I am eager to see Apollo and Daphne by Bernini, Borghese Gallery, Rome, Judith Beheading Holofernes by Gentileschi, Uffizi, Florence, the Fountain of the Four Rivers by Bernini, Piazza Navona, Rome, and the Rape of Persephone by Bernini, Borghese Gallery, Rome. I obviously have many more monuments to list, but there are too many to list on this post. Out of the many monuments that are available to see these four stood out the most, but one of my favorites is Judith Beheading Holofernes. I am not sure if it's the gore or how dramatic the painting is but once I get to Italy and do more research hopefully, I will finally know. My second Favorite would be Apollo and Daphne, Bernini makes a simple piece of stone look real with the way it flows and moves. Also, it's interesting to see how this situation unfolded in stone even if it was because of cupid (Eros) shooting two arrows (one gold and one lead) out of revenge. As for the Fountain of the Four Rivers, it looked beautiful to me, and I think a structure like this does not belong in a city (it does not do it justice). A monument like this needs its own space with nature surrounding it, I feel like only then it would bring out its true beauty.

Since I'm also planning a beauty binder and fashion diary, I wanted to create the concept of a baking journal for all pastry princesses (like me lol)

Setting up Your Journal

Decorate your journal any way you like! My journal's gonna be inspired by every single cookbook I have in my room lol

Section your journal into at least 5 sections (intro, inspo, wishlist, recipes, references)

Be as creative as you want!

Sectioning Your Journal

Intro

The intro page is gonna be your food likes and dislikes, allergies, favorite flavors & scents, the main recipes you wanna make, and why you made this baking journal. The intro should be the very first page

Wishlist

This page will be full of your dream baking items (mixing bowls, utensils, decorating supplies, cake stands, etc.)

My Thoughts On Proud Family Louder & Prouder:  Maya Did The Right Thing (but I wish I could slap that blonde teacher.) And Other Stuff To Talk About...

[Note: Don’t Reblog Without Permission. also small spoilers about Proud Family Louder & Prouder Season 2 Episode 10, but I’m not going to give out too much from the episode....also going to talk about other stuff as well...........also reading this is optional, so you don’t have to if you don’t want to but only read this if you want to.] 

even if I need to try to find the episode where it was talked about some info that isn’t talked about, that I had found in two videos by two different youtubers...

but even if it is two different episodes, and I am going to watch all the episodes, and catch up with some that I haven’t seen yet.

Maya did the right thing in finding the truth in that episode, and while a uncle isn’t really a ancestor, but is more of a sibling of one’s ancestor or ancestress...

I kind of wish I could slap that blonde teacher for her little comment, like it doesn’t make sense for a black or white person to have a ancestor who is of a different race...

I am going to try to find the episode that had that one clip that had those two youtubers explaining how it was leaving out some info in history, maybe I should start from the first episode, and work my way from there.

also I don’t think my wanting to slap that teacher, even if I know it isn’t possible....has anything to do with my Irish or Scottish heritage, I know I have a mix of different ancestors from different places, same as other people on this planet.

and maybe there can be misunderstandings of white racism in the show, and they don’t mean for it to seem that way, plus we can’t just see one half of a whole picture, if we are kept in the dark about some parts of history how are we suppose to learn from it and grow as part of Omnimanity, you know like humans are part of Humanity, but also for non-humans that are from space, and plus humans that would make up Omnimanity....

also if there is a bubble around our universe, it would mean that one of the books I have is right, and our universe is under quarantine, I think it was in that book by Timothy Wyllie, the book is called Confessions Of A Rebel Angel...

or there could be a different reasons for the bubble besides quarantine....

I’m still going to view Watcher Angels and a few other Angels, as Eon-Boomers...and Georgia from that book will count as a Eon-Boomer....since she was part of that rebellion, or should I say Toxic-Rebellion... 

Devil from Cuphead Show, pretty sure he is both a Eon-Boomer and a Himbo.

he seems to have his adorable and clueless moments, and seems to give off that whole himbo thing...

anyway, maybe before we judge the Proud Family: Louder & Prouder for being “Anti-White” and some other stuff that has some humans triggered...

 I still want to at least give that Velma Show a chance before I fully decide if I like it or hate it.....

also I do love Weird Al’s parody songs, and is it weird I don’t mind that a cartoon version of him seems to get on Velma, Daphne and Fred’s nerves...

