This scene is the reason why a Junzumi Dungeon Menshi AU is not needed.

what were your faves on heartbreak weather? :)
i have listened to san francisco an obscene amount of times. i can't fathom, if i had a play count, what the number would be. still is, to me, the most beautiful song he's written and remains so (tied with flicker. we aren't talking enough about flicker). cross your mind, bend the rules, small talk, black and white (which i still think is his most romantic even though it's not technically a ballad, though the acoustic version gave us that. when did i first know? i always knew. please)...i really love that album so much i cannot possibly describe. skipless. perfect.
the song ranker came out like this, but it feels like the title track and dear patience should both be way higher (a testament to how much i love the entire thing), and nice to meet ya is last not because i don't like it, i get why it was the lead, but it's the most out of place song on the album as a whole imho. put a little love on me is only that low because it makes me sad, it's gorgeous forever though.

#dear patience should be at least three slots higher idk what i was doing#hbw and no judgement should maybe be flipped here. IT CAN BE SO LONELY IN THIS CITY BUT IT FEELS DIFFERENT WHEN YOU'RE WITH ME#even small talk feels like it should be higher. sexiest damn jam. TELL ME WHAT YOU WANT BECAUSE YOU KNOW I WANT IT TOO#LET'S SKIP ALL THE SMALL TALK AND GO STRAIGHT UP TO YOUR ROOM#there is not a sexier song in any of the other boys' catalogs and i STAND by that#but i wouldn't move black and white or everywhere! so!!! consider some of them equal if this was done in proper tiers#anonymous#letterbox#nialler

In the Margins (a s f) by @bonvoyagenoona ⊹₊⋆ You weren’t sure what he would look like. His writing made you think of a cabin nestled among tall pines, a well-worn cardigan, a scotch neat, and a wistful wisp of smoke seeping into the air from the bowl of an unattended tobacco pipe. What stands before you now is a studio apartment in the city, cigarette butts, coffee stains, and a scowl. There’s definitely been a mistake.

who is your fancast for duncan? additionally, what songs do you associate with duncan/jacob?
Eeee, questions about my precious ghost boy and his book-smart, people-dumb boy best friend! 🥰
My personal fancast for Duncan is Charlie Rowe! I've used him for a couple Duncan-centric aesthetics and graphics in the past, and I've even occasionally used him as reference while drawing Duncan, most notably as part of the Haunted Mansion AU.
As for Jacashe songs...I actually made a playlist for them a while back, if you'd like to peruse it! ^.^

woah!
Trapped Together – A mission goes south, and Damian and Reader get locked in a small space, forced to work together until help arrives.
The mission had gone to hell fast. What was supposed to be a simple recon job turned into a full-blown mess when an unexpected security system activated, locking down the building and trapping you and Robin in what seemed to be an old storage closet.
You glared at the heavy metal door as if you could will it open with sheer frustration. “This is your fault.”
Damian scoffed. “My fault? You were the one who tripped the sensor.”
“It was hidden under a damn rug, Wayne!” You crossed your arms, back pressed against the shelves behind you. “Who even does that?”
“A competent security team, clearly,” Damian muttered, arms also crossed, his posture stiff as he leaned against the opposite wall. Not that there was much space between you two—this closet was tiny, and no matter how much you tried, you kept brushing against each other.
You huffed, shifting to sit on the floor with a wince. “Alright, whatever. Batcomputer will notice the lockdown eventually, so all we have to do is wait for backup.”
Damian checked his comm, expression souring. “The signal is jammed.”
“Of course it is,” you muttered, tilting your head back against the wall. “So what, we just sit here and contemplate our life choices?”
“Tt. I could attempt to override the lock if—”
A loud clatter cut him off.
You both froze. The source? The tiny vent above your heads.
Then came the unmistakable sound of scurrying.
“…What was that?” you whispered.
Damian’s expression darkened. “A rat.”
You immediately lifted your legs off the floor. “Oh, hell no—”
Another sound. This time closer.
Without thinking, you grabbed Damian’s arm, dragging yourself against him. The space was already cramped, but now you were practically pressed up against his chest, both of you tensed. His breath hitched, but he didn’t pull away—though, from the way his shoulders stiffened, you knew he was trying to act unfazed.
“You’re afraid of rats,” he noted, voice neutral but with the faintest edge of amusement.
“I am not afraid of rats,” you hissed. “I just don’t like them. There’s a difference.”
“Hn.”
The silence stretched, the only sound your still-too-close breathing. You realized suddenly how warm he was, how his heartbeat was steady beneath his suit. Your grip on his arm loosened, but you didn’t let go entirely.
“You’re enjoying this, aren’t you?” you grumbled, tilting your head to look at him.
Damian met your gaze, something unreadable flickering in his eyes. “You make it difficult not to.”
Your breath caught, pulse stuttering. Was he… flirting? No, that couldn’t be—
Another loud scritch from the vent, and you flinched again, instinctively pressing your face into his shoulder. His hand twitched before carefully resting on your waist, almost hesitant.
“I will ensure the rat does not harm you,” he murmured, voice quieter than before.
You scoffed, but it came out weaker than intended. “So chivalrous, Wayne.”
The moment stretched between you, tension of a different kind settling in the small space. Neither of you moved away. Neither of you wanted to.
And then, of course, the door unlocked with a beep.
You both turned toward it as the heavy door swung open, revealing Nightwing standing there, blinking at the sight of you practically tangled together in the dim closet.
“…Should I come back later?” he asked, lips twitching.
“Shut up, Grayson,” Damian muttered, quickly stepping back—though not before his hand briefly, deliberately, squeezed yours.
Your stomach flipped.
Maybe being trapped with Damian Wayne wasn’t the worst thing after all.
The entire ride back to the Batcave was painfully silent.
You sat next to Damian in the Batmobile, arms crossed, eyes locked on the glowing city outside the window. Every so often, you felt his gaze flicker toward you, but neither of you said a word. Nightwing, meanwhile, was having the time of his life trying not to burst into laughter from the driver’s seat.
“So… storage closet, huh?” he finally broke the silence, barely concealing the amusement in his voice.
Damian exhaled sharply through his nose. “Drop it, Grayson.”
You shot Dick a glare. “There was a rat.”
“And yet, somehow, that’s not the part that made it weird.”
You groaned, sinking further into your seat. Damian stayed rigid beside you, and you could feel the barely restrained irritation radiating off of him. If you didn’t know any better, you’d say he was embarrassed.
But no, this was Damian Wayne. He didn’t get embarrassed. Right?
By the time you arrived at the Batcave, you were already bracing yourself for the interrogation. Sure enough, the moment you stepped out of the Batmobile, Bruce was there, arms crossed, looking every bit the imposing Dark Knight.
“What happened?” His voice was all business, eyes flicking between the two of you.
Damian stood straighter, falling into debriefing mode. “A hidden security sensor was tripped, resulting in a full lockdown of the facility. Y/N and I were separated from the main entry points and forced to seek shelter in a storage space while we awaited system override.”
You nodded, rubbing the back of your neck. “Comms were jammed, but once the security failed, we were able to extract without issue. Mission was a bust, though—whoever set up that system knew what they were doing. There was nothing left to salvage.”
Bruce gave a slow, assessing nod. “Understood. I’ll have Tim and Barbara analyze the security logs, see if we missed anything. You two—” His gaze lingered, sharp and unreadable. “—did well.”
You blinked. “That’s it?”
He raised an eyebrow. “Should there be something else?”
Dick coughed behind you, clearly still holding back laughter. Damian shot him a warning glare before stepping forward. “No. That will be all, Father.”
Bruce seemed to consider pressing further, but after a beat, he just nodded. “Good. Get some rest. Dismissed.”
The moment you and Damian turned toward the locker area to change out of your suits, Dick finally let loose the laughter he’d been holding in.
“You two looked cozy back there,” he teased, arms crossed as he leaned against one of the Batcomputers.
You groaned, peeling off your gloves. “I’m never gonna live this down, am I?”
“Absolutely not.”
Damian scowled. “Grayson, your commentary is unnecessary.”
“Oh, I highly doubt that,” Dick grinned. “Especially with the way you had your hand on—”
“Enough.” Damian’s voice had an edge of finality, his ears suspiciously red as he turned away.
Dick just smirked. “Alright, alright. I’ll back off. For now.”
You sighed, shaking your head as you grabbed your duffel bag. “I’m going home.”
Damian turned slightly, hesitating for just a second before saying, “I’ll walk you to the Zeta Tubes.”
You blinked, a little surprised. But you didn’t question it. “…Sure.”
As the two of you made your way deeper into the cave, Damian was uncharacteristically quiet. Not tense, not angry—just… thoughtful.
You glanced at him. “You good?”
He exhaled through his nose. “I dislike inefficiency. We were reckless tonight.”
You frowned. “Dami, we handled it fine. No one got hurt.”
“That’s not the point,” he muttered, then hesitated before adding, quieter, “You were afraid.”
Your stomach did something weird.
“…Of the rat?” you tried to joke, but your voice came out softer than intended.
He didn’t smile. “You held onto me.”
You swallowed. “You didn’t let go.”
That made him pause.
The two of you stopped at the entrance to the Zeta Tubes, the hum of the teleportation system filling the air. He looked at you then—really looked at you, eyes unreadable, expression unreadable, but something flickered behind that perfect mask.
You shifted on your feet. “…Thanks, by the way. For, you know. The whole… chivalry thing.”
A beat of silence.
Then, with the faintest smirk, Damian tilted his head. “It was nothing.”
And before you could respond, he turned, walking away, disappearing into the shadows of the Batcave like he hadn’t just left your heart hammering in your chest.
A Few Days Later…
You hadn’t seen much of Damian since the storage closet incident. Not that you were actively avoiding him or anything—but you were also not not avoiding him.
Because every time you thought about that moment—his hand on your waist, his steady presence, the way he hadn’t pulled away—you felt weird. And not in a bad way. In a dangerous way. In a I-think-I-like-my-best-friend kind of way.
And that was a problem.
You sighed, slamming your locker shut at Gotham Academy, only to nearly collide with Damian himself.
You jumped. “Dude!”
“Tt. Overreacting as usual.”
You scowled. “You lurking as usual.”
He smirked, but there was something deliberate in his presence—something focused. His hands were in his pockets, and he looked at you with the kind of intensity that usually meant he was about to drop some life-altering information.
You crossed your arms. “Okay. Spit it out.”
“I require your presence this evening.”
You blinked. “Require?”
“Yes.”
You raised an eyebrow. “And what exactly am I required for?”
His expression didn’t waver. “Dinner.”
You narrowed your eyes, scanning his face for any hint of a joke. “Like… a mission briefing dinner or a ‘we’re both too exhausted to cook after patrol’ dinner?”
His jaw tensed, just slightly. Then, evenly, “A date.”
Your brain short-circuited.
“…A what now?”
“A date,” he repeated, just as matter-of-factly as before. “You and me. Dinner. As a couple.”
Your heart slammed against your ribs, and for a second, all you could do was stare at him. He, of course, looked perfectly calm—like he hadn’t just casually shattered the entire foundation of your understanding of your relationship.
“I—” You cleared your throat. “I—uh—when did we—?”
“You’ve been avoiding me,” he cut in, tilting his head. “Which means you’ve been thinking about it. Which means there’s something to consider. Which means I am correct in assuming there is mutual interest.”
You opened your mouth. Closed it. Opened it again. “That is a lot of assumptions, Wayne.”
“Am I wrong?”
Your stomach flipped.
You could lie. You could make this weird. You could pretend the idea hadn’t crossed your mind every second since that damn closet.
But… it had.
And he wasn’t wrong.
