So. I liked some of the tags and gave it a shot.
No one but them knows they know each other.
Not even mother is aware of easily Danyal morphed into Phantom. As far as she and everyone else is aware, Danny is an ecto-contaminated human whose adoptive parents are ghost hunters.
Damian… check in on Danny by keeping tabs on him. Only once out of the league, of course. Danyal was inferior; a number of animals distrusted him and his rough handling when they were small. His carelessness made him an unfit heir, and a mark on the Al Ghul family best disposed of…
Mother gave him up. Used one of her older aliases and closed the adoption.
Damian was told the family, a pair of ecto-inventors fashioning themselves as scientists. The parents had successfully made portals to parallel universes, yes continued to fail at recreating a portal to what they called the ‘Ghost Zone’.
Brilliant failures that fit his twin.
His brother would not know blood on his hands. He noted he was still brilliant, a known clutz outside of the lab and a social pariah for not denouncing his adoptive parents’s ideas.
Sometimes he was disgusted with that blind loyalty. When he felt introspective on the matter, he covered every mirror in his room.
His twin looked like Father.
He laughed easy and befriended two misfits; a gothic ultra recyclo vegetarian with a knack for photography and horticulture, and a brilliant coder lacking any social grace.
The three look… happy together.
His adoptive sister and him are close; Jasmine reminding him of who is cooking which days and the pair having arguments that never shake the house down the way Father’s other children do.
His adoptive parents… adore him, unconditionally as Fenton. Dragging him to events, asking his opinion on inventions ans citing him as a contributor in their bigoted papers as a lab assistant and even allowing his dissenting opinions to be published.
Then Phantom appeared and Damian. Damian had to watch from afar as his twin, the one loved by the rejects surrounding him, grew into powers and an influence that should not fit him. Pictures of him with draconic royalty, popstars and even taking out godly entities from this ‘Ghost Zone’ made their rounds.
His twin moved with ease in combat, as soon as gravity was optional. Why dodge bodily when you can reshape your form to avoid the hit? Why learn weaponry for years when you can shoot lasers from any point on your person? Why bother with training when everything came naturally?
And to make it worse, even his twin’s rogues showered him in affection, envied his powers and often encouraged his power development while they fought. The more deadly the force used, the more his enemies respected him. Especially Plasmius.
His twin made light of every fight. It was easy for him. He was strong enough for everything to come easily, naturally and so Robin-like.
Damian despises that about Phantom. Phantom would have fit in with Father’s children of choice. He would have been choice. Damian was a duty he never desired.
Phantom would have been so like Grayson and Drake and even upheld Todd’s sunny disposition and sociability had their positions been reversed.
Damian knows he would not be given that easy acceptance. He has always earned his place. So why does Danyal never have to?
Danny can admit that getting his powers was the worse thing to happen to Amity since his parents settled in there. Only second worse thing for him—dying is secondary to your family saying you were a monster unfit for their line and must leave forever.
Jazz made it better; she chose him. So did the Fentons. Even on his prickliest days, they didn’t give up.
But now that he’s everything they hate? An ecto-entity that should be torn apart ‘molecule by molecule’? If Jazz hadn’t interrupted when he first realized it was powers, not side effects of death and revival by electrocution and a portal opening on him, he would not exist anymore.
But that’s all he has community-wise.
Sam is there out of guilt or her hero-complex some days. He can taste her regret, frustration and need to make change herself.
Sometimes he thinks Sampson let him near her because she was tired of Sam trying to break her out when she didnt want to deal with people in the first place. That or using ASL and ghost-speak worked in his favor.
Tucker has every reason to outgrow him. He cant even make it to all their hangouts with patrol and constant groundings. If he wasnt the backup for if Hotep took over again, he was sure Tucker would have ditched him by now. Danny wouldnt blame him—Tucker could run the technogeeks if Danny wasn’t holding him back.
Jazz… she needs to stop being his parent for her sake, and he knows it. She may blab about psychology all the time and he may mock her for it, but he still listens. And Jazz was parentified and needs to establish a sense of self apart from being Danny’s maternal figure and fixing their family. She deserves it, and he won’t blame her when she goes no contact or extremely low contact.
He’s not even human anymore. Not alive or dead. Schordinger’s screwup. Couldn’t stay dead or alive.
Perpetual failure and reject.
If he isnt strong enough to fix every problem from the portal, then why is he even allowed to exist?
No one wants him as a whole, only parts. Jazz wanted a companion and got a screwed up psuedo-son. Sam wanted a ride and die friend, and got a half ghost who doesn’t even want to be a hero, even if he does take responsibility for his actions 90% of the time as Phantom. Tucker wanted a best friend and got it, but Danny can feel the gap between them grow constantly.
He knows he’ll be left behind.
Just like he knows the Fenton parents will crucify him if he ever tells them. He’s an academic failure and can hear Grandfather’s disapproval with every time he fails to not succumb to mortal needs during class.
Somedays he wishes he was chosen by Grnadfather, because he’s the only one who might have chosen him. Why would Batman want the defective twin? Or his kids dealing with Danny’s disinterest in combat and investigation?
Damian can’t even see how readily everyone accepts him as Robin. How many people are willing to be there in a heartbeat to help with anything.
Frostbite only sees him as the Great One of prophecy. Dora calls him her knight and a savior of her kingdom. Clocky won’t help unless it benefits his obsession with perfect timelines.
Vlad wants him to kill Jack and be his son. He hates knowing that fresh out of the al Ghuls, he would have taken it just to be someone’s first choice.
Hell, even his classmates only like him when he’s dead. The town hates him either way.
And he can’t even vent to anyone about it. Not without being an ungrateful brat.
He’s a ghost AND a living human. He’s an al Ghul by brith, but Fenton by law. He’s the protector of Amity and hated by his city for being a ghost. He’s hated by ghosts for not letting them ‘cut loose’ on the mortal realm, and hated by the mortals for existing.
He’s doesn’t have a home, just a deathtrap house that tried to kill him.
And when the JL finally acknowledged the shit he’d been through, it was to tell him ‘good job’ and inform him he was ‘on call’ when he was drowning in duty and responsibility.
What’s one more to the load?
Spectra grinned when she found her favorite little morsel, Phantom. His abandonment and isolation issues ran oh so deliciously deep.
She was going to get this Gotham Academy’s angst, but why got for scraps when a feast awaits her and Bertrand?
“Aw, has the freak with ghost powers come out to play?” Spectra called out, smiling as the boy raced after her.
“Lady, I do not have time for your mind games today, just get in the soup and you go back to the zone.” Ah, he’s exhausted before coming to her like a good meal. Perfect.
“Oh, you’d think after all that time we spent with your issues, that you’d know better by now Phantom—I don’t give up on my patients.” Bertrand lashed out at Phantom.
Phantom dodged Bertie. “More like your meals, seriously, just hit up a the nearest mental hospital and take what’s already there.”
“Stale, bland and boring. You know me, its so much fun taking from you teenage heart throbs, so much more going on and so little you can do about it.” she made to grab at him, but he’s still too on his game for her to land a blow. At least physically.
“Speaking of, have you come out to those parents of yours yet? The one you’re with now, not the ones that left you at the agency for being, what was it again, too much to deal with compared to that twin of yours? Do they even know about the powers yet, or are you still hiding behind the exposure excuse?”
Phantom faltered, but not enough for Bertie to keep a hold of him. Yet at least.
“For the hundredth time, none of your damn business!”
His shot was wider than usual, good. He’s getting to off kilter.
“Right, it was carelessness wasn’t it. A clumsy little boy that couldn’t meet grandpa’s expectations, and he wasnt so willing to forgive after his daughted baby daddy left her high and dry after their wedding night. Poor thing, had to get attached to another incompetent little man not worth her time, and she realized too late a second time. How long until your sister and friends do the same? You always did wonder about why they stuck oh so close to you. Have they woken up yet, or are they letting you dream a little longer?”
His next series of shots were harder and faster than usual. Good, he’s angry. And he always slips when that temper of his flares up.
“Aw, they’re letting you think you arent a creepy little boy who failed so often, even death wouldnt keep you. That’s so sweet of them. Such a charming act of commhnity service. Or is it to keep that other you from becoming reality? What dis you call him? Dan Phantom?”
The boy lunged for her.
Bertie caught him right on cue.
She rifled through his mind’s map and tugged on that juicy bit from the ‘Dan’ comment.
“That little murder monster that would have made your grandpa soooo proud of you! He even took out the that Justice League and your deadbeat father, didnt he? And oh, look how strong you act when you are utterly alone. No wonder no one wants you, all you do is fail people and destroy.”
“Shut up!”
“Aw, the truth hurts doesnt it? You mom abandoned you on her daddy’s word, your first dad left before meeting you and then your new family, well. Jazzy pants will leave once she remembers to save herself first. Those “parents” of yours are going to have so much fun tearing apart every one of your systems. A perfect specimen to show how terrible ghosties like me and Bertie really are, the creepy ghost boy with freaky powers walking around in their dead son’s corpse, so sad.”
“I’m not dead, i’m just liminal you—“
“Oh, it seems those silly Yeti put ideas in the stupid little freak’s head again. Liminals don’t exist anymore. They’ve been dead for five ghost king’s reigns. You? You’re just their death echo holding onto a ghost hunter’s child’s corpse, aren’t you? Why would your soul stick around when everyone always leaves you for bigger and better things? I’m sure that little Dami was relieved to know he’d never have to see you and watch your monumental failures ever again.”
Something was stuck in her, and the wall.
“Bertrand!”
She turned to see a brat standing there, and a sword sticking her to the wall.
“Tt.”
Great, the feast interrupted by another teen reeking of angst and daddy issues. Not even the fun kind.
Phantom threw that stupid thermos and the kid got her. Then bertie.
Danny didnt bother meeting Damian’s gaze.
“Thanks.”
“You shouldn’t have let up on your training.”
“I didn’t.” He tried to pull the rage back into its box.
“You haven’t, or else you would not have needed my assistance as a civilian Danyal.”
“Don’t. Just, don’t.”
“And what of it? You have proven your superior ability countless times before and yet two mid-level specters get the best of you?”
“Try having your mandatory therapist turn out to be trying to kill the only person that gave a damn about you and also be feeding iff everyone’s misery, and we can talk.”
“Like you have anything to talk about. You have the power to protect your loved ones without risking them, yet you still fail the basics.”
“Dami, i just had three diplomatic meetings and two rescues before catching Spectra at the beginning of her usual MO.”
“And? I could have handled it.”
“She makes her victims depressed and suicidal. She eats their freshly made shades.”
“And you told her to go to a mental hospital!”
“Loads of depression eaters do, take their fill and leave their victims alive and healing from everything. They also police one another in hospitals and mental wards for ‘sustainable food sources’ and have a no lethality or self harm perpetuation policies and rules. I can’t End either of them for what they are, but i can corral them to healthy alternatives. Now can i have my thermos back?”
Damian debated the merit of it.
“Come on, i have to get some sleep before i flunk my algebra test.”
“No. I will have Todd help me weld it shut and gift it to the JL Dark to handle them. If they are as dangerous as you say, this should be fine.”
“Damian, we are not in the Cradle anymore. Give me back my rogue’s containment device. Now.”
Damian clicked his tongue as he handed it over. “You act like it would endanger them.”
“Look up the Ghost Investigation Ward and then go over this while conversation… how much of all that did you—“
“Everything since your appearance.”
“Cool, just peachy keen!”
“I fail to see why you act as though they will oust you. You may as well be Superman to most of them anyways.”
“Yeah, well my parents are more Luthor goons than whatever Supes has going on. And don’t worry, i won’t bother your family any further Prince of the Bat.”
“I would expect nothing less.”
Danny left, wishing for once that stupid twin of his would see just how much power and responsibility isolated you, and how much better having community that sees you and will stand by you was. How alone he is on top of everyone willingly leaving him, and death being a question for him now.
Damian turned to return to lunch, wondering why his idiot twin refused to see the easy acceptance and love his personality granted him, and how his powers meant he’d never be the burden in need of saving or watching for ‘sliding back’ as he was to Father. Truly pathetic.
Al Ghul twin ramblings
Something really interesting about the dpxdc crossovers that have Danny and Damian as twins that I've never seen anyone talk about is the bit of mirroring imagery going on there.
Like, Danny is literally everything that the Wayne family, consciously or unconsciously, would give Damian grief for not being.
He's better socialized, easy to get along with, has the snappy banter and peppy attitude Robin was known for as well as a quick wit that helps him figure out clever ways to deal with difficult situations.
Damian has better training and the attitude rich socialites would expect from a child of a wealthy family, but he's not going to be able to fake the ease and friendliness of his predecessors for a long time, if ever. He's certainly made Robin his own, but he's never going to match up to the picture everyone has in their head of what Robin is supposed to be like.
Does Damian ever think about this? How, if their positions were swapped and Danny had been sent to their Father and he had been cast out to the Fentons, Danny might have taken to the mantle of Robin so much easier than he had?
and if that's true, could Damian say the same? Would he have been able to protect Amity Park while balancing school and a social life, all while keeping himself in check and only using non-lethal force?
Would he have even made it that far, or would he have run away at the first opportunity?
Would he have even been able to survive the accident Danny went through, or would he have burned to a crisp instead?

