I present a new crack ship for your consideration. @ohboyhowdybuckaroo and i thought of it and we’re kinda in love.

We’re calling it Dad shipping. As Dadan has dad in her name and also whitebeard is best dad.

To give you an idea of their dynamic we have in mind, buckaroo said “if you look away for long enough whitebeard says something under his breath to her and she just rolls her eyes or tells him he's cheesy as shit but she's smiling and maybe blushing a lil bit.”

Possibly the funniest thing about Luffy isn’t even the behaviors we observe, it’s that this damn kid was passed around like a hot potato as a baby. Oh mom doesn’t want to raise him, dad can’t, grandpas busy, makino’s letting him around pirates, shanks can’t take him, Dadan tried her best, and then he’s off.

Deadass about to shower when I had the funniest thought

Ace being fine with adoption but only as far as Dadan is concerned. He calls her "Ma" and Rouge is "mom". Has the random thought that Ace had exactly ONE (1) honest job in his life and it was to buy Dadan a mother's day gift.

So there's this random, surprisingly honest conversation with... idk Thatch or Marco.

"You actually earned money?"

"Yeah! Not that Ma would have minded if I stole it from some prick noble but still!"

"She wouldn't have???"

"Well she is a bandit, you know."

"A BANDIT?!?"

"YOUR MOM'S A BANDIT?!?"

"Ma's a bandit. I don't know what my mom did. She... didn't make it when I was born."

"Oh! I'm sorry... so you were adopted by a bandit?"

"Yeah!"

"Then you wouldn't mind being adopted again, right?"

"Absolutely NOT! The only way Whitebeard would be my father is if he married Dadan and--no offense to your dad--she's way out of his league!"

*Whitebeard listening in*

"Well if that's all that it'll take~!"

Cue Dadan screaming in horror when Whitebeard shows up randomly to talk about one of her sons (Whitebeard is thrilled he's getting a buy one get one deal).

One way or another, Ace and Luffy (and Sabo) will make Dadan go grey single handedly. It's a competition against their gramps and they refuse to lose.

One piece Makino's baby theory and Shanks attending wedding theory:

Makino is married to Dadan, who's trans, and the baby is hers. That's why the baby's hair is light colored, because Dadan's hair is ginger, and the reason why Oda said we already know who the other parent is. It would also explain why Makino calls Luffy the baby's older brother, because Dadan is Luffy's mom. Would also explain the wedding that Shanks attended as a "ruined island" because maybe by the time they had the marriage there the fire had turned where Dadan lived into a desert of sorts though that could be a bit of a reach. It could also be possible that the wedding Shanks attended wasn't even Dadan and Makino's since i literally can't think of another place that might be called a ruined island than maybe the place Dadan lives from the fire, where Uta was dropped off, or Alabasta and the marriage was like.. another character's. Though I wouldn't want to call Alabasta "ruined" even if with Crocodile it's probably messed up. There was cactuses there so alabasta or Dadan's place is the only place where cactuses grow or where the place could've started growing them after a big fire. So it's either one of those or some island that we haven't seen before and the wedding wasn't Dadan's and Makino's.
