ao3: (x)
The first time it rained after she had joined the League of Villains was a rough night. She had just finished a mission that left her breathless and looking over her shoulder, fear creeping over her spine. She liked the rain, but didn’t like the loud thunder that tended to follow. Now, it felt as though she was being watched, and she hated the way it made her feel.
She tossed and turned in her bed for a little bit, shaking every time the thunder boomed as if it was happening right on top of their building. At some points, the entire building would shake, and she squeezed her eyes shut. She tried to convince herself that everything was going to be okay, but a part of her didn’t believe herself.
Finally, she had enough laying in her bed, waiting for the roof to come down on her. She slipped out of her room and padded down the hallway with soft footsteps, not wanting to wake anyone else up. She headed towards the common room, surprised to see the flash of the television across the open door. Peeking her head in, she was even more surprised to find Dabi sitting up, flipping through channels.
She stepped into the room, clearing her throat to announce her arrival. When he didn’t spare her a glance, she walked around the edge of the couch and took a seat a fair distance away from him. He said nothing as he continued to flip through channels, looking bored and exhausted.
His eyes had bags underneath them, his dark hair ruffled and his eyes drooping low with sleepiness. She thought to herself that he looked good ruffled, before quickly banishing the thought. They had only talked a handful of times, and while she found him funny and attractive, she didn’t want to develop a crush.
When he found nothing to watch, he tossed the TV remote to the side and looked at her. “What’re you doing up?” He rasped, his voice rough from disuse. She shrugged, rubbing at her eyes. She jumped lightly when thunder sounded, glancing up at the ceiling to see if there were any cracks that were forming. It would be just her luck for the ceiling to come down in the middle of her conversation.
“Scared of a little rain?” Dabi said with a small smirk, leaning towards her to look her in the eye. She shook her head quickly, opening her mouth to respond when Dabi leaned back and scoffed. “I don’t care.”
A little put off, she said nothing in return, turning back to the TV which was filled with static. “It’s the lightning and thunder I don’t like.” She whispered finally, wringing her hands together in her lap. Dabi glanced at her out of the corner of his eye, biting his lip rings gently. He dug his phone out of his pocket, fiddling with it before music started to play.
It was soft, melodic music that instantly put her at ease. She listened to the music he chose, surprised that he would listen to something like this but grateful nonetheless. The music filled the air between them, and she closed her eyes as she swayed, listening closely. It started off with Cigarettes After Sex, a soft tune that seemed to relax her.
Dabi watched her out of the corner of his eye, a ghost of a smile tugging at the corner of his lips. When the next song started playing, he leaned over to set his phone on the coffee table, angling it towards her so she could hear it clearly. She leaned against the armrest of the couch, trying to get into a comfortable position.
He watched her shift around for a minute or so before he scoffed once more, leaning his arm along the back of the couch. “C’mere.” He said gruffly, gesturing to himself. She stared at him for a second, which caused him to chuckle. “I’m not going to say it twice.”
Hesitantly, she crawled over to his side, leaning against him and resting her head on his chest. He wrapped his arm around her shoulders, pulling her closer so she was almost sitting in his lap. Every time the thunder hit, she would flinch a little and he responded by rubbing her shoulders with his thumb gently.
Slowly, she settled down, barely paying attention to the thunder that began to sound more and more distant. Instead, she listened to the music and focused on the way Dabi felt underneath her. She was curled up in his lap, eyes closed with her head against his chest. It was the slight rumbling that came from him that caused her to glance up.
He was staring into space, humming along to the song quietly. She smiled in response and snuggled back in, listening to him sing along to the music. His voice matched the pitch, knowing the song very well, and it only served to relax her more.
By the time she fell asleep, they had gotten through the entire playlist, Dabi humming and her listening. She was completely relaxed against him, mouth slightly open in her sleep as she took in deep breaths. The playlist continued to play in the background as she slept against him, clutching his shirt in her hand.
By the time she woke, he was gone and she was sprawled out on the couch. She rubbed at her eyes, looking around, surprised to find his phone still on the coffee table. It was still playing the same songs, as if he left it for her. She smiled to herself, getting up and turning the phone off, intent to find him. They said nothing as she handed the phone back to him, only exchanging private smiles before heading their separate ways.
From then on, whenever it rained, she would find him in the common room. There, she would spend the night curled up against him as he hummed those twelve songs to her. It was blissful, and part of her wished they could do this more often. She knew better than to push however, grateful for any bit of companionship he was offering. It wasn’t until Toga caught them together that Dabi tried to make the effort to spend more time with her. After that, their relationship blossomed into a hesitant one and they met more often than not late at night.

dabi with a s/o who has a healing quirk
pairing: touya todoroki / dabi x gn!reader
tags: hurt/comfort, painful quirk / quirk with drawbacks, league of villains member!reader, protective!dabi, touya has a crush on you
you met dabi when you joined the league of villains
you were responsible for patching up the villains after their assaults against the heroes
at first, dabi didn't think much of you
but the two of you started to chat with each other a little each time you were healing him
he realized that you were too nice to be a villain and yet you had decided to stick with them
you could've joined any hero agency you wanted to with your quirk and yet you had landed here – with the villains!
he was intrigued by you and he couldn't help falling for you
dabi started to ask more questions about you, to learn more about your past, trying to understand you better
and it was during all of that that he discovered something about your quirk. something you had been hiding from him and the league of villains
your quirk had always seemed a bit too perfect in his eyes. you could heal any wound and it would barely even leave a scar
but there had been a drawback to your quirk. one that you had been keeping a secret from everyone
whenever you were healing someone, you could feel their pain
all those times when he came back half dead and let you heal his wounds, you could feel his pain as well…
as soon as he realized it, dabi started to feel horrible about it
he had put you through so much pain, without even realizing it! you were suffering all those months with him…
and you were healing the other members as well!
he couldn't even imagine how painful it must've been to be burdened with everyone's pain each day
now that dabi knew about the drawbacks of your quirk, he tried to avoid letting you use it
and he started to scold anyone who depended on your quirk too much
dabi would much rather prefer to watch his comrades suffer than you…

You’re lay on your front in bed, body tired from a long day. Your head tilted to one side to look at the man you love, his eyes drowsy as he slowly succumbs to the comfort of the mattress.
Though tired himself, his large warm hand rubs gently across your shoulders in rhythmic motions and he mutters loving words in a voice barely above a whisper.
Utter bliss is all you feel right now, the calming comfort of your cozy bedroom causes your brain to let go of todays worries. The moonlight cascades in through the large palladian window, painting the room in the cosmic colours of the sky, whilst the pitter-patter of rain lightly taps against the window, almost too quiet for you to hear.
You move you body to lay facing him, which causes his muscle memory to move into gear, pulling you into his chest so his nose is pressed into your hair coaxing a happy sigh to fall from his lips.
Love resonates inside this home and you wouldn’t have it any other way.

K. Bakugo x !afab reader! His s/o with a small chest. 🍒
Genre: Fluff + Slight nsfw mention + comfort ♡
Katsuki honestly never really noticed nor really cared about the size of your chest. He’s always been looking for someone with the same attitude as him. Someone who’s strong and pretty independent. But regardless he loves you for you! No questions asked. If he sees you being insecure about the size difference out of every other girl in class, you are in for a lecture..
“Y/n, you are so dumb. I don’t care what size your chest is. So stop whining about it.”
He’d huff at the end of these conversations more often than usual. But a lot of the time you’d find a reason to still be upset. (me fr)
“Katsuki, you don’t get it. Every girl in our class has these big boobs and it just makes me wonder if I’m even remotely attractive.”
Tears stained on your face. He’d sigh and pull you into a tight forceful hug.
“Your body is the last thing I’m worried about. All I want in a partner is you, regardless if you have a hot body or not. To me, your body is perfect anyways. lemme tell you right now. You are perfect Y/n, don’t let these thoughts or useless other people make you think otherwise, got it?”
As you hug him, you silently cry into his shirt and eventually look up at him and nod.
“I love your tits the way they are. I love everything about you, that’s a fact. No one should have an opinion anyways, and if they do the only opinion that matters is mine. I love the way they feel and look when I have my way with you.”
