My personal headcanon is that Optimus Prime really wanted to be a dad and couldn't be one in the traditional sense because of the war. That has not stopped him from being a dad figure to some of the younger Autobots.

Thought I'd give your ask a try. I love dad Optimus and son Bumblebee.

How do you think dad Optimus reacts to Bee's potential partners?

It depends on the partners honestly.

- if the partners are both Jazz and Prowl, he’s hesitant but gives approval.

- Optimus pulls Jazz aside and Prowl both together and alone and make it very clear he will use rank and force to make their spark’s miserable if they hurt his bitlet mech in any way.

- He tells Prowl in so many words he will make the stoic mech lose composure and shows Jazz that even if he is a beast in the field, he is no Optimus Prime.

- Of course Bumblebee never finds out, he just happily sits on his sires lap and tells him about his day and how happy he is while the others know just how terrifying Optimus really is as he smiles looking at the two who are statue still failing to look unfazed.

- If its Tarn trying to get with Bee Optimus does not care about peace nor does he care about being civil or having honor. He will make sure Tarn knows to never set pede near his bitlet again. Megatron does not do anything to stop Optimus, he warned his troops, they should’ve listened.

- Oddly if its Soundwave and Shockwave Optimus is down right pissed but does nothing to stop it. Bee is in his rebellious phase and he hopes it will end soon. He bites his glossa in hopes it will be over soon and Bee will pick a nice autobot he approves of. Bee does not. Optimus almost rips his finials off when he sees Bee taking care of Shockwave and Soundwaves sparklings Rumble and Frenzy. They look like a family pod and he wishes it would stop. Its Ratchet that pats his shoulder armor and tells him to look at the bright side, “he’s well protected. Those sparklings nearly offlined a mech for trying to touch him. What do you think Shockwave and Soundwave will do?” Optimus isn’t so against it after that, after all- anything goes to protect his bitlet.

- Optimus out right refuses for Bee to Starscream which leads to Bee running off and Optimus leaking coolant chasing after him. Optimus does NOT want anything to come of this and he can’t live a peaceful life cycle knowing his bitlet is mated to Starscream of all mechas. Until he sees how loving and genuine Starscream can be. He’s still a menace and a scrap screamer with everybot else but for Bee he’s at least tame, bare-able and sweet sparked.

- Optimus honestly puts the least amount of pressure on Thundercracker. He’s civil, plans things, looks at the bigger picture, is not Starscream or the little menace Skywarp. And he easily sees how smitten Thuncracker is about Bee. He didn’t put up much fight when he saw Bee returning those feelings and didn’t object when Thundercracker asked to spark bond with Bee. When TC is seen cuddling with Bee Optimus forgets TC is a decepticon who should not be relaxing in an autobot base with his bitlet wrapped in a blanket in recharge on his chassis while said seeker writes a play dedicated to his bitlet….Optimus actually doesn’t mind this. His bitlet is happy so he is happy.

- last but not least if its Blitzwing…Primus help them. Its every creators worst nightmare to know their sweet, precious gremlin bitlet is being courted by the likes of Blitzwing. The afthole seeker turned triple changer who courts his bitlet in some of the sweetest and most chaotic ways imaginable. Blitzwing draws countless images of Bumblebee in recharge, fueling, fighting and gazing at the stars. He would think it sweet if it weren’t the triple changer he saw half devour a mech for touching his bitlet inappropriately. The only reason he stopped was because Bee demanded him. Optimus was NOT fond of Blitzwing asking for Bumblebee’s servo and spark. Nor was he fond of how gentle Blitzwing could be with his bitlet when it was just the two of them. Optimus will deny stalking them he simply had the same route as they did. Even when he looked through their shared home and watched as Blitzwing made fuel for the both of them every lunar cycle without fail because apparently it was his love language.

-Optimus definitely didn’t break down leaking coolant the moment his bitlet said he was in love and spark bonded to Blitzwing. And no, Optimus didn’t hold Bee hostage in his arms leaking because he didn’t want to let his little bitlet go. He did no such thing.

Basically Dad optimus is protective and wants only the best for his baby bot while also being emotional.

Optimus Prime + Autobots X female human child reader

Summary: It's been a month since you've been with Optimus Prime. You spend most of the time bonding with your new autobot family.

Warning: Probably not accurate-

(This is like headcanons not an actual second chapter)

Its been about a few months or more since you've been with Optimus Prime. The same night that he had met you, he introduced you to the Autobots.

It was both fun and chaotic with your new autobot family.

With Bumblebee, it was always fun. Whenever you wanted to play or go for a drive, or do something fun, you would always go to your "big brother" Bumblebee. He would always want to be by your side, anyways.

With Drift, it would be relaxing and calm most of the time. Sometimes you would watch him meditate and then a few seconds later, he would simply get annoyed/pissed off by a small thing like a bird flying around him, then he would lose focus on mediating. You couldn't help but laugh every time. And there would be times when he would say something you didn't understand, he would just shrug and say "It's a haiku."

