Today’s work was adding this tilted waterproof fillet and build these two air brick housings to stop water running down the gap between the concrete and wall, the drive runs towards the property with the damp issues and this was a contributing factor to the issues inside and out. We made both housings the same size so they match and look equal. This property had a paid for pre purchase damp & timber survey carried out on it by an unqualified surveyor. In his report he stated that every single wall had rising damp and recommended all the wall to be hacked off up to a meter with the kitchen taken out then reinstated. The owners of the property paid us to survey the house and these areas flagged up with issues. We sheeted up impeccably as the property had only just been renovated. Once painted the sale of the property can continue. Was called to this job Friday by a concerned electrician. The divers kept tripping and wouldn’t stay on, the far wall is earth retaining, the wall appeared went, the owner didn’t want the wall plaster taking off, it was thought water was running down the wire from outside as both back boxes were rusted. Some what restricted we cut out the back boxes and raised them to 450mm pulling out the wire, it was then noted that there was a water proof system in place. We stripped off the paper and added thermal plus insulated plaster boards fixed with acrylic and instastik.