I need an AU where Danny and Tim accidentally become the most feared vigilante power couple in Gotham, and they don’t even realize it.
okay, listen—Tim is the master planner. He’s meticulous, always two steps ahead of the rogues, the League, even Batman. Then you’ve got Danny, who’s literally a half-ghost superhero with insane powers. And here’s the thing: they don’t mean to be terrifying. They’re just doing their thing, but together? Gotham villains are shaking.
Imagine Danny using his ghost powers to help Tim patrol. Tim’s grappling onto rooftops, doing his usual stealthy vigilante thing, and meanwhile, Danny’s just casually flying through walls and scaring the absolute crap out of criminals. They’re mid-heist, and suddenly, this glowing kid shows up, phasing through the vault door like it’s nothing. No one’s prepared for a ghost that can literally disappear and reappear wherever he wants, while Tim is in the shadows, taking them down one by one. It’s like horror movie levels of fear for Gotham’s rogues.
The rogues start trading horror stories about the ‘ghost that haunts Gotham’s streets.’ No one knows his name, but they’ve all seen him—pale, glowing, and grinning like he’s enjoying the chase a little too much. And right next to him? That’s Red Robin, cool as ever, silently calculating every move while his ghost partner freaks people out.
Even the Batfam starts to notice. At first, Bruce doesn’t think much of it. Tim’s been working with new people before. But when reports start coming in about how terrified the villains are—like, they’re surrendering before the fight even starts—Bruce is curious. Then he catches wind of the ghost rumors. Now that gets his attention.
Cue the Batfam having no idea what to do with this information. Dick thinks it’s hilarious—‘Timmy? Scary? No way.’ Jason’s a little jealous, not gonna lie—‘So you’re telling me Tim’s haunting the criminals of Gotham, and I’m not invited?’ And Damian? Damian respects it. Ghostly intimidation tactics are just practical in his eyes.
But Tim? Tim’s just trying to do his job. He doesn’t even realize they’ve become the city’s most terrifying duo. Meanwhile, Danny’s having the time of his life. Scaring bad guys? Sign him up. Especially when it makes Tim roll his eyes fondly every time Danny phases into a room with a smirk, all like, ‘What? It works, doesn’t it?’
And yeah, Danny absolutely does the ‘Boo!’ thing just to mess with people. Criminals are terrified, the Batfam is confused, and Tim is stuck between exasperation and amusement because of course his boyfriend is thriving on this ghostly reputation.
Give me a Tim and Danny who become an absolute nightmare to Gotham’s underworld. Give me a Tim who doesn’t realize he’s terrifying, and a Danny who knows it and leans in. Because Gotham deserves to be haunted by a ghost, and Danny’s just the guy for the job.

Dp x Dc Demon twins AU
He couldn’t help the dreadful apprehension building in his gut as he approached the disaster titled “Fenton Works”. The magazine that started this all was in his lap, twisted and worn.
“Genius Child of Genius Woman Discovers Gorilla Male Actually A Female!” the cover read.
The shock of seeing his twin brother’s face on the cover of a magazine with two adopted parents had taken Damian straight to his father, interrupting his work to shove the magazine in front of him.
It took only four days after the debut of the magazine featuring the discovery for the Waynes to converge on Amity Park.
It had to be a grab for their attention, of course. A magazine featuring the dead demon twin they missed the opportunity to ever meet.
Damian didn’t know what to expect from his long-dead twin. He mostly expected it to be a trick concocted by the league, having already met brainwashed clones of himself and his brother.
He hadn’t seen Danyal since he was eight years old and still naive to the league.
Damian was always the more skilled swordsman, the faster and stronger twin. The perfect soldier and heir.
But Danyal was the “spare”, always a few seconds slower, strength giving out just a few seconds before Damian’s did. He questioned too many things and that eventually led to his death during a mission for the league.
Of course, none of that mattered to Damian. As much as he liked being the older, better brother he much preferred having his twin by his side. Nights trading legends of the stars, whispered assurances and shared secrets.
Just before he could ring the doorbell, the door swung open and his look-alike tumbled out of the house.
“Yeah, I’ll be back by nine, mom!” Danyal yelled into the house, seemingly unaware of his guests as he tripped over his untied shoelace. He nearly bowled right into Damian, stopping just in time before hitting him.
“Whoa! Sorry!” Danyal straightened, pushing his messy hair out of his eyes. He opened his mouth to say something else but snapped it closed at the appearance of his twin.
Confusion, suspicion, and a whole myriad of expressions crossed his face, broadcasting his thoughts, before finally settling on— wonder.
“Dude, this is going to sound crazy, but you look, like, exactly like me.”
That was how Damian found out his brother was an amnesiac.
And an idiot.
They discovered Danyal’s identity as the town hero embarrassingly quickly, though his supposed parents didn’t notice when Phantom called them “Mo-Maddie!”
As a civilian he was cowed by an unintelligent Jock, unknowingly stalked by a crazed conspiracy theorist, and dated one of the many “ghost hunters” that targeted Phantom.
When Damian pointed all this out, Danny proudly let them know it was a “cover” to ensure no one would figure out his secret identity— the confident Phantom that got by on the bare bones of league instincts that remained and sheer dumb luck wasn’t the same as scaredy-cat Fenton.
His room was about as messy as Drake's, filled with the personality of a teenager untouched by the league. His friends and sister were filled with delusions of their best friend being a superhero with powers, rather than half-dead.
In a way, Damian was jealous Danyal could have such a normal life. He wasn’t weighed down by the death and pain he caused in the past.
In other ways, Damian was grateful he wasn’t naive enough to think his own parents hunting him was “fine” or their attempts to comit war crimes on an interdimensional species “wasn’t a big deal”.
Perhaps his relapse in judgment could be forgiven. It had been six years since Damian saw his brother, in the chaos of bringing Danyal back to the manor and sending Jasmine off to an elite boarding school at her request, it wasn’t amiss that Damian had forgotten a few key details about his brother.
Damian was always the more skilled swordsman, the faster and stronger twin. The perfect soldier and heir.
But Danyal?
He was an actor. He could lie, and charm and deceive better than any person Damian knew. Danyal played Mother, Grandfather and at times the entire league just to get his way.
But he never lied to Damian before.
At least, that was what Damian assumed, until an overcast Gotham day, where Danyal cornered Damian alone in the manor, eyes glowing an icey blue neither Phantom nor Fenton’s eyes ought to do. He wore a modern League of Assassins uniform, a familiar wakizashi blade formed from ice in his hand.
“Grandfather wants you to quit this rebellion and come home.”
Other details to this idea I want but couldn’t work in
-Danny has a secret secret identity that’s a rogue that gets shit done
-Danny is lowkey annoyed Sam and Tucker were there for the whole portal incident, otherwise, he could have kept Phantom a secret.
-Danny lived with the Fentons to steal their research and report back to Ra’s.
-Also as a punishment for, like, questioning the league or something.
-Danny resents Damian for being called the “spare” while Damian was the heir
-Ghost king stuff might be happening, but Danny has kept it on the DL so he could easily usurp Ra’s when he’s old enough

