(this is gonna make me cry)
Tumblr media
“Ciao, fratellino!” Terzo greeted his brother, standing in the doorway of the Cardinal’s quarters, holding his little girl, Violetta, in his arms.
“What a lovely surprise!” Copia replied with a grin.
“Sorry I threw this upon you with such short notice, I’m going out with (Y/N) - er- this one’s Mommy tonight.” He said, quickly correcting his mistake as he placed his toddler on the ground.
“Oh no, you are not throwing anything on me at all. I am always happy to see my niece.”
“Alright la mia stellina, your Mama and I will be back tonight. Have fun. Make sure he stays out of trouble.” Terzo said, as if he himself didn’t come out of the womb Satan’s greatest troublemaker.
“I will! Hi, Uncle Copi!” she beamed, jumping up and down in excitement. Violetta loved spending time with her uncle. He was funny and sweet and had lots of cool toys in his room. Not to mention apple juice.
“Alright tesoro, have fun, but do not forget about me. I love you, la mia stellina.” Terzo said, kneeling to the ground and planting kisses all over his daughter’s soft face.
“Bye-bye Papa! I love you!” she waved as her father left the room.
“So, what shall we do?” the Cardinal asked his niece, clapping his hands together and shifting them a bit.
“Can I see your toys?” she asked excitedly, looking up at him with her big round eyes, strikingly akin to yours.
“Eh… My toys?” He asked, a bit confused, until realizing what she was referring to. “Oh, of course!”
Copia was, to put it bluntly, a big fat nerd. The shelves in his office were lined with what he would describe as “artifacts”, figurines and merchandise from various games, films, and comics, which were now old enough to be considered “vintage.” Thinking about that sent a shiver down his spine. Typically, Copia was pained when someone referred to his collectibles as “toys”, but found it utterly adorable in this scenario.
“Right this way!” He announced, crouching down a bit to take her tiny hand in his and lead her towards his office.
Upon entering the room, Violetta gazed up at the various memorabilia in awe, mouth agape. The Cardinal couldn’t lie; it was nice that someone finally showed some appreciation for his collection.
“Can we play?” she asked politely, pointing at the shelves.
In this moment, the value of the figurines meant nothing to him. He would normally become frazzled when someone touched his things, waving his hands frantically while jumbling a plethora of words,
“Nononothesearespecialdonottouchpleaseyouseetheyareworthalotandeverythingisexactlywhereitneedstobeplacedand-“
But she was a well-mannered girl, and beyond that, was far more special than anything on his shelf. Besides, at the unlikely chance she were to break something, it would be a wonderful excuse for him to scroll through eBay and search for a replacement (as well as other trinkets) late into the depths of the night. And if anything were to be broken, it would be broken by love. The best thing to be broken by.
“Sure!” he responded cheerfully, gesturing towards his display and letting her decide which characters would join today’s cast of playtime.
Today’s storyline was rather enthralling. A young and beautiful woman named Collette (a Princess Leia doll) was secretly in love with “Señor Joe”, (a Boba Fett figurine) someone her parents told her she must never speak with. The story ended triumphantly with a beautiful marriage. Copia didn’t know how or when they got there- he remembers Violetta briefly mentioning flying to Brazil on a private jet- maybe a war at one point- but somehow the two figures wound up at a marvelous wedding ceremony on Mars in front of all the Storm Troopers, to which, Violetta triumphantly announced, “The End!”
The Cardinal couldn’t help but wonder what you and Terzo were watching on television that inspired this thrilling plot.
“Wow, that was quite the story!” he said, impressed with his niece’s imagination. “You are very creative, much like your Mama and Papa.”
“Thank you Uncle Copi!” she chirped, practicing the manners you and Terzo taught her.
“Of course.” Copia caught sight of the clock, shocked by how much time had flown by.
“Violetta, it is now a very important time of day.” He announced.
“I already had nap time, Uncle Copi!”
To this, he chuckled, and ruffled his niece’s hair.
“Not nap time, it is feeding time.”
“But I’m not hungry.” She replied.
“Not for you, but for my rats.”
“Rats? You have rats? I want to see! Pleasepleaspleasepleaseplease!” She squealed, shaking her little hands in excitement, a mannerism he observed she shared with you.
“Papa says they are foul creatures plagued with disease!” she said, her bright smile indicating that she clearly had no understanding what any of that meant. For all she knew, that could be a top-tier compliment.
“Do you want to help me feed them?” he asked.
“Yes! Yes!” she agreed as she followed him out the door and down the hall, singing a little song about rats on the way. He might have to write that down.
And there they stood, in all their glory, two little rats in a spacey, well-kept cage, their beady eyes and soft grey fur capturing the little girl’s attention.
“Uncle Copi, they are so cute!!!” Violetta squealed.
“Would you like to hold one?” He asked as he opened the cage, refilling their food bowl.
Violetta got a tad nervous after his proposal, fingers fidgeting with the sides of her dress and her expression shifting to an anxious one.
“They are very sweet. You do not have to hold them if you do not want to, but I promise if you are gentle to them, they will be gentle to you.”
“That makes sense.” Violetta replied after her uncle’s thoughtful explanation. “I want to hold one.” She concluded. “Please.” She added, remembering what she was taught.
Maybe Terzo could learn some manners from his four-year-old daughter.
The Cardinal thought to himself.
“Now, hold your hands out like this.” He explained, cupping his hands with his palms facing up. “Do you want to hold Pesto or Bean?”
The latter name made Violetta giggle.
“Is something funny?” he teased.
“Bean is a funny name.” she replied through giggles, pointing at Bean, the brown rat.
“Okie dokie, one Bean coming right up!”
Copia gently picked up his precious Bean and placed him in Violetta’s hands. She giggled as she looked down on the little rat, so small, so sweet. A little bit like her.
“He is nice.” She said, smiling. “His feet tickle.”
“He is very nice. And sí, they do tickle. One time I was in a very important meeting and I did not notice this little Bean was in my sleeve until I felt him pitter-pattering up my arm and started laughing in front of the entire Clergy. Your Papa was there.” He recalled.
“Really?” Violetta asked.
“As real as real can be.”
“I guess I can’t bring him to school.” she sighed.
“I suppose not. But Bean is highly educated already. Does not need any more schooling.”
“Oh. I see.” she replied.
After some bonding time with Bean, Copia scooped him up and placed him back in his penthouse of a cage.
Bye bye, Bean. Bye bye, Pesto. She said, waving to the little rats.
“Next time you will have to hold Pesto. My bestie, Pestie.”
“Your what?”
“My bestie, Pestie. Bestie Pestie.” he explained nonchalantly.
To this, Violetta did not just giggle. If “Bean” was funny, “Bestie Pestie” was downright hilarious. The little girl started laughing so hard her stomach hurt, rolling on the ground as she repeated “Bestie Pestie.” The sound of the young girl’s laughter brought a newfound lightness in his heart, one that left his heart full but a little bit broken simultaneously. The two of them laughed together on the carpet, sharing what would be a treasured memory even years later.
After recovering from the laughter, Violetta asked,
“Can we play a game? Please? The car one?”
❦ ❦ ❦
“That’s how my Papa drives.” Violetta stated bluntly as she sipped on a juice box, pointing at the television screen as she watched her uncle crash the pixelated car in his video game.
Copia chuckled.
“Maybe you can do a better job than me? Your turn again?” He asked, holding out the controller.
“I like to watch. It’s fun.”
“Okie dokie.” Copia said, starting a new round of his game.
But this round was a little bit quieter. There was an absence of conversation. Violetta, exhausted from an afternoon of playing and laughter, fought the urge to fall asleep as her eyes started fluttering shut.
