I am begging the Warrior Cats, DC comics, and Danny Phantom fandoms to learn the difference between "rogue" and "rouge."

Normally I don't really care too much about misspellings on the internet. Language is fluid and use changes conventions, bla bla bla. This is a pet peeve I'm apparently never gonna get over, though.

The letter combo "ge" often makes a soft "j" or "zh" sound. Like in beige, garage, general, gouge, etc. But because English has borrowed things from many languages, this rule isn't consistent.

The letter combo "gu" results in a hard "g" consonant. As in guerilla, Prague, dialogue, penguin, guess, etc.

As an aside, this is how you know how to pronounce the two different Gs in "language" because they follow this rule exactly.

Therefore, "rouge" is pronounced "rüzh" and refers to a red color, typically a cosmetic for one's cheeks (aka blush). Also the name of the DC villain Madame Rouge.

Conversely, "rogue" is pronounced "rōg" with a hard G and refers to an independent, uncontrollable, aberrant individual who acts outside the strictures of society, often in an unlawful manner. This is the word I most often see misspelled.

So please remember, if the G is in front of a U you don't need to *guess* how it's pronounced, but if you get mixed up you might end up blushing!

AU where when Danny first got in the portal for the picture jazz being the protective older sister she is and knowing her parents "lab safety" she goes in with Danny and when he trips her immediate thought was to save him from falling in the danger trap she considered the portal and they both become halfas que the canon ghost shenanigans but add protect younger siblings obsessed jazz being a absolute nightmare standing behind Danny the hole time just daring someone to go after team phantom and any time they do they immediately regret as they have angered the older sibling and mercy is not an option.

When pariah dark happens they team up to own him no suit required and jazz and Danny become sibling rulers of the realms.

Somehow their parents find out and go mad scientist on them jazz is 18 in this so says fuck you takes Danny and as the nature secretly petty as shit just calls CPS and takes Danny and sues her parents for child support.

They + Sam & Tucker (because they can convince Tucker's parents it will be good for his future tech career and Sam just tells her parents she's going to stay with her dads side of the family(the drakes)) go to Gotham because no GIW unlike Amity and is ecto rich I also imagine that both are on their way to becoming Ancients of space (Danny) and as odd as it seems older siblings(jazz) they are confused at first until it's explained that the belief of the love and protections that older siblings are some of the most protective and also mischievous towards their younger siblings has built up to for an ancient and jazz just happened to become that ancient.

Que jazz helping college students in the Gotham U library study when they miss their older siblings help like when they where growing up and just being a protection spirit but to siblings in particular. This becomes super annoying when the bats and the birds start setting off her instincts after joker escapes and she can only relax after beating the shit out of him with the anti-creep stick in front of red hood who promptly falls in love with her much to the annoyance of Danny who was already secretly dating tim and meeting at the local coffee shop and ordering their coffee

Goonian Rep Danny AU

So, I think most of us have seen the AU where Danny joins the Goonion as a representative to get them their benefits

And I think we all gloss over the fact that there is another Union for Villains around. The Flash Rogues Gallery! They have Rules, Payouts, punishments, traditions, everything!

I can see a world where Danny joins the Flash Rouges Union as an enforcer of the Rules. Like he is there when they beat the shit out of Inertia for tricking them into killing Bart Allen, or he is the one who punishes Trickster when he breaks the “No unnecessary harming of civilians unless for revenge” Rule.

He is the one who keeps them in line, and he has a similar relationship like the Flash to them, except he is much more morally grey. He won’t care if you kill a civilian as long as the civilian met the “Revenge” criteria, but anything else and you can bet your Pay is docked for the next 3 months

He and Flash have an amicable relationship. He keeps the Rouges in line with the Rules they set up themselves, and Flash acts as the source of their source of entertainment and nemesis.

I like to imagine that one day a Rouge breaks a rule, like maybe that time the Trickster stuck those bombs on the civilians I mentioned before, and Flash just says “Not my problem anymore, you broke the rule”

And he just pulls out his phone and calls Danny to inform him of the violation before sitting back and watching the fireworks (he does save the civilians, no worries)

Day 23: Rouge Gallery

I first read this as Rouge Galaxy and was super confused why a video game was a prompt. Then when I figured out it was about mug shots all I could think of was Walker yelling "1,000 years!"

