idk why 2020 has become the year of dairpression but here we go the saddest part of gg’s ending to me is the show gaslighting blair to make her think that she doesn’t deserve happiness. 

every character constantly pushes chuck on her, saying they belong together, telling her how much chuck loves her, and making her think that no one else will ever love her that much, because chuck loves the parts of her that don’t even have a hint of sparkle. all of the end of season three is chuck making her feel like she is just as terrible as him to make it her fault that he treated her like property. 

what’s worse too is that she says over and over again that chuck doesn’t make her happy!! she tells serena after they break up that she can’t remember the last time she felt joy. at the end of season four when talking to chuck about their “connection” she says what’s mere happiness in the face of all that in the saddest voice ever. it’s so sad that she is so gaslight by chuck that she thinks love must be this dark powerful thing. 

what makes it so frustrating that is that then there’s dan telling her that she deserves happiness, that he doesn’t think she’s awful, writing that he loves her not in spite of who she is but because of it, and wishing she could herself the way he sees her!!!