Prompt: Ghost are still considered non-sentient, which leads to people playing Pokémon with the ghost and unfortunately for Danny, he's basically a legendary with some high stats and it was only time before someone was able to snatch him up.
Ghost being more beasty or ethereal looking, they communicate through Ghost speak which just sounds like hisses/growls to other species. Danny looks like a Naga and communicates like one.
Warning: The Bats treating Phantom like a wild newly discovered creature species. Scientific discussions about his body in front of him, discussions about Ghosts possibly being able to breed because in Phantom form, Danny is duel gendered.
“How!?”
“Jealous?”, Jason watched in amusement as the youngest in the family fumed and stomped around, the kid honestly looked like an angry kitten. Not his fault he managed to snag the Ghost before the rest of them, besides it was in his Alley, so he had rights to it anyway.
Didn’t stop Damian from glaring and huffing about it being unfair, everyone else was either ignoring them or just rolling their eyes in expiration.
Not that he could blame the kid, catching Phantom was basically hitting the lottery, the Ghost was on the top of the list of most wanted. There were videos, essays, debates, everything on them from species type, to power sets, possible weaknesses, likely Obsessions…and Jason caught them. He pinned them down and snapped the collar on as soon as he saw who exactly was haunting his territory.
Currently Phantom was going through an observation…okay, they were currently being poked at by Tim and Bruce, the Replacement eagerly jotting down things he found or didn’t find, treating procedure like a puzzle.
The Ghost was curled up in the observation table, currently wrapped up in a snake like tail instead of legs, giving off Naga vibes that included hissing and snapping teeth in mock bites.
There was no real threat behind the actions considering the poor things condition, whatever or whoever had tried to catch the feral beastie did a number on them before Jason was able to snatch them for his own.
No matter, Jason took care of his things and he’ll have his new companion looking all shiny and pretty before long.
Dick was lazily spinning in Bruce’s computer chair, legs hanging askew, “Sooo, how are going to register them? Can’t exactly put down Red Hood in the Owner’s signature?”
“Going to go with the ‘Jason Todd and Red Hood being “secret” partners route’, as far as the docs will show, Phantom got caught by Hood in his territory and made a lovely gift to the Alley’s biggest supporter.”
“Nice.”
A silent agreeable silence passed between them as everything started to truly settle for the night.
Phantom was still hissing as Tim held out a device to scan over the Ghost, “Mostly exhaustion, energy drained, malnutrition, probably due to being on the run and unable to get a proper meal. Oh, congratulations, it’s a…hermaphrodite…huh…”
Bruce just hummed in response, taking the device from his son, “Not unusual, there have been reported cases of similar body formations, if you look here in this area, this is very close in resemblance to that of snakes cloaca, given how its been recorded of their ability to shift from tail to legs, it’s a high probability that there is an external and internal shift to match the forms and still keep the functionality of both genitalia.”
“So…wait! That means they can breed! Which means other Ghosts that are similar can too! Which means there are natural born Ghosts?”
“Ghost is only a common used term, coined by the Fentons, real ghosts like Deadman aren’t like these creatures, and given how terrible the Fentons research was…we are unable to fully understand most habits and causes of the species.”
Tim reached back for the scanner, eyes scrolling over the details in excited glee, beings that were basically unknown, improbably recorded, a huge mystery with smaller mysteries within, “I’m going to compare these scans with known species of reptiles, might get a standard bar of health in comparison and possible hints at behavior.”
Another hum came from the Dark Knight, focus turning to watching the youngest move his way in between him and Tim, Damian had came back dressed in civilian clothes and was holding an apple out to the Ghost, “I have brought you a treat.”
They all watched as Phantom hesitated, hissing slowly dissipating as it takes in the fruit, a clawed hand reaching out to take it, sniffing it before taking a small bite.
“So can eat fruit? Can they all eat fruit or just Phantom?”
“Hush, Drake, your voice is grating and might cause them to lash out in hopes of peaceful silence.”
“Excuse you!”
The two continued to bicker, the creature on the examination table just steadily continued eating, bright pure green eyes watching them before taking in the room.
Dick made an attention whistle at Jason, nodding at the way the Ghost was eyeing possible exits, his brother just shrugged in response.
With that collar, there wasn’t any place the other could hide without a Bat knowing exactly where they were.

“Look, Danny, you can’t keep breaking into crime scenes,” Nightwing scolds,”Especially not with a vape, and I don’t want to have to tell you this again.”
“Then stop telling me,” Danny pouts,”It’s not like I’m gonna listen to you this time either.”
Grumbling, Nightwing pockets the vape, much to Danny’s annoyance. He mutters something about bees before looking back to Danny with a frown. “No more crime scenes, no more drugs. It’s way too late for you to be out here on your own, kid.”
“Technically it’s early, since it’s like 2am,”Danny corrects,”And who else is gonna solve Charlene’s murder?”
“I’m trying to, but some kids been distracting me,” Nightwing mutters, giving Danny a look.
“Sucks for you,”Danny smiles, crossing his arms. “But seriously, she says her husband killed her with the flower vase she got from her grandma. His alibi lied and you find his dna on a beer bottle in the living room where he’d been drinking all night. Now can I have my vape back?”
“No,” Nightwing says, not missing a beat. “Thanks for the tip, but you shouldn’t be out here, even if the ghosts want you to.”
“It’s not like anyone else can hear them,” Danny rolled his eyes. “What if I need it for chronic pain?”
Nightwing raised an eyebrow, making his mask warp with the movement.”Do you have chronic pain?”
“… yes?” Danny lies, putting his best puppy dog eyes on. Nightwing gives him a deadpan look, unyielding on giving drugs to nine year olds, unfortunately.
“I can’t even believe we’re having this conversation,” The vigilante grumbles,”Alright, where do you live, I’m taking you home,” Nightwing says, shooing the kid away from the dead body in the dining room.
Danny glares at him as he dodges Nightwings floppy hands. Charlene says I can have a cookie from the kitchen though, can we get some first?”
“This is a crime scene, Danny.”
“Yeah, so no one’s gonna eat em,” Danny points out, and Nightwing feels like this is what Bruce has had to deal with for years.
“How about this, I’ll take you to Batburger and you can have as much food as you want,” Nightwing bargains, and Danny lights up at the prospect of the kids meal toys.
“Deal.”
“And then I take you home,” Nightwing adds, and Danny groans.
“Can Charlene come?”
Nightwing pauses in his efforts to get the kid out of the house before the police show up again, wondering why Charlene’s ghost would even want to come to Batburger with them. “Uh, I guess?”
“Sweet,” Danny smiles, and Dick watches with fondness as the little kid hops down the steps to the sidewalk like a little rabbit.
When they get to Batburger, Nightwing let’s Danny order a kids meal and gets his own burger and joker-ized fries. Apparently, Charlene wanted a milkshake, so Nightwing got her a vanilla one that Danny ended up drinking.
“Okay, it’s time for bed,”Nightwing says, offering the sleepy kid a piggy back ride so he could roof-hop. “Where’s home, kiddo?”
Smooshing his face into Dicks neck, he feels Danny shrug. “Firehouse on sixth,” he says, and Dick freezes.
“Kiddo, that’s…”Dick trails off, realizing just where the little ghost detective lives. He swallows his protests and heads to the firehouse anyways. He doesn’t know the kid, not really.
Hopefully, Dick thinks, there’s someone looking after Danny at the firehouse. Maybe his parents are just going through a rough patch, he reasons. And if the Wayne foundation offers them some amenities tomorrow, then only Dick would know why.
But when they arrive on the roof, Danny’s nearly asleep, so Dick travels to the fire escape and slides into the second floor. His heart sinks when he sees the lone sleeping bag in the corner next to a pile of non perishable food. Dick purses his lips, no longer able to let the kid stay here if no one else is looking out for him.
“Thanks for the ride,”Danny mumbles sleepily, wiggling to get down but Dick keeps him there and starts walking back out. Danny freezes,”uh, Nightwing? You can put me down now.”
“Nope,”Dick says firmly. “You’re coming home with me instead and sleeping in an actual bed.”
“What?!” Danny exclaims, wiggling more until Dick gives up and holds him under his arm like a sack of potatoes. “That wasn’t part of the deal! This is kidnapping!”
“I’m not letting you stay here, Danny,” Nightwing says firmly. “Do you have anyone looking after you?”
Danny is about to protest until Nightwing adds,”Not including ghosts,”and Danny falls silent. Dick sighs,”yeah, that’s what I thought.”
“Hey, I can look after myself!”Danny protests, kicking his feet lightly as Nightwing swings them to another roof. “I’m almost ten!”
“Right,”Nightwing mutters. “Do you even go to school?” He asks, realizing he’s only ever seen Danny at crime scenes at all hours. He’d been trying to keep the kid from putting himself in danger, but the kid was surprisingly great at disappearing.
Danny scoffs, crossing his arms as best he can while still being held under Nightwings arm. “Schools boring,” He says, and Nightwing would laugh if he wasn’t so sad for the kid.
“Kay, we’ll come back to that,”Nightwing sighs, finally landing on his apartment building. “For now, you’re gonna take a bath and go straight to bed. I think some of my little brothers clothes will fit you.”
“You know I’m just gonna leav- wait,”Danny gasps. “Are you- is this your real appartment? You’re showing me where you live??”
“And my identity,”Nightwing agrees. He was pretty sure Danny could see his parents ghosts anyways. The kid was just too polite to mention it, and while Dick was grateful, he had no doubt that it would give away his identity if they ever met outside of crime scenes. And, he was surprisingly okay with Danny knowing.
“Your- your identity?!” Danny splutters, too shocked to stop Dick from hoisting Danny through the window. Still in shock, Dick plants Danny on his feet, watching the kid take in his messy apartment with wide eyes.
Dick takes advantage of this, and leans the kid to the bathroom. “I’ll bring clothes in a minute, but why don’t you take a shower, or a bath if you want,” he says, not waiting for Danny to protest before closing the door on the kid and walking to his guest room.
Feeling almost giddy with nerves, Dick does his best to find clothes that would fit the nine year old. Damian, now twelve, wouldnt be a perfect fit for Danny, but they’d be similar in size than anyone else in his family. On his way back, he smiled when he hears the shower running.
Once he dropped off the clothes, Dick hurries to get dressed in his pajamas as quickly as possible, then started on making some hot chocolate.
Danny exited the bathroom just as the cocoa was done, and Dick had to resist the urge to coo. The kid was dressed in Damian’s clothes, which were definitely a few sizes too big. The sleeves of the shirt covered his hands and the pants covered his feet entirely. Dick was a bit worried he’d trip on them. He almost offered to roll them up when he caught the look on Danny’s face.
“What?”Dick asked as the kid continued to stare.
“Oh my god,” Danny said absently,”You’re Nightwing. Why- you- you know I could tell people, right? Why would you trust me with this?”
Dick just shrugged, smiling into his cocoa as Danny threw his over-sleeved arms into the air. “Geez, are all the heroes like this? You also shouldn’t kidnap kids. I hope you know that.”
“It’s not kidnapping,”Dick protests, handing the kid his cocoa as he sits across from him on the counter.
“So I can leave?”Danny raises an eyebrow. He smiles wryly at Dick’s silence. “Totally a kidnapping.”
“Well, now that you know where I live and what I look like, you should probably know my name,”Dick says, ignoring Danny entirely.
Danny sighs dramatically, then glances to his left. Dick tries to follow him but sees nothing there. Suddenly, Danny blurts,”You go by Dick on purpose??”
Dick laughs, assuming a ghost told him. While he’d normally be unnerved by that, he’d been around the kid enough to get used to it. Besides, if the kid was staying here he’d need support, especially with his ghostly powers. “Yeah, it’s what my parents nicknamed me.”
Danny grumbles a bit, but Dick notices he’d been visibly dropping from exhaustion. “Alright, time for bed kiddo, we can talk more in the morning over pancakes.”
“You know how to cook?”Danny yawned, and Dick would be offended that the kid guessed he couldn’t if that wasn’t true. He was planning to video chat Alfred for advice.
“Of course,” Dick lied, picking up the kid and carrying him to the guest room, much to Danny’s protesting. Dick felt the kid relax against him though, which warmed his heart. “Now get some sleep. No talking to ghosts, no crime scenes, no drugs.”
“I don’t think vape counts,” Danny protests sleepily, but snuggles into the blankets anyways. He’s out before Dick could finish tucking him in, and Dick runs his hand through Danny’s damp hair.
The panic would definitely hit him in a few minutes, but right now he couldn’t bring himself to regret kidnapping the kid. After reluctantly working with the little ghostbuster for the past five months, he’d grown attached. He’d be lying if he hadn’t thought about adopting the kid before today.
Dick just hoped his family wouldn’t freak out too much.
"Probably because they don't have a grave," Danny said, pulling out his vape. "Final resting places are--HEY!"
Nightwing held the pilfered vape above his head. "Where did you get this?" he asked, scandalized.
Danny jumped for it, but Nightwing was too tall! Even at 5'7 he'd have to use his powers to reach the vape; he had no chance as a 9 year old. "We're in Gotham! You're lucky I didn't get cocaine instead!"