While blushing, you start to feel better overall. You still aren’t completely confident about your chest, but hearing what he had to say made you think so much more less bad about yourself.
“Thanks Kat, I’m sorry. I wish I was more comfortable and confident in my own skin but, it’ll get better I’m sure. I’m glad though you love me, for being me. I guess being less visually attractive has its own special benefits.”
You smiled feeling better, pulling away from his embrace wiping away tears. He nodded and kissed you on the lips.
“Mhm, I know I’m not the best with words or whatever. But I mean what I say you know. Even if it’s harsh or not. You the prettiest girl I’ve ever met.”
You looked at him with pure awe and just wanted to smother him with your unconditional love and affection. You dragged him to his dorm and you got into some pajamas, basically just short shorts and a baggy t-shirt of Katsuki. Both of you cuddled til the lights were out and both you were sound asleep.
———-
A/n: AAAAHH!!! First actual post!!!!! Feel free to leave me suggestions!!! This was super fun and I love to write!!! Give me some good scenarios!!

The Nightmare (Reverse Comfort Dabi X Fem!Reader)
Summary: Dabi’s outburst causes you to stir in the bed beside him, your vision blurred from heavy sleep, but you can make out Dabi’s form in the darkness, sitting up, hands raking through his hair. You can feel the bed getting warmer…the heat emanating from his body as his Quirk feeds into his emotions.

Tumblr Original <3
Touya Todoroki shrieks, pulling at his hair as he wakes up in an overwhelming fit, overheating and crying...or at least, crying as much as he can with burnt tear ducts. He grits his teeth so hard he’s worried they might crack. His fingernails catch on the scars under his eyes as he claws at his face, wincing as a small yelp of pain bursts from his lips as fresh blood streaks down, sullying the staples that should’ve been cleaned earlier in the week. Truthfully, he couldn’t feel a thing…physically…the small noise of agony was rooted in his heart. He hadn’t been doing well whatsoever; ever since the number one hero spot was just handed to Endeavor after everything he’d put them through…everything he’d painstakingly carved into Touya’s heart, Dabi couldn’t take it. It wasn’t fucking fair. None of it was fair. It proved that hard work meant nothing. All the training on the mountain…burning himself…hurting himself just to prove he was worth a shit. It meant nothing. It was all for nothing.
Dabi’s outburst causes you to stir in the bed beside him, your vision blurred from heavy sleep, but you can make out Dabi’s form in the darkness, sitting up, hands raking through his hair. You can feel the bed getting warmer…the heat emanating from his body as his Quirk feeds into his emotions.
“Dabi?” You yawn, rubbing your eyes as you try to sit up. “Are you okay?”
“I’M NOT CRYING!” He shouts angrily, whirling around, making you flinch at the roughness and desperation in his tone. His eyes widen when he watches you shrink back, blood pouring even more down his face as he starts swearing at himself. You know he has anger issues, but this is the first time he’s lashed out at you. His eyes are distant, brilliant turquoise glazed over, and the familiar smell of burning flesh permeates the air as thin plumes of flame begin to slide out of the left side of his face.
“Dabi, you’re burning up,” You mutter, your tone hinting at your panic.
He seems dissociated for a minute, acting confused…as if he doesn’t know his own name. He blinks before registering the dull burning sensation that he can barely even feel at this point. He barely registers that the side of his face caught fire.
“Shit,” He grunts, the corners of his eyes scrunching and his eyebrows furrowing as he takes in a shuddering breath. Ignoring his obvious breakdown, you get on your knees and approach. Your Quirk is Fireproof; it’s one of the main reasons you and Dabi had learned to click so much. You were the only one that could quell his flames. Tentatively, you cup the side of his face, pressing your palm into his skin and snuffing out the azure fire instantly. He closes his eyes, shoulders rolling, breaths staggered and shaking as his chest rises and falls. Your hand moves to run through his tangled black hair, fingernails gently scratching at his scalp, hoping to ground him in some way. Your heart twists at the rivulets of blood seeping down his face, staining the sheets beneath him as it drips down his chin. You can’t stand seeing him so broken like this…especially when he puts up that cold and callous front all the time. It’s such a stark contrast to the persona you’re used to.
“It’s okay…I’m right here,” You whisper softly, aware of how silly it might sound. Silliness aside, Dabi takes another deep breath, deliberate and slow, as if he’s breathing you in. His hands drop, shaking as he tentatively wraps his arms around you, burying his face into the top of your head. He mumbles something that sounds halfway between a curse and an apology.
“Can I ask what’s wrong?” You tentatively mumble, and Dabi’s hold on you tightens, his fingernails slightly digging into the fabric of your sleep shirt, just barely grazing your skin. He pulls back.
“Nightmare,” Dabi admits after a brief moment of silence, the word tasting sour on his tongue. A nightmare rooted in memories was the real truth, but he wasn’t ready to disclose that. You gently wipe the blood off his face with your fingers, cradling his jaw in your palms as his cerulean eyes glow at you in the darkness. You decide not to pressure him any further, letting the tense quiet wash over you as you hold each other. His arms are still firmly wrapped around you, eyes flickering from in the moment to staring far away.
“You wanna go back to sleep?” You yawn, well aware that it’s the middle of the night. Dabi simply shrugs, sniffling. Another beat of silence passes between you two. Carefully, your arms fall, draping around his neck in a gentle hug, awkward but tender. Gradually, Dabi softens in your embrace, melting toward you, body heavy and heart sinking as he lets his exhaustion settle inside him.
“C’mon,” You whisper, gently falling backward onto the mattress, Dabi’s full weight resting on top of you, arms still vice-gripping your body as he hides his face in your shoulder. Your hands explore further, delicately rubbing his back, being careful not to catch on any staples. Dabi sighs, heavy with unspoken sorrow. It makes your heart pang…you wish he gave you more leeway into his psyche. You so desperately wish you could help him…not fix him. He didn’t need to be fixed; he wasn’t some broken toy that you sought to change. But it was clear that he desperately needed to heal from something…something that was gnawing at his insides until it bled raw. Either way, you were going to stay by his side. You’d already made your decision. You were in love…embarrassingly enough, and, as far as you were concerned, so was Dabi.
You listen to the sounds of his breathing, intense and quivering, feeling the pressure of his chest expanding against yours. His breaths seem to calm the longer you trace your fingers along the length of his back, grounding him and tethering him to you…to the world…to his world.
“I love you…I don’t want you to think I don’t…I…I don’t know why I freaked out on you,” Dabi speaks, his raspy voice barely audible, straining as if he’s having to force the words out…as if he’s speaking against his will.
“I love you, too. It’s alright,” You smile solemnly, turning your head to give him a chaste kiss on the cheek. He goes stiff when your lips connect with the thin strip of healthy flesh on his cheek, a shiver rolling down his spine before he relaxes once again. Dabi pushes himself up , looking down into your eyes before sweetly connecting your lips. You don’t cringe when you faintly taste the blood. You were used to it at this point. Dabi could keep up the charade that he was a monster, but you knew better…or at least…you were starting to. You were beginning to chip away at the harsh facade. You saw a side of him no one else got to see. The broad smiles. The light in his eyes and the ecstatic repetitive tapping of his feet when he got excited. He let the facade slip around you…but no one else.
Dabi keeps kissing you, one of his calloused hands brushing against your cheek, the cold staples in his wrist sending a shock through you. Finally, you separate, taking careful note of the way the corners of his mouth just barely twitch upward.
“I’ll be right here,” You promise as Dabi rests on his side beside you, waiting for you to wrap your arms around him. You bring him in to cuddle, draping an arm over his shoulder as he hides his face in your chest.
“Goodnight, Dabi.”
"Goodnight."

Hi! Could you write a BNHA Dabi x Female Reader? Something short and simple where Dabi comes home after a mission, all burnt out and exhausted, and the reader helps him unwind, taking care of his burns and just giving him a bit of comfort. I'd love to see that softer side of him! Thank you!
✧・゚: a/n : thank you for the request, anon! this is totally how Dabi would act after a tough mission. It’s always satisfying to see him drop that hard exterior just a little bit when he’s around someone he trusts. hope you guys enjoy this one!
