I love you 12.16 of supernatural, love how this whole dynamic ep is to show dean taking care of claire, like she goes for the beer and he is like "nope, no" she's in a bad shape and he immediately holds her hand to show affection & like "don't worry, im here" gets down on one knee to talk to her, defends her like no one else and to top it all off "whatever you decide, we're here for you" it's not the first time he says that, I seriously am going through it, I love him so so so much :(

"Hey, Dad. I want to talk to you about something."

Dean turns to the kitchen entrance and smiles at his daughter, "Sure, sweetheart. What's on your mind?"

YN crosses the kitchen over to Dean and sits across from him at the table. As she sits, Dean notices her shaking frame and the nervous look in her eyes. YN keeps her head down, looking at the table and playing with her hands.

"YN, you okay?" asked Dean. YN looks up at Dean, but avoided his eyes. 

Dean's eyes are more sympathetic the more he worries about his daughter. "Sweetheart, you know you can tell me anything. I know there's something bothering you. Just tell me, it's okay."

YN took a deep breath and sighed, "So, I've been in college for 3 years now right?" Dean nods as YN continues, "And you know how I've been a History major for those 3 years?" Dean nods slowly as he squints his eyes at his daughter. "Well, you see. It's not that I don't like History. No, that not what I mean. Um, okay sometimes people grow...no that's not it. Look, Dad, I-"

The front door slams shut as footsteps could be heard coming near Dean and YN.

Just as YN looks up at Dean, Sam walks through the kitchen door with bags in his hands. "Hey, I'm back from the store. I thought I'd make dinner." Sam notices YN and Dean staring at him. He smiles at YN, "Oh are you finally telling him you changed your major?"

YN gasped, wide eyed in panic as she turned back to Dean. Dean's eyes were in shock, and he was obviously mad.

"You changed your major?!"

"Dad-"

"When did this happen?"

"Dad, listen-"

"Did you even think about talking to me about it?

"I talked to Sam the day I did-"

"Oh, so now Sam gets to know everything that happens in your life?!"

"Dad, please-"

"Stop it, both of you!" Sam yelled over YN and Dean. They looked at him, YN with fear and Dean with anger. "Dean for once in your life just shut up and listen to what she has to say. YN, I'm sorry I assumed you had already mentioned it."

"It's okay, Sammy. I was actually having trouble finding the words to say. I guess just being abrupt helps."

"Speak for yourself," Dean says as he stands from his seat and makes his way out of the kitchen.

YN looks up at Sam, tears forming in her eyes. Sam walks over and bends down to hug her. She hugs back and lets out a sob. "Shh, it's okay. It's okay. Relax, it's not the end of the world. I know you know what that actually feels like."

YN let out a small chuckle, "You're right Sammy."

Sam pushed her back to look in her eyes, "Go talk to him. Explain everything. Be calm, and if you need me just yell." YN nodded, stood from her seat, and left the kitchen. --------------------- YN walked up to Dean's bedroom door. She raised her hand to knock, but hesitated for a moment. She sighed, speaking to herself, "You can do this. Sammy took the news better, but this is your dad. He can be understanding...sometimes. Just take a deep breath, and knock." She did just that.

There was no noise from inside after she knocked. So she knocked again. Still nothing. She knocked a third time when the door swung open revealing a very pissed off Dean.

"What do you want now? Come to tell me you dropped out of college all together?"

"Dad, please. Just let me explain."

Dean ignored his daughter and walked back into his room. YN walked inside, shutting the door behind her.

"Dad, there's a reasonable explanation for this I promise."

Dean sat on his bed, facing the wall, and crossed his arms, "Yeah, I bet."

YN sighed again, feeling the tears coming back. She walked over to Dean's bed and sat down next to him, "I'm sorry. You're right, I should've told you as soon as the thought crossed my mind. But I was scared. I didn't know what was going on. I thought I was going through a slump. Turns out, I just didn't get to explore as much as I thought in college."

Dean closed his eyes, "I'm not mad at you, YN."

"What?"

Dean turned to YN and sighed, "I'm not mad. I'm just...I don't know, I guess I just feel left out. I know you and Sam are close, especially because he can help you with college stuff. He went to college, I didn't. I have know idea what either of you are talking about half the time. I guess I...I just don't want to miss anything in your life. You're my daughter, my only daughter. I want to know about the big decisions in your life."

Tears fell from YN's eyes, "Dad, I had no idea you felt like that. Why didn't you tell me?"

