the way that all these photos were taken was because Travis asked him if he would model for some photography thing he was doing, Dante did not disappoint. Travis then sent these images to Vlyad while he was at a family dinner bc he is (as the poetic word of Gummie) a dickhead. Vylad picks up his phone to check his messages thinking its important but nope. its professional-quality pictures of his bf breakdancing. Vlyad who's mid joke, looks at his phone and just. stops. and his face goes red. he has forgotten his train of thought

and to make matters worse, Zane (the nosey fuck that he is) cranes his neck to look at Vlyad's phone, only to see sweaty pictures of Dante doing different difficult poses. and he just.. squints his eyes (He is judging vlyad so hard LMAO)

He muttered a word of thanks, not taking his eyes off the pan as he tilted it up off the stove and continually basted the food inside with the sauce and juices that had collected during the cooking process. Through the Years - Dante "V" Alkan

2049 to 2067 (Birth - 18 years old): BROKEN SCION

Born in Bulgaria in a respectable clan of assassins to no one but the leader herself, Dante received the best possible education to become not just the weapon his Gods wished for, but also the heir his mother desired. He doesn't remember the first time he's spilled blood for the cult, he was too young - but make no mistake: it wasn't the craft that drove him away, but the high expectations both earthly and divine that had VV0LF, now simply "V", to flee and seek anonymity in the chaos of Night City in the NUSA, where he has to resort to petty thievery to survive out in the streets.

2068 to 2077 (19 - 28 years old): CORPO RAT

When you're raised to be a killer, you can find your bunch with the corporates, specially if you're a wanted deserter... and Dante proved smart enough to do it. Managing to catch the attention of a corporate family in Charter Hill, they took him into indentured service in exchange for shelter. Arthur Jenkins eventually happened to meet this oddly competent young man, and brought him over to Arasaka Counterintel, where Dante's aggressive methods of protecting the companies interests granted him a comfortable but draining life. With Abernathy overturning Jenkins, he also loses all of that and goes back to square one - though now he has the help of Jackie Welles.

2078 (29 years old): WALKING TALKING CORPSE

One gig to the major leagues, or so they thought. A heist against Arasaka had all of Dante's instincts on alert, and they eventually proved correct. The failed gig brings him to a much worse state of being he could ever be, but also unknowingly opens the doors to paradise again. While trying to not die (again) to the biochip, he manages to find his old self back, surprisingly befriends his own tapeworm, and meets what would be his reason to keep going the following years. He loses and gains a lot, including a portion of his own soul, but as the proverb goes: The darkest hour of the night comes just before the dawn.

2078 - Forward: MALEWIFE ERA DUST CRAWLER

The Aldecaldos bring back everything Dante has missed from home: family, union, loyalty and a meaning to life - minus the blood and cult, thankfully. After raiding Arakasa's Mikoshi in order to save his life, they leave Night City to settle in Tucson, Arizona, where Dante's main purpose in life becomes enjoying the present beside Panam Palmer, who saved him as much he had saved her. There's trauma, loss and guilt haunting him every day, but he pushes through knowing he couldn't be any better than he is now. Panam and Dante eventually marry in 2083 on a very loud nomad ceremony, and have their first and only daughter, Driss, in 2088.

THIS. their interest in her and how they responded to it each was interesting. Like they did each actually have a complex relationship with her and, save for the jealousy angle they threw on the s1 finale, those relationships weren't really sacrificed for one another. Like Aphmau was still allowed to be close with both of them, while also having her agency and choices respected to where she wasn't forced to be with either of them. But then their interest in her was what ultimately caused their characters to be trashed. cough cough because they werent aaron so jess needed to vilify them as an excuse to get them out of the picture. cough cough.

I'll maybe be the first to admit that I'm not the biggest fan of dante's relationship with KC. (Not that its unhealthy or done toooo badly, just seems weirdly out of left field/ooc and felt like it was mainly done for the drama of dmitri later. which if im remembering correctly, was basically exactly what it was according to Jess lmao.) but even with that, at least Dante's character didn't get trashed to the degree that Garroth and Laurance's did goddamn.

