"C'mon, Geppie! The ice isn't getting any thicker out here!"

He knew that. Serval knew he knew that. Everyone else at this blasted festival on the lake knew that, but it did not make his knees feel any less shaky as he tried to pull himself up onto his feet.

In all of his time on Belobog--or Jarilo-VI as the outworlders of the Astral Express informed him this planet was called--Gepard had attempted ice skating... maybe three times? Two of which where when he was a child, and the third being right now. And of course the only reason he had even come out to the lake in the first place was because he had been dragged here by his sisters, and one thing led to another and now he was here, trembling from the uncertainty those two flimsy metal blades strapped to his boots instilled in him.

"Coming!" He called, knowing damn well that he was not going anywhere but down once he let go of the fence that had been installed on this end of the frozen lake.

This was probably going to go the same way the last two attempts had gone: Gepard was going to keep a death grip on this fence until Serval skated over, egged him into letting go, skated away, and he would lose his balance and his shoulder would hurt for the rest of the day. He made a mental note to try and not fall for it this time.

"Well, if it isn't Captain Landau!"

Oh, Aeons, no.

Gepard didn't even have to look to confirm who had decided to come over and heckle him. Right there, on the other side of the fence, with his feet planted firmly on solid ground, was Sampo. That smile on his face might fool some, but Gepard could see the mischief dancing in his eyes as he leaned over the section of fence right beside Gepard's trembling hands.

"Finally taking a day off?"

The Captain huffed, his breath billowing like dragon smoke in front of his mouth. "You wish. I may be out with my family, but that does not negate my respons--"

"--'Negate my responsibilities as a Silvermane Guard.' Of course! No one here doubts your dedication!" Sampo clasped his hands together. He must think himself so non-threatening, but Gepard knows that that posturing only means that he's playing docile until he can find some trouble to cause when no one is watching.

"What is it that you want, Mr. Koski?" Gepard asked, inching further along the fence, trying not to think of how he'll have to let go if he wants to get past the rascal accosting him.

Of course, Sampo played hurt right away, actually standing up straight to put a hand on his chest to communicate just how directly the Captain's words had struck him. Gepard took his chance to shuffle across the ice some more.

"'Mr. Koski?' Still? After all this time, my friend?" He followed Gepard with his head, letting him get about a foot or so away before moving to walk alongside him. "Don't you think we're past the formalities by now?"

"Not exactly, no." Gepard turned his head to look back out across the ice. At the other end of the lake, past all the other skaters, was his sister, completely oblivious to his plight as she skated alongside a woman in white with navy hair. He was glad she was having a good time but some help would be appreciated--

Sampo followed Gepard's gaze out onto the ice. He could care less who or what the Captain was actually looking at, and found himself more concerned with how he was looking out at the ice in general. He was looking at it. Not skating on it. And even with his gauntlets on, it was clear that Gepard was white-knuckling it with this wooden fence.

"Do you not know how to skate?"

Gepard's ears turned even redder than they had been from the cold. "I don't need your help."

Sampo waved his hands dismissively, that big smile breaking across his face again. "Oh, please! It would be my honor to teach you!" Before Gepard could protest, Sampo was already high-tailing it over to the little booth offering rental skate attachments. The Captain didn't have the energy to fight this. This was just going to be his fate now--learning to skate thanks to the man he wanted most.

In jail. The man he wanted most in jail. He wanted to put Sampo in cuffs and get him off the street, not--

"I would've used my own, but you know, they're all the way back home." Sampo held the rental skates up by the straps like a prize fish, letting the iron dangle and catch the rare sunlight that cut through the atmosphere.

"And that would be...? Gepard wobbled up into a straighter position, resting his weight on the front teeth of his own skates so he didn't go sliding sideways onto his ass.

Sampo hopped up onto the fence and started to buckle up his shoes, making sure the straps were good in tight before he swung around to get onto the ice. "Well, Captain, that depends on how well you listen to my instruction! Luckily, you're in good hands."

Gepard grimaced, hoping it would distract from the burning feeling in the tips of his ears and the back of his neck.

When Sampo offered his hand to lead Gepard off of the fence, the Captain hesitated, but upon some reflection and the reminder that it was he either tried this or be delegated to The Fence for the rest of the afternoon, he figured he would just bite the bullet and give it a try. No harm in trying, right?

Sampo smiled wide again, and for once it seemed to actually reach his eyes. "You won't regret it, friend! Now off we go!"

He pushed off the ice and took Gepard along with him, clutching tight to his arm so he didn't go tumbling face-first into the solid ground beneath him. Regardless of whatever he said, Gepard knew this was going to be a long afternoon.

Okok so yesterday I spent a while yapping abt this on insta, so here it is as well!