“Copi?” she suddenly said.
“Sí?”
“Are you a Papa?” the girl questioned.
“No, cara mia, that’s your father’s job.” he explained, laughed softly.
“Are you a Papa?”
“I’m afraid I do not understand.”
“Are you somebody’s Papa?”
Such a simple question that dug up so many not-so-simple feelings.
“Are you asking if I am a father?”
“Yes.”
“Oh. No, I am not.” He clarified, heart sinking a tad.
“Why not?”
How was he to explain to a four year old that he didn’t have what was considered a prerequisite to a child: a partner? That he was never sure if he would fall in love or that even if he did, there would never be anyone in the world who would love him back? That he wanted to be a Papa more than anything, but his life had not led him to that point?
“I already have my rats, I suppose.”
“You should do it.” Violetta suggested, as if it was a simple thing to accomplish.
“Maybe one day.” he replied, smiling softly.
“You’d be a good Papa.” she sleepily uttered.
“Thank you, Violetta. My brother is very lucky to be your Papa.” He replied, sincerely.
And the sleepy young girl gathered all the energy she had into one final statement before dozing off:
“Love you, Uncle Copi.”
“I love you too, Violetta.”
And she was off to sleep.
Copia carefully stood up, trying not to wake the sleeping girl, and walked to the closet to grab a blanket. He picked up something else as well: a small rat plushie he had been saving for her birthday. He figured he would give it to her now, so she could have a Bestie Pestie of her own. After placing the large blanket over her, he tucked the stuffed animal snugly beside her.
Copia sat beside her on the couch, scrolling online to find a new birthday present for her. He settled on a Barbie airplane that would make a divine private jet for Señor Joe and Colette.
Just after he pressed “order”, he heard a knock on the door and its soft squeak as it opened.
“How cute.” You said quietly, entering his room and seeing your daughter sleeping peacefully on the couch.
Terzo, rather than commenting on the sheer adorableness of his baby girl as he normally would, decided to torment his brother.
“Ay ay ay, I trusted you, mio fratello, with my sweet and precious daughter, only for you to allow her to rot her mind in front of a screen.” Terzo said facetiously, gesturing to the paused television, placing his hand on his forehead with an exaggerated sigh.
Copia, although accustomed to his brother’s persistent sarcasm, was petrified at the idea of rotting his niece’s brain. His facial expression was one of terror, and he immediately began spewing out a plethora of apologies until you gently stepped in.
“Don’t worry about it, Copia.” you affirmed him. “He’s just being Terzo.” you continued, playfully slapping your husband lightly on his arm.
“Is that so bad?” Terzo continued, tucking a loose strand of hair behind your ear.
“I never said that.” You responded, a smile and a soft blush creeping up on your face as your banter went back and forth, words slurring together.
Yeah, clearly it was a fun and not-so-sober night out. Good for you guys. Being a parent couldn’t be easy.
Noticing Copia awkwardly gazing around the room, you decided to spare your brother-in-law from your flirting, something your husband would never do.
“She always loves spending time with you.” you said, walking up to the couch and scooping your daughter into your arms.
“Aw, what’s this?” you asked, looking down at the cute little rat friend Copia had given to her, kneeling down and picking it up.
“Tell her she now has her own Bestie Pestie.”
“Huh?” Terzo said, raising an eyebrow.
“Pesto. The rat’s name is Pesto. Therefore he is my bestie, Pestie. Bestie Pestie.”
You actually had to pass Violetta over to your husband, still holding on to the stuffed rat, because “Bestie Pestie” on top of the alcohol might make you collapse.
“Bestie Pestie?” you wheezed out, trying desperately not to make too much noise, tears welling up in your eyes as you held onto the wall for support.
Terzo chuckled and rolled his eyes at his dorky little brother.
“Thank you for watching her, Copia.” Terzo said, giving his brother a warm smile.
“Of course. I hope you two had fun.” he replied.
You waved goodbye to the Cardinal, still holding onto the stuffed animal. You might have to share custody of this thing with your daughter.
“Tell Bestie Pestie I said hello.” You said, stumbling out the door, laughing.
As Copia said, Terzo was lucky to be a Papa. Beyond lucky.
But he was also lucky to be something else as well. A brother. Copia’s brother.
And even if Copia’s heart broke a little during his conversation with his niece, envious of his brother and the joy that came with being somebody’s Papa, that would mean it was broken by love.
The best thing to be broken by.

Papa Nihil taught his sons to sing
in the intro talk for "If You Have Ghosts" at Unholy / Unplugged in Baltimore, Terzo talks about how he and Secondo learned this song from Nihil. i think this quote is very interesting because it seems to indicate Nihil was the one who trained his sons in singing and taught them the songs for the band.
PAPA EMERITUS III: [...] But this is something me and my brother were taught by our father. Believe me, there are worse fish in the sea. Yes– Papa's papa. The grandpapa. You will meet him one day, I promise. And he told us, "As long as you have one thing, it's okay, y'all. The whispering walls. The spirits around you. The darkness inside." So he looked at us and said... You know what he said? "If you have ghosts..." Unholy / Unplugged - Baltimore, MD, USA (August 22, 2015)
it's also interesting that this quote seems to imply Secondo and Terzo were trained for the band / were taught songs at the same time, despite the fact that Terzo wouldn't get to be Papa until Secondo's time was up. and i think this might have been the only time Terzo ever mentioned Nihil?
anyway, Nihil being the one to train the Papas in singing actually makes sense considering Nihil's conversations with Cardi in Rite Here Rite Now. though it seems Cardi did not like training with Nihil and either didn't pay attention or skipped lessons.
PAPA EMERITUS IV: I have to learn another song? I don't have time for that right now! You gonna teach me?" […] PAPA NIHIL: I could've been a good teacher. If you would have only trusted my techniques. Rite Here Rite Now (June 2024)

The Dreams Lives Are Made Of
TerzOmega ~ Domestic Family Fluff ~ Resurrection AU ~ All Ages 1.2k Words Ao3 Version Terzo and Omega are finally living their dream life together as a family. But sometimes good dreams aren't always enough to fend off nightmares. (I finally let Terzo and Omega have the family they always wanted! Featuring original ghoul child characters) Thank you to @puuuders to workshopping the title with me!
---
Terzo was crouched behind the sofa when Omega spotted him.
They made eye contact from across the room, and Terzo brought a finger up to his lips, signaling to Omega to be quiet. He was hiding. Omega smiled knowingly, creeping back into the kitchen, trying to look inconspicuous.
Suddenly a tiny ghoul jumped out from around the corner of the sofa, claws raised and fangs bared in a snarling growl. Terzo yelped, letting out an exaggerated scream and covering his face, cowering against the sofa back.
“Please don’t hurt me, miss scary monster!” Terzo pretended to sob into his hands. The ghoul’s demeanor immediately changed, concern and remorse evident on her face. Terzo watched through his fingers as she approached. He made a show of flinching at her touch as she reached out and put a hand on his head, patting it.