You inhaled deeply, narrowing your eyes. “Where?”
He smirked, victorious. “Seven o’clock. I will pick you up.”
Before you could respond, he turned on his heel, walking away like he hadn’t just completely upended your reality.
You stared after him, heart still hammering, mind still reeling.
And then, despite yourself, you smiled.
That Evening – Gotham’s East End Diner
You weren’t sure what you expected when Damian Wayne said date, but sitting across from him in a run-down Gotham diner—complete with squeaky booths, dim lighting, and a jukebox that only worked half the time—was definitely not it.
“You picked a diner,” you said, still processing.
Damian didn’t even blink. “Yes.”
“Like. A greasy diner. With milkshakes.”
He raised an eyebrow. “Is there a problem?”
You leaned back in the booth, eyeing him skeptically. “You, Damian Wayne, son of Gotham’s most expensive man, heir to a literal empire, picked this place for our first date.”
“Tt.” He took a sip of water, entirely unbothered. “I assumed you would prefer something casual.”
You frowned, caught off guard. “…I mean. Yeah. But you—” You gestured vaguely at him, still in his usual crisp, well-fitted attire. “You don’t do casual.”
Damian exhaled, setting his glass down. “And yet, here we are.”
You blinked.
Huh.
He really had picked this place for you.
A warmth settled in your chest, and you found yourself smirking. “Alright, Wayne. You get points for effort.”
He smirked back. “As I should.”
A waitress in her mid-fifties appeared at your table, popping gum as she eyed you both. “What can I getcha, kids?”
You hummed, scanning the menu before grinning. “Cheeseburger, fries, and a chocolate milkshake.”
She scribbled it down before turning to Damian. “And you?”
Damian barely looked at the menu. “The same. But vanilla.”
You raised an eyebrow. “Boring.”
He shot you a look. “Classic.”
The waitress chuckled, shaking her head. “Cute. I’ll be back with your food.”
As she walked away, you realized something.
This was… normal. No mission. No patrol. No masks. Just you and Damian sitting in a diner, ordering food like any other couple.
The thought made your stomach flip.
Damian seemed perfectly composed, but there was something softer in his posture—something almost relaxed.
You tapped your fingers on the table. “So, Wayne. What’s your game plan here?”
He tilted his head. “Clarify.”
You smirked. “You ask me out, you take me to a diner, we eat greasy food—what’s next? A moonlit stroll? A kiss under a streetlight?”
Damian’s lips twitched. “Would you like that?”
Your stomach did a whole thing.
You scoffed, pretending your face wasn’t heating up. “I’m just saying, this is shockingly good execution. Almost like you planned it.”
He sipped his water. “I always have a plan.”
You snorted. “Of course you do.”
A comfortable silence settled between you, the hum of the diner filling the background. For once, there was no pressure, no expectations—just easy conversation and unspoken understanding.
And maybe—just maybe—you could get used to this.
Later That Night – Walking Through Gotham
The diner food had been greasy, the milkshakes had been perfect, and somehow, somehow, the night had turned into you and Damian walking side by side through Gotham’s quieter streets. The neon lights of corner stores flickered, casting a soft glow over the cracked pavement.
It wasn’t exactly romantic, but it was nice. Peaceful, even.
You snuck a glance at Damian, who walked with his usual calculated precision—hands in his pockets, gaze scanning the area like he was still on patrol.
“You’re tense,” you noted.
“I’m aware of my surroundings.”
You smirked. “So, tense.”
He exhaled through his nose, side-eyeing you. “I fail to see how observation equates to tension.”
“Observation is good.” You nudged his arm with your elbow. “But we’re off duty, Wayne. You can relax.”
He didn’t respond right away. Then, almost reluctantly, he sighed and rolled his shoulders, loosening his posture ever so slightly. “Happy?”
You grinned. “Very.”
The two of you walked in silence for a bit, the cold Gotham air nipping at your skin. It wasn’t uncomfortable, but it did make you tuck your hands into the sleeves of your jacket.
Out of the corner of your eye, you noticed Damian shift slightly—like he was thinking about something.
Then, suddenly, his hand brushed against yours.
You blinked, heartbeat stuttering.
Was that… on purpose?
You glanced at him, but his face remained unreadable. He didn’t pull away, though. Didn’t correct the contact. Just kept walking.
Testing the waters, you let your fingers graze his again.
This time, he did react—by intertwining his fingers with yours.
Your breath hitched.
You looked up at him, half-expecting some snarky comment, but there was none. Just a steady, quiet confidence as he held your hand like it was the most natural thing in the world.
Your stomach flipped.
“So,” you said, voice quieter than before. “You’re really committing to this whole… dating thing, huh?”
He glanced at you, smirking slightly. “Would I have asked if I weren’t serious?”
You rolled your eyes, but your smile gave you away. “Guess not.”
The night air was cold, but Damian’s hand was warm—steady, sure.
And maybe that was all you needed.
—
When you finally reached your apartment building, you lingered outside, neither of you making a move to leave just yet.
You hesitated, then, before you could talk yourself out of it, you stepped forward and wrapped your arms around him in a hug.
Damian stiffened for a fraction of a second—like he hadn’t expected it—but then, slowly, his arms came up to hold you in return.
He was warm. Solid. His heartbeat steady against your ear.
“…This is nice,” you admitted, voice muffled against his shoulder.
His hand rested against your back, his grip just tight enough to make you feel it. “It is.”
You smiled against his jacket, eyes fluttering shut for a second.
Yeah.
You could definitely get used to this.
Outside Your Apartment – Late Night in Gotham
Neither of you moved.
The city hummed around you—distant sirens, the occasional honk of a car horn, the low buzz of a flickering streetlamp—but none of it seemed to matter. All that mattered was the warmth of Damian’s arms around you, the steady rise and fall of his chest, the way his hand rested against your back like he belonged there.
You weren’t sure how long you stood like that, but eventually, Damian exhaled softly, tilting his head just slightly so his chin brushed against the top of yours.
“You should go inside,” he murmured.
You huffed. “You’re the one still holding on.”
He didn’t deny it. Didn’t let go, either.
Instead, he just said, “I will walk you in.”
You pulled back slightly to look at him, still holding onto his arms. “Damian, I live here. I think I can manage walking up a flight of stairs.”
His gaze flickered toward the building entrance, then back to you. “…I’ll feel better if I see you inside safely.”
Your stomach flipped.
You bit back a smile. “You’re really leaning into this ‘boyfriend’ thing, huh?”
He raised an eyebrow. “Should I not?”
You shook your head, amusement tugging at your lips. “No complaints here, Wayne.”
With that, you stepped out of his arms—immediately missing the warmth—before taking his hand and tugging him toward the entrance.
He followed without hesitation.
—
Inside Your Apartment – The Doorstep Dilemma
When you finally stopped at your door, the realization hit that you had officially reached the end of the date.
Which meant…
You swallowed, suddenly feeling weirdly self-conscious under Damian’s gaze. He stood close—hands back in his pockets, posture unreadable, but his eyes… soft.
“You’re staring,” you muttered.
His lips twitched. “I am looking.”
“Same thing.”
“It is not.”
You rolled your eyes but couldn’t fight the smile creeping onto your face.
Then, silence. Not awkward, but charged.
There was an unspoken question hanging in the air—one you weren’t sure either of you were brave enough to answer.
Damian’s fingers twitched at his sides, like he was debating something.
Finally, he exhaled. “May I—”
Before he could finish whatever thought was forming, you made the executive decision to hug him again.
Because, honestly? That felt safer than dealing with whatever tension was currently buzzing between you.
He tensed slightly—probably surprised—but then, just like before, he melted into it, arms wrapping around you easily.
“…You do this often,” he murmured against your hair.
You smirked against his shoulder. “I like hugging you.”
Damian went quiet at that.
Then, softer than before, he admitted, “I do not mind it.”
Your heart did something stupid.
Slowly, you pulled back, lingering just long enough to meet his gaze. His face was close—too close. Close enough that if you just tilted your chin up—
A breath passed between you.
Your stomach flipped, your fingers twitched, and then—
“Goodnight, Damian,” you whispered, because if you stayed any longer, you might actually spontaneously combust.
His eyes flickered slightly, scanning your face, but he nodded. “…Goodnight, Beloved.”
And with that, you slipped inside, shutting the door before you did something reckless.
Like kiss him.
Later That Night – Sleepless Conversations
You had been lying in bed for a solid twenty minutes, staring at your ceiling, trying not to think about the fact that you had just been this close to kissing Damian Wayne.
But, of course, that was all you could think about.
The warmth of his hands, the way his voice had softened, the way his eyes had flickered down to your lips for half a second before you bailed—
You groaned, rolling onto your side, yanking the blanket over your head. What the hell was wrong with you?
Your phone buzzed on your nightstand.
You hesitated before reaching for it.
Dami: Are you awake?
Your stomach flipped.
You stared at the screen for a second before responding.
You: No, I’m sleep-texting.
There was a short pause before the typing bubble appeared.
Dami: That would be concerning.
You smirked, rolling onto your back as you texted back.
You: What’s up?
Dami: I have been thinking.
Your heart did a stupid little lurch.
You: Oh no.
Dami: Tt. Do not be dramatic.
You: Impossible. What are you thinking about?
Another pause. Longer this time.
Then—
Dami: The moment outside your apartment.
Your breath caught.
You stared at the text for way too long, rereading it at least five times before you finally worked up the nerve to respond.
You: Oh.
Great. Brilliant. Fantastic response.
The typing bubble appeared, then disappeared. Then reappeared. Like he was debating what to say next.
Finally—
Dami: You left rather abruptly.
You scoffed, sitting up.
You: What was I supposed to do? Stand there and stare at you all night?
Dami: I would not have minded.
Your brain short-circuited.
You: …Damian.
Dami: What?
You: Do you realize what you’re saying right now?
Dami: Yes.
You flopped back onto your pillows, gripping your phone like it was personally attacking you.
You: Are you saying you wanted to kiss me?
Your heart hammered as you hit send.
He didn’t respond right away.
The typing bubble appeared. Then disappeared. Then—
Dami: Would that be surprising?
You squeaked out loud.
You: YES???
Dami: Why?
You: Because you’re you.
Dami: And?
You groaned, shoving your face into your pillow for a second before responding.
You: And you’re all proper and composed and disciplined and intimidating.
Dami: Intimidating?
You: You know you are.
Dami: Tt. That does not answer my question.
You exhaled sharply, chewing your lip.
Okay. Fine. Screw it.
You: Because it’s YOU, Damian. My best friend. And if we kissed, it wouldn’t be just a kiss, would it?
The typing bubble appeared immediately.
Dami: No. It would not.
Your chest ached at how quickly he agreed.
Fingers trembling slightly, you typed—
You: And that doesn’t freak you out?
This time, he took longer to respond.
Then—
Dami: Not as much as it excites me.
Your breath hitched.
You stared at the screen, pulse pounding.
Then, before you could talk yourself out of it, you typed—
You: …So if I hadn’t chickened out, would you have kissed me?
Your phone vibrated immediately.
Dami: Yes.
You clapped a hand over your mouth, muffling a noise that you refused to acknowledge.
Then—
Dami: And the next time I get the chance, I will.
You nearly died on the spot.
The Next Morning – Sick Day Shenanigans
You woke up feeling like absolute death.
Your throat felt like sandpaper, your head was pounding, and every inch of your body ached. It took way too much effort just to roll over and grab your phone from your nightstand.
Squinting at the screen, you groaned and typed out a message.
You: I think I’m dying.
A response came almost instantly.
Dami: Tt. Do not be ridiculous.
You: No, seriously. My body is shutting down. Tell Gotham I loved her.