Im focusing on my own 'au' (Called rottenstar au that name feels like a shipname tho.. i just cant think of anything better) which is my own take on like the bad guys, ect. And!! got my headcanons for the..bone structure..? of the sillies done yesterday so huzzah! (havent gotten to Nm yet, but i will- eventually)

☆Starting with killer!! -no soul shown so his sternum is visible-

All of that excess determination, surely is not good for him, as I'm pretty sure its also been stated somewhere that his soul staying OUTside his body is whats actually keeping him alive, if it were to go back to where it 'should' be I feel that that mf would melt. No way his body can handle that.

That being said- all that goopy black stuff over his bones is the result of a chemical reaction, lets say, between the energy which is Dt and his bones. Its most present on his chest as thats where most the contact is.

Its also 'produced' at his joints (idk WHY yet, friction?? or smth?). The areas which are blackened must also be where it hurts the most because- hello its literally his bones erroding while being "regenerated" just fast enough that he is not losing any major chunks of his bones

He's therefore shorter that the others bc - of the Dt kinda eating away at him (He stands of his tiptoes and hes still shorter). AND!! HE HAS A BITTY TAIL thats tipped with smth resembling a blade :]

The scar over his eye is due to more recent events- NOT the eye extraction incident.

The wonky spine was inspired by an artist (whos art i cant find :(( sobbing) and Its from all the constant "stress" its being put under.. carrying heavy weapons ect..

And that brings me to another point!! This horror holds onto his tail, almost always. Its a form of comfort or nostalgia ig- he got so used to dragging around his axe 24/7 back in his home au, and now that he doesnt need to he just.. feels odd. So he defaults to holding onto his tail lol.

I dont have as much on him.. But I still have some crumbs!

Hes more "dull" than the other two, as in his bones are more grey. Its links with all that damn monster dust. Its also why he looks so dirty- the dust just doesnt wash off (if we pretend that he showers at all...)

And.. no tail for him.

Season 2 part 1 of DR was just fucking amazing and I have so many feelings about it. I feel like I'm talking about this pretty late cause the first 5 episodes also aired on TV for me like a week before they dropped everywhere else. (Win for the german fans.) But then I couldn't even watch the recorded episodes of this week till yesterday cause I wasn't home and nevermind I'm rambling again.

Cole and Geo are so perfect for each other. I love them. And at this point I have to confess: I never shipped lava. (don't kill me please) Lostshipping (that's their shipname right?) is supreme.

Generally I am so happy that Geo, Bonsel and the kids were able to leave the forgotten land. Even if it was due to a villian attack. But hey. Everything has a positive side. (I'm literally so happy for them, especially the kiddos.)

Lloyd was just stressing all the damn time and I'm here for it. Sleep deprived Lloyd was also perfect.

(-> It makes me whonder why Zane hasn't really had any visions anymore since this used to be his thing. And what exactly the reasons for visions are. Since Lloyds visions seem to predict the general bad future. Zanes visions were more centered around him I think.)

Also Zane just being the designated guy to stay at the monastery with frog dude

SIBLINGS. So much good Kai and Nya sibling content, especially with the flashback. The last season was already good on RGB sibling content so I really love them continuing that.

Also Kai still being a dad/older brother/mentor to Wildfyre. He just took full custody over her. On accounts of that Wildfyre not listening to him like the little gremlin she is.

So much good Kai in general.

Bonsel and her witch mom. That scene was so beautiful. I'm not the only one that saw the coming out allegory here right?

Jay showing up again and him just being absolutely done working with the administration. Bureaucracy is truly hell.

On that note. The bureaucratic back and forth between Zane and the two agents was amazing.

The dehumanizing of Zane from the Agent wasn't very amazing.

KAI AND BONZEL ARE TRAPPED IN THE OTHER DIMENSION 😭😭😭😭 It's destroying me innerly. Especially with how Kai did not care about his own safety at all. My dude. You're trapped in a dimension with 4 of 5 evil spirits wandering around in there somewhere. Not to forget the only (known) ways to get out there are another blood moon in like a million years or smthng or a core dragons power who are scattered around who knows where.

So yeah. Lots of feelings. About Kai especially. I might even start write Ninjago fanfiction. (Surprised I didn't do that yet)

Presently ears-deep in Destiny/D2 but I am also a big Titanfall2 fan, LOVE Trigun, and Final Fantasy 7 and its derivatives will forever live in my heart. I also have a marriage and over 25 year relationship built on Star Wars and I've seen The Nightmare Before Christmas 109 times.

Obviously I write, and draw, but I also enjoy painting resin figures (I can't really call my preference for larger scale models 'minifgures' but like that). I'm a actively practicing and learning lapidary (I carve rocks) and rockhound (I go out and search for and collect rocks) and rock collector lol. I love rocks. XD I'm also big into plants and have a huge indoor houseplant collection, and a pretty robust garden, and start a lot of stuff by seed most years. Removing myself from the earth, I'm also a license pilot although I haven't flown in years due to both medical and financial restrictions. (renting an airplane is fucking expensive RIP lol) Flying isn't something I actively practice anymore but the knowledge, culture, and fascination and love of flying and airplanes is burned into my bones and I don't think it's ever going to go away. <3

I think I'm a pretty decent writer. I'd like to think I generally am pretty good at understanding people too. Like, seeing things from their perspectives and understanding their needs and wants and intentions and all that. It's what I like to write about too, fundamentally so they go hand in hand I guess.

pffff most things. Adulting. My home is a constant mess. But I do my best.

