Anyways, I've read three character wikis at this point, and they have so much lore. I would love that for tc*mg, but Ronnie literally pulls the lore out his ass without thinking about it and actually knowing his characters so😭👍

kinda long post, yeah, but please read it.

some of u have noticed this already, some of u have not. but I have officially considered my version of j!woon an oc for a few weeks now. I've updated my rules to reflect this so ppl aren't surprised by it later.

This is an original interpretation of H@k J!woon / The Tr!ckster, established on the 5th of march 2021. No game knowledge required to interact. While the character belongs to Beh@viour Inter@ctive's De@d By D@ylight, I consider this adaptation as seen on this blog an original character. I've developed his personality, big chunks of his backstory, connections to other characters, and more completely independently and in my own way. This might mean he won't be your cup of tea, as I developed it with little regard or care of what B/H/V/R was trying to set up. Please read his biography page before you interact with me because of this. Please don't put any of your personal headcanon expectations on me.

I credit B/H/V/R still for the template, obviously. I have also added that to my credits section in my rules. I completely get it if you don't like my characterisation anymore, but honestly I love u so much if u do like it bc I've worked pretty hard on it the past few weeks and have figured out a lot of things that were impossible for me over the last few months. writing with @heksblade as much as I have has really solidified his voice in a way to me that makes a lot of sense (to me).

the original essence of his character is still there, like. everything u read in his lore is there. i just don't think the direction I went in with his personality and some of his motivations for what he did is what a lot of people will expect when they think about the tr!ckster. and that's fine. different strokes for different folks i won't be holding it against you.

imo I think dead by d*ylight is a ticking timebomb of failure. It's saturated with licenses that they're continuing to purchase and implement. The only things they add to the game are cosmetics, maps, characters, and perks. They have added nothing to the core gameplay since it was released 5 years ago. You do the same shit in the same gameplay mode as you were doing when the game first released.

Without a single player mode or variety to the gameplay at all it gets so stale so quickly. It's boring to watch and boring to play. The only reason the game continues to be active is they're relying on people wanting to try out the new characters and maps, especially the licensed ones.

What happens when people get bored and it's not enough? They run out of licenses to purchase? If it languishes the servers will close and the game is useless at that point. And even if that doesn't happen the sheer glut of licensed characters is really dangerous. If any one of their licenses isn't renewed or some legal issues pop up, that shit will be completely removed like it never existed.

There will come a time when that game's licensed characters all disappear. Look what happened to MK9 on the PC, the F13 game, and even GTA IV when problems happened with their licenses. And also, what about when the devs just wanna work on something else? They've been focusing on this one game for half a decade. Eventually they may want to move on.

so my dad, whom i love dearly, got me a PS4! he saved up points from our workplace acheivers program. i’m very happy with it, and he got it because 1) my sister broke the one i gave to her 2) d-ad by daylight is my favorite game and i haven’t been able to play it in a while.

PROBLEM IS -- i’m having a real-life gore relapse and as such, i haven’t set up my PS4 because dead by d-ylight makes it worse. i mean, the thing is is that aside from the moris, there’s not a lot of gore. the bleeding isn’t realistic, the hook doesn’t leave a wound nor do the characters bleed from that part, and it’s not like the screams are realistic.

I like D/e/ad by D/a/ylight, but the fandom... hfs... I just want to see cool content of the Killers and Survivors, not your fantasies of Myers raping you/Dwight or your conspiracy theories about how T/e/d B/u/ndy was framed by the government.

Ohmygod😭😭😭😭 I read a wiki of a killer in d*ad by d*ylight and ohmygod😭😭😭😭 I am so enamored by him! It's like he was made for me. This is going to be a dumb long post bc I just wanna copy and paste some sections from his lore that stood out to me. It's all under the cut. At the end I talk a little about it, but I need to put my thoughts together in a more put-together way. This will do for now.

Oh and trigger warnings for gore and violence.

In the sweltering barn, he stares at the blood dripping from his hammer, feeling as though he were in a dream. Strange. Weird. Unhinged. No. Not a dream. More like... like he's living in a TV show... watching himself from a distance. Slaughtered cows thick and wet all around him. Seven or eight of them writhing helplessly in warm, coagulating blood. Heads cracked open. Brain and gore spilling out. Flies buzzing around him, buzzing in his face, buzzing in his ears, telling him this slaughter is who he is. This senseless slaughter is his worth... his only worth.

The flies circle his face and laugh at him. The high-pitched whining returns. "The pigs got names and you didn't! Duke and Donny." He swats at the flies. Pa nudges him. "Come on, Boy, show'em you can do more with that hammer!" Boy... That's what Pa calls him. Boy... That's what Ma calls him. They think he's too dumb to know he doesn't have a name. A real name. He knows. All his life he knew. He knew and imagined himself as Max... Max Thompson. Imagined his Pa was so proud of him that he gave him his name. How he dreamed to have his father's name... how he dreamed... Pa shoves him.

Ma sobs on the ground with a mouth full of cracked teeth. Boy lifts her with one arm and a flood of inarticulate words rush out of his mouth. Words he only understands. Words the TV taught him. He wants to know his name, his real name, and she just stares at him, confused, lost, desperate. She gurgles blood and chips of tooth slip down the side of her face as she begs for her life. Even if she understood what he was saying she could tell him nothing. "My name! My name! What's my name!" Boy slams his Ma against the ground again and again.

"Why? Why did you hate me? What did I do to make you both hate me so much?" Her face is both beautiful and hideous at the same time. Evil veiled by beauty. He hugs her, harder and harder, wishing everything would have been different, wishing he were one of those damn pigs. They spoiled them with love, affection and time — all that time they spent with Duke and Donny while he groveled nameless and alone in a dungeon built just for him. He tries to lift her, but slips in a pool of her blood. She struggles in his embrace. Every time he asks the question he squeezes her tighter and tighter. "My name... What's my name?" Her struggles cease and she jerks spasmodically.

Boy moves to the side to let him pass and stares at his good work. Stares at the gore dripping from his skull like putty. Watches him stagger left and right in the moonlight. If he were a cow, he'd end his suffering. But he's not a cow. He's something else. Something vile and corrupt. Boy watches him disappear in the shadows. He stares at the darkness until he hears a thud. A strange feeling fills his heart and he... laughs. It feels good to fight back and show them his worth — his real worth.

These deputies seem angrier than the last. He's not sure if it's because he felled their friends or if he ended their cleaning racket with his Pa. Maybe both. He just gets the sense if they catch him they'll make him suffer and squeal like a pig. Those pigs. Those damn pigs they loved so much. Why did they have to love them so much and him so little. Had they treated him like those pigs he would have been happy. He would have been happy and he would have been something else. He would have been a hero like that boy who wore a cape and helped the world all because of how his Ma and Pa raised him.

I don't have anything concise to say, but I love how much being loved by parents and the importance of a name is highlighted throughout all of Max's lore. If his parents had shown him even an ounce of kindness, things could have turned out different. He even goes as far to say that if his parents had treated him as they treated their prized pigs, things would be different.

Why does d*ad by d*ylight seem sooo confusing to understand lmao I'm not gonna play it, I'm just reading the lore and will probably watch some matches no commentary but the new killer's design is sooooooo fascinating to me and I want to see what it's deal is. And I wanna watch some matches from when my beloved Bubba was in the game LOL anyways, any time I try to read the lore my brain short circuits.
