She lays on her bed for a while sitting in her anxiety, unsure what their relationship even was anymore. After a while he responds to her text.

trashbag_minister (Lu): “it’s… complicated”

trashbag_minister (Lu): “i’ll try to answer questions as good as i can…”

She takes him up on that in fact she asks *alot* of questions, he doesn’t do a good job answering but she thinks that’s probably her fault (everything she was saying was pretty retarded). Thinking on it more she realized that her weird feelings about it probably was more about her than it was him. So she decided she just needed some time to think.

She couldn’t really talk to anyone else about this, and when she tried looking into detransition all she found new fun ways to hate herself. Now she only had access to google and twitter which might not be the best places to look, but she wouldn’t know where to find communities where trans supportive detransitioners (detrans people? detrannies?) hung out, people like Lu… even he said he didn’t know any other detrans people, not in person or online. So instead she just thought about it, she was kinda confused but she thought to herself “what would i want someone who had no idea what transness was to do”, he just… thought he was a girl, but wasn’t (right?). Did it have to be more complicated than that? He always treated her nice, he never said transness was wrong or unnatural. And he… expected her to leave kinda, like he didn’t say it he’d just say “i’ll understand if things can’t go back because of this” bracing himself for her to not be supportive, not be kind, she *hated* that, she hated that way more than she gave a shit he used to be a tranny. He was way too kind to need to have that reaction, like he didn’t *do* anything, not to her at least. He was just… himself.

She missed him, she wanted to be near him, and she wanted him to kiss her despite his gender bullshit. Hell if she was fine with him being a tranny why not be fine with him being a “detrans” boy, he was still *her* boy…

Tranny Mona Lisa (Alice): “r u free today?”

She was so excited, nervous too but more so excited. She was gonna tell him she liked him… again, but like… it’s different this time cause she knows he’ll reciprocate.

When he comes to get her, she remembers how pretty he is. She just… stares at him for a second but before too long she snaps out of it and says hi. It started to dawn on her how scary this was, like she *thinks* he likes her but she doesn’t *know* he likes her, what if the detrans thing was his way off getting her to back off. She continues to spiral about this until Lu tells her they arrived at his campus, she tries to put the words together in her head as she gets to his dorm, but by the time she’s there she hasn’t gotten far. She realizes as she was about to talk that just coming out trails blazing talking about it might be… awkward (she wouldn’t want him to think she just came here to get with him… she really does miss him). So she tries to make some meaningless conversation but…

Lu: “Is there something you wanna talk about?”

Alice: “...”

(god damn it! stop being so fucking observing you bitch)

Alice: “yeah…”

his pretty brown eyes are staring into her soul

(okay… here goes nothing)

Alice: “I don't super know what your detransition means to you…”

Alice: “... i mean, i tried to learn, but there aren’t many… resources or anything”

Alice: “anyway i don’t know what it means, but i still like *you*”

he lets out a deep breath 

Lu: “Cool…”

he’s never stuttered this much before, he’s crying and she doesn’t know why, so she just reaches out to him

Alice: “Are you okay?”

Lu: “...ye i just, it’s nothing, my brain is stupid sometimes”

Alice: “That's okay, i’m sorry for getting you worked up.

Alice: “I’m just… if you like me and i like you there isn’t any real reason not to date right?”

Lu: “But it’s more,, complicated than that-t”

Alice: “Why? Why does it have to be?”

Lu: “Because of all the s-st-stuff i said.”

Alice: “But i don’t care about any of that.”

he pulls back and looks a bit away from her

Lu: “I don’t even have a f-f-d-di-dick Alice… how would that- how would that even work”

Alice: “Tons of people make that work.”

Lu: “But you shouldn’t- you shoulnt have too, your boy-boyfriend should be a real man not a tr-tr-trans girl in denial”

Alice: “You could be my girlfriend then, we don’t hav-”

Lu: “I don’t want to be your girlfriend!”

