I know DPxDC is the big crossover in the Phandom, but consider this:
Pepper Potts, Natasha Romanoff and Jazz Fenton being friends, terrorizing the Avengers and S.H.I.E.L.D by how efficient and scarily badass they both are.
Tony grabbed Rhodey and they both darted to the side.
“Tony! What the— oh.” Rhodey clamped his mouth shut as the three women walked down the hallway, red hair swishing behind them and heels clicking like the sound of walking death.
Only one of them noticed Tony and Rhodey, the tallest of them, who blinked at the sight of them pressed against the wall and quivering like mice before she gave a small smile and a wave. Then she turned back around to engage in the conversation with the CEO of Stark Industries and the Black Widow like it was nothing.
The moment the three Reapers of Death passed, everyone took a sigh of relief.
Clint dropped down from the ceiling and shuddered. “Dammit, Tony! Why’d you have to hire Jazz?! She’s been cozying up to Nat and I’m starting to feel like a lamb in a dinosaur’s cage at Jurassic Park!”
“It’s not my fault that Pepper hired her to be my PA!” Tony complained. “If you want to make a complaint, be my guest!”
“No thanks, I like not being neutered,” Clint said, hugging himself.
Everyone winced.
Steve poked his head around the corner worriedly. “Are they gone? What was Natasha discussing about with Pepper and Jazz?”
JARVIS was the one answered, “Miss Potts is currently trying to figure out a way to successfully form a contract with a company from the UK. Miss Romanoff and Miss Fenton are there to help her with a plan. There seems to be discussions of espionage and blackmail, but no assassinations yet.”
They all shuddered again.
Those women were too scary.
“Thank god there’s no deaths yet. I’m too scared to fight against them if they decided to hire a hitman. Or worse. Natasha.”
That was when Danny ran into the room, Peter right behind him as they looked at the Avengers desperately.
The two boys looked frantic, supposedly coming right from the labs since they were covered in soot and their lab uniforms. “You guys! I think Pepper and Jazz are going to hire Natasha to kill someone! You have to stop them!”
The Avengers all looked at each other.
Then in unison, they pointed at their noses and shouted, “Not it!!”

Let’s talk about Danny’s trauma over Dan and why it’s ignored in Dan redemption stories
I love a good redemption for a villain/asshole character (Zuko, Hunter, Steve) and I’m impartial to Dan being redeemed… but let’s sit for a moment and talk about how Dan being redeemed completely ignores and invalidates Danny’s trauma.
For starters, let’s get one thing clear: Dan was Danny’s worst enemy aside from Pariah Dark. I’m not counting Undergrowth, Nocturne or Vortex because at that point Danny could go toe-to-toe with them power-wise (and s3 writing quality, but that’s not the point) He was everything Danny feared of becoming, the monster he was always afraid he could become and that his parents were right all along about ghosts, that he was like Vlad. He tried to kill Danny’s family, Sam, Tucker and Lancer to ensure Danny would become him, and it’s implied he would have left him floating around in the future Ghost Zone for who knows how long and still tied up and possibly even get killed again by the ghosts who want revenge (don’t tell me that if he hadn’t gotten his Wail, Danny would have died) Danny probably had nightmares for MONTHS and could barely look at his reflection after everything with Dan, that he’s terrified of cheating or screwing up in case that’s the catalyst for him becoming Dan or something much worse, that it would even impact on how he sees himself as an adult (which I talked all about in another post)
Safe to say, out of everything Danny’s faced, Dan is Danny’s worst fear, the one that left him the most trauma and mental scars outside of Pariah and the accident.
And you know what Dan redemptions do pretty consistently?
They ignore Danny’s trauma.
ALL the focus is on Dan and his trauma and him learning to be a better person and making up for what he did, which is fair considering it’s Dan being redeemed. But there is little to NOTHING on how Dan being in Danny’s timeline affects HIM, that his ultimate enemy and greatest fear is literally constantly around, that him being around triggers all of Danny’s traumas. Danny’s trauma and fears are completely invalidated or hardly acknowledged when it comes to Dan’s redemption and that he must deal with Dan being there instead of rightfully being upset and triggered literally every time he and Dan are in the same freaking room! And hardly none of the characters think it’s a problem when Team Phantom, while not knowing all the details, know just how much Dan messed Danny up! They just push it aside in favour of focusing on Dan!
Dan has trauma and issues, he was a kid who lost everything and Vlad’s ghost half and a lot of things played a role in him becoming evil, that the Danny we know could have gone down the same path quite easily… but can we please acknowledge that and Danny’s trauma over Dan at once without ignoring Danny’s trauma in the process?
Anyway, thanks for coming to my TED talk, just wanted to vent that all out.

"There is something wrong with the way that I am built. I... I can't, uh, I can't just enjoy happiness like regular people, you know? [...] every time something good happens in my life, I... I just I think of when it's gonna end. That's all I can think about." - Danny (S04 E19)
Tumblr media
Original HERE.
I saw it on Twitter and wanted to have it and suffer over here ;_; Transcript of the whole conversation in 4x19 + some thoughts:
Steve: She's pretty.
Danny: What?
Steve: Amber. Can tell she really cares about you, too.
Danny: Yeah, I'll probably screw it up like I do everything else. Right? Not in my DNA to be happy.
Steve: I didn't mean that. That's not what I meant. (Earlier, Steve had said: "Danny, if she (Amber) was the same age as you, you would come up with a different excuse, whatever you need, because you can't be happy. It's impossible for you; it's not in your DNA.")
Danny: No, I'm officially agreeing with you. There is something wrong with the way that I am built. I.. I can't, uh I can't just enjoy happiness like regular people, you know?
Steve: You don't think you're being a little hard on yourself?
Danny: No, I don't. When I was a kid, my parents would go out to eat dinner. And if they were late coming home, I used to imagine that they died in a car wreck, just 'cause they were 15 minutes late. And I used to talk to God and beg him. I said, "Please just take my dad, not my mom." 'Cause I couldn't live without my mom. I mean, every time something good happens in my life, I... I just I think of when it's gonna end. That's all I can think about.
Steve: (seriously concerned) You for real?
Danny: Yeah.
Steve: That's not normal.
Danny: I know it's not normal. Listen to this. On my wedding day, I'm looking at Rachel, just about to say "I do." And all I can see is the day she's gonna serve me with divorce papers. No joke. And I... I don't know, man. The only sustained happiness I ever felt in my life so far is Grace. And, you know, it's just a matter of time before she turns 18, and then she's out the door and she marries some schmuck. I don't know.
Steve: (serious) You got to change, man. You can't live like that.
Danny: Well, I'd like very much to change. It's just not so simple, you know?
-- after losing Billy, Rick(kinda), Grace, Meka, Matt, all the stuff with Rachel and her mother, Gracie being taken away from him almost 3? times, being used as spare parts for Charlie -because if he hadn't been sick, Danny would have never known Charlie was his son and wow if that isn't a punch to the gut-, being there for his mother and sisters when they need something and then they just go 'kay thnx bye' and disappear, all the brushes with death Steve's had, plus his own, plus the stress of worrying about everyone, plus being kidnapped tortured shot and afterwards being basically abandoned by his best friend while barely out of hospital unable to walk unassisted I'm also mad Steve didn't answer his text or his last words wtf Steve?! , not to mention the casual way Danny talks about killing himself through the seasons... and I'm pretty sure I'm forgetting some stuff! man, Danny needs therapy ;_; (and I need to rewatch :D)
EDIT: HOLY SHIT I forgot about Reyes and Colombia, what did all that go - they beat the sht out of him and the guilt he had (and boy if that's not a nice starter for Danny whump... they could have probably done something else and not just beat him up...)
I have lost count also of how many people spell it Columbia and not Colombia in fanfics; un saludo pa' mis hermanos latinoamericanos.

