She leapt over the barrier. Yeah, you're not supposed to do that, but nobody was stopping her. Several members of the McLaren team helped her to get over the barrier (because God knows she couldn't have done it on her own).

Lando didn't notice at first, too busy getting congratulated by Daniel. But, when he turned himself around to pump his fist at the crowd, she was there. She was running towards him.

His arms were open in just enough time for her to run into them. Suddenly they were jumping, spinning in a circle as they jumped up and down.

"You did it! You did it! You did it!" She cried through tears.

She looked at her boyfriend, her F1 race winner boyfriend! This was something he'd been wanting for so fucking long now, since before they'd met. And, after 110 races, 15 podium and five fucking years, it finally happened.

She kissed him. Not caring much about the cameras on him, she grabbed his sweaty face and pulled it towards her own, full on kissing him in front of the cameras. She pulled away just slightly, but Lando was pulling her back, nose bumping against her own as his tongue licked into her mouth.

(It was certainly unprofessional, certainly too much for Formula One).

But they didn't take it further than that. Lando's face was red when he pulled away, and he could see the embarrassment written on her own. Tears were in her eyes as she smiled at him and Lando pulled her into his chest.

He held her there as she cried happy tears against his chest. Lando turned towards the crowd, his arm around her, keeping her hidden as she cried. But she was just so damn happy. He pumped his fist and the crowd cheered.

"I love you," she whispered. "I love you, I love you, I love you."

"This one's for you, baby," he whispered.

But there wasn't a chance for them to say much else to each other. A steward or FIA official or whoever was pulling her away so that Lando could get weighed and taken to the cool down room, and get his trophy.

She was there, screaming up at the podium as he got his trophy. Her heart was in her mouth when he threw it into the air. And, as he was doused with champagne, Max and Charles concentrating their spray of champagne, she'd never been so proud of him.

"Oh sorry I should have been paying attention." I said as I just walked into someone. I looked up seeing this muscular man.

"What's going on over here?" Hondo asked with Vivi in his arms. She immediately got excited when she seen me.

"Hi tee-tee's baby. You having fun birthday girl?" I asked taking her. She smiled spitting bubbles. "Deacon here was just doing your job something you were supposed to do Sargent Harrelson." I said.

"So Desiree what's your occupation?" Chris asked.

"I am realestate agent I am my own ceo nobody's bossing me around." I tell them. We were all just sitting around in a circle talking getting to know each other until it was time to sing happy birthday and open some gifts.

I had this whole big cute prompt written and tumblr ate it so here's take two 😭

Lando was fast asleep against his chest. He had a leg over Daniel's, face smushed against his shoulder and a hand knotted in his shirt.

Daniel's hand rested against warm skin under the shirt that Lando had stolen from him years ago now. He rubbed soft, soothing circles into his ribs with his thumb, listening to the soft duo of snores assaulting him as he scrolled on his phone.

Flynn was finally fast asleep in the crib beside their bed. Their little baby had been suffering wickedly with teething and all he wanted was Lando. He refused to settle unless Lando was holding him, meaning that both of his boys were exhausted.

This wasn't exactly how he had planned their break to go. He had expected more relaxing and time spent playing together with their children, but Daniel wouldn't change a thing about this as Eloise text him again.

Their little girl was not so little anymore at almost eleven years old. Sometimes Daniel couldn't believe how much she had grown, missing the cheeky little three year old he had met colouring in the MTC, but it was a privlage to get to watch her grow.

She was currently out with friends under the supervision of two of her friends mothers, and texting Daniel pictures of things she wanted to get Flynn dor Christmas.

Eloise had taken to being a big sister like a duck to water.

Lando had been a little worried that a new baby would upset her after almost ten years of being an only child, but Eloise had taken one look at Flynn and that was it. She loved being a big sister, and still proudly told everyone about her baby brother in a way that made Daniel's chest fill with warmth.