“It’s ok Papa, it’s just me,” she assured him, petting his hair. Terzo continued to wail dramatically. “Papa, please don’t cry, I’m sorry for scaring you!” She closed the remaining distance between them, going in to hug him. Terzo took the opportunity to strike, tickling his daughter mercilessly as she squealed with delight, trying to squirm out of his grasp. He attacked her face and hair with quick little kisses. When she finally asked him to stop in between giggles, he did so immediately, joining her where she’d ended up on the floor and pulling her into a hug. “Papa, you tricked me,” she said accusatorially after she'd caught her breath, now pouting. “Ah, that is only because you fall for it every time, my darling,” Terzo replied, grinning from ear to ear before placing a kiss to the tip of her nose, a nose that looked so much like his. He never cared much for his nose, until he saw it on her. As he studied her face, he saw his own white eye gazing back at him, complemented by its counterpart’s dazzling shade of violet, a shade that she inherited from Omega. Her dusky grey complexion was flushed from laughter. She was absolutely beautiful. She was his everything. Evidently he had been looking for too long, because the little girl in question decided to poke him squarely in the chest in irritation. “Papa, quit staring at me!” She stuck her tongue out and blew a raspberry at him. He was just about to retaliate, reaching to start up another round of tickles, before Omega called to them that it was time for dinner. Starlight scrambled to her feet, sprinting to the kitchen as quickly as her little legs would carry her. Terzo pulled himself up, using the sofa for support. His knees really weren’t what they used to be. Terzo staggered into the kitchen, still recovering from being on the floor for so long. His heart warmed as he took a moment to appreciate the sight of his little family. Starlight was already situated in her booster seat, still small enough that she was unable to see over the table without it. Astrid was fussing in her high chair, making faces at her food as Omega patiently tried to get her to eat, cooing at her. A plate was waiting for him, too, at his usual spot next to Omega. He kissed his husband on the cheek and sat down.
The rest of their evening proceeded as usual, Omega giving the girls a bath while Terzo washed dishes and cleaned up the kitchen.
Storytime was interrupted by a particularly cranky Astrid, so Terzo and Starlight had to finish up her favorite book, “Guess How Much I Love You”, by themselves. Terzo made sure to tell Starlight just how much indeed he and Omega loved her and her sister before bidding her sweet dreams with a kiss on the forehead, as usual.
When Terzo had settled into bed beside his husband, it was with the knowledge that everyone he loved was safe and happy and within arms reach.
Such knowledge, however, isn't always enough.
Late that night, Terzo woke up like he often did since returning to the realm of the living: soaked in sweat and crying in Omega’s arms. Being dead had been about as traumatic for him as one would expect. Even after all these years, he still struggled the most at night. Both of them did. Omega wasn’t exempt from nightmares of his time without Terzo, but he was always there to comfort his husband during his night terrors.
Ever since his resurrection, waking up screaming had been a regular part of Terzo’s life. It didn’t happen every night, but enough that it had always been a part of the routine of their young family, and they did their best to live their lives around it. To try and mitigate the noise, they slept with their door shut. Now that Starlight considered herself to be a big girl, at the tender age of three, she had courageously offered to sleep with her door shut, too.
Tonight, though, was particularly bad. Terzo’s heart sank as he heard the pitter-patter of feet racing down the hall. “Oh no,” Terzo groaned into his hands, covering his face and kicking himself mentally. “I woke Starlight up again.”
Their door flew open, hitting the wall with a loud thud. Terzo glanced over at the bassinet by their bed. Thankfully all of the night’s racket hadn't disturbed baby Astrid, who was still sleeping soundly, a peaceful look on her cherubic face.
“Papa, Papa! Are you ok?” Starlight climbed onto their bed, and before he could process what was happening, Terzo felt two little hands on either side of his face, smooshing his cheeks slightly as tiny claws dug in. He looked up into her big, mismatched eyes, brimming with unshed tears. She was trying to be brave for him.
“Sì, la mia piccola stella. Papa is ok. He just had a bad dream,” Terzo said with a weak, watery smile. Gently he pried her hands away from his face, kissing the back of one gratefully. Terzo tried his best to hide the quiver of his lip, pulling her into a tight embrace. Omega joined in, pulling Terzo closer and wrapping his other arm around their daughter. Silently he placed a kiss on the crown of each of their heads.
“But it sounded like you were hurt, Papa,” Starlight sniffled against Terzo’s shirt. He felt a soft tendril of his daughter's quintessence brush against his mind, trying to soothe him. His heart melted. Terzo thought for a moment about how best to respond. They tried, as a rule, not to lie to their children. “I am alright, gioia mia. Papa… was hurt, a long time ago, and sometimes he still has bad dreams about it.” His hands itched to touch the burning scars around his neck as he spoke, but he decided to run them through Starlight’s soft white hair instead. “But they’re just dreams.” The last part was said as a reminder to both of them as he rocked her gently from side to side.
“Can I sleep in here with you and Daddy and Astrid?” The request was quite unlike her, ever the independent child that she was. Terzo took it seriously.
“Sì, my darling. Sì.”  Starlight insisted on giving everyone another kiss on the forehead before settling down, including her little sister. Terzo bit his tongue against his worries of her waking the sleeping infant, instead appreciating the sweetness of the gesture. The three of them snuggled together, Starlight holding tightly to one of each of their hands.
For the rest of the night, there were no more bad dreams. Terzo fell back asleep to thoughts of just how lucky he truly was.

Turn away I'm having more seahorse dad Terzo thoughts
What if the period Terzo spent in Poland was, among other reasons, to hide his pregnancy from the Clergy? Like when he got to the stage when the belly was getting visible and he risked being found out.
Then towards the end of the third trimester, Omega travels to Poland, telling the others it was a business trip, just to see his little one come to the world~

Out of all the Papas, which one would be the best father??
Probably Primo tbh. Like let's be honest here, Secondo and Terzo are busy slutting it up [affectionate], and Copia is a man child [also affectionate].

my everything
pairing: terzo/fem! reader
summary: you and terzo welcome your son into the world, introducing him to your daughter and the rest of the emeritus family.
(check out my masterlist to hear more about stories involving violetta and dad terzo! message at the end as per usual. please enjoy!)
Tumblr media
On October 13th at 11:57 pm, your son Vincenzo Everett Emeritus , or simply, Vinnie, was born. The process went smoothly, with your loving husband Terzo by your side at each second, whispering words of encouragement in your ear as you powered through the pain. He never failed to be blown away by you and your strength. Having a daughter already amped up his feminist game a hefty amount, but seeing you give birth twice raised the stakes even more. He loved his two girls more than anything. You were the light of his life, the reason he woke up in the morning, what motivated him to become a better husband, father, brother, son, and person. But he had to admit, he was thrilled to be having a son. It was expected of the Emeritus family to produce an heir, but he wanted to make it very clear to his son that his existence was not one that came about as a result of expectations, but love.
As the nurse placed your newborn into your arms, you felt a sense of euphoria that you did not get to experience after your first birth; your daughter was rushed out of the hospital room before you could even catch sight of her. There was no other feeling like holding your son for the first time. It was like every emotion into the world had flooded your senses all at once; joy, anger, sadness, grief, confusion, excitement. It was a beautiful sensation, unlike anything you had ever experienced. Your soul was aching with nothing but love for the baby in your arms. He was so small, so precious, so perfect. Teeny tiny. You wondered if he would share his height with his Papa. Black hair barely visible on the top of his head, his cheeks rosy and supple.
And just as you thought he couldn’t become even more perfect, he opened his eyes for the first time. His right eye was a hazy green, his left a ghostly white. You nearly gasped.
“Terzo, Terzo- look.”
You passed your baby into your husband’s arms, and as Terzo looked his son in the eyes for the very first time, tears welled up in the eyes they both shared.
“Hi. Hi, little one.” He choked out. “Your Papa loves you very much.” Terzo held a finger out above his son and watched in awe as the newborn wrapped his tiny hand around it.
“He loves you already.” You said, a weary smile draped on your face.
“I’m afraid I might love him more. And that I always will.”
You two sat in silence for a moment as he gazed upon the new life you had created.
“Y/N?” he said.
“Terzo?”
“You are incredible.”
“What do you mean?” You questioned.
“You did this.” He said, his gaze returning to his son in his arms.