More H50 2x15 mcdanno comments...
* the way Grace asks where her mum or uncle Steve are - she knows if Danny was injured one of them would come for her, which says a lot about Steve's place in her life
* the way when Danny says that Grace is at a tennis lesson, Steve tells Chin which tennis place she's at - he knows which club she has her lessons at, but Chin is not expected to know this
* the way Steve is so visibly stressed when they realise Grace has been taken and he can't get a hold of Danny and he needs to make a decision about what they should do cos he's the boss, but he's visibly trying to pull himself together and focus and even when he manages to focus he's so emotional in a way he never is with cases. Like, he always cares, but this time he's rattled.
* the way Steve just yells Danny's name (multiple times) when they get to the park. He sends Kono and Chin to deal with the bad guy, and his focus is just on Danny.
* it's Steve there with Danny when they rescue Grace, right beside him, untying her, etc.
Not mcdanno but...
I can't comment on this ep without also commenting on how much I appreciate Stan in this episode.
When Danny says he needs to meet him, Stan's first thought is Grace.
When Danny says he needs to shoot him or some guy is going to kill Grace - Stan accepts it. He basically agrees to it. Because it's for Grace.
And I know in s1 he's set up as the 'bad guy' from Danny's POV because he gets time with Rachel and Grace, but I so wanted them to follow through on this moment here - where Danny and Stan are united in their desire to protect Grace and willing to do anything for her.
It would have made such a great starting point for them to start understanding each other, etc. They may never like each other but they both put Grace first.
And think that's also very telling about Stan. That he's okay with getting shot if it's for Grace. He loves her. He cares for her as a father. He's not just putting up with her so he can have Rachel - and I think that's very important to acknowledge.
(But the show was far too focused on making Danny and Stan rivals for Rachel's attention because don't we all know that Danny's straight? Here's proof. No, I'm not bitter about the comphet at all)

Danny Phantom vs. Hazbin Hotel: Afterlife Designs
Happy Halloween folks!
This is my first time doing a special post for a holiday.
And for today, I wanted to have this discussion about a topic I had with some friends.
Specifically about two animated shows that both focus on an afterlife.
A poorly-defined and explained afterlife.....
Those two shows are none other than Danny Phantom and Hazbin Hotel.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
However, one is able to get more across about that afterlife simply through its character design, while the other doesn't.
And if you haven't guessed already, it's the former.
But before we discuss how DP is able to get across more about its world simply through its character design (along with just having far better ones than Hazbin), first we need to talk about why both these shows have poorly-defined afterlives.
Danny Phantom’s was the result of conflicting visions.
Those being between the show’s infamous creator Butch Hartman, and its main producer and developer Steve Marmel.
Butch wanted the series to be relatively episodic and comedic, while Steve wanted it to be a little more darker and put more emphasis on story and world-building.
This resulted in Steve, along with most of the Season 1 and 2 crew, to leave the show.
There’s also the fact that Nickelodeon didn’t want them to mention the obvious, hence why despite the show being about ghosts, there was hardly ever any mentions of death in general.
And this wouldn’t be the last time they’ve done something like this.
Fellow Nicktoon, Avatar: The Last Airbender, famously killed off the character Jet, who was a one-off character in Book One before becoming a major character in Book Two.
Tumblr media
When making his death scene in the episode “Lake Laogai”, Nickelodeon wanted the crew to make this scene more ambiguous.
Which the crew themselves would go on make fun of in the penultimate episode of the series, “The Ember Island Players”.
youtube
In the case of Hazbin Hotel, this can be all blamed on VivziePop.
Viz is famous for not exactly being that good at storytelling.
And this is especially the case when it comes to world-building.
She has a bad habit of revealing major details about the world in her chats and streams, and then never bothering to actually implement them into the show.
And when she eventually does implement those details (whenever that'll be), who knows if she'll even keep those details intact.
But with that out of the way, let's talk about the actual character designs.
Color Scheme:
Color schemes are crucial for character design because they directly influence how viewers perceive a character, conveying their personality, mood, and even their role in a story.
The ghosts of Danny Phantom and the sinners of Hazbin Hotel have a primary color: Green and red.
Largely thanks to the realms they inhabit: The Ghost Zone and Hell.
The sinners of Hazbin have been heavily criticized for their heavy use of red in their designs, and the fact that it's prevalent with many of the characters, can make looking at them a bit tiresome.
Tumblr media
But the ghosts don't have that problem....
Tumblr media
While their primary color is green, if you notice, the amount of green each ghosts has tends to vary.
Some have green eyes like Penelope Spectra, Ember McClain, The Fright Knight, Johnny 13, Walker and even the titular Danny himself.
Some have green hair like Kitty.
Some have green eyes and hair like Skulker and Youngblood.
Or in the case of The Dragon Ghost, scales.
Some have green skin like The Lunch Lady and Technus.
Hell, some don't even have any green like Vlad Plasmius, Sidney Poindexter and The Box Ghost.
Ghosts also have other colors to help balance out of the green.
Skulker for example is primarily made up of gray and black, with a little bit of blue and the aforementioned green.
Another thing that makes the green works is that it's shown to be part of the ghosts' physiology.
While you could argue that this applies to the sinners as well, since they have red in their eyes and hair, but look at these background characters.
Tumblr media
There's hardly any red on them.
So this only really applies to the main ones.
(And also yes, just like everyone else, I do agree these guys have far better designs than the main cast).
Body Types:
If you know Viv, you'd know that one of her biggest criticism is her lack of body diversity.
Her characters are infamous for being INSANELY skinny.
Sure you'll get some characters like Adam, Verosika Mayday and Vortex, but they're the expectations.
Actually now I think about it, I think Helluva Boss has more diversity in body types present.
Most of the secondary characters and even I.M.P. themselves have differing body types from each other.
But the ghosts....
Actually, scratch that....
EVERYONE in Danny Phantom have unique and differing body types from each other.
Tumblr media
The Danny Phantom characters would definitely pass The Silhouette Test.
The Hazbin characters would barely pass.
Outfits:
A character's outfit can really go a long way.
As it can tell you what a character is like by just looking at them.
Each of the main ghosts get this down right.
Even if you haven't watched Danny Phantom, one glance at each of these guys have already tell you what their deal is.
Tumblr media
Skulker is a high-tech hunter.
Sidney Poindexter is a nerd.
Ember is a rockstar.
Johnny is a biker.
Technus is a technological genius.
Desiree is a genie.
Walker is a prison warden.
And The Box Ghost is a total loser.
But if someone who hadn't watched Hazbin Hotel looked at the characters, I'd highly doubt they would be able to get a read on what their deal is.
Maybe except for Charlie and Husk.
There's also the fact that a good chunk of the main cast causally wear formal attire.
Which doesn't make them stand out from each other that much.
Some of the ghosts' attire also give hints to when they lived/died.
Desiree lived during The Ottoman Empire.
The Dragon Ghost lived during The Middle Ages.
The Lunch Lady and Sidney lived during the 1950s.
Johnny and Kitty lived during the 1970s.
And Ember lived during the late-1990s/early-2000s.
The sinners unfortunately lack that.
They don't really have anything that would hint or allude when and where they lived or died.
Physical Traits, Powers and Biology:
One small but strong detail that really makes and breaks the ghosts and sinners are their physical appearances.
While this does get a little muddled for Danny Phantom come Season 2, there is a pretty solid explanation for it.
Throughout Season 1, the major ghosts we're introduced to were either humanoid or animalistic in their physical appearances.
This was a small but subtle detail to imply that the ghosts were, well, the spirits of humans and animals that were once among the living.
However, everything changed with the introduction of Clockwork, the master of all time.
This was quite strange, since he was a ghost.
This only got stranger with the introductions of ghosts like Frostbite and Undergrowth, who despite being ghosts, were notably more monstrous than the ones introduced in Season 1.
However, I think having ghosts there are just monsters or Eldritch-like entities is actually pretty cool.
It really helps makes The Ghost Zone feel like it's own universe and not have it completely be connected to Earth.
Plus, this was actually kinda intended from the beginning.
In the pitch bible for Danny Phantom, The Ghost Zone (originally called The Unreal and eventually Ghost World) was not only suppose to be an afterlife, but also a realm of fantasy, being home to monsters, Eldritch beings, and even mythological creatures.
It seems that for Season 3, Butch decided to go back to that concept.
Mostly like to continue avoiding having to state the obvious.
And given that he would go on record years later to say that ALL of the ghosts of The Ghost Zone were just monsters, I can believe that.
The best showcase of this is in the episode, "Boxed-Up Fury".
In that episode, Danny seeks the help of the actual mythical Pandora, who had her legendary box stolen by Box Ghost, who used it so that could FINALLY be taken seriously by everyone.
Along the way, he faces off against a wide array of monsters from Greek mythology.
These included a hydra, a gorgon, a centaur, a minotaur, and a cyclops.
I think the reason why people took a problem with many of the new ghosts was because the show itself never really explained which ghosts were the souls of the dead and which ghosts were just monsters.
As for the sinners, they're explicit said to be a sub-species of demons that were once humans but died and were sent to Hell.
But with that being considered.....would you be able to see that by just looking at them?
Tumblr media
Due to how monstrous and animalistic they look, it's hard to see the sinners as being the living embodiments of once-living humans.
Made even worse with the fact that none of them have any canon backstories to possibly explain their appearances.
Or at least any that have been shown IN THE ACTUAL SHOW.
I know Danny Phantom has a similar problem, but remember, they were being restricted by a creator and a network that were too cowardly to address the damn obvious.
What's Hazbin's excuse?
Hell (heh heh), the sinners could've just easily been regular demons and it wouldn't make much of a difference.
Another thing to note about the ghosts and sinners are their biology.
The ghosts are able to fly, turn invisible, become intangible, immortality, and possess superhuman physicality.
Plus most of them to possess some kind of special ability.
Like Skulker and his ecto-skeleton with a variety of weapons, Desiree and her wish granting, and Johnny 13 and his Shadow that causes bad luck.
The sinners are......kinda lacking in this regard.
They have special abilities (albeit not as flashy or impressive as the ghosts), a few have the ability to transform into larger and stronger forms, and have animalistic tendencies.
And while we're on the topic of biology, we need to address the demon elephant in the room.....
As I just mentioned earlier, the ghosts are immortal, since they're dead.
And with the fact that the sinners are the souls of the dead, you would think they would be immortal too.
But if you've watched the show, then you'd know that isn't the case at all.
Although sinners can't age (dead and all), they can be killed via the use of the angelic weapons.
youtube
Who thought this was a good idea?
Just like Mantis said, this makes no sense!
Plus it's totally redundant with the fact that the sinners are already DEAD!
I know some people are gonna bring up Coco, which had The Final Death.
But there, it made sense.
Those living in The Land of the Dead would fade into oblivion after getting forgotten by everyone in the human world.
But in Hazbin, what's their excuse?!
And don't even get me started on how Sir Pentious dies and ends up going to Heaven.....
Also before we move on, I did wanted to bring up a few cool things about the biology of the ghosts.
In the TV movie, "The Ultimate Enemy", we find out that....
-Although ghosts can't die, they can still age, albeit slower than humans.
-Even though they can't die, ghosts can still be badly injured. As we see with Future Ember (who had her vocal chords destroyed) and Johnny (who became a paraplegic).
-Ghosts can even reproduce, with the reveal of Box Lunch, the daughter of The Lunch Lady and The Box Ghost.
As for the sinners.....
They can't age, but they can still die (once again, makes no sense).
And as far as we know, they can't reproduce.....
Which is for the better because the last thing I need to see is Angel Dust being able to have kids.
Anyway, that's all I have for now.
I wanted to do something special for Halloween.
Let me know what you guys think about this post.
And also, let me know if there's anything I missed, because I feel like I missed something in this post.
But until next time.....

