Never let team Black stans and Targ fanboys gaslight you to believe that house Hightower is an enemy of house Targaryen:
1) Before the conquest, Aegon and Visenya visited the Oldtown and spent time at the Citadel.
2) The Hightowers did not march to the Field of Fire, and surrendered without a fight.
3) Aegon's reign officially began in Oldtown after he was anointed and crowned by the High Septon (who was a Hightower) in the Starry Sept, and was celebrated by the people of the city as he rode over the city on Balerion.
4) House Hightower was one of the few houses that helped the Targaryens in the First Dornish War.
5) Aegon agreed to betroth his son Maegor to Ceryse Hightower when Ceryse's uncle suggested that Maegor should be wed to his niece, and look what F&B has to say about Maegor and Ceryse: "Maegor boasted to having consummated the marriage a dozen times the night of the wedding, and those who had seen the bedding agreed that Maegor was a lusty husband."
6) Maegor recognized Ceryse as the official Queen of Westeros, even though he had two more wives, and gave all of her lands and titles back to her.
7) When Rhaena Targaryen fled from Maegor, he sent a rider to Oldtown commanding Lord Hightower to behead Rhaella (who was training to become a Septa) as punishment for her mother's betrayal. Lord Hightower refused, and imprisoned the messenger instead.
8) Alicent fetched old Jaehaerys' meals, helped him wash and dress, and read to him. On her deathbed, she said: "I want to see my sons again, and Helaena, my sweet girl. Oh... and King Jaehaerys. I will read to him, as i did when i was little. He used to say i had a lovely voice." She didn't mention her father or her brothers, but she mentioned Jaehaerys. That shows how much she loved him.
9) Rhaena Targaryen (Daemon's daughter) married Garmund Hightower, and had six daughters by him. As one of the few remaining heirs to the iron throne and the sister of the King, she had no reason to marry a third son and have not one, not two, but six daughters by him if she didn't love him.
10) They remained loyal to the Targaryens during the Robert's Rebellion.
11) Unlike Jaime Lannister and Barristan Selmy, Gerold Hightower remained loyal to Rhaegar till his last breath. He refused several opportunities to leave unharmed, and eventually died while he was defending Rhaegar's son.
12) Daenaerys thinks house Hightower is among the houses that will help her take back the iron throne. She assumes correctly because the Hightowers believe in a prophecy that says Oldtown would burn and its monuments would be cast down if they opposed the "Blood of the Dragon." That's why they gave full support to neither side during the First Blackfyre Rebellion, keeping a foot in both Targaryen and Blackfyre camps.

The amount of morons I’ve seen on twitter that insist ‘a son for a son’ is still owed because Jaehaerys wasn’t Alicent’s son, so Rhaenyra somehow has rights to Aegon’s head is baffling.
Actually, scratch that. It’s not baffling at all, because this isn’t the first time I’ve seen such braindead takes from that side of the fandom.
Last I checked, Aemond killed Luke. Not Aegon. Alicent served up Aegon’s head on a platter, without even once considering that should Aemond live then Rhaenyra will come for his head too. And not only did she betray Aegon, Alicent’s actions may very well lead to both Gwayne and Criston’s deaths. And Daeron, who has done nothing but be born to her.
As for the stupidity of the insistence on ‘a son for a son’, maybe Condal and Hess should remember that the last time Rhaenyra sought revenge for Luke, a toddler was beheaded in his bed because of her husband!!! And if that son wasn’t enough—the poor, innocent baby son of Helaena—and a debt still needs to be repaid, does that mean Aegon now has rights to kill one of Daemon’s children then?
Same logic right? Rhaenyra didn’t get Alicent’s son’s head for Luke, but Aegon lost a son. So if Rhaenyra has rights to Aegon’s head, then Aegon has the exact same right to murder one of her remaining children yes? Baela maybe, when Aegon claims Dragonstone. Or Joffrey even, should he survive till the end. Maybe Rhaenyra can even choose and then watch, like Daemon made Helaena.
But that’s not right is it. Aegon would be a monster if he did that. No sane person would do that. No good person should want that kind of revenge.
But when it comes to Rhaenyra, TB will justify anything right? She indirectly yet directly causes the deaths of nearly 100 dragonseeds—oh that’s fine, they consented to being in the pit knowing they could die! She’s not responsible at all! It’s not as if she ensured they couldn’t escape right? The death of a toddler wasn’t enough because it wasn’t the right son, so of course she gets to ask for another too.
As if Jaehaerys wasn’t worth a life at all. Then again, what can be expected when even after his death, in a fight about his murder, she only ever refers to him as ‘boy’, ‘child’, and my favorite: ‘it’.
Rhaenyra was always going to have to kill Aegon for the throne. And that was at minimum, unless she went for Aemond too. Daeron I could see being spared by being given to the Faith or the Maesters. It was very, very, very obvious to anyone with even a shred of media comprehension (which seems to be very little given the amount of stupid comments I’ve seen). The issue is that she had to go on and make it very clear that Aegon will die, not for taking her throne or whatnot, but as penance for Luke dying. That is where she crosses the line. She can’t and won’t spare Aegon, but the least she could do was not be a lying liar about it.
Also: I never subscribed to the theory that Alicent will be the one to poison Aegon in the end, because I never considered that a mother would be so cruel to do so. She ruined his life; placed him on this goddawful path to war that he never wanted. The least she could do was not betray her own son that way. But after today? Not a chance in hell she won’t be the one to kill him for her precious Rhaenyra. I hope when all is said and done, and she’s locked in a tower for the rest of her life, she knows that it was all her fault.
Because F&B made it clear that Aegon had a legitimate claim. Is it a usurpation if by all laws and tradition he’s the rightful heir? The show decided to go the idiotic route of making it an outright usurpation. The Dance was inevitable in F&B. Here, it seems to have been caused purposely, with one of its leading causes becoming a major turncloak. And it’s sad really, because the Dance has barely even started. HOTD could’ve waited to make Alicent a traitor. Wait until the Gullet and Jace and Rhaenyra’s inevitable fall to madness, to make Alicent’s plea more realistic because it happens when the Greens look like they are losing. Instead, they did this. Unbelievable.