I have so many asks and stuff to work through because I was smart and decided to take the day off for socialising and binging the society (may or may not be debating writing S2 for it since I’m sad at it being cancelled)

So this is the first step to working through them.

HCs at the request of @ominousomni. Most will be mixes of MCD and MS headcanons since they didn’t specify.

Dante

MCD/MS: mentioned this in my Gene post, he has a huge scar on his forearm from falling out of a tree as a kid. However, he likes to create fake stories about how he got it instead of admitting what actually happened, just because it’s a bit of fun.

MS: he had a huge crush on Nana in high school, but only began dating her in college. Which is when he, y’know… put a bun in the oven, so to speak. They broke up shortly after that because they both had different ideas on what to do about the pregnancy. They are still friends, though, and often go out for food together to catch up.

MCD: slightly inherited the magicks that I gave to his mother (in a moment of boredom and vibes) however it takes a lot more to do a lot less than she can do. This doesn’t apply to his MS self, because by then the magicks genes in his family sort of died out.

MS: He’s openly Bi, unlike his MCD self who is closeted for sake of safety, and often flirts with his male friends, jokingly, the same way he flirts with Aphmau. He’s not into them, he just likes stirring a reaction out of people.

MCD: he was slightly hurt when NT picked up the fighting style of someone else (*coughaaroncough*) and not himself, but he understood and helped her develop her own twist on it. Because he’s a good dad.

MS: He was freaked out about Dmitri. (Because as you can probably tell, I’m adding in the kids to my rewrite.) he was mostly annoyed that Nicole never told him, but he was sort of stressed about the impact that Dmitri must’ve had on her life.

MCD: Him and Travis didn’t get along well at first, due to Dante’s malewife tendencies and Travis being really weird around women. But once Travis explained his whole ‘never really speaking to women’ thing before, Dante started teaching him what is and isn’t acceptable, and they became pretty good friends.

MS: He was the first to know (after Terry) that Travis was Trans. He helped him out with a lot of the social aspects of it, like picking out a name and figuring out what he’s comfortable with.

I don’t have many more that I can think of off of the top of my head, but when I find my lists of HCs, I’ll do another post for him.

Jenny

She’s not obsessive, unlike her canon version. She’s a girl with a crush, but that’s about as far as it goes. She gets paranoid that the girls that Aaron speaks to will get the chance to ask him out before she does, but that’s it.

She accidentally cuts Aaron off a lot, and doesn’t realise until someone else brings it up. She always apologises when she knows and tries to be super sweet about it.

She caught a glimpse of Aaron’s scars one time, and she got really worried. He insisted she was fine, but she shared her concerns with the girls anyways. Cathy shrugged it off and said he was probably doing it for attention, which was when Jenny lost a bit of respect for her.

She falls into the stereotype of liking true crime. She tends to stay up late watching it with Betty, and Cathy thinks the they’re crazy watching things like that.

Huge horror movie fan, something she has in common with Aaron. She fancies herself a bit of goreporn every now and again also, but she prefers to stick to traditional horror more often.

Huge adrenaline junky.

She has the magicks Gene but no magicks. Her younger sister has magicks and she’s a bit jealous, but she’s more supportive than anything.

Almost always wins Cards Against Humanity because her sense of humour is top tier. Only ever loses to Ken and Aaron, which is pretty rare.

Actually likes seeing Aphmau and Aaron hang out, even if it makes her a little insecure, because she likes to see what Aaron is like when he’s comfortable with someone. It gives her something to look forward to.

She didn’t take the breakup easy, but she respected him and asked if they could still be friends.

Have I completely rewritten her entire character? Maybe. Is she better than Canon Jenny? I do believe so, yes.

I haven’t watch PDD, I’m so sorry, but when I get around to watching it, I’ll make sure to do a HC post for her

Enki (Travis’ mother)

MCD: She comes from a family of Priestesses for Enki, but she was the first one to be born with Magicks. And because of that, she got Exiled to the forests to fend for herself, and she did pretty well.