I mean not everyone has to like his music, but I don’t mind that those three get bothered by it.....he and Jim Henson, are one of the few I’m proud to be distant cousins with, also just because I found that out, doesn’t mean we know each other, so don’t ask me to do any favors.

it’s like when you find out you are family to someone super famous, and some people believe you can have them meet them, when you know that isn’t possible because you haven’t even met them....

also if anyone should pick up on the Dark Crystal Age Of Resistance, maybe it should be Paramount, at least that is my view.....it does suck that they cancelled it on Netflix.

so help me if they do the same with Sonic Prime, they might not know what they have unleashed, because a lot of fans might get SUPER SONIC MAD....

so hopefully there be some sense in those who work at Netflix, to NOT let that happen....

and maybe some people only see the bad side of Maya, and not the good sides, and I believe that she did the right thing by pointing out that Grunkle of her Dad’s, wasn’t a good person and was a slave owner...

 and yeah, her Dad tried to deny the truth, which later on he does finally accept it, even if he didn’t like it.

and it took a squad of cops, and his children and their friends being in danger and being arrested, for him to finally accept that ugly truth.

sometimes there will be dark secrets in history that not every human will want to accept, like how there were white slaves, I saw a video that talked about it...

like if it were true that Jesus had a family with Mary Magdalene, that is a part of history that some humans don’t want to be seen as true, so they try to make it like it is 100% fictional.

and yeah Proud Family series is a Fictional World, and is a cartoon, and might touch on some real life problems and that can happen in any show or movie or video game....

I mean Tali and Ashley from Mass Effect Series, can be a bit of a Shisno. 

they only get more better, when they let go of their shisno ways.

and if it was possible to romance a Geth in the future, that would be great...

can just hold hands and watch some movies.

romance can be different for anyone, it doesn’t always have to be about s*x. 

but try telling that to some Acephobic jerks....

plus you can’t just “fix” someone who is Ace, plus my whole panic attack in the car that time, is separate from my being Aroaceflux, so it is NOT the same...

I just went through the fear during that time a few years ago, which if I remember right, it was around 2015.....and yeah the fear was being alone in the car....and the danger of being harmed, and is one of the reasons why I don’t like being outside alone without family and maybe friends, to trust....

 I haven’t had that panic attack of hyperventilating in the car since that one time.....but anyone can go through that, not just me.

and yeah I did hit my head on the ceiling of the car during that time.

I guess we can do stupid stuff when we either get really mad or scared.

even when it comes to some shows that show what seems to be “Anti-White” but we could turn out not be seeing the full picture, and only see what we assume is that way.

I want to at least try to give Proud Family: Louder & Prouder a chance, and see if some stuff that is pointed out about it, is right or wrong or somewhere in between.

I still wish I could slap that teacher, who I couldn’t help but have the word “Karen” pop into my head when listening to her....I kind of forgot her name...

I mean not all my ancestors were White or from America (some were from different places in the world.), and I have some Ancestors that had a freaking Harem, that is like a lot of Step-Grandmothers, which would be like a lot of Grandmother Day Cards to give out.

King Solomon being one of those who had a Harem, and lucky me I’m from the line from him, that doesn’t get the throne, once again that ain’t a a curse, that is a freaking blessing, so jokes on those who still view it as a curse. XD

 and yes besides talking about the episode from Proud Family: Louder & Prouder, I’m talking about other stuff, too.

also the episode isn’t that bad, it does show some ugly side where some humans don’t want to hear the ugly truth about a person, even their own distant nephew not wanting to accept the ugly truth.

 but things do work out in the end...and I’m not going to give out too much about the episode....

but I’m going to try to watch all the episodes, starting with the first episode and working up to the episode that had been brought up over on Youtube.

and it’s possible that even when we try to fight injustice and fight for a true cause that needs justice, there will be trouble trying to get some words heard and at times it can come out as a misunderstanding, and your words don’t really get through, because it can be misinterpreted. 

 or like if you try to tell someone the truth about someone who lived a long time ago, and it is a really bad and ugly truth, the one you tell it to might not want to accept it.

at least I can accept the truth about the whole Town Destroyer that had to do with George Washington, I think it had to do with his Grandfather....I will need to look it up again....

but yes that it one of ugly truths.

sometimes history isn’t going to be pretty, and there can be many things that we might not know about some history.

I think I want to at least give the new Proud Family series a chance, plus maybe there is a misunderstanding, I don’t know....but maybe things aren’t all as they seem.

I didn’t think I would have to talk about well, some possible problems that some humans point out in a show, I mean there was that whole problem I had with that one video that I found out about that had to do with Jenn Nizza, which I don’t 100% agree with her, only that I can agree that crystals can be misused, but it doesn’t mean using them and other gems are bad, if you use them in the correct way....I’m going to try to stay away from any videos with her in in for a while....like a super long while.

