«Y es que la Filosofía no se puede construir según el esquema usual en las ciencias particulares. La estructura de estas últimas cabe compararla a la de una escalera; en la cual cada peldaño sirve de paso y de sostén al que le sigue y todos se apoyan, desde el primero, en algo que no es la escalera misma. Para cualquier ciencia particular, el tal apoyo le vendrá, o bien de la aceptación de una evidencia, como la de los axiomas, que no necesitan demostración, o bien del recurso a algo ya adquirido por otra ciencia particular, así en el apoyo de la física en la mecánica, de ésta en la matemática, etc.; o bien de las observaciones empíricas de los sentidos Mas, para la Filosofía, nada de esto sirve; pues cada uno de los criterios enumerados implica, para ello, un problema esencial. ¿Debe prestarse crédito a las adquisiciones de los sentidos? ¿Qué ciencia particular dará seguridades suficientes para fundar algo encima de sus conclusiones? La evidencia misma, ¿no encierra para el filósofo un valor problemático? La filosofía, pues, no puede organizarse según el esquema de la escalera. Su técnica corresponderá mejor al esquema del círculo: el cual puede interrumpirse en un punto cualquiera, que deberá luego ser legitimado. En este punto convencional de interrupción, se empezará el trazado del círculo general del saber filosófico.»

Something something… The Layton kids all reflect the Monte d’Or Trio in some way, leading me to believe hope they had a helping hand in raising them. Not necessarily in the ‘my childhood friend is missing so I’ve adopted his kids’ kind of way, but like. Rosa is working a full time job at Gressenheller and Flora is a young adult with her own life, so maybe the Monte d’Or gang could babysit every once in a while?

Randall is Kat. Hyperactive. Boisterous. Loud-mouthed. Passionate. Rude. Spoiled. Wants shiny things. Craves attention. Living in their father’s shadows. That leaves Henry as Alfendi. Taken in by a family that he’s not related to biologically. Working off the premise that Alfendi was adopted too He seems so different to his family… He comes across as uncaring and he can have quite a temper. There are rumours about him— that he has blood on his hands… but really, he’s a good person and cares for his loved ones. He just has a different way of showing it. Also, he’s very passionate about his work. (The one difference is that Alfendi instantly bonds with Dalston. They’re besties)
