hi i’m not much of one for sending stuff in but i’ve had an idea in my brain ab a poly yingxing x reader x dan fang where reader is short life who was also an artisan like Yingxing as well and dies after Yingxing and Dan Feng both banished and is reincarnated wayyyyy later but unlike dan heng, they accept themselves as both being themselves and also the person they once were, having memories of the past, dreaming of them both. they meet Dan Heng on the Express but Dan Heng makes it clear he has no interest in being close to them, wanting to separate himself from his past life (he does he’s just emotionally constipated).
So they respect his decision. but later they meet Blade by chance and Blade is more than accepting (in his own way, he’s also a constipated weirdo as well, and he’s a little coo coo for coco puffs), and after some time and lots of thinking they end up leaving the express and joining the stelleron hunters to help Blade meet a permanent end because they blame themselves for not stopping Dan Feng and YingXing for their stupid ass decisions.
the rest is up tew yew ☺️ KDHAKD I HAVE SO MANY THOUGHTS AB THEMMMM like my brain,,, it swirls 👁️_👁️
Tumblr media
You are so real, they make the brain gears start working.
I never really considered a reader who died after they committed their sin 🤔 hmmm. Idk maybe bc I think Dan Feng and Yingxing would never abandon their spouse? I cant really comprehend them willingly abandoning their beloved spouse? Your ideas sounds really good but that part really made me think ngl. I think the only way for reader to die after they were exiled is if that reader was brought back to life bc of their actions but died again due to either many factors such as other wars or old age.
As for the reincarnated part, yeah sounds legit tbh. Dan Heng being emotionally constipated and rejecting reader as a way to reject his past is very on brand of him. Even if he does ahve genuine feelings for reader, he thinks it's Dan Feng's lingering love for his spouse.
Blade being a lot more accepting is also very on brand of him if u look past his mara stricken rages. Bladie is pretty chill but at the same time is a weirdo. Alexa play I'm a creep by radiohead. Blade thinks hes being normal but is very obviously not lmao. He probs no longer want to be called Yingxing but just as Blade or Ren.
Reader leaving the express to help Bladie meet his permanent end while Bladie learns to love again and Dan Heng pines from afar is the kind of kdrama angst I wanna see tbh
The self loathing/blaming omg yes, especially if they are the reason why their idiot husbands did what they did, no wonder reader wants to make amends.
When you're in a toxic throuple competition and you see RenHengxReader lmaooo
The ending to this story could be RenHeng and reader make amends and be a throuple again until their life ends and Elio finally gives Blade his permanent end. Dan Heng is left behind to reincarnate and forget about them. Maybe in another life, they'll meet again.
This was such a rollercoaster ngl.

the dawn knight in place of yuu
MAJOR JP BOOK 7 SPOILERS
(anyway i like calling him the knight of dawn but also thats too many words for a name im going to be repeating a lot throughout this post so dawn knight)
okay so. i was thinking about a fic to write where a character had a part of themselves appear somewhere else? like ive been getting into omniscient reader but i have a diff story im trying to commit to rn so i cant really write something with it when i dont really know shit that happens besides like end game spoilers lOl
but i find the idea of like the 49/51 (?) interesting? i think thats the right numbers. no context to people who dont know what that means but that part broke me even though all i know about omniscient reader is by reading a shit ton of orv fanfiction. my heart man... sob.
but so anyways my mind wandered to the dawn knight
kudos to that like one fic where the dawn knight's soul appeared and attached itself to yuu except i read it when i didnt even know who he was but i thought maybe he was a buddy of lilia so im just reading and getting confused on like no why you no like lilia what (also he doesnt remember iirc and i think that was just like a instinctual feeling cause yknow humans vs fae??) but uh i know context now lMFAO
but like
just imagine this person who looks like silver but blonde. who doesnt remember who he is (as hes kind of more of just a fragment of his soul? but like he appears in NRC and not RSA because he still has a lingering attachment towards silver. wanting to see him grow because he never got the chance to)
who worries over silver
is a little nervous around fae, but maybe this is ooc but like without all the pressure from what the fuck was his name henrik(??) and like the people around him who are all anti-fae, cause he wouldve liked it if they couldve been in peace and stuff yknow? and also without those memories so its not too difficult for him to get past that and see them as people who will probably not harm others (LOOK i just want twst characters to be happy man cause everything is so sad :((( )
anyway lilia has grown since then and doesnt hate humans. maybe he doesnt exactly know how to feel about the dawn knight (UM like cause meleanor. or is it maleanor? i think thats EN spelling but tbh if not for en i wouldnt know how tf to spell it. but uh ykNOW.. he kinda. uh. still killed.)
but then maybe it becomes clear that this dawn knight (who needs an actual name. dawn sounds too on the nose and i dont think lilia associates dawn with positive feelings considering when maleanor died didnt it turn dawn or something. and then they broke down because shes DEAD.???)
is not the same dawn knight he met so long ago.
like
idk
think about it in like a. okay im pulling out honkai star rail examples now. but think of it maybe like dan feng and dan heng where they're like reincarnations of each other? but not the same person? (some people think of them as still the same considering i think(? its been a hot minute since i went through story) those memories of those reincarnations are then shared to other incarnations to help them in high elder duty thingy whatever its called but i think of them as entirely different people who happen to look similar)
i guess you could view it as a 'i once was [this], but now im this and im not the same person who did all those things'
EDIT: I AM WRONG. 2.5 spoilers but its mentioned that someone made dan heng remember his past life so its NOT canon that they remember their past life. "...led her to perform certain healing arts on Dan Heng, who had just finished his hatching rebirth, so that he would regain the memories of his past life?" but anyway thats how it turned out so uh just pretend that i mean reincarnating/past life type deal but stlil having some of those memories of the former life
idk maybe theres some lilia treating him as another son since like. all three of them are orphans who were taken in???? like its implied parallel of lilia being taken in by the mal... dRACONIA family sorry i forgot the last name om. and the dawn knight being taken in by the whoever is in charge. like the dad of henrik(?) and that person whose name i cant remember i think it was leah who the dawn knight liked and married? but so anyway they both got taken in by a family and owe them a debt and fight for them (and care for them. although idk about henrik ew, but he was also like. wanting princess glow(???) which could supposedly grant wishes i think to like cure their ill father, and saying that the dawn knight should do it for leah or something? i cant remember but he convinced him with something something leah)
i dont know where im going with this thought but like. i remember the dawn knight said something like. if things could be different? but like it cant be because they've gone too far now to forgive each other? but like he wanted there to be peace.
i remember thinking about lilia's wish in the wish upon a star event, maybe it was similar i cant recall exactly
Tumblr media
Lilia: My wish is... ...for humans, fae, and all other species to live in harmony. [Img of the wishing star] Trey: Haha, wow. That's a pretty ambitious wish. Lilia: To join joyous hands with one another is no simple feat, even for those among the same species... To say nothing of the difficulties across species divides. You've learned about our history, have you not? All the countless tales of our failure to compromise, and the resulting conflicts? I have no desire to see such history repeated. So I make the same wish every Starsending.
like the dawn knight expressed regret that it had to be this way and wanted things to change but it was far too late. but like. he never did that stuff now (well lilia will remember so poor grandpa but. he's also been really forgiving towards humans when doing it for someone? like he endures it? like when he was searching for a way to hatch malleus and these people were really against lilia for being fae when he just existed, and he didnt fight back because it would paint a bad picture for the draconias? there was another example related to silevr but i cant remember it im. not what i was thinking about but theres also when he contemplated killing baby silver but changed his mind because he'd been trying to teach malleus to like. 'walk in time with his neighbor' and so and so and i forgot what he said but that how could he do that when he should be like setting an example for malleus or something right?)