DP x DC Writing Prompt: Watchtower Technician/Engineer Danny Fenton and Justice League member Dani Phantom

It's been a few years now since Danny Fenton had become the Ghost King. Since then, he's been working hard to maintain peaceful relations with the Living Realm and had found a system to keep his rouge's gallery from being too destructive while still satisfying their obsessions and such.

After that, he decided to semi-officially retire as a hero since he didn't need to protect Amity from his subjects anymore. Choosing to focus on balancing his human life and career, and his duties as the ruler of entire dimension of spirits.

While Danny knew he could never be an astronaut with his "condition", he was able to find a substitute that also managed to satisfy his protection obsession without needing to become a hero again.

Danny Fenton had chosen become an engineer/technician on the Justice League's Watchtower. Which, after a lengthy background check to make sure he wasn't joining as a cover for anything malicious, was ultimately given the green light since Zeta Tube transport was deemed much safer for his "condition".

Meanwhile, the Justice League had finally found a recruit they were interested in for the past few years now since information about him spread to the hero and supernatural communities. Namely, one 14 year old looking ghost named Danny Phantom. However when they did manage to finally track him down, they instead found what looked to be a now 14 year old ghost looking girl calling herself Dani Phantom who looked to be a match for their information on Phantom.

So cue the League coming to the (completely incorrect) conclusion that this must be the hero they're looking for (though he seemed to have become a she, so congrats to her) and don't say anything.

Basically shenanigans with retired Danny Fenton working on the watchtower in peace while Dani Phantom joins the Justice League after they mistake her for a transgender Danny Phantom.

I'm imagining this going in one of several different routes with some potential overlap.

- Both recognize a ghost is nearby (each other) but the League, upon realizing that Danny Fenton comes from a family of Ghost Hunters that span back to 1600s with Jack Fentonightingale, thus assuming it's best to keep Danny oblivious to Dani's existence but they can't keep each other oblivious forever.

- The Watchtower is under attack by some villains and Danny finds a heavily injured Dani among other heroes. As such Danny becomes angered enough to temporarily bring his old hero persona out of the closet (possibly going as far as showing his Ghost King power depending on the villain). Meanwhile the rest of the Justice League are losing their minds over the revelation of them working with the hero's cousin/daughter/clone instead of the original they thought they were working with this entire time.

- One of the supernaturally powerful JL members (John Constantine, Zatanna, Dr. Fate, Shazam, take your pick) recognize that the new employee radiates the same ghostly power as Dani, only stronger before recognizing him as the Ghost King.

- Dani and Danny meet and have their Spider-Man pointing meme moment before nigh-immediately realizing that the League have mistaken Dani for Danny. Thus they immediately realize after that realization they can use this to completely mess with them since they're still unaware.

Probably more ideas but I'll leave that for you to imagine.

I've seen Danny working on the watchtower, both as Fenton for a casual position and as Phantom as a League member. So why not both at the same time only it's Dani Phantom and not Danny.

Danny ends up in Gotham with no memories of his past or ghost powers. In an attempt for more power a rouge observant weakened Clockwork with liquefied blood blossoms, sent multiple rouge ghosts through the portal to occupy tye rest of team Phantom before stabbing Danny in the back with an electrified blade coated in liquefied blood blossoms as well. This forced Danny into human form as cracked his core leading to him having amnesia.

Danny ends up working at a low rent hair salon after the owner found him and patched him up. He's also staying in the apartment above the salon. He doesn't get the danger when a robber tries to rob the store. Danny sits the robber down and gives him a hair cut and listens to his woes and treats him like a normal person and encourages him to do better.

This keep happening and goes from petty criminals to some of the rouges. The bats are kinda freaking out when they find out Killer Croc is working with Gotham sanitation, that Harley and Ivy opened a therapy office and flower shop, and that the Riddler opened a one hundred percent safe and legal escape room business

Ah yes, one of those “Danny helps the Gotham rouge gallery with the power of friendship” prompts, love to see it. I would’ve liked if they all ended up working at the hair salon. Maybe a petty criminal was using the salon as a “hideout” originally, but took pity on the confused, lanky, wet-cat looking teen. So they made the salon more of a legitimate business, just so Danny could get a living wage(and maybe a bit more than that). Robbers with grudges against the owner get sat down by Danny and are defeated by just having someone to talk to.

I wonder what the rest of Team Phantom are doing. They’re looking for Danny, obviously, and I can see that whole thing going like that one SpongeBob episode. Where Danny doesn’t really want to leave. He doesn’t remember his friends, only his new ones. But I’d imagine his new friends would want him to remember, would want him to go back to his friends. They would help him remember, and support him to the very end.

