I'll be referring to Daeron as Daeron Waters until I see with my own eyes his silver hair, just saying
He could very well still be a Targaryen even with another hair colour but in the show it would totally mean that he in fact is a bastard
And they would be ruining the dragon riders lore by doing so but still he's a waters in my eyes until further notice

“A son for a son”? After her faction killed a baby in its crib?

I love how GRRM always positions various Velaryon brothers as having a close bond with each other. Although not much is known about some of the sibling dynamics in the family, when GRRM chooses to write about them, it is with a sense of brotherhood and unity.
Even in such instances where the relationship is only implied in the text, it is as a positive one. Aurane is a bastard and yet he integrates himself amongst the highborn without any issue, suggesting a somewhat polished upbringing in a castle. He also served in the Velaryon fleet, led by his trueborn half-brother Lord of Driftmark, Monford. It's mentioned in the books that bastard children are usually kept away from the family because they are viewed as a source of shame. It is considered very unusual for a bastard to be raised in a castle with their trueborn family (re: Jon Snow). But that could certainly be the case with the Bastard of Driftmark. His moniker does suggest a close association with house Velaryon which means he was not a bastard that was hidden away. Especially when you consider that Aurane, despite being very treacherous and self-serving, never once does anything against his brother's family. When he sets his sight on a castle he wants to claim, it is not Driftmark, but another castle. He sails his powerful fleet past Driftmark thrice and makes no move to attack the seat governed by his late brother’s son even though house Velaryon is in service to the rebel Stannis and Aurane is trying to ingratiate himself with the Lannister regime. Despite the commonly held belief that bastards will seek to harm their trueborn siblings, Aurane is not once shown acting against Monford or his remaining family at Driftmark. All his treachery is reserved for the Lannisters, who are more or less responsible for Monford’s death at the Battle of the Blackwater.
Addam & Alyn's relationship is a prime example of Velaryon brotherhood. Although the narrative presents their identity arcs as Velaryons differently (in relation to their parents), it’s done so in a manner that still connects the brothers to each other. Alyn’s actions are often framed in the text as a "what would Addam do in this situation?" way. They participate in the Red Sowing together and they clearly remained close enough to each other for the duration that Addam was quickly able to save Alyn's life. They get physically separated afterwards only because Alyn is bedbound from his burns. Alyn openly laughs in the face of a King who calls him brother and says that a "brother by blood" is the only true form of brotherhood. Years after Addam's death, Alyn still honors his brother with a touching memorial.
There are several instances of brotherly love shown between Jace/Luke/Joff as well. From defending each other from a bully to all three echoing each other in upholding their mother's claim, they are always in sync. The loss of a brother is expressed openly and the desire for vengeance too.
The more minor instances of brotherhood in the family further showcase this.
Sometimes it's as simple as hanging out together to serve as royal escorts:
Though Daemon Velaryon, as the Crown’s lord admiral and master of ships, was in King’s Landing with the regents, that did not prevent Jaehaerys and Alysanne from flying their dragons to Driftmark and touring his shipyards, escorted by his sons, Corwyn, Jorgen, and Victor.
Other times it's plotting together. The Silent Five may be committing treason, but they do that as a united front:
When they took their case before the sick and failing Viserys, they made the grievous mistake of questioning the legitimacy of his daughter’s children. Viserys had their tongues removed for this insolence, though he let them keep their heads.
.
Three of the “silent five” had died during the Dance, fighting for Aegon II against Rhaenyra…but two survived.
[...]
“Lacking tongues with which to make their appeal, they preferred to argue with swords,” says Mushroom. However, the plot to murder their young lord went awry when the guards at Castle Driftmark proved loyal to the Sea Snake’s memory and his chosen heir. Ser Malentine was slain during the attempt; his brother captured.
The Velaryon brothers who act within the law are also depicted taking action together each time. Interesting how it's not specified which of the two wishes to claim Driftmark for himself, over the other. They are partners in all that they do and that's all that matters:
All came forward now, insisting that they had more right to Driftmark than “this bastard of Hull, whose mother was a mouse.” Ser Vaemond’s sons Daemion and Daeron took their claim to the council in King’s Landing. When the Hand and the regents ruled against them, they wisely chose to accept the decision and be reconciled with Lord Alyn.