Dami: You are being dramatic.
You: I literally can’t get out of bed. This is it. I’m done for.
A short pause.
Then—
Dami: I am coming over.
Your eyes widened.
You: Wait, what??
Dami: I will be there soon. Do not die before I arrive.
You groaned, flopping back onto your pillows. Of course he was coming over.
—
20 Minutes Later – The Cavalry Arrives
A firm knock rattled your door.
You barely managed to roll out of bed, wrapping yourself in a blanket like a pathetic sickly burrito as you stumbled to open it.
Sure enough, Damian stood on your doorstep, looking perfectly put together, not a single hair out of place. In one hand, he held a brown paper bag. In the other, a plastic bag filled with medicine.
“You look awful,” he said flatly.
You squinted at him. “Wow, thanks, boyfriend of the year.”
He smirked, stepping inside and nudging the door shut behind him. “You are welcome.”
You barely made it two steps toward the couch before you collapsed onto it with a dramatic groan. “I told you. I’m dying.”
Damian simply rolled up his sleeves.
“I will not allow it,” he said, marching into your kitchen.
You blinked after him. “…Are you cooking?”
“You need proper nutrients,” he called over his shoulder, already rummaging through your cabinets like he owned the place. “And hydration. And rest. Fortunately for you, I am well-versed in all three.”
You stared. “You know how to cook?”
He gave you an unimpressed look. “I was trained by the greatest assassins in the world. Do you honestly believe I am incapable of making soup?”
“…Fair point.”
Satisfied, Damian set to work.
You, meanwhile, remained face-planted on the couch, listening as he moved around with practiced ease. The rhythmic sounds of chopping, stirring, and the occasional clink of dishes were weirdly soothing.
You must have dozed off at some point, because the next thing you knew, Damian was crouching beside the couch, nudging your shoulder.
“Wake up, Beloved.”
You blinked blearily. “Mmm?”
“I have made soup.”
You cracked an eye open, catching the self-satisfied look on his face as he held up a bowl like some kind of prize.
Your heart melted a little.
“You’re proud of this, aren’t you?” you rasped.
He smirked. “Very.”
He helped you sit up—gently, like you might break—and placed the bowl in your hands.
You took a sip.
And holy crap.
It was… good.
Your eyes widened. “Damian—”
“I told you,” he said smugly.
You slurped down more, warmth spreading through your chest. “Okay, fine. You win. You are officially the best boyfriend ever.”
“As I should be.”
You rolled your eyes but didn’t argue.
When you finished, Damian took the bowl, setting it aside before reaching for the medicine he’d brought. “You will take this.”
You made a face. “But—”
“No arguments.”
You groaned but obeyed, swallowing the bitter liquid with a shudder. “Gross.”
Damian smirked. “Good.”
Then, before you could react, he leaned down and pressed a kiss to your forehead.
You froze.
The warmth of his lips lingered, and then he pulled back, his expression smug.
You stared at him. “Did you just—”
He kissed your temple. Then your cheek. Then another on your forehead for good measure.
Your brain short-circuited.
Damian sat back, completely unbothered, as if he hadn’t just left you flustered beyond belief. “Physical affection is known to boost recovery.”
You gawked. “You planned this.”
He smirked. “I always have a plan.”
You groaned, shoving your face into a pillow.
Yeah. You were definitely going to survive this illness.
But Damian Wayne?
He was going to be the death of you.

We need better marriage candidate advantages! Gifts, dinners, and occasional chores on the farm are nice, but....
Shane - starts taking care of the chickens and you get more eggs (double or triple from one chicken) or an extra chicken every year. Plus discounts at Marnie's. Oh and give me a room for Jas on the farm!!! Also he starts working at Pierre's after Joja closes and leads weekly AA meetings at the community center. Marnie also visits occasionally and brings gifts. Wanders into the forest sometimes and brings back forage.
Abigail - discounts at Pierre's, shopping on Wednesdays, and she goes adventuring with you in the mines (for some rare drops). Discounts at the Adventurer's Guild after she becomes a full-fledged member. Her parents visit on the farm and you get occasional gifts from them. Breaks up rocks on the farm (actual rocks in your inventory and occsisonal geodes).
Harvey - discounts at the clinic for the amount of times you're injured in the mines and he is the one who finds you and carries you home so you don't lose any items. Weekly energy tonics. And sometimes he plays jazz (Unlocks new music). Discounts at the bookseller (1.6) because he befriends the hot air balloon operator. And the man gets over his fear of heights and gets his chopper license. Can take you to Ginger Island for free.
Maru - weekly energy tonics since she works in the Clinic (yes, she should keep her job) and battery packs, plus her dad visits the farm cave and you get better drops in there. Robin visits too and says things like "oh, I saw such and such needed upgraded or repaired, so I did it. " Seb visits and might bring a gift. She also creates a working robot that can automate some farm chores at random. Joins the aerobics class at Caroline's.
Sebastian - discounts from Robin for upgrades and her shop, he occasionally goes adventuring with you in the quarry (for rare drops), and brings in a side income from his incredibly popular indie computer game. Brings gifts from his trips to Zuzu City. Hosts weekly jam sessions with Abigail and Sam on the farm. Organizes DnD game night at the community center - friendly to beginner's.
Leah - chops wood for you (actual wood in your inventory), crafts beautiful decor for your farm, and brings you delicious forage from the forest. Brings in a small income from her artistry. And she would also adventure with you in the secret woods (rare drops and better protection). Might buy you a drink or salad at the Saloon on occasion. Would absolutely dance with you at the Stardrop on Friday nights if you asked her.
Alex - Builds a ramp for George and then his grandparents occasionally visit the farm, bearing gifts. He chops wood and breaks up stone on the farm (actual wood/stone in your inventory). And let's start a food truck. Sells at his stand year round (and more than just ice cream), bringing in a small monthly income. He would be an excellent ally also on difficult adventuring levels (preventing you from getting surrounded). If you do go down, he's carrying you home so that you don't lose any items. Runs bingo at community center for the older townies (including his grandparents). Finally fixed the damn leak in Evelyn's roof.
Elliott - let's upgrade his beach cabin for a vacation getaway! He brings you home from the library with all sorts of useful knowledge. The man brings in an income selling his stories and poetry. Establishes a regular reading event at the library. Teaches writing classes at the Community Center. Discounts at Willy's (Willy is Elliott's great uncle in my headcanon). He would occasionally adventure with you on Ginger Island. Oh and I think you'd adopt Leo together and build a little treehouse on the farm.
Sam - income from Joja (or the movie theater), builds a skate park for the kids on town (a new post marriage heart event), and travels occasionally with his band (bringing in a sporadic income). Oh and he writes new songs for the jukebox at the Saloon. (Unlocks new music). Probably plays for the locals on Friday nights. Vincent would come stay with you on the farm, on occasion, so he would have a room. Plus Jodi would bring you dinners on Sundays. Kent would send you regular gifts in the mail. Also unlimited free games at the arcade (Sam's always buying).
Haley - has a photography show (like Leah does with her art) and decorates your farmhouse with occasional prints (new decor), plus an income from selling her services as a photographer. I like to think she works with Seb on the town website and adds her images. Brings gifts from her trips to Zuzu City. Scythes grass on occasion on the farm (actual grass and sometimes mixed seeds in your inventory). Would plant flowers in a farm garden with Evelyn. Emily would visit and bring gifts.
Emily - discounts at the Saloon, a small weekly stipend, and sells her clothes online, plus you get to join the weekly aerobics class at Caroline's with her (and if you have high hearts with Clint, you get discounts at the blacksmith too). Sometimes misc clothing, shoe, hat, and ring upgrades show up in your inventory. Haley would visit and bring gifts.
Penny - special events at the community center (she helps establish family-friendly activities and the community center is more active). She goes back to school for her official license and brings in a small income from teaching. Discounts on bus rides thanks to her mom, or cheaper bus repair if you aren't done yet. Better rewards at the library/museum when you donate items because of her friendship with Gunther. And she creates a playroom at the farm for Jas and Vincent (and your kids, of course). Pam might visit on occasion and bring gifts (and like Shane, Pam would attend the weekly AA meetings).
Okay... confession time... who are you marrying based on the above advantages?

Johnny's Daddy
Johnny has been my friend since forever, and while we grew apart in High school, we would always make sure to comfort each other through all the tough times. He helped me with my breakup, and I helped him when he lost his job.
Johnny was always on the smaller side; Puberty Hit never really got to him, and while he never got the muscles he wanted, he eventually became quite happy with his body and my numerous numerous offers to wing man him and help him get a girl were always turned down.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/6f84517e718993808ce31aa189f98622/9dcfa37f60081ce8-0b/s540x810/fd400c3e79192be533c35a157e86fda3a1146975.jpg)
Earlier today, my phone pinged while I was at work. Johnny had messaged me:
"Hey man, could you come to my place after work?"
"Sure? What do you need?"
"I'll explain when you get here."
Me and Johnny had always been open and clear without ever really needing to talk outside of texts, so I thought this must be something big if he wanted to talk about it at his place, so after work finished up, I got in my car and drove to his apartment in the city. After a good 50 minutes of driving through the winding roads, I finally arrived.
As I opened the door, he came and hugged me. "How was the drive?" "Nothing special, just some traffic jams and that stuff," I responded. For the first few hours, we just hung out talking about life and playing games before I finally asked why he wanted me here: "Well, I wanted to tell you I was gay." he blushed as he said it, "Damn man, thanks for telling me; I'm glad you trusted me enough to tell me, do you want to go to a gay bar or something?"He shook his head at my question: "You don't understand; I've been trying to get a boyfriend for awhile now, but it never works out, and I wanted to ask you if...." "I'm sorry, man," I interjected. "I love you like a brother, but I don't feel the same way about you." "Okay, sorry, I hope we can still be friends," Both of us laughed awkwardly at the incident, but decided to hang out some more. At about 6, we were both getting hungry, so he ordered a pizza, and he got up to grab us a drink. I heard what sounded like pills rattling in the kitchen before he returned with some beers, caps removed. "Thanks, man," I said as he handed me one. Taking a sip, I thought it tasted funny, but I just shrugged it off as the pizzas had just arrived and i was starving.
As we ate and played video games, it became latter and latter, and the beers piled up, each tasting stranger, then the last. At some point, my mind started to became fuzzy. "Ugh, I don't feel good," i said. "You don't look good either. Maybe you should just sleep here for the night."Johnny commented, Too tired to argue, I ended up on his couch and fell asleep quickly as he went back to the room. "You'll be fine; I bet you feel like a new man tomorrow morning," he called as he closed the door.
That night, as I shuddered in my sleep, my body began to change, moving around as my stature grew, stretching from 5 feet 8 to 6,2. My flab melted away as my skin tightened around new abs that began to push out one by one, and calves became strengthened along with arm muscles. My round face gained structure as a square jaw and clear skin gave my face a new, more attractive look. But it wasn't just my body changing; my dreams began to shift; thoughts that I used to have about women became directed towards Johnny; as I dreamed of dominating and using him, the apartments that we each had eventually became one, just as my place had his boyfriend cemented, and soon I was picturing him submitting to me every night. As these dreams peaked, I felt my dick pulse, lines of cum shooting out as my rock-hard cock lengthened, growing longer and longer inside my underwear from it's normal 4 inches to a monstrous 9, and my boxers turning to briefs as they were soaked in my semen. The transformation was over, and my new place in the world was confirmed.
The next morning, Johnny smirked as he walked in to be greeted by me staring at him in nothing but my briefs. "I have a job for you, boy; I need some services," I commanded, His dick jumped up, and his body shuddered as he moved towards me. All memories of my past life disappeared as he wrapped his lips around my dick; all that mattered was teaching my boyfriend his place.