“Having a baby? I don’t know. I mean, people do it every day.”
“That does not make it any less amazing.” He remarked, a twinkle in his eye.
“But you’re amazing too. You deserve some credit. You’ve been here for me this whole time.” You replied, honestly.
“You are so sweet. But please, take this, amore mio.”
“Okay. Thank you.” You said, finally accepting his praise.
“Thank you, cara mia. For being my everything. The best wife and mother ever to exist.”
“I love you.” You said tenderly to your husband.
“I love you too.”
“Hi, Vinnie.” You whispered as Terzo placed him back into your arms, where he rested comfortably on your chest.
He let out an adorable little gurgle, as if he was trying to say “Hi” back.
“Are you excited to meet your family? Your sister is so excited to meet you, little Vinnie.” You cooed at your son, eagerly awaiting your discharge from the hospital, longing to bring him home.
•✧•
Meanwhile, Violetta and her Uncle Copi sat together on the couch, eagerly awaiting the arrival of the new baby. One thing about Violetta: She loved asking questions. Questions that were sometimes best left unanswered.
“Uncle Copi?”
“Si?”
“Where do babies come from?”
“Eh…” Copia, not quite sure how to respond to this question, awkwardly trailed off. “I, uh…”
“You don’t know?”
“Well, eh, I’m not sure.”
“Who knows then?” she carried on.
“Only Satan himself, I suppose.”
“Oh. Okay.” That seemed to satisfy her. “Uncle Copi?”
“Si?”
“Do you think I will be a good big sister?”
“You? You, my little flower, will be the best big sister. Best niece, best daughter, and now, the best sister.”
“You’re the best uncle ever.”
“Aw, thank you, Violetta.” He said, his heart nearly melting. “But do not forget your Zio Primo and Secondo. They love you very much. They are the best uncles too.”
“Yes. Primo is nice. Secondo is funny. Not very smiley though.” She said, mimicking his permanent frown.
“That is a very good impression.” Copi chuckled. “You are a very funny girl.”
“Uncle Copi?” she repeated.
“Si?”
This was not a question, but a statement.
“You’re my best friend.” She said.
Copia smiled, tears threatening to escape his painted eyes.
“And you are mine.” He returned.
“Forever?” Violetta held out her pinky finger, which was equivalent to a swear. In toddler language, as well as Copia’s.
“Forever. I promise.” The Cardinal swore, latching his pinky finger onto hers to form a sacred pinky promise.
“Good.”
Suddenly the doorknob rattled, making Violetta immediately jolt up in her seat.
“I think they are here, Violetta…” Copia smiled.
The door opened, Terzo entering the quarters with a baby carrier in hand, you following behind.
“Here, let me help you.” Copia said, standing up and walking over to assist you and Terzo.
Terzo handed the baby carrier to his brother, and held the door open for you, as you were still recovering. Violetta was so excited at the sight of her parents she just about leaped off of the couch, running to greet her Mama and Papa.
“Mama! Papa!” Your daughter squealed.
“Oh, la mia stellina, how we missed you.” Terzo said, scooping his daughter up and kissing all over her face as she giggled.
“Mommy! Hi, Mommy!” she said, waving to you as she sat in Terzo’s arms.
“Hi, baby.” You said. “Come here.”
You joined them, wrapping your arms around your daughter and husband, kissing her on the forehead before sharing a quick peck with your husband.
Meanwhile, Copia sat beside his nephew. He peered into the carrier, heart seeping with joy as he looked at the newborn.
“Violetta, say hi your fratellino, Vinnie.” Terzo said, gently setting her down.
Violetta trotted over to the couch, standing in front of her baby brother.
“Be very gentle, okay, principessa?” Terzo said.
“Yes, Papa.” She nodded. The little girl’s face lit up with glee as she peeked at the infant under the pile of blankets.
“He’s so small.” she observed. “And cute.”
Suddenly, Vinnie began to open his little eyes.
And that was the moment Violetta met eyes with her baby brother for the first time, his green and white-
Wait.
Violetta then made a revolutionary discovery.
Mouth agape, Violetta exclaimed, “They don’t match!” Violetta excitedly looked from Vinnie’s eyes and then to her Papa’s, and back to her baby brother. “They match!” she exclaimed, pointing from Vinnie to her father. “They match because they don’t match! Uh…” Violetta rambled, uncertain of how to explain her revelation.
“Yes, Violetta.” you laughed. “He has the same eyes as your Papa.”
Violetta turned to her uncle, eager to explain this phenomenon to him.
“Uncle Copi, look! They-“
Wait.
His eyes also matched. They didn’t match. They matched because they didn’t match. They all matched. Because they didn’t match. Which made them match.
“You match!” She proclaimed to her uncle. “Because- because they-“
She was so cute.
“Your Papa, Uncle Copi, and Vinnie all have the same mismatched eyes. Isn’t that amazing?” You assisted her.
“Yeah!” She chirped. “But why don’t I?” she said, slightly dejected, but mostly confused.
“Because your eyes match your Mommy’s.” Terzo explained.
“No way! We match, Mommy!” she exclaimed, looking up at you, before looking back down at her brother. “Hi Vinnie,” She whispered. “I’m Violetta. I’m your big sister”
Taking a seat on the couch, you reached inside the carrier to hold your son.
“There we go.” You said, cradling him to your chest. “Hi, baby.”
Violetta crawled beside you on the couch, before Terzo picked her up and sat in her spot, placing her on his lap as she giggled.
You all sat on the couch for a bit, before hearing a knock on the door.
“Oh. That must be Primo and Secondo.” Copia announced, walking to the door and opening it.
“Ciao, fratelli!” Terzo mused, waving at his brothers. “Come say hello to your nephew!”
“And me!” Violetta chimed in.
“Hello, Violetta. How is your baby brother doing?” Primo said, walking over to the couch as he ruffled his niece’s hair.
“Good! He’s so cute. I love him so much.” she gushed.
“Molto bene.” He said, smiling and looking down at his nephew in your arms. You are right, he is very cute. Congratulations, you two.” He said, gazing to you and Terzo.
“Thank you, Primo.” you responded, as Secondo stood beside him.
“I see he has the signature green and white eyes as well.” Secondo remarked.
“Yeah!” Violetta jumped in, excitedly looking her Uncle Secondo in his eyes. “Isn’t it cool-“
Wait.
Before she could even continue, you, Terzo, and Copia started laughing.
“Yes, Violetta, all their eyes match.” You explained once again. “And Primo’s do too.”
“Oh. I get it.” She replied.
“I brought some things for you and Vinnie, no need to open them now, I placed them by the door.” Primo informed you, gesturing to a basket sitting on a nearby coffee table.
“Oh, thank you so much!” You said to him.
He nodded with a soft grin.
You really were lucky to be part of such a loyal family.

After putting Violetta to bed and Vinnie in the crib beside you, Terzo assisted you in getting into bed yourself, letting out a sigh of relief as you sat against the large pillows.
“How are you feeling, amore mio?” Terzo asked, sitting beside you and tracing his fingers up and down your arm.
You paused. You weren’t doing bad at all. In fact, you were doing well. But there was no doubt that you were flooded with emotions, the past 48 hours had been insane. You had a baby, for Satan’s sake. But that question always had a way of drawing tears out of you when you least wanted it to.
“… I’m okay.” You squeaked, your throat tightening up.
“Oh, tesoro, It’s okay. Come here.” He reassured you, as you fell into his arms, letting the tears come out.
“Sorry. It’s just, it’s a lot, you know.” You croaked.
“Yes, it is a lot. You are doing an amazing job. You are the best mother ever. The best wife ever.” He said, kissing you on the side of your head.