With Crosshairs, at first he found you annoying- but after a few days he got more comfortable with you. He say how chaotic you could be at times...and he found it entertaining. You wanted to learn how to sabotage something? Crosshairs would be there to make it more chaotic. He's like the fun (sometimes grumpy-), chaotic uncle.

With Hound, it would be entertaining. There were times he would want to teach you how to use a gun, but before he could even hand it to you, Optimus would come out of nowhere and either take the gun away or pick you up and take you with Bumblebee. Then there would be time when you would just want to learn about weapons, even if Prime wouldn't let you use them.

With Optimus, it would be different than with all the Autobots. After all he was the one who took you in in the first place. He was your papa or "papa prime" as you would call him sometimes. He was very overprotective of you. The first time he had met/found you, he told himself that the next day he would send you back with the other humans. Of course, that never happened because he became attached to you. Since you were his daughter responsibility now, he vowed to protect you and keep you from harm. He is also as careful and gentle when it comes to you. Tries to be a fun dad(?). You wanna sit on his shoulder? He's gently pick you up in his servos and places you on his shoulder. You wanna talk with him? He'd sit and listen to you talk for hours. Prime doesn't want you to be afraid to ask him anything since some might consider him intimidating and scary. When you get older, he'd want you to learn how to defend yourself in case of anything.

Dad Optimus prime is in it and the entire premise is Optimus hide his child’s (bumblebee) existence from Megatron fearing him hurting his kid to get to him. Megatron still harms bumblebee taking his voicebox but after he finds out he’s Optimus’s sparkling he has a complete change in demeanour around bumblebee as he sees him as his nephew. Still hates Optimus but he thinks turning his child into a loyal Decepticon will crush Optimus more than torturing or killing bee (totally not because he wants to be a good uncle or anything definitely not) so when they all eventually end up on earth bumblebee ends up having to fight off kidnappers a lot… he ends up having to stay in the base a lot. The kidnapping attempts fail often but once a month Megatron will send soundwave after him and he’s stuck on the nemesis for a week or two before either getting rescued or sneaking out himself to join up with his team

Bumblebee is often terrified during those time periods because of the trauma of his voice box being ripped out and does not trust the way Megatron one bit and never understands why he has a berth rather than a cell.

Sentinel Prime vs. GN!Reader feat. Dad Prime

The dislike between the two of you was clear from the start

He dislikes you for being organic and always being around Team Prime

You dislike him for being xenophobic and his behaviour towards Optimus

Optimus is someone you care greatly for

He's caring, supportive and always has your back and you want to do the same for him

So one day, when Sentinel is talking down to Optimus, while he just sits and endures, you snap

Climbing up some boxes standing around to be closer in height, you start yelling at Sentinel

Sentinel is shocked and surprised, then he gets embarrassed and angry

Leaving Optimus to the side, he stalks over and starts yelling at you

Maybe facing a mechanical lifeform several times bigger than you, should be intimidating, but right this moment you don't care and you sure as hell don't feel scared of that pompous ass. No, rather you're very angry and you're letting him know so loudly. Maybe it wasn't your place, but you just couldn't continue standing by as he talked down one of the people most important to you. "-so, shut up!", you end your rant breathing heavily as silence settles over the room, where just moments before a meeting had been held.

It was almost hilarious to see the way Sentinel's faceplate contorted into a grimace, faceplate darkening in anger. With three angry steps he's right in front of you and you think that is the closest he ever willingly got to you. "Listen here you organic, this is none of your business. So why don't you shut up about things you don't know about? Or even better go back where you came from instead of being another useless presence here.", he yells down at you, his voice almost hissing at the end, the question who else he considered useless didn't need to be asked.

And to his chargin you do the exact opposite of shutting up and leaving. "Look whose talking! If anyone here is useless it's you. You act like you're oh so good, but everyone here knows that's all just talk no action. And really, who needs you? Because unlike you Optimus is not only way more competent and brave, he's actually a good leader. So stop talking down to him, you bully. Oh and you know what else? Unlike you Optimus has people that care about him like family.".

The meeting doesn't last long after that

Sentinel is so angry it looks like he's going to blow a fuse

Ultra Magnus is rather taken aback, but Jazz is definitivly on your side

Team Prime has a general positve reaction

Ratchet thinks that Sentinel absolutely deserved it, he'd love to chew him out himself

Bulkhead is a little worried for you and any kind of punishment that you might receive

Bumblebee and Sari are fans, they loved seeing you tearing into him

Prowl is rather quiet on the matter, but does't say anything against it either

Now Optimus, he is very touched and a bit embarrassed

He is also scrambling to do damage control for the relationship between the Elite Guard and Team Prime

But he does really appriciate it and is touched by your care for him

Papa Prime Headcanons

Jack once nearly fell of Arcee after a ko burger shifts and a long school day, since then Optimus picks Jack up.