Every single day with his family was something he cherished more than any past win he had ever had.

They might not always be perfect, but they were his and Daniel wouldn't change a damn thing.

He used to think that this would never happen for him. He had always been told he was too loud, too unserious, too needy, for long term relationships. Everyone had seen him as a fun for the moment guy, and never wanted anything more but then Lando had come into his life and turned it upside down from the moment they had met, changing everything. There was never a moment in the last seven years where he had ever regretted this, and he never would.

A soft sound pulled his attention from his thoughts back to his family as Lando let out a long sigh.

The other was shifting in his sleep. A little crease appeared between his brows as he seemed to try and pull his knees towards his chest but couldn't because of how he was curled into Daniel. His fingers tightened a little against his shoulder, and Daniel couldn't help but laugh.

He wasn't laughing at Lando, no. He was laughing at the fact that he knew he could look at Flynn and somehow see the same expression on their son despite him being biologically Daniel's. The two of them were like little peas in a pod and Daniel loved it as Lando let out another little huff.

Daniel rubbed his hand along the others side, trying to ease whatever ever was happening in his dream, but he knew Lando would wake up soon. That whine was his "I'm waking up but don't want to whine" that Daniel was all too familiar with.

"It's okay, baby", Daniel whispered and leaned down to pepper soft kisses all over Lando's face, "I've got you"

Lando's face relaxed as Daniel continued to rain kisses down on his cheeks and forehead before his eyes were fluttering open and a soft smile tugged at his lips.

"Sorry, was I sleep?", Lando mumbled, tilting his head up for a quick, soft kiss that Daniel happily gave him.

"Yeah sweetheart, but that's okay. You can go back to sleep. I've got you both"

Lando stretched a little, craning his neck to see Flynn before he curled back up against Daniel with a happy sigh.

"Wake me in an hour?" was mumbled against the skin of his neck as Lando tucked his face against his shoulder, "Love you"

"Of course, sweetheart", Daniel kissed his curls, "Love you more"

My hot takes about cobra kai as (I hope) a not biased viewer:

- Everyone is kind of exaggerating everything that happened between Mijagi Do and Tory. People are looking way too much into it saying things like “Daniel clearly wanted Sam to win” “They should have gone straight to Tory when she left” “they betrayed her”, etc. First of all, none of these people were saying shit when Daniel and Johnny left Robby with Kreese (who ten minutes before tried to kill Johnny AGAIN), but apart from that, this show clearly doesn’t believe in going after this kids when they are upset. Second, they needed Tory to feel alone for the plot…there is nothing much to it, this show is not a masterpiece they are doing what they can with what they have. Then, saying Robby should have gone after Tory, like Devon or Johnny or Sam. Would I have loved that? Yes, but if that were the case we would NOT HAVE A PLOT and idk, she just lost her mum what is Robby supposed to tell her? How can he comfort her? How would YOU comfort a person that has never let anyone help her o comfort her? Tory has showed more than one time that she pushes people away when they try to help her, and even if she was getting better, this season is about the main characters repeating their bullshit again (ejem Johnny and Daniel). And apart from that, he is a 17 year old boy, Devon is even younger, I wouldn’t know what to say either. Some people want and need space too, you know? And Tory had a brother, maybe they thought she was going to him. I try to understand all the characters, not just the victim.

- “Daniel only wanted Sam to win” yes, we have seen during all season Daniel showing a clear preference for Sam (even positioning her above the boys which is…debatable because her technique is beautiful and precise but she is not as agile as the rest) and yes, it was kind of insufferable because he didn’t even put Tory in the list and she is a BEAST. But, as a matter of fact, I don’t think him stopping the fight had anything to do with that. He just saw Tory as a little girl who just her mum, a little girl who probably hadn’t slept or eaten well in days. And he also watched her been more brutal with his daughter, which Tory once left in the hospital with stitches too. And everyone keeps saying “Johnny was right! Let her fight with anger!” But one, that’s his daughter in the mat, and second, please remind me how things go when this kids fight with anger and pain. The school fight? Miguel falling? The spikes bracelet? Dimitris arm? Kenny and Anthony? Robby vs Keeny? The apartment fight? Tell me, is it really worth it? These kids getting seriously hurt? To me, it’s not. They should have tried to find another way.