Nasty Burger Explosion au + Demon Twins au.
Except, instead of going psycho and using all of his power to kill off the entire world to distract himself from grief and channel his rage.
He's decided to become a pissbaby.
Subject of his pissbaby-ness?
Damian Wayne.
Any prank ranging from hiding one of Damian's things to replacing his shampoo with hair dye to just anything that will get a reaction out of Damian that Danny can laugh at.
(With their assassin background and Danny's entire... Arc, right now. I wouldn't be surprised if one of such pranks result in bodily harm. Though that might just grab the Batfam's attention so he may have to be sneaky about it, or not if he just doesn't care.)
Does Damian put up with this? Kiiiiiind of! Probably has no idea why Danny has decided to come and bug him constantly, probably thought the more harmless pranks were his siblings at first before finding out it was Danny in some way.
He had and will stab Danny when he proves to be especially annoying.
Will this slowly become Danny trolling the entire Batfam? Probably, though Damian would be the main focus.
Also, he is definitely jealous of any family moments between the batfam.

I have a question that’s not related to your series just your opinion.
Please lineup the batbros and the Dannies in order of most toxic and scariest yandere to least toxic and scariest yandere.
If you can please explain your reasoning
Lmao, I don't mind if it's not about my series. I will be adding Jazz to the list tho bc I love her and she deserves to be included.
List below:
1. Dan: the most terrifying and deadly, bc he WILL take off limbs to ensure that his loved one can't run away from him. He is also volatile, extremely jealous and possessive, as well as not that mentally sound, which makes for a terrifying combo with his sheer power. He will also hurt others and even the people his loved one loves in order to keep them close.
2. Tim: he's scary for his toxicity, abilities, and mundanity. He's extra scary bc of how ordinary he is, bc you would literally not suspect that he would be doing all sorts of illegal actions in order to keep his loved one close. He is also very intelligent, and able to gaslight his loved one and kill anyone who interferes without anyone knowing.
3. Danny: if he was a yandere, he'd be 3rd for sheer power. Ngl, I can't imagine him being that violent or horrifying, but he is very creepy bc I think he'll be the type to watch his loved one at all times. There's also not a lot anyone can do to stop him/convince him otherwise, so that's why he ranks high.
4. Jazz: manipulative and frightening for the amount of help she has as well as the abilities she's got. She's also terrifying and toxic bc she'll gaslight anyone in order to achieve her goals. She's also a perfectionist, very needy, and very, very stubborn/single-minded, so that makes for a bad combo. However, she is 4th bc she has no special abilities.
5. Dick: lower than Jazz bc I think he would have more morals (even while he's yandere), but I think he's equally as terrifying and unhinged as her. He has a lot of friends, a lot of influence, and a lot of abilities. He's a great spy, and that also influences his yandere activities.
6. Jason: I was honestly just going to put "he has guns" and call it a day lmao. I just can't see him as a yandere tbh? At least not without being physically abusive, but I think he could also be the gaslighting kind of yandere who acts all sweet and gentle until his loved one disobeys and then he starts threatening them violently until he switches attitudes again and goes back to being sweet.
7. Damian: honestly, I don't think he'll be that scary compared to the others. He's the very basic, jealous, murderous yandere, but that doesn't mean that he's not scary. He still has his fighting abilities and a volatile temper. However, he's also easy to predict.
8. Dani: she's the least toxic and dangerous yandere, not bc she doesn't have it in her, but just bc she's rather gentle compared to the others. She'll lock up her loved one and treat them like a pet. She's not likely to be violent, but she does have a lot of friends, so it's hopeless to escape her.

I’d like to imagine Danny didn’t have any powers yet or does but like just a little and that Damian was tasked with protecting Danny, since it would be a good training exercise and he’d learn stuff.
But, Damian finds it hard to protect Danny from his own family, and the league. Especially since Ras is set on experimenting on him wit the Lazarus pits.
Danny learns of his father and hopes that Bruce will be able to help protect Danny better. So he figures out how to run away with his little brother at ten while Danny is 5/6.
Bruce and the other kids are surprised to see a Bruce/talia lookalike and a toddler at the front steps of the manor, especially when he’s been spotting more LoA assassins around Gotham lately.
Bruce has a crisis but takes in the two inseparable kids anyways. Dick helps a lot with getting damian and Danny adjusted and Tim actually gets to bond with Danny about space and stuff so Damian can’t even start to hate Tim.
Then Danny starts showing his powers more ad they’re a bit… creepy. Damian tries to train him on them but what does he do when Danny’s ice ore is forming and is making him sick? He refuses to let Bruce run tests on Danny because that’s what Ras did.
They do it doctor checkup style though and Dick or Tim get to demonstrate beforehand. They find out Danny’s powers a bit more and help him to control his ice and stuff.
Jason comes to the manor! I’d like to think Jason might immediately see the baby and just,, parent the heck out of him. But it could also be that Danny’s super attached to Jason and he doesn’t know why, only that he doesn’t feel the rage at all around the kid.
Basically, everyone spoils tiny ghost toddler Danny, and Damian is happy to get them out of the LoA.
What if when Damian was younger say 5-6 or so he demanded a little brother. After his Mother refuses Damian in a moment of child like wonder asks the Lazarus Pits for a baby brother.
And the pits listen?? It Spits out baby Danny who is wondering why he’s a baby and where he is now.
Then a 10 year old Damian shows up at the Wayne’s with a half-dead toddler.

DP x DC prompts
Just a couple of ideas that have me by the choke hold right now
Danny is Jason's older brother who died and got reincarnated. After circumstances force him to Gotham, he finds out that his beloved little brother is now a crime lord
As all the others leave the league of assassins, Danny is left behind to be molded by Ra's Al Ghul. One day Ra's decides to unleash his prized assassin on Gotham
Danny moves to Gotham and starts helping out at a local pet shelter (mainly so cujo can make friends). It is there where he runs into one Damian Wayne who is setting off his must protect senses
Danny becomes a back door engineer. He fixes things for cheap no questions asked. No one can beat him when it comes to using whatever you have laying around to build something from scratch. That's why he's Red Hood's personal mechanic
Danny is a clone of Batman and Superman. Superman is grateful that he can finally do right by his clone. Conner is exceedingly jealous of Danny's treatment. Batman is contemplating taking his friend to court for custody. And Danny is just vibing because now he has two powerful dads who won't let the giw get their hands on him.
And the final one that is really rotating around in my head:
Danny is Batman's informant. He can get any info the bat needs in record time. Batman is the only one who knows about Danny and his abilities so whenever anyone else catches a glimpse of him, they think it's Bruce's secret love child. Damian is not happy about this.