also silver learning who his parents are in a maybe less traumatic way (like NOT running away knowing malleus' mom might die and then oh shit the ceiling collapsed and IS THAT THE ENEMY oh god please dont let malleus' egg be hurt and then he shares the same face as me? and that ring-- cue silver hating himself and being dragged in by darkness and i am just sobbing my eyes out like no silver he loved you so much :((( )
and even if lilia still holds anything against the dawn knight. still has lingering feelings even towards this not-dawn knight. that he wouldnt want to condemn the dawn knight, and then have silver condemn himself for being of that blood even though he didnt even do anything yknow?
and then when lilia dies he can meet up with the ghosts of maleanor and raverne (is that spelled right? i genuinely cant remember the EN spelling but it was something like that. uhh.??) and i know thats sad but i want lilia to be able to spend more time with maleanor and raverne too yknow? but im not sure how to do that
maybe. like the. the the . council? i cant remember its name fshuidfh but those assholes who appeared when we made it to. blackscale(?) castle... ? i. forgor. maleficia(THATS GRANDMA RIGHT?? i get so confused by who is who in draconia) castle??
but like when we get there with malleus' egg and then maleanor dies
and theres just these voices of long dead old geezers who are bitches to lilia and i hate them and i dont know how they're still there and can talk but i dont want maleanor there because they're horrible. also they literally said her sacrifice was like noble or some shit like that and im just like BITCH- (also lilia is banned from the capital or something isnt he?? like i mean he can still visit the castle. but secretly. but still :( )
so i just think.
fully getting over stuff. heart demons. talking things out. lilia gets to talk about stuff for the first time in awhile (remember when like literally no one talked about the circumstances regarding malleus' birth or something so silver and sebek just had no idea what they were getting into??? and like i guess he could talk to baul? baur? idk which one is the one on EN i forgor. but idk man.)
not-dawn knight being a really good listener. being understanding, sharing his input where appropriate. and like he also gets some of his memories which put a lot of things into proper context. and so sharing thoughts of so and so. and just. basically this talk that spirals into moving on.
sharing frustrations, sharing things that never really got to be known.? like regrets, etc etc
since i think the last time they met was when silver father reveal, and time passed and he died so its just all these lingering things that never got to be said out loud for various reasons. like maybe because company is against so and so so to say something would be like idk maybe traitorous? i dont think thats the right word but words are hard and i keep forgetting words the moment i need them
its like. the unique point of view of talking about things between former enemies. like how they viewed things, etc etc
and then when lilias lived a full life, no regrets, he meets maleanor and raverne in the afterlife.
oh yeah also about his dorm i have no fucking idea. i honestly mostly forgot what each dorm represents but either ramshackle or diasomnia, which i know is like nobility or something? but anyway dawn knight married a princess, also i associate diasomnia with fae / briar valley which is related considering hes book 7 stuff so im pushing him there anyway
or maybe the mirror cant read him because his soul is fragmented. or maybe retcon and his soul isnt like that? idk but i like to think the other part of his soul is in the afterlife with his wife yknow? and eventually silver will be there and able to meet his mom and huggies, and acknowledging that these are who his parents are, but also that lilia is also his parent and the one who raised him yknow? there can be more than two parents in my eyes.
its just that his soul is like in half because of the part of him that wants to have seen silver grown. i think i said this earlier in the post but that since the last time he saw silver was as an infant (also he had blonde hair so-)
also wasnt infant silver asleep for like hundreds of years until it was either because someone who loved him came by (lilia) or because the spell finally wore off (which is what lilia thinks. i dont know where to put my two cents at tbh of which i think is right)
so dawn knight just sitting there in the afterlife like. ..man. my childs still not here. i mean. thats a good thing that they're not dead but like. i kinda wanna see them.
or well silvers the only one so i should be saying he but gidfhuj
also it was either leah or leia i am a dumbass? maybe leah was the EN one. idk i forgot.
anyway thats enough yapping for me

Avencae soulmate au
Or more like unconventional soulmate au. I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with the soulmate trop. One the one hand, it's cute and who doesn't like the idea of someone made for you. On the other hand, I think it's so much more incredible when you choose each others despite the universe not matching you together. Which is why my favourite soulmate trop is one where they are actually not soulmate. So here we are.
Avencae + Dan Heng angst (by now you must have realised that I love to make him suffer. I love Dan Heng, but I also love to hurt him 😈)
In the universe, soulmates exist, but not everyone has a soulmate. While it's not rare, it's uncommon enough that people just tend to live their lives without thinking too much about it. People recognise their soulmate the moment they meet, an instinctual feeling.
All high elder has a soulmate, so Dan Heng knows he has one. Dan Feng's had been Blade, but that didn't mean he was Dan Heng's. When he meets Cae for the first time, he knows he is his soulmate.
At first, Dan Heng is just happy it wasn't Blade. But as he got to know Cae better, he really developed feelings. Which wasn't surprising since it's common knowledge that soulmates are always romantic. Dan Heng and Cae never talk about their soulmate bond (but Dan did tell the astral express crew), and pretty much act like close friends. But the fact that soulmate always ends up together is also common knowledge. They're just taking their time, and Dan is very pleased with a slow courtship.
The thing is, Cae never felt the soulbond. The first time he met Dan Heng, he felt nothing special (maybe the Stellaron hid the bond, or maybe he literally destroyed it. Once one recognise their soulmate, the bond is not felt again until the bonding ceremony is held). People also tend to forget that Cae was born yesterday, he doesn't know all this common knowledge. And while he does learn about it later, since he doesn't recognise any of the signs of having a soulmate in himself, he just assumes he doesn't have one. And that's that.
On the opposite side of the high elder of the Vidyadhara, Avgins never have soulmates. It is the gift of their goddess, so they can choose to be with whoever they want. This is a blessing Aven never resented to have. The tragedies of his life would have been worse had he had a soulmate. And now that he had experienced wearing chains, he had no wish to shackle himself with the destiny's chains. If he were to be with someone one day, it would be on his own terms. His own choice.
And that is exactly what happens with Cae. At first, he is just curious about the Stellaron bearer, and he will fit in his plans. But as they start to know each other, as they become closer, Aven start to fall more and more.
Cae also finds himself endeared to Aven. They are not so different, he finds. Both are struggling to fight the road that seems to be paved for them, with little success. They have both a strong opinion about free will and making their own choices. He also cannot deny he likes the attention and the gifts. People do tend to give him things, but it's often miscellaneous items, or something they had. He treasures all of them, but having gifts especially bought for him. With HIM in mind when selected. It makes him feel things.
There is also a part of him that is thrilled by being the only one Aven is so open to. Even if Ratio and Topaz might know many of the things Aven confess to him. Cae know Aven wouldn't have admitted them as easily to them.
Dan Heng see the both of them getting closer but doesn't say anything. He knows Cae isn't the kind of person to cheat, but he still feels a tinge of unease. Until the day he enters Cae's room and find Aven and Cae kissing. He is so shocked he turns away without them noticing him.
But later, he confronts Cae in the archives. He is angry. He asks Cae how ge could do this to him. That he wasn't that kind of person. Cae is very confused and worried. He has no idea why Dan Heng is angry with him kissing Aven. Queue Dan Heng talking about their soulmate bond and Cae being like... What bond?
Time stop.