- Hawk vs Dimitri? Everyone saying Dimitri is a traitor makes me LAUGH because you all don’t like it when things turn around, huh? Dimitri didn’t even left a scratch on Hawk, he did was cobra kai has been doing since S1 (use their weaknesses against them). But when Hawk injured Robby you all said it was part of the tournament, that it wasn’t a big deal. When Miguel used that injure against him, it’s justified. I could keep on with that, but I will just let it there. I was waiting for Dimitri to finally do something for himself.

- Miguel’s fanboys are the worst. Crying about Miguel not winning 😭 baby Miguel has won time after time Robby earned this fair and square. His technique is awesome, his agility, his kicks, and the actor literally did all of this for his character. If you can’t respect it for Robby, at least do it for Tanner.

- why is everyone thinking Tory will be with Kwon? You really think Tory will just straight forget what Kim did to her? You really think she just will be all friendly buddy with them? She needs them and they need her, that’s all. And Tory clearly loves Robby, it’s not so hard to understand, they are building everything for them to end up together like they did with Miguel and Sam last season.

- Daniel was INSUFFERABLE WITH MIJAGI LET THAT MAN REST IN PEACE.

- Why is everyone making it look like Miguel being in the wait list is the end of the world? Doesn’t that happen to most kids in the USA? And if they are short on money…get a job? Like I did? Like most of us do? I love Miguel, I really do, but they are making it look way worse than it actually is. He is smart and dedicated, if standford says no, well keep going.

- Hawk being nerfed is full plot.

- people really think a focused Miguel can win easily against a focused Robby? We have seen since s1 that focus is Robby’s main problem but when he focus…he was literally smirking while fighting Miguel man he is a force to be reckoned with.

- Someone needs to explain to me why Johnny hasn’t kicked Daniel in the face yet.

yan!prince rothbart who hears the kitchen staff talking rather rudely about him after you take too long to fetch him some bread to eat. they weren't wrong speaking about how he just wants to rule the forest, but they would do the same. he wanted to wait until it died down until you finally spoke up to cut them off.

“prince rothbart isn't anything like that! he’s kind and studies more than any of you would! he would be a better ruler than any of you!”

yan!prince rothbart who maybe slowly starts to relish in your presence. you were one of, if not the first, to be on his side and want him to become king. after everything he’s put you through, you still want him as king. it was so dimwitted and simple. you were so dimwitted and simple. then why did you always make him seem so much lighter?

yan!prince rothbart who is still agitated how you followed him around like a lost duck everywhere he went. how you didn't understand anything about the land or policies, laws, politics, but it almost became therapeutic to him; his own little escape.

yan!prince rothbart who found himself slipping from his studies to escape with you. running away to the forest for a small picnic by the river, your laugh so elegant as animals would run to you and away from you. your teasing words as he pretended not to care if a hedgehog almost chopped off his finger echoed in his ears like a symphony.

yan!prince rothbart who wanted to spend more and more time with you. that is your job, after all. you should be more than willing to devote more time to him, whether it be sneaking off to help him find some berries or leaves or just a way to escape classes or studies.

yan!prince rothbart who decides that he should give something back to you after all these years of being by his side. specially brewed tea mixed with the finest wild honey and a scrumptious grayanotoxin. you would never need to be knowledgeable about the mad honey disease, as the common people called it. you’re just sick is all! the doctors can check, even if they find nothing.

yan!prince rothbart who has moved some of his studies to your cramped room. you don't want him in here? you don't want him to catch your little fever? he should be studying? oh, but he is studying. you're just here to keep him in high spirits! after all, it is so funny when you ask him what something means. just how could you not know what hunting laws indicate as a servant?

yandere!prince rothbart who is always the only one to serve you your favorite honey tea. it’s just so yummy, making you feel better! it’s not as if he’s the one holding you hostage in this bed with it! no, never!

yan!prince rothbart who once he is of age finally hears of who will be king or queen, finally snapping at you. everything imaginable is thrown at your cowering body. a teacup holding scalding tea goes first, shattering behind you, tea imprinting on the wall as a loud crash is heard.