Evanesce: to dissipate like vapor
Worn floorboards of Shady Bell wailed under Arthur’s weight as songbirds began their morning melodies. The gunslinger scoped the eerily empty, quiet camp for traces of you, but all he found was a folded letter on his pillow.
Echoes of your last conversation flashed in his mind as he tramped across the narrow room to retrieve the note. Two nights ago, The Old Guard overlooked their kingdom from the second-floor balcony as they discussed their plans to wage war against Angelo Bronte. Bile stung the back of your throat as two-thirds of the trio outruled the other. Hosea’s final words to Dutch and Arthur, “You’ll damn us all,” filled you with dread and the overwhelming feeling of impending doom.
Arthur avoided your shadowed eyes as he reloaded his weapons and ignored your outcry against Dutch’s plan. Your desperation had turned swiftly to indignation, and an argument commenced, your voices clashing like swords. You begged him not to go, pleading with the enforcer to listen to reason for once, to listen to you. But he pushed back with the shield of obstinance he had long forged for survival.
“I don’t take orders from you, woman, and keep your goddamn voice down.”
Thousands of tiny needles pricked at the backs of your eyes at the harsh directive, but you held firm.
“Arthur, if you go I’ll–”
“Don’t,” he warned dismissively, slinging his rifle over his shoulder and ambling to the door. He didn’t even bother saying goodbye as he twisted the knob. Your last words fell on ears deafened from years of gunfire.
“If you leave, I won’t be here when you come back.”
Two days later, Arthur masked his guilt with anger as he skimmed over the last piece of you left in the room. Four words in the polite loops of your handwriting taunted him: Saint Denis. Train. Running.
After a quick check of the cinch, he found himself begrudgingly engulfed in the city of smog and greed he’d come to hate so much. Riding through the maze of cobblestone, brick, and vermin was like laying under a guillotine, staring up at the blade and waiting for it to drop. Law on every corner, people jammed together, and now, Bronte’s men out for revenge–none of it felt right.
Taking in a breath that didn’t reach deep enough, he started his search for you in this hornets’ nest of a city. Most of the hotels and saloons served him with nothing but a heavy dose of adrenaline and dead ends. As he approached Doyle’s Tavern, his last stop, he dug his nails into his trembling palm, savoring the sting of apathy that came with the pain.
Arthur made a beeline to Gabe Doyle, reciting his rehearsed description of you. A woman standing beside him, whose garments had seen cleaner days, tapped him on the shoulder. The outlaw didn’t even look at her, didn’t give her time to speak before he rejected her with razor-edge disdain. When Arthur finished, Gabe only shrugged his shoulders, but the woman, still standing close by, let out a derisive giggle.
“He won’t be of no help, mista’. Coulda’ told ya’ for free, but it’ll cost ya’ now.”
Ire made his ears ring, drowning out all the other sounds in the slum’s saloon. He drummed his fingers hard on the worn wooden bar, the taste of pride sour on his tongue.
“How much?”
Cleavage spilled over her top as she leaned towards him and twiddled brazenly with the collar of his shirt.
“Well, for clients that play nice, seven dollars, but for you, rotten dirty bastard––times it by ten.”
A minute later, he exited Doyle’s Tavern not a cent lighter, heavy with an indefinite ban, but finally, a real lead on you. Four new mocking words overshadowed ones from the letter: Whore house; Courtenay Street.
A brothel—a goddamn brothel.
Instinct lured him to the debauched inn, and your name frothed from his muzzle in more of a growl than speech. Like a rabid dog, he snapped and barked orders at the women unlucky enough to be trapped with the beast on the arena floor.
They tried futilely to stop his march down the hall, tried to keep him from getting to you, but the chaos drew you into the colosseum and into the lion’s direct line of sight. You yanked the man-turned-animal by the sleeve and sealed yourselves away before he could do any more damage.
More tame now, sea storm orbs surveyed you in a quick but covert once over, then he spun on his heel, searching for anything else to focus on.
“Christ, been looking for you all day, woman,” he bit out through clenched teeth.
The lone wolf prowled the new territory for a threat but was only met with a vacant cave and the empty feeling of shame. Deflecting, he found your luggage, lifting the bags with the practiced ease of carrying buckets of water to and fro. His biceps flexed with the weight of your whole life in one bag, but he nodded at you, matter of fact.
“C’mon. M’taking you home.”
Home. You could’ve laughed if it didn’t hurt so much. None of these places had ever been home.
“I ain’t going nowhere with you,” you fired back, grabbing for the suitcase in his hand. A brief game of tug-of-war ensued, your grip relentless, Arthur’s unwavering, until he finally let you pull one of the bags free. He dropped the other and exhaled with the sharpness of a saber but stayed silent at the conclusion of your weaponless duel. He’d fallen in love with that gnawing defiance, but now it was tearing him to pieces, bit by bit until it exposed the marrow of pure anger.
“Runnin’ off is one thing.” His nostrils flared, and the timbre of his voice deepened as he carried on, “But running off t’here–– selling yourself?” He shook his head and blew air through his teeth, “Yer crazier than I thought.”
You whirled away from him, swatting your hand like he was as insignificant as a fly.
“And you’re a bigger idiot than I thought. Ain’t selling myself, you damn fool! And I’ll do whatever the hell I please. Right now, I want to get far away from this shit city and you.”
“No, you don’t,” he said, dragging out the words. “I know you just as well as you think you know me. If you wanted away–really wanted away–you wouldn’t’ve left this pretty little letter, and sure as hell wouldn’t’ve told me where to find ya’.” He retrieved the letter from his satchel, held it up just long enough for you to see, and crushed it in his fist before discarding it on the floor.
“That’s what I think of your pretty little letter.”
You had started a slow involuntary backtrack during his monologue, the flight response pushing back against the fight. He followed, sandwiching you between himself and the door.
“Screw you.” Scorn was hot on your breath.
Just as you thought to turn the knob, to free yourself from the prison of flesh and wood, the iron teeth of a bear trap, his fingers, clamped around your wrist, bringing your hand to eye level.
“And you still got something of mine.”
Both pairs of eyes landed on a small round sparkling opal set in a gold band on your left ring finger.
You’d never forget finding it on your pillow along with a letter from Arthur that just said, “One day…”
He had made promises he didn’t keep. First, you just had to wait for the Ferry Job. Next, you needed to survive Colter. Then you had to get far away from the Pinkertons, and most recently, all you needed to do was help case the Lemoyne National Bank. One last job, he’d told you. It was the same thing he said before leaving for that boat in Blackwater.
Contempt flowed through your veins as you tried to wrench free. God, you hated him right now, but you hated yourself more for letting him fool you.
“Let go.” You hissed, seething.
Your hand throbbed as he gave your wrist another squeeze.
“You first.” Then he nodded towards the stone on your finger. “My ring,” he demanded.
Your knuckles collided with the wood of the door with a hard knock as you freed your hand. You flattened your palm against the wood behind your back, guarding the ring from the career thief’s piercing gaze.
“No,” you shot back, sinking into yourself. “It’s mine.”
Your finger throbbed around the ring you’d seldom taken off. It had become part of you, melded to your skin like a vine coiled around a tree in a beautiful and deadly embrace.
“Yours?” he huffed incredulously, shaking his head, trying to form your words into something he could understand. For a short beat, the heavy huff and puff of his breath was the only thing you could register.
You had mined forever to find something other than cold coals of anger within him. You thought you’d found it—thought you’d finally struck gold when he confessed his feelings for you somewhere out west all that time ago. Now, you were left wondering if it was only fool’s gold you had stumbled upon. The cowardly knight was far too proud and far too afraid of getting stabbed to lay down his armor. But you were having a silent conversation with those sad eyes, reading words he’d never speak or ask aloud. What does that make me, then?
“Yours.” He answered his inner thoughts without hesitation.
Mine. You thought back but only stared at him, not wanting to give him the satisfaction of cracking under his scrutiny.
“Yours.” He repeated assuredly, final.
It was your turn to shake your head now; you could hear his vocal cords vibrating, generating sounds you were supposed to understand, but he may as well have been speaking another language because what the hell did he know about being anybody else’s? You repeated your thoughts bluntly.
For a moment, he looked stunned, but then his hand shot out, cupping your jaw and tilting your face toward his. He was so close, you could smell him now. The scents of liquor on his breath and leather in his hat permeated your whole being.
“You don’t think–” His voice was low and trembling with fury. “I been yours since the goddamn day I laid eyes on you, and you know it.”
Fight, flight, freeze, and now fawn all warred for dominance. Twin mirrors of blue cosmos peered into your soul, but you didn’t look back, knowing that black holes of destruction ruled in the center and could swallow you in the blink of an eye.
“You have to go, Arthur.”
You tried to reach for the knob again, but Arthur imposed on you further, his chest brushing against yours.
“No,” he said. “I ain’t going nowhere without you, and you ain’t going nowhere without me. M’done talking about it.”
It’s like he couldn’t listen, couldn’t hear you, couldn’t respect what you wanted. He only ever responded to shouting and violence. So you dipped down to his level, anything to get him to understand. Your open hand pushed full force against his chest, knocking the wind from him and making him stumble backward.
“You don’t own me, Arthur Morgan!”
But the shouting was no use. He closed in on you again, and you reached out, clenching your fists in his shirt to stop his advance. If he noticed, he didn’t let on, talking with a tight jaw.
“No, dammit, cause you own me.”
You balled your fists around cotton fabric and pulled him down into you, inhaling like you were bracing for the worst. This game, Predator and Prey, had become second nature to you. You would always be his fawn, thrashing and wailing, yet never escaping the salivating jaws of the coyote. And it always ended the same: a clash of heavy breathing and snarls before you surrendered.
Tobacco and whiskey never tasted so good, and they were just as addictive as him. Your teeth clashed together, and his left hand fell to your hip while his right twisted the lock on the knob.
He was never gentle, but now, he was almost crazed. Rough hands that were trembling only an hour ago were all over you, gripping your jaw, sliding under your blouse, pushing and pulling you to his whim.
“Falling in love with you was the dumbest thing I ever did,” you confessed as he removed his hat and set it aside; he had better access to you without it. Heat surged through you as his hands bit into your hips, pinning you in place against the locked door.
You mumble under your breath, “Bastard.”
So far, he was ignoring your attempts to rouse him; you were his pretty little doe, caught in his chops, and a few barbs wouldn’t keep him from utterly devouring you. Dipping his head into your neck, he fixated on that pulsing artery, taking no time to roll the flesh between his teeth.
“Goddamn asshole,” you huffed but cradled his head as he claimed you.
He brushed over the ruptured blood vessels with his knuckles, and the bastard was smiling, eyes glazed over with lust and self-indulgence. Electricity sparked down your legs as he looped his fingers in the waistband of your skirt.
You swore to yourself two nights ago that it was all over, that you wouldn’t let him slither back, yet here you were, Eve, being tempted by the serpent. Teeth sank into the forbidden fruit with the lift of your hips off the door, giving him permission to snatch both your skirt and bloomers down in a swift pull. Arthur didn’t need much persuasion to eat from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil; a man like him could have never lived for eternity in The Garden of Eden.
The pair of you wore pride like heraldry, but neither of you was as honorable as you’d led the other to believe. You, provoking him with the threat of leaving, knowing you’d let this happen as you always did, and him never changing and never stopping the cycle of broken promises.
Your scent was intoxicating, but he held off from relishing it, studying your face like he’d done many times before. Something was different this time, though. Only for a heartbeat, you saw something in his eye, a minuscule hint of vulnerability. You blinked, and it was gone like it was never there, replaced by an unabashed smirk. You kept the insults flying.