Then the explanations. Dan Heng realising that their slow courtship wasn't a courtship at all. That Cae was his soulmate, but he might not even be Cae's. That Cae loves someone else.
While Cae has to come to terms with the fact he is someone soulmate. His best friend's soulmate, who saw him as more than a friend.
Both parts, needing space to think on their own. Cae is lost. He doesn't want to talk with the crew, they were apparently all waiting for him and Dan Heng to get together.
The thing is, Cae had a similar view of soulmate as Aven. He didn't want a higher entity to tell him with who to be with. It's to close to the scripts he keeps following unwillingly. He loves Dan Heng, of course he does. But not like that, never like that. And he genuinely likes Aven. Their relationship is all new. It was their first kiss that Dan Heng spied. But he can't imagine not being with him.

Hello nim!! I'm truly happy for your 500 followers milestone! Since I'm also currently obsessed with honkai star rail, please consider writing a fic with "discovery theme" with lee jingyuan and ler danheng! Since danheng's memory has been "reset", It'll be fun if he "discover" what tickles is (probably from march/trailblaizer... or yanqing doing it to jingyuan), and since he's curious, he tries it on jingyuan.
I hope this idea is good!! Have a good day!
The Dragon's Lesson
Honkai: Star Rail - Dan Heng x Jing Yuan
Tumblr media
[500 Followers Milestone Event - "Discovery"]
A/N: Hii anon, thank you so much for your support, heheh. I tweaked a little bit the prompt, so I hope you don't really mind it. I had a reaaally hard time trying to figure how to write this pairing out, but It turned out quite nicely... I think. Anyway, I hope you like it, hehe ~
Summary: After spending some time with the general, Dan Heng finds out something pretty interesting after engaging in one of his games
Word count: 1702 words
Tumblr media
“Are you sure you don’t want to come with us?” March 7th pouted, crossing her arms while Caelus and Welt stood behind her, waiting for Dan Heng’s answer. After the latest events in the Xianzhou Luofu, the crew was finally able to catch some rest before departing to the next destination. And, thanks to the insistence of the general and the master diviner, Welt suggested they should, indeed, spend some more time around. But…
“Yes,” Dan Heng said with a slight smile, looking down before he resumed speaking. “There are a few things I need to take care of and… I’m not sure how welcomed it would be if I walked around the Xianzhou looking like… this,” he muttered, knowing very well how much he resembled a certain person.
The girl was ready to nag him some more, but feeling Welt’s touch in her shoulder, March decided to let it be. “Alright, just call us if anything happens, ok?” The man said, looking at the other two, “let’s get going, then, the ms. Fu Xuan wouldn’t like it if we showed up late.”
Slowly waving his hand, Dan Heng said goodbye to the members of the Astral Express as they walked out the room. It was a large, fancy place, requested by no other than the general himself to accommodate their honorable guests.
The general…
Dan Heng let out a sigh when Jing Yuan’s figure occupied his mind. He wasn’t sure how to feel about him yet, nor what kind of relationship his past self used to have with the general, but it wouldn’t be right to say that there was no feeling at all. It was just… uncertain.
Letting himself get lost in a turmoil of thoughts, one after the other, Dan Heng was caught off guard when someone suddenly knocked on the door. Shooting his eyes open, the vidyadhara turned his attention to the door, as whoever was on the other side knocked again. “Just a second,” he voiced, walking over. “Who’s there?”
He could feel the hesitation on the other side, letting the silence take place for a few seconds before the other person would finally speak. “Did I come at a bad time?” A male voice chuckled, making its identity clear.
Opening the door, Dan Heng was met with the general friendly gaze. A warm, but contained smile formed on his lips. “Not at all, general, but… do you need something? May I be of help?”
“Ahaha, there is no need for such formalities between us,” Jing Yuan said, shaking his head, “I was just hoping I could invite you for a walk. The gardens have been somewhat… lonely lately and I’d love to hear more about you.”
If Dan Heng’s tail was visible at that moment, Jing Yuan would be able to see it wagging in excitement.
“Ah… sure, it would be a pleasure.”
Taking a step back, Jing Yuan gave the other some room to step out, closing the door behind him before starting to walk side by side with the general. Dan Heng was still confused, not able to figure out exactly how he felt towards Jing Yuan and, even more, if those were his or Dan Feng’s feelings.
As they arrived in the gardens, Dan Heng couldn’t help but feel a sense of familiarity towards that place, but, at the same time, curiosity to walk deeper into it.
“You- I mean, Dan Feng used to come here often,” Jing Yuan said from behind, hoping to not disturb the other’s experience, “well, at least when Yingxing wasn’t around, hahah.”
Gently lifting a flower from the ground to feel its scent, Dan Heng let out a small chuckle hearing the other’s mistake. An habit that at first annoyed him, but, after spending more time with the general, he began to find it more amusing. “I see… and I suppose this was where you met him the most? What else did you two used to do when he came over?”
The general sighed in contempt, shaking his head as he chuckled softly. “It all used to happen when I was younger, hahah. Youll have to apologize to me, but this old man’s head isn’t as good as it used to be back then.”
Dan Heng arched his eyebrow, turning his attention back to Jing Yuan, who was fondly smiling at him. “If you don’t wish to share it, general, there is no need to lie to me,” he pouted lightly, to the level where it was almost unnoticeable.
“I’m not lying,” Jing Yuan insisted, raising his hands in front of his chest. Dan Heng sighed, he didn’t seem to want to push the matter further, having a bad feeling about it, but he couldn’t help but feel a little upset. “I swear I can’t remember, don’t be mad ~” Jing Yuan mused as he walked over, watching the Vidyadhara Elder slightly turn his face away.
“You are acting just like Yanqing when I turn his spar requests down,” the general teased, noticing how Dan Heng insisted on treating him with silence. “If you keep this up, I’ll have to treat you like I treat him, then.”
Dan Heng needed to keep looking away, otherwise Jing Yuan would be able to see his lips curling into a smile as well. This playful approach of the general enticed his curiosity even further, making him wonder what he had up his sleeve.
Then, before he could wonder about Jing Yuan’s next step, Dan Heng felt a pair of hands attack both his sides, gently squeezing the spot. Letting out a surprised - and embarrassingly loud - squeal, Dan Heng quickly moved away from the general, turning back to him with an annoyed look. "What was that about?!"
"Oh, so you were listening to me, huh?" Jing Yuan laughed, wiggling his fingers menacingly towards Dan Heng. "But it seems you are pretty sensitive…"
"Don't you dare, general. Or I-"
"Or you what, Dan Heng? Come on, it's just a little tickling…" He took one step forward, making the other take one step back, trying to keep the distance between them the same despite Jing Yuan`s attempts to get closer.
"Or I will tickle you," Dan Heng said, not thinking properly before snapping back at the general. Those words, however, only seemed to amuse Jing Yuan even further, making his grin grow larger. There was no way he was letting such a discovery slip through his fingers like that.
"Oh? You'll tickle me?" He continued in a defiant tone, trying to read through him. If it was Dan Feng, he would be sent flying away in a blast of water for trying such a thing. But Dan Heng? He was pretty sure he could beat him in this kind of fight.
Tired of waiting, Jing Yuan decided to make the first move, reaching out his hand towards the other man. However, as he was merely inches away from Dan Heng, the general could only catch a glimpse of his tail moving in a defensive manner, landing a heavy - but not so strong - strike against his middle, enough to tackle him to the ground.