“Thanks.” You sniffled. “I love you.”
“I love you too, cara mia.” He replied, wiping the tears from your face. “Let’s see what my brothers got for us, okay? I’ll be right back.” You nodded as he briefly exited the room and returned with the basket in hand.
The first thing you noticed was a jar of beautiful vibrant flowers, with a note attached, reading: “October birth flowers, Marigold and Cosmos.”
How sweet. You would be sure to put those in the nursery tomorrow. The care package was incredibly thoughtful, Primo had definitely put a lot of time in it. You looked through the basket, finding many lovely things: a candle, essential oils, body salve, to name a few. But what shocked you was a beige envelope, adorned not with Primo’s handwriting, but someone else’s, addressed to you. Not Terzo, just you. It must be Secondo. You figured he had already shared some words with Terzo previously. You opened the envelope to find a piece of parchment, covered in decadent cursive.
Y/N,
Congratulations on the arrival of your newest child. You are quite a remarkable person. Not only for being able to put up with my fratellino, but for making him so happy. I have never seen my brother light up the way he does when he speaks of you, Violetta, and now, Vincenzo. The light you bring does not go unnoticed. Let me know if you need anything throughout this journey. It is an honor to have you as a part of the Emeritus family.
-Secondo
Wow. That was a heartfelt note from someone as stern as Secondo. You smiled fondly at his kind words.
“What was that?” Your husband asked.
“Just a little note from Secondo.” You responded, placing it in your nightstand drawer.
Terzo smiled. “How nice.”
Terzo looked at you, his eyes beaming with love and adoration. He was so proud, so proud of you and the family you two had created, the life he now had that he didn’t even know was possible. One full of joy and love and contentment.
“Now, let’s get my beautiful wife some rest, shall we?”
“Yes please.” You agreed, utterly exhausted and sleep-deprived.
You turned off the lamp beside your bed, you two snuggling deep underneath the covers as you let out a soft noise while getting comfortable. Terzo whispered words of adoration in your ear as he knew you loved, gently stroking your hair as he laid beside you.
“I love you so much, mio angelo. The only angel I will ever believe in. My beautiful, sweet wife. I love you. I love you. I love you.” He said, kissing your head between each proclamation.
“I love you too, Terzo.” You sleepily mumbled, falling into a peaceful slumber in the arms of your lover.

Another trans!Terzo x Omega parenthood HC because: I'm on a baby mood today
When Omega first held the baby in his arms, his first instinct was to lick all over him, like ghoul parents do with their newborn kits. Terzo was like "WTF?" when he saw Omega licking their poor son, but later thought it was cute, after all it's his way of showing love.

I Can Do Better
Ciao, ciao, ciao. Life is too short; so I've brought another drabble to the two (maybe three or four?) party fan club that I am still dragging my sweet, patient @copiousloverofcopia along with me. Sorry, girl. lol <3
Once again dicking around in the magical AU that came from the mind of the ever lovely: @copiousloverofcopia.
Mrs. Prime Mover Sister Alessandra borrowed from Prime Mover Ren and her series, Tied as One Eternally. Please read. It's life changing. And Ren is the best. Anything you click on written by her will instantly make your day better and leave you beyond flustered. Ayyyoooo!
Be well, be good to each other, and happy Thursday, my dudes.
-----------
Okay. So, this takes place a way a way back...
Terzo handed his radiant, exhausted, (and kind of sweaty) Prime Mover a plastic cup full of ice chips.
Alessandra stared dumbfoundedly at her husband as if he had three heads; hesitating to take the ice, “Terz… I said--”
“I have Omega and Alpha headed out to go get the shawarma order, it's not something the kitchen could handle,” Terzo cut her off, scrunching his nose at her and placing the cup at her bedside, “Paziente, Mama.”
Alé groaned, letting her head fall back against the mountain of pillows fluffed up behind her, “I’m not going to make it."
Terzo smiled brightly as he brought his lips to give her a chaste kiss on her forehead, “Soon, cara, soon. You’re strong as hell, Alessandra; this is a cakewalk.”
“You have no idea,” Alessandra sighed in agreement before a yawn slipped out; she looked down at the hour-old infant bundled in her arms. Dante Alessandro Emeritus, their second child, their first son; already had his parents wrapped around all his ten fingers. His button nose was the spitting imitation of Mena’s as a baby. His tufts of soft, ebony-hued hair were already a mess. Dante had Terzo’s full lips and matching eye colors. Alessandra couldn’t see much of herself in their newest addition, but she knew their son was going to be one handsome bastard. Just like his Papa.
“I’m starving,” Alé pouted, stretching her achy back as she gave her husband pouty eyes. Terzo gave her an apologetic smile, biting his tongue before he let himself foolishly mention something else she could put in her mouth.
“Don’t,” Alé warned sternly; knowing exactly where his train of thought was going, “I am in no mood for your jokes.”
“I wasn’t!” Terzo lied, laughing as he stroked his wife’s untamed curls. Alé scoffed, rightfully not believing him.
“You really are amazing, cara,” Terzo murmured, taking in his strong-willed Prime Mover holding their child at her breast. He lowered his gaze to their son, ‘Satanas, did they make great looking kids.’
Alé smiled tiredly from her cot in the ministry’s infirmary, proudly taking the compliment. Once they had made it from Dante’s impromptu birth suite in the hallway, the nursing staff quickly threw together a temporary private room for the family. Alessandra and Dante had both been fully checked out and given the ‘all clear’ by the physician. Terzo silently watched everything from Alé’s side, slightly shell-shocked as the adrenaline died down.
“He’s pretty handsome, huh?” she whispered still in a happy dopamine-filled daze; her heart couldn’t feel more full looking between a father and his son, “I wonder if you looked like this when you were born..”
Terzo smiled sadly; he couldn't help but instantly think of his own childhood, his own mother. He turned his head away from Alé. She continued to coo over their son, laughing to herself, “Just imagine: now you get to be tormented the same way you punished Primo all those years. What goes around, comes around, Terz.”
Terzo didn’t reply, the fears he’d been suppressing over the last nine months all hit him at once. The memories of his miserable childhood seeped back in as he tried to focus on anything else in the room. Traumatically losing his own mother. Being shipped across the country from one sect to another, before finally arriving at the ministry as a young child. And then immediately being tossed aside by Nihil; already having been inconvenienced enough to have a third unwanted child dropped on his doorstep. Terzo never forgot that dejected, hollow feeling from the man who was supposed to care and love for him.
Terzo held out for longer than he would ever admit waiting for Nihil to see him as his son; waiting for him to be proud. Terzo remembered all the times he had been caught in the middle of Nihil's drunken rage; being screamed at and having items thrown at him. He remembered the silent car rides growing up where Nihil couldn't even pretend to be interested in his own sons' lives. Or Nihil disappearing for months on end on drug benders. The cigarette ashes being flicked at him if he ever said the wrong thing at the wrong time. The public monologues of what a disappointment Terzo was to him.
Terzo looked up at the ceiling and turned his body away from his partner and child, pleading with himself to think of anything else. But the ‘what ifs’ kept circling back. What if this was his future? What if he ended following his own disappointing father’s footsteps and let his own kids down? What if he ended up being a failure?
“Terz?” Alé asked, looking away from the infant only to be met with her husband's back side; realizing he had gotten strangely quiet. He had his arms folded snugly at his chest and stood as straight as an arrow. She saw his shoulders sag down as he took a ragged, calming breath.
“Terzo, what is going on?” Alé pressed again, more worry evident in her voice, “What’s wrong?”
He slowly turned around, avoiding eye contact, mustering up a smile for her sake. Alé could see the misty look in his eyes and held her hand out to her partner, “Terzo, what’s wrong?”