“Jerk.”
Hearing the laugh rumble in his chest made your skin prick up the same way it did when a thunderstorm was brewing on the horizon. The cowboy braced his hands against your thighs and peeked up at you, his lips still curved in the corners.
He lifted his eyebrow in question, “You done?”
“Shut up,” you responded, tangling your fingers in his hair and guiding him, not so gracefully, to the heat between your legs.
Obeying, he flicked his tongue out to lap at you, drawing you closer in a hug, his palms resting on the curve of your ass cheeks. Steadying yourself against the door, you tugged on his hair like reins, but fuck, you didn’t want him to stop. You grunted and cursed under your breath as that gluttonous, greedy grifter feasted on you.
Blasphemous sounds rose up from your chest as you rocked your hips feverishly with every swipe of his warm wet tongue against your clit. Every tug of his locs and bump of your mound into his nose sent blood pulsing full speed to the bulge in his pants. He knew you were dancing dangerously close to the cliff’s overhang by the way you were keeping him in place, right where you wanted him. But the brute stopped and locked eyes with you, lips curved downward. That slight glimpse of vulnerability you thought you’d seen earlier was now on full display.
“Say you won’t go,” he choked out.
Down on his knees, looking up at you with genuine sincerity was the closest he’d ever get to prayer or penance. You swallowed the lump forming in your throat but didn’t answer him.
Instead, you ushered him back to his feet and crashed your lips into his again, tangling your tongue with his.
In a swift motion, you popped his suspenders loose while you walked him backward. The backs of his knees hit the bed, and he shimmied off his multiple layers just as quick as you unfastened the buttons on your blouse. You stood before him, a goddess, determining his eternal fate. And he waited, fixated on you, languidly stroking his engorged cock while you decided.
You replaced his fisted grip with yours, bending to meet his eye. The almost frown on his face made you wonder what he was seeing staring back at him. You imagined your pupils blown out, your lips swollen, and your hair disheveled. Arthur was the only man in the world who could turn you into a vixen.
“You’re a fool, Arthur Morgan.” Your noses were almost touching as you tightened your grip and stroked him painfully slowly. His Adam’s apple bobbed as he nodded, his face downright solemn.
“Mhm,” you went on, rubbing circles atop his hot, leaking pink tip. Your pace quickened as your cheek grazed his. A shiver ran through him as the vibrations of your voice tickled his ear.
“No good, thieving, murderous bastard.”
“I know.” He drew out, tightly clutching the sheets. With a firm nudge, you urged him onto his back.
“You don’t deserve me. Never did,” you continued. His hips jutted in time with your wrist, his climax sitting low in his balls.
“I–dammit–I–kn–know.”
The muscles of his stomach constricted as he fought for breath, damn near suffocating under your touch.
“I’ll change.” He gasped, eyes closed, and brow furrowed. “I’ll change. But–ahh–I ain’t ever gonna be good enough for you, woman–nghh–no matter how much changin’ I do.”
Air finally flowed back through with the halt of your pumping. The mattress sunk with your added weight as you slung your legs on either side of him. Neither party stalled. You gave him a quick nod before he could even ask, and he sank his length into your warm, wet pussy. There were no hushing kisses, no waiting for you to adjust, no cajoling, just the smacking of skin and the aroma of sex in the room as he molded you to his girth. Bashfulness had never even crossed your mind. You rode him tirelessly, whimpering, gasping, and filling the air with his name.
The roles reversed; you were the animal now, a lioness pursuing a buck. Chasing the high, you galloped hard and fast and grinding your hips against his to relieve the throbbing ache in your clit. You massaged the sensitive nub between your thighs, indulging in the pleasure you were giving yourself and receiving from him. The tip of his cock bumped that sweet spot inside of you, the one that made you tense and cry out over and over again.
You didn’t want to tell him, didn’t want him to know what he was doing to you or how he was making you feel–how he always made you feel when he was burrowed deep inside of you. You couldn’t hide from him, though. He knew you–knew the faces and sounds you made, knew the way you tightened around him, knew how you stiffened, knew how your breathing shallowed when you were on the edge. He knew the control he’d have over you forever.
“You ain’t going nowhere.” He grunted as he pounded up into you, the knot in his stomach tightening with his own upcoming release.
“Fucker,” you said through gritted teeth.
“Yeah, and you love it.”
You couldn’t deny it.
He took your hand in his and felt for the ring on your finger, stroking it, all while keeping eye contact and hammering relentlessly into your velvety walls. Four more thrusts and your eyes rolled back as the lightbulb of tension burst.
“That’s right, let it go, there it is.” Muttering, his upward ruts got sloppier as you rode out your body-spasming orgasm. Then he started babbling, lost in your sweet heat,
“Shit, I’m–bout t–m’close.”
The cowboy tried to lift you up, tried not to spill inside of you, but you buried your head in the crook of his neck and lowered yourself back down, taking him balls deep.
“Goddamnit,” he growled, hugging you to his chest, “the hell you doing, t’me, woman?” He panted and stared up at the ceiling like a man condemned.
“Ain’t going nowhere,” you echoed breathlessly, still bouncing, before adding, “Yours.”
In a few more strokes, he filled you up, grunting through his teeth and cursing up a storm that’d make even the most seasoned sailors look on timidly.
Outside noises of the establishment and the streets of Saint Denis droned back in as both of you came back to your senses. An ocean of things was left unsaid as you redressed and let Arthur lead you out of the room and to a proper hotel for the night. The next morning, you took Arthur up on his offer to get away for a few days. As the train you had boarded for your trip chugged on, something in the distance piqued your interest, a small homestead. You could vaguely make out a woman sitting on the porch and a man, presumably her husband, tending to a horse nearby. Of course, you didn’t know their life or their struggles, but if you could write your own happily ever after, it would be that. Arthur nudged you with his elbow, interrupting your daydream.
“M’sorry...about everything,” he said, low, barely audible. The perpetual ache in your chest had almost gone numb after so long. Almost.
“I know.” You replied and turned back to the window. The house was out of sight now, and you had a feeling your fairy tale ending had vanished with it.

iwaizumi hajime
100% without a doubt, works out to relieve stress. it's an escape from his problems (oikawa) and helps him take out his anger in a healthy way.
his favorite color is definitely red. i don't know why he just seems like a red guy.
literally gets SO pouty when he's surprised with something. it could be a gift or a party and he'll get so pouty. he's so emotional i love him
he loves LOVES when you grab his bicep. it makes him feel so strong and manly and proud it's so cute his face lights up.
contrary to popular opinion, he LOVES physical touch, but only with specific people. he just loves feeling loved.
whatever you cook for him, he'll DEVOUR it. he'll literally eat it up he loves food especially if you're the one who made it.
oikawa tooru
he has major separation anxiety. when he's in argentina you know damn well he's spamming the group chat with messages and calls.
his friends mean everything to him. he'd abandon volleyball for them anyday. he'd never admit it though...
a horrible, terrible liar. cannot lie to save his life, he'll start laughing or smiling. his voice cracks if he tries to drag it on too long.
when he falls in love, he's in LOVE. the gc is spammed with messages about how much he loves his gf and pictures of her followed by long ass paragraphs.
if he ever catches you in his jersey, oh honey... you're never gonna hear the end of it. he'll do a whole photoshoot of you in it, it doesn't matter if you just woke up. he thinks you look stunning and now it's his lockscreen wallpaper.
the SASSIEST man alive. he'll give you so much attitude if he's pissed off. you gotta sit his ass down and tell him to cut it out cause it gets BAD.
matsukawa issei
i don't see him as a smoker honestly. however...he is a big drinker. beer, whiskey, rum and coke, you name it, he'll have it.
super handsy. can't keep him hands off you, he needs to be touching you at all times. whether it be a hand on your hip, waist, thigh, head, or an arm around your shoulder, he's always touching you.
working in a funeral home, he sees a lot of grieving families yk.. he has nightmares that one day he'll be the one grieving you. please hold him tight at night!!
king of midnight snack runs! it's 4am and you're hungry? no problem! let's do a cvs run. oh you want taco bell? it closes soon better hurry!
has the LONGEST eyelashes you've ever seen. it's not even funny how are they so long. he looks great with mascara, he'll even beg you to put it on him so he can show off to oikawa. (he does, in fact, get jealous)
jams out with hanamaki to 2000's white girl songs. i'm talking christina aguilera, britney spears, natasha bedingfield, etc. it's their favorite way to mess with hajime. (he secretly loves it though)
hanamaki takahiro
matsukawa might not be a smoker, but hanamaki totally is. he doesn't smoke often, but when he does he comes back higher than a kite. he only smokes to relieve stress.
our dear boy is unemployed, but he still tries to spoil you as much as he can. you want that swimsuit? you'd look so hot babe of course he's buying it for you.
not a very touchy person, but he tries to make it up to you by spending time with you. he'll stand by you in the kitchen while you're whipping up some coffee for yourself. he sees you on the couch? now you guys are watching a movie together. he just loves being with you.
late night drives with takahiro are to die for. you've never had this much fun in your life. the city lights and the music blasting from the radio lifts you to a high you've never felt before.
uses hot cocoa flavored chapstick. he stocks up during the winter since it's a seasonal flavor (which he thinks is super annoying) but you complimented him on it once and now it's the only one he uses.
on twitter nearly 24/7. he posts his every thought and somehow they go viral. he prides himself on that and comes to you every time his tweet blows up. "look babe! my tweet hit 100k retweets."

YALL BASED ON THIS VIDEO HERE IM SCREAMING-
-
It’s been hours since you’ve smiled at Rintaro.
Not since this morning when you left. He was home today, all day, left to watch your three year old, and be home to see your nine year old. You’d kissed the side of his nose, reminded him of some chores, and everything was fine for you to go out and do your own set of errands.
But to come home to a trash bag sitting outside of the door and not in the barrel that got emptied today?
Oh. Screw smiling.
There may have been a small argument that broke out once you told him, about how he assumed you’d take the trash out since you were leaving the house- of which you snapped that it’s not your responsibility to automatically take out the trash when you leave.
Your son, Akito, was only left to watch the chaos, setting up the console he and his father were about to play on.
“I forgot, okay!” He snaps, rolling his eyes. “I’ll take it out later, it’s fine!”
“It’s not fine!” You yell back. “The trash was already taken! It’s worthless at this point to do it!”
He looks like he’s about to say something back, but you see him bite his tongue. “Good choice,” you snarl. Leaving him and Akito, you make your way upstairs and into your bedroom where you get changed into something that doesn’t emit outside-world feeling. You take a quick shower, wash your face, and when you step out still angry, you’re quick to make a new game plan.
Once you’re done with your small dose of self care, you stomp into the kitchen for something to eat, hoping that it’ll help curb any further anger coming from you both.
Crackers and cheese, some little slices of fruit which you intend to pair with they jelly you got on your last visit to the city.
You grab the jar and with a deep, frustrated exhale, you grip the cover and try to twist.
When it doesn’t budge, you feel your eye twitch.
You try again, to no avail. You grab the nearest towel in an attempt to get a better grip. No dice.
You sigh, tossing the rag to the side before stalking your way into the living room, grimace etched on your face.
“Can you open this?” You ask, and just as Rintaro pauses the game and tosses his controller aside to reach for the jar, you slip right past him and pass it to Akito, who takes it in his hands to pop open the lid.
With a small grunt he manages to open the lid, passing you the jar with a small smile, “here, ma.”
“Thank you, handsome man,” you hum, blowing him a kiss and blowing a raspberry at Rintaro when you make your way back to the kitchen. There’s a pause of silence, a question you don’t quite catch from your son, and suddenly, you hear your husband jump up from the couch. You smirk. It doesn’t take long before feet quickly pound their way into the kitchen, and a disgruntled Rintaro stands, pouting, in the doorway.
