the fortnite cybertruck ordeal is so funny to think about
it's so so clear that this came about just because elon begged and begged for it with an unignorably large sum of money. epic devs have said openly on their twitter pages that not only do they not endorse tesla or musk due to the partnership, but they that actively loathed having to work on it
the cybertruck coming to fortnite was heralded with a teaser image and then a whole 30 second trailer, clearly meant to drum up hype and, ASSUMEDLY, drum up people to spend money on the cybertruck when it hit the item shop. it's currently obtainable completely for free, and in a specific way that's impossible to do on accident, as if people who don't want it at all can safely not get it
THE CYBERTRUCK ITSELF IS A CATASTROPHIC MESS INGAME! it's an suv/truck skin, which means that entering a truck/suv on the map will morph it into the cybertruck if you have it equipped. currently there's only an SUV with 4 interior seats. but the cybertruck shunts the two rear seats *TO THE EXPOSED TRUCK BED WITH NO COVER WHATSOVER*. also turning an SUV into a cybertruck, for some reason, completely disables the use of two powerful items (rocket fists and a summonable ghost ship) for the entire rest of the match
one of the custom decals for the cybertruck is the sledgehammer-induced broken glass
in rocket league (another f2p epic games title) the cybertruck, for some reason, doesn't have matching hitboxes At All and instead uses the same as The Hybrid, which is a rectangular box that's hard to manipulate the giant soccer ball with, and is considered bottom tier for competitive play. speculators thought the sloped windshield could grant *some* benefit but it doesn't even have that

Do y'all get dreams that are sequels/follow-ups to previous dreams? I do, I get them regularly. Tonight I fell asleep unusually early because I had a couple beers, this is normal. Anyways, the main dream I remember from This Sleep was a follow up to one I had a couple weeks ago, in which, for some bizarre reason, my TeslaMuskCybertruck hating ass *BOUGHT* a whole ass Cybertruck. FOR CASH, MIND YOU. I remember in the dream being puzzled as to why I was doing this. That's all I could really remember from that one. On to tonight's dream, post Cybertruck Ownership. I still had my actual car in this dream, Silver 2003 S2000. Unfortunately it was snowing, I had to get to work. My parents are clearing the snow from the sidewalk and driveway, including my mom, would never do that due to her back being so fucked. I get into the Cybertruck, I'm surprised to hear and feel and engine inside. This is unusual, this is incorrect, the dream correct itself, it's now electric.
I sit down, I buckle up, the truck immediately lunges forward without my touching the accelerator, I almost hit my mom, she yells at me. I drive to work, it's the path from my old house to my grandparents, I see some high school friends as a fire station they work at. It's Nate & Javon, so e guys from high school I actually like and think are good guys. I haven't seen them a single time since High School. I pull in, they ask me about The Truck. I express to them how much I loathe the truck and everything it represents, I don't know why I bought one for $36,000 cash. They don't like it.
I drive on, I drive to a school. I'm a teacher? I wanted to be a teacher. I drive the truck straight into the building, there are halls big enough for the truck. I finally park it in the back of the classroom. Things get fuzzy from here. I moved the truck a couple times, each time again, always remarking to myself & those around me how much I hate this thing. The dream ends, I wake up, I'm very sweaty.
#its weird that i have multiple dreams in chronological order that form a story right#do other people get that?#weird dreams#my dreams

RP @ electriccarnews Fan of the Honda E hatchback? Then chances are you’ll love this too - the Sports EV coupé. Originally unveiled way back in 2017, things have gone rather quite lately whilst the Honda E (the production version of the Urban EV which the coupé was revealed alongside) is nearing first deliveries. Love or loathe it? Let us know if you’d like to see the Sports EV make production below👇 @electriccarnews ⚡️ ———————————————————————————Photos from 📸 @electriccarnews (edits) @honda (originals) ———————————————————————————#tesla#teslamotors#honda#teslamodels#teslamodelx#teslaroadster#teslamodely#teslas#supercar#teslasemi#teslay#electric#electriccars#ev#evs#electricvehicles#teslaclub#teslacars#teslaowner#cybertruck#elonmusk#teslalife#ev#teslax#teslamotorsclub#electric#electricity#carswithoutlimits#cars#carsofinstagram https://www.instagram.com/p/CAbvFp9AUTssW2s2AH8MUl5Mr2vBB4WyNN6WQ00/?igshid=6e0bgntmqck4