He sniffled and let out a short laugh, he took his wife’s hand, giving it three squeezes, “I’m sorry, cara mia. Everything seems to have caught up to me all at once. I'm just emotional.”
Alé rubbed her thumb over his knuckles soothingly, smiling softly, “I knew you couldn’t be that calm, cool, and collected.”
Terzo chuckled, waving her off, trying to shrug off the conversation, “Sadly: no. Fake it until you make it. I’ll be fine, amore. Promise."
“Well, that's a lie. If you don’t talk to me right now, I swear to Lucifer you will never see me naked again,” Alessandra warned, trying to get her husband to crack. She raised an eyebrow at him as she waited for his response.
Terzo laughed as he dropped himself down into the folding chair the staff had pulled out for him next to Alé’s cot, “Eh. You got me. It’s just been a lot--”
Dante interrupted their conversation with a few snuffles and coos sounding like it might lead into a good cry. Alessandra smiled down at her first son; she gently clutched him closer to her chest, swaying him. She couldn’t believe he was finally here, still thanking Lucifer all went well. Terzo looked away from the infant, choosing instead to stare into the space in front of him as he debated about how to go about this conversation.
Alessandra interrupted his thoughts, “I just realized: Terzo, I’ve been hogging the baby, why don’t you hold him?”
“No, no, cara,” Terzo woke out of his trance and shook his head, trying to lighten the mood, “You’ve earned this, you did all the hard work. You keep the fresh baby.”
Alé rolled her eyes at him, scoffing as she started to move the infant from her chest, trying to swiftly pass him off to Terzo before little Dante started to stir again, “No one likes a martyr, Papa."
Terzo’s arms remained firmly crossed and unmoving over his chest, “Alé…”
“Why don’t you want to hold your son?” Alé sternly questioned, before slightly grinning and teasing him, “Don't pull a Nihil."
Terzo pursed his lips, feeling the knot in his throat forming again. Alé immediately regretted her words, knowing she had struck a nerve. She moved Dante back into one arm and with her free hand she reached to rub her husband’s arm, “I'm sorry. That wasn't funny. I didn't mean it like that…"
“Alessandra,” he finally sputtered, speaking a mile a minute, “I’m so scared this will be different and I won’t have the same bond I have with Mena. What if Dante is like me and he’s a stronzetto? What if I yell at him? What if he hates me? What if I don't have the patience for him? I… I can’t be like Nihil.”
“You’re not!” Alé exclaimed, grasping his hand, giving it a gentle, but firm shake, “You are nothing like him. You are an incredible father, Terzo. I don’t know how many more people you need to hear this from. You are the best father I could ask for for our children. You’re a little… much at times, but you are everything Mena and Dante deserve from a dad. You are nothing like him in the ways where it matters. Why didn’t you bring this up earlier? You promised me no more secrets, Terz. We're in this together."
Terzo tipped forward and buried his head in his hands, “I don’t have a good excuse. I know you’ve been struggling and worried about having two kids and I refused to add more undue stress to your plate. And… I waited too long to bring this up…”
She reached out and rubbed circles on his back, “My sweet idiot. You are nothing like Nihil. The fact that you’re even having these thoughts is asinine.”
Terzo didn’t reply at first. He began to open his mouth and then it felt like there was an elephant’s foot on his chest crushing all the air out, “What if I do treat Dante like how Nihil treated me and Primo and Secondo?”
“Again: you won’t,” Alé replied, completely dismissing the idea, “You’re better than that, Terz. After everything he put you through, you know what to do and what not to do. Look at Mena. I think we’re doing a pretty damn good job with her! A little spoiled, no thanks to you, but I think we’re doing well.”
Terzo smiled up at his wife, sniffling as he carefully dabbed at the black smudging around his eyes, “Time will tell… But I can’t stop thinking about it. Every night before bed. Every morning I wake. When there’s a quiet moment in my office. Every time I'm tucking Mena into bed. What if I become my father?”
“Terzo,” Alessandra scolded, “You will never become Nihil, you care too much. You're a good man. Now stop being a fool and hold your son.”
Terzo sat up and shook his head, “I’m not ready. Not yet.”
Alé disappointedly sat back, holding the newborn baby tightly to her, “I didn’t realize you were this upset about it, Terzo.”
“Eh, the paperwork, the Papa duties shit, chasing Mena around, and courting you all day are pretty good distractions. As I said: I know you had enough to worry about already,” Terzo admitted to his partner. He looked over at his son as his thoughts began to swarm his mind again.
‘I have a son’ kept reverberating in his brain. He couldn’t believe it, after nine long months, he was finally here. And Terzo was able to be there for Alé the entire pregnancy this time around. He was there for all the milestones: every ultrasound, the first hiccups, the first movements, being there to massage out any and every cramp she had, playing him music (Meliora being the first album once they were convinced the unborn child could hear), the midnight cravings, being there to help Alé with her birth plan (a sad waste of time looking back on it now), and especially feeling his son respond and move when he sang to him. Terzo loved every second of it. Their son was worth it all. Dante wriggled against his mother, making tiny huffing noises; unable to fathom how loved he was already.
“I can't believe he's already here,” Terzo murmured, trying to change the subject, he was hypnotized by the small creature, “I’m sorry for dumping this on you… it should be a happy time... and-- I'm sorry, amata.”
Alé smirked, still watching their son with his Emeritus-colored eyes, sleepily looking up at her, “You’ll learn this soon, Dante. Your Papa makes bad choices; just really, really poor choices and he’s a damned fool. I think he's just scared of you overthrowing him. But believe me, he will grow on you after a while.”
Terzo scoffed as he briefly stood from his seat to kiss Alé’s flushed forehead, “You’re something else, dolce.”
“You’re something special, too. You're a good man. You're a great father. Stop doubting yourself; there's a reason I keep you around and let you knock me up," Alessandra teased, trying to lighten the mood, “I think being retired has made you soft. What happened to the arrogant, self-righteous Papa with an ego so large, it could barely fit through the door.”
Terzo stuck his tongue in his cheek and folded his hands behind his head, laid back as much as he could in the plastic seat, “I’ll show you large.”
“There he is,” Alé giggled, shaking her head. She stroked Dante’s cheek, softening her voice, “These kids have no idea how lucky they are to have a role model as compassionate, empathetic, supportive, and courageous as you.”
“Ah, tesoro, you’re making me blush,” Terzo fanned his face, finding himself unable to pull away from her loving gaze, “Thank you for the pep talk.”
“I mean, do you think Nihil was even present for any of your guys being born? Let alone delivering a baby! You’ve already surpassed him in “dad-ing”. None of this would have been possible without you, again, Dr. Papa Emeritus the Third,” Ale cackled, tossing her head back, gently rousing Dante again.
“Okay, circling back to that,” Terzo began ramping up for his spiel with wide eyes, already waving his arms wildly, “We’re choosing a date for you to be induced next time. Because I’m not doing this any more!”
“Oh, I’m so sorry the problem you helped create is inconvenient for you!” Alessandra mocked, still laughing to herself.
“It’s not the birth, it's the fact that you keep having me on the receiving end. You know my track record, Alessandra! I’m going to drop the next one!”
“In the name of Lucifer,” Alé groaned quietly as her laughter ceased, wiping at her eyes, “There is not going to be a ‘next one’.”
Terzo’s well-prepared, crude response was interrupted by a soft knock at the door, “We will follow up on this later.”
"There is nothing to discuss!" Alé scoffed as Terzo sarcastically nodded in agreement as he stood.