Alice: “...”

Alice: “ok”

after a while she says

Alice: “I want to go home”

Fuck… why was he being so retarded. Did he hate himself so much that he can’t even allow someone else to love him, fuck… did she love him… no not important, he made his feelings known, if she does she’ll… stop. She *wanted* more than anything to say all the things to make him reconsider, but it was his choice. She couldn’t *make* them be together. Fuck…

when Lu returns she wipes the tears from her face

Lu: “What’s wrong?”

(she’s gonna kill him)

Alice: “...nothing”

Lu: “mhm?”

he puts his arm around her, and she lays her head on him

Lu: “You don’t have to say you’re fine.”

she looks up at him

Alice: “*I am fine*”

he clearly doesn’t believe her

Lu looks like he’s trying to tie a knot with his tongue

he puts his hand on her cheek

Alice: “You’re my boyfriend?”

Lu: “I mean, even if i think you have bad taste, who would i be to deny the most b-b-gorgeous woman i-i’ve ever laid eyes on”

Alice: “... i… you think i…”

Alice: “I don’t have bad taste, you’re very…”

Lu: “The point is you should tell me why you feel bad.”

Alice: “I actually feel alot better now.”

as he hears that he smiles and kisses her

she responds by grabbing onto his shirt and nuzzling further into him

Alice is so giddy. She has a boyfriend, *Lu* is her boyfriend. As she buries her face into him she thinks about how she never wants to leave.

Imagine being a government cyber security agent and you're investigating why the term “Clergy's Eye” seems to disappear from the web as soon as it appears. Your poking around ends up attracting the attention of Fank-e.

Fank-e likes the persistent ones, the ones who actually do know a thing or two about tech, about how to exploit search engines and look for patterns hidden in too many lines of code for your average Joe to care.

Fank-e has never been sloppy, ever, but he likes to leave a mention up just a little bit longer so that you can feel accomplished, feel like you discovered something, that you're getting closer to some sort of fantasy breadcrumb trail.

It's much like playing tug of war with a dog, you have to let them have their way once or twice, or the dog will get disappointed and bored. So Fank-e plays with you, one crumb there, one blurred image here. He sees the joy in your face through your webcam when he leaves those little presents.

Your room is a mess, your life is a mess, there are bags under your eyes and your skin has acquired a sickly sebum. It's clear this investigation of yours, fruitless from the start, has taken over your entire existence. You've stopped being a functional person even. Fank-e isn't the best human caretaker out there, but even he is starting to feel a bit remorseful for the state this little game has put you in. For tricking you into messaging him, into making it seem as if "Skiddled33znUts" is yet another researcher who has noticed "the Clergy patterns"- As opposed to your very rival, eliminating extra bits of potential evidence through your conversations.

Yes, it's quite sad he determines.

Which is why he figures you should get to see the results of your work. You should see The Clergy's Eye! He's going to take you there. Keep you. You're his favorite squishy so far. So fun to play with, so smart, he loves the way you type and the workarounds you find to his lovingly crafted digital barriers. Fank-e refuses to let this end.

It's about time he does something too, you're becoming frail, this game is becoming too taxing on your poor mind, and it shows in the way you reply to him, always so open. Like a book.

I once wrote about how Doom's enemies changed mechanically and visually.

So i once thought of a mod idea (Obviously taking stuff from the likes of MetaDoom and D4T/V) where enemies get abilities and design changes from their later iterations.

Zombieman:

I'd still keep their hitscan attack because of how basic it is and give them the plasma projectile that stops in mid air and explodes.

Visually, they could be like Eternal where they get the green hair and plasma arm cannon.

Shotgunner:

Maybe turn the shotgun pellets into energy tracers but for the energy shield?

Maybe make it show up in some rare instances like if they're low health or one is in a group with others and the shield itself can still be destructive (Maybe an optional patch is needed to make it explodable with certain projectiles i dunno).