Kinslayer, Kingslayer, King
For @hoosbandewan
Aemond x Aegon’s wife! Laenor's daughter!reader(aka a black reader)
Cw: murder, fraticide, regicide, conspiracy, manipulation, infanticide(blood and cheese happened sorry), revenge, whatever murdering your husband is called. Some smut and knife play.
The reader came out rather evil and i love it
You play the dutiful wife all too well.
How could you not when you pretended to be the loyal daughter only to turn on the woman who birthed you for a crown?
Rhaenyra had deserved it, she killed your father to be with Daemon and then named your bastard brother heir over you, her only trueborn child and firstborn. Then there was what she allowed Daemon to do to your only child that night.
Aegon deserved it too, he never knew the woman he had and now he wouldn’t have you nor his crown either. Aegon who took everything for granted and then some more. He had taken you even if Aemond was the one you loved since you were children.
As far as you know, Aegon was the one who killed Rhaenys at Rook’s Rest.
Aemond will finally have what was owed to him.
“It looks better on you than it did, who would’ve thought Aegon’s head would be too small for such a burden.” You whisper as you light a candle to the Stranger.
Orwyle is too vigilant and good at his craft to allow the two of you the chance to finish the job, but nature will take its course soon enough. The moment he is dead, Aemond will seize the crown and you will be his in truth.
Once Aegon is dealt with and his mother put away to keep her from interfering with your glorious reign, you will rain fire and blood on your darling mother and her husband.
Jaehaerys had been killed by Daemon just as he once ordered the death of your father, Ser Laenor. Aemond wonders if Daemon knew the true parentage of the boy seeing he went after him in the first place. Perhaps the man did and that is why your sweet little son was beheaded in his sleep along with his nurse.
You want blood and to salt their wounds as they beg for mercy you will not give.
Aemond will give you another son, one who will not have Aegon named as his father, one that will be king after him. You have always wanted to name your son Aemon. A tribute to your grandmother, to your lineage, and most importantly a reminder that your claim was superior even to that of his dearly departed father.
Viserys and Aegon ruled because of the Great Council, but by tradition the throne should have passed to you had Rhaenys not been passed over for his father.
“Once your mourning period is over, we will be wed and crowned together. Grandsire should’ve have crowned you with him, those loyal to you would have come to our side and your mother left with no choice to surrender.” Aemond will keep this promise, he will not deny you what you are owed. Aegon had not cared about the insult to you, he never cared to respect you and keep his vows and always caved to their manipulative grandfather’s pressures.
Aemond was not weak like him, he rode the largest dragon, he was the true threat to your mother’s crumbling rule and his brother’s underserved crown.
His mother may hate him, but he had you. You who shared his drive and anger and loved him to his bones.
You forgave him for killing your brother, you understood it was an accident in his part, you will forgive him for killing Rhaenys to kill his brother.
“Six moons is too long, my love, I want to wed you now.” You kissed him with great passion, your loss had ignited a fire inside you so hot you no longer knew what to do with it. “I want a son; I need your seed to take once more. Daemon may have won the battle, but I will win this fucking war.”
“No, my darling, we will win this fucking war.” The Prince Regent does not deny you your desires and in the hour of the Wolf you threaten the handmaiden caring for Aegon that night to make his poppy milk strong enough to fell an elephant.
By morning you are a widow, by noon his mother is sent to Oldtown and by the end of the week the two of you are wedded and bedded.
You do not wear black or green, you wear red. Blood red and cut so low it was considered too scandalous for his pious mother. But no matter, those who speak against you will have to voice their complaints with your dragons, and your new husband was the most fearsome of the three.
The fear they have of the two of you keeps tongues from wagging, his mother looks horrified as you lick the dagger he feeds you the best of his plate like a brazen whore.
Alicent’s rule was over, yours had only just begun.
“A dragon cannot change it’s scales,” you use his own dagger to tease him, straddling him and riding him with a torturous pace.
“It is merely our nature.” The new king groans as the cold of the dagger trailing down his throat heightens his own pleasure. He wanted to take his time with you, but your wickedness knows no limits as you push him to the brink of madness.
Aemond is still lost in the haze of his climax, still sheathed inside you as he fills you with his seed, when his own dagger is stabbed into his black heart.
The last words he hears as he dies are, “Did you think I did not know who killed my grandmother, dear husband? Did you think I truly forgave you for killing my little brother and getting our baby boy murdered, sweet boy?
When i said I would win the war, i meant I, alone, would rule."

so this is how blood & cheese should have went down if hotd had actual good writers: the plotline starts with rhaenyra wailing and sobbing over luke's death on dragonstone. daemon tries to console her as much as he can stand to do so. she tells him that she wants them dead, every single last one of those traitors. daemon grins of course, because this is how he raised her to be: a vengeful, spoiled, hateful, vindictive monster (he has been grooming her since she was 8 years old to hate her half-siblings after all). the next scene in this plotline would have us see to daemon and mysaria in bed together in harrenhal, where he painstakingly details out what he wants her to do exactly. he gives not just mysaria, but us, the viewers, word for word the sequence of events that he wants to happen on the night of the assassination. we the viewers are deeply horrified by his orders, because what he orders is monstrous. book readers would be kept on their toes, because surely the show would change this event in some ways, right? daemon describing it exactly as it was in the book has to be a red herring right?, is what they would be thinking. and show-only watchers would be on the edge of their seats wondering throughout the entirety of the episode if something so horrific would actually take place on screen. both book readers and show watchers would be left with the question of, is this seriously what's going to happen? no fucking way..., when watching the episode unfold. the next scenes concerning the plotline would be mysaria hiring blood and cheese, a scene or two establishing their characters, them getting intel on where helaena and the kids will be, talking about how difficult it would be to break into maegor's holdfast bc of all the guards so the only option is the tower of the hand ... and then eventually night falls over king's landing and we are in the red keep. we'll be near the end of the episode, like the last 15 minutes, and we follow cheese as he leads blood through the tunnels to the tower of the hand where alicent's room is. earlier in the ep we learned helaena always takes the kiddos there to say goodnight to grandma. they sneak into the room where they strangle her maid, kill the guards in front of the door quietly, and beat alicent until she's knocked out and they tie her up and gag her so she cannot be heard. then cheese goes to stand next to the door in preparation for helaena's arrival, while blood sits on a sofa facing the door. the next scenes would be focused on helaena as she gathers the kiddos to go from maegor's holdfast to the tower of the hand, and we are getting eerie, dark gothic grunge vibes from the camera shots as she gets these weird premonitions, shivers crawling up her spine. but she still goes to the tower of the hand, while the viewers would be screaming and yelling and crying and sobbing at the tv begging her not to go there. but helaena goes anyway because this is a canon event baby. i told you in the beginning of the episode what was going to happen :^) and then it happens exactly as described in both f&b and earlier in the ep by daemon. the beheading would of course not be shown but i would have jaehaerys' blood spray all over helaena and alicent while she does the ellaria scream and alicent is crying unable to do anything bc her hands are bound behind her back and she has a gag in her mouth. the final few shots of the episode would be in slow motion (all the while you hear helaena's screams) as the entire red keep hears this harrowed shrieking and so the guards and the maids and the servants all run to alicent's rooms and we see the pools of blood underneath everyone's feet as they go in and out of the room then finally we come to the last shot of the episode which is aegon's frightened face as he slowly walks through the chaos, puts his hand on the slightly closed door, pushes it open (all the while we hear helaena's unending screams), and he quietly says, "jaehaerys?" roll credits.
that's how you write and adapt a fucking book scene @ ryan condal & co you pieces of worthless shit.

The Fall from the Heavens (6)
[ canon • Aemond x Strong • niece female ]
[ warnings: angst, arranged engagement, beheading, violence, swearing, humiliation, chauvinism ]
[ description: A cool distance turns into friendship and more when two children see that they can find refuge and understanding in each other. However, naïve dreams collide with the reality in which every event has consequences and what once could have been love becomes a dark, newly painful obsession. Angst, sexual tension, obsession, violence, madness, very dark Aemond. ]
The story in this series is an alternate reality from the oneshot Stay and love, leave and die, in which Aemond reads the letters his niece has sent to him over the years. They are the same characters and it shows what would have happened between them − I have changed the background story from their childhood slightly for the sake of the plot.