I don’t think that episode was too bad, but when Maya was arguing with that teacher, about her Dad being related to that one guy.....only for the mention that Maya is adopted, did that teacher lady seem to calm down and seem to find it making sense.....seriously, if it were possible, I would slap that woman over the head.

yeah I had a problem with that teacher, who once again I forgot her name...

and I know I took offense to her words, maybe because of my own mix heritage and what she implied.

maybe some will understand what I mean and why I would take offense to that woman’s words.

maybe I will wait until tomorrow to watch Proud Family: Louder & Prouder from the first season and first episode and work my way to the other episodes.

I just want to relax, and maybe play some video games, and try to take my mind off of stuff that has to do with Jenn Nizza, and some people pointing out the possible negative stuff about the new Proud Family series...

sorry if I can’t talk too much about the episode, but I do think it’s great that Maya stood up for what was right and one of her Dads finally accept the truth.

and I guess some will have a problem with certain words being used in it,

like “white privilege” for one, but maybe that word wasn’t really used seriously.

I’m going to check out a few art on here, then I’m going to go back on my Xbox One, and the next post I make is going to be a theory about either one of my favorite video games or shows.....I just want to try to relax....maybe I can talk more about the Proud Family, once I watch all the episodes.

The new Velma series is ok, but it’s not really about the mystery gang. Plenty of talented and creative people worked on it. The jokes often land. There’s some really pleasant animation. I feel as though it was written by someone who has been on ao3. These people were put together to create a show, and they did a good job, but it’s obvious that none of them had any interest in actually making a Velma origin story. Velma’s the teen detective. Fred is a rich asshole. Velma is the popular girl. Shaggy’s the love interest(And his name is Norville for some reason?). They straight up do not resemble to mystery gang even superficially. I think the creators just wanted to play around with these tropes, but they were handed this weird pitch and they decided to roll with it.

That is to say that this show exists in a weird space. It’s basically an adult cartoon sitcom in the same vein as The Simpsons or Rick and Morty, but(for some reason) contextualized by the cultural legacy of Scooby Doo. And there are several writing decisions that I think are interesting. It is set up that Norville has a crush on Velma. Velma is unaware of this. Velma and Daphne, having been friends in the past, are forced to work together again due to circumstancestm, and both develop a crush on eachother. While this is happening Norville basically says out loud to the camera “I’m gonna get velma to like me by performing unhealthy tropes from romcoms” and has his own little b-plot that does not pan out for him. and idk. Isn’t that interesting? unhealthy manipulation in rhetorically healthy relationships from pop culture are weird. I know that and you probably know that. Niche little video essayists on youtube say it all the time, but here’s this show. The pop-culture itself is saying it now.

And that’s kind of the vibe of this whole show so far. It’s difficult to create a coherent reading, partly because there are only two episodes out right now, but largely because it’s all over the place. I want to create a reading of Norville as this balanced deconstruction of male love interests—and I think there is one there — but everytime someone says his name all I can think is “why is Shaggy called Norville?” And why is the popular girl archetype and her rich asshole boyfriend dressed up like Daphne and Fred from cultural monolith “Scooby Doo”? I didn’t even mention that Velma was already a mystery solver at the beginning of the show. The first episode itself contains another backstory where an even younger velma cultivates a love for solving mysteries. How the hell do I read this? Is it self-aware? I thought it was funny, but I can’t tell if I’m laughing because it was a sincerely good joke or if I’m laughing because at idea of a show pitched as a backstory creating its own fully motivated main character who needed backstory, or if I’m laughing because the creators understood the absurdity of that scenario and wrote it like that on purpose.

So yeah. It would have been easy to write this show off, but for some reason I chose the hard way and now I’m invested. Watch it or don’t.

Im a white girl and im just learning here so forgive me if im slow on this. But i don't understand why druck is put on a pedestal with regards to how they've tackled race/developed their characters of color. Druck also tends to dismiss race entirely (Sam, David, Fatou and Abdi) or make the trauma of characher their whole character (Ava and David) or underdevelop characters when they've had space to do more (Amira, Sam & fam). So why is druck deemed better than other remakes in this area?

hi, Anon! thanks for your ask. okay, so for me to answer your questions, you have to accept two premises:

neither skam nor any of its remakes (including druck) are perfect.

when a remake acknowledges audience pain and admits that it has made mistakes, hires writers of color, and then greatly improves upon its mistakes, that has to be commended.

