erebus: what are your favorite and least favorite scenes?

my favoriteeeee..... uhm. hm. just one? maybe the flogging. i feel like it has to be the flogging. there's just too much to like about it. its genuinely like such a well constructed scene. the build up is sooo daunting. the drums. "is it going to hurt?" "very much. that's the point." the shot of hickey, almost naked by victorian standards, walking in the room with all eyes on him. Getting a glimpse of the last guy- it looks bad but its half of what hickey will get, in much less sensitive area. Watching them set the table. Manhandling him and tying him down. There is a brief moment where hickey tests the restraints and seems to prepare himself all while still wondering if this is really happening. Then the first lash hits and he is rudely awakened to how fucking real and painful this will be.

And from there its just spectacle. Watching everyone's reactions. Pinpointing the moment Tozer decides he does Not agree with command. The Jirv and Jop one-two punch. Crozier looking wholly satisfied and JFJ looking at him like there might be a sliver of remorse. There is none.

Then of COURSE! there's Adam Nagaitas acting his little panties off, fucking grunting and spitting and drooling all over the table. Tears well in his eyes but he never lets them fall. Does not give the satisfaction of a scream. His smile as he locks eyes with Crozier. Ugh.

The whole thing is extremely unnerving and kinda horny to me. <3.

(although shout out my to my second choice, the scene where jopson comes into the great room to give crozier the daily news while he pisses. idk domestic bliss or whatever im a big suckker for dialog heavy scenes that showcase characters' dynamics)

Aaaaaaand my "least favorite" ig is all the little scenes of goodsir toiling away with his research. idgaf. i skip that shit every time its boring as hell.

i think i would cope pretty damn well on account of my life being insane already. but seriously, as long as i have a book and a crush on someone i see daily i can survive literally anything. i'm not even joking. i'd be having a grand time on the hms erebus until the lead poisoning set in.

go for broke - what role do you think you’d be good in on a polar expedition?

honestly i figure i could make a good lieutenant. i've been in situations. but i'd also be one hell of a steward. jop and i were cut from the same cloth. (and he ends up getting promoted to lieutenant anyways so everything works out for me in the end) (until i die crawling across broken shale) (or i get gored by the tuunbaq while watching over my men's camp) (i never said i was going to survive the polar expedition)

3 am - have fitful night terrors filled with the spectre of mark lee showing me how to ball, but alas i am a mismatch! his haunting visage is opinionated, yet ceaselessly spits straight facts. he throws it back on an 8-track and i wake up in a cold sweat. there’s a watermelon in the corner of my room, still warm. he was here.