Dean chuckled, "I should be asking you that, kiddo."

"Well, I didn't change majors exactly. I just added one, so I'm a double major now. I'm almost finished with one degree, but I found a passion for something different, so I just added it."

"Yeah, you lost me after 'Well'."

YN giggled, "Okay, I've been a History major for 3 years, yeah?" Dean nods as she continues, "But 2 months ago, I found something I love so much more. So I decided to try it for myself, and I fell in love with it. Yeah, I like History but I don't think it's my calling. I'm not changing to something completely different, I'm just adding something new."

"Oh, okay. That makes sense. I think," Dean looked towards the wall again, "So does this mean you won't graduate next year?"

YN shook her head, "No, I'll graduate the year after. I'm only set back one year. And now I'm getting scholarships for both majors instead of the one, so now I don't need to take out anymore loans."

"I'm okay with that." Dean smiled at his daughter. "I'm sorry for getting mad."

"I'm sorry for not discussing it with you before just jumping to it. I promise, next time a big decision like this happens, you'll be the first to know."

Dean leaned over and hugged YN, and she hugged him back. "I love you, YN"

"I love you, too, Dad."

Dean pulled back to look at his daughter, "So, what major did you add anyway?" "Drama. I really think I want to be a costume designer."

Dean sighed and shook his head, "Wow, that was so not what I expected to come out of your mouth. Maybe you can make Sam and I a few disguises."

"It would be my pleasure. You two can finally look like proper FBI agents, instead of just two weirdos in suits."

"Hey now, I rock that suit and you know it."

YN rolled her eyes, "Mhmm, totally, you old fart."

"Excuse me, young lady? Does somebody need a visit from the Tickle Monster?" Dean had a grin on his face as his raised his arms towards YN. "Don't think I forgot you're still ticklish."

YN's eyes were wide in fear, "You wouldn't dare."

Dean laughed, "Oh, I totally would dare."

Day Fourteen - Silent Night

Dean and Castiel can’t get their newborn baby to sleep. Ever. It’s like the baby was created to stay awake for the rest of their lives, keeping them from getting any rest. Their sanity is quickly evaporating. 

That’s when Dean gets an idea. Mary used to drive in the car with him and Sammy at night during winter. She’d just weave around the town for hours as they looked at all the Christmas lights and decorations. As she drove, she would sing Christmas songs. Dean’s favorite was always ‘Silent Night’. His mom’s voice was just so pure and beautiful. 

So, Dean and Castiel find themselves in the car in the middle of the night. Their brand new baby is all bundled up in the car seat, chubby cheeks sticking out between a knitted hat and a pile of blankets. For hours, they hold hands over the center console and drive around. Sometimes they play Christmas music on the radio. Other times, they sing on their own. Dean is much better at singing than Castiel, but the baby loves them both equally. 

Around three in the morning, Dean sings Silent Night. Castiel is already asleep in the passenger seat with his head resting against the cool window. The baby has been cooing for the past half hour, and the sounds have begun to fade. By the second round of singing the song, the baby’s noises stop too. Dean knows he should go home. Take them inside. Try to get some rest himself. He can’t, though. There’s a magic in the impala tonight. A Christmas magic that he doesn’t believe in, yet still feels in this moment. He’s happy. His family is happy. Everything he wished for as a child, riding in the backseat of his mom’s car while staring wide eyed at the lights, he now has. It’s a silent night. A perfect night.

*THE* mean-girl-dean-girl's Supernatural reboot MEGAPOST!

I'm gonna stick a little "keeping reading" here because hoooooo boy, this is a very long post.

Let's start with

Plot

Season 1

Dean kills John while they are out on a hunt in a crime of passion, but Dean doesn't remember because he blacked out. Cue Dean going to Stanford to get Sam and tell him "Dad's on a hunting trip... and he hasn't been home in a couple days."

The audience doesn't know what happened to John, but slowly figures it out with Dean and Sam as Dean slowly remembers what happened that night.

The entire first season, the boys are following the trail John left and fighting monsters as well. They find out Dean was with John, Sam realizes Dean has an unreliable memory, they have heart to hearts about their childhood and the fire, they find John's body, "how could you kill Dad?" but maybe Dean didn't kill dad, whooaaaaaa, misdirection.

It was actually good ole yeller eyes (Azazel) and he made it look like Dean killed John.