Danny and the waynes

So playboy bruce wayne gets a girl pregnant, but because she sleeps around she has no idea who the farther is and cant provide for danny

So he gets put on the foster system for a few years when, at 5-7 years old is adopted by the fentons

The years in the foster system has caused him some mental health problems and that inspired jazz to be a psychologist

Danny growes up, has his accident, danny phantom happens, he comes out to his parents as phantom and they accept him, but aftrt a few years guarding amity he wants to explore

So he finds a way to graduate early, get permission from the fentons to go on a year long trip(as long as he keeps in touch)

Afew months later 16 year old danny is in gothem and gets into a rouge gallerys battle field

One thing leads to another and when danny mentioned he was in the foster system but isn't any more they ask to do a DNA test...

Only for it to say he's bruce waynes kid...

Commissioner gorden knocked on the wayne door asking to talk to bruce wayne

Gorden tells them they might want to get all of their siblings their while he talks to bruce, and takes bruce into his study to talk privately

So all of the batkids are there wondering whats going on when gorden walks out of the room, excuses himself and leaves

When bruce cmes out he's pale as paper and he says the words no one was expecting

So they all get filled in and their all loosing their minds

Dick is exited to get another brother

Jason is praying this "danny" wasn't anything like the demon brat

Tim was a mix between hoping this one doesn't kill him, and getting ready to compete with dick for tital of favourite brother

And danian is having a life crisis at not being the only blood son but being the younger blood son

Danny is a mix between anxious at meeting his birth family and exited at having a more normal family

I can totally see the toughest being shocked by seeing harmless sweet Jack, turn into the dangerous mad scientist that they technically knew, but like keeps forgetting because of how sweet he is.

I just want you to imagine a reveal where Jack takes it well and Maddie doesn’t, resulting in a divorce and Jack getting custody

Then the kids grow up. A couple years pass, Jazz visits on holidays, calls once a week to check in, Danny just went off to college

So what we have is Jack Fenton, divorced empty nester now with way to much time on his hands

So he starts going out to meet people

The problem? He ends up in a rogues bar in Gotham and is oblivious to the fact he’s meeting/flirting with supervillains

And Jack is happy as a clam! He’s meeting all these interesting people with PhDs! He has a PhD!

I like to think that the reason Jack and Maddie never noticed Danny's ghostlyness is because one (or both) of them are related to a rogue with visible mutations.

Obviously, you've got people like Poison Ivy, Two Face, and Killer Croc, but there's also The Penguin, Joker, and Bane. Seriously, how f-ed looking was Danny Devito's Penguin? Bane weirdly makes a lot of sense since Jack is also built like a firetruck. But, you could pull from any heroes Rouges Gallery.

Anyway.

So eventually, Danny starts to have ghostly features in his human form. Glowing eyes, razor sharp teeth, or an odd skin color. Of course he'd freak out and try to hide it from his parents, but eventually they notice anyway and sit him down to have the "talk". Just not the one he's been expecting.

This ends with Danny having an existential crisis. Is he a halfa or is he a meta?

The thing I love about the Danny Phantom and Batman/DC crossovers with Bruce adopting or trying to adopt Danny, is that it boils down to Bruce pretty much being like:

“Wow this one comes pre installed with trauma, shenanigans and a rouge’s gallery and I didn’t even show him the cave yet. Alfred call the guy!!”

Gotham's Phantom Royals

What if Sam was Lady Gotham? Just like Danny's haunt is Amity Park, what if Sam's became Gotham when she turned liminal/became a ghost?

You can't deny that she'd definitely love to call a gothic, aesthetically pleasing city with a penchant for chaos her own. I'm not sure how this would work timeline or dimension wise, but I like the imagery of her and Danny, in ghost form, going out on the town like the lovebirds they are and people catching flickering glimpses of a handsome, white-haired King lovingly escorting a beautiful woman dripping in black and violet, both decked out in their respective regalia that hints towards their stations.

The Bats have no idea what's going on, but the citizens have turned the sightings of the couple into a tourist trap and everyone is dying to know the whole love story. Some people have even come up with their own tales about them to the point that no one knows which one they want to believe most. Even Gotham's rouge gallery is completely invested, so far to the point that if the couple is seen anywhere near an ongoing takeover, everyone freezes as they watch them walk/prance/waltz across the scene with smiles and silent laughter. They never speak or look at anyone else besides each other.