_____
She knew what awaited her after what she had done. Her servant informed her that her mother wanted to see her before she managed to get out of bed, tired after a sleepless night.
She herself didn't know what she was feeling anymore, her anger at him and his reaction quickly passed, leaving her with an emptiness.
She thought he had acted so violently because he had been frightened, because he had allowed himself to be weak in front of her and feared that she would use it against him, that this was all her mother's plan.
It terrified her how much they didn't trust each other.
She felt a tightness in her throat at the memory of their fingers touching in the air in the firelight, his wonderful, familiar scent, her cheek snuggled against his bare chest as he stroked her hair.
In that one moment, it was as it had once been.
She stepped into her mother's old chamber as if to an execution, knowing what awaited her, and make no mistake. Her mother stood in front of her, gesturing impatiently, and she stared at her slightly rounded abdomen, Daemon sat in a chair a few steps away, looking at his fingers, bored.
"Why were you in the Prince's chamber in the middle of the night? If he harmed you, tell me." She added, as if she had suddenly realised that what had taken place there might not have happened with her consent.
She didn't know what she should say; she could feel her hands trembling with shame, everything that was pressing against her lips seemed pathetic and worthless.
She herself no longer knew why she had actually gone there.
To feel him again, she thought with pain.
Her mother snorted, impatient, slapping her hands against her thighs in a gesture of helplessness.
"Daemon. Say something." She demanded and he sighed heavily, lowering his hand to his armrest, finally looking at her with raised eyebrows.
"Leave us alone, ābrazȳrys. I need to speak with her in private." He said sternly, with a kind of disappointment and mockery from which she felt discomfort in her stomach.
It would be better to have her heart ripped out.
She humiliated herself.
Her mother protested, however, seeing that her daughter would not say anything to her she gave in, sighed in disbelief and left, closing the door behind her.
She was sure she would hear harsh words of contempt from him, however, he just looked at her vigilantly, tapping his pointing finger on the wood where his hand lay.
"What happened there. Speak." He said impatiently, and she swallowed hard, feeling shame, feeling pain, feeling boundless sadness and grief.
"I wanted to know if he had read my letters, if…"
"That's not what I was asking. I asked what happened there." He interrupted her matter-of-factly, completely uninterested in her weighty tale full of longing. She pressed her lips together and lowered her gaze, unable to bear his intense stare.
"We had an argument. Then we… reconciled. And then we argued again. Then I left." She muttered, not knowing how to describe it so as not to humiliate herself further.
Daemon snorted, shaking his head in disbelief.
"Have you reconciled with each other intensely enough that you should drink moon tea?" He asked rubbing the fingers of his hand against each other, raising his eyebrows, clearly expecting an unequivocal answer.
"No." She replied quietly, and he sighed heavily, tilting his head back, closing his eyes.
"He didn't do anything against your will?"
"No."
He ran his hand over his face, tightening his fingers on the base of his nose, as if this conversation was making him very tired.
"Do you still want to marry him?"
She looked at him in disbelief, feeling that she had run out of words – her lips opened but nothing came out of them, she shook her head as if she didn't understand his question. She could see impatience in his eyes, he held his hand out in front of him in a gesture waiting for an answer.
"Yes or no?"
"I don't know. He's aggressive and violent, I don't recognise him." She muttered, lowering her gaze to her trembling hands entwined on her stomach.
"I warned you."
"I know." She said softly and swallowed loudly. "Do you…do you think the Queen will report to Lord Arryn about what I did?"
She heard his laughter full of pity as he massaged his temple, closing his eyes as if he felt nauseous from the very thought of Alicent.
"That sanctimonious whore would admit that her son was hosting his niece in his bed? Lord Baratheon would not be pleased." He said with a sneer, and she felt a kind of relief and disappointment at the same time that her future marriage was in no danger.
"You still haven't answered my question." He said impatiently, looking away; she could see by his posture that the frustration caused by her indecision was growing in him.
She felt her heart pounding hard, a cold sweat on the back of her neck.
Did she want this or not?
She had experienced with him the pleasure she had never given herself with her own hand, his scent, his arms, his voice, his face, his hands, she wanted it all more than ever.
And then she remembered his fingers clenched on her cheeks so painfully tight she felt like crying, his cold, enraged voice, his wide-open eye in which madness lurked.
"He doesn't love me." She muttered, pressing her lips together, trying to hold back the tears of regret, humiliation and disappointment that were rising under her eyelids.
"Of course he doesn't love you. If either of you loves anything, it's your memories of each other, but not who you are now. You are wandering blindly like children in a fog, destroying everything around you." He said getting up from his chair and walked towards her, towering over her, folding his hands in front of him.
"If you tell me you still want to marry him, I will help you. I'd rather you be his wife than lead you and him into a scandal that could destroy your mother. Your betrothal has never been called off, the King will easily prove that no other plans for you can be in force against his decision. But if you decide not to, I will personally see to it that you never see him again and that no letter of yours leaves Dragonstone. Make a manly, mature decision with all its consequences, and stop wallowing over yourself."
She looked at him in disbelief, breathing loudly through her mouth, feeling that she was torn internally, that she herself had no idea what was right and what was wrong.
Daemon kept their conversation to himself, informing her mother only that there was no reason to worry about her possible premature motherhood.
This did not reassure Rhaenyra; she asked her how she could be so unreasonable, that they must stick together, that she must stand by her and her brothers' side when the time came.
Her words made her feel discomfort, fear and disappointment in herself again, she was no longer sure whether her mother would gain or lose through this marriage.
She felt guilty, she felt regret that even though she knew she should have been true to her mother, to her family, she had been unable to tear herself away from this now strange, frightening man.
She thought about this as she stood in the throne room, and although she should be thinking about what Otto Hightower was saying, that the fate of her brother's legacy was at stake, she could not focus on it.
"Fucking cunt." She heard Daemon mutter beside her and smiled involuntarily, knowing that he could never keep his frustrations to himself – he threw them out at once, keeping his inner peace that way.
"Just look at them. They're standing like they're waiting for a fucking beheading. Always so cheerful. Gods, give me patience." He sighed, and she chuckled involuntarily, thinking in her spirit that he was the only person besides Aemond when they were still children who could make her laugh.
Her smile disappeared from her face, however, when the King walked into the room – she felt a squeeze in her heart when she saw his agonised state, the way he moved step by step with great effort towards the throne, towards her mother.
His beloved child.
She glanced involuntarily at her uncle standing in the distance, and even though so many years had passed she could easily recognise the grief and disappointment painted on his stony face.
She knew that whatever he did he never felt noticed by him, appreciated by him, loved by him, so after their betrothal it was in her that he sought comfort and words of appreciation.
He cherished the time she would sneak up to his chamber at night; he would then snuggle up to her still flat chest hidden under her nightgown, listening to her heartbeat, telling her of his achievements, of the praise from the maester who had educated him or from Ser Criston.
She would then stroke his hair telling him that he was brave, courageous, wise, that nothing pleased her more than that he was reading and practising so much, that he would be a great warrior with great knowledge, that she felt proud that her husband would have so many talents.
She felt with every word she spoke how his hands clenched tighter and tighter on the material of her chemise, it even seemed to her sometimes that he was silently crying from happiness and sorrow, that he was drawing on her words as if they were the only source of cold water when his whole body was hot with disappointment and sadness.
She let him fall asleep in the embrace of her arms and her reassurances that she wanted only him, that he was a role model for her, that she wanted to be like him. She also read a lot, studied carefully and presented him with the results of her efforts in the form of a new embroidery or a short melody she had learned to play on the mandolin.
Although he did not understand her girlish world, he was able to tell if he liked or disliked something he saw or heard, always grinning proudly at her, saying that, indeed, his future wife was a woman of many talents.
Were they so happy as children because they had no idea of what was happening around them?
That they didn't know their family had long been divided into two factions, didn't notice the wall that had begun to rise between them?
She shuddered when his gaze turned to her, sharp and thirsty; she saw his lips part slightly and lowered her eyes quickly, feeling her heart pounding hard, trying not to think about how wonderful it felt to feel his tongue deep inside her, what delight he was able to give her just with his kisses between her thighs.
It seemed to her that everything that happened next, Vaemond's humiliating words and his head dropping to the floor after a sure cut from Daemon's sword was just a dream.
That in a moment her eyes would open and she would be back in her bed in Dragonstone.
During supper, Daemon had pushed back the chair next to himself for her, making it clear to her that she was not to try anything and not even go near her uncle. She sat there, staring dully into her plate, feeling discomfort and sadness at the thought that in a few hours they would be leaving the Red Keep.
That they would part again in anger.
They all raised their eyes to the Queen, who, after a short prayer, rose from her seat, holding her cup in her hand.
"I would like to raise my cup for Jace and Baela and Luke and Rhaena, hoping that their marriages will be prosperous and blessed. I would also like to raise my cup to my son, Aemond, who will soon marry one of Lord Baratheon's daughters." She said softly, forcing herself to sound warm and calm.
She felt a strong sting in her heart and discomfort in her stomach at her words, as if she were about to suddenly vomit, her throat tightening all over.
I would also like to raise my cup to my son, Aemond, who will soon marry one of Lord Baratheon's daughters.
Maybe it's for the best, she thought.
"I do not recall my brother's decision to marry Prince Aemond to my daughter ever being called into question." She heard clearly a familiar voice beside her and lifted her gaze to her stepfather in disbelief.
Good gods.
She looked quickly at her uncle feeling her heart pounding like crazy, his healthy eye wide open, fixed on her, his body as if frozen in shock.
She heard everyone around her twist nervously in their seats, looking at each other, her mother asked him quietly what he was doing, she heard the Queen laugh in disbelief.
"We've made a mutual decision that it's not worth stinging an old wound, haven't we, my love?" She directed her words to the King, clearly wanting him to confirm her words and end the subject once and for all, however her husband remained silent.
She watched, breathing hard through her mouth, feeling droplets of cold sweat on her bare shoulders as the King turned his gaze on his son – she was not sure what she saw in her uncle's healthy eye.
Regret, pleading, pain, agony.
"You have made it, Alicent. I never had a say in the matter. But the House of the Dragon will not remain strong unless it is finally united." He said in a hoarse, weak, determined voice, slamming his lean, blue fist on the table, several people popped up, looking at him in disbelief.
"I do not want my decisions to lead to another misfortune. I am allowing our children to decide." He muttered wearily, and she lowered her gaze, feeling her whole body tremble, heard Aegon's laughter, her mother's voice as she stood up saying that she had already promised her hand to someone else, in her mind only chaos, only despair, only emptiness.
She lifted her terrified gaze to her uncle − he was staring at her with clenched lips, as if all that he held inside was about to finally explode.
"Aemond." She heard his mother's pleading voice; he looked at her as if she had woken him from his lethargy.
She thought that, as always, he would not defy her.
He looked at her again, this time his gaze cool and distant.
She thought with pain that he had already made up his mind.
"My niece is disgusted with me, is she not? Tell us what you think of me, my Lady Strong." He said mockingly, as if he wanted to throw what was happening at her, to hear what he hoped she would say.
That she didn't want him.
She realised, however, that she had waited years to say to his face what was now pressing against her lips.
Against everything and everyone.
Against all that was right.
"My place is with you, uncle. It always has been."
She saw something change in his gaze − he froze in disbelief, his pupil dilated, his nostrils quivered in an anxious breath. She saw him swallow loudly as he grabbed the cup and lifted it to his lips, watching her intently as if to determine that she was lying.
He was silent for a long moment, like the rest of the table shocked by her confession and took another deep sip of wine from his cup before finally responding to her confession.
"So it is decided, father. We will marry."
She heard Jace's voice of defiance as he stood up from his seat saying he would never agree to this, she froze in horror as Aemond stood up too, looking at him with pity.
She was sure he wanted to say something about the night they had spent together to bring him out of balance.
"Sit down. Both of you. The only opinion that counts in this chamber is that of the King." Said Daemon, Rhaenyra rose from the table, furious, saying that they had completely lost their minds.
"I stand by my decision. We will finally end the schism that is destroying this family from within. The nuptials are to take place as soon as possible. Oh −" He sighed, clutching at his heart, his face contorted in pain, it seemed to her that he was about to fall apart before their eyes.
"My love? Guards, the King must rest!" The Queen called out, and after a moment the King was carried out to his chamber.
"How could you do this? Make a decision behind my back?" Her mother hissed to her husband, Daemon, however, did not look as if he was particularly concerned about her rage.
"I have stated the facts. The King can speak for himself. He doesn't need his Hand, wife or daughter to pronounce his will." He said impatiently; her mother pressed her lips together at his words, shaking her head, massaging her slightly rounded abdomen with a nervous gesture.
"We're returning to Dragonstone." She ordered in a low voice and moved towards her sons, wanting to let them know they were leaving.
She was the first to leave, feeling that she needed air, not giving her future husband even a single glance along the way, still unable to forgive him for his aggressive behavior the day before.
She shuddered as she heard the familiar, impatient footsteps behind her − she stopped in the corridor and turned to face him, staring at his silhouette in the torchlight.
Her uncle stood before her, all tense and flushed with wine; she saw him lick his lips and look away, himself no longer knowing what to make of what had happened.
It was all so unreal, so chaotic, so uncertain.
"Your mother will return to the Red Keep in a few days at my mother's request. To discuss our nuptials." He said dispassionately, as if he was just giving her some worthless, unimportant piece of information.
She nodded, wanting to move ahead, but his voice stopped her.
"She stole you away from me then, but I won't let it happen this time. You are to stay. You'll return to Dragonstone in a few days, with her." He growled out with a fury in his eye from which her throat tightened, a desperation in his voice that surprised her. She looked at him, pausing in her half-step, his eye wide open, his lips parted in an uneven breath.
She felt ashamed at the thought that, despite her pleas, her mother had not allowed her to speak with him then, when he lost his eye.
She lied that she would allow her to visit him later, but this did not happen until a few days afterwards, when the door to his chamber closed for her once and for all.
That's when she realised it.
On the worst, most difficult, most frightening night of his life, she had not been by his side.
Her arms didn't embrace his body, her lips didn't whisper that she still loved him, that she still wanted him, that she was proud that the rider of the largest dragon living in the world will become her husband, that his loss of an eye changed nothing.
She lowered her gaze at the memory of him and herself, of how their mothers separating them had led to a state where two people who loved each other so dearly had become complete strangers.
She lifted her eyes to him, thinking that perhaps if she behaved now as she should, she could make things right.
"I will stay, but only until my mother returns. Then I will travel back to Dragonstone with her and stay there until our nuptials." She said softly and heard him sigh, as if he was greatly relieved, as if he expected her to disappoint him again, to hurt him again.
"Yes. It will be appropriate." He muttered, swallowing loudly; she looked at him and noticed that his gaze was no longer so aggressive, his face softened slightly, as if she had given him exactly what he needed to calm down.
She informed her mother that she wished to remain still in the Red Keep under the care of her grandfather and the Queen, and to return with her to Dragonstone in a few days' time, when she would again appear in King's Landing.
"My heart belonged and will belong to him, mother. You yourself know that destiny cannot be cheated. You and Daemon are the best proof of that." She said quietly, not daring to look into her eyes after all that had happened.
She burst out crying as her mother hugged her, stroking her head like a small child, her familiar scent filling her lungs.
"My only daughter." She whispered and kissed her forehead, sighing heavily, smiling finally, as if accepting her decision, as if acknowledging that perhaps it would be better this way, still hoping in the back of her mind for some kind of reconciliation between her and the Queen.
"If anything happens, return at once, my love." She said calmly, and she nodded, sighing quietly, thinking that perhaps something good had in fact happened, that their marriage would strengthen what was falling to pieces.
Little did she know that she wouldn't see her mother for many months to come.