Letting out an audible grunt when his back hit the gardens’ ground, Jing Yuan could only let out a chuckle. “Sorry, sorry, I didn’t mean to ann-”
“I warned you, general,” Dan Heng interrupted him, smirking as he sat down on the other’s lap, his nimble hands already finding their way to Jing Yuan’s waist, pinching the spot through the cloth in his way. “And it seems… you are also a little sensitive, hm?”
A crooked smile quickly formed on his lips as some panicked giggles escaped. Wait, was he for real? Was he actually fighting back like that? The general tried to hold his wrists and push him away, twisting his torso as he attempted to escape. “D-Dan Feheng, wait- ahaAH!”
A louder cackle escaped right before he could say something else. The vidyadhara gave him a stern look, shaking his head in disapproval. “That’s not my name, general, how many times do I need to tell you that I’m not him?” Dan Heng said, feigning annoyance as he dug a little harder on Jing Yuan’s sides.
But there was no doubt this wasn’t the former elder, not a single one. After all, Jing Yuan knew very well Dan Feng would never engage in his “foolish and childish” games. Maybe that was the reason why his reincarnation could catch him off guard so easily.
“S-sohohohorry! A-ahAHah, y-you can stohohop now!”
“Didn’t you say yourself that “it’s just a little tickling”?” Dan Heng mused with a smile, clawing at the general sides, making his laughter grow a little louder. If anyone from the Astral Express saw him right now, he wasn’t sure how he would explain himself - but it was just too early to stop.
With his legs immobilized under Dan Heng’s tail’s weight and his waist straddled, there was very little room for Jing Yuan to squirm - not to mention the fact that the other placed himself in such a way that he was sitting just out of the general’s reach, make it actually really hard (or impossible) to properly fight back the tickling. “I-I wahas wrohohong, Dan Heheheng!”
Jing Yuan pressed his eyes shut and laid his head back as he gave himself into the laughter, unable to do anything else other than hope to receive some mercy. “AhahAH, j-juhust quihihit it!”
Dan Heng slowly stopped moving his fingers, chuckling to himself. It was a rare sight to see the general laugh so carefreely, a much different sight from his usual self. “Guess Yanqing isn’t the only one that needs to learn… how to properly pick up a fight, huh?”
“A-ah, I suppose… I still have a few things to learn…” Jing Yuan sighed in relief, shyly giggling at himself. Just when he thought it was over, the general could feel the tip of the other’s tail tapping against his leg. Taken by curiosity, he opened his eyes, looking up to Dan Heng to be met with a mischievous grin.
“So… let’s see if you really learned your lesson, general.”
“Hah… surely, I look forward your teaching, Dan Heng.”

Chapter 5: City Meets Country
After ending a five-year relationship, you pour all your energy into work. Your latest assignment? Staying at a popular bed-and-breakfast to gather information. It should be a piece of cake... If only the owner isn't the man you scolded on the street.
Jing Yuan/You
Notes:
Cross-posted on Ao3
Female reader
Chapter index at the end of chapter one
"...Pretending to date, you say?” The woman sitting across from the detective looked him in the eyes. “What a bold move you’re suggesting, Detective.”
“It’s just empty words that’ll get you an invitation. You want to prove your innocence, don’t you?”
“Is this your sense of justice talking, or…” There was a curious glint in her eyes. “...Are your personal feelings getting the best of you?”
The detective quietly scoffed. “I am here to do a job. They say you’re guilty, but you say you’re innocent. We need more evidence.”
“...Innocent until proven guilty, is that it?”
“It’s what I’d like to live by.”
A loud honk makes Welt stop. He quickly takes a step back upon seeing the red stoplight. He’d been so engrossed in thinking about his book’s latest scene that he almost walked onto a busy street. He didn’t know why, but since he saw you and Jing Yuan walk into the stone villa, Welt was hit with an idea. And, throughout his walk, he’s been fleshing out the details.
When Welt woke up this morning, Dan Heng was reading on the couch while Dan Feng was on the balcony, enjoying the fresh morning air. As soon as he stepped inside, Welt asked, “March still isn’t up?”
“She wasn’t in her room,” Dan Feng said. “Texted her a bunch of times, and she said she’s on her way back.” He looked at his watch. “She should be back in… 3… 2… 1…”
The door opened, and March walked inside. “You’ll never guess who I bumped into!”
As she said she’d met you and Jing Yuan at the pool, Welt's phone buzzed with a message.
Can you get it done in the next two months?
Welt’s shoulders fell upon reading the message from his editor.
“Welt?” Welt looked up and saw his friends looking at him. March glanced at his phone. “Something wrong?”
“No. Just some spam text,” he said, slipping his phone into his pocket.
The light turns green, and as he crosses the street, he thinks back to the text. It’s been a few years since he changed from writing non-fiction to fiction, and it’s been a bumpy adventure. While he’d built a reputation writing non-fiction, writing fiction proved to be a challenge. There's no right or wrong in creativity or imagination, something that Welt finds exciting and frustrating. And while his book sales have marginally improved since he first started, it still feels like he's looking into a dark tunnel, one where no one has a solid answer of where to go. They just push him for deadlines. Can he outdo his last book? Will he succeed? Maybe his creativity just doesn't resonate with the market as much as he'd like.
He walks past a train station and sees you talking with a few tourists. By the time he walks up to you, the tourists are already leaving, and he can see the gears turning in your head.
“Hey.” You look up, surprised. He looks at the foreign tourists and back at you. “Were they asking for directions?”
“Nah. I was doing some research.”
“Research? Does that involve talking to random people?"
“Kind of. Sort of. Not really.”
“Well, I’d be interested in hearing more.”
As you and Welt walk down the street together, you tell him about the reason you're here. But so far, you’re still coming up a little empty.
“Some tourists have been wishing for more hotels,” you say. “It’s strange.”
“It's a good question, and it’s something I noticed, too.”
“Sounds like you have insights to share.”
“Nothing that I think would be useful,” Welt says with a sheepish grin. “You know who you should talk to?” The little smile on his face gives you a hunch. “Jing Yuan.”
And you’re right.
“...Because he grew up here?”
“That’s right. There’s no one better to ask.”
Well, you might as well make the most of his fake boyfriend status. But…
“How long have you known Jing Yuan?” you ask.
“We met when he was still getting the B&B off the ground. So, it’s been about eight years? But, the funny thing is, we went to the same grad school, and we never knew.”
Grad school… Now, you’re curious. What did Jing Yuan study? Was he already thinking about opening a bed and breakfast? Was he already married?
“Both of us were there on a scholarship,” Welt continues. “I don’t know if you know but he was a corporate guy before he started this business. Director of Operations at an IT company.”
“...I don’t know if I should call him crazy for leaving a cushy job or…”
“...Or admire him for his courage?”
“I think both.”
“They say crazy people create history.”
You remember Jing Yuan’s bold move to kiss your cheek. “...He truly is a man full of surprises.”
Welt chuckles. “Sounds like someone’s fond of him now.”
“That’s—”
A loud sob interrupts you, and then, “Yanqing hit me!”
You and Welt stop and look at each other upon hearing the familiar name. To your left, there’s an elementary school. Without thinking, you and Welt enter the front courtyard, and you see a small group of kids gathering around Yanqing and a young girl about his age. Her long white hair is in a ponytail, and her reddish-pink eyes look anxious and scared. Yanqing is standing in front of her but he’s facing a larger boy who’s crying.
“What’s going on?” a woman walks towards the children and the larger boy runs to her.
“Yanqing hit me!” he cries.
“I…” When Yanqing looks off to the side, he gasps. “Auntie! Welt!”
The woman looks at you just as you and Welt come up beside Yanqing. "And you are...?"