Optimus doesn't show it but it makes him very happy that he gets to spend time with Jack. So when he picks him up, Jack often falls asleep inside Optimus cabin. Optimus knows that and purposefully takes a longer route back to base.

Miko fell sick once and Bulkhead was on a space mission with Wheeljack. Miko refused to rest without Bulkhead so Optimus offered to carry her around, which she accepted. He didn't put her down even after she fell asleep and did all of his work with one servo.

When it gets to loud in the base or Miko gets to wild, Optimus let's Raf study and read in his personal hab suite.

Jack sees Optimus as his father figure and unintentionally calles him dad whenever he falls asleep in Optimuses cab.

Miko came up with the nickname Papa Prime which ended with her once accidentally calling Optimus "Papa" instead of "Prime".

Raf made a father's day present together with Bumblebee and gifted it to Optimus. It was a photo album of the autobots and humans with a handwritten letter.

Optimus softly chuckled as he helped Bumblebee onto his pedes. He allowed the yellow sparkling to stand on one of his pedes while he gently held Bee's servo with his own. Bumblebee happily babbled as he flapped his little door wings looking up at his carrier with a wide smile.

"Ready little one?" Optimus smiled as slowly shuffled his other pede slightly. Bee happily babbled swaying slightly as he tightened his grip before flapping his door wings again. With a soft smile Optimus slowly shifted forwards taking one small step at a time while Bee mimicked along happily giggling.

After a few more soft steps the young sparkling finally let go of his carrier's servos and with a couple wobbly steps he stepped down from Optimus's pede and wobbled to the middle of the room. Bumblebee then swayed a little before sitting down on the floor with a giggle as he turned to look back at Optimus, who had a wide proud smile. "Well done! You walked all by yourself" Optimus beamed as he scouped up his sparkling again giving a little nuzzle. "I'm proud of you, my little Bee"

Optimus Prime X Female human child reader

Summary: Prime was patrolling in his alt form, at one point he stopped for a while. What he wasn't expecting was for a little girl to open the door of his alt form and suddenly get inside.

Warning(s): Mentions of death, cringe (everything I do is cringe-)

Prime was currently in his alt form while patrolling, the sun had set a few hours ago. Sure, the decepticons weren't attacking now, but Optimus was still patrolling just in case.

He had on the road for about an hour or more, he finally decided to stop for a while in a secluded area.

About five minutes of staying in one spot, Optimus suddenly felt the door of his alt form open, but he wasn't the one who had opened the door.

"Big truck... Cool truck..." He heard a tiny voice speak. The autobot then realised that a human child had managed to open the door of his alt form and climb inside.

Prime wasn't sure what to do.

Should he transform?

Should he tell the child to get out?

Should he wait until she leaves?

Where were her parents?

"Child..." The little girl jumped when she heard Optimus' voice from the radio.

"Ooh! The truck can talk?!" You giggled and stared at the radio. "I'm listening, Mister truck!"

"Please, step out."

"Okay!" Without hesitating, you opened the door and jumped out.

Your smile grew as you suddenly saw the truck transform into a giant robot. "Woah! You're a robot! Cool! You look way cooler than the ones I saw the other day!"

The ones you saw the other day?

That caught the autobot's attention.

Optimus crouched to your level, his optics staring into your (eye colour) eyes.

"What other robots, child...?" Prime did his best to make his voice soft and gentle so he would scare you.

"The big silver one who made my house go 'boom!!' with mama and papa still in it. He made other houses go 'boom!' too." Your grip on your favourite animal plushie and blanket increased slightly.

Megatron.

Just based on what you said Optimus knew that you were talking about Megatron.

Megatron had killed your parents.

"What's your name, Mister?" You interrupted the autobot's thoughts when you suddenly spoke.

"My name is Optimus Prime, child."

"Cool! I'm [Name]! Mister Optimus, you kinda remind me of papa. You have like...this deep serious voice." You smiled.

"How long have you been alone, child?" Optimus asked as he looked around, there wasn't any sign of houses nearby.

"I dunno, I've seen the moon come out...like two or three times?" You did your best to remember.

You've been alone for over a day. No child should be alone without their parents for over a day.

Prime asked if you had any relatives you could go to, but you only shook your head.

"Mister Optimus...Can I stay with you?" You suddenly became teary eyed and your voice cracked as you spoke. "I don't...I don't wa-wanna be alone anymore..."

Optimus sighed. He shouldn't let you stay with him. He would just put you in danger.

"Please? I won't be a burden or cause trouble...i promise!!" You did your best to wipe your tears.

Optimus sighed once again. "Just for a while... Then you must leave and go back with other humans."

Prime transformed into his alt form before opening the door. You giggled before quickly climbing inside and closing the door.