Once he reached the entryway, he opened the door to see his two older brothers, and there excitedly hanging onto Zio Secondo was Terzo’s perfect daughter.
“Tesoro! Complimenti, Mena! You’re a big sister!” Terzo cried out, holding out his arms to his daughter; both just as equally excited to see each other. Mena almost threw herself out of Secondo’s hold as she eagerly stretched out her arms to her father.
Secondo handed his niece off into her father’s embrace, “We heard congratulations are in order, eh?”
“She did it again, Alé was an absolute macchina. A whole even 8lbs and a whopping 20.6 inches. Maybe the generational stature curse will skip him!” Terzo teased as he shook his ‘older’ brother's hands while balancing Mena on his hip.
Secondo peered past the dim glow of the room, studying his brother’s face. He looked down on him, momentarily lowering his sunglasses, “Perché stai piangendo?”
Terzo waved him off as he continued to rock his daughter before changing the subject, “I assume you’ve heard where he made his entry?”
“We are aware. Sister Imperator is already there assessing the damage. She’s furious, Terzo. If only you could hear the screeches coming out of her mouth. She’s already roped in as many of the nosy ghouls and siblings loitering around to help facilitate clean-up,” Secondo chuckled, already so proud of his nephew and his excellent choice in timing; already sticking it to Sister. He carefully extracted a wrapped Cuban cigar from the pocket of his onyx suit and handed it to Terzo, “Congratulazioni, fratello.”
“Lo apprezzo molto. Grazie, fratello,” Terzo replied, touched by the gesture before tucking it safely into his breast pocket. Secondo gave him a brotherly pat on the shoulder as he stepped aside for Primo.
“We didn’t want to intrude, but our nipote had been asking nonstop about you two; she is aware her brother has arrived. She’s been insistent on finding her Mama and Papa,” Primo explained from the doorway.
“Thank you for babysitting her, ti devo,” the new father expressed his gratitude as Primo enveloped both him and his daughter into a bear hug. The lingering smell of warm sun beamed off Primo’s button-up shirt, he must have been out gardening when he heard the news. The familiar, comforting aroma lifting a weight off his soul.
“Non c'è di che,” Primo replied softly as he stepped back from the embrace, “Well, we’ve done our parts. We will let you four have your family time, please let us know if you need anything else. We’re here for you.”
“Nonsense!” Terzo insisted, “You are family, too. Let me check with the mama.”
“Only if it’s not intruding,” Secondo reminded him, before shuffling his hands together, “But… we are excited to meet our nephew.”
“You should be, he’s a looker. He’s going to be something special, just like his big sister,” Terzo beamed at his daughter, receiving a shy giggle in return. He held up a finger as he and Mena headed behind the privacy curtain to see Alé and Dante,  “Aspetta un po’!”
“Mama!” Mena squealed as soon as she laid eyes on her mother in the bed; noting something bundled and stirring in her arms. She began to try and wiggle herself free from Terzo’s hold to run to Alé’s bedside. Terzo clung onto the toddler and fought her tiny iron fists squeezing out of his arms. They had wanted the meeting of the siblings to be a little more controlled and calm. Terzo was insistent on this. From all the books he had devoured over the past nine months, trying to fully prepare himself this time around, he had some idea what he was doing; surprising even himself.
“Oh, my Mena!” Alé’s eyes began to mist up at the sight of her first born, remembering bringing Mena home for the first time years before, “I’m so happy to see you, I’ve missed you, baby.”
“Missed you, too, Mama,” Mena dittoed. She whined against her father, trying to bend herself backwards out of his arms.
“Mena, aspetta, per favore,” Terzo struggled out, beginning to lose hold over his incredibly strong child, “Alé, amore, are you willing to see ai ragazzi? You don’t have to if you’re not up to it.”
“Of course!” Alessandra warmly welcomed the visitation as she sat herself up and pulled her robe back over her chest and shoulders, regaining a little modesty before receiving her brothers-in-law.
Terzo winked at her as he obviously captured one more mental image of her exposed breasts. Alessandra scoffed in disgust at her partner and rolled her eyes, patting down her hair as he turned away to gather their guests.
“Alright, gentlemen,” Terzo excitedly began, waving them into the nurse’s room, “Let’s go say hello!
The group headed past the curtain to be met with the glowing vision of Prime Mover Alessandra and her newborn son. The exhaustion was still evident on her beautiful face as she happily greeted her guests. She shifted Dante in her arms to allow the older Emerituses a quick peek. Primo and Secondo cooed afar at the newborn as they seated themselves in the other pair of fold out chairs; letting Mena and her new brother have their moment.
Terzo mentally prepared himself, asking his daughter, “Tesoro, are you ready to meet your fratellino?”
“Yes!” Mena whispered excitedly, desperate to get into her mother’s arms.
Terzo and Mena approached Alé and Dante in the bed as Mena began to take in the view of her new sibling.
“Hi, baby,” Alessandra cooed to her first born. Terzo leaned in to allow Mena to give her a kiss. Alessandra couldn’t believe it seeing her children before her; they had two kids now. Two. She couldn’t comprehend how she had agreed to this again. But she took faith in her husband’s reaffirming words: they’d figure it out and they’d be fine, “Mena, this is your brother, this is Dante.”
The four sat in a brief silence allowing Mena to adjust and take everything in. Terzo hugged Mena a little tighter, drawing her attention to her father, "What do you think, tesoro?”
“He’s hairy,” Mena stared at the newborn intently, taking in all his features.
“He… he is a little hairy… isn’t he?” Terzo hesitantly agreed with his oldest, the books did not prepare him for this scenario, “You too had a lot of hair when you were born, stellina.”
“I remember,” Mena nodded stoically. Terzo and Alé glanced at each other and shared a skeptical, but confused look.
“Eh, right,” Terzo broke the silence, “Do you want to say hello to him, Mena?”
“Ok,” the eldest Emeritus heir nodded slowly; still a little skeptical of the new human nestled in her mother’s arms.
Terzo lowered their daughter onto the bed next to Alé and Dante. Terzo fluffed up a pillow behind her to give her a little extra support. Mena burrowed against her mother, clinging to her arm, but still kept a curious eye on her newborn brother.
“He isn’t scary, I promise,” Alé empathetically whispered to her daughter, “You can get closer to look at him.”
Mena sat up, her small hands still firmly planted on her mother’s arm for security. She peered down at Dante’s face. Alé shifted her arms to move Dante closer to his sibling, he lightly stirred before silently yawning; his eyes still adjusting to his new environment.
“Hi, Dante,” Mena tilted her head, giving her new sibling an unsure, but welcoming smile. Mena cautiously reached a hand out to touch the blanket he was wrapped up in, seeming to relax a little more against her mom. Her little brother tried to focus on her face as she looked down on him. She squinted, inspecting the newborn before whispering for just Alé to hear, “He has my eyes.”
“He does, doesn’t he?” Ale laughed quietly at the innocent revelation, stroking her daughter’s curls, “Don’t you think he looks like Daddy?”
Mena glanced back to observe her father before turning back to her brother, shrugging, “I guess.”
“What do you think, my love? How does it feel to have a little brother so far?” Alé smiled, pressing her lips to her daughter’s crown.
" He's okay…” Mena agreed, taking in her sibling's features before nodding assuredly to herself, "He's gonna be trouble.”
The room erupted in laughter at her statement. Primo gave Terzo a stern, knowing nod, remembering just how much trouble Terzo truly was as a child.
"I'm glad he gets your seal of approval!” Terzo teased smirking at his daughter. Relieved the meeting of the two seemed to be going well.
“Do you want to hold him, Mena?" Alessandra offered.