It's only when one takes it a step too far and dares to try and capture the lovebirds that they find out just who they're dealing with. Never have a pair of green and purple glowing eyes turning to peer into the depths of their twisted soul felt so terrifying.

To make it even more interesting, what about making it everlasting trio? What city does Tucker haunt? Are there sightings of the three in his city too? Either way, everyone who catches a glimpse of them and their relationship is absolutely smitten with the couple/throuple and see them as peak romance.

DPXDC Prompt #43

Danny had kept many secrets from his family over the years. He kept his history as an ex-assassin secret, the fact that he had a twin a secret, the fact that he had died (well half died), and he kept that he was technically king of all ghosts a secret too. He was gearing up to tell his parents about everything he was and this trip to Gotham that they were planning.

There was a science convention that his parents were invited too. Little did they know a group of cultists were planning on kidnapping his family as a sacrifice to the ghost king, they needed 5 and they figured the Fentons would be good, a family of ghost hunters getting sacrificed to the king? They needed a 5th so they also kidnapped a Damian Wayne.

now all 5 of them are in a room, Danny doesn’t even know what’ll happen when the summoning doesn’t work and he knows it won’t seeing as you can’t summon the king into a room he’s already in.

DPXDC Prompt #58

Gotham is a city with a lot of ambient ectoplasm, enough that the Fentons move here instead of Amity Park. Danny being a pretty smart kid being the son of 2 scientists gets a scholarship to Gotham academy where he makes friends with Tim and Damian. Well the 2 were only doing it at first because they wanted to keep an eye on them scientists rarely didn’t become rouges in Batman’s gallery so can you really blame them for being cautious?

Danny is telling them about the portal that they were trying to build and how it wasn’t working and how Danny felt guilty about it. The 3 venture down there when the parents are gone and Danny wearing his hazmat goes into the portal while the other 2 watch on. Danny trips and no one’s having a good time.

They decided to take Danny to Wayne manor until they can figure out what exactly happened to him, unfortunately Danny’s new powers act up and he winds up phasing through the floor into the basement… or more accurately the Bat cave.

this one has been changed a bit from the prompt but I think those changes are more natural

In one universe Damian was sent to live with his father at age 10, in another he winds up escaping Nanda Parbat to America after faking his death. He changed his name to Danny and moves in with a family called the Fentons. Danny dies and is revived by the portal and even becomes king of the infinite realms.

Danny falls through a portal into Gotham but not his universes Gotham but one where he becomes Robin instead. He and Robin meet and of course this version of him assumes Danny’s a clone. Everyone else is just confused and Danny just wants to go home to his universe or does he since the GIW doesn’t exist in this universe…

DPXDC Prompt #108

When you meet your soulmate you both feel it, you know down to your bones that this person was meant to be with you for life, if you’re unable to find them before you pass on, your ghosts will be unable to locate each other in the afterlife. The Fentons tried to make a way to locate your soulmate using ectoplasm, unfortunately for Danny he’s the only one in the family yet to find his. Jazz actually found hers when she started school in Gotham, some guy named Jason, if Danny remembered correctly. They try some experiments with Danny and something works just not as intended as with every piece of Fenton tech. Danny wakes up in an unfamiliar room and in an unfamiliar body. Looking around, it appears his soulmate is rich, he’s got to call his soulmate and explain the situation. He’s not looking forward to explaining his powers to them but if they’re going to be in his body best to let them know what to expect from Danny’s weird biology.

Damian woke up to an unfamiliar ringtone in an unfamiliar room. Assessing the situation he noticed the number from the phone was actually his own. Might as well answer it to see if he could get some answers.

DPXDC Prompt #128

No one was quite sure what happened, They had gone after Joker and while Batman was hesitant to allow Hood along he had gotten better about his anger and everyone else was busy with other rouges. one second Red Hood had a gun in Jokers face the next, there was a shift in Hood like he wasn’t himself anymore. Unfortunately it finally happened for Hood, his soulmate had reached 20 years of age and the two switched places. The person controlling his body now though was Danny Fenton who happens not to like clowns.