would the boys fuck their clone?
Steve Murphy: Haha, no. I don’t think Steve Murphy gets particularly hot and bothered by Steve Murphy, and I really can’t picture him being too curious about seeing himself fuck. He’d maybe have a threesome with his clone for Javi though. Maybe. Javi better ask nicely!
Donald Pierce: I have a whole series explicitly detailing all the nasty shit Donald Pierce and his dopplegänger get up to! YGD has also made some incredible art.
Cap Hatfield: He wouldn’t fuck his clone, but I could see them using each other for shibari practice, and they’d be the biggest cuddle buddies and hunting partners.
Clement Mansell: Oh yeah, totally. If nothing else, just to say he did. But… he mostly uses his clone as a companion, someone to vent to, and sing with, and bounce ideas off of, and go to art galleries with. He loves dressing up with him in matching outfits!
The Corinthian: Yeah. Might try to kill him too though. I can see the Corinthian oscillating between adoring himself and also having this intense, condescending disdain.
Eli Klaber: He’ll play with his clone only if they’re both prettied up and putting on a show for his partner!
Danny Maguire: He doesn’t know why, but the idea of being in any way intimate with his clone makes him deeply uncomfortable. He also just doesn’t like looking at him in general. Any little thing his clone does “wrong” pisses Danny the fuck off, and he almost wants to scold him like his dad would’ve scolded him.
Ty Shaw: Ty loves fucking his clone so much, they actually date for a little bit. It ends when they both cheat on each other (the subsequent argument gets mean and messy), but they stay friends and continue to have frequent threesomes.
Quinn McKenna: Not… really. Once in a while he’ll ask if he can practice something on his clone before he does it with a partner, but his clone isn’t gonna be down for anything Quinn isn’t down for, so…