so, let's break down race and representation for the remakes. and as you will see below, the remakes are so egregiously bad when it comes to race and representation, that when you compare druck after jünglinge took over, it's on a separate level altogether and that's why i believe druck is deemed to be better when it comes to race and representation. (also, i'm skipping skam nl and skam austin from this analysis because who knows how those two would have ended up...and begoña owes me a heart to heart after she ruined by beloved skam españa, but let's be real, eskam had a long way to go too.)

druck -

well, from the list in your ask and from the hard work that skamofcolor put in, druck is a remake with one of the most racially diverse main cast members in both the old and new gens as well as the most characters of colors in side characters as well, so that's an improvement compared to the other remakes. but you're right, there were a lot of missed storylines they could have tackled with the old gen.

druck's sana season (amira mahmood) does not put their sana through weeks of torture or ruin the girl squad in the process. (and as a muslim, i will say their handling of islam was the best among the remakes but i digress...) however, amira did not get her full 10 weeks of screen time and the show missed a huge opportunity diving into shared microaggressions and racism that sam, abdi, etc. also faced. and druck was ripped for it! for cutting amira's time and playing it way too safe and not giving sam her fair due, among others.

now, here's where druck does something that no other remake has done and honestly, this is where i think most of the praise stems from. they listened to the criticism! wait, showrunners and writers can do that?! do you mean we are not just yelling into the avoid? not only have the writers said the ways in which they could have improved (even after s6 they discussed audience perceptions and overestimating how ava/mailin would be received, etc.) but they also hired JÜNGLINGE to bring the new gen to life. if you are unfamiliar, this is how they describe themselves:

JÜNGLINGE is a film collective of mid-twenties raised in the hybrid cultures of post-migrant Germany. We believe that young, European film needs to tell queer, diverse and most of all – specific – stories about growing up and living together in our societies.

so looking at that progress over time from druck s1 to druck s6, i can't help but give them them props for such a marked improvement. in fact, i don't think ANY single skam season covers race and ethnicity as well as s5 and s6 did. sure, they were not perfect (see point 1 above), but my god, the strides that these two seasons made. so much so that in s6, we had a non-white interracial couple as main, who were both unapologetic about their ethnicities and upbringing and culture (Gambia and Vietnam). and having fatou/ava's friendship be so prominent, listening to them talk about black hair, and referencing nazis in germany - yes to all of this!

and let's talk about ava! what an amazing character who was allowed to be angry, giggly, happy, sad, and express herself, without falling into tropes like imane from skam france, and so many people can relate to her struggles with white liberal mailin. there was a sensitivity there that's so rare in these remakes. and what druck couldn't do with amira/kiki, they were given room to explore here, and i really do feel that it was an important story to tell, especially in the age of whitesplaining, white feminist tears, and white liberals talking over women of color.

skam france -

eight seasons in and skam france is STILL mistreating its characters of colors and not given them their full due. now with bilal literally taking a back seat to jo (look at the YouTube header for crying out loud!) but ever since yann in s1, skam france has done such a horrible job with its depiction of POC, especially black characters. daphne is one of the most racist vildes and the treatment of imane (even beyond her season) has been vile and unfair.

and you would think that post s6 and after a new showrunner and writing team was hired on, that there would be improvements (similar to what druck did above), but no! look at how both aurélien and judith were treated in s7, and after a strong opening for s8, it looks like bilal is now taking a backseat to jo, and once again, skam france and its new team are prioritizing a white character over a character of color.

and has there been any acknowledgment by the skam france team of the criticism over the years? rather, david has often doubled down in the face of fan critiques - just an unwillingness to listen, and so we are left with this as a result.

skam italia -

say what you want about skam italia but when it comes to race?well, they certainly take the cake for the whitest remake, so much so that swaths of fans will refuse to watch this remake for the "wana" debacle, and rightfully so. (whitewashing of the sana casting) and remember how people tried to defend this casting decision? but don't forget that italy has a higher percentage of muslims living in the country than norway does! give me a break.

and how can i forget how hajar brown was dragged after she, as a woman of color, deemed to shade and criticize casting decisions for this remake?

do i even need to get into wtfock and its representation on race?! i mean s4 and s5 are arguably the two worst seasons of any skam remakes period. and the complete lack of acknowledgment from the showrunners after the torrent of criticism they received. the egregiously racist writing. i am a defense attorney by profession, and even i am struggling. there's seriously no defense for them here...

so given all this above, i hope this explains why i value the steps druck has taken, especially in s5 and s6, to tackle and improve their depiction of race and representation.