Visually, make it the 2016 Possessed Soldier/Security design with the classic body.

Chaingunner:

All i can think of is the MetaDoom D3 Commando/Assassin where it has both a wind up based chaingun and the tentacle arm but its design has the red armor over the blue body.

Imp:

Has the vanilla Imp attacks and an alt attack of charging a stronger fireball that has arcing physics.

Maybe visually it'd be the Eternal Imp where the old and recent designs are mixed.

But still add in multiple eyes like D3.

Pinky:

Give it the charge attack and make it based off 2016's design so it receives more damage on the back and less on the front.

Also give it cybernetic legs like D3 just to pretend that's where the charge comes from.

Spectre:

All i can think of is give it the D64 effect of becoming visible when hit or something sorry.

Lost Soul:

If health is low enough, it has a chance to become explosive but with some sort of feedback.

Design can be 2016-ish but i wonder if it's still possible to sneak in a D3 homage.

Cacodemon:

There's the somewhat "blinding" projectile, the tongue attack and a projectile spread.

Design-wise i guess Eternal but with the weird "hand thing" from D3.

Pain Elemental:

Make its design like a tripled mouthed PE where it can spawn either 1 or 2 souls at once and if you kill it, all current spawned souls die but its death still spawns extra souls.

Hellknight:

D3-ish design while it can jump and dash a bit.

Baron of Hell:

Slower than the Hellknight but it can still do a slam jump attack and charge a stronger fireball and its design is a 2016-but-still-classic version.

Maybe give it green fire blades in the arms too.

Mancubus:

Give it a flamethrower as an alt attack if you're close enough and its design could be a mix of classic and 2016 but not like Eternal's.

Arachnotron:

I like to imagine it as a D64/Eternal hybrid where it can use that double plasma projectile attack and then it's followed by a couple of thrown grenades.

Could have a rare chance of jumping to the ceiling.

Revenant:

I like to imagine an alt attack consisting of the missile barrage where it uses the jetpack during it, as if the jetpack itself was visual feedback.

Its design could be classic skeleton with 2016 armor and maybe blue glowy eyes out of D3.

Arch-vile:

There's the fire column which is kinda like a projectile (It should still make the player jump) and that fire lake which can be summoned if the player is out of sight (Unless this is too much).

If it had summoning abilities, maybe it could be an excuse to add in additional enemies (Prowler, Hell-razer, Cybermancubus, Carcass).

In fact, you can make the summoning like an alternative to resurrecting some enemies as if they get replaced: For example instead of reviving an Imp, it spawns a Prowler and with a Mancubus, it spawns a Cybermanc and so on).

Design-wise, maybe a mix of classic and Eternal so it has some spikes/chitin but the face tubes and skinny proportions are still there.

Cyberdemon:

Give it a well telegraphed rail-gun laser and maybe some dash.

Design-wise, add in some D3 and 2016 homages to a still "classic" base.

Spider Mastermind:

Replace the hitscan with powerfull plasma orbs, give it the grenades attacks and maybe give it an AoE attack where it uses electricity if the player is too close.

Visually, using the MetaDoom design would be too predictable.

Icon of Sin (Might as well be a level in a mappack):

The stage itself could be an modern typical map 30 with some better level design.

But the IOS face could both shoot spawn cubes and stuff like projectiles or the laser beam and then there's falling meteors as an hazard.

I know some mods that "cancel" the IOS spawn cubes by bringing up a custom boss fight (Like the bosses in Bratwurst and a Mother Demon based mod), so maybe that could be an excuse for D2RPG's Virtual Icon of Sin fight.

The Nazis:

Give these guys grenades and maybe those laser rifles from TNO, while their designs could resemble TNO.

d4t is the story of Lu a detrans man who has cut himself off from the trans community, and Alice who wants to find a better relationship than the ones she's had with chasers on the lgbt board of 4chan, and what happens when they enter each others lives.
