i jst think it’s so interesting how easily stef embodies both the archetypes of  ‘ hero ’  and  ‘ villain ’  like. he’s introduced 2 us as this rly good character, this saviour to balance damon’s slayer, who saved elena and keeps trying to protect her  ( somethin that in and of itself has its own selfish motivations but thats a post for another day )  while also making  ( some admittedly shitty )  attempts to keep others safe but ??? hes still done some rly fuckin terrible things, he has a history of violently murdering innocent people and then literally piecing their bodies back together and he fixates on this to a ridiculous degree. on top of that his control is Absolutely Shot To Hell nd he continues to be a very hungry and repressed character 2 his very core ???? which is honestly something he’s been since he was human rly but was just amplified so much when he turned like. he’s always been hungry and i really try 2 portray that even when i write him morally. he’s a covetous man, somethin that was true of him even before he encountered katherine, nd the ripper is just the most obvious outlet for that aspect of his personality. nd bcos of all that, the repression and the hunger and the desire, when he goes off the deep end he really fuckin goes off it and does some fucked up shit that ???? ppl keep forgiving him for ?????

Background: Calypso was born in Germany and lived there until she was six years old. After her younger brother was born her parents moved the family to Mystic Falls, Virginia in America. It was hard for Cal to find her footing in a new country at first but two of her classmates made it infinitely easier. Things seemed to be looking up and the next four years went by in a flash. And then Founders Day 2004 happened. A firework mishap caused a fire and then a trampling. Calypso woke up in the hospital, her mother at her side informing her that her father and brother had been trampled to death. Cal’s heart darkened a little that day. She became obsessed with finding out how to resurrect someone. The next four years she would spend distancing herself from everyone but her mom, Eleanor, and Jeremy, picking up new odd hobbies and morbid habits, she would attempt spells that never seemed to work out the way she wanted. This was, of course, because at that point she hadn’t been a fully developed witch. Her powers finally started to develop the summer after Jeremy’s parents died. Finally, she feels she has the power to try and bring back her father and brother. If only it weren’t for the Salvatore brothers causing trouble in Mystic Falls.

                      Each had seemed to be dancing around to avoid the other, each having their own reasonings. Yet fate seemed to toy at him, or so Damon thought as he entered the small bar and locked gazes with Lana. For a moment that seemed like a lifetime they held focus on the other — so much had gone unspoken. It was only till the interruption of someone grabbing her attention did the moment break.

                      Jaw ticked and hand twitches, the vampire almost walked back out the door. Yet with shoulders square he headed straight to the bar and to find himself at the end of a bottle. He did just that with each glass that he unceremoniously downed. Still Damon could not help but steal glances at the dark haired female.

                      As the clock began to tick ever closer to midnight the bar began to become louder and louder but the only thrumming he seemed to focus on was the beating of her heart. With only moments left a few individuals gravitated toward Lana. Teeth grinded as crystal hues narrowed. Downing the last of the amber liquid Damon ignored the woman seated besides him and stood up.

                      It seemed like an instant later he was standing before the object of his attention. Gazing seeking hers for only a moment as the clock struck midnight and lips sought hers in a possessive yet passionate kiss.

Fingers slowly traced the edges of a half-full bourbon glass, in the image of the clichéd solitary woman in the midst of the crowd.  Beautiful strings of lights reflected on the amber liquid, as they subtly illuminated the hunter’s pensive features.  She couldn’t get it out of her head — this wasn’t supposed to happen.  Her reason to come to Virginia was to learn more about Katherine, know what she was up against so that she wouldn’t do something she might regret, and that was DONE.  It’d been done for weeks.  And yes, at first her feeling of obligation to protect the people in this town from the insane number of supernatural beings inhabiting it was a decent excuse, but now?  Who was she kidding?  It wasn’t duty that was keeping her here, it was  HIM.

How he took her breath away the second he entered the room was only further proof of it.  Their gazes met, and the brunette was certain — those damn baby blues of his would be her  DOWNFALL.  In fact, she could feel herself spiralling down the rabbit hole of his presence, but then someone tapped her on the shoulder, and their spell was so very conveniently broken.

Natural order seemed to be re-established as Lana listened to a complete stranger and a dashing young woman sat next to Damon in suggestive mannerisms.  Just another tragic day in the office, a vampire and a hunter who never should’ve laid eyes on each other in the first place doomed to steal glances and live in forbidden instances.  Maybe in another life things could have been different, but in this one, she swallowed those thoughts away with the last of her bourbon, counting the minutes down until the new year.  When the clock finally struck midnight, this modern Cinderella would flee to the Boarding House and pack her bags, before she could think twice about it. 

But it wasn’t Damon Salvatore’s way to let things go according to plan.  No, instead of allowing her to go on her merry way and call this a day, he popped up in the nick of time and crashed his lips against hers in an awfully irresistible, passionate kiss.  And the worst part of it all was she didn’t do anything to stop it.  Lana let their mouths melt in the new beginning of time, lost in the vulnerability of her sweet surrender, left to wonder where the night was gonna take her now.  ❝ What was that for? ❞  Her voice was nothing but a brave whisper, the scent of his cologne engulfing her senses in an unsettling fashion, but one thing was for sure — she’d  REFUSE  to look away from his eyes this time.

Faith has always had a ton of energy. Ever since she was a little kid her parents and whatever guardian was watching over her was run ragged chasing her around as she flipped off chairs and climbs up trees or whatever she could. Because of this, her mother had her doing a ton of different activities from ballet to Karate to try to burn off some of her energy.  

When she turned 14 Faith’s father got a job in DC but on their way, their airplane mysteriously disappeared. 

After that Faith moved to Gotham to live with her older sister Jennifer and started beating up bad guys in Gotham as a way to relieve stress. It quickly became kind of a hobby until her uncle found her and took her in and trained her.