I just think it’s neat that regardless of the circumstances of the characters’ upbringing, whether trueborn or bastard, there’s a supportive bond between Velaryon brothers each time.

We need to make this a thing. Crossovers were my favorite kinds of fics when I was younger so this is motivating af. Anyway...I'm still evil (please be evil back 💜) 1, 16, and 33 with brandon, alicent, daeron and Lacie (feel free to make mine more difficult as well, I'm up to the challenge honestly)
Oh my god yes please I am so down for all of the crossovers I also loved doing them when I was younger so this is so fun for me
Also this is so much longer than five sentences but the creative juices are flowing rn and who am I to stop them?
Introduction, Questioning, and Expectations
Alicent stood in front of the window in her chambers, humming a sweet song to the babe bundled in her arms and swaying back and forth softly. She didn’t seem to notice as Lacie and Daeron entered the room.
“Mother,” Daeron spoke up gently. “Lacie and I have come to see you and the baby.“
Alicent stopped humming and turned to look at them. Although her eyes were sunken and her skin pale, she looked happier than Lacie had seen her in a long time.
“My son,” she said, her voice overflowing with joy. “Lacie. It is so good to have you both here. The gods have truly blessed me this day.”
She moved towards them, bouncing the baby in her arms. Lacie felt Daeron’s arm tighten in her grasp, and she rubbed her thumb over his knuckles soothingly.
“Daeron, this your brother, Brandon,” Alicent announced, smiling down at her infant son as she spoke.
Brandon had the same red curls as his mother, and his eyes were wide and dark. He was the spitting image of his mother.
“Oh, he’s adorable,” Lacie cooed, reaching out to tap little Brandon on the nose. He giggled rather cutely. Lacie couldn’t help but smile at the sound.
“Isn’t he?” Alicent exclaimed. “He’s the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.”
“Does he remain a bastard?” Daeron asked his mother, sounding concerned. “Has his father come forward to claim him?”
Alicent pulled Brandon close to her chest. “He has yet to be claimed,” she admitted. “And I doubt he will be.”
“Why not?” Daeron demanded. “Do you not wish to see him acknowledged?”
“Daeron-” Lacie started to interject.
“What I wish is to avoid another crisis of succession,” Alicent responded, interrupting her. “And if he were to be claimed, there may be one.”

Yet it would all be undone in a trice by the king’s half-sisters, the very twins whose succession Unwin Peake had been so determined to prevent. Fewer than a dozen maids remained, and the press had thinned considerably, when a sudden trumpet blast heralded the arrival of Baela Velaryon and Rhaena Corbray. The doors to the throne room were thrown open, and the daughters of Prince Daemon entered upon a blast of winter air. Lady Baela was great with child, Lady Rhaena wan and thin from her miscarriage, yet seldom had they seemed more as one. Both were dressed in gowns of soft black velvet with rubies at their throats, and the three-headed dragon of House Targaryen on their cloaks. Mounted on a pair of coal black chargers, the twins rode the length of the hall side by side. When Ser Marston Waters of the Kingsguard blocked their path and demanded they dismount, Lady Baela slashed him across the cheek with her riding crop. “His Grace my brother can command me. You cannot.” At the foot of the Iron Throne they reined up. Lord Unwin rushed forward, demanding to know the meaning of this. The twins paid him no more heed than they would a serving man. “Brother,” Lady Rhaena said to Aegon, “if it please you, we have brought your new queen.” Her lord husband, Ser Corwyn Corbray, brought the girl forward. A gasp went through the hall. “Lady Daenaera of House Velaryon,” boomed out the herald, somewhat hoarsely, “daughter of the late and lamented Daeron of that house and his lady wife, Hazel of House Harte, also departed, a ward of Lady Baela of House Targaryen and Alyn the Oakenfist of House Velaryon, Lord Admiral, Master of Driftmark, and Lord of the Tides.”

Morning & Silverwing.
