The fact that in Movie!verse you actually CAN make a human being immortal by having them consume/subsume parts of Shadow.

Like in the games/comics, they TRIED THAT, and it doesn't work. Or it works enough to keep a dying person alive, maybe, but it's not the cure for death that Shadow was supposed to be. But in Movie!Verse, that's how they explain Gerald being 110 years old or whatever.

Kinda makes me even sadder that they decided to cut out Maria's terminal illness. I feel like there's pretty unique storytelling opportunities there, but all of them are probably too dark for what the movies are trying to do.