MS: her family was super religious, and she was the first to be born with magicks, but they were really supportive and got her tutors to help her control it.

MCD: she first found out about Micheal her first day in exile. She knew of him before but thought he was a cautionary tale to keep kids from heading into the forest. He spooked her and then she spent a few months just running from him before she learned how to defend herself.

MS: She always knew about Micheal. Just a vibe. She knew about him when she first met Terry and always gets anxious when the Micheal vibe swings around. And then, y’know, she ignored the vibe one time when Travis was like 7 and she ended up dead. So. 👍

MCD: She taught Travis magicks to protect himself. She told him to never use them unless he needed to, and only taught him a few basic things.

MS: she wanted Travis completely separated from Magicks. She didn’t want him to have anything to do with it, and even used magicks to suppress his abilities for as long as she could. She didn’t want him to get caught up in the whole Micheal thing.

MCD: she got a crush on one of the gatherers from the village, and eventually snuck near the village to speak with him. He got a crush on her also and eventually they began sneaking off to see eachother more often. And then eventually they went to her cabin together, where Micheal possessed him for shits and gigs, and then Travis was born. That gatherer was Terry. Eventually she cut contact with him ‘for his sake’.

MS: She met Terry at school, and like… she was drawn to him by the Micheal vibe, and stayed for his brilliant personality.

The Divine Warriors

They deserve their own post. Or posts. There’s so much to say about them but I also am tempted to keep things about them hush hush and secretive to be revealed in the rewrite. So…. I’ll see where things lead me.

Terry (MS)

Will do an MCD HC post about him, if that’s wanted, but since Terry is an MS exclusive I’ll only do MS HCs for now.

What isn’t there to say about Terry? He’s a single father that’s possessed by a demon from time to time, is sort of Pervy but also pretty sweet and is definitely one major source of Travis’s personality, and that’s all canon stuff.

He never knew he was possessed by Micheal until Enki died. He just thought he’d randomly black out from time to time. But once he found out about Micheal he began staying conscious for longer during the possessions. Not that he appreciated knowing what Micheal was doing.

He’s super supportive of Travis and everything he does. If it makes travis happy, it makes terry happy.

Huge pushover, but Travis was a good kid so he never really needed to be firm anyways.

He is kinda average looking. Like slightly more attractive, but nothing too impressive. Whereas his dead wife was like a 10/10, hot as balls. No one really knew how he scored her… maybe it’s because he’s funny.

Huge animal lover. Especially goats.

He doesn’t really have friends. Micheal had friends and he just sort of hung out with them.

Huge romantic, loves romcoms. They are second on his list of favourite genres, goreporn being first.

Likes to collect cool old stuff. He brags about his collections. That was actually how he got his hands on Aaron’s sword.

Used to help out a bit on his dads farm. Since his family was poor and all. But then he moved to Ru’aun with Enki when travis was born and they lived there for a while. He moved back to Gal’ruk after Enki’s death and only returned when Travis was 13 because he wanted Travis to have a good education.

Travlyn

I’ve noticed a bunch of these are Travis based, as are a lot of my asks recently, and I’m not complaining. I love my little Trashvis.

Romantic. Though it took a while and was mutual. No unconsensual touching or anything. Because that was weird. And no violence, only accidents.

There’s like a whole complicated thing between them in MCD. Because they’re both into eachother, and he shows it (up until season 3-ish time but I can explain that later) but she kind of keeps it to herself. She ends up taking care of him emotionally for a while because, well, Aphmau needs him and he’s a wreck. But he’s super bitter about everything and has a bunch of self-pity. She calls him out on a few things, he gets grumpy, admits he likes her, she tells him he can’t just say that to her, and then they fall out. But she still has to look after him. And then something happens that sort of urges them to make up, and eventually they end up as a sort of couple but not quite. They’re dating even if they won’t admit it to anything. And they do a little bit more than just date too, if you catch my drift.

Mystreet is a bit different. They first ever meet when Travis is pre-transition, and she like tutors him for a while. And then he transitions and cancels the tutoring sessions. So he sort of knows her by the time PDH timeline starts, but not that well. He eventually sort of makes friends with her through Aphmau, and she picks on him a bit for being scared of everything and everyone. And they slowly become closer as time goes on, and he starts to become interested in her in a slightly more than friendly way. And then college comes around. He’s gonna be in the FCU season because… Travis in college? Missed opportunity. He gets a bit jealous of Luka and tries to get between her and Katelyn a lot, though he doesn’t really know why. And then eventually him and Katelyn become friends again, and he realises he likes her. That’s a bit awkward. Katelyn thinks he’s attractive, sure, but she’s got a girlfriend, she’s not interested. And then the time between FCU and S1 of my rewrite happens. They become friends, she breaks up with Luka, he falls inlove with her, and by the time the main plot picks up, he’s head over heels for her. Like he does everything she wants him to do and is so kind to her. Everyone picks up on him having a crush on her (including her) but she shrugs it off and continues to manipulate that for a bit. And then she realises she likes him back and goes through a stage of ‘oh fuck why him’ and then she admits it, they stay friends for a while, and then they date… he still does everything for her, but now he gets rewarded for the stuff he does with kisses and hugs.

Travis nuzzles her neck a lot.

She likes to paint his horns with nail polish. He lets her.

She is one of the first to notice his eyes were grey when he was a kid, but green as an adult.

Katelyn makes him put on religious amounts of sun cream because she refuses to listen to him going ‘ow I hurt everywhere’ all day.

He cooks for her, she bakes for him, seems fair.

He may be taller than her, and to a degree stronger than her (he’s a demon, let’s not kid ourselves (haha goat pun)), but she wears the trousers in the relationship.

And the strap.

He sings very well, and gets praised for it often (shower singer, he lives with people, naturally they overhear). So she humbles him with critiques, that he actually appreciates a lot.

She tried to paint his hooves (demon form) and he kicked her in the nose. It was an accident, of course, but she needed to go to the hospital. Thank god Ru’aun has free healthcare (brit-ifying it) or else she might’ve learnt her lesson and not tried again. She did try again. She got kicked in the stomach instead and she was winded and bruised like fuck. Travis felt so bad, but it’s not his fault he has leg kicky habits (MS but certain parts can apply to MCD)

They also had a cute platonic relationship so I might talk about that another time.

Welp get some popcorn and sit down. This is going to be long.

In a village called Boboros, there lived three siblings. The eldest was a son named Gene, he had eyes of cold blue, skin lightly tanned from the days in the sun, and hair like black coal. The middle child was the only girl named Annalisa. She wasn’t like her siblings in looks for she wasn’t fully their sister. She had golden hair, eyes that rivaled the sky’s blue, but she had the same completion, and always carried a small silver locket that had a photo of her family in. And lastly, the youngest son was named Dante. He had eyes like the deep ocean, skin like the others, and hair of royal blue.

The day that Annalisa was brought into the household she was only just a baby of 2 months. Gene didn’t see the want of having a tiny little sibling after all it couldn’t do anything. But as two years passed he grew to tolerate the small child and wish to protect her. And not long another child came joined the family; that child was Dante. Gene learning from his past grew to love them both (kind of). As they grew the eldest two developed gifts, Gene developed a gift of being able to alter anyone meanwhile Annalisa developed the gift of light magic. Even though, Dante didn’t have a gift like his siblings he still looked up to them.

During their years together, Gene developed his gift and became the head guard because of it. Anna also developed her gift but only found it useful to create small things like blankets during the winter or a nightlight for the nights Dante feared what was in the dark. The younger children looked up to Gene as he was the eldest and wished to be like him but only threw ways of their strengths. Gene like any normal person, he fell in love but that person was the Lord’s daughter, Octavia, but she didn’t love him. However, that didn’t stop Gene for he had a plan to break into her room at night and alter her memories so that she loved him. There were only 2 things problems with his plan and that is what both of his siblings knew. A week before Gene was going to act out his plan, Anna asked to go speak with him over by a garden that overlooked a small cliff that was blocked off with an old vine-covered railing while Dante was off playing with some friends.