Okay, now let's move on to the first episode

Not sure how the opening would work, I would like the story of the fire to be revealed over the course of the first season, but maybe the opening scene could be a little bit of an establishing character relationships and backstory, idk, I haven't thought that far yet.

I'm thinking maybe it's like, Dean gets back to a motel room covered in blood and he listens to a voicemail on his phone from John saying he was on a hunt or something, I don't really know lol.

HOWEVER

I do know that after the intro rolls, we get a scene of Sam waking up to his alarm and "Nine to Five" by Dolly Parton starts playing.

Y'all know where this is going.

Cue a montage of Sam's normal Stanford college life (him sitting through lectures, walking through the campus with friends) spliced with scenes of Dean absolutely slaughtering a nest of vampires (or some other monsters, whatever works best.)

But

Now onto

Characters!!! (And descriptions)

Dean Winchester

Some lovely person on this site made edits of Dean with platinum blond hair and it made me feel some kind of way so we're doing that, homie's gonna have platinum blond hair

Side note about the hair, later when the brothers are running from the FBI he dyes it a dirty blond/light brown (insert jackles hair color controversy here) as a disguise.

He also gets tattoos because we were robbed.

Speaking of tattoos, concept: when Dean comes back from Hell, all of his tattoos are gone. His body is a clean slate, devoid of tattoos, scars, etc. So he gets his tattoos done all over again, which he doesn't mind because he made some bad, drunk tattoo decisions in his youth.

(And before you ask, yes, he does get one for Cas, either a bee or Cas's name in enochian, something cute.)

Dean goes to therapy after Sam gets sent to the Cage.

It's actually court mandated because he got in trouble, lol, he would never go to therapy on his own.

Along with the hair, Dean gets to be the grade A twunk we all know he is.

Sam Winchester

His hair gets longer in every scene he's in

No jk, but imagine

King of Microaggressions

Sam starts off like the sweetheart he is in season 1 but in later seasons he starts enjoying killing a little too much...

It's that demon blood, ba-by!!!

He brings up issues of morality to Dean, i.e. killing monsters who aren't hurting anyone. (Yes I know this is contradictory to my previous statement, but these two facets of Sam can and will coexist.)

Sam and Jess's relationship is explored further, meaning we'll need to start with a different inciting incident, but that's fine, I think everyone can agree fridgings are *(thumbs down)*

Sam doesn't truly know what happened the night of the fire until later, and then he understands why Dean is so protective of him.

Jess

She gets to live beyond the first episode

She is also trans

No, I don't feel like I have to explain myself and I won't 💜

She urges Sam to join Dean in a search for their brother, kind of gets pulled into the hunter lifestyle by association lol.

She dies on a rusty nail after fighting vampires on a routine hunt with Sam

No jk!!!

But imagine....

She's amazing and I love her and Lucifer also uses her as leverage against Sam and possesses her because I think that'd be cool.

She supports Sam 100% and also she and Dean are buddies, pals if you will.

She meets Cas Thee El and immediately she Knows, that is a homosexual.

She dies still so that we can have a Saileen Endgame but she's not dying the first episode or in a fridging. Not on my watch.

Castiel

He gets to keep his raw, light-fixture-exploding power.

I want more of that "I pulled you out of hell, I can throw you back in" energy except over dumb shit like Dean not cleaning up after himself.

He looks like a Dilf in every scene he's in, yeah, that's right, dilf with a capital D for *(GUNSHOTS)* *(gets sent to horny jail)*

Claire

She gets pink hair

And more time with Cas

And maybe a nose piercing

Feel like she should be able to kill a couple angels onscreen, punch a couple homophobes

She gets to meet Jack and teaches him swears and fun slang words.

She deserves it.

Jack

I says "that's my baby and I'm proud."

Jack starts off as a baby, but like Amara he grows up super quickly.

Like, baby to 11 year old in a couple days or less.

This is because Jack's emotional age on the show is on par with that of a 5th grader.

It's at this point when he's a young kid that he runs away from the Bunker and shenanigans ensue.

It's also at this point that Dean threatens to k*ll him.

(Still not sure if I want that in my Supernatural (threatened infanticide? In my Supernatural? It's more likely than you think) but we'll see. We'll see.)

Throughout a majority of season 13, Jack is like an 11 y.o. kid

Season 14 he's like a 16 y.o. teenager

Season 15 he's 21, you get the picture.

Listen, I love Alex Calvert a lot. He's great.

