Okay, this has probably been done a million times already but hear me out: Ive got an idea. For a story.

What if, one day, Dan wakes up, with an unusual headache. He gets up, but he is in a home he doesn't recognize. It's all his stuff, it all seems familiar but it seems wrong. First and foremost, because Phil isn't there.

He checks his phone, but he doesnt recognize most of the contacts. The names in his calendar dont ring anything.

He takes a google search, just, you know to make sure Dan and Phil exist? But he only finds the channel AmazingPhil, a kind of big youtuber with a million subscribers doing fun sketches every now and then.

The only search result for Dan Howell is the lawyer Daniel Howell who deals with financial sueings.

And Dan finds out, over the next hours, that in this universe he and Phil never met. He never had the guts to reach out and even tho he loved Phil's content they never talked. And now, coming from a world where they did, where Phil is his missing half, his partner in crime, his immortal turtle, he does everything to go back there and to find Phil in every timeline.

Ok so I’ve been seeing all the fanart of Sister Daniel and Blonde Phil and now it’s inspired me to write a fanfic about them! Here’s the plot so far! (Still in the works)

Phil is an angel who is sent by God to travel to Earth to recruit a mortal to fight demons who are living in disguise among humans and planning the downfall of humanity. Dan, a strip club employee whose stage name is Sister Daniel (whose name was misread from the Council of Heavenly-Earthly Affairs, as they thought he was a nun) is reluctant to join Phil in his task, but after a bit of persuasion, he obliges to prevent the coming of Armageddon. Throughout their journey, Dan and Phil begin to realize that their partnership is more than just a work relationship….

there’s a movie playing and dan can’t remember what it is, but he thinks he chose it. they’re on the couch together in the home they designed, thighs almost touching, in the way that feels more intimate than being pressed together. all these years later dan still feels most at home in his body when he is with phil.

phil’s lips— damn beautiful things— turn up at a joke onscreen. dan is 30 and 23 and 18 all at once. it’s what these liminal moments with phil do to him. phil. phil. phil. his brain supplies, with his arched nose and blonde hair. a microcosm of flesh and teeth and brain.

the tv glow flickers tendrils of tender light across the soft curve of phil’s cheekbone. his upper lip is chapped and uneven and so so lovely.

phil shifts and their thighs finally touch. his eyes dart to dan, jubilant. timid. alive.

you’re not even watching the movie. phil complains.

i love you dan says, because he is learning to say it more. because he has forgotten it can be thrown around lightly, if he wants.

phil laughs and the sound is like being 18 on a ferris wheel, like 2009, like gossamer and chat rooms and the way phil’s skin was so pale it turned blue under the glow of the fairy lights on Dan’s headboard.

I love you too but if you don’t start paying attention i’m picking the movie next time, Phil says and the words are supposed to be a threat but all Dan hears is a promise.