Part 2 of me rambling about s8 of hawaii five 0
Live commentary
ep 6
- did-did Danny really just organize an intervention for Steve? To make him take better care of himself?? I don't know how to feel about this
- Lou really just said "Steve listen to your husband, he loves you" spoken like a true married man
- kinda gotta agree with Dog, not your finest move Danny
- so can we all agree that Danny losing his mind a little over Steve's radiation poisoning is kinda like the whole Steve losing his mind over Danny retiring thing but in reverse?
- I think Steve has never looked more stressed than with this stress counseler person asking him about his sexlife right in front of danny
- awwww now the end of this episode is in my top 3 favorite heart to hearts these two dorks have ever had
- Danny being honest about being scared that Steve isn't taking his radiation poisoning seriously to the point it keeps him awake at night and steve replying that he's scared too but that he doesn't want Danny to change because he loves him the way he is and that he does take things seriously URHGH
THE GROWTH! The genuinely healthy communication! I'm so proud of them 🥹
ep 7
- no no no what is going on between adam and kono? My breakup senses are tingling and I don't like it
- I swear the way Adam and Steve's conversation in the car went is so "let's talk about our respective marriages" coded
Like honestly it's so blatantly obvious - they are literally paralleling mcdanno to kono and adam ffs
- hey and come on adam you too? Why does everyone need to shit on the restaurant thing
- haha Steve is mad people he cares about just walk into a dangerous situation without backup - I love how this season confronts Steve with his own behavior
-hmm l don't know how to feel about Lou literally deleting evidence to protect tani, really most of their shady "police work" really didn't age well
- damn Steve killed a cop, that's definitely gonna fuck with him
- love how Lou is looking out for everyone, he just is the team grandpa
- sooo adam is gonna join five 0 right? This is what all this is about isn't it?
- I swear I am trying to care about junior and tani and what's going on with them but Idk so far I haven't really warmed up to them
ep 8
- eyyy Danny is back and calls Steve babe within 1 min into the episode? This can only be a good one
- nvm I swear to God Steve if you crash land yet another plane-
Seriously dude? Haven't you learned your lesson from the last time?
- naww Danny is so proud of Steves character development, sure hope he isn't gonna do something dumb and risky and ruin it again
- okay so tani and junior huh? They're definitely gonna be a thing soon aren't they
- the dude was killed because he was hiding from a drug cartel that he snitched on and fled with the drug lords daughter, I swear all these people always have the most dramatic backstories
- aaaand steve is doing the dumb reckless thing, Danny my guy I feel you're pain, he is so done with his shit he doesn't even yell at him anymore
- Danny is such a fucking saint, Steve almost went and got himself killed AGAIN and all he cares about is being last and danny husband of the fucking year just goes "yeah yeah you did well let's get a beer maverick"
- okay tani and her brother are kinda cute in their peek sibling behavior, I feel bad now for calling her a kono replacement, girl is much more than that
ep 9
- damn love Jerry's new haircut
- I will never get tiered of Danny and steve bickering about the restaurant, I know they are setting it up to fail but I genuinely think this could have been a good thing to eventually end the show on, like a retirement thing, but oh well
- aww I love Danny trying to comfort neolani with something Steve told him, only to have it backfire and make him anxious again
- pfffff and tani and junior sit in the far back like literal children
- oh great we're doing the biological warfare stuff again, this should be fun
- so they only have 8 hours to live? sounds like a prime love confession set up to me
- love our respective couples comforting each other, have to say tani and junior are doing a way better job tho like seriously Steve "try not to die while I take this call okay?" that's the best you can do, seriously?
- and of course Danny's all time stress response is to bitch about or at Steve, stellar coping skills all around
- omg danny did not just say-and steve didn't - OMG is it actually-
-nvm of course it's a fake out, damn it after 7 season why do I still keep falling for this shit
-the little restaurant talk Danny started to distract Steve and himself with was pretty sweet tho
- hey, wait why is Danny the only one definitely close to death? The others all seem relatively fine
- and of course Steve has to go and needlessly risk himself, so junior has to safe both their ass's instead of him just doing it on his own in the first place
- excuse me people why are there not more fanfics about the crew stuck in quarantine together?? this shit is hilarious and has so much potential for angst!
Please if anyone has some great fic recommendations send them my way please!
-no come on Danny, Steve didn't wanna upset you! That's honestly a pretty mature thing given the situation you were in, and now their arguing
- poor tani and junior they be stuck with these two idiots for a long time
- I could really see tani, just snapping at them after two days to either kill each other or fuck it out already, because their whole shebang is just exhausting for everyone
ep 10
-AHHHHH they finally opened the restaurant!? Progress!
- why does the screen look weird? Please don't let this be a dream type thing
- "Right now grandma Williams is smiling down at you" awww Steve, that is so sweet🥹
- nooo it's a dream thing 😭
- love how everyone makes fun of Steves near mental breakdown haircut, really dude it looks terrible, why does no one stop him?
- wow you really gonna give em kids the judgemental stares for flirting? Steve Danny as if you're any better
- and of course they're getting jumped in freaking quarantine
- really the dude went through all that trouble, just to kill Danny? And didn't even try aiming for the head? amateur
- aww Danny imagining grace wedding, my heart <3
- Danny is hurt, Steve is freaking loosing it, I'm so here for this
- Lou really said "sir, you better have a plan soon because if you don't Steve will come up with one, and only God can help us if that happens" I love you so much Lou
- huh so Danny thinks Charlie will be a cop? That's interesting
- awww and of course Steve is there, sitting next to him like a good husband, and the rest of the ohana
- nooo Danny being there for kono and adams first kid, that is so wholesome 😭
- Steve is straight up having a terrible time, while Danny has some idealistic feverdream about the future, this is so fun
- excuse me Steve you fingering your husband does absolutely not make you even for the liver thing, you nut
- so there gonna blow up a bomb right next to another bomb? Sure that seems reasonable
- yes Lou! Get the sledge hammer!
- poor Eric, don't worry hun we still have 2 seasons left to go Danny will be fine
- no NO you cannot- you did not just show me that while Danny's dying the last thing he hallucinates about is having grown old with Steve 🥺
- "and if I could do it all over again I wouldn't change a thing" I'm done, this is it, that line just killed me 😭❤️
- excuse me, Danny is dying and you people are choosing NOW to tease Steve about his stupid haircut? Seriously??!
- yes everyone copes differently I guess, but when Steve's life was on the line no one was joking around is all I'm saying
- yes Danny Steve saved your life by fingering you, deal with it XD poor Eric is scarred for life
- love Danny genuinely getting some love for once, this was a good episode

Stucky Fic Recs
I’ve bookmarked a lot of fics in my time as a fanfic reader, and lately I’ve been reading-reading my stucky bookmarks. While there’s more than these 8 (a LOT more) these are some of my favorite’s.
Misery I Need by mwestbelle — a story under 3k words set in the Omegaverse where Steve has body issues about looking like an Alpha but being an Omega. Bucky makes him feel better about it (a lil 🌶️)
Brooklyn by togina — an almost 9k story where, before Steve knows Bucky’s still alive, has publicly revealed he was in love with his best friend. But then Bucky comes back and doesn’t know that Steve has said these things publicly, and Steve is terrified to (finally) admit his feelings to him. Somewhat angsty, but happy ending.
The thing that drives the wolves away by caughtinanocean — an almost 8k story where Stucky is already together, and people keep assuming Steve is an abusive boyfriend. Bucky doesn’t know what to do about it at first, and then he does. Very sweet story, I love how they portray Bucky post-Winter Soldier.
Scandal by biblionerd07 — short read, barely 3k, but Steve has to do a press conference after 2 boys are caught getting fresh at the Captain America exhibit. Steve says more than he planned to and 👀
I Get Sentimental When You Hold Me Tight by fiasco_sauce — story’s about 4k and part of a series (I’ve read all of it) but this first story is Omegaverse. Bucky is a feral Alpha in an unknown place, and since he’s been without physical contact for so long it’s not good for him. Steve shackles himself up in the cell so Bucky will view him as safe, and waits for Bucky to approach him. Very sweet story.
The S. Rogers Memorial (it’s NOT a shrine) to J. B. Barnes by SkyisGray — ~18k and worth the read The Avengers realize Steve doesn’t have ANYTHING of Bucky’s, only a drawing of his friend that he drew, and decide to help Steve fix that. It leads to him finding the most important part of the memorial.
Bucky Barnes Defense Squad by biblionerd07 — Steve finds out Bucky went down in history as a bad boy and is NOT having that. Short read, just under 3k, but packs so much story into it I hardly noticed.
Brooklyn, Brooklyn Take Me In by Nightwing11 — 8k story where it begs to ask the question: what if Steve killed the Winter Soldier before unmasking him? SUPER angsty, but happy ending. Our boy Steve goes through the ringer, but it’s one of my favs for a reason. Trust me.
It’s possible if you read a lot of stucky fics, especially around 2015-2018, you’ll have read these (cuz that’s when my bookmarks are for them) but I wanted to give them some love as the author’s deserve to know we’re still reading them in 2025.
Even a comment like “<3” or a “re-read kudos!” I know are greatly beloved by the author.
And if you want more stucky recs … lemme know (or I guess other story recs?) I won’t recommend any explicit fics, but I’ll rec others. Especially as Stucky digs its claws in me again. My main other Marvel ship is Spideypool, so I have those recs too. But if y’all also have any recs feel free to leave ‘em! I’m down to read more!
I also have some DC, BNHA, Merlin, Danny Phantom, DP x DC, Miraculous Ladybug, Rise of the TMNT, Patrochilles (Song of Achilles, Hades the Game, the Illiad, etc.), ATLA, Percy Jackson, Sonic, and Star Wars bookmarks (basically in that order of most < least) if anyone wants any of those fandom fic recs