•Something you excel at

I can't resist laughing and pointing out Microsoft Excel. I'm so autistic I actually like spreadsheets and am very good at them al;ksdjfshdfh. IDK. I think I'm getting pretty awesome at these model paintings. I don't think of myself like this.

Gentle rain. A good scented candle. Pretty lights. A mossy forest, the ocean, my damn cats even though one of them is bullying me right now. cozy things.

•Something you could talk about for hours without off the cuff

Truly, Destiny Lore. Character analysis and picking apart text, words used, context, setting, tracing threads. Swapping headcanons and worldbuilding based on what we already have. Conjecture. Let's ramble for the next 6 hours about why he would totally say that, or did say it, or could have because I think this lore card implies he did. I live for those meals and eat so grandly off of just...sharing the stories.

•Something you hate

I don't think this is what this question meant when someone first listed it but this is the only think rolling around in my head right now so Imma say it and you'll know some of the shadows and worries in my heart today: I fucking hate Nazis.

Cobalt glass. I have a lot of vintage (and some not) cobalt things. I love that color.

•Something you forget

I always have a glass of water but 80% of the time I've forgotten it in another room. Husband teases me relentlessly. We're both very excited because I remembered to rescue it from his office tonight.

•What's your love language

Acts of service/gifts. I love writing ficlets or doing little drawings for my friends especially on request. Special little things I won't share otherwise unless you ask me to. Just for you. I am hugging you this way because I am not close enough to do it the conventional way.

•Favorite movie/show

Oh I forgot Transformers for fandoms. Transformers Prime is kind of old now but I just adored that show.

Pho. 10/10 comfort food. Actually I just really love Vietnamese food in general but Pho is a gift from heaven.

Yanno I'm not entirely sure because I'm struggling between my favorite teacher who taught my worst subject, art which was just fun but not challenging, English which I was GOOD at but not fun in any way, and Spanish which was engaging but too challenging to be fun.

I'm going to just go back and point at some of my aviation classes I took in college lol.

Chemistry because we had a teacher who couldn't stay on topic and I already really struggled with the math of it.

•What's your best character trait?

I'd like to think I'm pretty open-minded usually. And generally friendly. I can be a little bit of an asshole sometimes but I'm really working on that so hopefully nobody has the opportunity to notice lol.

•If you could change any detail of your day right now, what would it be?

Well I had to go to work and I would have much rather been home all day doing creative stuff so that would have been a nice change.

What's the origin of your blog's title?

It is the same as my bungo username and the reason for that is simple! Back when Bungie gave players a free name change, I decided it would be funny to name myself this due to the downright stupid amount of times that Taniks (or some form of Taniks, cough cough nightmare Taniks cough cough) has been brought back only for the guardians to get him again.

Favorite Fandoms:

Off the top of my head, I’d have to say Destiny, Transformers, The Dragon Prince, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and damn near everything Andy Weir has written(The Martian, my beloved. Along with Project Hail Mary, currently reading Artemis)

I don’t have any personal oc ships but in terms of Destiny, I. Love. Many of the relationships already in there. Such as Drifteris and Saintsiris.

I personally like red, especially when paired with black.

If you could have any job you wish what would it be?

I’ve always wanted to be a video game developer, especially in regards to narrative. That’s mainly due to the fact of what the narrative team at Bungie have created, like how was I supposed to read ‘Hope is a currency. It buys tomorrow. It gives us what we need to survive today.’ And not go insane thinking about it. I’ve always wanted to create something like that for other gamers.

Transformers legos! I’ve only recently started it to the point where I only have less than five but I’m happy with what I have so far! I also like to collect Destiny 2 merch. I’ve got some shirts and a jacket right now!

What's your love language?

I’m a firm believer that everyone needs at least a little bit of each love language. Of course, it varies in volume and from whom you are receiving it from. I think my the biggest one I like getting is physical touch! I love hugs, give me all of the hugs.

Favorite movie/show:

Favorite movie is definitely a tie between Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse and Across The Spider-Verse. My favorite show might have to be Young Justice! Either that or Arcane, or Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. It’s hard to choose!

Favorite food:

Easily my dad’s smoked steak, I swear each and every time I take a bite into that stuff, it’s like I’m tasting heaven itself.

Favorite animal:

Gotta go with both wolves, bears, and owls!

Are you musical?

Oh absolutely, I really should take a video of myself killing it at any karaoke. Besides that, I love me a good musical. Personal favorites are Hamilton and The Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals.

I’ve always loved theatre classes!