“What. Was that about?”
You shrug softly, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Don’t give me that crap,” he says, brows furrowed in frustration. “You’re seriously going to use my own creation against me?”
“Your creation?” You scoff in disbelief. “First off, I don’t remember you carrying our two children around for nine damn months. Second of all, our children are not creations. They’re children.”
“Point one,” he begins, quickly walking over to you. “You were hot as fuck carrying around our spawn. Secondly? Last time I checked, our baby machines only worked when together.”
“Feral!” You snap, giving him a grossed out look before turning towards the snacks you’d been making. “Get the hell out of my kitchen, I don’t want you here- HEY!”
Before you can think, Rintaro reaches past you and grabs the jar of jam, quickly raising his arm above his head to get it out of your reach. You would’ve tickled him for it, but the jam was from a small business three cities over. And the fuckhead knew that, and you hate him for it.
“You’re such a pain!” You growl, making a jump for it. You barely come close. Your fingers wrap around his shoulder in an attempt to yank his arm down, but he tightens it up completely to make it immobile. You’re rendered completely helpless to your husbands cruelty.
“Akito!” You call your son in hopes for assistance, snarling up at your husband. Instantly, socked feet slip along the floor, and at the sight of his figure in the doorframe, Rintaro bears his teeth.
“Don’t help your mother, she has to learn a lesson!” He snaps.
You growl back, “don’t listen to your father, you and your sister’s snacks depend on it!” Akito’s green, confused eyes flick back and forth between you both, and if you weren’t so stubborn, you’d think about how absolutely hilarious this is.
Rintaro, in all his 185 cm glory, holding a damned jar of jam above his head, so much so a sliver of his side pokes out from his shirt, and you, crossing your arms childishly after making extreme reaches for the jar.
It’s ridiculous, it’s childish, and it’s perfect for your marriage.
Akito gnaws his lip, “I mean… Ma is the boss, dad-“
“If you scram, I’ll double your allowance this week.”
“Bye mom!”
With the last bit of hope you have, you watch as he skates his way back into the living room, eye twitching in annoyance. “Kaiya wouldn’t betray me like that!”
“She’s three, mom!”
“She’d still help!”
Left to your own pity, you once again make a reach for the jar, only for him to reel his arm back a little bit more. “Give me a break, I have snacks to make,” you say, voice pitched in annoyance and defeat.
“Tell me you won’t go to our son for husband jobs.”
“Tell me you’ll take out the trash when I tell you to!”
“I thought you were throwing it out!”
“Why would you not check!”
“I didn’t think I had to!”
“Don’t worry, I’ll check on your waking daughter,” Akito calls annoyed from the living room, the only thing breaking up your argument.
With a deep, exhausted breath, Rintaro slowly lowers his arm, though still keeping a slight distance between you. “Cant we both say we’re wrong?”
“I’m never wrong,” you snip.
“I know, but for the sake of waking our three year old up, please just cave with me. Please, baby. I’m-“
He’s cut off by your quick lunge for the jar. He yanks it out of the way, and you’re left chasing it like a dog with a treat. You do, however, hear your husband laugh, but it’s not the laughter of victory from a few moments ago.
It’s laughter of adoration.
“I will leave you.”
“Gotta get the jar first.”
You, once again, for the nth time in a row, make a reach for it, but this time, Rintaro’s free arm quickly wraps around your waist to encase you in a hug, and he leans you back into the most ridiculous dip you’ve ever been apart of. You can’t begin to fight your own laughter that bubbles past your lips, fingers instinctively gripping his collar for stability.
Once your titters are finished ringing in the air, he straightens you both up, relaxing as you thunk your head against his chest. The jar gets put down on the counter, and he kisses the crown of your head sweetly as his arms tug you close.
“You’re annoying,” you purr.
He chuckles, “I know.” He closes his eyes and gently breathes in your scent, “and I’m sorry about the trash my love. Even if I thought you took it out, I really should’ve just. Checked.” Long fingers gently smooth up your neck to gently massage the nape, and he hums as you melt like putty against him.
“Now it’s gonna sit,” you pout. “In the trash outside. And it’s gonna smell. And we’re gonna be the house with smelly ass trash.”
“I know,” he repeats, trying not to laugh at your concerns. “I’ll take care of it princess- and worst case scenario, I’ll write letters apologizing to the neighbors for our rotten trash.”
You snort softly against his collarbone as you continue to nuzzle closer, “I’m sorry I went to Akito to open my jar,” you confess, angling your head up at him. He smirks and leans down to capture your lips in a kiss, his hands moving up to cup your cheeks lovingly.
“You wanna know a secret?” He asks against your lips.
You hum in intrigue.
“I’m pissed because I tightened them all when you were in the shower, so you’d have to talk to me.”
“SERIOUSLY?”

chapter contents/warnings: exes to whatever the hell this is, a little bit of smut, angst, weed and alcohol use, mutual pining, steve is an idiot and is afraid of commitment </3, barely proofread (sowwy)
w/c: 5.3k
The first big frost of the season blankets the town of Hawkins when you arrive on Wednesday night, the bits of ice glittering on the orange and brown leaves making the barren streets seem less intimidating as you make your way through your hometown for the first time in months.
There’s a sense of anticipation and dread that fills your stomach while navigating the streets you know so well, knowing you’re going to be asked the same mundane questions about college in the big city a thousand times over during the next three weeks. You know that’s not the only thing filling you with dread for the weeks to come, but keep telling yourself that’s all you have to worry about — right?
The first evening you arrive in town is jam-packed, since your friends insisted on having a so-called “Friends-giving-mas” as the night that you arrived, due to your anticipated absence on the aforementioned Christmas. You spend a few hours with your mom and dad before leaving, enlisting your mom to help you make some cookies for the party, promising you’d leave her and your dad some behind.
The clock hits 7 p.m. and you’re finally finished getting ready, having just thrown on a red velvet, long sleeved dress that hit just above your knees and your best black boots, Robin had requested everyone to look their best so she could take photos with her new camera throughout the party. You grabbed your secret santa gift and jacket, checking yourself in the mirror one last time before leaving your room.
“Alright, I’m leaving.” you call out as you bound down the stairs and into the kitchen.
“Don’t forget your cookies, sweetheart! They’re on the table.” she replied from her place next to your dad on the couch, watching some rom-com while he was dozing beside her, “if you need us to come pick you up, we will.”
You let out a laugh at her remark, knowing that you were only walking to the next house over on the road, so picking you up would be ridiculous.
“Oh, I think I’ll manage just fine.” you joke in return while grabbing the plate of cookies, “love you guys!”
—————————
The outside of the Harrington’s house is gleefully lit with warm string lights, wreaths already adorning the front windows and main door to the house in anticipation of Christmas in a few weeks. You always admired the way their house looked during the holidays, but knew it was only a cheery facade to hide the dysfunction that lay within the halls of the residence.
You knew the family all too well, having grown up next to Steve your entire life. You were the same age as him, grew up attending all the same parties as him, but ran in completely different circles than him — well, up until your senior year of high school at least.
Long story short, being best friends with Robin led to you ultimately becoming so-called friends with Steve Harrington as well. The two of you had what you now called a stupid summer fling before you left for Chicago in August, but the rest was history. The two of you had agreed to stay civil and not let the remnants of any unresolved feelings come between your friendship and the rest of the friend group.
So here you were, knocking on Steve Harrington’s front door on a random Wednesday in late November, cookies in hand as you stood there, shivering. You faintly hear Robin say that she would get the door, then hear footsteps pad towards the entrance.
You’re greeted by your best friend with the strongest hug you swear you’ve ever experienced, and you feel like you might not ever be let go if she has anything to say about it.
“Oh my god! I missed you so much.” Robin exclaims, the widest grin on her face as she grabs for your hand, “everyone’s in here, we’re just waiting on Nance and Jonathan then we’ll be ready to eat but come in! I have so much to tell you about everything you don’t even know—”
You follow behind her wordlessly, smiling to yourself as she rambles on about college applications and band and Vickie — who just so happened to be in the kitchen helping finish making the mashed potatoes so you had to be quiet — and everything that she can think to fit in a conversation to catch her best friend up on after months without. She leads you to the dining room after dropping off the cookies, where you hear two familiar voices having a very passionate conversation.
“I’m telling you, man, I’m cursed—“
“You’re not cursed, Harrington. I’m telling you, you’re just looking in the wrong place for love.” Eddie retorts to his frustrated friend, rolling his eyes at him.
“Oh yeah? And where should I be looking?” Steve snorts, haphazardly tossing forks, knives and spoons atop the napkin at each seat of the table.
“I’ve been saying ever since what happened this summer, you should be going after — oh shit, Y/N!” Eddie interjects, cutting himself off when you trail in behind Robin.
The metalhead pulls you in for a bear hug, whispering in your ear about how he promises not to ask you boring questions about college like everyone else. As you’re being engulfed in his embrace, you hear the sound of silverware tumbling to the ground from the other side of the table, followed by a string of mumbled curse words from the dropper.
You pull away from Eddie’s hug to look at where the noise is coming from, only to see Steve fumbling with a fork and spoon while trying to stand up from where he was just kneeling. Your gaze lingers on him for a moment too long, taking in everything about him that you told yourself you didn’t miss. Eddie gives you a knowing look and you roll your eyes, knowing that he’s trying to tell you to not make things weird, so you try your best.
“Stevie, how are you?” you call to him while walking around the table, putting on the best oblivious and excited face that you can.
“H-Hey, Y/N.” Steve says, feigning coolness as he pulls you in for a quick hug, nearly stumbling over his words when you use the nickname you always loved to tease him with, “I didn’t know you were coming tonight.”
His eyes flicker over to Robin momentarily, who shoots him a guilty grin before mouthing ‘sorry’ over your shoulder.
“Yeah, it was kinda last minute on my part, I just so happened to be coming home tonight since my finals were all at the beginning of the week. I kinda forced Rob to tell me when it would be so I could crash it,” you lie, trying to throw the blame on yourself instead of her, “sorry if I messed anything up, I-I’ll lay low and won’t eat if that messes up numbers or something—“
“No!” Steve rushes to retort, shaking his head at you adamantly, “I mean, shit—sorry. No, you’re not messing anything up at all, you know you’re always welcome here.”
The smile on Steve’s face is genuine as he speaks, but there’s a glint of sadness in his eyes while he scans yours for any sign of hesitancy. You give him a small smile in return, quickly moving your gaze from his to push down that sinking feeling in your chest you know is coming. Your chest aches as you focus your eyes downward, realizing that this night would be a lot harder than you had convinced yourself that it would be.
“Well!” Robin interjects, interrupting the growing awkward silence filling the air of the dining room where you stood. She reached for your hand while smiling over at you sympathetically, beginning to drag you towards the kitchen as she spoke, “gotta go say hello to everyone else before dinner!”
Your best friend whirled you around to the rest of the guests–which was just Nancy, Jonathan, and Vickie–who were all in the kitchen putting the finishing touches on the meal.
A slew of awkward questions about Chicago ensued in the moments leading up to and during dinner, but you took them in stride as they distracted you from the bright eyed boy across the table who kept sneaking glances in your direction any chance he got. You explained your major, what you did for work outside of class time, and talked about all the new friends you met in the short few months you’d been gone. You could’ve sworn Steve’s jaw clenched at the mention of a date you went on prior to leaving for break, but you didn’t put too much thought into it.
Dinner goes by fairly quickly, and then it’s time for Secret Santa gifts in the living room. Robin begged everyone to participate, and even went through the effort of making sure you and Steve didn’t get each other, partly to not ruin the surprise of you being here and partly to diminish any awkwardness that might arise from it.