Before you can answer, the boy frowns and glares at you. "Yanqing should apologize!"
Ignoring him, you put a hand on Yanqing's shoulder. "Do you want to tell us what happened?”
“...He was bullying Clara.”
“Is that true, Clara?” the woman asks, looking at the girl behind Yanqing.
“I didn’t say anything wrong!” the boy insists.
"You were making fun of her!" You hold Yanqing's hand, and his shoulders slowly fall when he looks at you. "...I'm not a bad person."
You affectionately pat his head while the woman says, “Let’s go inside, shall we?” Then, she looks at you. “Are you his aunt?”
You and Welt glance at each other. “Um, well—”
“Yes,” Yanqing answers, and you look at him. Then, quietly, “...I don’t want Dad to get called in when he’s so busy.”
The woman leads all of you inside the school and into the empty classroom, away from the prying eyes of the other kids.
“...Clara, do you want to tell us what happened?” the woman asks.
Clara is fidgeting when she looks down. “...Yanqing didn’t hit him.” You see the intimidating gaze of the boy. So, you stand in front of him, blocking her from seeing him. “...But, he did push him.”
“See!” The boy steps in front of you.
Welt frowns. “Let her finish.”
Clara looks at the boy and says, “But it was because he was bothering me.”
“What did he say?” the woman asks.
“I didn’t—”
You shoot him a look, and the boy crosses his arms.
Clara was building a sandcastle in the sandpit when she felt someone behind her. She turned and saw a larger boy who was looking at her with a curious but distasteful look.
“Is it true that you have two moms and no dad?” Feeling uncomfortable, Clara stood, but before she could walk away, he quickly blocked her path. “It’s just a question.”
“...Leave me alone.”
The boy frowned. “What? Are you embarrassed because it’s true?” Yanqing, who was walking by to play on the swings, overheard the question. “Who’s your dad?”
“I don’t have one,” Clara said quietly.
“What? I couldn’t hear you.”
Yanqing stopped, noticing how uncomfortable Clara looked. Then, he looked at the boy. “Stop bugging her.”
He glared at him. “It’s none of your business.”
Yanqing glared back. “She’s uncomfortable!”
“I was just asking her a question.”
Yanqing walked toward Clara and extended his hand. “Let’s go play on the swings.”
“Hey!” The boy rudely forced Yanqing to look at him, and Yanqing acted on instinct.
Soon, the boy was on the ground, his palm scratched by the concrete.
The woman sighs. “Apologize to Clara.”
“Why?” he challenges. “It’s not like I did anything wrong.”
“But you did,” you say, frowning. “You made her feel uncomfortable.”
“Who asked you, old woman?”
Before you can say anything, the woman sternly says the boy’s name. “Apologize. Or, I’m calling your parents.”
The boy mutters, “Sorry,” without looking at you or Clara.
Once that's over and done with, you and Welt strike up a conversation with the woman who you now know as Yanqing's teacher. Turns out Yanqing's taking summer classes at the same elementary school Jing Yuan once went to.
By the time you and Welt are ready to leave, a loud bell rings throughout the school, signalling the end of recess. The kids are filing in and heading toward their respective classrooms. You and Welt are standing outside the staff room with Yanqing and Clara.
The young girl shyly looks at Yanqing and says, “Um… Thank you for what you did.”
“We’re similar, so… I can kinda understand how you feel,” Yanqing says with a smile.
“Similar…? Ah…!” You can see the lightbulb in her head go off. “You’re the one with two dads…”
“It’s a good thing!” Yanqing has his fists clenched in front of him as if eager to communicate his point. Then, with a soft smile, he says, “It doesn’t matter as long as they care about you.”
“Yanqing! Clara! Time for class!”
Clara is the first to leave, though it looks like she wants to wait for Yanqing. But, he turns to you and Welt and makes a gesture for you to crouch.
“...Could you keep what happened today a secret?” he asks quietly. A sigh. “I know pushing is wrong…”
“You just don’t want Jing Yuan to lecture you,” Welt says.
“Maybe…”
“I don’t think you should keep it from him,” you say. "But… I know you feel uncomfortable. So, I’ll keep your secret.”
“Really?” Yanqing’s eyes are shining.
“He’ll find out either way,” Welt says. “Jing Yuan's quite perceptive.”
The boy’s shoulders fall, but before he can say anything else, you see the teacher peek out from the classroom.
“Go to class,” you say. "We won't say anything."
Yanqing pouts but gives you and Welt a quick hug, and then he runs off toward his classroom.
◆◆◆
“Yo.” Jing Yuan is on his lunch break in the restaurant downstairs of the stone villa when he hears a familiar voice. Dan Feng pulls out the chair in front of Jing Yuan and jokingly asks, “Seat taken?”
“You’re alone?”
“March ditched us. As for Dan Heng”—Dan Feng rolls his eyes—“he wants to relax and spend his time reading today.”
“And Welt?”
“Can’t reach him. He’s been gone for a while. But—”
The buzz of his phone interrupts him. Once he pulls it out of his pocket, Dan Feng chuckles. “Well, speak of the devil.”
Jing Yuan takes another bite of his noodles just as Dan Feng says your name, making Jing Yuan look up. “They’re together." Jing Yuan almost chokes and quickly leans back to compose himself. Dan Feng laughs. “They bumped into each other in town. That’s what I meant.”
A small cough. “I see.”
Dan Feng puts an elbow on the table and slightly leans closer. “What’s your relationship with her, anyway? What were you two talking about earlier today?”
“Someone’s curious,” Jing Yuan deadpans.
“Well, yeah! Is she a friend…? Or…?”
“Yes.” A small pause. “...And I’m helping her with some things.”
“...Some things? Like what?” When Jing Yuan goes back to eating, Dan Feng rolls his eyes. “What’s with the secrecy?”
Jing Yuan wipes his mouth with a napkin and puts it neatly to the side. Then, he puts his arms on the table. “Why are you so curious about her?”
“Because it looks like you’re interested in her, and it’s been a while since you showed interest in anyone. So, of course, I’m curious!” Dan Feng gently taps his phone on the table. “Plus, she’s kinda cute, too.”
Jing Yuan thinks back to when he first saw you protecting his cousin. He found you frustrating, even more so when you took his phone and demanded him to pay for the spoiled cake. But that was when he got a good look at you. Was it inappropriate that he found you physically attractive?
He never expected to meet you again at the restaurant that night.
The look on your face told him that something was weighing you down, which he later concluded was your ex. Jing Yuan thought about interfering when he saw your ex preventing you from closing the taxi door. But he weighed his options and decided to wait and see. Then, when he saw that look of exhaustion on your face in the taxi, it was like looking into a mirror.
He saw his old self.
“A bed and breakfast?”
Jing Yuan and his wife were sitting at the table for dinner that evening when he brought up the dream he’d had since graduate school. He’d never spoken about it to anyone, even his wife whom he’d known since college. This was his little secret, something personal that he didn’t want to share until he was sure he wanted to go through with it. And, after countless weeks of thinking, he didn’t want any regrets.
“Xianzhou’s been budding as a popular tourist destination,” Jing Yuan said. “...It would be great to go back and—”
“...But, there’s nothing there.” Jing Yuan–chopsticks in hand—was reaching for some food on a plate. But, he stopped and looked at his wife with mild confusion. “Don’t get me wrong, Jing Yuan. Xianzhou is beautiful, but… there’s really nothing there. No technological advancements. No flourishing economy… Why would you want to go back?”