Electrical engineer with experience in designing wiring systems for trucks (and similar applications) here.
Look, I loathe Elon Musk as much as the rest of y’all, and I think the Cybertruck is an ugly-ass shitshow with an assortment of other problems, but the information here is isn’t really accurate to how this system works. Which isn’t surprising, considering that cybrtrkguy seems to be completely misunderstanding the way this whole thing gets wired up.
A typical motor vehicle has a central controller. Everything else gets fed back to it through wires that are usually bundled into harnesses depending on what part of the vehicle it’s coming from. For example, your brake lights, backup camera, rear blinkers, and everything else on the back of your car will have its wiring sent back through a harness all the way to the front of the car, where the aforementioned controller is. (It’s actually a bit more complicated than that, but that’s the basic idea.)
For the Cybertruck, Tesla replaced the main controller with a network of smaller, localized controllers; with a main harness to facilitate communication between the controllers (and, of course, send power to the local controllers/distribution boxes to distribute as needed).
As someone who’s had to design, work on, and troubleshoot electrical systems for vehicles and larger diesel engine-based power systems…this isn’t a terrible idea; in fact, I can see the appeal of it. In addition to the cost savings that comes from reducing the amount of wiring needed to make the truck work, they’ve also made it so that any problems that arise are localized - that is, if something goes wrong with the components in your passenger-side door, all of the reworking and rewiring will take place inside the door itself. There’s no need to have to trace wires all the way to the front of the truck, get under the hood, pull panels off the dashboard, etc.; all the work you’re doing is in one place. I would think that, for similar reasons, manufacturing would be simpler. (Ironically, the criticism of this system having a single point of failure is backwards - by spreading control of individual systems across multiple networked controllers, they’ve spread out the possible points of failure.)
Granted, I still think the Cybertruck is a dumpster fire, but not because of the wiring.
#also the whole thing about crumple zones is wrong#the thing about the crash test videos is that you don’t see the driver or passengers getting crushed#the problem with the ultra rigid body structure is that it’s terrifyingly dangerous to pedestrians not the people in the truck#but that’s also par for the course for American pickups anyway#which is not a defense of any of this#but an indictment of our cultural love of large trucks#Elon musk#Tesla#Cybertruck#twitter

Haven't seen or heard of The Tiger in a long time, you ever see those?
Also, fuck Tesla Motors, and fuck cybertrucks.
how to explain to non-americans that the better call saul ads aren’t exaggerated for comedic effect they are super normie

Stellaris would THRIVE on tumblr
And yeah Cassie would loathe the cybertruck as a concept. “It’s a vehicle whose main selling point is that some guy named Allen Must invented it? Hard pass.” She would buy a motorbike though
Happy STS! What would your seven stations characters like most and least about Earth? Vice versa for your pirate's roost characters if you're feeling ambitious?
Hope you're having a nice day <3
Happy STS, sorry for the delay. I love this question!
Belladonna: would most like the space and the privacy. Would least like the amount of environmental influences on her appearance (heat=sweat, wind, etc)
Cassie: would love rock climbing as a concept. Would hate that we “reinvented noble-worship” with celebrities
Nellie: would love a lot of the cool clothes styles we have going on. Would hate those recipe blogs with fifty paragraphs before the recipe
Narcissus: would love Instagram (does love whatever social media Seven Stations has). Would hate pollen (he’s allergic)
Ricinus: would love skyscraper offices. They’re his energy I’m sorry. Would hate that we’ve overthrown the nobility
Goldenrod: would love gardens. Would hate the rain so much
Cassiopeia: would love the economics (this woman would thrive as an exploitative CEO). Would hate how hard it is to hide anything
Stellaris: would love the neurodivergent acceptance. Would hate that thin layer of slimy mold that forms on outdoor furniture when it’s wet out
Rhys: would love the disability accommodations. Would hate how many things are always going on at the same time
Sel: would love that no one thinks he’s a clone. Would hate that people would judge him anyway
Bonus Pirates’ Roost characters:
Merry: would love popsicles. Would hate how crowded everything is
Malcolm: would love Spotify and Instagram. Would hate that people would think it was fine to take pictures of him without his permission
Tatum: would love modern medicine. Would hate getting emails
Thank you for the ask! I had a ton of fun with this one :)
