Realized I never posted these separately! Might as well give y'all some more info about them too while we're at it. SpeedPaint can be found here! But I'll add some more fun facts under the cut!

Daniel

Daniel is immortal. Originally he was a rich kid with mommy issues. He's now turned into a rebellious 400 year old punk with both Mother and Father issues! He's immortal, he's got a best friend reaper, and he's also been clean of nicotine for almost two decades! He's also got ADHD cause he's my favorite and so inherited my mental illness!

Heather

Heather calls herself Daniel's father, even though she's a cis woman. She's about 2100 years old ish? She witnessed the burning of the library of Alexandria, and it changed something in her. Soon afterwards, she became immortal. She now sees herself as the guardian of mortal's history. She's seen empires rise and fall, she's stolen books from burning pyres, and collected a lot of knowledge from all around the world.

Celine

Celine's a human witch. While not a monstrous race or condition, witches often get lumped in with talks of monsters. Her path towards witchcraft started as a coping mechanism for her OCD. As of now, she's managing her OCD fairly well. But on days when it's really bad, she relies on her bodyguard/bouncer to run the bar.

Ashe

Ashe is a personification of the concept of humanity. He goes by he/they pronouns and has a lot more personality than other reapers. They have stars in their cloak because stars & the stories they told have been part of humanity for as long as it existed. Wears a bowtie for fun!

Mushroom Demon

The personification of Addiction. Addiction isn't the person, it is the tentacles attached below it. Originally inspired by an inktober prompt! The immortal soul it currently is holding onto is almost useless to Addiction. It hunts down immortals, who are particularly prone to it, and captures them to consume them. The process of 'possessing' them is very long and tedious, so Addiction has to keep them coming back & staying with it.

My hot take is that all architects are male coded. Because they represent not only violence against nature, but violence against women. They are still framed as living beings with feelings and fears and the capability of redemption. But there is a point made of multiple leviathans being female, so I think it is fair to make the point of architects being male leaning if only in terms of the stories themes and not so much in the literal lore, is valid as well. Giving Al-An that voice and making Robin a woman was a deliberate choice.

And like come on. They need babies but cant make them themselves so they try to force multiple females to have them for them, and take them away from their mothers. Like there is something there.

They always need to use a womans body. Be it for children or their own survival. And her consent is never considered.

Onto my favorites of the entire thing, these are the clubs! I had a lot of fun contrasting the dark and monotone colors with the bright drippy neon colors! And, you know, the colors for the ace flag are in there for Reasons LMAO

Daniel ~ King of Clubs

Daniel is the whole reason any of this started! I made a character who had ADHD, was immortal, and wore an Asexual themed hoodie! I couldn't fit him in anything so I ended up making a whole world for him! XD despite these beginnings, however, he's gone through a lot of changes!

Nowadays, instead of being depressed and rich, Daniel is a punk graffiti artist! He doesn't give a damn about money and is much happier for it! He still has a terribly angsty backstory, but he got over being emo and is ready to fight the bourgeoisie.

Yet, he's still a bit young when it comes to Immortals. He's 400 years old, and only learned about other immortals in the last 150 years or so. Still, he's used to masking and hiding his supernatural aspects to seem normal. He doesn't want his friends to think of him differently. He's very loyal to his friends, they mean the world to him, and he's terrified that he'll lose them if they knew.

Ashe ~ Queen of Clubs

Ashe is.... Definitely different than most of his kind. Most Reapers are personifications of neutral concepts. Intangible things like Time or Gravity. They don't have much personality or zest. Ashe is the personification of Humanity, so they're allowed more wiggle room! They can be pretty chatty when they're guiding souls to the other side.

Ashe is pretty familiar with Daniel! He's always stoked to see him, as it breaks up the monotony of their job. Plus, Daniel always seems to bring some color to the drab world! Not to mention Ashe has saved Daniel in the past. For mortals, addiction is a lifelong disease, but for immortals it never ends, and some things will prey on that addiction...

Addiction ~ Jack of Spades

Again, no name for this one, but for a very different reason. This mushroom lady is actually the Demon of Addiction. Or rather... The tentacles are. The upper body is an unfortunate immortal soul, and is slowly being fed upon by the demon. As you can see, Addiction is quite literally eating away at them.

Demons feed off of souls, and immortal souls are like almost unlimited batteries. Reapers and Angels can scare them off, but... Addiction has a way of luring in its victims and enticing them to stay. Escape, indulgence, community, all reasons souls keep coming back to it. And it doesn't forget its victims either, it will call out for you, again and again, trying to tempt you back.

Daniel has a nicotine habit. He's gotten better, thanks to Ashe, but Addiction is patience. It can wait for him to have a slip, for the stresses of life to be too much, and it can offer him escape again. And maybe it'll be able to replace its withering form.
