I freaking know.

Dally dies in the musical by getting hit by a train in an act of suicide.

The book is the original, the book shows the dangerous side of Dally, I can see why you all gravitate toward that version. I do too sometimes, depending on context. I get it that you might like it better.

But you’re seriously telling me you want Joshua Boone, a Black man, to be shot by the police eight times a week? Are you stupid? Are you fucking crazy? Maybe some people would be comfortable with playing that role and doing that, but do you not see why they chose differently? People of color, especially Black people! Are shot or put in jail or assaulted for absolutely no fucking reason pretty frequently. I think it’s fair that they didn’t want for him to go through that every night, because that would be pretty hard to separate from reality.

Getting hit by a train is easy to put aside in your mind and say, “yeah, that’s not going to happen to me.”

For a person of color, getting shot by the police isn’t easy to set aside, because that could happen to you without any reason or provoking at all except for the color of your mothertrucking skin.

So stop being a whiny bitch about it.

Coming at you live from my connection at the Denver Airport where I am trying to hold on to shreds of sanity I give you: an 1880’s AU I came up with because I wanted to make the gang cowboys/farm boys

Okay so picture it’s in 1880’s Oklahoma, the Curtis parents owned and ran a farm but they passed like in canon (but like a year prior, Darry’s around 18)

so now Darry is in charge of it and is also raising his brothers etc and running a farm and wrangling all the guys helping him which is going exactly how you’d expect it to go 😂

So our Darry decides he has the brilliant and foolproof idea that the best solution is he needs to marry a girl to help him (we can expect how that goes when he finds Betty 😂)

(I’ve written like the three chaps of it because I’m unhinged)

Yall vote on it cause I don’t have enough time in a week to do two diff stories unfortunately but I do have more SGUN one shot ideas that will get posted eventually either way to round out the story