“this is all your fault! if i had studied more and not spent so much time with you! you pathetic dumb little pauper! i should be king!”

yan!prince rothbart who hurried over to your twin-size bed, sitting down next to you, dipping the bed, cradling your weak frame in his arms. Whispers of sweet nothings resonated in your ear as he stroked your arm up and down. You’re always there; why should he not repay you by ruling over him? If you want to or not, of course, isn't up to you. If it ever was, it would never even be a question but a fact; that answer being no.

“my dear [y/n], this land no longer needs us. for now, be with me. stay by my side until i- no, we shall rule this forest.”

Station 19 6x17

After the beautiful slow build-up over 6B, I’m glad to see this step forwards for Maya and Carina. For everything we’ve seen, the romance and the re-connecting, there’s still that doubt in Carina’s mind that she comes second to chaos. I think that makes sense - because everything since Maya’s accident has been calm. It’s been hard, there’s been a lot of soul-searching for both of them, but life has been calm. Carina says it herself - she needs to know that Maya will still be this Maya when things don’t go her way, when there is chaos around them. 

So for Carina to finally see it is a big thing. To see that Maya has chosen her health and her marriage over her career is a big thing. “There’s something she wants more...” 🥰 Tbh, the scene with Ben and Ross felt awkward to me, not the acting so much but the writing. But it served its purpose and the locker room scene was sweet. 

Carina putting her wedding ring back on was a blink-and-miss-it moment. I didn’t expect a lot from it, but seeing it from less than three feet away would have been nice! But I do love the idea that Carina has been carrying her wedding ring around with her for the right moment when she feels ready to put it back on. ❤️

Maya carrying Carina through the door to their apartment? *Swoon*

As for Maya, good for her not wanting to join the captain’s race. I liked the conversation with Jack, I enjoy their friendship when it’s not complicated with sex or sperm. “You show up and allow for the possibility that you will meet someone who might some day matter to you. Just let life do its thing, don’t try to control it.” - look at that growth, that she’s now giving that kind of advice to someone else. ❤️

Maya caught on the scrubber made me laugh, it looked ridiculous. (Although how does Danielle look so good in the scenes afterwards? 😍)

I always love it when Peggy and Dayna show up, they’re so chaotic. Loved Ben’s “they’re your responsibility” to Carina and the whole “how bad is it?” “oh my god, I mean you’re ok, you look great” when the kid showed up injured. 😂 

I was glad to see Marsha back. I love the Jack and Marsha relationship, he needs a mother figure around more often. Also, the Jack and Lila scene made me so happy! I’ve wanted to see him find his foster siblings since we learned about them in season 3. The comment about Cal not remembering him felt odd, how does he know? It might be too much to hope that this part of his story continues and we see more of that relationship, but I’d like to. 

I enjoyed the Vic and Beckett scenes more than I thought I would - and that’s not to say I don’t have empathy for Beckett, because I do. Despite all he has done, it would be hard not to when someone is in such a dark place. But I mostly enjoyed them for Vic, watching her be smart, getting him to talk, persuading him to go back to rehab. The Crisis One aspect of the show has great potential to give Vic some more interesting storylines and I hope they use it next year.

I’m glad to see the show has evolved from season 1 so that when there’s a captain’s race between multiple lieutenants, they don’t get competitive and start arguing amongst each other... oh wait. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Fuck Bob for goading Andy and trying to ruin her chances of getting the captain’s role. 