[Ok, a little side bar to the "dragons that never were" series: what happened to some of the dragons that survived the Dance? 4 managed to do so: Silverwing, Morning, Sheepstealer, and Cannibal. Three of whom were strong, full-grown dragons. Yet, just twenty-two years later all four of these healthy dragons were dead. In peacetime. And no viable new ones hatched in those twenty-two years. So here's a little blurb of fanfic that fits in with the rest of the "dragons that never were"'s thesis of: but what if the dragons had survived and continued to hatch? The following is presented in the style of Fire & Blood. Also any dragon names you don't recognize are other dragons from this series that I haven't posted yet. I also might add pics of Silverwing and Morning to this. x.x]
"Aegon the IV was given the sobriquet of "the Unworthy", and it was well earned, but he had another. He also was notably dragonless, despite many efforts to claim a living dragon or hatch an egg. These whispers did not improve when, at the age of twelve, and freshly knighted, Daemon Waters - later Daemon Blackfyre - decided it was time to claim a dragon and outshone his father. The only dragon he deemed worth of him was the oldest and most powerful dragon remaining in the world. Silverwing, the mount of Good Queen Alysanne, had made her home on the shores of the Red Lake since the end of the Dance, and she was who Daemon had resolved to claim. Neither of his indulgent parents were of a mind to stop him, and so his mother, the princess Daena, flew him to Silverwing's lair atop her own mount Aurion.
It was 182 AC, and by this time Silverwing was 145 years old, making her the third oldest dragon in House Targaryen's long history. She was only surpassed by Vhagar and Balerion, who were 181 and 208 respectively. Well fed and left to live in the wild, she had grown into a massive beast, big enough that a man mounted on a warhorse could comfortably have ridden down her gullet, possibly even larger than Vhagar had been at the same age. According to the smallfolk, she slept often and only flew to hunt, but when Aurion appeared in the air over Silverwing's home, her roar near shook the earth. Hearing it, princess Daena began to have second thoughts and tried to talk her son out of it, but he would have none of it. He was a knight, he said, and bore the ancestral blade of house Targaryen besides. Owing to her own young age when she claimed her mount, the princess relented, and landed close to Silverwing's lair to let her son make his way into it.
It must have been a tense hour sitting on the lakeshore for the princess, but she did not enter the lair looking for her son. She knew him well enough to know that he would leave that cave on Silverwing, or not at all. At the end of the hour, the ancient dragon burst from her home and into the sky, Daemon Rivers clinging to the barest remnants of Ulf the White's saddle. She urged Aurion into the sky to follow Silverwing, although the dragon was far too young and far too small to challenge Silverwing, perhaps she could catch her son if he was tossed from the dragon's back.
Despite her worries, he was not tossed from her back, and eventually Silverwing settled, accepting Daemon Waters as her first rider since the end of the dance. The four of them flew back to King's landing triumphantly, and the cry of joy from the smallfolk on seeing Alysanne's dragon returned to the family after so long an absence could be heard even from the air. The only person not to cheer was said to be the King, and although he did congratulate his son when he landed, his jealousy was poorly hidden. He'd tried, and failed, to claim this same dragon, and still had the scars to show.
Prince Daeron - Aegon's IV's only legitimate son and his heir - was, by this time, already married with four children of his own, one of whom had also bonded a dragon and taken his first few flights. He'd never shown any real interest in attempting to claim a dragon, and possibly even assumed he couldn't owing to neither of his parents being dragon riders. But when his half-brother landed the ancient dame in the courtyard of the Red Keep, something changed in him. He turned to his studies, looking for any accounts of Valyrians bonding a dragon at so advanced an age. It is unknown if he found any, but it is known that by the end of the year he'd resolved to bond a dragon. A great beast to match his brother's, or defend against her if the need arose; although his maester recorded that the prince's words were "to join my brother in the skies so we might find common ground and be closer for it".
Prince Daeron seem to believe he should have a mount to rival his brother's, or near enough as he could. Tales of Sheepstealer had long come from the mountains around the Vale, but no definitive sightings could be confirmed, nor could the dragon's location or the status of his rider. Nettles had been a mere 16 years of age when she'd bonded the beast, and would now be nearing seventy, and so could yet live. Cannibal, by far the largest dragon left in the world, still made his lair on Dragonstone, but even Daemon hadn't been fool enough to attempt to claim him, and neither would Daeron. With Silverwing in Daemon's hands, the next largest dragon was Morning.