What are some of your favourite episodes of the bill?
Oooh crikey, so many! Thank you for the question! These are in no particular order. Also apologies for the formatting, I'm on my phone trying to reply and remember which numbered episode is which and have to go check some of them to ensure they're right as I've bounced everywhere around timelines the last couple of years doing the recaps and they blurred.
* All Change, the millennium new years eve when cid became uniform for the night.
* Respect 1 and 2, the end episodes. I don't like the way some of the character storylines were wound up but those two episodes were an amazing tribute.
* The Chief Super's Party, June and Roy flirting at the bar, Brownlow deeply unimpressed by the company that Roy kept. Roy getting one over on the super without Brownlow even realising which allowed him to support Ted. Ted's drunk driving crash ending up with him sleeping on a boat overnight and solving a robbery to save his job whilst hungover.
* The Target Trilogy, June and Steve get shot at. It's thought that it's Steve being targeted but they soon realise how wrong they are. Poor Jo 😕
* An Honour To Serve, Gina's last episodes. Smithy's kiss on the cheek and how much he respects her 💔❤️ "Goodnight Ma'am" (RIP Roberta ❤️)
* Lullaby with Smithy going from reading Tim a bedtime story in a cell with absolutely no feeling in his voice through to him singing 5 little speckled frogs to try keep him calm and not worry him when they were kidnapped.
* Integrity, Nicks first episodes. The contrast of him and Smithy paired together is awesome. Especially when they unite.
* Gunrunner, Smithy and guns...
* Witness and the episodes featuring Carly in the run up. Smithy really became the paternal figure that he didn't want to initially and cared about her, Leanne and Brooke. (& laughing at Nate when he runs the wrong way after sending him to chase after her whilst he stands and has a nice little chat.)
* Righteous Kill 1 and 2, Max protecting the wife and son of a man he shot in S019.
* Brittaniamania, Mickey undercover as a football hooligan and Debbie pretending to be his girlfriend with Dave and Paul his workmates though Paul being shit at plastering almost got them caught.
* Episode 154, the aftermath of Mickeys rape. The acting is incredible.
* Tinderbox, Brownlow, Conway and Meadows in an outward bounds team building course against Manion and his cocky cheating team.
* Conviction - particularly the riot training episode where Smithy and Callum end up having a physical fight to end their frustration over what happened with Devlin. The last episode of that is a bit frustrating though as I don't think Smithy could give his guilt over that quickly to accept a promotion when it was eating him alive. It made out he and Stevie had continued a thing from Gunrunner too that they hadn't. (the promotion thing bugged me so much I made a fic about it)
* First Impressions 1 and 2, purely for WUK (or "WUS!") and nick and uniform hiding in Diane's cupboard to watch Ben on cctv.
* Blurred Around The Edges, Smithy's army friend makes an appearance and turns his world upside down. (another I did a fic about!)
* Soft Talking, Smithy delivers a baby in the middle of a street and has to try and find the mother when she disappears and get her away from the abusive boyfriend and dad.
* When the snow lay roundabout, Danny the elf knowing what Matt secretly wished, Reg being the only copper out because of the snow (he'd only gone to get a Christmas tree) Rod trying to scam uniform, a cheeky kid outing him and helping polly and Gary trim the tree and the barbershop quartet!
* PC Smith, Needing to show himself in a good light, Smithy volunteers with Nick to look after a gay couple who are receiving homophobic threats. Everyone is surprised, not least Smithy himself.
*Episode 372, Cop The Lot "Simon Cowell eat your heart out!"
* Cowboy Country, Max ends up using his mother's priest to try track a Polish criminal down
*Game Plan, Max goes undercover with the Monks family.
* Tolerance, Smithy's C019 training and interview.
* Episode 69 and 70, cop idol and Cass being taken hostage and murdered by the serial killer 💔
* 117 and 118 Smithy's first 2 Sgt episodes including singing at the gay club.
* Good Cop Bad Cop , callum's first. Smithy leaps on him twice and Dan is NOT impressed when Callum acts all dodgy and tries to shut him out.
* 131 Smithy goes undercover in prison to try locate some expensive cars and Ken's son.
* 138 and 139 Smithy and Gina go out for a drink and end up in a drinking game. Smithy cheats! "You're a cab!" The next morning Gina had a little prang and all hell breaks loose.
* 162 the first live episode
* 205 206 Nicks last episodes before going into witness protection. I hate that they didn't make more of his and Sgt!smithy's past but at least they acknowledge it in this episode. It's just a shame that a lot of newer viewers would have been confused as hell at what was going on with their goodbye.
* 214 215 the start of Gina and Jonathan properly.
* Appropriate Force, Callum comes face to face with his ex and her criminal husband. Smithy has to literally pull him away from beating the husband into a pulp for attacking his wife.
* 237 Jim and June get married. For the cast dressed up, Smithy teasing Gina about settling down and shoving her forward to catch the bouquet and the beautiful Gina and Jonathan moments. Though sadly they do end up breaking up.
Killer On The Run, Ryan Jones blames Smithy for him killing his wife. (Smithy had let slip that Ryan was infatuated with a prostitute the episode before) and tries to take revenge, holding both Smithy and Pauline, Smithy's mother at gunpoint at various times
* 272 273 Gina taken hostage by Irene Radford and the story of their history and how alike they were falls out.
* 286 Dan's first appearance at the driving school with Amber and Leela. Amber's attempts to get in with the instructor once she finds out she's a lesbian is hilarious.
* 288 289 Andrea is found out and the station explodes in a fireball thanks to Colin Fairfax. Smithy and Ken's final scene is heartbreaking 💔
*298 Dan transfers and puts himself in danger rescuing a woman who is treated as a slave by those she works for as well as being raped by the father. Rosa is terrified but Dan tries to help, made harder by the fact she's deaf and doesn't speak English.
* 302 303 Mickey returns with MIT colleagues and arrests Neil. It's a heartbreaking look at what the rape had done to Mickey or "Michael" as he insists he is now and then something further breaks his heart....
* 327 Gina is found having collapsed at home by Smithy and Jonathan. Gina and Jonathan have a heart to heart and she almost tells him she wants to reunite... Right as he tells her he has a girlfriend. She forces herself to let him go for good 💔💔
* 349 second live episode and the end of Prosser.
* 360 and 361 Dan finally discovers who it is that has been blackmailing him about his affair and a lot is revealed about his history in these 2.
* 402 403 Smithy returns to work after the Larson debarkle to find Gina graffiting his welcome back posters and his first case involving his ex cellmate
* The Fat Lady Sings, Dave is approached by an opera singer who tells him she's being stalked. He ignores her and soon regrets it. Duncan arrives and arouses suspicions when the others realise he lives in a fancy penthouse apartment and has connections in the operatic world.
* Whose Side Are You On?, Dashers arranges a football match against a group of teens and lets Viv play in goal. (Vivs only experience being netball) so he doesn't have to let Bob Cryer play.
* Square Peg Round Hole, John Boulton is stuck with a needle during an arrest and worries he might have HIV but being John he won't stay at home.
*Wannabe, A young girl makes her attraction to Rod very obvious and he uses it to get her druggy parents.
* Team Play, Jack forces Duncan to take part in a compulsory training course with him. Duncan wants to skip it and work a sexual assault case with Liz. Poor Tom keeps being chucked off the case everyrime Duncan can slip out or take calls before he's dragged back in again to unwillingly participate in the exercise 😂
Badlands, the episode with Daves assault and those leading up to it (and after) with Boultons obsession with the Lovers and trying to nail Mick. The one where George loses it and goes for John when he goads him is perfect. Just a shame it leads the the Dave, Jenny, George, Polly mess.
* Trial Run, Rod calls in sick to Moonlight as a bodyguard. He thinks he's getting a female model but ends up with his hands full with two rich kids, one of which is a little shit.
* 427 Dan at the go kart center
* 481 It's Smithy's birthday, but noone will leave him alone.
* In The Know, Leon finds himself under suspicion when he's spotted being roughed up by a target of CID
* That's Love For You & Rescue Me, Leon struggles with a case where the parents of a baby he has bonded with are suspected of abusing her.
* The Truth Will Out, Smithy asks callum to apologise to a bloke who is accusing him of pushing him. He helps out unofficially when a young kid goes missing and panics when he thinks Smithy had gotten stuck during an underwater rescue. Their final scene is amazing.
* Hide and Seek, Leon finds a little girl hiding in a fireplace and they bond a she looks after her whilst they try to find her mother. They have tea parties and pretend to be invisible and all sorts ❤️ and then Tilly breaks his heart when she says "I thought you were my friend." he later risks his job doing something naughty that is seen by Rachel...
* Solace and The Calling. Dominic is incredible in these episodes, it's a real masterclass of how he can show every bit of what Leon is feeling with the slightest change of expression.
* Tombstone, Callum tries to deal with the death of his estranged father and the knowledge that he was a rapist.
Twanky, Sun Hill put on a panto and catch a criminal attempting to off an officer during it, hopefully without the audience realising.
Sorry, went a little overboard there! Interested to hear about yours (and everyone else's!), Anon!? Could have gone on all night naming eps.