Should Jing Yuan be surprised? Probably not. His wife had grown up in the city; she was a city girl who never showed any interest in the countryside besides a vacation to escape the busy city life. But living there? Out of the question. Jing Yuan should’ve known.
Jing Yuan put his chopsticks down. “I grew up there, and… I’ve always wanted to start a business.”
She put her hand on top of his. “...But, didn’t you promise me we’d be starting a family? Don’t tell me you’re going to run off and start your little business and leave me to take care of the baby.”
“No. Of course not. That’s not what—”
“You just got promoted too.” She sighed. “Let’s stick to what we planned.”
Jing Yuan knew his wife would be against the idea, but he’d been hoping for open communication. Instead, she wasn’t even looking at him anymore but at an article on her phone about preparing for your first baby.
And that was just the beginning.
“Hey.” Dan Feng taps the table. “You listening?”
Jing Yuan’s phone buzzes, and he quickly takes it out. After taking a glance at the work email, he slides it back into his pocket. Then, he looks at his friend and says, “It’s true I’m interested in her.”
Dan Feng lets out a low whistle. “Haven’t heard you been this direct in a while either. Kinda refreshing, if you ask me.”
“...But, we’ll see how things turn out.”
Dan Feng slowly nods as Jing Yuan finishes the rest of his food. “Keeping a level head as you pursue her, huh? A logical approach, as expected.”
Jing Yuan isn’t playing around, but he hasn't forgotten the pain of a broken heart. You’re a city girl, much like his ex-wife. Plus, he has Yanqing. That’s when it hits him. It’s been too long since he felt his heart race for somebody. He isn't thinking, and if not for this conversation with Dan Feng, he would not have realized that his head is off in the clouds.
“Oh, hey." Just as Jing Yuan neatly puts his chopsticks on top of his bowl, Dan Feng says, "Before you leave for your big boy meeting... We’re having a BBQ party tonight. If you’re not busy, come join us.” Then, with a little smile, he adds, “We’ll be sure to invite her, too.”
◆◆◆
You and Welt end up parting ways. With you looking to get more information, Welt had gone back to the bed and breakfast first.
“Hotels? Why would we want more of that here?”
That isn’t the response you’re expecting. You manage to strike up a conversation with some of the locals after ordering some food from a popular food stand. They are women in their forties or early fifties who run small businesses nearby.
“Seriously,” one of them says with an exasperated sigh. “All corporate people want to do is come in and control everything! If we let them in, they’ll be putting us out of business!”
“Right! Just like those punks a few years ago.”
Punks?
The women look at you. “Why are you asking such strange questions? Are you one of them?”
“Them? No, nothing like that,” you answer, even though you have no idea who they’re talking about. “I was just curious as it’s my first time here.”
A woman sighs. “We only need family businesses here. All of them corporate people and whatnot can stay the hell away.”
You know better than to generalize the opinion of just two locals, but the animosity is unexpectedly strong.
You’re mulling over the interesting thought when someone says, “Bar Girl?”
You recognize the voice. When you turn, Blade and Luocha are walking towards you.
“It’s not Bar Girl,” Blade corrects his friend as the men stop in front of you. “Jing Yuan calls her Corporal.”
“Corporal…? Huh… Thought he’d go with Sweetheart like he does everyone else.”
Everyone else…? It’s somewhat of a petty thought, but does Jing Yuan call every girl Sweetheart?
Luocha sticks out his hand. “I didn’t get a chance to properly introduce myself last time. I’m Luocha, and I’m a physician here.”
“You’re a local?” you ask, surprised.
A small chuckle. “Born and raised. What? Do I look more like a city boy to you?” He nods toward a street. “I run a clinic just at the end here.”
You take his hand. “I was just surprised, that’s all.”
“I hear you’re staying at Jing Yuan’s B&B,” he says with a small smile. “How’s that going?”
“Am I supposed to say I hate it?” you ask sarcastically.
“We can keep a secret.” Luocha nudges Blade. “Right?”
“This is Jing Yuan we’re talking about,” Blade says. “There’s no way he’ll provide anything less than excellence.”
“That’s quite a statement,” you say. “...But, so far… it is true.”
“Soundin’ a little glum, chum.”
“You’re thinking too much, Doc—ah!”
You almost stumble when someone pushes you while wrapping their arm around your shoulder. You aren't sure who to expect, but surely not March smiling at you.
“How’d you like the view this morning?” she asks.
“...View?”
She lightly pinches your cheek. “The view of a half-naked Jing Yuan.” Blade and Luocha glance at each other before looking at you as if looking for an explanation. March turns to them. “Jing Yuan graced us with his presence at the pool earlier today.”
“Sounds like a great time,” Luocha deadpans.
“You wish you were half the man he is.”
Luocha scoffs and puts a hand on his hip. “Someone sure is more talkative than usual.”
As March lets you go and continues bickering with Luocha, Blade sighs. “Here we go again.”
“Looks like all of you are close.”
“Close? I suppose that’s one way to put it.”
“My, I wasn’t expecting to see so many familiar faces.”
March and Luocha stop bickering at the sound of a woman’s voice. You look past them and see a tall, slender woman with pale hair and red eyes. There’s an elegance in the way that she walks that tells you she’s a no-nonsense woman.
Then, you hear Blade say a name, one that you don’t recognize. But it’s what he says after that takes you off guard.
“...That’s Jing Yuan’s mentor.”

Yanqing was my first and I love him to pieces but the lack of Welt Yang is starting to grate at me. One away from having full express crew... good luck and godspeed with your Hot Men pursuit, some of them are insufferable.
As someone who hateeees Liyue I expected to hate Xianzhou, but to my surprise I actually love the setup. It helps that their history is very relevant and actually comes up in the main quest, like - ages ago, they did a Masterful Fuckup, and their whole society now revolves around dealing with the fallout. It was nice, after Liyue's vageposting history and beliefs in market economy, where their gods are hilariously irrelevant to their daily life, to be able to say "ah, *this* is what these people believe and fight for". Helps that the aeons are npcs and as such Allowed to be fucked up, so both sides in the abundance vs the hunt fight have their points. And I find the subversion on wuxia tropes neat.
I share the "I wish I could skip this" sentiment though, the main quest was absolutely horrible.
I also find who Dan Feng was as a person and Dan Heng's feelings abt him as his reincarnation super interesting but like. So far the vidyadhara have by far the weakest story out of the xianzhou races (jiaoqiu HARD CARRIED the foxians there) and I know better than to expect anything. Finest Duel Under The Pristine Blue was a pleasant surprise, but Luminary Wardance was tedious as all hell and rife with missed opportunities (as much as I loved Yanqing throwing hands lol)
Out of all the minor quests you've triggered, have you done any of them? I think you'll like Arlan and Asta's companion quest :)
I haven't done any companion quests because I expect them to be longer, and tbh I am not planning to pay any attention. I do not care about the... vast majority of the characters, and I particularly feel like it's going to be a whole lot of minutia about their daily lives and/or irrelevant backstory. Which I don't really care to engage with.
On a basic level, I think that once you relegate things to "companion quest," that means this content is not important or interesting enough to be main story. It's a little bonus for people who care about these characters because they like them from the main story or like their designs. Since I don't care about the space station at all, I don't plan to read anything from these quests. Just like Genshin, I will set it to auto and do something else.
This sounds very mean, but Mihoyo destroyed any basic goodwill from me long, long ago.
