Damiar still wasn’t quite sure how to feel about Jadyn being in town - about Jadyn miraculously being alive again - it just made him feel uneasy. Not only the fact that he thought he’d been dead all this time, but the fact Jadyn had let him believe it. He’d only told a few people about the ‘death’. However, he’d yet to explain to anyone that his ghost of a friend had made an appearance in town. He’d thought maybe the first time he’d been imagining the whole thing, but when Jadyn showed up at the hike, he knew it all had to be true, but why? Why now? Dami had texted Fi earlier that day while they were at work to let her know he needed to talk to her and was currently waiting at the park for her, Dodger laying at his feet. He’d been so lost in thought that at first, he didn’t even realize she had shown up until he felt someone touch his shoulder which caused him to jump. Dodge hadn’t been bothered by her since he knew her so well. “Fi!” He yelped as he realized it was her, letting out a small sigh of relief. “Sorry, been kind of on edge lately.”

“I trust you,” Damiar chuckled as he crossed his arms over his chest, raising an eyebrow at his fellow healer. “Why can’t you trust me just this once?” The two of them had been incredibly busy lately with work, and they were finally getting a little time off before having to be back at work the next day. Their days off hadn’t been overlapping very often lately and so when he had seen they were going to today, he’d made some plans for the day to hopefully spend a relaxing day with his friend. It seemed they hadn’t spent much time together since graduations Hogwarts, both making sure they were ready to work and then being piled up with work almost immediately. It was actually quite nice, he enjoyed what he did. Where they were going to be going throughout the day, Damiar had decided to keep a secret. “I promise, you will have tons of fun though. So, please let me do this one thing for you? You won’t regret it.”

Damiar had always loved the fairs that any town held, it gave him a chance to check out the many different places the town to offer as well as made it easy to donate money to a great cause. He was currently helping out with a cause of his own as he was helping the shelter get some adoptions set up. He’d just finished up with an adoption of a elder dog when he saw Fi approaching, his smile growing. “I know you’re to pick me up, and I swear I’ll be ready in like five minutes, but any chance you want to adopt one of the cute fellas we have here today?”

“Have I ever told you how amazing you are?” Damiar questioned as he met up with Ophelia. His other plans had been cancelled at last minute and he some how got Fi to agree to spend the day with him instead. “I figured we could get lunch and then maybe do some local shopping.” He suggested, smiling at her. “Maybe also go to one of the tattoo shops later and check out some designs. I’m thinking about getting another one soon.”

“oh?” ophelia asked, looking at him. “i mean um i sure.” she said, nodding her head as she looked at him. “what time would you like me to meet you there or would you like to meet me here and we can go up together?” she asked. hanging out with her ex was risky, but fi wanted them to grow close again. she missed him.

Damiar chuckled softly at Fi’s words, nodding their head a bit. “Of course I do, it’s just,” he paused, letting out a soft sigh. “It’s been a while, you know? Since we’ve done this.” Not that they were complying, it was something that had been missed all this time. Damiar had once been in love with Ophelia, and even though they tried to push the feelings away, they had always still been there. Especially recently as they started spending more time together. “I’ve missed this too, I’ve missed all of this. But never was I too good for you,” It was something they never really admitted to, except they were sure some of their friends could still see it. A kiss wasn’t what Damiar had been expecting, but his lips still pressed to hers gently, kissing her back softly.

Dami relaxed a little as Fi took the seat beside him, his body relaxing to not be so tense. Being alone gave him too much time to think about things, being around one of his friends always kept him calm. “Uh,” he took a breath in. “Do you remember that story I told you?” Dami asked, gaze meeting Fi’s. “The one about my friend and the fire.”

“yeah.” fi said, nodding her head slightly. she moved to lean her head against his shoulder and closed her eyes so she could listen to him. “what about it?” she asked quietly. “everything okay?” she asked, frowning slightly. this wasn’t a good way to start a conversation.