Fuck it Friday
I still have an hour of my Friday, ok.
Because I've been writing and I wanna share some of it. This is one scene of a prologue that I'm sending to, like, a few different people because I'm nervous about the whole concept. But it's fine.
This is an entire scene of a thing. A Hawaii Five-0 thing. Different First Meeting, canon divergence, all wrapped in a nice little Alternate Universe package, I guess? Set in the beginning/during season 3. Danny's not on the team.
Overall, blame @corvid-cryptidd. He's a horrible enabler.
Tumblr media
Steve wasn’t sure what to think of all of this. He hadn’t believed Joe when he said he was Shelburne, but all the lies were starting to get him. The fact that he’d been in Suruga before, that Joe had been moving Shelburne just hours before Steve got to a location, stung. Moving and backtracking in order to avoid Wo Fat — and himself — was smart, and exactly what he’d have done. Joe did know how he operated better than anyone else.
His old commander had had a change of heart somewhere along the way, though, deciding to bring him back to Japan after his failed search just last week and take him to meet Shelburne, but none of it made all this secrecy easier to swallow. Whatever this was about, whether it was Wo Fat’s father or something even deeper, his father was executed for it.
They approached the seaside village mostly in silence after Joe’s explanations, but some noise ahead caught Steve’s attention, as if it was being intentionally made. Joe stopped walking, and Steve followed suit.
“Commander White,” a rather short man greeted. He extended a well-toned arm to Joe for a handshake that Joe quickly met. The vest and equipment — including the M16 rifle over his shoulder — made it easy to place him as military. With a nod towards Steve, he asked, “This is?”
“Lieutenant Commander Steve McGarrett,” Joe introduced, and Steve extended his own hand to the man. “Steve, this is Major Daniel Williams.”
Now slightly closer, Steve could see the American flag on the vest, though no real indication as to what branch the man — Major Williams — was part of.
Eying him up and down with a frown, Williams shook his hand and threw a glance at Joe that Steve couldn't begin to decipher. He shook his head softly.
“You gotta be kidding me,” he muttered, turning around to head back the way he came. “Come on, then.”
Steve could spot more well-armed personnel as they walked, none of them Japanese, all of them carrying themselves in the same way as Williams. The same way Steve saw several other operators move. None of the locals paid any mind to them, though. “What’s with the Army escort?”
“Got a problem with the branch choice, McGarrett?” There was a challenge in his voice, clear even if he didn't turn around to face them.
“No problem,” he said, easily enough. “I'm just curious." Williams glanced back at him, but didn't say anything. “Wo Fat’s still looking, isn’t he?”
“Wo Fat is in Yakuza custody,” Joe answered easily enough. It explained why Joe had decided to bring him to Shelburne now, at least.
“Whether he stays there,” Williams added, gesturing wildly at the world around them, “Remains to be seen. While regrettable, Anna Douglas’ death at least served as a wake-up call.” There was annoyance in his tone, directed, Steve supposed, at the powers that be. “The CIA no longer wants anything to do with him, the Yakuza wants a piece of him.”
“The man who killed Agent Douglas has been arrested,” Steve said, uselessly. Williams nodded, but his shoulders remained tense. This man clearly knew that Hiro Noshimuri was dead, why else would the remaining Yakuza families be gunning for Wo Fat?
“Good for them.” Williams muttered, stopped from saying anything further by the man approaching them with easy, unhurried steps, interrupting their walk to talk with Williams. Steve couldn't hear what they were saying, could barely make out lip movements, and a glance at Joe told him he couldn't either.
Instead, Steve’s focus went to the man’s vest. The UK flag and S.A.S.-like emblem only added to Steve's apprehension.
“Just get moving, MacTavish.” The man avoided Williams’ swat easily enough, giving him a mock salute as he stepped back. “Go.”
“Aye, sir.”
MacTavish walked between the shacks toward the treeline, finally letting them move on. It wasn't long before the three of them came upon what looked like an abandoned shack, but Joe and Williams stopped well before they reached the door.
“Joe?” He questioned, glancing backwards.
“Go on,” Joe nodded toward the door. “You deserve some answers, Steve.”