Thank god Dixon didn’t win the mayoral race. I don’t understand the point of making him a series regular for season 6 but I hope he’ll be gone next year. (Let’s face it, his scenes are better when Kitty is there antagonising him!)

How is there only one episode left of this season? 😭

I need Johnny to be loved- here it is 💖

Johnny’s standing at the doorstep of Daniel’s apartment, eyes red and puffy, tears still streaming down his face. Sid kicked him out, almost hurt him before Johnny ran to the only place he knows: Daniel. He’d been knocking for a while, praying that somebody would answer.

“Daniel-san not home.” Miyagi comes up behind Johnny.

“I’m sorry. I’ll go then, just— don’t tell him I came by.”

“You do not look good. Come with me.” Miyagi takes Johnny down to his quaint little place. He sits him down and starts up some tea. Through Johnny’s still emotional state, he finally connects the dots. This is Miyagi, the old guy Daniel treats like a saint. He sees it now.

“Thank you, Mr. Miyagi. Sorry to bother you though.” Johnny sniffles as a cup of tea is brought to him.

“No bother. You are friend of Daniel-san, so you are friend to me too.” Miyagi sits next to Johnny with his own cup of tea. It’s relaxing. Johnny feels welcome.

“Feel better?”

“Kinda. I just– don’t know what to do. But now that I think about it, it’s stupid to have come here. Daniel wouldn’t want me here. I’m gonna go, maybe Sid will let me back in or something. I’m sorry.”

“No. You stay. If you need place to live you stay here. Daniel-san speak very highly about you. He will be home any minute.” Miyagi is a convincing guy, and Johnny stays. Part of him really does think about going back, trying to suck up to Sid again, but really he needs a safer home. Maybe Miyagi’s right, maybe Daniel would tolerate him living there.

And like magic, Daniel and his mother are home. Johnny hears it first, Daniel’s loud laugh, talking about something to his mother. Johnny feels a twist in his gut, suddenly nervous to show his face. Miyagi does it for him.

“Daniel-san! Your friend is here. He need you. Mrs. Larusso too.”

Daniel perks up immediately, like he does when he’s ready to fight, “Johnny?”

Inside, Johnny is gripping his cup of tea and holding his tears back; he doesn’t want Daniel to see him anymore.

Daniel runs in and immediately he’s at Johnny’s side.

“Hey man, what— what happened to you?” He can see the tears leaving tracks down Johnny’s cheeks, and he can’t stand it. He can’t have Johnny like this: hurt.

“Sorry.” Johnny can’t look him in the eye.

“Don’t be. Are you okay?” The worry in Daniel’s eyes is genuine. Johnny let’s everything go. The tears keep flowing and Johnny’s fighting to breathe through his sniffs. Daniel holds him close, and more hands come to hold him. Nobody pries at the situation, but he spews anyway.

“I don’t have anywhere to go. Sid– he almost… I can’t go back. I didn’t know what to do and you don’t have to let me stay but even if it’s just tonight I’d be so-“

“Johnny, you’re welcome as long as you like.” Lucille pulls Johnny’s head closer to her. Johnny can’t focus on anything but the touch he’s receiving, how welcoming it is and how much it feels like the family he’s never had but desperately needed.

“Are you sure?” Johnny chokes out, holding onto Daniel’s sweater and leaning into Lucille’s touch, all while Miyagi rests a hand on his shoulder comfortingly.

“Don’t think twice about it. We can work the finer things out later.” Daniel smiles. Johnny tugs on Daniel’s sweater.

“Yeah like clothes. Don’t think I can fit into yours.” He laughs, and Daniel smiles back with sincerity Johnny could never find anywhere else.