We are here. Well what did you want to talk about that was so important that I had to be on break,” Gene demanded as he didn’t want to be there.

“Please don’t get angry but I know about your plan,” Anna spoke but in a hushed voice as she knew Gene had a small (understatement) temper.

“What plan?” Gene was confused for he had one plan and no one should have known.

“The plan to go to Lady Octavia’s house at night… and… I really believe that you should rethink that decision!” Anna first continued with her soft tone but then slightly raised her voice.

“Keep you voice down!” Gene harshly whispered and now gripped Anna’s arm with force.

“I’m sorry, please let go you are slightly hurting my arm,” She yelped as she slowly backed up to the railing to hopefully get out of his grip but that proved ineffective.

 “There is no plan of doing that and you will not speak of this again,” Gene’s eyes started to glow an emerald green as his grip only got tighter.

“I…” Anna’s eyes changed from their light sky color to the same emerald green until… “No. This isn’t right,” Her eyes shifted back to their unnatural normal color. “Gene you need to stop,”

“No… This should have worked. Why didn’t that work!” Panic only filled Gene’s mind for this was the first time his power didn’t work.

“I promise that I won’t tell anyone and… and we can pretend that this never happened. If you don’t do it and let me go,” She knew that she couldn’t get out of this situation without getting hurt in some way as she was now entirely against the old railing. “Please… there is another way,” Gene didn’t hear her as he was only lost in his thoughts ‘how didn’t it work’ ‘It always worked why now!’ ‘Something isn’t right with her’ ‘She will go back on her word’ ‘She needs to be silenced’ ‘If she is gone no one will find out.

“There isn’t any other way…” He spoke in a hushed voice, no longer looking at her but what was underneath the railing. ‘Push her’ the voices told him and they only got louder by the second.

“Gene. Wait, please! We can- “Anna was cut off as Gene acted by pushing her off the railing that was once was the only this that was stopping her from falling off. 1. What made you pick up this character?

Oh boiiiiii I’LL TRY TO MAKE THESE SHORT BC- now I have 7 swords in this blog 😳👉👈 (not counting tsuru who’s on his own blog) but if it ends up getting hella long then let’s just say that I think they are all cool and neat ✨

KASEN KANESADA: I’ll be honest here and say that initially, I picked him bc of his rather funny personality ARIOTUEORIT; If I had to describe his personality, (or at least how I perceive him); I would probably use the word ‘peacock-like’ behavior. Kasen is that kind of person that goes around self proclaiming himself to be this really cultured person and blabbering about elegance which aside from being funny, I find that its quite an interesting contrast when one takes in consideration his backstory; bc on one hand, you have the origin of his name that comes from the 36 Immortals of Poetry, (that were a group of 36 japanese poets selected as examples of the best of poets) yet on the other hand, ironically, Kasen’s former master also happened to kill 36 of his vassals; so the game alongside stage plays and the anime tend to play with this contrast between this elegance attributed from the meaning behind his name and this violent streak that he inherited from his previous master that we only really get to see him display on the battlefield . In a way these two traits kind of seem like oil and water, but somehow they happen very naturally to Kasen.

Aside this, he’s kind of a tsundere and implied to be kind of a ‘know-nothing know-it all’ kind of person which I love to see on characters tbh 

SHOKUDAIKIRI MITSUTADA: Visually speaking, it was kind of love at first sight when I saw him for the first time 😳😳😳 HE REALLY HIT ALL THE NAILS LIKE; all black clothes + hair covering one eye + eyepatch, + the black & golden color palette ??? His design really appeals a lot to me bc its stuff I think looks really cool on characters (you can notice this in some charas I wrote in the past like; robin, izou, dantes, ahem-) that aside; when it comes to his personality, I was pretty suprised when I first read about him bc in contrast to his cool looks, his personality is kind of like a puppy- he’s friendly and really nice! he may look kind of intimidating at first glance but in reality, it’s all part of his dream to look ‘cool’; he’s always very concerned about looking ‘cool’ (kind of like Charlemagne in fate!), perhaps as a means to hide the fact that his name comes from a time where he happened to cut through a bronze candlestick holder, which he thinks is not a really cool explanation;;