HOTD S2 Episode 8 leaks (updating)
Kingslanding:
Aemond burned down villages at Sharppoint out of rage and humiliation. He took life of common folk so he could feel strong again.
He tried to drag Helaena into war but get yelled by Alicent. He also thought it’s an insult that bastard could ride dragons. He tried to drive his sister into war not just for victory but also for “burning the sin”.
Aemond talked to Helaena on the balcony again.
Helaena said: “And if I refuse, will you burn me as you did Aegon?”
Aemond: That’s a lie.
Helaena: I saw it. You burned him and you let him fall.
Aemond: What you said is treason.
Helaena: Aegon will be King again. He’s yet to see victory. He will sit on the wooden throne. And you, you will be dead. You will be swallowed by the God’s eye and you will never be seen again.
Aemond: I could have you killed.
Helaena: That doesn’t change anything.
Helaegon nation arise!!! 🔥🔥🔥
——
Dragonstone:
Alicent tried to convince Helaena to leave and clearly she didn’t finally agree. Alicent went to Dragonstone to see Rhaenyra.
(The parallel of it ohhhh)
Alicent told Rhaenyra about Aemond and Cole’s plot and whereabouts. She promised when Rhaenyra come to Kingslanding, Helaena as Queen will surrender and open the city gate. She said she could talk Aegon into bending knees as well. But Rhaenyra insisted she need to have Aegon beheaded publicly.
Ulf keep stimulated Jace with his dark hair and said something like we are both dragonriders. He behaved badly on the dinner scene.
Jace was pretty upset same reason as the last episode. He thought dragon was the only thing that proved his worth. Baela told him a man’s worth has nothing to do with the dragon or title but should be decided by who he truly is. Jace said it’s hard because he was laughed at during his entire life.
Baela my girl!!! Slay and wise!!!💅💅💅
——
Harrenhal:
Rhaenyra and Aadam (seasmoke’s dargonrider) went to Harrenhal to see Daemon and the army he had in riverland.
Daemon kneeled and sworn loyalty to her. He began to realize the nation has to stand united under Rhaenyra so he abandoned his desire for the throne. Because he touched the weirwood tree and saw the future including Rhaenyra sitting on the throne, blood raven, white walker and Danny with three newly hatched dragons.
The sextual tension between these two is amazingly. Pray for the bed in Harrenhal tonight 🥵🥵