Danny was panicking and not realizing he was holding a gun pulls the trigger causing the Joker the go flying and Danny’s panic to increase 10 fold. He whips his head to get a look at his surroundings and that’s when he panics further and slowly places the gun on the ground and slowly raise his hands into the air. There in front of him was Batman and he knew he was in trouble. Still panicking he squeaked at the dark knight’s approach, “I’m sorry!! I- I guess I’m this guy’s soulmate. I didn’t mean to hurt anyone”

Jason meanwhile wasn’t fairing any better. He was pissed the clown was right in front of him and he was so close! He was in this scrawny body, his soulmate happened to be in Gotham but by the looks of it, he was in rough shape, a small fever was forming and it seemed like he had bandages wrapped around his torso. Jason doesn’t know what happened to him but he’s taking him to Alfred, he wasn’t going to let his soulmate bleed out in an alley even if he did have the worst timing.

DPXDC Prompt #136

Danny falls through a natural portal and gets turned into a dog. I’m thinking he gets turned into something husky adjacent like a pomsky or something. He gets found by Jon who wants to give him to his friend and possible crush Damian. Danny wants to get back he was in the middle of some ghost politics but this young kid seemed like he needed a friend. Danny could see through Damian’s cold exterior and what Danny saw was a little kid who went through a lot of trauma in his childhood and Danny wanted to protect him.

It was considered a pretty big deal when a new ancient gets born. Danny didn’t and wouldn’t know this when he gets into an accident. A signal went out to all magic users that the ancient of space was born as soon as he stepped out of the portal and then things changed. If you could make a deal with an ancient it increased your power way more than that of a demon. Soon Danny gets chased by all sorts of folk trying to make a deal with him. He then gets caught by John Constantine who takes him back to the safety of the watchtower. What is the safest place to put the space ancient? In space!

DPXDC Prompt #148

Danny didn’t want to go to the gala but since all of his friends were busy with their own soulmates there wasn’t much he could argue. Vlad invited his family and him to a gala out in Gotham and his parents jumped at the opportunity to show their madness with some of the elite. Danny couldn’t wait to get home, yes he knew he had a soulmate but he wasn’t sure if he wanted to pursue them or not.

They could feel each other’s emotions and his soulmate was an angry person. Danny’s whole life his soulmate acted mad and strangely prideful. But those didn’t compare to his fear, they seemed to have gotten themselves in trouble in the past and maybe even had a few close encounters with death. They also seemed to bottle feelings up from what he could tell his soulmate might not have had the best childhood but Danny couldn’t really say much on that.

Damian knew his soulmate was kind of soft. They seemed to get annoyed at his family typical for a teen. Of all the things he noted about him his dislike of Christmas was a little odd but not everyone has to like the holidays he supposed. His mother Talia imparted on him that he should protect his soulmate with his life when he finds him so he was very determined to find them. Of course galas we’re the best place to look so he desperately asked every time his father hosted one.

Notice for residents of Gotham!!! The opposite is true here! If you trick or treat, make sure your costumes do not include masks that cover your face! Especially adults escorting their kids. If your little ones are going to dress as Robin, please, for the love of all that is good, do NOT let them wear the mask. It is actively putting them in danger! If you are looking for a relatively safe location to trick or treat for young children, myself and some other students at Gotham U are setting up a trunk-or-treat from 3-5 p.m. on Halloween at parking lot E, behind the rec center. GLOW STICK REMINDER Red Hood's boys posted some signs around Crime Alley reminding people of the importance of Glow Sticks as well! Red glow sticks means: Minor accompanied by adult. Blue glow sticks are for the Adults accompanying kids! Attach them securely to a part of your costume that is not easily removed. I personally suggest attaching to a front-facing zipper, if possible. This is VERY IMPORTANT to remember, especially given our local rogue gallery's penchant for causing trouble. If you get separated from your little ones, having that glow stick signals to the Bats that there are kids that may need help! FEAR TOXIN REMINDER

Keep in mind, if going to a party or out on the street where the nearest safe-zone is located. All police stations, hospitals and area high schools are participating this year as safe zones, where you can go during a rogue attack. If you feel you have been affected by fear toxin, immediately make your way to the nearest police station or hospital to receive treatment. Some high schools will have the antitoxin on hand, but not all of them, and priority treatment there will be given to children.

As your beloved ghost hero, I’d like to remind everyone as we get closer to Halloween;

trick or treat, IN COSTUMES

I hate having to say this every year, but if you’re dressed normally and you’re not handing out candy, get your ass off the streets!

Amity is the most haunted town in the world, you can’t possibly think going out on Halloween dressed as the mundane is going to actually work.

If the GIW doesn’t snatch you, thinking you’re a ghost trying to hide as human during the holiday; a ghost just might!