Let Me Take Care of You (18+)
requested by @transparentgayprotector: Dead serious, soulmate au, post battle hook up but sweet
-----
It was always a complete joy to Damian when he got watch his soulmate fight. He understood now that strength was not the ends all and be all of life but he still preened openly at having such a powerful and regal life partner.
Today Damian had the absolute joy of backing his lover up while he fought one of his rogues. Well, technically there were a few of the other bats here but he was clearly the most helpful. They were taking care of any summons the villain attempted to throw at them so that Danny could focus on the main fight. Damian might have resented that but he knew perfectly well how strong Danny was.
It had been a hard fight for all involved at first, until the fool of a rogue realized how completely outclassed they were an how little good their pathetic mobs were actually doing. They had dropped all their summons to focus on Danny and Damian had been able to sit back and enjoy the show of power and force. He wished he had brought some snacks to enjoy the show, perhaps that would keep him from getting so hot under the collar.
Damian could have purred when Danny sent the villain twice his size running. "Welcome back Phantom," Damian greeted, reaching up for Danny as he drifted down to them. "Are you injured?"
"No, don't worry I'm fine," Danny said, resting his hands in Damian's, so pale compared to his own, like holding snow.
"Are you sure? You know I'd feel much better if you let me check," Damian said, pulling Danny down closer to him.
"What? No really I'm okay-" Danny started before Damian yanked him close.
"Please Beloved, take me home," Damian purred in Danny's ear, his voice soft and sultry.
"Oh- Oh, ya of course," Danny said, blushing bright green, it made his star-like freckles stand out all the more on his cheeks. It was adorable, how something so powerful could be so precious Damian would never understand.
He glanced around to make sure there wasn't to much damage as he touched down on the ground and wrapped his arms around Damian's waist. "Thank you all so much for your help, I owe you one!" He said, his voice pitching up just a little when Damian wrapped his arms around Danny's shoulders and nuzzled against his throat.
"Ya, ya you're welcome! Now take him home before he jumps you in front of all of us," Jason teased them, Damian could only grin to himself about how correct Todd was.
"Right, Well, thanks again," Danny said sounding Very flustered before he ripped open a portal and pulled Damian through with him.
Damian was very pleased when they landed directly on the bed, his love knew him so well! Damian got comfortable straddling Danny's waist and kissed him slow and passionate. Damian hummed when Danny cupped his face and kissed back.
Damian saw a bright flash through his eyelids and when he opened his eyes he could see Danny's living skin, warmer and less freckled, his now blue eyes closed and eyebrows scrunched together in adorable concentration as he focused on the kiss. It made Damian's heart swell and the branching scars of Danny's electrification tingle in his chest and down his arm.
Damian broke the kiss and leaned back, unbuttoning Danny's blue shirt, he leaned down and kissed the scar on his chest, from Damian's own death. The lightning scars had long since faded on Danny's living skin but they lived forever on Damian's, the scar on Damian's chest had been overwritten when he was resurrected, but it lived forever on Danny's.
"I love you," Damian murmured against Danny's twisted skin, vulnerable and true.
"I love you too," Danny replied, running his fingers through Damian's hair. He had none of the trouble Damian did when it came to giving and receiving love. Early on in their relationship Damian had almost been jealous of how easily Danny got along with his family, how quickly he let them in and how easily they loved him. He was long since over that now though, he was just grateful that Danny was fated to be his.
Damian made a soft sound of acknowledgment and moved to the edge of the bed to kick off the boots he was still wearing. While he did Danny shrugged off his button down and went to undo his own shoes. Damian tutted and pushed him back down, deft hands undoing the laces of Danny's shoes and pulling them off himself, Danny's socks were too large and came off along with them.
Damian's deft and knife callused fingers curled around the back of Danny's heel, pressing a kiss to his ankle. Danny's breath hitched slightly in his throat, Damian knew that Danny was a King, nearly a god, and how uncomfortable he was with the roll. Danny did not want to be worshiped, at least not in that way, in bed was a different story.
He kissed up Danny's leg, his shin, above his knee, his thigh, then his stomach just above the waist of his jeans. He undid Danny's pants and pushed them down slowly, nuzzling against his hip fondly. Danny watched him, wide eyed and flushed, letting Damian have his way and Oh how Damian loved having his way with such a powerful man.
He chuckled breathlessly when Danny's dick practically jumped free of his underwear once they were pushed down. Danny let out a soft whimper, an eager little sound he simply couldn't hold back. Adorable~
Damian nuzzled the underside of Danny's dick making him gasp and grab the sheets, his other hand flying to Damian's hair. He didn't pull or push, just held on and let Damian do as he pleased, so Damian continued, secure in the knowledge that if he wanted to Danny absolutely could stop him.
Damian let Danny's member slip between his lips, soft and warm as it nudged against the back of his pallet. He hummed contentedly as he drew a moan from his lover. He closed his lips around the engorged flesh and started sucking, his mouth watering as he bobbed his head, his saliva dripping down along the length he couldn't quite fit in his mouth.
He pulled back, letting Danny's dick fall from his mouth with a small pop that made Danny's breath stutter. The sound made him smirk. "Pass me the oil please Love," Damian requested while still slowly stroking Danny's dick.
"Sure," Danny breathed, sitting up and reaching over to the bedside table, scrabbling through the drawer for the body safe oil they used as lube. While he did Damian took the chance to strip the rest of his own clothes.
Danny handed the lube over, his eyes roaming over Damian's body. he smiled and sat back to let Danny look, he knew he was painfully hard as well, but he wasn't thinking about that, too focused on Danny at the moment. He saw the way Danny's pupils dilated when he was planning to pounce and beat him to it, swooping down to kiss the other man and hold him down without any real force.
Damian knew his intention was enough to keep Danny firmly on his back right now. "Let me take care of you," Damian crooned. He straddled Danny's waist and leaned back, bracing one hand on Danny's knee so he had a good view as Damian started to work himself open slowly. He knew he looked good, and it made him feel good being watched like this, to be enjoyed by his lover.
"Fuck, you're so gorgeous," Danny breathed, reaching up slowly enough that Damian could have said no. When he didn't Danny ran his hands over Damian's toned chest and taught stomach, settling for holding his hips and helping hold the angle as Damian tried not to focus to much on his own pleasure.
"Alright," He murmured to himself, letting out a shuddering breath as he pulled out his own fingers once he was lose enough. He shifted down, lining himself up with Danny's cock and holding it carefully with one hand as he lowered himself with a long shuddering moan.
The sound of pleasure Danny let out when he bottomed out inside Damian was particularly inhuman. He'd been self conscious of those little snarls and wails at first but Damian loved them. They made his skin pebble in goose flesh and a shiver run down his spine, a tiny little twist of fear to add spice to his pleasure.
He leaned forward, shifting and swiveling his hips slowly until he found the angle that felt best and most comfortable. Beneath him Danny's breathing came fast and shallow, his grip on Damian's hips turning bruising as he struggled to control himself. Still Damian wasn't actually scared, he knew his beloved would never hurt him.
"Ohhh," he sighed when he found just the right position and quickly pushed himself up so he could sink back down. His moan was pleasant backing vocals for Danny's snarl as he threw his head back. Damian gave a breathless laugh and started riding Danny quickly having just about used up Both of their patience.
He kept his own noises soft, little gasps and moans, not because he needed to but because he wanted to hear Danny. His own pleasure was incidental and inevitable as he worked to draw as many varied noises as he could from his Lover.
"Damian! Damian, I'm going to cum," Danny warmed breathlessly.
"Good, me too," Damian breathed.
Damian let out a startled yelp when Danny sat up quickly, surging up to kiss Damian almost to hard, holding him tight as Damian came, shuddering and collapsing in Danny's arms. Shivering with the odd combination of disgust and delight that came with being covered in and filled with both their orgasmic fluid.
"Straight to the shower?" Danny asked, sounding amused. He knew Damian so well.
"Yes please. Carry me," Damian demanded imperiously for the sole purpose of making Danny laugh. Which it did, even as he did exactly what Damian asked and scooped him up in a bridal carry.

Batfam vs. Tim: The Battle for Danny’s Favorite
All of the Bats, and I mean all of them (yes, even Bruce), are secretly competing to be Danny’s favorite. Dick’s throwing out all his charm, Jason’s leaning hard into the cool, laid-back older brother vibe, Steph is cracking nonstop jokes, Duke is casually flexing his powers, and Cass is winning everyone over with her sweet, quiet smiles. Damian, of course, is 100% certain he’s already Danny’s favorite (because who wouldn’t love Bat-Cow?)
Meanwhile, Tim—who’s actually dating Danny—just stands there watching all of this unfold. It’s ridiculous. He’s the boyfriend, so why is he feeling jealous? It’s not like he should have to fight for Danny’s attention, right?
Still, whenever he sees his siblings laughing and hanging out with Danny, he can’t help but feel a tiny bit jealous.
But at the end of the day, it’s okay. Because Danny always makes sure Tim knows who really matters, sneaking away for private moments, wrapping his arms around him when no one’s looking.
Tim doesn’t doubt for a second that, no matter how hard the rest of the Bats try, he will always be Danny’s favorite.