“ I'm Shokudaikiri Mitsutada. I'm a katana that was once used by Lord Date Masamune. I don't harbor any bad feelings towards Lord Masamune, but my name comes from a time when I killed someone and happened to cut a candlestick that was nearby at the same time... Although it really was a bronze candlestick holder, it would've been cooler if it had been something a bit more durable. “

That aside, the fact that he was a sword that belonged to Date Masamune is pretty interesting on its own, so when I found about this I knew that I had to read about him 😳 not to mention that besides usually liking bastards, I have a soft spot for genuinely friendly and kind characters, to which he certainly fits that category (besides being kind of a malewife)

HESHIKIRI HASEBE: THIS GUY- I explained more in depth on a previous ask about the reasons as of why I picked him, so i’ll just try to summarize it. Basically, I used to be kind of indifferent about him for the longest time until he began appearing more and more on my pinterest dash, and i kind of fell for his funny personality and how cool artist made him look! so naturally I had to read about him;;; I picked Heshi bc to me, his personality, story and the way his character was interpreted in the game are very interesting to me. Although when I picked him I didn’t see the anime, once I did, I was able to take a closer look at his personality and the reasoning behind his actions and it all sort of helped solidify my apreciation for him. I find that putting the memes aside, he’s a pretty complex character that once you get to understand; his actions and thoughts sort of click bc it all ties back to his past in a way that you can understand why it affects him the way it does in the present. I won’t blabber much about him bc otherwise this will get much longer than intended but the conclusion to all of this is that i love him yes-

ISHIKIRIMARU: I LOVE HIM- THAT’S IT- His character makes me feel all at peace bc of how naturally gentle he is and how kind his voice sounds !!😭😭😭 His story is also pretty interesting bc!! compared to the other swords that have ‘actual’ stories tied to them, on his case, there are no specific accounts of a particular sword named ‘Ishikirimaru’ ,in the sense that his character seems to be influenced by -various- accounts. As far as I remember, the majority of these swords he seems to have been based on have this common trait of being sort of sacred swords; The most obvious influence seems to be the case of this one sword that had a reputation for being used to heal swellings and tumours, tho there’s also another case of a sword that could cut through stone as well, and so on. Besides his looks and story, what got me to want to attempt to write him was to try to explore this sort of conflict he has about now being used not to heal, but to be used on the battlefield; to injure, to kill; which are things that are veryyyy different to what he’s used to doing; which was to stay at a shrine and help heal people. Swords that were like Ishikirimaru were usually kept at shrines and not actually meant to be used on the battlefield so now that he’s been materialized on this second life, he has to come to terms with this new task that pretty much is the contrary to what he was made for, and i dunno! I always find interesting when characters have these inner conflicts

MIKAZUKI MUNECHIKA: LE JIJI !! he was alongside Kashuu one of the first characters that drew my attention when I found out about touken ranbu; he’s kind of like the face of the game, kind of like how artoria is the face of f.ate g.rand o.rder in a way. Mikazuki fits the kind of characters I tend to like which are old spirits (example; casgil, zhongli, many fate servants, basically spiritually peepaws) tho mikazuki’s personality isn’t grumpy or tired; he’s more nonchalant and calm, a lil sneaky as well! I really like this old-man-like attitude he has and how despite being part of the Tenka Goken (a group of swords famous for their history and beauty), he’s very relaxed?? he doesn’t really go around flashing how cool he is; he just sits on a corner and drinks his tea with his lil old man laugh- One thing I find interesting about Mikazuki which also brought me to pick him (which is a thing Tsurumaru also shares) is just how truly old the sword actually is- like, historically speaking, Mikazuki comes from the Heain period which is suuuper old, and this of course carries a lot of history with it, which is reflected on his character and the way he acts, and I don’t mean just his old man kind of personality, I mean it in the way that it’s commonly thought that the reason why Mikazuki is rarely surprised or carries such a calm disposition comes in great part bc of his long history of existence, which of course carries with itself a lot of experience. Another thing I like about him is how due to his long history of existence, he kinds of becomes the sword that others come to in order to ask advice to, i like these kind of characters that are able to offer comfort and guidance in their own mysterious ways, they always know what to say and when to say the things other’s need to hear the most. So yeah! Aside his obviously wonderful design (which is fitting considering his position as part of the Tenka Goken) I love how much history can be traced and incorporated on his character as now a sentient individual.