✧ Title: ✧ Worn Down ✧ ✧ Characters: Dabi x Female Reader ✧ Genre: Hurt/Comfort, Fluff, Light Angst ✧ Rating: T ✧ Summary: Dabi comes home from a brutal mission, exhaustion weighing him down like never before. You try to get him to take it easy, offering the care and softness he never admits he needs. He doesn’t have to pretend with you. ✧ Content Warnings: Mentions of overexertion, exhaustion, caretaking, mild vulnerability, !soft Dabi ✧ WC: 784 words // 4307 chars
The door creaked open, and the sound of heavy, sluggish footsteps filled the quiet apartment. You looked up from the book you were reading, seeing Dabi step inside, his silhouette outlined by the dim light of the hallway.
But as he made his way into the room, you couldn’t help but notice how worn-out he looked. His usual swagger was replaced by slow, uneven movements, his shoulders slumped under the weight of exhaustion. The mission must have been brutal.
Dabi didn’t say a word as he dropped onto the couch beside you, his head falling back against the cushion, eyes closed in clear frustration. His chest rose and fell with deep, ragged breaths as if every inhale took more effort than the last.
"Dabi…" you murmured, worry threading through your voice as you reached out to gently touch his arm. His body tensed under your fingers, but he didn’t pull away, didn’t brush you off like he usually did. That alone told you how drained he really was.
"I'm fine," he grunted, though the tightness in his jaw betrayed him. It was the same line he always threw out when he didn’t want to admit he was hurting. But you knew him well enough by now to see through it.
"You don’t look fine," you said softly, sitting up straighter as you studied him. His skin was slick with sweat, and his muscles were still trembling slightly, likely from the strain of overusing his quirk. Even someone like him, with all his power, had limits.
Dabi huffed, his lips pulling into a weak, half-hearted smirk. "Overdid it, that’s all."
You frowned, your hand moving to gently rub his back. "You always overdo it."
He didn’t respond to that, just let out a long, tired exhale as he leaned forward, elbows resting on his knees as he buried his face in his hands. His usual cocky exterior had cracked, leaving behind the raw, vulnerable man underneath—the one who pushed himself too hard, too often, just to prove a point to a world that had already turned its back on him.
Wordlessly, you stood up and disappeared into the kitchen, grabbing a cold bottle of water from the fridge. When you returned, you handed it to him, and he took it without a word, the faintest hint of gratitude flickering in his tired eyes.
"You need to take it easy sometimes," you whispered, sitting down beside him again, your hand resting on his thigh. "You can’t keep going like this."
Dabi unscrewed the cap and took a long drink, his throat working as he swallowed. For a moment, he didn’t say anything, just stared down at the bottle in his hand as if it held all the answers he was too stubborn to ask for.
"I’ve got things to do," he muttered after a beat, though there was no real fire in his voice. He was too tired to fight you on this.
"You’ve done enough for one night," you replied gently, your thumb brushing soothing circles on his leg. "Let me take care of you for once."
Dabi snorted, but there was no edge to it. His hand came up to rub the back of his neck, the tension in his shoulders still painfully obvious. "You’re too soft for this life," he said, though the words lacked their usual bite.
You just smiled softly, knowing it was his way of deflecting. “Maybe. But you need someone to be soft for you.”
He let out a long, frustrated sigh but didn’t protest when you shifted closer, your hand moving to his hair, gently combing through the dark strands. It was something that always seemed to calm him, though he’d never admit it.
For a while, the two of you sat in comfortable silence, your fingers trailing through his hair as he leaned back against the couch, finally letting his body relax. His breathing slowed, and for the first time that night, he looked almost peaceful—like the weight of everything he carried had finally lightened, if only for a little while.
“You’re gonna spoil me if you keep this up,” he muttered, his voice low and rough from exhaustion.
You chuckled softly, leaning down to press a gentle kiss to his temple. “You deserve to be spoiled a little.”
For a moment, Dabi didn’t respond, but as the silence stretched between you, you noticed the way his body sagged further into the couch, his defenses crumbling just a little more. He let his head fall against your shoulder, and though he didn’t say it out loud, you could feel the unspoken gratitude in the way he leaned into your touch.
He didn’t have to pretend with you.

Tomorrow -Dabi x Reader
A/n: I must warn you... I'm rusty xD
It's not my usual writing style, for some reason I default to this when I'm trying to get out of a block? *shrugs*
Anyways here you go, I hope it's not too terrible. <3
Not edited, I'll probably rewrite/add onto it later on.
General info:
Genre: reverse comfort w/ angsty undertone \\ wc: 405 \\ fem reader \\ posted: 05/31/24
Warnings!: hints(?) of Dabi's past, hinted nudity (showering together- not vividly described!), Dabi overusing his quirk, mention of shutting down when confronted, mentions of wounds, mention of slowing killing oneself (overusing quirk), idk what else? Please let me know if I miss anything!! <3
Heavy footprints alert you to Dabi entering through your apartment window, his eyes dark with exhaustion, his body covered in wounds. Most noticeably fresh *burns*. Your heart aches for him as you gently help him into your shared bedroom, he immediately slumps into you as you lead him to the bathroom.
His eyes flutter open as you begin cleaning out his wounds, swiftly beginning to close again. You smile- all be it painfully as you tend to the man who stole your heart. You clean out all the visible cuts first, helping him up as you walk him into the shower.
He slumps into you as you bathe him, your hands gentle and loving. Foreign to his rough past. He trusts you completely, falling asleep before flinching awake seconds later. You don’t say anything, yet. He’s exhausted, he needs rest before you scold him for his reckless behavior for the umpteenth time.
You gently dry his hair, helping him into pajamas. You apply aloe vera to his burns, ignoring the hissing curses he mutters under his breath, weakly attempting to push your fast-working hands away.
Once you’re finished you quickly pull on one of his baggy T-shirts, quickly finishing the necessities of your night-time routine. Lifting the covers up, you- with great difficulty- push Dabi into bed, his turquoise eyes too exhausted to even process what’s happening, he instinctively just melts into you.
After several minutes you catch your breath before climbing in beside him, laying his head on your chest. He melts into you, wrapping his arms around your waist and burying his face into your chest.
Mere seconds later he’s fast asleep, his entire body relaxing in the presence of what he cherishes most.
When the morning comes, you’ll scold him for being so reckless- so *stupid*. He was slowly killing himself, and you were forced to watch it happen. You would, once again, try to convince him to forget about his father and run away with you- forget about the league, about society, about *revenge*.
He would most likely shoo you away, stubbornly refusing to listen to you once again. He would brush away your concerns and worries, tell you how silly you’re being, and shut down if you pushed the matter.
But for now, you could just hold him. He could rest, find peace, and be loved for the first time in a *long* time.
The rest could wait until tomorrow.

Congratulations on your followers milestone! Can I ask for the prompt "first fight" with Dabi?
Scars and All
Dabi/Touya x Reader
Details/Warnings: lowkey toxic relationship, arguing, kinda angsty LMAO i'm sorry i cant help but make dabi angsty. hurt/comfort i think, angst to fluff? dabi is trying, okay? also dabi is called touya in this fic!
Word Count: 957
hello thank you sm for your ask and the congratulations :) i hope you like this, i really like dabi bc 1) hes hot lol and 2) hes such a well written character. also i'm going to start writing in all lowercase bc its what im used to and upper case drives me crazy!!
loneliness was something that consumed you constantly. it was a scary feeling sometimes, especially because of the things it could drive someone to do.
you wished you didn't feel like this, but you couldn't help it.
before getting into a relationship with touya, you knew of the lifestyle he lived and how much of his time it took up. at first you thought you could handle it, but over time you soon realized that wasn't true. hours of him being gone quickly turned into days, sometimes even weeks and it was driving you crazy. you really wanted to try and continue to sit compliantly and let him do what he wished to do, but you were at your wits end.
sometimes you wondered why you even continued to put up with him, especially when you knew deep down that he'd probably choose to continue committing villainous acts over your relationship.
but you knew the answer to that-it was because you loved him, and sometimes love can make you do crazy things.
so now here you were; sitting on the old couch in your living room. the edges of the fabric having frayed ends and burn marks here and there from the moments touya let his temper get the best of him.
you can't remember how long you've been sitting there anxiously, waiting for your boyfriend to get home, but you felt your heart beat faster when you heard the front door being unlocked.
you wiped your sweaty palms on your pants and took a deep breath, trying to prepare yourself to confront touya, who sighed as he walked through the door and his heavy boots thudding along with each step.
he walked over to you and threw himself down on the couch, placing an arm around your shoulders and pulling you into him. moments like this made it hard to stay mad.
he placed a kiss on your temple, "hey. you miss me?"
you fiddled with your fingers as you leaned further into his chest, "of course i did. i'm glad you're home."
he tilted his head down to look at you, "then how come you don't sound happy, huh?" he asked, squeezing your shoulder as he did so.
you frowned, knowing he'd caught onto your bad mood already. he was way too perceptive sometimes.
"i am happy touya, i promise." you insisted, "it's just..."
"it's just what?"
you sat up from your position and faced him, but it was hard to look him in the eyes. "i just wanted to talk to you about something that's been bothering me."
he looked at you for a moment, expressionless, making you even more nervous until he said, "alright, what is it?"
you took a deep breath.
"you're never home touya, and i miss you." you frowned, "i worry about you and when you're gone for so long i get lonely. i miss spending time with you."
he groaned, "babe, do you not understand why i'm gone? or do i need to tell you, is that it?" he asked.
you regretted this now.
"no, i know why but it's just-"
"if you know why, then why do you fucking ask me?!" he yelled, making you shrink into yourself. you two had bickered over things before and there were even times when you needed space from each other, but touya had never yelled at you like this.
you could feel your eyes prick with tears and the lump in your throat grow, "touya don't yell at me!" you cried.
"i'm yelling at you so you get this through your god damn head!" he snapped, "i can't be here, sitting on my ass like you every fucking day. i have shit i need to do to make my plans happen!"
you gasped at his words. did he really think that's all you did?
"you know damn well i don't just stay at home on my ass, touya! i work too!" you said, tapping his chest with your finger as you pointed it at him.
"i buy the groceries! i make the food! i wash your blood stained clothes! i do everything i can, but you don't know because you're never here!" you yelled, taking a deep breath after so you could continue speaking.
you sighed heavily and spoke softly, your energy gone from yelling. "you're never here touya..." you sniffed, letting the tears run down your cheeks. you brought your hands up to your eyes to wipe them away, "i love you, so i miss you. i just wish you were home more so i don't have to spend my nights all alone."
touya was breathing heavily, but sitting silently as he processed your words. he was perceptive, sure, but he wasn't really good with emotions and dealing with people when they were upset.
feeling guilty, he wrapped his arms around your crying figure and hugged you tightly to his chest. he brought a hand up to your head and stroked it gently, shushing your cries. you stayed like that until your crying had become sniffles with occasional hiccups.
"i'm sorry," he said softly, "i'm sorry i'm always gone. i fucking suck at this, i don't know how to be here for you... but i'm going to do better now, for you, okay? i love you too. i don't say that enough."
you brought your hands away from your face and wrapped your arms around his waist, leaning your head against his beating heart and closing your eyes.
"as long as you try, touya. i know you're not perfect, and that's okay with me. i love you the way you are."
"scars and all?" he asked jokingly, making you giggle.
"scars and all."

Dabi x Reader/Sibling PLATONIC.
REQUEST ARE OPEN
Quirk: Opposite of Dabi/Toya you had an ice quirk stronger than your mothers and the rest of your siblings, but your body had little to no resistance. It was built for extensive heat, causing you to get frostbite damaging your skin.
You are the second oldest being born not long after your big brother Toya and he was your best friend.
Endevor quickly realized you were a “mistake” leaving you to a similar fate to your brother. You'd found peace with your body's scars by learning how to manage your power on your own and how to heal them properly.
You had run away awhile ago finding yourself resentful of your father and in turn hateful of the heroes who allowed you to be discarded and abused by the now number 1 hero. You had stumbled across the LOV a while ago and had been a help given your healing talent and had a mass interest in taking down endeavor.
You sat at the bar with Kurogiri asking him to make you a drink before Dabi sat next to you taking it away. “You definitely look too young to be drinking kid” He said, pulling it further away from your reach. “Fuck off scar face” You spat reaching over him taking back your drink, his eyes looked so familiar, you couldnt help but stair “Got a problem, if so speak now or forever hold you peace” He said pushing you away and placing your drink Infront of you “If its about the drink i was just fucking with you, no need to get hostile” he said putting his hand above his head.
"No, you just look familiar. Not your face but your eyes, it's stupid.” You said taking your drink and walking away. “I'm going on a walk, tell crusty i'll be back” you said b-linging it for the door shaking.
“Nah he’ll be fine not knowing, I'll go with you kid” You finch at the sudden familiarity in his voice. “Don't fucking call me kid. I'm not your fucking kid.” You said snapping at him grabbing his wrist coving it in a thin layer of ice. He pulls away, raising his hand in a surrendering motion following you out the door.
You walked around for a while feeling the cold of the air around you, the weather app said it was going to freeze and snow but you’d honestly forgot it was starting to get cold, too cold. You started shaking and wrapped your arms around yourself refusing to go back to base yet. “Are you shaking because you're cold or because you think I'm gonna kill you?"
He said, crossing his arms. “The first one” you said while looking around for a store to buy a jacket. "Bit strange for someone with an ice quirk but okay."
You pulled out your phone. The lock screen was a photo of you and Toya side by side holding hands smiling at the camera. It was probably the only photo you had of the two of you together not covered in scars.
“Nice wallpaper for a villain” He said, snatching your phone to get a better look. You froze his feet in place reaching for the phone. “Give it back. I’m not fucking playing games with you Dabi” you said, he was taller than you but that didn't stop you from trying to jump to get the phone back. “Where the fuck did you get this photo.” he spat using his fire to break away the ice and grab your face. “It me and you brother fuck is it to you?” he put you down shoving your phone in your hands “You’ve go to be fucking shitting me ” You were about to yell at him again before he stopped you “All this time you must have thought i was dead huh?” you look at him confused “what..? I'm so confused” He pulled out a piece of paper from his pocket, it was the same photo but more crumbed and worn. You looked at him then at the subtle white roots of his hair. “Shit” you said, feeling the wave or realization hit you feeling tears form in your eyes “Who would've thought we both end up villains?” He said before seeing the tears falling from your face. “Hey, let's take down that shit stain of a hero together okay?” He took his jacket off, placing it on your shoulders.

Hey, I hope you're doing well. I saw your post regarding sending requests of different fandoms. I hope that you're familiar with MHA. If so, could you write a Dabi x gn! Reader?
Where the reader helps Dabi, by mending his bruises and calming him down after he comes back bruised up after a fight and angry because he didn't expect to get this injured.
Just wholesome fluff <3
Take your time! Totally understandable if you don't know the fandom.
🩷
Here you go! Also, I haven't really watched MHA (but I know stuff) so like Dabi might be a lil ooc here.
Contents: Post- Shoto v/s Dabi scenario where Dabi seeks gn!reader out.
Warnings: Uh... Hurt/comfort. That's it? No smut.
There was a knock on your door.
You frowned, raising your head sleepily from your bed. But you weren't annoyed, not really. The entire Paranormal Liberation Front knew better than to disturb you unless there was a life and death situation.
And so you pushed yourself out of bed and stood, stretching your limbs as you walked over to the door of your room. When you pulled open the door, however, sleep deserted your mind like a scared deer.
It was Dabi.
There was blood on his face.
He looked up at you, eyes slightly dazed, seemingly surprised at his arrival on your doorstep.
You knew what was wrong; he had no need to speak.
"Come in," You stood aside, and after a moment of looking at you as if he was lost, Dabi entered.
You led him to your bed, and he sat down.
"I didn't mean to come here, I..." He trailed off, looking so unsure of himself it hurt your heart.
Dabi was almost never like this. You couldn't imagine the pain he'd gone through to thoroughly numb himself like that. It made you ache.
"It's alright," You said, voice slightly hoarse from just having woken up, even if it was the middle of the day. "Since you're already here, stay a while."
He nodded.
You couldn't be upfront and ask him what he was thinking. He'd shut himself up, smirk at you, and joke about your concern. That was the last thing you wanted. So you opened a bed-side drawer and pulled out a stack of tissues.
"Here, clean the blood off." You handed it to Dabi.
He tried, rubbing messily at the blood that flowed endlessly from his patchy skin, and you realized that it was his blood, the sort that dripped from his seams when he would otherwise be crying.
It made you want to pull himself to you, press him into your bones and hide him from the world. But you steeled yourself.
Taking the tissues form his hands, you helped him clean up.
"Hah, look at you, I need to help you with this too now." You joked, your voice cheerful in a way that you weren't feeling.
Joking was required here, if you acted too soft on him, he'd pull away, say he didn't need to be babied. You had to take care of him in a way that didn't let him know you were.
So you smiled at him, wiping the blood off till it didn't flow anymore.
You threw the tissues away, and turned to look at Dabi again. He was sitting slightly hunched, as if he had no strength in his body, his hands limp on his lap.
"How was the fight with Todoroki?" You asked him, in a seemingly casual tone.
"Fine," Dabi's hoarse voice was even more hoarse.
"Hmm," You stood up from the bed, and immediately his hand wrapped around your wrist.
"Where are you going?" There was accusation in his eyes.
You smiled. "Nowhere. I was out earlier today, bought some stuff. Got some for you, too. Don't you want your present?"
He hesitated, then let go. He nodded.
You rummaged in a drawer before pulling a bag out, walking back to Dabi and plopping down on the bed beside him before handing him the bag. He took it from your hands, and peeked inside.
It was a pack of sweets.
"What am I, a kid?" Dabi said, his voice slightly hollowed.
You raised your hand and knocked on his forehead, making him look up at you, slightly surprised. "You said it, not me."
And then slowly, miraculously, Dabi smiled. His cheeks pulled back and his eyes glowed, and in that moment he was so beautiful you almost lost your mind.
"I'm not the one who likes Optimus Prime." He said.
You feigned offense. "What did you just say? Optimus Prime is not for kids, it's for everyone!"
"Yeah, yeah, sure," Dabi chuckled, and somehow, at the end of it, his head was on your shoulder.
You let him put it there.
There was silence in your room for a while after that, and when you looked at Dabi again, he'd already fallen asleep.
So you put him to bed, pulling off his shoes and gently lowering him onto the bed before covering him with your blanket. You sat at the edge of the bed, watching him sleep.
"Dabi, you big buffoon, what am I gonna do with you?"

Word Count: 2207.
Summary: Saira Uchiyama. His past had caught up to him in the form of a family– Touya Todoroki had no family but Dabi could not deny the existence of his. The existence of a family that had driven him to search for a name he had never even heard of. Dabi's fragile world unravelled; every single thread forced him to confront the consequences of his actions. Was it even her? The one he had beat and shut out of his life? Dabi’s mind hurt, because it finally intertwined with the realisation of the irreparable damage he had caused.
——————————————————————————————————
Dabi has had his overcoat for a long time.
It was the first thing that was ever made for him, and only him.
He never had to share it.
The material was light; he could move quickly without the weight dragging him down.
The material was heat-resistant, so he didn’t have to worry about incinerating his clothes during a fight.
His clothes allowed him to let go. Dabi could explore the forbidden fruits of his full potential because the material allowed heat to escape– because of the fabric’s ‘enhanced breathability’ or something. He never paid attention. But it worked, so he always had it on.
Dabi made his way up to the roof, ignoring the small cries of his name from the distance. It wasn’t on purpose though– he couldn’t concentrate on anything else. His mind had to work hard to think about nothing. Because if his conscience took over, his chest would collapse.
There wasn’t anything left inside of him anymore. That’s what he had recited every waking day of his life as Dabi. But God, he needed a cigarette– to fill that hollow feeling inside of him.
A few long puffs always did the trick. Although it felt best when he was on the roof, legs hanging off the ledge.
One of his favourite hobbies was to look at the city under the glistering stars.
Yokohama never slept. The little toy cars had small people that were always going somewhere. Their blinking red lights mirrored the sea of stars on the bumpy road. At such a distance, where cars disappeared from one end to the other, that journey seemed so mindless. Yet still, everything felt like… like it was still in place. As if everything about this world was truly intentional.
Dabi dragged a longer puff, throwing his head back, succumbing to the gentle breeze and his thoughts.
But in the end, you couldn’t make out any face, let alone their identity. Everything became insignificant. All that mattered was the action.
Dabi could distinguish between a walking figure and a jogging figure. Whether they were alone or with others.
But in the end, everything else was insignificant when he was above them all.
So far up, that if he fell– right now– he wouldn’t come back.
Anyone could push him off.
“There you are!”
Dabi grimaced. His soothing bubble had been forcefully broken, and he was dragged back to reality. He had his suspicions on who it was.
“I thought we could use a drink or two.”
His eyes glowered at the approaching figure. He could never be left alone. But when the bottle of scotch was handed to him, the interruption wasn’t too bad after all. Dabi jerked his head towards the empty space beside him.
He could hear careful steps approaching, then cautious shuffling beside him.
Had he stolen a glance in his peripheral vision, he could watch the gentle breeze tease her hair, sweeping it left and right.
He felt a chaste glance on his face.
There was a thin, yet strong wall between them. It was thin enough to talk through– although it left no room for subtlety. It was thin enough for them to warm each other. But if they tried to cross it, they’d have to break it down, and crush the other under the weight of the wall.
There was a lingering sense of emptiness that filled the night sky.
Empty smiles, empty vessels.
She drew in a breath, but no words followed, as though she had forgotten how to speak.
“Today was…” she started, only to falter off into silence, her hands rubbing at her arms.
Dabi had his overcoat for a very long time.
It was the first thing that was ever made for him. And only him.
He never had to share it.
But it felt way too heavy today. And despite the gale tightening its frosty clutch, Dabi could feel his body heating up.
“The plan was successful”, Dabi replied flatly, “that’s all we need to care about”.
He pushed his discarded jacket towards her. She slipped it around her shoulders.
The League’s attack on downtown Esuha was broadcasted globally, and they had finally reached the headlines of every news article.
‘Bloodshed Strikes Downtown Esuha as Villains Unleashed Devastating Attacks’
After years of failed plans, the League of Villains had finally succeeded.
No man, no woman, no child was left. But it was all worth it.
Wasn’t it?
Their plan was the highlight of every media discussion.
Dabi took a larger sip of his drink, bathing under the serene wave which washed over his inhibitions.
And the wall between them felt thinner and weaker.
“D’ya think your mom would ever sacrifice herself for you?”
The vivid images of fresh blood and visceral screams haunted their mind.
“What did that woman say again?” Dabi asked, his voice cracking, “‘take me, but please, leave my baby alone’... That’s what she said right?”
Both of their eyes lowered. The alcohol and the little food he had consumed was kicking against his stomach lining, irritating his abdominal grafts.
“‘She has a long life ahead of her. Please, please, don’t kill her please’”, Dabi heard a sniffle. “That’s what she said before we…”
He felt sick.
“That’s what we do, doll.”
He met the pain in her eyes. They were a mirror.
Dabi clenched his jaw before looking away.
She did too.
Dabi began biting his fingernails, and her hands fidgeted with the glass.
And then they looked at each other again, somehow closer than they were in the beginning.
“I don’t know if my mom would ever do that for me… But, I-hm…”
A dry chuckle followed in a feeble attempt to humour the situation.
But Dabi finished her unspoken sentence.
“But you would, right? For your child,” he asked, furrowing his eyebrows and squinted, trying to make out some of the writing on the tall buildings afar.
“Any mom would do that for her child.”
“Didn’t you just say th-”
“Any good mom would”.
No one spoke. But they shared a knowing look, before averting them back to the vastness of Yokohama.
“But to be honest…” She took another sip of her drink. “If I had a baby, I’d never live in Musutafu.”
Dabi let out a snort, thus earning a playful shove in return.
“Oh yeah? Then where would you live, fucking Minato City?”
It was her turn to snort.
“You think I’d live in a rich neighbourhood to avoid being a target of criminals and villains?” She scoffed, slurring out her words. “I know I’m the newbie but you have to give me some credit, Dabi.”
He rolled his eyes, yet they still urged her to continue.
She thought for a moment, her gaze wandering off into the distance, before she continued again.
“There’s this place, just outside of here. It’s called Yosai. It’s this remote residential area. And, um. It takes around 30 minutes minimum, to find any markets, or- or any offices or clubs, and you know, all that stuff. I think, for most people, it’s like- really boring. And that’s why it’s so isolated. No one even thinks of going there because there’s literally nothing. There’s a park, and a local school– I think, but there’s no one. Nothing. There’s these houses- a lot of them! A bunch of houses with no one to live in them”.
It was weird, to be talking, uninterrupted, for this long.
“I guess”, she shrugged a bit, blinking a few times. “Recently, people have started building roads and stuff for cars now. So they can actually do something. But yeah. Zero reported crimes and it’s been there for a few decades. So yeah, if I had a family, I’d go there”.
She looked intently at Dabi, who didn’t say anything.
But he moved closer, leaning forward, sitting upright. He scanned her jittering hands before searching in his pant pocket. He raised his eyebrows at the cigarette in his hands. She nodded. So he lit it, pressed the ends to his lips and inhaled before giving it to her.
He watched her lips touch the cigarette. Where his lips were.
“There’s actually this property under her maiden name- my mom’s. There’s still some legal stuff I need to sort out before it actually becomes mine. It’s like this, it’s so stupid, because it’s like obviously none of us use that maiden name anymore. But because of that they can’t give it to us. I don’t even know… But I guess it’s nothing too difficult”.
“Ah”. That was all he could say. But when he peered into her expectant eyes, there was a sudden need to elaborate. Anything better than ‘ah’ at least.
Dabi felt dizzy.
“Umm… What's your mom’s maiden name?”
When his delayed voice finally caught up to him, Dabi winced.
“Fuck”, he muttered. It was a stupid question, but he wanted to make sure that she knew he was listening.
“It’s Uchiyama.”
They were closer, breaths intertwining with each other under the watchful eye of the moon.
-
There weren’t any buses that travelled from Musutafu to Yosai. Dabi made his journey by foot.
Thus, during this four day journey, Dabi became well acquainted with people.
And he noticed that a lot of people in Japan had blue eyes. After the emergence of quirks, blue became a common colour for many. The truly rare ones were pink, or purple now.
But Dabi’s eyes… they were different.
His eyes.
They were handpicked from the colours in the cerulean depths of the stormy sea. Whispers of secrets remained untold– that’s why no one could have the eyes that he had.
Never.
They were gleaming– echoing the beauty of the lights in the North. Depending on how you looked at them, they were teal, or sapphire. One thing was indisputable– the arctic chill they’d give when he’d pierce into your soul was breathtaking.
His eyes.
They were simply breath-taking.
So when he towered over a small frame, gaze lowered, he could not explain the way his heart forgot to beat when he stared into a perfect replica of his eyes.
With each beat, lost time unfolded in front of him.
And he noticed the slight difference in the silent expanse that he had gazed into.
There was an innocent reflection of the North Star twinkling in their genuine, rolling waves. Dabi’s eyes were an abandoned lighthouse.
But, what alarmed him the most, was when those flawless replications turned frozen. Dark.
Petrified.
Dabi's heart ached as those eyes formed fog and mist, obstructing him from reaching the truth that was hidden beyond the plane of sight.
His knees surrendered under the accumulating guilt of his past. And so his tears fell, trying to escape the grief and strain his weak body had repressed for so long.
“Honey, are you okay? Who’s at the door?”
Icy tendrils spiked through him, and his breath was captured without a fight. In the wake of realisation, his body signalled all the alarms they could, telling him– no, begging him to run, but, his blood had turned to ice, and he succumbed in the paralysing grip of his inevitable fate.
“Sana, are you okay…”
He heard the voice taper away, followed by a sharp clink of a metal spoon. His laden head fixed itself downwards in shame, guilt, fear…
“Dabi…?” Those words drifted out in a hushed tone. As if they were trying to protect the young girl, who now hid behind her mother.
He braced himself for the hardest task he would ever have to face.
And in that split second, his breath had returned, and he let out a short exhale when he finally saw that face materialise from his past.
Y/N.
It was you. Saira Uchiyama.
After 6 years, 8 months, and 19 days of navigating through the circular journey of denial, anger, bargaining, and depression, Dabi finally had the chance to reach the beacon of acceptance.
His shoulders slumped, as short breaths hiccuped through the dark caverns of his chest.
He had finally found you.
And he had finally found the end to his coveted quench, which yearned for a solace, only to be found in your longing embrace.
Softly, a bewildered whisper escaped his lips, barely denting the silence around them.
“Doll…?”
Dabi watched as the maturer skin scrunched together, deep lines frowned at him. As the tenderness in your heart had to be locked away inside an untouchable crevice in your body.
You pushed your daughter behind you, blocking Dabi’s protesting hands before they touched her.
“Sweetie, I need you to go upstairs okay”, you ordered sternly.
“Mommy, he’s scaring m-”
“Sana. You need to go upstairs. Lock the door and close your windows.”
Sana.
Her name was a painful reminder of the blank pages he had failed to fill as her father. How could he have written anything?
He didn’t even know what the title was.
“Never fucking come near my family again”.
Those blank pages began to rip.
“You disgusting freak”.
The blank pages had burned to ashes, and Dabi was left outside on the suburban patio of a perfect neighbourhood.
Maybe, if he found a place to wash his face, he could blend in with the garbage.

(A bit of self comfort, because my body feels 100× heavier, and I've been puking since 3 am. this morning. And now, even after the puking era is over, my chest feels like there is a huge hole in it every time I breathe or laugh.)
Imagine this..
Dabi sighs as he fishes the keys out of his back pocket. "Domestic shit.." He scoffs into the chilly night air. Jingling of keys and a click of the front door unlocking interrupted the peacful atmosphere of the apartment complex hallway. Dabi would never admit it, not to you or anyone else, but he was worried about you.
His calls and texts had gone unanswered all day. That was very unlike you. Thanks to your at home job (and your lack of a social life), Dabi never had to think about if you were truly busy or not. Plus, most of the time, you informed him if you were going out for any reason at all. He never told you to do this, and he even made it clear that you didn't have to tell him shit, but you reassured him that you wanted to.
That was one thing Dabi loved about you. You were his loyal girl. He trusted you not to break his charred heart. If anything, he knew he would eventually have to break yours.
Dabi quietly stepped into your apartment and closed the door behind him. He paused and listened for any indication of another person in the abode, but he couldn't hear nor see a thing. All the lights were off, and it was uncomfortably cold. Dabi felt a shiver run up his spine. This was so unlike you.
His normally warm and inviting baby.
Dabi didn't dare call out into the seemingly empty home, just in case. The further Dabi ventured into the apartment, the more he began hearing noises. Right outside your bedroom, Dabi could hear wheezing and shaky exhales. With the worst thought plaguing his mind, Dabi entered the bedroom. Only, he didn't find what he was expecting.
Thank God.
Dabis eyes widened the slightest at the sight before him. You were huddled under your blankets, a trashcan sat idly next to the bed, as you wheezed to breathe in your sleep. You looked pale, and your nose and lips were light pink. Dabi immediately walked to your heater and turned it on high. He didn't care for the electricity bills.
When he approached your bedside, he was hesitant in waking you up. You looked awful.
Dabi gently (surprisingly) laid his hand on your arm and softly rubbed his thumb in circles on your clothed skin. "Baby doll, wake up." He spoke quietly. Your eyebrows scrunched together, and your lips formed a cute pout. Dabi crouched, so he was face to face with you. "Wake up, baby." He spoke a little louder. Your eyes finally opened and fell to the ocean blues in front of you.
"Touya?" You mumbled. Dabi nearly melted at the use of his real name. Your weak and whiney voice turned him soft, yet he would never admit it. "Yeah, it's me. Why didn't you answer your phone? I've been trying to contact you all day. Had me thinking you were dead or some shit.." His words made you glance to your phone. "I've been sleeping all day.. I don't feel good." You whispered. Dabi sighed. "I can see that much." He retorted.
A sudden whine left your lips as you curled in on yourself. "I-I don't feel good." Tears welded in your eyes as you clamped your eyes shut. Dabi moved the trashcan closer to you, and sure enough, you leaned over the side of the bed and puked your guts out. Dabi stood up and looked away as he held your hair from your face. He wasn't good at emotional support, but he knew that seeing you like this twisted his gut almost painfully.
Once you were finished, Dabi soothingly rubbed your back before bringing the trashcan to the bathtub and washing it out. He didn't think there was any point and getting you to brush your teeth, considering this definitely wouldn't be the last time you threw up tonight. Dabi came back into your bedroom and placed the trashcan can by your bedside once again. He then cradled your chin in his hand and used a wet rag to wipe your mouth and chin. He threw the dirty cloth in the hamper nearby.
"Take a deep breath, baby, I know." He softly said as you clutched your stomach with one hand and wiped the tears away with the other. "I don't like puking.." You cried. "I'm pretty sure no one does," He teased. "But hey, it's over for now. Take a deep breath and try to go back to sleep." He said as he placed his palm on your forhead. Yep, you had a fever.
Tears faded and soon crying decreased, letting Dabi know you would fall asleep soon. He stood up, only for a weak tug on his coat sleeve to stop him from moving. "Please don't go.." You pleaded. Dabi leaned down and kissed your forhead. "I'm not going anywhere, baby doll, I'm just going to go make you some soup." He reassured. You hesitatantly let go of his jacket and retracted your arm back under the covers. Dabi took this opportunity to retreat to the kitchen.
He sighed and took off his jacket before hanging it on a chair nearby. He didn't know how to cook shit.
-----------------------------------------------------♤
About two hours go by, and Dabi finally has some resemblance of "soup" sitting in a pot on your stove. He pinched the ridge of his nose. A headache was quickly forming behind his eyes, which reminded him, you need some medication..
Dabi entered your bedroom with a bowl of soup, water, and two pills ready. He set the supplies down on the bedside table, where he noticed that your phone was lighting up with messages. He glanced at your sleeping form (now facing the opposite direction) and grabbed your phone. Dabi always teased you about what an introvert you are, "And everyone says I'm the loner," he would say, so, yes, these repetitive messages were odd. Dabi entered the phones password and raised an eyebrow in curiosity.
"Must be her editor.." Dabi mumbled as he pressed on the text bubble. The action sent him straight to the chat room with, technically, your boss. Dabis eyebrows furrowed in irritation as he scrolled through the many unread messages. Constant pestering about your books deadline and your absence in responding to him. The bastard went as far as to try guilt, tripping you into writing more on your book, despite your message yesterday that you didn't feel too well. Your last message to the guy, and enough that he should have left you alone.
Dabi sent a quick message to the douchbag and smirked as the guy began blowing up the device once again. Dabi only silenced the notification sound in response.
He then cut off your phone before tossing it back on the wooden desk. He sat himself on the bed next to your huddled form and gently rocked your shoulder. He smirked when you curled closer to yourself and shivered. "I've got some medicine and food for you, but you have to sit up." You grumbled, yet you slowly complied. Though Dabi did have to help you move thanks to your limbs, feeling the weight of elephants sitting atop them.
You were sitting against your bed frame with the blankets wrapped around your shoulder, lidded eyes, and pouting lips. You looked adorable.
"You're going to eat some of this soup, and then you can take these pills." Dabi said as he brought the bowl of food to his lap. Dabi didn't acknowledge your sniffle nor your hiccup, as he brought the spoon up to his lips and blew on the substance. After he was sure it wouldn't burn your tongue, he brought the spoon to your lips. You weakly opened your mouth and allowed him to feed you.
He noticed that you resisted the urge to gag. "My cooking really that bad?" He joked. You lightly smiled and shook your head. "No.. I just really don't want to eat anything.. I've lost my appetite for days because of this stupid stomach bug.." You admitted. Dabi hummed but didn't say a word.
He continued to feed you until you physically couldn't eat anymore. Dabi took the bowl to the kitchen and placed it in your sink before returning by your bedside. He helped you take the pills before laying you back down to rest some more. He kept you facing him this time, in case the trashcan was in need of use. His hand unconsciously rubbed soft circles into your arm.
"You probably shouldn't stay.. I don't want you getting sick, Touya.." You mumbled sleepily. The effect of bile running up your throat all day was obvious on your voice. Dabi only chuckled and shook his head before pushing some hair from your face. "Nah.. I've got no place better to be than right here taking care of my baby."

dabi with a s/o who's sensitive to loud noises
pairing: touya todoroki / dabi x gn!reader
tags: spoiler for dabi's identity, mentions of loud noises, mentions of dabi arguing (not with the reader), reader crying, angst with a happy ending, hurt/comfort, mentions of abusive parents
despite dating dabi, you two don't really tell each other much about your life before you met
it took you months before he told you he's endeavour's son
and your backstory is still a mystery to him
he hardly ever makes the first step and asks you about yourself. but when he does get to know snippets of your backstory, he keeps them in mind
he would never forget anything related to you
it takes dabi a while to pick up on the fact that loud noises or his angry outbursts make you very uncomfortable
he did notice how quiet you would get and that you'd usually retreat whenever he got a little louder, but he thought this was because you find it awkward sitting around, while he's arguing with the league of villains
turns out he was wrong
he only notices what really had been going on, after he walked in on you crying in the bathroom, covering your ears
you didn't hear him come in and when he gently touched your arm, you flinched
and it broke dabi's hard to see you like this
you eased up a little when you saw that it was him and dabi quickly wrapped his arms around you
for a while, you two just sat there silently, as he was afraid to ask what was wrong. was this his fault? had he hurt you?
when he does break the silence eventually and asks you about what happened, you slowly start opening up to him
about your abusive parents and how you were constantly looking out for yourself
how loud noises always meant trouble
and how you learned to retreat before they would direct their anger at you
you tell dabi that everytime he raises his voice and gets angry, you start to get nervous again, just like when you were a little kid
dabi feels like a complete idiot after he realizes the situation. honestly, he's surprised you haven't left him yet because of it
he promises you that he'll never hurt you. that he won't raise his voice against you, nor will he raise it against anyone when you are around
he'll learn to control his anger, if it means he gets to keep you around

Dabi had a way of turning even the smallest inconvenience into a reason to snap at you. Every time you entered the room, his glare would follow, sharp and dissecting, as if he were daring you to give him a reason to unleash whatever was brewing under his skin. You tried to shrug it off, reminding yourself that he was harsh with everyone—but with you, it felt personal. The jabs cut deeper, lingered longer, especially when you’d worked hard to contribute to the League.
After a particularly challenging mission that had taken a chaotic turn, you returned to the hideout, feeling utterly drained. You’d kept pace with everyone else, even stayed back to hold off a security team that had almost blown the entire operation, but despite your best efforts, the mission hadn’t gone as planned. It wasn’t even your fault—none of it was, in fact. Still, the weight of everyone’s fatigue hung in the air as you walked in, trying to blend into the background and head straight to your quarters for some much-needed rest.
But Dabi wasn’t about to let you off so easily.
“Hey,” his voice cut across the room, dripping with irritation. “Nice job holding us back out there.” He leaned back against the wall, crossing his arms as he leveled you with a stare, his words slicing through the quiet like a knife. “Not like it was important or anything.”
You stopped, feeling the familiar knot form in your stomach as his words washed over you. You knew you hadn’t done anything wrong; in fact, you’d practically saved the mission. But it was like he was looking for any excuse to tear you down, and today, he’d found his opportunity.
“It wasn’t my fault,” you managed, your voice softer than you intended. The dull throb in your head, which had started as a manageable ache, was intensifying, and each syllable felt like it rattled inside your skull. You wanted to keep your composure, to stay calm and collected, but the exhaustion weighed heavily on you, amplifying every ache and pain.
“Oh, so now you’re making excuses?” he sneered, his voice raising just enough to make the others in the room glance your way. “Funny, that’s what people say when they know they messed up.”
You could feel your face heat up, a mix of frustration and hurt swirling together as his words hit home. The pounding in your head became unbearable, the pain radiating behind your eyes as you struggled to keep yourself from lashing back. It was already humiliating enough; you didn’t need to give him the satisfaction of knowing he was getting to you.
“It’s not an excuse,” you said, trying to keep your tone steady, but your voice wavered despite your efforts. “I stayed back to cover everyone, and you know it.”
Dabi scoffed, rolling his eyes as if your words were nothing but empty air. “Sure, whatever you say, hero. Maybe next time, do us all a favor and stay out of the way if you’re not up for it.”
That was the last straw. You turned away, blinking back the tears that threatened to spill over as you left the room, your vision blurring not just from exhaustion but from the sting of his cutting words. The tension in your head exploded into a full-on migraine, each heartbeat sending a sharp pulse of pain through your temples as you stumbled back to your quarters.
Curling up on the bed, you couldn’t hold back the silent tears that finally escaped. You felt feverish, your body heavy and weighed down as you lay there, the ache in your head growing worse with each passing moment. Dabi’s voice echoed in your mind, the harshness in his words replaying in a loop that made it impossible to find any comfort in the quiet of your room.
You lost track of time as you lay curled up in your bed, cocooned in your blankets. The world outside felt distant and muted, the sounds of the hideout fading away as your headache intensified. The pounding in your skull grew sharper, almost rhythmic, and a wave of nausea rolled through you, leaving you breathless. You pulled the blanket tighter around yourself, hoping to block out the chill that seemed to seep into your bones.
As the hours passed, you drifted in and out of sleep, the comfort of unconsciousness momentarily easing the pain before it came crashing back. Each time you stirred, you felt the remnants of your fever—your skin hot and clammy, the bed beneath you soaking up your discomfort. You had no idea how long it had been since you last left your room, but eventually, the noise of the League’s activities began to fade into a more oppressive silence. You’d missed dinner, and the absence of the usual bustling energy in the hideout felt eerily wrong.
But it was when you heard footsteps approaching your door that a cold shiver of anxiety shot through you. You didn’t want to see anyone, especially not Dabi. You didn’t want to face him again, especially after everything that had transpired. But when the footsteps stopped, a knock broke through the quiet.
“Hey, you in there?” Dabi’s voice cut through the stillness, low and slightly muffled. There was a pause before he continued, “You gonna just hide in here all night?”
You squeezed your eyes shut, wishing desperately that you could disappear. “I’m fine,” you managed to call out, but even to your own ears, you sounded weak.
“Yeah, you don’t sound fine,” he shot back, the irritation in his tone mixed with something else that you couldn’t quite place. “Open the door.”
Against your better judgment, you found yourself pushing off the blankets, each movement sending waves of nausea crashing against you. You tried to take a steadying breath, but the tightness in your chest made it difficult, leaving you feeling more anxious than ever. With a reluctant sigh, you got up and opened the door just a crack, barely able to look him in the eye.
Dabi stood there, his arms crossed, the annoyance on his face quickly morphing into a frown as he assessed you. His eyes widened slightly, the harsh lines of his expression softening as he took in your flushed cheeks and the way you swayed slightly on your feet.
“You look like shit,” he muttered, the bluntness of his words a strange juxtaposition to the concern creeping into his voice.
“I feel worse,” you admitted, letting the door open wider as you leaned against the frame for support. “What do you want?”
“Doesn’t matter. I’m coming in.” Without waiting for a response, he pushed the door open further and stepped inside, his presence filling the room. You felt a mix of annoyance and vulnerability, not sure how to process the sudden shift in his demeanor.
He scanned the room, his eyes landing on the disheveled sheets and the empty space beside you. “You’ve been in bed all day. Why didn’t you come out? Everyone’s worried about you.”
His voice held a note of genuine concern that caught you off guard. You swallowed hard, fighting back the lump forming in your throat. “I didn’t want to deal with anyone,” you admitted, the words tumbling out before you could stop them. “Especially you.”
“Yeah, well, too bad.” He moved closer, his gaze never leaving your face as he reached out, his fingers brushing against your forehead. “You’re burning up. What the hell is wrong with you?”
You flinched at the sudden contact, but his touch was surprisingly gentle. “I think I have a fever,” you said, your voice barely above a whisper. “I just need to rest.”
“Rest isn’t going to help if you’re sick.” Dabi sighed, raking a hand through his hair in frustration. “Look, I know I’ve been a dick, but—”
“Yeah, you have,” you cut in, your voice sharper than you intended. “I didn’t deserve that today, Dabi.”
He ran a hand down his face, exhaling slowly as he took a moment to gather his thoughts. “I know,” he finally said, his tone softer now. “I’m… sorry. I don’t know how to deal with this, okay? I don’t do feelings.”
His admission hung heavy in the air, and you felt the tension between you begin to ease slightly. “You could’ve just talked to me instead of being an asshole,” you replied, a little more gently this time.
Dabi nodded, the irritation on his face replaced with a somber expression. “I get it. I messed up. But right now, you need help.”
Before you could respond, he stepped back and grabbed the blanket, folding it over his arm. “Get back in bed.” It was an order, but it felt more like concern, and you found yourself obeying, fatigue washing over you as you settled back under the covers.
He sat down on the edge of the bed, his weight shifting the mattress slightly, and you felt a mixture of comfort and unease at his proximity. You watched him, his expression thoughtful as he looked at you, seemingly wrestling with his emotions.
“Just—just stay still for a second, okay?” He reached out again, his hand finding your forehead once more, his fingers cool against your skin. “You’re burning up. I can’t believe you let yourself get this bad.”
“Like I had a choice,” you muttered, your voice tinged with frustration. “I thought I could tough it out.”
“Clearly that didn’t work,” he said, a hint of a smile tugging at his lips, but it quickly faded. “You need to take it easy. I’ll get you some water or something.”
Before you could respond, he stood up, moving toward the small kitchenette in the corner of your room. You watched him rummage through the cabinets, grabbing a glass and filling it with water from the sink. The sight of him, so focused and intent, made your heart race in a way that had nothing to do with your illness.
When he returned, he handed you the glass with an unexpected gentleness, his expression softening as you took a sip. “Drink,” he insisted, watching you carefully. “You need to stay hydrated.”
You nodded, the cool water soothing your dry throat as you gulped it down. As you set the glass aside, you caught a glimpse of the concern etched on his features, something almost tender that made your stomach flip.
“Thanks,” you said, your voice quieter now as you met his gaze.
Dabi shrugged, his usual bravado faltering for just a moment. “Whatever. I just don’t want you to die on me. You’re too useful to the League for that.”
A soft laugh escaped your lips, a little incredulous, but it felt good. “You really know how to charm a person, Dabi.”
“Yeah, I’m a real charmer,” he replied, rolling his eyes. But the corners of his mouth twitched upward, betraying the faintest hint of a smile.
You both fell into a comfortable silence, the tension easing as you allowed the moment to settle. Despite the heaviness in your chest and the throbbing in your head, you felt a warmth creeping in, a connection blooming in the quiet space between you.
“What did I do to make you mad today?” you asked suddenly, breaking the silence. “Was it something I said?”
He shifted slightly, the laughter fading from his eyes as he contemplated your question. “It’s not about you. It’s—” He sighed, running a hand through his hair again. “It’s me. I just don’t want anyone to see that I care. I thought being a dick would keep you away, but it only pushed you closer.”
“Why do you care so much?” you probed, trying to understand the whirlwind of emotions swirling within him.
Dabi met your gaze, and for a brief moment, vulnerability flickered behind his usually guarded eyes. “Because you matter. And I don’t want to lose you.”
His honesty hung in the air, leaving you momentarily speechless. You hadn’t expected such a revelation, especially from someone who had built their walls so high. “Dabi—”
Before you could finish, he reached out, taking your hand in his, his grip surprisingly gentle. “I know I’m not the best at this, but just—just let me be here for you. I want to help, even if I don’t know how.”
Your heart raced, warmth blooming in your chest as his fingers intertwined with yours. “I’d like that,” you admitted, the sincerity of your words breaking through the fatigue that clung to you.
“Good,” he said, a smirk creeping back onto his face. “Now, let’s get you better. I’m not done with you yet.”
As you leaned back against the pillows, a sense of calm washed over you. Dabi might not have been perfect, but in that moment, he was there for you, a presence that grounded you as the ache in your head gradually faded, replaced by the warmth of his closeness and the promise of something more.