Maybe as a consequence of becoming an ancient Danny was made vulnerable in some new way that Vlad was able to take advantage of? I've never seen the show so take this with a grain of salt but I'm thinking a la the personification of dream being bound in the Sandman show?
His knowledge of Halfas would make him the most capable of managing some sort of binding magic that might do something like force Danny to listen to him or stay near him or sm. It would be a good way to explain why Ancient of Balance (and maybe space and protection please? (✿˵◕ᵕ◕) ) Danny wouldn't just fucking wreck Vlads ass which might be hard to explain if it was just a matter of Vlad threatening his friends or gaining custody after him parents dying.
It would also be a perfect explanation for why the summoning spell for Phantom didn't work. Because he's already bound to someone else.
Practice Your Skills
“You ever look at someone and wonder how hard it would be to get past their defenses and stab them.
Damian snapped his head to the side, looking at the young boy now standing beside him.
The boy put his hands up in front of him with a wince, “Not that I ever do that. Totally not, whaaaat???”
Damian huffed and turned back around to watch the gala participants.
“It’s just you kinda looked like you were contemplating the logistics of stabbing Mrs.Halterguild for squeezing your cheeks.”
Damian scowled. Then, after a moment’s beat, “It would not be very difficult. She is nearly blind in her left eye, I would be able to approach without repost.”
The kid hummed, turning back as well before motioning to another group to the far right, “What about Mr. Beckensmith, he’s a retired vet right?”
Damian rolled his eyes and scowled harder, “The man has only seen the battlefield of an office as he bribed his way from being fully enlisted and instead managed to pay for increasingly higher ranks and medals. He is a disgrace.”
The kid cocked his head to the side, looking suspicious for a second and then nodding with concession, “Fair enough, I bet I could get close enough too.”
Damian scoffed.
“What, don’t believe me?”
Damian leveled a doubtful glare at the civilian, making it clear by looking him up and down, “Hardly.”
The other smirked dangerously, “If I can get close enough to poke him and get away without being noticed, will you believe me?”
Damian narrowed his eyes but nodded succinctly and watched as the boy immediately took off, making a few loops around other people before finally backing up to Mr. Beckensmith and poking him on the opposite side as a group moved past.
Damian pursed his lips. Interesting. Certainly better than he would expect from an amateur. And an amateur civilian at that.
When the boy returns to his side Damian brushes off the asks of meaningless praise.
“Come on, I did it, now you have to go poke Mrs. Halterguild without getting caught.”
Damian sneers, “And why would I do that?”
“Because I don’t believe you either, the woman’s old but I bet she sees you and squeezes your cheeks again. Old ladies just have a sixth sense for that stuff you know.”
Damian nearly growls but sets off on his task. He makes sure to stay on her left side, but the woman turns at the last second, forcing Damian to use a passing waiter as cover to remain hidden and finally get close enough to poke her gaudy dress.
Then he sidles back up to the boy on the edges and provides his best ‘I am more capable than you’ scowl. The boy simply laughs and says, “Who’s next?”
They spend the night like that, choosing each other’s targets to attack non-lethally as though they were attempting to stab them, and Damian finds the gala going by in a significantly less tedious manner.
Right up until the boy laughs at him when he chooses a target. Only one bark of laughter escapes, but it is enough for Damian to consider stabbing him as well. If only with a butter knife.
Instead, Damian grinds his teeth and asks, “What is so different about Masters, do you really believe you would be unable to succeed?”
The other gives a breathless chuckle, “I’m pretty sure even you wouldn’t be able to successfully stab Vlad Masters,” The boy’s shoulders sag even as his jaw tightens with irritation, “He sees everything.”
Damian narrows his eyes. Something naws at the back of his brain but currently the critique of his capabilities takes precedence.
“I would be capable of stabbing Masters even without my favored sword,” Damian scowls and stands taller with annoyance.
“Sure you can, man,” At this, the boy quirks a sharp smile, “If you can actually get him, I’ll personally get you a magic sword,” he says with an air of amused indulgence. Like he thinks Damian is some insipid child saying he will find a fairy.
Damian grits his teeth and shakes the other’s hand, then immediately sets off after his target. How dare this civilian question him! He is the Son of the Bat, this is not even a challenge!
Damian growls as his approach is thwarted for the third time by the man turning in his direction and almost spotting him. How dare he! He will not fail!
Just as he reaches to jab the man in the side, already poised to make his escape, Masters whips around and clamps his fingers around Damian’s wrist with a vice grip.
“Really Daniel I thought we were over-“ Masters pauses, looking at Damian critically as he glares at the man’s offending hand, “You are not young Daniel.”
“Remove your hand from my person at once,” Damian growls.
Instead of listening to Damian’s very sensible directions, Masters tightens his grip and twists his arm, most likely in an attempt to hurt him.
“Now why is a child attempting to-“
Damian doesn’t wait to hear the rest of the man’s words, sliding a dagger into his other hand and swinging towards him, until that hand is caught mid-movement as well.
“Heh-Hey there!”
Damian snaps his head to the side just in time to see Grayson take his dagger and slide it into his pocket. He ignores the bark of laughter he hears from across the room.
Masters’ hand disappears from his arm suspiciously fast, “Mr. Wayne, what a pleasure!”
Damian looks over his other shoulder to see his father standing behind him, a thin smile on his face, “Vladimir!”
His father’s figure quickly obscures his vision, putting an arm over Masters’ shoulders in a way that clearly makes him irritated but forces him to follow as he is steered away.
“Dami, I thought we talked about the stabbing at formal events,” Grayson says through a strained smile as he looks over the crowd to make sure no else saw.
“Tt, it was merely a demonstration of my skills, he was in no real danger until he refused to release me. I simply sought to correct that mistake.”
Grayson pinchesthe bridge of his nose, “Demonstration for who, Dames? We all already know your skills.”
“Tt,” Damian scowls and turns away.
Instead of pushing it, Grayson simply sighs heavily, “Just stay out of trouble for the rest of the gala okay? We’re almost done.”
Damian scoffed and waited for Grayson to leave. Once he does, Damian finally looks over to where he had been lingering with the boy.
Gone.
Clearly he’d taken the cowards way out when he’d seen that Damian had been accosted by Masters.
Pitiful.
Damian spends the rest of the night scowling from the wall and looking serendipitously for a head of black hair and blue eyes unrelated to him.
Of course it’s not until they are actively leaving that Damian sees him and immediately splits off of from his family.
He approaches with irritation, preparing to grab the other by the shoulder when suddenly he turns around and blue eyes meet Damian’s green.
“You,” Damian sneers.
“Me,” The other shrugs. He has an amused smile on his face, though it was strained at the edges.
They stare in silence for a minute, before the other’s smile grows and sharpens once more, “I didn’t expect you to actually try to stab him, y’know,” A slight laugh escapes him, “Not that it was unwelcome by any means, but still, unexpected.”
Damian scowls again, glaring at this foolish civilian.
“Oh, I never introduced myself did I?!”
The boy exclaims and holds out a hand, smile dangerous, “Daniel Fenton. Or if we’re being technical,” a pause as Damian finally returns the gesture and finds his hand trapped, “Daniel Masters, a pleasure to meet you Damian.”
“Hurry up little badger,” A voice says beside them, and Damian notices that it is indeed Vladimir Masters.
The man approaches, placing a heavy hand on Fenton’s shoulder, making the boy go taut, and then they both step into a dark car, leaving Damian on the front steps.
Damian’s anger flares and he shoots a glare directly to the boy getting into the car. It dies the moment they meet eyes and Damian sees the fear hiding in the other’s eyes.
Fear that Damian is all too familiar with.
Fear that reminded Damian of himself. Reminded him of his own eyes when he’d been under his grandfather.
But why did Fenton look like that?

Mending a Family 54/54
Prev | Mending a Family Master Post
A family is forgiven, goodbyes are given, and promises are made
Well, here it is, the final chapter
Dick was not jealous. He wasn’t! Just because Danny greeted Lian as his cousin, Roy as Uncle Roy, and Raven as Auntie Raven doesn’t mean Dick was jealous.
Is that the truth? Are those your genuine emotions? Dinah’s voice echoed in Dick’s head.
Okay, maybe he was jealous. But it wasn’t fair! He had his first nephew, and Danny was avoiding him, and when he wasn’t avoiding him, he was glaring at him with glowing green eyes.
Why isn’t it fair? Didn’t you do the same with Mar’i?
Ugh, being self-aware was annoying.
Jason laughed loudly with his whole body at something Roy had said. Even Danny smiled at whatever Roy had said. Dick gritted his teeth. Jason had never laughed with him like that. Well, it’s not as if Dick had given him many opportunities to laugh with Dick when he was younger. Dick regrets not getting closer to Jason when he was younger. Things might have been different if he hadn’t been so angry and jealous. By the time their relationship had started to get better, Jason had died. When he returned, well, there was no relationship to be had.
Dick’s phone beeped again with a notification. He had been receiving messages from his siblings who wanted to know how Jason and their newfound niblings were or from Mar’i wanting to know when she would see her new cousins and uncle.
Dick ignored them. He didn’t know what else to tell them. He had already updated them that Danny and Jason were fine.
Bruce walked up to Dick.
“He seems happy,” Bruce said in a neutral tone. Dick had been around the man long enough to know it was probably eating him inside. Like a typical rich kid, Bruce wasn’t used to sharing.
“Yeah, he does. I’m…happy for him.”
Even to Dick, his tone sounded insincere.
“Do you think he would want us in his life again? I’m glad to see him alive and well, but I want my son to at least speak to me. To us.”
“I don’t know, Bruce, I don’t know.”
“I will grant his wish if he doesn’t want to talk to us again, but it’ll hurt,” Bruce said. Dick stayed silent. He honestly didn’t know what to do. On the one hand, Jason was entitled to his boundaries. On the other, Dick wanted to beg his younger brother to let them back in.
Let him come to you first, Dinah’s voice sounded in his head.
“Did Talia leave already?”
“Yeah, she gave her final goodbyes to Danny, Jazz, and Jason and left.”
“Huh,” Dick was glad. He understood he was both Damian’s and, ugh, Jason’s mother, but he couldn’t stand the woman.
Danny suddenly turned to them and glared with his eerie green eyes. Every time he saw those Lazarus green eyes, Dick felt uneasy. Dick felt the sudden paranoia that Danny could read his thoughts. After all, he didn’t know what powers Danny had.
Danny snarled silently, showing tiny fangs.
“Children hold a lot of sway with their parents,” Dick said, “If Danny wants nothing to do with us, Jason is most likely to follow his son’s wishes.”
Bruce said nothing. Eventually, he left Dick and walked up to Roy and Jason.
Dick watched as Danny’s scowl deepened. The little boy left the group when Bruce started talking with Jason. Roy crossed his arms and glared at Bruce, not hiding it from Bruce.
Danny walked toward Lian and started talking to her. The little girl laughed at whatever Danny said. Dick smiled weakly. It was their fault that Jason had left. After all, they abandoned him first. They had no right to feel saddened.
It didn’t mean he didn’t feel it.
____
Danny didn’t like Bruce or Dick. They had been the cause of his dad’s suffering, Them and the whole so-called Batfamily.
Yes, even Alfred and Barbara, though dad always talked about them fondly.
After all, Alfred could have easily visited dad when he was feeling down, Bruce’s rules be damned. And Barbara’s crumbs of talking to dad occasionally probably caused him to feel more acutely alone. Barbara could’ve easily fought harder for his dad instead of just talking to him occasionally.
Danny sighed. He stared at his daddy, talking to both Dick and Bruce.
His dad always had an air of melancholy surrounding him, no matter how much Danny and Jazz tried to help. There were times when he would be happy, and then out of nowhere, bam, depression would hit.
Danny didn’t feel even a hint of it now. His dad still missed his old family, even though they had hurt him.
Danny wished he could say he didn’t understand, but he did. Because even though his parents had hurt him, a part of him still wanted their love and acceptance, even though it was too late now.
So, why not allow his dad to reconnect with his old family? They seemed to be trying, and dad looked more at peace. Even though Danny hated it, he would give that stupid family a chance.
He glared at Bruce and Dick, but if they hurt his dad in any way, well, he was half-ghost. He smiled chillingly. His smile widened when he saw Bruce tense, and Dick rub the back of his neck uneasily.
They would get their chance, but it would only be one.
____
Jason gave Bruce his phone number. Logically, he knew Bruce had it from his call for help, but this made it more official.
“Call or text me, but for the love of God, don’t be like Tim texting me at two in the morning telling me he figured out who stole the left socks. As interesting as the dog/human hybrid was, I just wanted to sleep.”
Dick flinched.
“Yeah, sorry about that. He was obsessed. He didn’t sleep for a week straight until he caught him. And that’s why you don’t play with genetics, boys and girls.”
“Alfred and I tried,” Bruce tried to defend himself, “God, did we try.”
Jason snorted, “Timmy needs to learn to let it go and sleep, and you need to learn to put your foot down. Besides, it’s Gotham. It’s not the strangest thing I’ve seen.”
After all, they had a bat-themed villain and a bat-themed hero.
Dick looked as if he was about to say something. He looked uncomfortable.
“I know about Mar’i. Roy told me.”
“I’m sorry, Little Wing.”
Jason shrugged, trying not to show his hurt, “I understand. I wasn’t exactly in the best state of mind when I returned.”
“Still,” Dick said and left it at that.
“I missed you, Jason.”
“We all have,” Bruce added, “Do you think you’ll ever find it in you to forgive us? Maybe to visit?”
Jason tackled Bruce in a hug. Both Bruce and Dick were surprised when they heard a chirp leave Jason’s lips.
“Little wing, did you just chirp like a bird,” Dick asked. His grin said everything: he had found blackmail material. He was still an older brother, after all.
“Ghost children chirp at their parents and family,” Danny came up to them, “it’s a privilege to have a ghost chirping at family.”
Danny glared at Dick, daring him to make fun of his father. Jason felt grateful to Danny. He didn’t think he’d be able to take any of Dick’s ribbing at the moment. He still felt too raw.
“Sorry, guys, it won’t happen again.”
“No, Jason, it’s cute! I promise I won’t say anything, but don’t deny something that’s a part of you,” Dick said.
Bruce was silent, but his eyes were loud with questions. Jason appreciated that Bruce had kept all the questions to himself so far. He didn’t know where he would even begin to explain his powers and half-life.
“Thanks for helping me and Danny. I can’t tell you how grateful I am.”
Bruce put his hand on Jason’s shoulder.
“Always, Jay lad, always.”
Jason hugged his dad again.
Things weren’t perfect, but they were better.
____
Bruce didn’t want to leave. Neither did Dick, but they had responsibilities. Gotham had been without Batman for three days, and Blüdhaven without Nightwing. Besides, they both had children they also had to care for.
As much as Bruce wanted to be with Jason and his family for a while longer, it wasn’t in the cards.
Raven was waiting to the side, giving the family a bit of privacy before she teleported them back.
“You’ll come and visit? Alfred really misses you, and everyone else wants to get to know you and your little family.”
“Yeah, Bruce, we’ll visit. I don’t know when, but we will.”
Bruce rubbed Jason’s hair, “Are you going to let it grow back to your regular hair color? You’re not hiding from us anymore.”
“I don’t know. I’ve kind of grown fond of it. Besides, it matches Jazz’s hair color.”
Bruce nodded. He gave Jason one last hug.
“I miss you, son. I’m sorry for everything.”
“Me too,” Jason said, “me too.”
With a heavy heart, Bruce smiled at Jason and turned toward Raven. It was time to go home, but he would do better for his son and all his children this time.
Jason watched as a white light overtook Dick, Bruce, and Raven.
They were gone.
“Good riddance,” Danny said.
“Danny lad,” Jason said in a warning voice.
“Yeah, yeah, yeah. You forgave them, and we all are going to play happy family now. That doesn’t mean it wasn’t getting too crowded. I want to spend time with my family after…after what happened.”
Jason hugged his son.
“Don’t worry, son, we’re here now, and nothing will happen to us anymore.”
Jazz walked up with Ellie and stood by Danny and Jason. They smiled at each other, comfortable in the knowledge that, no matter what, they would always have each other.
I want to thank everyone who has been with me until the end. Thank you to those who have been here from the beginning to those who came halfway through or toward the end. I couldn't have done it without your support and encouragement.
Endings are hard, but hopefully, this one leaves you satisfied. I do plan to write one last one-shot of the family visiting Gotham and Wayne Manor, but that's a future project, and then I'll be done with this series.
Once again, thank you!