for the drabble spotify wrapped game, if you want: i rolled my rainbow d10 twice and we have a 75 🌈
❤️ 🌈
75: America's Sweetheart by Elle King
uh. I don't know where this came from. i apologise, my partner-in-fluff 🫡
Also I am obviously not abiding by the technical 100-word definition of drabble here, but instead the much looser 'short piece of writing'.
spotify wrapped drabbles!
Steve doesn't know when he stopped caring about killing people. It didn't bother him until he started caring again.
It's not anyone unusual, is the thing that gets him. It's a nameless, almost-faceless drug smuggler that he didn't even mean to kill, but he shot with intent to disable and a little too much carelessness in a rush to stop the ship they came in on, and when he finally loops back around there's a pool of blood and a corpse with a busted femoral artery.
He's kneeling down, checking a pulse even though it's clearly absent, removing weapons even though he'll clearly have no use for them, when his fingers brush against a thin edge in the inside pocket of the off-the-rack grey suit jacket the guy's wearing.
When he pulls it out, it's a photo. He has to look down to check that it's the same guy in it, partially because death rictus changes a face, especially when your comparison is smiling and happy, and partially because he just hasn't looked at his face properly. It's the same guy, his arm around a similarly smiling woman shoulder-height to him and so close in features she has to be his sister, with a chubby-cheeked frizzy-haired kid straddling his shoulders and holding onto the woman's hand.
One of the first things the military teaches you, explicitly or not, is to erase personhood. Your own, and your enemy's. Numbers, statistics, body parts and targets and usefulness.
He puts the photo back into the dead man's jacket and moves away. A tech comes at some point, body-bags him, and Duke is there and the rest of his team have it well in hand, so he goes back to where their cars are parked, boosts himself onto the hood of the truck, and waits.
Kono walks past at some point, but they're still in the midst of cleanup and HPD handover, so even though she does slow and ask, "You okay, boss?", when he replies in the affirmative she nods and keeps moving.
He remembers himself before. He remembers when it would never would have occurred to him not to think that every person with a bullet in them is a person with a family. A person with a life, at least before they were a person with a death.
He doesn't bother trying to count. The impulse washes over him, but it would take hours with military records and Five-0 reports to calculate anything even close to accuracy.
Himself before was decades ago, but also not that long ago. It was target practice at the Academy and work behind computers in Military Intelligence and crawling through mud with a similarly young Freddie by his side.
Himself after, apparently, is sitting on his own truck at the edge of his own city watching his family and his family's family and his friends and his friends' friends move efficiently through shipping containers and body bags.
Eventually, Danny finds him. He takes one look at Steve's face; he doesn't say anything, just leans against the hood next to Steve and waits.
Eventually, Steve finds the words. "I don't think the military would like me anymore, Danny."
It's not all that new a state of affairs; he got driven by revenge and tattoos in non-regulation places and too many personal attachments and he remembered how to have fun in quiet spaces and how to love in loud ones. He started caring again.
"Good," Danny says, harsh and definite, and Steve realises with a start that the things that would debase him in the eyes of his country are probably exactly the same reasons Danny - not just Danny, his whole family - would cite for loving him. Except the tattoos, maybe.
He can't bring himself to be upset about it in the face of that.

Grayghost for the ask game!
it's been one hundred years, but i have not forgotten to answer the 983478349 of these i have left in my inbox.
-
Valerie was so ready to finally, officially, fully kill Danny.
Don't get her wrong, she really loved her boyfriend a lot. After all the secrets were out, they really bonded and were now dating for almost 4 years.
Since their anniversary was coming up, they both decided to celebrate it by going on a roadtrip across a few neighboring states. They've been saving money for this the whole year!!!
When summer break hit (they were in college now (rip)) they wasted no time, packing Valerie's new (old) car to the roof and going off into the unknown. (unknown = usa)
Valerie insisted that she was gonna be the one to drive the whole time. She didn't really trust Danny and his certified Fenton Driving SkillsTM to not wreck her car.
Danny argued for a while, since he didn't want her to drive so much. It was cute how worried he was that she was gonna be too tired or whatever, but she made it very clear to him that she doesn't mind. He was banned from the driver's seat, no matter what.
Unfortunetly, that led to a little issue that Valerie did not think well enough through.
"WE GOT A NUMBER ONE VICTORY ROYALE, YEAH FORTNITE WE BOUT TO GET DOWN (GET DOWN), TEN KILLS ON THE BOARD RIGHT NOW, JUST WIPED OUT TOMATO TOWN."
Danny was in charge of the AUX cord.
And Danny was abusing his AUX cord rights.
Hard.
"Danny, can you PLEASE turn on some NORMAL MUSIC?" Valerie asked for what felt like the 1000th time.
"What do you mean? Chug Jug With You is such a banger." Danny asnwered with the biggest shit eating grin on his face.
"I can survive stuff like All Star and the rickroll, but the shit you've been pulling up is too much." She let go of the steering wheel with one hand just to quickly gesture in the direction of Danny's phone connected to the car. "What even IS THIS?"
"A banger."
"Danny, I beg you."
"Well. You know the rules. One person drives, the other chooses the music." he said, shrugging.
"I can hardly call your playlist music."
He ignored her comment and continued, "You could always... Let me drive. The you can choose the music."
That Little Shit.
She knew he did this on purpose. She realized when he pulled out an already pre-made playlist. This was his plan all along. Maybe she wasn't so far off when she was insiting he was evil those few years ago. He sure as hell could be evil when he wanted to be.
Well, she was definitly not gonna give in. She couldn't let him win this.
"No. You're banned from driving." she said, holding the wheel just a bit tighter when a new song started playing. It sounded like a badly recorded version of Take On Me. She prayed it was only that, but her dreams were crushed when some little kid with the shittiest mic known to humankind started talking over the song.
"Well, that's fine! We get to listen to the legend himself, Mcap Steve!" Danny exclaimed and started singing with the kid about... mining? diamonds?
And calling it singing was generous, all of it was just screaming.
Of all the minecraft songs, he had to choose the one that was giving her an incredible headache.
.
She eventually gave up and let Danny drive after he pulled out this Mcap Steve's entire discography...
Possibly dying in a traffic accident was way better than another minute of that minecraft parody hell.
_____________
@hannahmanderr and I actually made Danny's roadtrip playlist, so you can listen to it and see what torture this boy put his girlfriend through yourself!
[THE PLAYLIST]
Also: Danny's right, those are bangers.

The downfall of Jason is something that truly pisses me off ever since the first time Steve Burton came back. Rewatching old jasam, liason, his scenes with Carly from 2006-2009, his stuff with spinelli they really destroyed his evolution as a character within a day and it’s crazy. Jason really started thinking for himself and what HE WANTS when Sam got pregnant back in 04. Then 2005 hits and him and Sam play house with Michael after he comes back from being kidnapped by aj. Then that storyline with the therapist where Sam and eventually Jason realize he needs therapy. Then 2007 with Alan’s death he started questioning his actions with Michael and pulling apart from the Quatermaines. Especially after Liz told him he’s the father of Jake. And during the whole keeping Jake’s paternity a secret Liz was very cautious since Luckys fake death in 1999(?).
She and Jason (he’s a grown man), but mostly Jason with looking at Michael buying a gun, wanting the person who killed Leticia( Michael’s babysitter from 1998-2008, you see in s&c 2000 scenes). Accidentally shooting Kate that keeping Jake away was a good thing. Even with Michael’s coma and Kate getting shot at her wedding further proved his life was too dangerous for Jake. But back to the point Alan’s death was the first moment of clarity for Jason.
Michael being in a coma was another one. Especially when he woke up in 2009. His talk with Sam on the rooftop when Michael was having his operation and finally waking up made him realize the Q’s should have taken Michael and keeping him from AJ wasn’t good thing no matter if he loves Carly or not. Michael killing Claudia and going to jail was another. Jake’s death was another one kinda. And like someone else mentioned he wanted Danny and jake. But ever since he came back all of that is gone and it’s back to 90s Jason.

