im aware that daniel calling armand "boss" is a one time thing in the book and at some point it became like a fanon nickname that gets used frequently and some people don't like it. but personally i am a daniel caling armand "boss" enjoyer. i think it's cute. especially when it's like... it just started out as a snarky passive aggressive thing whenever armand got really bossy and bitchy and daniel bit back and then it evolved into a term of endearment

Max stares at his message thread with Daniel. Thumbs poised over the keyboard.

He stares at the letters in the first line, QWERTY. He types Hey Daniel, and then deletes it.

The last message on the thread is a laughing emoji Daniel had sent in response to a sarcastic comment Max had made. The timestamp tells him it was 7 hours ago.

Max isn’t even sure what he wants to say.

I miss your face. ?

Texting isn’t the same. Max misses seeing Daniel’s face light up as they spot each other across the paddock.

Two nights ago he actually logged in to Instagram and scrolled to Daniel’s page in an act of pathetic longing.

It was only then that he realised that Daniel had removed some, no, a lot of photos. Some of Max’s favourites.

He doesn’t know how to explain the tightness it caused in his chest. Something twisty and painful.

He had told Daniel he understood the reasons for doing so. But he doesn't really.

In the end Max pulls up his camera and takes a photo of himself frowning dramatically. He attaches it to the message thread and sends it before he can second guess himself. I miss you.

The photo he gets back causes butterflies to form, but he tries not to focus on the tantalising bare chest, teasing him. Instead focuses on the soft, small smile on Daniel���s face. I miss you too Maxy.