Day 4: Friends || Surprise
“I love you,” Damian murmured, resting his head in Danny’s lap. The halfa looked down at him in surprise for a split moment before he smiled and ran his fingers through Damian’s dark black hair, smiling at the little curls his fingers got snagged on.
“I love you too babe,” he murmured, dipping down to press a kiss to Damian’s pouty lips. “What’s wrong?”
“Cecilia is sleeping,” he huffed, pointing over to the bassinet where their daughter was in fact, fast asleep.
“Quite the observation, Detective. But why does that have you in a sulky mood?” Danny asked, his fingers still carding through Damian’s hair, blunt nails scratching at his scalp.
“I want us to go on a family excursion, we have yet to have one with her as she’s been so small and we’ve been figuring out the ghost powers but I think we have a handle on it and I would like to do something.”
At this, Danny arched an eyebrow and stopped his ministrations in Damian’s hair. “That’s very unlike you, what happened to not wanting the press to find out about Damian Wayne’s Mystery Beau and their secret child?”
Damian let out a hum, green eyes fluttered open to look up at his boyfriend. “I don’t think I would mind showing the world my beautiful daughter and my dashingly handsome boyfriend. Now that my family is aware that I am in a relationship and have a daughter, it is only a matter of time. We cannot keep hiding and I would like to do it on our terms.”
“And why do we need to do that now?” Danny asked, still giving Damian a curious look. If Damian was in Danny’s mind right now he was probably staring at the man like he had magically grown two heads.
“I am going stir-crazy,” Damian admitted, placing Danny’s hand back in his hair so it could continue playing with his hair. The halfa let out a soft chuckle but continued running his hands through it like Damian wanted. “I know that I am Robin and go out every night but I miss our date nights. Our walks in the park, hand in hand as we took in nature and watched the sunset together. How we would talk about our days, people watch, and make fun of the idiots who roamed the park. I would like to go do that but this time have our daughter with us. Besides, she has yet to actually leave the apartment aside from our excursion to the manor.”
Danny chuckled. “Fine, let me get dressed. Don’t wake up Lia but go ahead and change her into something better for this September weather.”
The vigilante grinned and sat up from his spot on Danny’s lap. “Perfect, we shall also take Titus, he is not used to apartment-style living quite yet,” he said, motioning to the old dog that laid beside Ceceilia’s bed, keeping a constant vigil over the girl.
The couple had waited to bring Titus to the apartment, slowly introducing him to Cecilia but in all honesty, he had taken to her quite well if Damian had to admit. He adored the baby just as much as he and Danny did and watched over her constantly. If she cried, he was immediately there either pacing the room or even going as far to jump on Damian to get him to fix the crying immediately. He did not like seeing the girl upset for any reason.
He would even lay beside her when Danny and Damian had her on tummy time just so that he could watch over her. It was the most endearing thing that Damian had ever seen in his life. The way Titus fretted over her was truly adorable. Much better than how Alfred the Cat behaved.
The wretched cat ignored Cecilia or stared at her as though she were a nuisance any time she cried or whined. He would just lay on the back of the couch and glare at her any time Damian paid an ounce of attention to his daughter.
If the vigilante didn’t know any better, he would say that Alfred the Cat was jealous of a wee baby.
“Let’s get you dressed and ready for a park day,” Damian said with a small smile before he lifted the girl out of her bassinet and made his way to her nursery. He and Danny had finally gotten the room prepared and ready for the girl. The two had argued for days before they settled on a theme for their daughter’s room and even her clothes.
Damian had thought softer colors like light browns and beige but Danny had been ready to fight him to the death for even suggesting such a thing.
“We are not going to be beige parents Damian Al Ghul Wayne!” Danny shouted, glaring daggers at his boyfriend. “She is going to be a normal baby and have color and fun in her life and you’re not about to ruin that for her!”
“She’s physically three months old, Daniel. I don’t think it truly matters what colors her room or her clothes are. She doesn’t understand what she’s seeing! Besides, these colors are much more calming–”
“You mean boring! Damian you’re an art major, how can you stand being a beige parent?” Danny complained, throwing the color swatches Damian had presented back onto the table. “We need color!”
“We need calm,”  Damian said calmly. He was not going to back down on this, they needed to give their daughter a nice, calm atmosphere.
He ended up compromising in the end. They had decided to go with pastels for Cecilia. Her walls had been painted a pretty lilac color with tangerine-colored accents. The room still had a peaceful feel to it as Damian wanted, but it still had color as Danny requested.
In the end it didn’t really matter, the girl didn’t pay attention to any of it. Because again, physically she was three months old but chronologically she was barely a month old by their calculations. Colors didn’t matter in the end.
Damian quickly and carefully dressed the little girl in a comfortable long sleeve dress and leggings, slipping on her tiny little boots before he wrapped the sleeping baby in her coat and put a little beanie over her curly hair. Damian smiled at his sleeping girl and kissed the tip of her nose before he slipped out of her room and set the baby in her stroller just as Danny came out and pressed a tiny ghost shield to the stroller and turned it on, a green-tinted dome wrapped around the stroller before turning invisible.
“Alright, let’s go on a walk,” Danny said cheerfully as he grabbed Titus’ leash and clipped it on before the small family made their way out of the apartment and down the street.
“We are definitely moving out of the bowery once we are finished with school,” Damian said, sneering at the crumbling buildings that surrounded them. Dany snorted and shook his head.
“It’s not that bad, Dami. Besides, it’s all I can afford and I’m not about to let you be my sugar daddy,” Danny said, lighting kicking at Damian’s calf as they walked before a portal opened in front of them and they stepped through. On the other side sat one of the nicest parks in Gotham and Damian just chuckled at his boyfriend’s shenanigans.
“Besides, who cares about where we live when you’re darling boyfriend can just open a portal to wherever we need to go? Not only that but I live with one of the most deadly assassins in the world, we’re perfectly safe.”
Damian glanced over at his boyfriend and smiled. “Not to mention you have no qualms about turning into an eldritch horror and sending people to some nightmare realm for daring to enter your home without permission. I’m practically useless in comparison.”
“Exactly! So, who cares if we live in the bowery? We’re perfectly safe anywhere and everywhere,” Danny said happily.
Damian just shook his head in amusement and followed his beloved down the walking path, Titus trotting happily on Danny’s left as Damian pushed the stroller on the right.
“We have eyes on us,” Danny murmured after an hour into their walk. Damian glanced away from Cecilia and looked over to find paparazzi standing around taking pictures.
“Just grin and bear it,” Damian said with a sigh before he pulled his sunglasses from his hoodie pocket and set them on his face. Danny made a face but followed suit, placing his own over his eyes before he leaned forward and pushed Cecilia’s shade over her head, covering her face from any cameras that got a little too close to capturing a picture of her face.
While Damian was ready to show he had a family to the public, showing his daughter’s face when she still was not old enough to consent to something like that was not something he was particularly interested in doing.  She was a baby and she deserved her privacy.
“You have a baby!?” Sam screeched at Danny over the phone. “Let us over right now so we can meet her or so help me Daniel Fenton I will kick your ass and ruin your entire life? Do you understand me? I will ruin you.”
“Sam! Fine, yes, I’ll let you over. Is Tuck with you too or do I need to open a portal to his dorm room too?”
“Yes he’s here! Please tell me you told your family instead of letting them find out on fucking Buzzfeed of all places?”
“No, I haven’t talked to my parents or Jazz in a few months now,” Danny admitted before he opened a portal for Sam’s dorm room. She and Tucker were both currently going to college in Metropolis.
The two stepped through the portal and gave Danny twin looks of disapproval.
“Really dude? You’re not going to tell your best friends that you have a daughter? Not only that but when you said you had a boyfriend named Damian I didn’t realize you were talking about Damian Wayne!” Tucker exclaimed, stepping out and looking around the room before his eyes fell on a sleeping Cecilia and let out a coo. He stepped forward to grab her only for someone to grip the back of his shirt and yank him back.
“If you even think about touching my daughter with those filthy unsanitized hands, I will murder you where you stand,” Damian snarled at the tech nerd. Tucker gulped but nodded and took the offered hand sanitizer and slathered it on.
Danny chuckled. “Guys, this is my boyfriend, Damian, Damian, these are my two best friends Sam and Tucker. Please be nice to them,” Danny said, giving his boyfriend sad eyes.
Damian looked between the halfa and the two new arrivals. “You are the daughter of Pamela Manson?” He asked, raising an eyebrow at the goth woman who was giving him a suspicious look. “My condolences.”
Sam grinned. “Thanks, I’d say the same to you but I’d take an embarrassing play boy billionaire father over an overbearing pink-obsessed millionaire mother any day.”
Damian just gave her a small smile. “Welcome to our home. You’re welcome to hold Cecilia I just ask that you sanitize before you do so. She is sleeping right now but if she wakes it is okay, her nap was supposed to end ten minutes ago but Danny said to let her sleep rather than wake her up. He has no respect for routines.”
“She’s a baby! She needs to sleep! She’s growing so much!” Danny whined as Tucker scurried over and picked up the sleeping girl before sitting on the couch.
“Danny, my man, she’s perfect,” Tucker gasped, looking down at the sleeping baby. “She looks just like you did when you were a baby! I remember that time Mrs. Fenton showed us pictures of you in those ugly poofy dresses,” he said with a soft laugh. “She looks exactly like that.”
Danny smiled and sat beside his friend and looked down at the girl. “She looks more like Damian to me,” he said, glancing up at the assassin who just smiled in return.
He looked over at Sam. “Please, take a seat. I will grab refreshments while the three of you catch up with one another,” he said politely before leaving the living room and went to the kitchen to get drinks prepared. Once he had a pot of tea prepared he carried the tray out and set it on the coffee table and smiled at the three young adults.
“So, Danny refuses to tell me any of the embarrassing things of his childhood and my siblings have already aired my dirty laundry. Would either of you be willing to tell me about what kid Danny was like?” He asked with a small smile.
Sam and Tucker grinned and looked at one another evilly before back at Damian.
“Wanna hear about pre-transition Danny and freshly out Danny because those were the best moments,” Sam said, grinning evilly.
“Or do you wanna hear about Danny when he first started testosterone and how shitty his voice sounded?” Tucker said with a smile.
“Please no,” Danny whined, looking at his friends. “Don’t do this to me. Damian still thinks I’m cool.”
“No, I do not,” Damian clarified. “I have never thought you were cool.”
Danny’s friends let out twin cackles before they launched into stories about Danny as a child. Damian smiled and listened to each one with rapt attention, slipping his hand into Danny’s to soothe his whines as they shared everything with him.