honestly it’s a bit annoying how people are bending themselves into a pretzel to justify this writing but are claiming that they’re somehow smarter for getting it like dude you can’t flipflop like if you think Alicent should be allowed to resent her child and get him beheaded cuz he was the result of marital rapr but somehow when it’s brought up of Alicent not the narrative acknowledges viserys being somebody that did that then it’s that oh Alicent is a character of that time so obviously she has buried that resentment deep inside but it’s the resentment conveniently reaches the surface when it’s time to press forward the rhaenicent ship.
I’m trying to be understanding but honestly what I’ve personally observed is that the only people that seem to love this are rhaenicent shippers and that’s it cuz how come oh all of this war was pointless and that’s the point all along but it’s like dude come on a character not acknowledging their grandchild was beheaded in their sleep is not an example of how well it shows the war is pointless cuz how is the mother of that beheaded child helping the man that got him murdered. How come the narrative doesn’t acknowledge that daemon did that and rhaenyra is still allowing that man back into her team like yeah let her do that but let the narrative acknowledge that she’s selfish for it and that she doesn’t truly care about what happened and what happened to helaena either.
I was willing to think people just have different interpretations and leave it at that before but the writing has become so blatantly biased that when people don’t even acknowledge that I genuinely feel like I’m being gaslit here like excuse me what
no, i totally get it and it is SO frustrating. bending themselves into a pretzel is such a good way of saying it. people love the IP and the asoiaf universe so much that they are willing to gaslit themselves that it's not bad.
but what's the point? it's bad execution after bad execution, a whole continuous string of them. you can't fundamentally change characters like that without making huge adjustments to the plot and to their fate as well - they won't naturally hit the same story beats! a character with show!alicent's personality would never do the things book!alicent did! a character with show!rhaenyra's personality is never going to do the things book!rhaenyra did!
they want to reconstruct these characters from the ground up, shove their dumbass life philosophies and first wave understanding of feminism in there, then NOT do any of the work that might allow them to depict an organic character arc. they still have to hit the same plot points, so ofc it's going to be circus-level flip-floping bc the motivations will not make sense if you change their core self so much.
this is especially evident with how the show REFUSES to admit viserys was a rapist. but at the same time implying so badly that alicent didn't want these children and is shackled by them. if she didn't want them, how did she manage to produce 4?? of them? who put those children into her body? if she didn't want them, then it was done against her will, no? can we examine that before we get to the point of gleefully handing them over to be executed bc you want to "be free"? no, ofc not, bc that would make viserys look bad 🙄 so how can you accept that supposed motivation of alicent's if it so half-baked? i hate it so much. and i hate it that people are going "fans are triggered by bad mother characters, but that's not feminist, women should be allowed to be villains and unpalatable on screen REEEEEE"
and another thing i find frustrating is this (mistaken IMO) attempt at a distinction between wanting explicit media vs media where things are left open to interpretation, and how hotd is supposedly the latter and we just don't understand that some people prefer having to fill in the gaps themselves. i don't want media with neon signs pointing if something is """"bad""""" or """""""good"""""". i am not asking for the booktokification of asoiaf!
no one in Succession is looking at the camera and saying "i am doing X thing bc of Y" and there are enough points where the show supports multiple interpretations, but the character work and attention to detail is stellar with similar amounts of screen time. i wish i could word this better but hotd does this annoying ass thing where it skips the fallout of important moments and then never addresses them, then pretends that's subtle character work instead of what it actually is: a lazy hack job.
i mean, honestly, i can't believe we ever complained about season 8 in the first place if these are the new standards. genuinely, i would encourage everyone to go back and re-watch those last episodes and make a bullet-point list about what's actually bad about them while trying to defend hotd s2 with the same arguments. because at least dany has a very clear, if rushed, progression there: she has a clear goal, an obstacle, suffers some losses she considers harrowing (an escalation), she is shown to be depressed and getting paranoid, there's a trigger point, she gives into violence and finishes off fanatical about her own self. where is the problem?
#hotd s2#ask#anon#disclaimer that my anger is directed at the show and not at the people trying to explain it to themselves#but i do think there is a little bit of wishful thinking here at play#which is normal i guess when it comes to a series you love#this has been such a fuckass experience though i have to say 😔

Imagine Alicent finally realizing what Otto did
Your hands were folded on your lap as you stared to the large doors of your throne room. Your butt sat upon a Throne which did not belong to you, but rather the niece of your husband, a girl who you basically raised with your sister once your mother, and her own passed. Her father to occupied with talks of succession and wars, and wild boar to notice the secret strings being pulled by your own father.
It was Daemon who told you of the raven sent by your sister, the widow of the king whom you had not spoken more than five words to since her wedding when you fled with Daemon and became his bride. While you spoke often with the other Targaryens, the Hightowers viewed you as the traitor of the family, a title given to you by your father, and believed without question by your sister, who was now in your home somewhere.
And just as the thought of the last conversation with her crossed your mind, the doors opened, and with a soft smile you saw your son, his hair shaggy like Jace’s and silver like his father’s. The gods had blessed you with your children all being alive and healthy, a smile slowly spreading as your eldest son looked to you, “Aunt Alicent has just arrived, she is alone, as she promised.”
“Not even Ser Criston is with her? Shocking, I thought she would have at least brought the man who has offered her pleasure all these years.”
“She must not feel she is in danger.” He spoke, his tone similar to his father’s as you chuckled, “She must not know your father then, as her recent decisions to disregard her late husband has sparked… danger for her.”
“Father will not harm her without your word.” He answered, “He may be rash but you know as well as I that he will never jeopardize his love for you.”
“Pār ziry iksos nykeā mittys.” (Then he is a fool). You stated as he looked to you but before he could defend the words of your father, your eyes caught sight of Green approaching.
“Henujagon īlva.” You instructed your son as he turned to the doors, but not before looking to his aunt and muttering, “Your highness.”
“You need not be so formal Rhovio.” Alicent spoke as he nodded, and proceeded to leave.
“I apologize for raising my children to respect the throne, and the members of royalty.” You replied as Alicent’s eyes slowly shifted to you.
“You never need to apologize to me sister. It is I who should be demanding your forgiveness.”
“Why?”
“Because I now see why father encouraged me to comfort Viserys. He did so to have his heirs take the iron throne, for he was a spider.”
“I warned you of that.” You replied
“And I didn’t listen, and because of that I seek your forgiveness.”
“Are you also to ask for Rhaenyra’s forgiveness? For not only have you stolen her throne but your son murdered hers, for those crimes sister demand your apologies far more than your inability to listen to your kin.” You snapped, your body slowly raising as you started down the steps towards her, “For when word came of your visit, my husband wanted to behead you, yet I told him you deserved a chance to right your wrongs and bend the knee to her, but I see now your too far gone into Father’s desires to rule the seven kingdoms to admit when you are wrong.”
“What happened to you?” Alicent whispered as your smile grew and a laugh left your mouth, “I saw through Father’s plan, that’s what. Now unless you are apologizing for your treason, I suggest you go back to King’s Landing, before I ride there upon my dragon and take the rightful throne of Rhaenyra myself.”
“My darling sister…” she whispered again, however you looked to her again, cutting her off, “Alicent.”
Her eyes watered, as your hand went to her face, her cheek cradled in your palm as her eyes closed, a single tear straying down her cheek as you wiped it with your thumb. Silence growing heavy as you looked upon the youngest Hightower in pity, and with longing, as you wished nothing more than to save her from your father. Finally though you were forced to break the silence, “Go sister. Be wise, and do not let the men of your court fool you anymore than they already have.”
—————
As she sailed away, you watched from the balcony, your eyes straining as you watched her ship slowly disappear into the horizon.
“Nyke ūndegon se dāria emagon geptot.” (I see the queen has left.) his voice low as his hand went to the small of your back, a shiver crawling up your spine as you whispered, “Ziry gōntan daor obūljagon.” (She did not bend the knee.”
“Ziry dōrī jāhor, ziry iksos stubborn raqagon zȳhon mandia, se blinded ondoso aōha kepa” (She never will, she is stubborn like her sister, and blinded by your father)
“Ziry eptan forgiveness.” (She asked forgiveness.) you whispered, before looking to him, “ Ziry ūndan otto syt se ēlī jēda se ñuhoso nyke gaomagon” (She saw Otto for the first time the way I do)
“Ao nūmāzma hae se power merbugon orvorta bona ziry iksos?” (You mean as the power hungry cunt that he is?) Daemon asked as you looked back to the sea
“Daor, ziry ūndan skorkydoso pathetic ziry iksos… se realized ziry iksos keskydoso.” (No, she saw how pathetic he is… and realized she is the same)