NAGASONE KOTETSU: He fits the chill giant that looks kinda scary at first glance but is actually pretty kind and considerate trope and I love him for that OIUTROIUTYR but!! he’s not just that!! Nagasone has a story that is super interesting as well and that I think the game was able to translate into his character in a very neat way- Basically Nagasone’s source of conflict to say (or well, on his case, he manages to find even more strenght in his nature) is that he’s a counterfeit— and he’s very much well aware of this, yet this does little to stop him from always wanting to give his very best and to prove to himself that despite his nature, he can be just as good as the real thing, which hits when u take in consideration that he has to somewhat daily cope with Hachisuka’s distaste towards him for being a Kotetsu counterfeit. I always had a soft spot for characters that despite their nature still fight to be the best version of themselves they can be, and Nagasone is a really neat example of this.

Another thing that I found super interesting about him is how despite being the sword of Kondo Isami (the leader of the Shinsengumi) he’s able to keep a very objective view, and is able to keep his head cool in the sense that although he values Kondo a lot, he’s able to put his bias to the side and seems to not strictly adhere to the rules of the shinsengumi as how some other swords would when it comes to their respective previous masters and backgrounds. I read that in the musical when he ordered to retreat from a battle, upon being questioned about this decision, he said that the rules didn’t save the shinsengumi from their downfall ;; and this is something that really caught my attention because its common to see in touken ranbu characters, the swords being deeply tied to their past owners and background; example Yasusada with Okita Souji and so on. Also despite his rather chill attitude, he’s pretty mature (putting aside his bickering with Mutsunokami OIRUYRIOUY) I read that in one recollection he talks about this common thing swords experience which is facing their previous master in the past and having this need to want to save them from their ends and change the past (when the swords deep down know they shouldn’t); to which he views this whole matter as the kind of things more immature swords would lean to, and I found this interesting bc unlike swords like Heshikiri who feel bitter about their previous masters, Nagasone actually cherished Kondo, so for him to be able to understand quickly that this is not a choice they can decide on reflects his maturity when it comes down to serious matters. IN GENERAL I THINK HE’S REALLY COOL OKOK ✊😌

OOKURIKARA: FINALLY, THE LAST- Ookurikara fits the kind of characters i´ve always liked which are basically;; the rancid type; Ookurikara does not want to get along with anyone nor wants anyone to reach to him, and he is pretty dang direct about this as most of his dialogue lines make reference to how he does not seek to make friends or get along with anyone,,, not even with the master! he’s a solitary individual and the kind that doesn’t seem to find this as a suffering; from a quick glance one may think this solitary and very highly independent behavior seems kind of random, that is until you take in consideration that Ookurikara is a mumeitou, which means he’s a sword that lacks its sword smith’s signature. The signature on a blade is a symbol of the swordsmith’s pride on his work, usually swords become a mumeitou when they get shortened since the grip part where the signature usually would be is the part that gets cut, which is likely what happened with Ookurikara’s case; now fandom seems to interpret that all of this translates into his behavior in the fact that by not having his swordsmith’s signature on him, it basically means he’s free real state tm, which means that he’s free to do as he wishes bc if he doesn´t belong to anyone, then why should he follow orders? I like this explanation bc it makes a lot of sense when u think about it; and of course just like all swords, if you send him to kiwame he eventually undergoes through his own character development from which he comes to realize the importance of companionship and of allowing others to help him. What i like about him and one of the reasons as of why i picked him as a muse is because besides the rancidness and his ties to Fudo Myo-O, there is a lot of room for character growth through interactions; he’s the kind of character that does need an external force in order to come to terms with many things bc he is rather stubborn himself and tends to stay inside his own shell