The previous year the lady Rhaena had passed away, leaving Morning without a rider. At five-and-three she was a respectable size, although a bit under half the size of Silverwing. She made her nest on the slopes of the Dragonmont, as Lady Rhaena's children had been expressly forbidden by the crown from attempting to bond any dragon at all, even their mother's. The edict had come from Aegon III, who'd said "the children are Hightowers, not Targaryens, and I've not yet forgotten what Hightowers did to my mother and my family." Three times Rhaena had petitioned to have the edict reversed, and all three kings had refused to do it. Even Aegon the Dragonless saw the folly in allowing other houses to have dragons, and Viserys II had gone so far as to include all of the other Targaryens who married outside of House Targaryen and House Velaryon. Sunspark and Hurion would be returned to the crown when their riders died, and the lady Laena Velaryon's children would only be allowed to claim a dragon if they married a Targaryen. This meant that the formidable pink dragon was free to be bonded.
When Daeron told his father he intended to bond Morning, a greedy smile crept across the fat king's face, "Good," he was heard to say, "the we all shall know for true if you are my son." Aemon the Dragonknight, the King's late brother and Daeron's rumored sire, had also been a dragon rider. Daeron, however, had seen portraits of his father in his youth, and knew that he resembled that young man far more closely than he resembled his uncle.
"I do not seek to ride Morning to validate your claims of my bastardy," he'd replied, "I do it to increase the strength of our house and bind myself even more closely to my beloved half-brother."
He had no mother to fly him to Dragonstone, and so he took a ship. He dressed in riding leathers, and made his way to Morning's lair. The claiming of one's dragon is a private affair for nearly all Targaryen riders, and Daeron was no different. It was said, though, that he was not long gone in the caves, and soon the warm afternoon light bathed Morning's pink scales, her rider secure in his seat upon her back. Daeron, it seemed, was more than capable of bonding a dragon and was a natural rider besides. Flying made him happy in ways that nothing previously had.
It also proved to be a prudent choice, for when the king died later that year he legitimized his bastard children, and twelve years later the house of the dragon once again found itself divided. It was neigh on seventy years since the dance had ended, and the advent of the Blackfyre rebellions meant that fire would rain from the sky once more."

going home had only reminded daeron how different life in braavos was, how much he'd missed home, and how little there was for him in westeros. the decision to return one he'd made almost reluctantly. however, he was happy to see his cousin. after handing his horse off to a stablehand, he turned toward visera. are you ever going to be brave enough to try your hand at jousting? ❞ both times he'd competed he'd had fun despite not making it far into either tournament.

Tamed Targaryen Heart
Aemond Targaryen x fem!wife! reader
[warnings: pregnancy, difficult birth
[word count: 1.1k
[a/n: maybe i will turn this into a series…
[note | pls don’t just like, reblog & give me feedback. i don’t want to get shadowbanned
The dimly lit chamber was filled with the scent of lavender and the muffled sound of Aemond Targaryen’s pacing footsteps. He glanced over at you, lying on the bed, sweat beading on your forehead as you gripped the bed sheets tightly. Your two sons, Aerys and Daeron, were asleep in their chambers, blissfully unaware of the turmoil that you were enduring.
“Aemond,” you groaned, your voice strained with frustration and pain, “I can’t take this anymore. This girl is taking her sweet time.”
Aemond moved swiftly to your side, his single eye filled with concern. He brushed a damp strand of hair from your face. “You are strong, my love. She will come when she is ready.”
“I’m tired of waiting!” you snapped, your patience long gone. “I just want her out. Now!”
The midwives and nurses exchanged wary glances but kept their focus on preparing for the birth. Your irritation was palpable, and the tension in the room thickened with each passing moment.
“Why don’t we try going for a walk?” you suggested suddenly, struggling to sit up. “Maybe that will help get things moving.”
Aemond hesitated. “Are you sure that’s wise? Perhaps we should bring one of the nurses.”