It's been a long time since I've really ranted about something on here but like.
HOTD is just… On another level of bad? At some point this season, I got so tired of getting angry with the writing I just straight up started laughing at almost every single scene. I managed to find a sliver of enjoyment in the shitshow what S2 turned out to be. Not anymore.
Small costest backstage at the end because I felt like looking at myself smiling after writing all this down lol
Having seen some and read about some E8 leaks I'm just… I guess I'm checking out. What they've done to the Greens and specifically Aemond this season is Merlin's 'Morgana suddenly full evil' level of shit writing. And I can't handle yet another favorite nuanced character of mine being stripped of any nuance by the shit writers. But at least with Morgana there was a lot of her, and with Aemond it's 2 minutes of peak character assassination per episode and it isn't cutting it.
I feel so bad for Ewan and the rest of the Green actors who gave it their all - and in some scenes you can clearly see Ewan giving his all trying to fight the shitty writing, but there's only so much an actor can do with a script so bad.
Like when in ep. 5 everyone kept referring to Aemond as if he's suddenly Satan incarnate (Alicent, Daemon ahhh pretty sure there was someone else this episode ‘cause I remember three characters) I knew they decided to flip the switch with Aemond suddenly going full caricature villain (and yeah he was no saint BUT LIKE BBQ-ING HIS BRO?) with no proper buildup for it but HOLY SHIT I didn’t think it would be ‘blink and he’s full on sociopathic villain’. And the way they really did try and hammer that point home with him yanking Helaena now is just… Fucking wild. But like, he wasn’t wrong with dismissing Alicent who turned out to be the biggest traitor on TG this season (RIP S1 Alicent). He’s not wrong in saying they need Dreamfyre. But the show sure did go about him technically not being wrong yet showing it in the worst way possible very... head-on and with lacking any nuance. It truly feels like Condal & Co just couldn’t handle how popular Aemond became in S1 and gave him as little screen time as possible while simultaneously trying to make him as unsympathetic and suddenly 180 as possible. Which just doesn’t work without the proper buildup if you stop to think for even one second.
Then we’ve got Alicent who drilled it into her sons’ heads they’ll be dead unless they fight Rhae and now she’s also 180 and doesn’t understand why they want to fight and turns out to be the biggest traitor basically surrendering her children, the city and her brother to the woman whose husband killed her grandchild. The fuck did S1 Alicent go? Can we see her? Is she in the room with us? You know, the one jumping Rhae with the knife for Aemond? By all means, she and Aemond should have had a dynamic akin to Cersei and Joffrey’s if they were dead-set on making Aemond pretty much THE (only) villain in the show (which should have been about everyone being a criminal lmao). But like… We came to THIS? THE FUCK. THE FUUUUCK. Like imagine for one second Cersei pretty much throwing her kids to their enemies. This is. I don’t know which level of bad writing is this. We’re so far past the rock bottom at this point, the bottom doesn’t exist, the depths this season has reached don’t even have a proper name.
Then we’ve got Helaena. All season I’ve been waiting to see more of her. All season. And I waited. And waited. Her being the Dreamer sounded cool on paper. And they just ended up using her as a device to show ‘Aemond bad’ again? And HELP DAEMON? And like... to spoil the end of the story for those unfamiliar? THE FUUUUUUUUUUUCK. THE FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK.
Like damn, I knew they were baiting us with the promo and I knew it would be OOC for her to want to fight but at the same time I was kinda hoping at least she’d want to? Like she’s sane in the show. Her son was beheaded in front of her eyes. I kept hoping this show would have at least ONE female character actually willing to fight, but no. The balcony scene was good. But in spite, not thanks to what the writers clearly meant for this scene to be. Phia and Ewan really did give this scene their all and try to add nuance where they just once again tried to write Aemond off as a dick.
I haven’t seen the Aegon scene but apparently, they tried to make him look dumb again? And since there’s no rush to vacate KL in the show, why the hell didn’t he try to at least take his daughter with him? Like we get it, show, you hate the Greens and therefore all the Greens hate each other apparently (not buying it no matter how much you’re selling it tho), so him not bothering with Helaena is like okaaaay suuuure (not), but HIS KID? He was the hightlight of the first part of this season, and now we're... back at it again. Yay.
Also tbh I hated Daemyra as a concept in S1 as a ship but I LOVED their dynamic if it makes sense. It was truly interesting and both characters really shone in their shared scenes, so when Rhae’s arc this season started to feel like Groundhog Day I really missed Daemyra since at least their push and pull with Daemon made her feel more alive and interesting idk. But like. Their reunion scene looks like a grand meh? Daemon looks like he cares. Rhae came off to me like she doesn’t give a single fuck about him. Rhae in general was one of my fave characters in S1 and now it’s just. Huh? Them trying to saintify her absolutely ruined the character for me, she’s just so bland now which with her amount of screen time just… Doesn’t make for a very compelling show.
So. Yep. Those are my thoughts and feelings. tbh I don’t even know when I became so attached to the Greens. Like maybe it was in spite of the show trying to ruin and ignore them. Sort of like when you start rooting for the underdogs. But now I just feel really hollow and drained and sad for the actors. On both teams tbh, ‘cause like… What even is the point of this show anymore? There’s no war. Aemond is the only one who’s willing to wage it and the show villainizes him for it. Even in ep. 8 Rhae still says she doesn’t wanna fight the war. What did we spend 8 episodes, then, on aside from some character assassinations?
What’s the point if you don’t really feel anything towards most of the characters? Not even anger or apathy? ‘Cause like, I couldn’t care less when Rhaenys died. I’m sure when Jace kicks the bucket it would be the same. If the characters themselves can’t be bothered (where’s the aftermath for Blood and Cheese ffs?), why and HOW the hell should the viewers care? I’m sure they’ll find a way to make even Helaena’s death as meaningless as possible with giving her zero agenda in the matter.
I truly don’t think I’ll be watching S3. I don’t think I have it in me to witness how they screw up the Greens even more than they already did. It’s not even fun anymore how dumb the show is, it’s just draining. Motivations and relationships changing 180 between episodes or even during them (sometimes even during scenes), major events not phasing anyone and having no consequences. Characters the show chose as THE main characters living in Groundhog Day with nothing to do. We’re supposed to just believe the characters are suddenly completely different than they were weeks/months ago in show’s time just because the show says so. HOW ABOUT NO?
I’m only holding out hope for Daeron but at this point? I’m sure he’ll have a total o 1-2 minutes of screen time each episode as well and they’ll ruin him somehow, too. Still funny though how him and Aemond are both 16 which I’m sure is just another writing plot hole but on the off chance it isn’t… The only cool and redeemable thing the show can do at this point in my eyes is make Daeron and Aemond twins. You know, at the very least to give Ewan the screen time he deserves AND give him some better material to work with. But ah well.
At this point I’m choosing to more or less ignore everything that’s happened in S2, ‘cause the sure itself sure as hell ignored 2/3 of it, so why can’t I. Honestly, I want to do a full Helaena and Aemond cosplay, not a costest, if not for any other reason than to freaking forget S2 ever happend and maybe do some scenes which should have been in it, shippery or not. tbh I wasn't even shipping Helaemond until I saw Ewan and Phia's interviews about them and I was SO HYPED. And Tom's interviews. I was so hyped for siblings interecting in general and I feel like both the actors and the audience were done dirty in the worst way possible.
Also also the last thing I want to say is that it's super sad to see viewers turning on Aemond because it's so clear that's what the show wants everyone to do and neither Aemond nor Ewan deserve it. That's very telling of how badly he's written this season, he's not a villain you love to hate, he's just there for people to hate him. I hope at least Ewan doesn't get hate for his character, but we all know some people are braindead enough to project characters onto actors, so... :(
ALSO ALSO ALSO I don't really feel like fighting over this show because I don't think it deserves any more of my nerve cells, so should anyone decide to come at me for this post don't bother, I'll just reply with print screening this part. But it's kinda funny how tumblr seemed to have an actual war over this show when the show straight up refused to commit to anything.
To everyone who has read thus far – here, have some cute backstages from our costest. I’m sure we could all use a hug and a laugh. I know I could.