But Jack is a child and should be a child.

Kelly Kline

Kelly, baby, stay right where you are, you're perfect.

Eileen

SHE DOESN'T DIE

SHE GETS TO BE IN THE FINALE BECAUSE SHE'S AMAZING AND I LOVE HER.

She teaches Claire and Jack swears in sign-language. Castiel is not impressed.

We only see him in flashbacks and only sometimes hear his voice in voice overs.

He's not "down the road" from Dean in Heaven, in fact he instead gets to wander around in some Purgatory like Hell for the rest of his time :)

3 men and a baby with Jack is what I'm saying.

I love it when the Trio are father-figures to younger troubled characters they see themselves in, even better if it's like reluctant-but-loving father figure, oh, that trope gets me every time :'^)

Dadstiel and DadDean are my favorites, but I like it when Sam plays "Uncle Sam" to kids too lol.

"Fellas, is it gay to want a tight knit family with your husband, his son, his vessel's daughter, your brother, his wife, your cop mother figure and her wife and their adopted daughters? Asking for a friend."

Garth

Biggest flaw of Supernatural was underutilizing Garth.

I will never not be bitter that Garth was only in like, 7 episodes out of the whole 15 season series.

Every episode with Garth gets immediately 5 times better.

I love Garth.

Follow ups on characters who had entire episodes featured around them and then just... vanished???

This is mostly about Jesse, the magic kid whose imagination ruled an entire town like, his daddy was a demon and nothing came of that kid??? Only one episode about him?? No follow up???

KID CAN MANIPULATE REALITY AND WE'RE NOT GONNA GET A FOLLOW UP ON THAT?????

Uh, there was that one episode with Ennis the guy whose girlfriend was killed by a monster? I think?? Who we never see again, that was weird.

Religious imagery

As a former Catholic school student who has become for the most part, disillusioned with religion, religious imagery in TV shows like Supernatural make my brain go "brrrrrr."

Like, after season 6 or so, there's a drop in funny episodes

I'm talking Changing Channels, The French Mistake type stuff. (Scoobynatural is an outlier and should not be counted.)

So anyway

In my version we would have more fun episodes

Racism

Yeah I feel like this is self explanatory, nearly every reoccurring character in SPN is white, and black side characters normally die in the episode they first appear in, or they'll be featured as a villain (Uriel, Raphael, Billie, etc)

Also there's a lot of... uh... asian fetishism featured in the show (what with "Busty Asian Beauties) that's really gross, also Kevin was a bit of a stereotype...

Also also it's super yucky how they kill the gods from other religions like???? Uh??? That's super disrespectful, let's not do that????

I know Supernatural is like, inherently racist because monsters are a separate race that are seen as some dangerous "other" that must be eradicated by hunters in a form of genocide-

A day in the life of baby Jack

Jack was getting used to Rowena turning him into a toddler, he didn’t mind, but he never seem to remember what happened when he was a kid.

He doesn’t remember how but he was a cute 2 and a half year old boy, wearing an oversized t-shirt.

“Okay, now auntie Rowena has to go” Rowena says after playing with him for an hour.

“I would turn you back to your teen self… but I haven’t caused the Winchester any trouble in a while, they might get used to and I can’t allow that” Jack stares at his aunt confused, he doesn’t know what she’s talking about, he just wants to keep playing.

“Play” he says and gives her a doll, Rowena smiles but refuses “I already spent to much playing, but don’t worry I’m pretty sure your dads are here” she grabs a glass and throws it into a wall, making a big crushing noise.

“What the hell was that?” Jack hears someone walking towards them.

“That’s my cue” Rowena gives Jack a kiss on the forehead and disappears.

He sees Dean and claps, Dean will play with him, he always has the most fun ideas.

“Daddean” that’s how he calls Dean instead of Daddy Dean, Dean lowers his view and sees Jack sitting in the floor, wearing a big t-shirt

“Oh man, I’m gonna kill that witch”

“Ant ‘Ena” Jack smiles, he knows his dad usually laughs when he calls Rowena an ant, but is not his fault he can't pronounce all the words.

“An ant I would like to step on”

“Play” Jack grabs the doll again and looks up to Dean.

Dean as usual just gives up, he did like spending time with baby Jack, but he doesn’t like dolls. He picks Jack up.

“What if we play our favorite game?” Dean says.

Oh, he knows what he’s talking about, is one of his favorites games, it’s called let’s wake up Sammy, he loves waking up his dad, Dean seems to enjoy it too.