You had drawn Jonathan’s name, so you gifted him a few rolls of different camera film. Each person had to guess who their Secret Santa was, but apparently your gift was pretty obvious since he hadn’t been able to find any film like it anywhere near Hawkins, so he guessed you first.
Your turn rolled around and a small red gift bag was sat in your lap. You immediately knew who your gift was from, halfway from the grin plastered on his face and halfway from the smell lingering from inside the back in your hands.
“Thank you, Eddie.” you giggle out while pulling out four perfectly rolled blunts from the gift bag, courtesy of the best dealer in Hawkins.
“It’s always a pleasure,” he jabs back, “we can fire one up after presents if you’d like.”
You nod quickly at him, grinning widely before turning back to the circle where Robin was handing out gifts.
—————————
It’s not long before drinks are flowing and laughter is spilling through the Harrington residence, something that’s happened very few times within those halls. The night seems to go by too quickly, you notice how quickly when you check and it says 11 P.M. already, even though it feels like you’ve only been there a few hours. You’re sitting on the couch with Robin and Vickie, giggling their way through a story about some guy in the Hawkins band, when the sight of the back door sliding open and closed catches your eye.
You turn your gaze to see Steve stalking into the cold on his own, head turned down as he walks towards one of the ice-slicked pool chairs on the deck. A frown passes over your face as you furrow your brows, excusing yourself from the couple on the couch as you slip outside to follow him with your bottle of wine, one of your newly gifted blunts and a lighter in hand.
It’s the last thing you should be doing tonight, really. You shouldn’t be following Steve Harrington – the man who was too afraid to say he loved you and too afraid to commit to you – onto the porch. You should’ve stayed inside and drank some more wine with the rest of them and let yourself cut loose for once, but you just couldn’t do it. You just had to talk to him – you weren’t so sure what you wanted to talk about, but you just felt the need to.
“You alright?” was all you could slip out as you closed the sliding glass door, watching the brown haired boy from afar, making sure you weren’t making the wrong decision.
“Yeah–Yeah, just needed a little bit of fresh air.” Steve stammered, eyes widening for only a moment when he notices that it’s you that followed him outside.
You only hum in response, stepping closer to him as you sense no annoyance or anger in his voice, finding a spot on the chilled pool chair next to his. After setting down the bottle of wine you’d been nursing throughout the night, you took the blunt you’d brought as a peace offering between your fingers and waved it in front of his face.
Steve looked up for a moment, gaze shifting between the blunt between your fingers and your lips that curled up into a mischievous yet friendly smirk. His own lips perked up in a lopsided smile, raising an eyebrow at you when you brought the blunt to your lips, followed by the lighter.
“Would you like to partake?” you joke while puffing smoke through your lips, mixing with the cold puffs of breath coming from Steve’s.
“I’ll never say no to that,” he retorts, reaching to grab the blunt from your fingers.
There’s a breath of comfortable silence between the two of you as he inhales, then lets out a long exhale before focusing his gaze back onto the pool in front of him, onto the ice forming on the pool cover as a way to avoid your eyes.
“So, how’s the Stevie Harrington been faring since I’ve been gone?” you joked after a moment more of the quiet, shoving any nerves down that were threatening to force you to run back inside.
Awful, utterly dull and extremely depressing, was what Steve wanted to say.
He wanted to tell you how he fucked up so badly, how he hasn’t been the same since the last time he saw you, how he hasn’t even been able to look at anyone without thinking of you. He wanted to grab you by the cheeks and pull you in for a kiss and never let go. He wanted to scream and tell you how much he regretted ever letting you leave without knowing how he really felt, but he couldn’t now. It was too late, so he just said; “Oh, y’know. I’ve been fine. Just the same shit, different day.”
Steve wanted to kick himself for saying something so lame, something so uninteresting when the most interesting person in the world was sitting right in front of him.
“Does ‘same shit, different day’ just mean you’re stuck being the same old chauffeur-babysitter you’ve been for the last two years?” you tease, reaching down to grab the bottle of wine at your feet.
“Yeah, I guess you could say that.” Steve chuckled, giving you a warm smile as he took another puff.
It only took a few moments to finally break the ice between the two of you, then things fell right back into place, right back into a comfortable normalcy. There was something that put you so at ease being outside with him, being able to talk to him without the looming thought of who would be the first to say “I love you” or who would be the first to leave waving over both of your heads.
The next hour went by in a breeze, and it seemed the party inside died down by the time the two of you decided to walk back in. Steve closed the sliding glass door behind you two and you noticed only Eddie and Robin were left standing in the living room. Vickie was presumably in the guest bed, where Robin was about to head to. Jonathan and Nancy had left twenty minutes prior, only popping their heads out to say a quick goodbye before driving off.
Robin said a quick goodnight to you before heading up the stairs, along with a promise to see you tomorrow for a girl’s day. Then, it was just you, Eddie and Steve in the living room, Eddie at the couch setting up his bed for the night while the two of you stood in silence by the sliding glass door still.
“I–I guess I should probably head home for the night,” you say, breaking the silence between the three of you as you start towards your bag and coat on the other side of the room.
“Why don’t you just stay?” Steve interjects a little too loudly, the weed and wine in his system instilling some false confidence in him. “It’s so cold out and I’m sure at this point your parents already think you’re staying anyways.”
You stop on your toes at Steve’s voice, cheeks heating at how interested he sounded in you staying there for the night. It’s not like it was a far and dangerous walk, Steve just wanted an excuse to be around you for longer. You turn around to look at him, then to Eddie, who was giving you a tired smile.
“We can have a sleepover on the couch,” Eddie chuckles, reaching for one of the pillows he was setting out for himself to move it to the other side of the couch for you.
“I don’t have any clothes,” you suggest, looking down at your velvet dress that would be extremely uncomfortable to sleep in.
“Oh, I’m sure Stevie has some clothes that you can sleep in!” Eddie says, shooting a smirk in his direction.
“O–Of course I do, I’m sure I still have your favorite pajama pants up there if you want them.” Steve says hurriedly, as if you would change your mind if he didn’t answer quickly enough.
You give the two of them a smile, pretending to contemplate the decision for a moment before nodding. You could’ve sworn you heard Steve let out a breath of relief at your nod, but he turned towards the stairs before you could acknowledge it. Without a word, you follow right behind him up the stairs, slowly realizing the effects of the cherry wine and weed are coming to the surface.
Steve steps into his bedroom and you follow behind him, a situation the two of you knew all too well.
—————————
You don’t know what led to this, but there you were, in Steve’s bedroom, him towering over your space on his bed as he pulled you in for a heated kiss. Tongue against teeth, hands against cheeks, legs tangled together, just like they were meant to be.
This wasn’t supposed to happen, you swore to yourself you wouldn’t come crawling back every time you were in town, but here you were.
Somehow coming upstairs for a stupid pair of pajamas led to Steve giving you that look of lust and utter desire, led to you becoming a willing participant in his games once again after swearing you would never touch him again, led to you letting him sneak his way into your heart – and pants – yet again.
Your head is spinning as he kisses you, his lips slotted into yours like they belonged there, a perfect fit. You’re unsure if it’s the wine, the weed or the sheer yearning that’s making you feel like this, but you don’t want it to stop any time soon.
There’s a gnawing feeling in your stomach when Steve props his knee up on the bed next to your hip, you know you should stop before he gets any further, but the ache between your thighs is outweighing any thought of what would come after he spreads you open.
Steve groans into your mouth when you pull him closer, fingers intertwining with and tugging the hair at the nape of his neck, and you only smirked against his lips in satisfaction. You knew everything about the boy who was turning to a puddle just from the touch of your fingers. You knew exactly how to make him tick, and him the same for you.
“Fuck,” Steve breathes when he finally pulls away from you, full lips parted as he stares down at you. There’s a twinkle in his eye that you haven’t seen in so long, one you used to mistake for love but now only know to be pure lust. “I–I’m sorry I just, I need–I need you.”
You stare at the desperate, doe-eyed man in front of you for a long moment, mind wandering to a place of fear as you think about what you’re about to do.
Instead of saying anything in reply, you close the space between the two of you once again, smashing your lips into his in a feverish and bruising kiss. Steve is on you in an instant, gently pushing you back and up on the bed, letting your head fall on his pillows. You can tell by the way he stumbles on his way up to you that he’s intoxicated — on the weed or the wine, or you, you’re not sure — but you soon realize that you are too.
A hand wanders toward the hem of Steve’s sweater, tugging at it quickly as he pulls away from the bruising kiss. He wastes no time in pulling the cable-knit up and over his head, tossing it to the side while sitting up on his knees to take you the sight of you in. Your skin was hot and your eyes were blown with lust, cheeks flushed and lips parted as you stared up at him.
You’d only been under him for a minute and had completely folded to his touch. You cursed yourself for letting your inhibitions crumble so quickly, but another part of you didn’t actually care, the same part of you that wanted to claim him as yours forever.
Steve’s eyes trailed over you, from your cheeks to the low neckline of your dress, over the curve of your hips, ending on your thighs spread on either side of his knees. The crushed velvet of your skirt bunched where your leg met your hip, letting the fabric ride up enough for Steve to see exactly what he was searching for.
He sucked in a breath at the sight of your white lace underwear beneath, having to hold himself back from diving in right that second.
“You’re so beautiful,” he groaned, hands tracing over your hip bones while lowering his lips to yours once again.
A moan falls from your lips as his meet yours, his knee coming up between your thighs, creating friction against your core.
“Fuck—Stevie,” you say, choking back a pitiful whine while grinding against his thigh desperately, “please, I need you.”
You swear you hear Steve nearly choke at your words, three words he’d been dying to hear from you for months.
“I know, I know, baby.” he coos at you, trying to keep his cool as he strains against his pants, “I’ll take care of you.”
You nod feverishly as he leans down to pepper kisses along your neck, taking his sweet time while trying not to get drunk off the scent of you.
“This—This doesn’t mean anyth—this doesn’t change anything,” he stammers between kisses, peering up at you as he speaks, “we can still stay close—keep being friends after this.”
You hum in agreement, ignoring the dread building in your gut as you do. You want to be more than friends, you want to scream at him until he admits that he loves you too. But he nearly said it doesn’t mean anything, so you’re convinced he wants nothing to do with you after tonight, nothing but a friend to laugh with and a pretty face to fuck on every break from college.
You push the thoughts from your mind, focusing on the boy in front of you as his hands begin to massage your inner thighs, inching closer and closer to your core with every circle. Steve chuckles lowly as you let out a whine of anticipation, teasing you silently as he gives in to your desires.
Steve knows your body like he knows his own, so what comes after pulling off your dress is nearly second nature to him. One large hand trails to the waistband of your underwear while the other reaches for your breast, nipple peaked from the exposure to the cold air conditioning. You moan in surprise when he wastes no time in putting his mouth to work on your other nipple, tugging your underwear down your legs simultaneously.
His fingers immediately fall to your core once you’re free of the underwear, fingertips circling the bundle of nerves at the top as you let out another whimper.
His moves are careful but quick, he knows you want to waste no more time, and you’ll whine about his teasing if he doesn’t act soon.
He’s out of his boxers in an instant, one hand keeping contact with your clit as he situates himself above you.
“You look so good like this, sweetheart.” Steve says, voice low as his eyes raked over your body, “so pretty spread out for me, all fucked out for me even though I’ve barely touched you.”
“Stevie…” you whimper, reaching a hand up to him, but he pulls from your reach with a smirk across his face.
“Tell me what you want from me,” he says, leaning down to press a kiss to your cheek as he lines himself up with your slick, teasing the tip against you slowly.