Whumptober 2024 - Day 17
The Hawai’ian sky was clear, the water calm, and for once, Steve had managed to convince Danny to voluntarily take to the seas and make the most out of the weather with him.
He’d expected moaning and winging the entire time from Danny, but he was quiet – not even a single complaint from him as he decided to speed down the highway to the docks.
“You alright, Danno? You haven’t said a single word.”
“It’s Rachel, Steve. She doesn’t have long left.”
The silence was suffocating – Steve knew that Rachel was ill and that Danny had asked for time off to see her, but he didn’t know how serious it was. Danny had sent Grace to his mother on the mainland, he himself preparing to spend her final month or so by her side.
This was his last day before he headed off.
“I’m sorry, Danny. Listen, if you or Rachel or Grace need anything…”
“I know, Steve, I know. Thank you. You’ve given me more than enough by letting me take so much time off.”
The rest of the journey carried on in silence, a silence that carried on as they boarded the small vessel and set off into the sea.
“Is that why you didn’t complain when I mentioned we’d go fishing?”
“Yes, I guess. I just wanted a day where I could pretend everything was alright.”
*
“You know, Steve, this is what I want every time you suggest we get together. No shootouts, no explosions, nobody trying to kill us. Just peace.”
Steve grinned, “Danny, you’re hanging out with the wrong person if you want peace. Tell me though, has it not been exciting?”
“You call being shot exciting? Why am I even asking, of course you think that,” Danny responded, shaking his head, finishing the rest of his beer, and letting his mind stray?
They spent a couple more hours in that peace, watching the sun dip low before the two of them agreed to return back to shore.
“Thanks, Steve, for today. Truly. It was -” Danny didn’t even finish that sentence before the tranquillity the two of them had treasured shattered, bullets whizzing through the air.
Steve whipped out his sidearm, shooting back, looking back at Danny.
“Danny, weapon!” he yelled over the whizzing of the bullets, still shooting back.
“I thought we were going to be relaxing Steve – I don’t carry my gun everywhere,” Danny yelled as he hit the deck.
“But you were coming out with me?” Steve made a good point, and that made Danny even more pissed.
The boat jolted all of a sudden, and Danny saw smoke billowing from the front. The engine.
“Steve, we got to leave. NOW.” He dived overboard, his friend following quickly after, powerless to do anything but watch as the boat sunk, the waves taking the boat to the ocean floor.
“Great, what now?” Danny asked.
“There!” He pointed somewhere to his right and began to swim. Danny didn’t even bother asking, he just followed suit.
*
“Great, just fantastic. We’re on some nameless island, and nobody knows where we are. Next time you suggest we hang out and I say yes, remind me of this.”
“Oh, so you’ve got hope we’ll leave. Good. I thought you’d already given up.”
“Not now, Steve, not now. We’ve got nowhere to go and you’re poking at my words. Also, you’re bleeding…” He pointed at his friend’s arm.
“Danny, breathe. And we’re going to be alright,” he said, holding up a satphone with his good arm.
“I never leave without this either.”

mashnoir because I'm hungry for more and also sperm donor!
i will... do sperm donor first so I can post mashnoir below the fold (since it'll have spoilers for post-ch 6).
anyway the gist of sperm donor (which I set aside to work on president CJ) is that during season 5, shortly after the supremes, a whole bunch of events conspire to make CJ think about kids and the having of them, and she starts considering using a sperm donor. guess who the number one candidate might be. (it's danny).
I had a lot of fun writing it because it was a lot of the day to day political stuff that ASorks excelled at. I had to do like six years of research for the like 12k I had of it.
Snippet (featuring my favourite, CJ + press corps banter):
“Have you changed your stance on your right to adopt?” “Okay,” CJ says, as Katie grins at her. “Just, right out of the gate, that’s what you’re going for?” Katie raises an eyebrow, but Mark holds up his pen beside her. CJ looks between the two of them, before saying, “… Mark?” “Will you be adopting a boy, or a girl?” “Do you two rehearse this act, or…?” Katie and Mark both laugh, exchanging a look, before CJ asks, “Do either of you have a real question?” “Does this law favour younger parents?” “No. Typically the kids who are adopted are younger, generally infants and small children. The older you get, the more likely you are to age out of the system. The Federal Adoption Opportunities Act is designed to streamline the process of getting more kids out of the foster care system and into families that want them, with a focus on getting older kids into foster families and eventual adoption. Chris?” “Will there be any studies conducted on the effects and outcomes associated with adoption, or is that considered a state matter?” “It is one of the requirements of the bill that adoption outcomes will be studied at length, and recommendations will be made to Congress once those studies take place. Steve?” “Do you know who’s dressing up as the Easter Bunny this year?” “You know what? I don’t, but that’s a great question. If any of you see Toby Ziegler around today, you should tell him to do it. That’s a full lid, everyone, thank you. Have a good night.”
as for mashnoir... was literally cackling and kicking my feet over the plot twist in chapter six. the real question of why did i add more chapters... the answer is because I want more interactions between the three of them. Did I maybe pick a more mundane version where I could've written something more gritty (Hawk sleeping with both Hunnicutts and them putting a hit out on each other?). sure. but i'm enjoying subverting the noir twists and turns ;)
also a love letter to your favourite state of maine will be in this fic.
anyway this bit from chapter eight:
Hawkeye should feel relieved, now that the whole scheme is out in the open – now that he’s a co-conspirator in a mercy killing instead of a co-conspirator in a murder – but he doesn’t. If he thought the weight on his soul and his conscience would be eased by the knowledge that he’s easing a dying man’s suffering, that was blown to hell with the knowledge that he’ll be leaving a child without a father. Worse still, he genuinely likes BJ, despite barely knowing him, and the loss of it tears at him. And given this madcap little scheme that he’s hatched of leaving a proper paper trail for any enterprising Barton Keyes-in-training, he’s only contributing to his own suffering by putting himself in close proximity to BJ on a regular basis. The first of these appointments falls in late July, the dead of summer, on a day so hot that there seems to be a permanent haze hanging over Boston, hot enough that the only flowers not wilting are the wax ones sitting on the nurse’s station.
(yes this is the start of chapter eight, don't @ me, I've been pulled in 1000 directions for the past week).
many twists to come. maybe not many. twists to come :)

How far would the Boyd's go to protect someone they love?
Steve Murphy: Eh. He’d do a bit, but he’s a paranoid, law abiding guy at his core! He’d absolutely throw a punch for his person, and if push came to shove he *would* kill someone to defend them, but he’s not gonna like… plot a murder.
Donald Pierce: He’s the sort that’d kill for you, but he wouldn’t die for you. He cares, he’s just… well, he’s kind of a coward! He’d maybe like someone to protect him!
Cap Hatfield: He would sacrifice his whole entire self. He would also do murder. So, so much murder.
Clement Mansell: He’d absolutely murder for a loved one! Probably wouldn’t die for them though! He’s got limits!
The Corinthian: For someone he actually loves and wants to protect? Nothing is off limits. I think he’s actually more likely to do this for someone he’s assigned to protect (like Danny) than someone he’s dating though.
Eli Klaber: Murder, easy. He’d probably sacrifice himself too if it came down to it, but he’d prefer it didn’t get to that point!
Danny Maguire: Well, he’d probably *get* some to kill for you! He’s a bit selfish (and afraid of fucking up) though - he’d rather not get his hands dirty for someone else even if he does love them; he’s more inclined to throw money at a problem.
Ty Shaw: He would plot so much cold-blooded and intricate revenge and murder!
Quinn McKenna: High treason.