In regard to Liyue and Luofu, I personally have a lot of... let's say reservation about anything that focuses on immortal or long lived characters. Once you make a character stick around for hundreds of years AND you love your lore, it's not a good combination. It gets convoluted fast, and you have to spend a lot of time very carefully maneuvering around why this character didn't deal with all the problems of modern day back in the past already. The easy answer is they couldn't, but if you want these characters to also be so totally cool for sure, it doesn't work out well. (Like wardance. Jing Yuan totally knew about Belobog's issues in the past but like, he was just too busy to do anything, but have a picture of him totally getting along with Igor.)
Additionally, I do not believe Mihoyo writers are capable of writing any kind of actual complexity in morals or viewpoints between characters.
And for every character that has a grain of interesting concept, they are surrounded by at least a dozen terribly executed ideas, so like... that's just not worth it.

(Hengfeng bleach anon) [important note: please answer this after you sleep or I am removing your dh pussy privileges!! Take care of yourself!!]
ooooohhh das incheresting....... I find it low-key ironic given lizards are coldblooded.... mb for the vidiyahara it's just their outer skin (scales) that feels cold to the touch but they're actually warm...... Hrmm also now I'm kinda self projecting but as a person who's body temperature is absolutely ASININE I definitely like that idea cuddling w loyal dragons.... I will dump them to the couch if they fight though LMAOOO. My hands and feet get easily cold like really super easy that it's annoying.... Oh to be warm and toasty bc of my two cuddly dragons..... ALSO HDJSJSJJSJS ITS FINE MAMA MAO
Horny posting is always appreciated and my brain always has Dan Heng having me bent over his knee and— [gets hit with Dan Feng's spear] okay I'll shut up now
(also I saw an image of Dan Feng and DHIL and normal Dan Heng tgth and legit my brain immediately went "oh yes five cocks for reader that pussy is never going to close" and I want to run laps around my house)
NOT MY DH PUSSY PRIVILEGES....I slept last night I'll sleep tn just please don't take him away 😔🙏🙏🙏
and LOL ya I understand why it's counterintuitive. to be clear I don't think I've ever heard specifically if cn dragons would be considered "cold" or "hot" (cn followers feel free to chime in?). they're associated with water and rain so I could easily expect the opposite. but they are definitely associated with yang and my horny brain truly just ran with that opportunity so I'm glad you're liking the idea :3c
also to your last point. I have a confession to make and ykw I have to put this under read more out of severe shame and disgrace actually
(cw.dubcon in the sex pollen kind of way, not a dark content kind of way)
so for that RIDICULOUS sim uni fic I have actually thought a lot about making it that EXACT scenario - there's a simulated dhil, a simulated dan feng, and actual human dan heng with you and they basically gangbang you while you and dan heng are under the influence of a sex pollen error code curio. it sounds so stupid but just aauuvdkjfeldjs level with me here. having to take care of dhil and df's cocks with your mouth and your hands. but it's not enough so suddenly you're in dhil's lap, your pussy struggling to take both of his lengths at once while your lips are wrapped around one of dan feng's cocks, your hand around the other.
and your boyfriend is just - sitting off to the side, trying to maintain some semblance of self-control, until you pull away from dan feng long enough to give him a confused, dazed stare. you're so far gone at this point, you don't even realize what's got him so hesitant when he clearly wants to touch you. "what are you doing, heng'er?" you ask. "come here. let me take care of you too."
and dan heng is trying so, so hard to fight the effects of the curio. but when he sees your pussy swallowing both of yyj's cocks, taking them just like how he trained it to—well. it would be unreasonable to expect him to hold back.

Hi there! So its been while since i last sent my ask. How are you aph? There seem to be a lot of posts, so im going to ask about the ones im interested about!
First, HI LIAN!!! I saw Lian and I LOVE THEM, They look so cool (btw great drawing btw) and i have so many questions!! 1. Is Lian a high elder? If they are, which ship are they from? (The high elders are the only ones who has visible dragon features, normal vidyadhara only have pointy elf ears) 2. Since they’re in erudition, What kind of research do they speacialize in? 3. WHAT IS THEIR BACKSTORY!!!
Second, why must you break my heart with Kaveh and his younger sibling like BRO. WHY YOU GOTTA BE LIKE THAT!!!!!!! God the angst is hard, but for some reason, i could see kaveh’s younger sibling getting along with wanderer because yk mommy issues and similar personality, although i think at first they didnt get along with wanderer hat guy since he injured Kaveh during the akademiya extravanganza thing and if they have similar personalities then they’re going butt heads with eachother. Still i think Wanderer can understand where kaveh’s younger sibling is coming from. Also am i wrong to say that Alhaitham might have inspired them to join Haravatat??? 👀
Third, uhhh so what happens if bots start following you? (Also how do you know its a bot?)
Hope you have a great day/night btw!
(have you gotten my other ask about a trope idea i had about Archilles heel and a HSR x reader idea? I hope you dont mind me asking that)
- 🐱 Anon
OOODHSKSH i love talking about lian. i told my boyfriend about them last night. he had no idea what i was talking about BUT he listened anyway 🫶🫶
hsr spoilers utc. some of lian's details are still being tweaked and edited, so certain things may or may not change!
yes! lian is a high elder. you know how dan heng... does not really care about his past incarnation and his high elder-ship in general? lian was always a "I Do Not Want This Job" high elder, in most if not all of their incarnations. they're from the xianzhou zhuming originally, but have spent the last few hundred years on the luofu. dan feng's silly ass got them thrown in prison LMFAO lian spent many incarnations serving as a retainer for other high elders since they weren't particularly interested in guarding one of yaoshi's artifacts or leading a clan of their own or succeeding another high elder, but they still had some kind of duty and obligation that they had to fulfill. so. they did it by being a retainer.
well. many incarnations went by, and who was the most recent high elder who they served under? that's right. imbibitor lunae dan feng.
the difference between dan feng's relationship with them and their relationship with other high elders is that he ended up being like some kind of strange older brother figure to them, because almost immediately following their self-incarnation, they were placed under him as a retainer. so he--a bit older than them, probably 100-ish years older at the time--just had this little vidyadhara high elder kid following him around.
well. you know. things happened, and of course they supported him in his Sinful Behaviors and his Crimes. they got thrown in prison for an indefinite amount of time, which was a considerably more merciful punishment than dan feng's. anyway. jing yuan eventually lets them out (initially with the intention of returning them to prison, even if he felt like they deserved to be free) around the time blade and dan heng and yanqing have their interaction.
lian knows why he chose to free them briefly--jing yuan released them with the intention of using their loyalty to his and his companions' advantage, because he knew dan heng was around and he knew they would absolutely blitz anything that put him in danger, even if he is technically not dan feng. they tell the general off and run away when he initially releases them but they do pull through for him and the trailblazers during the fight with phantylia. and they apologize to him for telling him off bc they generally aren't that mean they're very kind and gentle actually and they're generally very logical and understanding of the nuances of situations. it's just that they were tired and angry :(
when dan heng's eternal banishment is lifted, so is their prison sentence.
but now the issue is lian doesn't really want to stay with the xianzhou alliance anymore. dan heng advises them to join the nameless (bro is like "i'm not dan feng" but has nightmares involving them that cause deeper and more stressful feelings which linger more than the other nightmares of his past life.....), to which they kindly--and a little shyly, still uncomfortable and unsure of how to interact with dan heng--accept... with welt's approval, of course.
and as an erudition pathstrider, they have always been fascinated by the universe and it's mysteries, but they haven't really had the chance to study that stuff in-depth until they joined the nameless. they're also quite skilled with mechanics and craftsmanship. they're from the zhuming after all! their skill is definitely not to be underestimated, even if they look too gentle and sweet to do any harm. himeko gets along with them very well and spends a lot of time just... talking with them, exchanging thoughts and perceptions about the universe.