Nameless Danny au: Brotherhood part 2
Concept: Danny is both Damians twin and the ghost king. The coronation threw damians eyes. He may not have his facts right.
It was a confusing feeling. He wasn't exactly angry, but he was. He swore to himself he wasn't jealous. He knew he shouldn't, no couldn't react so emotionally, but when he and Danny finally made eye contact he knew his eyes gave him away.
"Tt"
His father glanced at him. Suddenly concerned. As if his twin hadn't had his fathers full attention three seconds ago.
"Some king," he muttered, his tongue betraying him next.
He was supposed to be a better person, a kinder person, but how could he... this was his brother, his twin, who ran away to live a better life. To be a king... and what had Damian been left with? His power hungry grandfather and a mother who never loved him. All while that ginger women stood by his twins side.
Clearly that woman had raised him almost his whole life. He didnt get grayson till he was eleven.
He couldn't even tell grayson about this when he got home. His elder brother had an incurable addiction to red heads after all.
He didn't know what irritated him more. The woman's gentle expression while looking at the ghost king, or the full attention his twin had on his parents.
"But he had to go, didn't he..." a little voice whispered in his head, "or else grandfather would have gotten rid of him for his weakness."
Still he could have told him, said something. Maybe Damian would have went with him. Maybe they wouldn't have went their separate ways.
But then again, why would've he. Damian was the one with his families hollow attention at the time. The one mother made tea for (no matter if she microdosed poison into it) and grandfather played chess with (no matter the high stakes of losing)
What was his twin left with but a knife and a barren room.
He didn't even get a name.
And whose to say Damian wouldn't have tattled. Ratted his twin out for being weak enough to run away. For abandoning his home and blood.
Once apon a time these racing thoughts would've angered him to no end, but when he scolded himself mentally all he could see in his head was the disappointed face of the man who practically raised him.
No, Grayson wouldn't have looked down at these thoughts and neither should he.
Introspection was important for a warrior anyway.
So when the crowd roared loudly he quietly clapped along. When the ghost king noticed with a shocked expression, he didn't look away.
He could feel his mother's stare glaring threw the back of his head, and Damian knew all at once.
Even as a king, Danny had not earned her respect.
Most likely he never would.
Yet he couldn't quite pity the ghost king. The boy was so much taller and double his muscle weight. His eyes glowed slightly, not like a predator, but like a monster. He really didn't look pitiable.
Still Damian wondered what he had done to get there. Muscle didn't just appear on a person. The look on his face wasn't something a normal person could copy. No it was too emotional and too barren, too knowledgeable and too inexperienced all at once.
He was a survivor, and Damian knew what a survivor was capable of. How couldn't he in his line of work.
As the crowd cheared suddenly his twin winced . He didn't cry out, didn't scream, but it was obvious he was in pain by the way his hands covered his mouth.
Then the liquid poured out in bright green. The shade was bright and glowing brighter than the pit ever did.
Damian and his father looked at each other. The knight next to them eyed them a second before he spoke.
"It's normal," He whispered cooly," My liege is getting his second set of fangs. The crown has accepted him."
He turned back to the king before he continued.
"He is my king, my liege. He comes before any else."
The king spat out the ectoplasm and grinned. Four fangs glinted to the crowd.
They started to scream louder.
"Your presence stirs ire in him," he looked towards Talia and Ras before looking back at father and son,"It's best you take your leave,"
Father began to say there was no need only for the massive knight to look down at him.
"I did not jest nor question, you shall leave."
He picked Damian up by the scruff and began to walk towards the large castle doors.
At some point they had been opened again. Likely after the ritual.
Damian didn't want to cause a scene, but he wouldn't be a pushover either. He began to yell and cuss, but his frustrations were lost I the crowd.

BatFam AU Beach Vacation
(Takes place midway through the last arc I have planned, tentively named Snowbird [further note: not because it's a finale arc, I just haven't had any idea past it yet])
Private beaches weren't something Jason Todd would ever have seen himself using. And there were only two reasons he agreed to go along with this. One is it wasn't a private Wayne beach. It was a private superhero beach, a place where Capes of all kinds and their loved ones could relax.
And knowing this would be available to Roy or Kori or Artemis kind of made it worth it (Especially since Roy let him crash on his couch after the Siege of Gotham. He was just...not up for dealing with anything brushing on his family after that.)
The Second was, shocker of all shockers, Bruce was actually admitting his perfect little family had problems and a family vacation outside of Gotham was his attempt at a first step in fixing it. And honestly, Jason wanted to see the old man sweat a little bit trying to figure it out.
He'd heard word there was a new vigilante in Gotham who was working with the Bats, but given the powers it was probably just Danny with a new look. There were no new faces here, but there also weren't people who were involved but not part of the official Wayne Family. Oracle, the Foxes, Spoiler, and Dr. Thompkins were absent.
Alfred was here, sitting back on one of the lounge chairs. He looked like he was fighting the urge to do things, but Bruce had made it abundantly clear this was a vacation for all of them, Alfred included.
Bruce himself was playing lifeguard, watching over his children. Damian was poking around a tidepool looking at the aquatic life. Dick looked like he was trying to do some ocean themed water-ballet, and Cass and Tim were pretending to bury Danny in the sand. (Pretending as Danny would occasionally ready up an intangible hand to mess with his siblings).
Jason himself was content to sit under the umbrella with his favorite copy of The Brönte Sisters and read it in between watching how things were going.
Jason may not claim the title of World's Greatest Detective, but he was no slouch. And he was trying to determine what had gone wrong enough to pull Bruce's head out his ass.
Two things stood out. One was Danny and Cass sticking to Tim's side like glue. The other was Dick didn't seemed to be doting on the demon brat as much as he did before. This led to the conclusion that whatever had happened, Demon Brat had done it to Replacement.
And there was a small part of him that felt jealous, that of course for precious Timmy things would change. but he shoved it aside because he knew it was bullshit.
For one thing Replacement himself got replaced. The fact that he'd rebranded as Red Robin rather than start anew showed how unwilling he'd been to give up the title. For another Demon Brat had literally stabbed the then Robin as a greeting, pushed him off the dinosaur, and (if rumors were correct) cut his grapple line and nothing had changed. So whatever Demon Brat had done, it was bad.
Not that you'd know from looking at the third brother. He'd assumed something demanding that kind of response would leave a scar, but Replacement didn't have a mark on him.
Jason's brain did a record scratch as the implication caught up to him. Tim Drake had scars. Hell, Jason had given him a large chuck of them when he broke into Titan's Tower when he was at his worst. And he'd seen him get treated for injuries after B had been recovered from the timestream and his torso had been even more messed up.
Yet now here was Replacement wearing nothing but a pair of black swim trunks with skin as fresh as a newborn's.
And the hair on the back of his neck prickled. Even plastic surgery to remove scars left it's own marks if you knew what to look for. And Tim had none of those. In fact the only thing Jason could think of that healed so cleanly, to completely was...was the Pit.
Demon Brat what did you do?!