That night, wrapped in Daniel’s blankets, resting against his chest, Johnny feels safe. He’s welcome somewhere for once. He may feel guilty, but Daniel and Lucille are quick to put and end to it, because he’s one of them. (Lucille is exhilarated when Johnny and Daniel start dating. Young lawrusso wins)

(Miyagi also really loves Johnny too; he sees him like a son.)

Years later, Daniel proposes to Johnny on the same day Johnny planned on proposing to him (Daniel went ring shopping with Mr. Miyagi, and Lucille went ring shopping with Johnny—somehow they both kept their lips tight and didn’t tell each other about their sons’ plans), and Johnny practically jumped into Daniel’s arms when Daniel stood back up after he said yes, wrapping his legs around Daniel's waist, and kissing him meaningfully for a good minute, the ring Daniel got him shining on his finger, before steadying himself back up on his feet and getting on one knee in front of Daniel.

And one and a half years after that, Johnny turns over to look back at Daniel, who’s big spooning him in their bed, matching wedding bands comforting and snug around their fingers.

“What are you thinking about, LaRusso?”

Daniel hums contentedly. “Not much but you…LaRusso.”

Johnny smothers him in kisses.

Honestly, I've just completely checked out from the Twitter sphere and the commentary around f1. To a certain extent sports media is always rife with hit takes but there's so little going on this season that it seems like everyone is just picking fights with everyone to muster up engagement. Life's too short, I'll check back in to see if Ferrari gets it's shit together next year.

You're a stronger soldier than me 😭💪🏻 I know a few people who consciously took a step back from following F1 or at least don't follow as closely or intensely anymore, whether that's not keeping up with news and commentary or not watching most of the sessions and just occasionally catching a race if they can or whatever. On one hand I envy that kind of approach, but on the other I don't know if I could do it. 🤔

Idk maybe it's weird but I tend to operate on a basis of having one major hyperfixation/fandom at a time, with maybe some smaller interests more in the background. But once I'm into something I'm like 110% invested and so other stuff kind of starts going under the radar. I think for me to check out of F1 I'd have to have something equally compelling lined up as a replacement hyperfixation to eat at my braincells and so far I haven't found anything like that.

Although some part of me is kind of like, well, maybe if I did check out we'd finally get an interesting season, because I swear the best narratives and memorable seasons happen exactly when I'm in that stage of not watching or having an F1 hiatus 😭😭 I started watching in early 2015, from the very first race of the season, so literally just missed 2014 by a few months...then I checked out of the fandom and started watching more sporadically as the hype around Charles to Ferrari was happening in late 2018. Of course then I end up having a lot of regret and guilt over it, which leads to FOMO and this compulsion to keep watching just in case I miss something big again. 🙃

From a Ferrari/Charles POV it's definitely a rollercoaster from watching him be firmly in the championship fight at the start of 2022 to then Ferrari having another slump in form where they're realistically performing at the level of a midfield team, seemingly have no explanation for their problems, are in a year of messy transition, etc. You can say the same for the downgrade from 2019 to 2020, but the latter was a weird season in general and there were some extenuating circumstances. At least the season still felt fun and we had some surprising moments. That one weekend alone in Turkey was much more memorable for me personally than any of the races we've had so far in 2023, lol. But I do acknowledge that it's not a one-size-fits-all kind of thing and your enjoyment will largely depend on who you're supporting. If your guy is winning it all then ofc you're going to have a different perception of the season.

I think for me, I could even look past the Red Bull dominance, because it's not the first time we've had a basically guaranteed 1-2 (2015 and 16 especially were often criticised exactly for the predictability and repetitiveness on the podium.) But give us an element of surprise??? Some spice??? (Barcelona 2016 you will always be famous.) Where are all the compelling narratives??? Where are the tasty teammate pairings??? Ferrari's not providing much excitement when it comes to performance and results, but equally the lineup has very meh vibes for me. Plus the drivers that had become a staple of my F1 fan experience just not being there anymore (Daniel and Seb). In conclusion:
