okay so it’s hard enough for solasmancers to find out the Dalish were wrong and that they are literally wearing slave markings on their faces, right?

but what about the non-solasmancer Lavellans? Especially Lavellans that were friends with Solas?? In the final fight vs Corypheus, he can taunt a vallaslin-wearing Lavellan by saying that they’re wearing slave markings with pride…

Can you imagine hearing that shit, being so fucking confused, thinking it was some Tevinter bullshit… only to later find out during Trespasser that your Best Buddy™️ Solas KNEW THE TRUTH AND DIDN’T TELL YOU??

Yes, that’s distressing enough for anyone close to Solas regardless of race, class, and romance. It’s distressing enough to hear him say that he didn’t even see you as people at first. And, yes, it’s even worse for Solasmancers, but man…

To find all of that out, to find out that your missing best friend is actually the ancient elven “god” of rebellion and has been amassing an army of elves… to find out that he has been removing their vallaslin… but not yours?

Not you, who thought yourself closer to him than almost anyone. Not you, who he had a million opportunities to tell. Not you, who he did share small truths with. Not you, who helped him see that this world and its people are real.

I have been joking for years that I always accidentally go for the heartbreak option on my first pts of Dragon Age games:

DA:O: romanced Alistair as a city elf, didn't harden him, made him king, got dumped unceremoniously.

DA2: Romanced Anders, nuff said.

DA:I: Solavellan . Need I say more.

But now in DAV I went for Taash, and... nothing bad happened? Like, plenty of bad things happen in their personal quest of course, but the romance is simply nice. My curse is finally broken!

Why on earth, did I decide that opening my last Inquisition save (The end of Trespasser, so end game end game)to talk to Solas at 5 a.m this morning when I couldn't sleep was a good idea? I have been thinking about it all day. It's like I was making an unconscious decision to make myself sad.I don't know how Solasmancers do it. I was wrecked just being friends with him.