AJFMSJSKGAKAGAN YEAHHH a lot of you seemed to really enjoy that little brainrot kaiser and i had <3 wanderer and kaveh's younger sibling PLEASEEEE i definitely think the wanderer could understand them. and no, you're not wrong at all! alhaitham definitely inspired them to join haravatat.
i don't think anything bad really happens. i think it's just a personal preference to have real people following you HSNSHJFN.... the reason people always insist that new blogs customize their blog is because blank blogs (ones without a profile picture or banner or title) are ones that are indistinguishable from bots. basically, you can never know for sure, but blank blogs are kind of likely to be bots.
I DID GET YOUR ASK BTW it's okay!!!! dw about asking, i understand <33 i will reply soon!

Aight response was delayed cause I was (and still am) on a cabin. And since I don't like huge texts of words on my blog I've decided to remove the reblog from Vi, but if ya'll want to read what she wrote for more context then please go to her profile <3
I'll put why I believe wholeheartedly on Dan Heng confronting his past is vital under the cut, but be aware that a lot of what I write can contain leaked readables (I haven't gone through the effort of finding out if said leaks have now been released) so be aware that there can be both SPOILERS and LEAKS !
And I speak from the perspective of wanting character development from someone who is a main character along with the trailblazer. In such, wishing him that he achieves happiness after the Xianzhou arc is farfetched and not gonna help with said development.
If anything, the Xianzhou arc is the START of him healing and understanding himself, in no way is this a conclusion because Dan Heng has been running ever since he was "exiled" from Xianzhou. Wishing him happiness now because he's confronted one major part of his past (Which was so to say, destined to happen) is like taking any drop of character development he could have and chucking it down a river.
Without further ado
A very easy answer to the reason why I want him to confront his past and not run away from it and how: I want Dan Heng to actually acknowledge the fact that Dan Feng is very much a fundamental part of him, at the SAME time he is his own person. Something that Dan Heng himself refuses to admit.
For one, let me clarify that I wholeheartedly believe that Dan Heng is his own person. But let's start from scratch as to why everyone keeps saying he is Dan Feng whilst he wants to deny that fact.
We all have come to an understanding that the death of a Vidyadhara as a whole means a complete death and a permament loss of their kind. They're rebortn countless of times, but in the end still share the same essence and soul. So in a literal and biologial sense, Dan Heng is really just a de-aged Dan Feng with memory loss. (Blade also points out that Dan Heng has not experienced death and that a new face won't be able to blot out his past sins, in short DH = DF).
However this one is a personal belief given that Vidyadhara cannot die, which means that every rebirth is just another layer of the same person sharing the same traits but lead a different life - But from two instances have we seen the Vidyadhara picking up the same hobbies and skills as their previous incarnation. One particular Vidyadhara you can meet in the open world who likes to sing, and Dan Heng's previous incarnations becoming the High Elder.
Reasons as to why Dan Feng is still a vital part of Dan Heng that he has to accept in order to move forward:
Even if you were to completely disregard the idea above as my personal belief and not canon, a fact is that Dan Feng had a flawed rebirth. In "An Appeal from the Vidyadhara" (that has been removed from the game as of now or not released yet) it states that Dan Feng should've been regarded as a new being and his sins forgiven because he had suffered the punishment of molting rebirth. However for Dan Heng's case, he can't be judged under the same standard as other Vidyadhara because his rebirth was a flawed one.
The exucivation charm that was perfmoed on Dan Feng was a flawed one (Jing Yuan mentions this under one of the many conversations you can have with him in Scalegorge Waterscape). The flaw was the main cause of Dan Heng being able to access scattered fragments of Dan Feng's memories, and thus finding familiarty in things Dan Feng had experienced (Interacting with the numerous mirages throughout Scalegorge Waterscape whilst doing the main quest will prove that) as such, Dan Heng will inherently in the near future gain access to Dan Feng's remaining memories and experiences.
Which also explains WHY Dan Heng can even inherhit the power of a High Elder despite not being one in this life (These traits were usually the horns and the tail) Additionally, it very much seems like he holds both the Transmutation Arcanum and Orb of Abysm (Two items that will let the user re-experience the events of their dragon ancestors' lives in dreams). He's also able to coordinate extremely well with Jing Yuan despite never having fought alongside him in this life - a lot of things Dan Heng is able to do in his dragon form are things that you SHOULDN'T be able to do as a Vidyadhara who had gone through a normal process of rebirth.
So TLDR: Dan Heng doesn't share the same identity as Dan Feng, yes. But Dan Feng is still and always will be an inseparable part of Dan Heng that makes him whole. Yes the narrative around Dan Heng is that is and always will be a person of his own in spite of the fact that all odds are against him.
HOWEVER, it is important to acknowledge the fact that the theme of Dan Heng's character is "to run away from the past" (It's stated all of the character stories he has) as such he has a tendency to distance himself from his past either due to guilt or fear. Dan Heng is also case in point - a very unreliable narrator. He's been fed information on Dan Feng and his bad deeds since he was done molting - Information that comes from a biased view, of course he's gonna want to not associate with him.
So while it's true that Dan Heng is a person of his own with his own understandings of the world and experiences. Trying to separate him from Dan Feng and his past incarnations to boot would be impossible because Dan Heng's exsistence is fundamentally built upon them. Dan Heng refuses to acknowledge this, even to the point of not wishing to use DF power in his dragon form. The only connection he wants to have with Dan Feng is the shared sin they have.
But let's not forget that the Xianzhou arc is the start of Dan Heng's character overall, and thus the start of his narrative journey now that we have so to say his biggest secret and identity. It is in no way a conclusion to Dan Heng.
As such any future development for Dan Heng's story would be to now forge his own personal identity whilst accepting Dan Feng and every other incarnation as an indisputable but also inseparable part of him as a whole :D
Hoyoverse also have a running theme with these sorta characters throughout a lot of their games. Honkai Impact with K423 and Sirin making up Kiana and most notably Scaramouche and Kunikuzushi in Genshin which makes up Wanderer. All of this have a connection of accepting your past self as a part of you, even if you forge something new.
I want Dan Heng to truly understand himself, both in terms of what makes him different from Dan Feng, but also how he's connected to him. So in no way has he healed from running away because that's all he's been doing. But it's the fact he no longer has to hide this that he can start to figure things out.
With the conclusion of 1.2 main story, even Jing Yuan has specifically said that after Dan Heng helps the Luofu with this crisis, HE personally will see that he no longer is regarded Dan Feng's shadow and no longer exiled. He's free now from that part of his past.
I NEED YALL TO KNOW THAT DAN HENG NEEDS TO FACE HIS DAMN PAST TO ACTUALLY MOVE ON AND NOT KEEP RUNNING.
IF HE KEEPS RUNNING THAT'S LITERALLY CEASING HIS CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT RIGHT THEN AND THERE. DAN FENG IS A PART OF DAN HENG WHETHER OR NOT HE LIKES IT BUT HE HAS TO CONFRONT THAT PAST HES RUNNING AWAY FROM.
There's a reason why he remembers bits and pieces of his past life because he never fully went through the reincarnation process because the high elders didn't want to lose the dragon lineage. It's a reason why he remembers and it's why he also runs away.
But he needs to face said was past involving Dan Feng to be able to actually live as himself SO STOP CODDLING HIM SAYING HE DID NO WRONG HE HAS A SHARED SIN FOR A REASON 😮‍💨😮‍💨