Mena nodded softly as her mother carefully placed Dante into her tiny, outstretched arms. Terzo's hands waiting on the side of the bed to catch him if Mena lost interest; as he had witnessed her doing with her baby dolls before dropping them to the floor.
“See?" Alessandra began, beaming down at the two humans she created, “Holding a baby isn't that scary, Terzo."
“I don't need your merde," Terzo jokingly muttered in a hushed tone, glowering at her while trying to mask his amusement at her taunts.
“I'm only teasing, my love," Alé winked, wrapping her arm around their daughter and resting her cheek on her head, “Mena, tell your Papa it isn't scary to hold him."
“You held me, why don’t you hold Dante?” Mena innocently asked, not taking her eyes away from Dante’s face. She seemed to be entranced by the baby as she gently held onto his small hand; taking in all of his features and the strange noises he made.
"That's not fair," Terzo chided Alé for using his daughter against him, clenching his jaw through a tense smile. She flashed a wicked smile at him and a wink.
"You haven't held your own son, yet?” Secondo piped up, joining in on the gentle hen-pecking of his younger brother, "Why won't you hold the baby, Terzo? You are scared, aren't you? Might drop him, mani di ricotta?”
"Stai zitto, testa di minchia,” Terzo seethed at his brother, glaring daggers. Primo gently nudged the middle Emeritus brother, breaking up their spat. Primo could read Terzo like a book and this wasn't the right time; his little brother was more tense than usual.
Primo rose from the seating in the infirmary room and made his way silently to his family. He rested a hand on Terzo's shoulder as he peered at the newest arrival.
“You’re doing so well, tesoro,” Primo complimented Mena, “You’re already such a good big sister.”
“Grazie,” Mena grinned up at her beloved uncle before returning to coo at her little brother.
"He truly is the spitting image of you, Terzo. At least from the few pictures your mama had of you when you arrived here,” Primo recollected, softly smiling as he basked in the glow radiating from the family snuggled on the bed.
“Bah, how would you remember that?” Terzo scoffed at his brother, wrapping his arm around him, patting his back. Primo leaned into the sideways hug, returning the embrace.
"You really would be surprised by all that I remember,” he smiled at his younger brother, tapping at his temple. He leaned close and spoke in a hushed, reassuring tone, "Sei dieci volte più padre per loro di quanto lo sia mai stato per noi. Non avere preoccupazioni."
Terzo’s eyes widened as his hand clasped over his heart, “Cazzo stregone. Esci dalla mio mente.”
Primo chuckled as he gave his brother another pat on the back, "I know you fairly well, stronzo. Now get that garbage off your mind and celebrate the arrival of your son.”
“Ave Satanas. Grazie, fratello," Terzo shook his head in disbelief.
“Sí, sí. Go tend to your tua moglie," Primo gestured forward.
Terzo gave his brother's arm a thankful squeeze as he turned his attention back to Alé and their kids. He lowered back down onto the chair, eye-height with Mena, “Tutto bene?”
“Sí!" Mena asserted, “He's very interesting."
Terzo nodded, pretending to understand, “You're telling me he's not too bad to hold, eh?"
Mena nodded vigorously as if she were an expert now, “Oh yes, he's a good baby."
“Alright, Terzo broke the brief silence, clearing his throat. He held his arms out towards his son, “I’m ready for a turn then.”

Once Thought Impossible
TerzOmega ~ Domestic Fluff ~ Resurrection AU
857 words
Ao3 Version
A sweet little moment between Terzo and Omega's growing family, set prior to the birth of their first born.
Content Warning: pregnancy, mpreg(cis)
---
Terzo awoke with a start to the sensation of a sharp hit to the ribs. He flailed for a moment, forgetting where he was entirely. Panic struck him as he tried to get his bearings, struggling to pick up anything in the dim light. Please, not the pit, he couldn’t be back in the—
He felt a warm, clawed hand on his arm and flinched.
“Terzo!” Omega called out to him, shaking him gently. Terzo gasped, clinging to Omega’s arm for dear life. “Terzo,” Omega repeated. “I’ve got you, you’re safe. I’ve got you,” he whispered in Terzo’s ear, his arm snaking around to hold him from behind, brushing against his swollen middle.
All at once, his memories of the last few years came flooding back to him. Twin tear tracks trailed down his face. He was alive. He was safe and with Omega, not only in the realm of the living but carrying new life, new life they’d once thought impossible. One of Terzo’s hands drifted down to his stomach, as though checking that everything was where it should be. A strong kick greeted his touch. Omega continued to soothe him as his breathing returned to normal.
Terzo turned in Omega’s hold, rolling onto his opposite side to face him, moving carefully. It was a harder task now than it was even a month ago, accommodating the weight of a ghoul kit on his slight frame.
This was something that few had done before them, and none without the help of the blackest of magic from some of the most ancient tomes. Primo wasn’t exactly happy to be involved in facilitating someone knocking his little brother up, for all intents and purposes, but after all they went through to bring him back with Terzo, and to bring him back as himself… Primo owed it to them.
It had started with a joke, at first, an accidental slip of the tongue, but when his brother nonchalantly mentioned that yes, ghouls and humans of all sexes had been known to procreate together throughout the centuries with a little help, even cis same sex couples, Terzo had made him regret ever having opened his mouth. He had hounded Primo for weeks, demanding to hear everything he knew about the subject. Eventually, Terzo twisted his arm into helping him and Omega achieve their greatest dream: being parents. It would be their only chance at having a child together, especially with both of their biologies being… incompatible with carrying a child, at least without intervention.
“Omega…” Terzo sighed, relieved. Omega stole the most tender of kisses and wiped away Terzo’s tears with the back of a clawed hand. His other hand made its way to Terzo’s belly, rubbing soothing circles. The attention was quickly met by another flurry of kicks; Omega chuckled into Terzo’s mouth. “You know you’re going to have to stop that if I have any hopes of going back to sleep,” Terzo said as he reluctantly pulled away from the kiss.
“Our little girl sure loves her Daddy, doesn’t she?” Omega laughed, moving down to kiss his husband’s neck, avoiding the deep scars he found there.
“Sì, and she won’t stop pummeling her Papa’s organs until you go away,” Terzo snarked, though his irritation was tempered by gratitude. Gratitude for Omega, for the little girl in question, for being alive at all…
“Do you want me to talk to her?” Omega asked earnestly. Terzo knew what he meant. Their kit, much like her father, was a quintessence ghoul, and so the two of them could communicate in ways that Terzo couldn’t. While it wasn’t exactly speech, at least not yet, Omega could seem to convey emotion and soothe her with his own quintessence. That was how they had learned that Terzo was indeed finally pregnant, after months of trying, when she had first reached out to Omega with her own little mind. Omega had frozen, ears twitching, eyes wide and eventually welling with tears when he realized what it was that he was sensing.
“No, amore, don’t bother her. It’s not her fault she’s excited.” Terzo sighed deeply. Now that he remembered where he was, he couldn’t stop the warmth that was blooming through his chest. “I’m sure I startled her just as much as she startled me.”
“All the more reason to try and calm her down, tesoro,” Omega said softly, his hand still firmly planted on Terzo’s rounded middle, skin to skin under the nightshirt that Terzo had stolen from him. Terzo hesitated, then nodded, a hand moving to tangle in Omega’s hair.
Omega shifted down the bed until he lay with his head at level with Terzo’s stomach, pressing a kiss to it. The movements intensified. Omega began to hum quietly to them both; Terzo felt a wave of peace wash over him, and knew it was affecting her as well as she began to slow. He wanted to stay in this moment, to cherish every second of their time as a young family that they swore they’d never get, but his eyelids were getting heavy. He soon drifted off into a peaceful, dreamless sleep.