“No,” you insisted, your eyes blazing with determination. “Just you and me. I need to get out of this room.”
Aemond nodded, knowing better than to argue when you were in this state. He helped you to your feet, supporting you as you made your way out of the chamber and into the dimly lit corridors of the Red Keep. The familiar halls were quiet, the stillness broken only by the occasional flicker of torchlight and the distant murmur of guards on patrol.
As you walked, Aemond kept a steadying arm around your waist, his presence a comforting anchor. “What shall we name her?” he asked softly, hoping to distract you from the pain.
“I don’t know,” you admitted, leaning heavily on him. “I haven’t been able to think of anything that feels right.”
“How about Visenya?” Aemond suggested, his voice thoughtful. “After the conqueror queen.”
You shook your head. “That’s a cursed name. Even so, it doesn’t fit. She needs a name that’s isn’t so common.” You continued your slow pace, Aemond offering more suggestions: Rhaella, Alysanne, Naerys. Each name was met with a thoughtful pause, then a gentle shake of your head.
Finally, as you turned a corner, you stopped abruptly. “Aemond, what about Aelora?”
“Aelora,” he repeated, testing the name on his tongue. “Aelora Targaryen. It’s beautiful.”
You smiled faintly, a glimmer of excitement breaking through your exhaustion. “Aelora it is.”
Suddenly, a sharp pain gripped you, and you doubled over with a cry. Aemond’s grip tightened as he steadied you. “What is it?”
A pool of water began to form as it dripped down your leg. “My water just broke,” you gasped, clutching your swollen belly. “Its time now…she likes the name Aelora.” You slightly chuckled in pain.
Panic and excitement surged through Aemond as he helped you back towards your chambers, shouting for the midwives as you neared. The nurses rushed to your side, guiding you back to the bed and preparing for the final stages of labor.
The next few hours were a blur of pain and struggle. You gripped Aemond’s hand tightly, your nails digging into his skin as you fought to bring your daughter into the world. Aemond stayed by your side, whispering words of encouragement and love, his own heart aching to see you in such pain.
“Come on, my love,” he urged softly, brushing his lips against your forehead. “You can do this. She’s almost here.”
“I can’t,” you cried out, tears streaming down your face. “It hurts too much.”
“You can,” he insisted, his voice firm but gentle. “You are the strongest woman I know. Just a little more.”
With one final, agonizing push, a wail filled the room, and your daughter was born. You collapsed back against the pillows, sobbing with relief and exhaustion. Aemond’s eye shone with pride and joy as the midwife placed the tiny, crying bundle into your arms.
“Look, Aemond,” you whispered, your voice choked with emotion. “She’s finally here. Our little Aelora.”
Aemond gazed down at the newborn, his heart swelling with love. He gently touched the baby’s cheek, awed by the miracle in his arms. “She’s perfect,” he murmured, his voice thick with emotion. “You did it, my love. You brought her into the world.”
You held Aelora close, tears of happiness mingling with the sweat on your face. Aemond wrapped his arms around both of you, a rare, genuine smile spreading across his face.
Once the midwives had cleaned and tended to both you and the baby, Aemond and you made your way to your sons’ chambers, eager to introduce them to their baby sister. Aerys and Daeron, roused from their sleep, looked up in wonder as their parents entered with the tiny bundle.
“This is your sister, Aelora,” Aemond said softly, kneeling down to their level. “Say hello.”
Aerys, the elder of the two, reached out a tentative hand to touch his sister’s tiny fingers. “She’s so small,” he whispered in awe.
Daeron, younger but no less curious, leaned in to peer at the baby. “Can we hold her?”
“Of course,” you said, carefully transferring Aelora into Aerys’s waiting arms. The boys’ faces lit up with joy as they cradled their sister, their excitement infectious.
Aemond watched his family with a sense of profound contentment, a rare, unguarded smile gracing his lips. For this moment, all was right in their world. His heart swelled with love and pride, knowing that together, he had a beautiful family. And so, in the heart of the Red Keep, surrounded by the warmth of your family, you both welcomed your daughter into the world. Your hearts full of hope and love for the days to come.