“Sam” Jack squeals.

“Exactly”

Sam’s taking a nap after a long night up, he thinks he deserves one. Dean and Jack are outside his room, waiting.

“Okay, you know how this works, I’ll put you at his side, you just have to yell very loud in his ear. Got it?”

Jack nods like is the most important job in the world, even more important that killing God himself. They enter the room, Jack’s ready, Dean nods, giving him the signal.

“WAKKKKKK‘ AAAAAA” Jack screams while Dean laughs and Sam almost has a heart attack.

“Ahhhh!!” Sam wakes up, sitting up and searching everywhere, he sees Jack at his side and Dean laughing from the door. “Dean!”

“It wasn’t me” Dean keeps laughing.

“Daddy” Jack smiles at Sam, happy because he’s up now and he can play with him too. One look at the kid and Sam isn’t angry anymore, but he will get revenge later.

“Hello, angel” Sam smiles and scoops Jack into his arms, kissing all over his face. “Having fun?”

Jack nods and grabs his hair, one of the things he likes most about Sam, his long hair.

“Where’s Rowena?” Sam asks.

“I don’t know. She wasn’t even here when I found Jack”

Sam smiles looking at Jack playing with his hair.

“Someone needs clothes” Last time the guys had bought baby clothes for Jack. They thought about throwing them after Jack returned to normal but the clothes were cute and they kept it just in case.

Jack didn’t like the idea of clothes, he likes the t-shirt his wearing, he feels free and he can use it like a blanket too.

“No” Jack says.

“You don’t want clothes?” Sam asks.

“No” Jack repeats.

“Not even the Star Wars jammies?”

Jack thinks about it for a moment, he likes those pajamas and they are comfortable enough.

“Oki” Jack nods.

Now he has clothes on, he’s wandering around the bunker, his dads were discussing ‘adult stuff’ and he was bored, he just wants to play, but his toys aren't fun without a playmate. He looks around and sees something that caughts his attention, an outlet.

Jack doesn’t know why he wants to touch the outlet, now that’s at his level it seems attractive, he walks and puts his little hand on the wall staring at the outlet, there are little spaces just the size of his fingers, how would it feel to put his finger there, he wonders, he decides not to think about it to much and just do it, he’s about to, when someone yells.

“JACK, NO, COME HERE” Cas is the one who yells, Dean and Sam following him behind.

Jack doesn’t know why his dad yelled at him, he steps back confused and scared, he’s never seen Cas mad at him before. Tears start rolling down his cheeks, and he starts sobbing.

“I think you scared the kid” Dean picks Jack up, far from the outlet and safe in his arms.

Jack’s still crying and doesn’t know why. He just hides his head in Dean’s shoulder and sobs.

“Shh shh it’s okay, did meanie Cassie scared you?”

Jack nods still hiding his head.

“I’m sorry, Jack” Cas gets close to Dean and pets Jack’s hair. “I’m sorry I yelled I was scared, can you forgive me?”

Jack turns around, his teary eyes looking at Cas.

“Hug” he says and opens his arms at Cas.

“Of course, baby” Cas gives Jack a warm hug and a lot of kisses.

“You stole my Jack” Dean complains.

“We should get him to bed” Sam says taking Jack from Cas’ arms.

“Nap?” Jack asks.

“Yeah, nap” Sam gives Jack nose kisses.

“Damn he’s cute” Dean takes a picture. “How long is he gonna stay young?”

“Last time was 2 days” Cas answers. “But we don’t know what Rowena did”

“It doesn’t bother me honestly” Sam says.

“Me neither, except that I don’t change diapers” Dean says.

“So we aren’t gonna try to return him to normal?” Cas asks.

“Actually, this is normal, Jack’s 2 years after all”

“His birthday is in a few weeks” Sam smiles.

So yeah, they didn’t try to turn Jack back into a young adult. But when he woke up from his nap.

“How did my little angel sleep?” Sam opens the door with chocolate milk in a child cup.

“Good, I guess” Grown up Jack says. “Why do you have a child cup?”

“Mm… never mind, it’s good to have you back”

“Back? Rowena did it again, didn’t she?”

“Yep”

“Did Dean take photos?”

“You already know the answer” Sam laughs and turns back to the kitchen.

“WAIT” Jack says loudly from his room, Sam stops walking and pays attention.

“Is there more chocolate milk?”