“I—I need you, Steve.” you beg, cheeks flushing at the admittance, “I need you to fuck me, please.”
“Well, since you asked so nicely.” he retorts with a smirk, sliding into you with ease.
You both let out a low moan as he bottoms out, filling you in a way you haven’t felt in a long time. You forgot how thick he was in the time you’d been gone, your body wasn’t used to the stretch of his cock inside you, but it still felt like he was meant to be there. Like he was the only one who could make you feel this way.
And you were right, nobody could make you feel that way. Nobody else could touch you and make you fall apart in less than five minutes like he could. Nobody else could get you so riled up over a few praises thrown in with some condescension (which you embarrassingly loved too much) like he could. Nobody could hold off from cumming long enough to give you three orgasms before getting one of their own like he could.
Nobody did it like he could.
This doesn’t mean anything you repeat in your mind, clinging to his arm like your life depended on it after the two of you calmed your breathing and cleaned up. You weren’t sure if you were repeating those words to convince yourself or to ease your own mind about what just went down, but you knew they stung your heart more than any fighting words the two of you had ever exchanged.
“I missed this, cuddling with you, holdin’ you like this.” was all he slurred out against your hair, pressing a sleepy kiss into the crown of your head.
“Yeah, me too.” you mumble in return, accepting the warmth of his embrace as sleep finally took you in, ignoring the gnawing pain growing in your chest.
—————————
The spice of Steve’s cologne mixes with the familiar scent of his room, filling your senses when you wake, nearly sending you into a panic. You sit upright in the bed, turning to face the boy you claimed you wanted nothing to do with romantically just a few hours ago. Steve is sleeping peacefully next to you, plush lips parted and brows furrowed as he subconsciously pouts about the loss of your touch. The alarm clock behind him read 2:03 A.M., meaning you hadn’t been out for too long, but long enough to sober you up somehow.
Shit. Shit. Shit. I gotta get out of here. Is all you can think as you stumble out from under the comforter, knowing you would never live it down if anyone found you’d slept in his bed, especially with your limbs entangled like they just were. You quickly dress in the clothes you’d originally come into the bedroom to fetch, and snuck out of the bedroom without a sound.
Before making it to the living room, you turned toward the dimly lit kitchen for a glass of water. What you weren’t expecting to be faced with in the kitchen was Eddie, but there he was, leaning against the counter with disheveled hair that probably mirrored your own.
“What a night so far, huh?” he jokes as you shoot him a knowing glare while trudging across the tiled floor.
“Don’t even start with me, Munson.” you warn, absentmindedly reaching your hand up to the cabinet for a glass while shaking your head.
“Woah, don’t get that attitude with me! I didn’t say anything,” he laughs, setting his own glass into the sink, “but that also doesn’t mean I didn’t hear anything.”
“You did not,” you snap back, eyes wide and cheeks flushed with embarrassment as he gives you a shit-eating grin, “there’s no way you heard anything because nothing happened.”
“You’ve always been such a bad liar, Y/N.” Eddie laughs, stepping out of the kitchen to walk towards the living room where the two of you would be sleeping.
A sigh escapes your lips when Eddie leaves, letting you be alone with your thoughts finally. There was an ache in your chest that wasn’t going away any time soon, and it was in that moment that you wondered if you would ever be able to get over Steve Harrington, or if you would be in a continuous cycle of hurt and comfort for the rest of your damned life.
You collected your thoughts as you downed a glass of water, throwing back two ibuprofens with the last chug for good measure, before finding your way back to the living room. Eddie was on his side on the long side of the L-shaped couch, leaving the shorter side for you to sleep on. His eyes were closed as you laid down with your feet next to his own, but you knew he wasn’t asleep yet.
“I won’t tell anyone, I promise.” you heard through the darkness after turning off the table lamp once you were settled.
“I know.” you sigh in return, staring up at the ceiling that was only lit by the streetlights flowing in from outside. “I just don’t want to live like this forever, I–I can’t keep being the secret that Steve is too embarrassed to talk about.”
“He’s not embarrassed of you,” Eddie said, voice barely above a whisper, just loud enough for you to hear, “he’s just afraid of fucking everything up even more than he already has.”
If only he could say that to my face, then maybe I’d believe it, you thought to yourself, chest tightening at just the thought of the brown-eyed boy who was fast asleep upstairs.
You don’t reply to Eddie, unsure of what to say back, unsure of what you could squeak out without breaking down.
“Goodnight, Eds,” is all you say in return, though you know you won’t be getting any sleep.
“Goodnight, Y/N.”
—————————
After falling asleep for all of fifty minutes around 5 in the morning, you decided you had to leave.
The entirety of the almost four hours you laid on Steve’s couch consisted of staring at the ceiling and fighting off tears while thinking about how you regretted everything you said and did over the last twelve hours.
Coming to the Harrington house was a mistake, even stepping foot back in Hawkins was feeling like a mistake at this point.
The only words repeating in your mind were This doesn’t mean anything. This doesn’t mean anything. This doesn’t mean anything.
You eventually had enough of the self-loathing and inability to sleep, so it was time to go. It was time to hastily change out of the pajamas that smelled too much like the boy you loved too hard, and time to go collapse in your own bed. There was no telling if you’d actually fall asleep once you made it there, but that was beside the point.
It was when you finally made it back to your parent’s house, to your childhood bedroom, that you swore that you wouldn’t see Steve Harrington again for the rest of Thanksgiving break, and hopefully would avoid seeing him again for a long while, for the sake of saving yourself from another heartbreak.

The one where Trent falls asleep against a window and his sister falls asleep on Jude Bellingham’s shoulder.
pairing: jude bellingham x fem!reader
warning: not proofread
p.s: first time writing a bellingham fic!
Jude risked a glance over the top of her head at Trent. His friend was, thankfully, fast asleep with his headphones plugged in and arms crossed tightly across his chest. Trent’s sister was in an equally blissful state of slumber, but unlike her brother she didn’t have the side of her face comically jammed up against the glass.
Jude wished he could reach into his pocket to grab his phone and snap a photo, because this was picture perfect blackmail material for the future. But there was no way he’d move a single muscle in fear of jostling awake the woman sandwiched between the pair of footballers.
She’d fallen asleep as soon as Trent ushered her into the middle seat, body slack and head falling sideways barely a minute into the journey.
Right onto Jude’s shoulder.
Okay, that was a lie.
The man had turned his head at the slight bump to his side, pausing briefly as he saw that she was sound asleep, the tiniest dent of irritation between her brows as her body attempted to readjust into a more comfortable position.
Their day at the carnival must have taken a lot more out of her than he had thought. This had been her first trip to Madrid, and the sheer intensity of the heat had been tough on someone who had grown up in the abysmal weather conditions of Liverpool.
For such a cheerful personification of sunshine as herself to fall asleep on the train ride back to the city… Jude found himself frowning at his lack of perception.
He would have cut the entire day short if she’d asked him to, no questions asked. He would have gotten down a car, left Trent with the rest of the group and walked her right to her hotel room, the media be damned.
Jude wasn’t sure if it was the jet lag, but she hadn’t been sleeping all too well. Trent had mentioned that this holiday was a much needed escape from her studies. She was in the final year of her undergraduate degree and teetering on the edge of a serious burnout. Assignments had left her a yawning mess and dragging her feet as she followed her big brother to Madrid for a much needed weekend of fun.
Trent was so busy strong-arming his sister into joining him on all the rides that he hadn’t noticed her rapidly depleting energy.
There was a noticeable loss of bounce in her step, her big beautiful brown eyes hadn’t sparkled in a hot minute, and her voice was quiet. Jude found himself missing her a lot more than he believed was acceptable - as far as missing one of his best mate’s sisters was allowed.
When they get back to the hotel, Jude made a promise to himself to snatch the laptop from her room and hold it hostage for the rest of the weekend.
If she refused to take care of herself, then he would.
Brought back to the present at the way her head threatened to detach itself from her neck at the way it kept falling forward, Jude decided that his next move was the chivalrous thing to do and cajoled her head to rest on his shoulder. A smile threatened to break out on his face when she immediately snuggled into his side, cheek resting comfortably on his shoulder.
With a cautionary glance at Trent, who was fogging up a storm on the window he was snoring on, Jude raised a hand to gently tuck a few wayward curls behind her ear, fingers tracing the apple of her cheek as they did so.
Her nose twitched as she sighed in contentment.
The moment was witnessed by an older woman who was making her way down the aisle, her red-faced husband toting a multitude of colorful bags behind them. With a cheeky smile in place, she craned her neck to mumble something to the older gentleman, who quickly looked at them and nodded in agreement before urging her to move on.
Now Jude was by no means anywhere near fluent in Spanish yet, but he knew enough to piece some words together. The woman had called them a beautiful couple.
Just the mere thought of her as his girlfriend was enough for a rush of heat to colour his cheeks and set the tips of ears on fire. As the train entered a tunnel, the compartment was immediately swallowed into a brief moment of darkness.
She stirred awake at the jarring change of brightness as they exited the tunnel.
Blinking, she realised that her cheek was smushed against something solid and warm. Peering up, she locked gazes with an amused Jude.
He wiggled his eyebrows at her. “Morning,” he greeted. The low rumble of his voice was powerful enough to send an electric shock wave down her spine and jumpstart her brain to assess the situation.
Oh God. Had she been drooling on Jude Bellingham’s shoulder?
She sprung back as if electrocuted, eyes wide as she smacked a hand on her chin to make sure there wasn’t any drool. Whipping her head around to see that her brother was practically dead to the world, she turned back to groan pitifully at the sheer embarrassment of the moment. “Oh my God, Jude, I’m so sorry!”
Her relationship with her brother’s friend had grown somewhat complicated over the years, the two of them tiptoeing around each other in the rare moments they would be alone in a room. They’ve been friends for so long, but something had changed at some point in time, and she was too afraid of Trent’s reaction to dare explore the shift in this relationship. Crushes were fleeting, but Trent’s ability to hold a grudge certainly was not.
Jude merely shook his head. Taking advantage of the woman floundering over what exactly to do next, he stretched his arm behind her frame to pull her closer to his side. And then, with the utmost caution, he placed a hand on her cheek. The heat radiating from his palm sent a shiver down her spine, while the softness of her skin dried up his throat to an extent that he had to swallow down the nerves threatening to break the innocent of this moment.
“Jude—”
“It’s fine,” he cut her off and gently pushed her head back onto his shoulder. “Go back to sleep. I’ll wake you up at our stop.”
It was the softest she’d ever heard him speak, and it made her limbs feel like jelly. “Um… really?” She whispered, unable to bring herself to look up at him. A good thing, perhaps, as she would have found it amusing to see the Jude Bellingham blush a curious shade of fire engine red.
Jude, of course, was trying so desperately not to hyperventilate at the way she basically slumped bonelessly against his side at his gentle command. The arm that was perched comfortably on her shoulder dropped down to curl around her waist, a hand finding solace on the sliver of skin left exposed to the cool air.
The sensation of warm fingers tracing patterns on her skin sent a bolt of electricity through her body, lighting a fire in her chest that she didn’t know existed in the first place. As warm as ever, she turned her head to press her face into his shoulder. “You don’t mind?” She mumbled into his shirt.
“Nah.” His reply was simple and instantaneous. His voice sounded contemplative, as if coming to a realisation he had not yet realised he had to perceive.
And when he ducked his head to press a kiss on her forehead, she felt her toes curl in sheer delight, any thought of confusion and any semblance of hesitancy dissipating in the feeling of the most delicate kiss she’d ever received.
“I don’t mind.”
Oh. Trent was going to kill them.