Random Thought: Aemond Targaryen
Yandere!Aemond
He was a completely obsessed man.
He had been obsessed with you since you were children. You were only slightly younger than him, the only one of Rhaenyra’s children who had white hair and purple eyes, a result of an affair on both Rhaenyra and Daemons part resulting in a girl about 2 years younger than Jace.
You were the only child that people believed was Laenors and you were treated much better for it by everyone, especially the queen.
Once you were born Aemond was about 2 years old and thought you were precious. He constantly begged your sister to hold you and would scream his head off whenever he wasn’t allowed to be with you. You were both dragonless as kids so you had lessons together and were always left out of your brothers and uncles fun and you were always there to comfort your uncle Aemond when his brother and yours went too far in their teasing.
After the night he lost his eye you were taken from him. You had defended him, knowing that you can’t steal a Dragon and if Rhaena wanted her mothers dragon she should have claimed her immediately. Defending Aemond however had lost you the care of all of your family, your brothers and cousins hating you, and your mother resenting you. Daemon was the only one who was still kind to you. About a year after it happened you claimed your own dragon, spending most of your time with Grey Ghost to stay away from your family.
When your family returned to the Red Keep to fight for Luke’s birthright and you were finally able to see your best friend again and he had changed a lot. Aemond had decided as soon as he found out that you were coming, that you would never be leaving him again. You had grown quite a bit, into a beautiful, elegant lady and he had a hard time taking his eye off of you when you came to the courtyard with your brothers. You had left with them but gone off by yourself to find your dragon, never having explored the sky’s here since mounting the small, shy dragon and you thought it would be a great chance. What you did not expect was Vhagar nearly scaring your dragon to death.
You two spent the next several hours getting to know each other again, you felt as if no time had gone by and Aemond felt a kind of love and possessiveness he had never experienced in his life.
That night at dinner you two left together after the fight and when Aemond walked you back to your room, he followed you inside, telling you that he wanted to make the most of your time together. That night he convinced you to marry him, a dream you two had had as children which always felt more like a fantasy than an actual possibility but he assured you he could convince both of your families to allow it. He fucked you 8 times that night, continuing to do so after you had collapsed, unable to stay awake any longer, he didn’t stop until he was sure you would bear him a child and he let that be how you two were found the next morning.
The wedding was insanely quick after that morning, you two getting married the next night in the ways of old Valeria, your mother refusing to attend and leaving the next morning with your brothers and father who was the only one to continue speaking with you.
Your life in the Red Keep was never lonely like it had been at Dragonstone, you were with Aemond all day, every day, he never let you out of his sight.
He was possessive, touchy and rude to everyone who so much as looked at you. He had already beheaded 2 of the guards, one for catching you when you tripped, putting his hand on you in a way Aemond deemed inappropriate, and one for looking at you for too long.
You found out 3 weeks after the wedding that you were with child and he became so much worse. He refused to let you go flying anymore without him present or so much as bathe without him there, insisting that you could fall getting in or out of the tub.
You love Aemond very much and you always have, that will never change but no one can deny he smothers you to no end.

I want to know why the writers have beef with Daemon , I get it Sara you hate him doesn’t mean you change his character to make him hate able , writers/show runners should deal with characters with neutrality .
George they are ruining your fave character, do something !?
He is a grey character not blackkkkk!!!!!!!
The show keeps on and on reminding daemon about the succession when it has been years since we had this conflict and honestly it should be solved by now , yes daemon wanted the throne or still wants it but he loves Rhaenyra and loves Viserys more than the throne and won’t do anything to harm them, he placed the crown on rhaenyra’s head and bent the knee calling her my queen , he raised an army for Viserys to secure his succession to the throne and it worked , after all this peopel are still like omg he’s gonna steal the throne , trust me if he truly wanted , he could ,an accident can be easily arranged .
I miss “keep my wife’s name out of your fucking mouth” daemon , when he more than ready beheaded vaemond after rhaenyra gave him the cue or when he looked at her for approval to hurt Otto , where’s that daemon ??
As much as Rhaneys’s line “ if only you were king” when he commanded her to fly with him was “cool” , well reminder to fans and writers HE IS KING , he is technically above rhaenys and can give her commands as rhaenys is only a princess , he is the queen’s husband which makes him KING consort or just King as when alicent married viserys people call her queen not queen consort.
Him wanting to be called “ your grace” which is his rightful title as it also pledges that rhaenyra is Queen is 100% okay , him also being called “my king” is right , it his title what do you call the man married to the queen ?!! people called alicent my queen as she is the kings wife !.
Final note / someone keep Alyssa and Baelon Targaryen away from the writers ! They turned Alyssa into a son fucker ( and changed the way she looks ) and baelon into a cheater!

gods your answers are just beautiful, beautiful. thank you for taking the time to write them! i absolutely agree with what you have to say; i think Aemond's love would be real and passionate in his own way, and that's beautiful, honestly. i can't let go of the thought that, because he yearns for love, he would love quite deeply too.
also;
If it was a person who he deems as invaluable, he'd be like Daemon ready to behead any man who questions her.
hello?? that is the best thought omg 😭💘i adore it
so all in all, despite his "love is weakness" view in some sense, he would be willing to have and feel that kind of love, yes?
Hahaha thank you, that's very sweet!
I think being willing is an entirely different story because with his background, he'd be quite resistant to anything that might soften him up, but that's because love is truly scary. It is ultimately a weakness, and that goes for anyone who's either been heartbroken or can see what it does to people.
To be willing to be in love is to be willing to be hurt, to be willing to be vulnerable and expose yourself, and to be willing to feel the most unimaginable pain should you lose it. Aemond, first and foremost, wouldn't be willing in the beginning, but I don't think that should keep you from thinking about how he would love. The thought of loving someone so deeply and exposing the deepest, darkest, and most innocent parts of himself would be the most terrifying thing in the world. He'd feel the inner turmoil and torture of "what ifs." But as the logical part sets in again (as my therapist said - "logic is the only thing that can pull you back from anxiety and irrational thoughts" and love most certainly can be irrational and make you feel like everything logical is crumbling around you), he would know that this person makes him stronger, not weaker. That's a battle only he can fight.
I think he'd be willing to fight for it and willing to keep it.
But also there's also the concept of "I can live without her, but it would be a torturous existence. If I am to suffer from an emotion as ridiculous as love, let me suffer by her side."
Again.... Shameless quote from my fic (this one is Aemond)...
"I have spent many days in agony in your absence while you deprive me of your touch, and I have chosen to suffer no longer. Perhaps you should do the same. Deny me, and you will only know agony. Accept me—claim me as I you and we shall shoulder this affliction together.”

Spoilerrrrsssss Alert!🚨

So this thing with Daemon being a dreamer and the circulating theories of him becoming immortal after the battle of the God’s Eye, or him becoming a greenseer. I do not care. But I am concerned.
I mean, I was happy that he saw all that. I haven’t seen it but I think it will be quite an epic vision. But I don’t want him to become a dreamer per se. I wanted him to believe in the prophecy, yes. I wanted him to be more open minded to the fantastic world that is Westeros. But I don’t want him to become like Bran, you know? This stoic person that doesn’t really feel anything because he already knows how everything will happen and that he should not interfere because the things that have to pass will pass as it’s written. Heleana is this character. She wasn’t that sad about Jaehaerys’ death because she accepted that it was meant to happen. Daemon is not like that. We love Daemon because he is this unpredictable beast who feels as deeply as he rages. I don’t want his essence to ever change, I wanted his edges polished for the sake of his loved ones. But I want to see Daemon’s rage when Viserys and Aegon are captured. I want him to burn everything in his pain. I want Daemon being Daemon, like he was in season 1 episode 6, 7 and 8, when he was already older, calmer and softer, yet still capable to behead Vaemond in the blink of an eye. I think that’s my favorite version of Daemon (although I also love his younger years). I also don’t want him to go after Aemond in the God’s Eye because he knows that’s how it’s supposed to play out, knowing Rhaenyra will die later in such a horrible way but accepting it. It takes away from his sacrifice. I loved that in the book he goes to face Aemond to protect Rhaenyra, because Aemond is the last real threat to her (supposedly). I don’t want him to know that it’s not but going there anyway because it was foretold. Nop, I don’t like it. 🙂↔️
I also don’t like if he becomes immortal. Although I adore him, I want him to die there. 🫣
Now that I’ve heard about the whole picture, I feel slightly disappointed. Did Daemon really just accepted Rhaenyra because he saw it in the vision that she was meant to be queen? Or did Alys show him the vision because she knew he was ready to do the right thing? I do like that all this time Alys has been training him for that. I do enjoy that in a very weird way. Like she saw potential in him to be a good person but she had a lot of work to do before he got to that point. Hmm that I like. 🤔😌
Another odd thing. Last episode Oscar Tully made it abundantly clear that the army was for Rhaenyra and to Daemon as her representative. But in the leaked scene it seems the army would turn against Rhaenyra if Daemon said so because they were fiercely loyal to him. When did that happen? How did it happen? Am I the only one that got surprised? 🤔🤨
And finally … yes yes I know we cannot be greedy with how the season has been. But! I wanted a private scene with Daemon and Rhaenyra after the army scene. I wanted intimacy! To make up for lost time. I don’t want him to be best buddies or old colleagues, as Emma pointed out, I want them to be lovers! Passionate lovers! I want to erase the memory of Rhaenyra’s kiss with Mysaria and of Daemon’s scene with Alyssa. Because they are the main couple, yet we saw them with other people and we don’t see them having loving scenes together. Couldn’t they give us that?? I think not and we should be happy we got that “bend the knee” scene. But, as a fan of season 1, I needed to see passion. I needed to see how much they missed each other. 🤓😳
And now I’ll have to wait 2 years. Not knowing what evil schemes the writers will prepare for season 3. 😬

people are talking about how oscar tully forcefully put daemon in his place but i saw it a little differently. i saw daemon pushing oscar to the challenge and encouraging him (by holding his tongue and being in agreement) in an effort to show his support of the new lord as he asserted his role.
in episode 3, daemon said, "people should obey their liege lord, whatever his condition." that was in reference to grover tully but i believe also his brother viserys and now, oscar. daemon is often portrayed in the show as impulsive and quick to anger. to visibly see his irritation and him not act on it but instead, humor oscar, in my opinion shows he was in control of the situation and allowed it to play out the way it did. (although the show insinuates the beheading was not something he foresaw.) this both allowed for oscar's position as lord to be cemented and to allow the uniting of the riverlords which daemon desperately needed. i also wouldn't be surprised if oscar put him in mind of his own children, specifically luke (because of their size and appearance) which added to his willingness to take whatever jabs he gave in stride.

House of the Dragon Episode 7 and 8 Spoilers
This is a Throwaway account. I cannot say too much about myself as I don't want to get into trouble. Let's just say I got to see a special screening of House of the Dragon and I wanted to post what I know. This is what I saw.
Episode 7: Opens with Rhaenyra upset with Addam after she sees he has claimed Seasmoke. Addam tells her he is not Targaryen. They then fly to Dragonstone. In King's Landing we get a scene of Alicent crying to Larys. She is at braeking point. There is then a small council meeting where Aemond learns that Daeron is now riding Tessarion. This is clearly paving the way for him to appear in Season 3. Return to Dragonstone where Rhaenyra is speaking with Mysaria. They discuss how to get more Dragonriders. They kiss again and it turns in to a sex scene. Cut to Harrenhal and Daemon has two more visions. In the first one he sees himself on the throne. This Daemon seems evil and Daemon argues with him. Evil Daemon tries to kill Daemon. In his next vision Viserys offers Daemon the crown however younger Rhaenyra appears. Daemon gives it to her. Daemon wakes and finds out Ser Alfred has arrived. Daemon is annoyed as he thinks Rhaenyra does not trust him. The young boy Oscar Tully also arrives. Daemon and Oscar speak to the Riverlords. It is agreed that someone needs to die as payment for what happened to the Riverlands. In Dragonstone Rhaenyra and Mysaria are shown in bed. They come up with a plan for Elinda to hang up posters in King's Landing calling any smallfolk to claim a dragon. Rhaenyra and Mysaria have sex again. Short scene of Alicent wandering in some sort of forest. In Kingslanding smallfolk see the posters and a group are brought by Mysaria's spies to Dragonstone. Aemond visits Aegon's beside and seems to drop some poision into his cup. However Larys spots this as he is nearby. He waits till Aemond is gone. He saves Aegon before he can drink the poison and tells him he needs to stay alive. In Harrenhal Daemon kisses Willem Blackwood lovingly then beheads for the terrible deeds he did. Daemon cried afterwards. But this earns him the trust of the riverlords. Not clear where but Corlys goes to see Alyn near a boat. He suggests to Alyn that he should becomce his heir. Alyn agrees. In Dragonstone, Jace sees smallfolk arriving to claim the dragons and gets very upset because he thinks only Targaryens should claim dragons. Him and Rhaenyra have a big fight. In the Vale Rhaena is leaving on a boat with the children but leaves to see Sheepstealer for the first time. It looks like she is trying to try to claim him but we don't see it. In Dragonstone Rhaenyra brings out Vermithor. Smallfolk try to claim but many die. Hugh succeeds. Silverwing appears and Ulf feeds him some ale and he is cliamed. Cut to the Twins and we see Cregan with House Stark marching for Jace. We then see Daemon's growing army in Harrenhal. Daemon tells Alys that he plans to leave the next day however Alys becomes upset. She tries to kiss him but he rejects her. Alys leaves in a rage. In Kings Landing we see Aemond riding out to meet with the Lannisters. There is a strange scene with Alicent where she looks all depressed. She tries to kill herself however is she is saved by Criston Cole. Cole apologises to her for not being there for her and tells her he always loved her. In Dragonstone Jace and Corlys are annoyed about the new dragonseeds but say little. Episode ends with Rhaenyra walking out of the dragonpit with Vermithor behind her.
Episode 8: Opens with Aemond in King's Landing. He has found out about Daemon's big army and the Starks and he is angry. He is now considering attacking Harrenhal with Vhagar however Cole advises not to. In Dragonstone Ser Alfred arrives. He tells Rhaenyra that Daemon has raised an army but is still not sure of Daemon's loyalties. Rhaenrya then decides she must confront Daemon. We see her leave Dragonstone with Syrax. In King's Landing Alicent talks to Aegon. She tells him she loves him and that she knows Aemond tried to kill him. Aegon is angry and vows to get back at Aemond. Cut to the Vale and Jeyne is looking for Rhaena. Rhaena then appears on Sheepstealer. The boats are waiting but Rhaena tells Jeyne she is going back to Dragonstone to fight in the war. In Harrenhal Rhaenyra arrives and sees Daemon. It is a very political meeting. Rhaenyra tells Daemon she missed him but their marriage is clearly over. Daemon kisses Rhaenyra but Rhaenyra is unresponsive. She is happy though that Daemon has raised her army and she tells Daemon she now trusts him. Daemon decides he will remain in Harrenhal to raise more support but he will send the armies when Rhaenya is ready to attack King's Landing. Near Kings Landing we see Aemond meeting the leader of the Triarchy. They have found out that Rhaenyra's children are leaving the Vale for Pentos and are going to attack the ship. Aemond then sits on the Iron Throne afterwards. Helena appears and he kisses her and tries to sleep with her. He tells her she could be his queen. Alicent sees him and runs from the throne room. In Dragonstone Rhaenyra arrives and gives Baela a gift from Dameon. It is dark sister and Baela is pleased. She kisses Jace and tells him she loves him. Rhaenya tells Mysaria she never loved Daemon but that she loves Mysaria. She is now happy to be free of Daeomon. It is very emotional. They sleep together. We see Alicnet taking a boat to Dragonstone. Rhaenyra and Mysaria lying in bed when Alicent arrives. Rhaenyra speaks to Alicent. Alicent cries saying she will give up Aemond if it means Aegon and Helena will be spared. Rheanyra almost relents but tells Alicent it is too late. They hug and kiss and Alicent leaves. In Harrenhal Daemon slaps Simon Strong and tells him he now belongs to him. It is revealed Daemon has killed Oscar Tully and became the new Tully lord. Alys is still hurt from his rejection but hides it. Daemon ignores Caraxes. In Dragonstone Rheanyra has a feast for the new dragon riders. Jace annocnes he will marry Baela and Rheanyra is annoyed. Jace is planning to usurp Rhaenyra and discusses this with Baela. Rhaenya and Mysaria hold hands for the war they may have to fight against Jace. Rhaena arrives on Dragonstone and Baela is happy to see her sister has a dragon. Ulf feeds some ale to Silverwing and he dances next to his dragon. The episode ends in Oldtown where Otto is walking into a room and a big blue dragon appears. From behind him comes out Daeron the Daring. He is played a new actor. The dragon roars behind him. End of episode.
